What book do you own the most editions of? When it comes to book buying - I give myself very few rules to follow, but the one I have is that I can’t own more than 1 edition of one book (Except for classics because they’re beautiful.) I’ve actually kept to it, but it does mean I often have to do a lot of research to buy a book to find out which edition I want to buy! For instance, the book Nocturna shown here is the @fairyloot edition! After a lot of consideration I decided I preferred the blue to the original red cover! But this research also often means I end up not buying a book because it’s so hard to decide! (Can we all take a minute and talk about the 263829017302 editions of Aurora Rising by Amy Kaufman and Jay Kristoff? #resenha Nocturna - @mayam1745 (@editoraseguinteoficial) ⠀ 🌑Quando teve seu lançamento no começo do ano, Nocturna teve seu hype altíssimo, principalmente pelo fato de ser uma fantasia baseada em cultura latina. Bem… meu terceiro olho sempre está certo quanto a sempre ignorar livros hypados. ⠀ 🌑Terminei o livro e fiquei querendo entender a razão de todo o hype. Até porque eu achei ele uma espécie de fanfic da trilogia Tons de Magia. O plot principal, a personalidade de alguns personagens, suas interações e até (pasmem) o final do livro pareceu ter saído do livro da Schwab. A leitura toda foi aquela sensação de “eu já li isso aqui antes”. ⠀ 🌑Quanto aos personagens, a única que se salva é a Finn. A ladra de rosto é muito voz da razão e da consciência. Seu instinto de sobrevivência é muito grande, mas ela também é bastante corajosa e leal. Até porque, ir atrás do planos infalíveis nível Cebolinha do Alfie, tem que ter essas características. Alfie é o típico mocinho de fantasias YA: faz as burrices, tenta consertar e só piora a situação. ⠀ 🌑Sem carisma também define a relação entre Alfie e Finn. Os dois funcionam bem como amigos e companheiros. De repente a autora me decide a querer fazer um projeto de romance entre os dois que até eu e uma porta temos mais desenvolvimento e química. ⠀ 🌑Quanto a cultura latina, senti que faltou mais aprofundamento. Temos a questão da colonização e escravidão trabalhadas no reino de Castallan e alguns verbos em espanhol, usados como comando de magia. Mas também só se resume a isso… até porque o lance da magia no reino foi pincelado rapidamente lá no início do livro e eu já havia esquecido de quase tudo chegando ao final. ⠀ 🌑Pelo menos a escrita da Maya é bem estruturada e a leitura até que flui bem. I’m loving all of the new fantasy stories set in Mexico/Latin American inspired worlds that have been coming out lately! This one was another winner released on 05/07/2019 that I’m very grateful I saved a credit on Audible for!
