So I've seen a number of different posts about Kieranpon. An absolutely wonderful au created by @shima-draws and since championed by @angelabsol. It's an wonderful au and a delight when written with Dipplinshipping. We need more though, so I raise you Juliraidon.

There are a lot of ways to accomplish Juliana being either Koraidon or Miraidon but my favorite is that she's Just Like That. Whichever professor you prefer was pulling Pokémon from this tear in space time and out pops one of the two except suddenly it turns into a child. This works for either MC honestly, and is especially fun with twin aus considering the fact there's two Koraidon/Miraidon.

There's just so much untapped potential. The strange sibling dynamic that'd end up evolving between Arven and Julian. The absolute feral glee Nemona would get upon realizing her rival and best friend is actually a Pokémon, you will get Nemona on her knees begging and whining for a battle. If you prefer the angstier side of things you've got the unethical science bits, whichever professor summoned her treating her like a science experiment.

I especially love Juliraidon in the same universe as Kieranpon because you've got shy nervous Kieran who's desperately trying to pretend that no sir he isn't a Pokémon what are you talking about. Meanwhile there's the feral hell lizard who'd shank Arceus for half of a mold sandwich and didn't know what in the world a human even was until a couple years ago.

Personally I'm a fan of Dipplinshipping, but Juliraidon works for way more than just Dipplinshipping and while it might be my favorite I am by all means a multishipper.

I will absolutely keep going with headcanons for this au if someone encourages me.

I DO understand the frustration of having a rarepair, of seeing a ship and dynamic you think is SO GOOD and "why can't other people see it?" Some of my ships only have two fanfics and then one of them is MINE. But the "solution" is not to yell at people for not making other fanworks. If someone told you YOUR ship was shitty, and that you should write this other pair instead, would that make you want to write it? Probably not, right? It's the same for other people, even if you haven't figured that out. OTHER PEOPLE ALSO DO NOT LIKE THAT.

"How did THAT pair get so many fics? That's fucked up, when OTHER PAIR is right there!!"

The secret: Positivity.

Fandom communities where people are positive and encourage others are the best soil to grow in. Big Bangs, Fic Fests, Pairing Weeks, art/fic trades...and a general sense of welcoming to newcomers and multishippers. That is how you get the big numbers. If every time someone sees your ship on their TL and they associate it with a sense of negativity, and dread, that's NOT GOOD. Be an evangelist for your ship! When you post about your ship, pretend you're making a pitch for why it's good, not why OTHER ships are bad.

Think about reasons why you ship something. Talk about those reasons! No one is out there shipping characters "because the other pair sucks". Keep in mind that many of the most popular ships are that popular because the already experienced and prolific fic and art creators found it and said "Oh wow this is great, I gotta do something for this ship!" The goal is to draw EVERYONE IN, to welcome people.

Many of the ships that people complain about "not having much content" are the same ones where the negative posts about that topic is often all people see. They witness the complaints and bad behavior first. Many people think "Wow, that ship fandom is full of mean people, and they kinda scare me, so I'm not going to make anything."

I hope this was not too lecturey, because I see the real true emotion behind the complaints. It SUCKS when you can't find fics/art of a pairing! It can feel very alone and frustrating! I know that's why there's so much negativity.

But the negativity only increases the problem.

Anyway, next time you feel annoyed or frustrated by the lack of fanworks or attention for a genre or pair or dynamic, try organizing an event. Start small! Maybe just your own mutuals. Or go big! But don't police what other ships those people enjoy.

And most of all, be kind.

I feel like I tricked myself into liking kageyama. Like it kinda went from like kinda liking him, preferring him over to hinata because I felt like I could relate more but he wasn't my favourite character or anything. And then I thought about his character more and read some good angst fanfiction and now he's kind of one 9f my favourite characters, but I can't decide if I actually like the Canon version or the version I made up in my head.

And then I tricked myself into shipping tsukikage. Like don't get me wrong enemies to lovers is great but tsukikage man. Like they'd be an absolute power couple. Everyone would be scared of them. They'd judge and insult people so much, most of the time kageyama insults people without meaning to. And how annoyed they'd be when they realise they like the other, they'd hate it, and you know they'd both be too stubborn and prideful to admit they like the other first and would probably just end up kissing while bickering or something. Like I didn't watch haikyuu to ship tsukikage but thinking of them together brings me so much joy.

And oikage or iwaoikage, if I want angst I go to these and yet the ones where they're not sulfate AUs and they just get together later in life when they're both more mature are some of my favourite fics. Like I rarely read angst but when I do it usually includes oikage. The missed opportunities, the Canon relationship, the unrequited love turned requited love. Like God kageyama crushing on oikawa in middle school but thinking he just admires him as a setter. Kageyama realising his feelings by his first year in highschool. Oikawa being jealous of and thinking he hates kageyama but also being proud of him and just can't bring himself to completely ignore or stay away from him. Then post timeskip nothing much has changed. They pretend not to care while keeping up with each other's careers or lives. And after the Olympics Argentina vs Japan game they get together. Being a multishipper is hell in this fandom honestly.

Also kageyama and sakusa friendship is great but there are to SakuKage fanfics on AO3 where they try to make atsuhina jealous and end up falling in love and one of them is probably one of my favourite fanfictions. Like don't get me wrong I love atsukage and I can tolerate kagehina but the SakuKage in this fix was so cute and well written (maybe not in character) it really left me no choice but to ship. Also atsumu fake dating hinata to make sakusa jealous only for sakusa to start fake dating kageyama to make him jealous, leading to sakusa falling in love with kageyama., theres just something so beautifully tragic in that, like your own actions causing the end of what could've been a beautiful relationship. It's kinda like (but actually completely different) to Babushaka by Kate Bush, you know the song where she tests her husband by pretending to be someone else and flirting with him, only for her husband to fall in love because she reminds him of her (his wife) when they were happy together. Also I tried to tag sakukage but it didn't appear to ba a tag yet and that made me kinda sad

lupin the III relationship headcanons

ok so no one cares but here's what i consider as canon relationships in the lupin verse. this is not just ships,, but mostly.

even if i do like the gang as a polycule, i am very much convinced jigen is gay (sue me) and i mostly think that about goemon too. oh yeah and fujiko's obviously a lesbian. so lupin x fujiko (wait i never realized i do not know their ship name. is it fujipin? lujiko? i actually remember fujilup. i guess ill discover thru the tags.) could kinda work as lupin is genderfluid (TO ME.) so now that this is established.

jiglup are exes. i didn't even watch lupin zero (i should) but i know they were gay in it so yeah. i can definitely see why people ship them, they have chemistry, but still. they are obviously great friends and platonic soulmates. even if they can't be in love, they will always stay by each other's side. the main reason for this is

jigoe. what can i say. they are married and i will not take any criticism.

i don't mind lupgoe as well but like. their relationship is very peculiar to me. i think goemon really values lupin both as a leader and a friend. one cannot exist without the other. as seen in part 5 (one of the last eps, i don't remember which) goemon is lead to think lupin only uses him as a pawn, and this shatters him completely. but at the same time, he finds time to actually be in the gang, even if he's a lone wolf and is often doing his thing, because he respects lupin as a thief.

so. fujiko. she is a mystery. does she love lupin or is she using him? the answer could be both. but i honestly feel as she doesn't really love him, and apart from taking advantage of him, she could just be doing it for fun, or to fill something she's missing. she often looks as she doesn't care about whether he lives or dies. but can lupin really die? so yeah, she still cares about him, in her own way.

fujigoe. apart from my sexuality headcanons and other ships (i can absolutely be a multishipper), i will never see them as a couple. it couldn't work. their relationship is one of pure friendship. they deeply care about each other and are found together even when you wouldn't think you could. if this makes sense. i feel as they're both very protective of the other.

fujigen? also care about each other, even if it doesn't certainly look like it, but i think they pretend to hate each other because that's what they want people to think, INCLUDING themselves. they are like, friends that always insult each other to show affection, pretend to be disgusted by the other and not wanting to touch them, etc.

which ship fans are the most annoying?

Listen, I get it. A lot of people like the dynamic. I like it too. But stop pretending you are supieror or have better morals than those who ship other pairings, ESPECIALLY Sunflower.

It gets really annoying when you say something as simple as their pinwheels next to each other are proof that they’re canon. Just call them crumbs and get outta here.

Another thing that ticks me off is probably the fact they make Kel’s character as bland as it can get by just pasting a smile on his face and forgetting he’s a human too and that, like Sunny, he has struggles of his own.

Yes, I see the “golden retriever and black cat boyfriends” appeal and I like it to some extent, no matter how worn out it is. But it’s just annoying when Kel is just used as Sunny’s way to deal with his trauma without addressing his own problems. It’s like people forget entirely about him and just treat him like a therapist.

I’m not saying all Suntan shippers are bad, and as a multishipper (Solar System ftw), I do love them and the portrayal some people have of them. But I wish we saw more content other than “Sunny is sad and Kel helps him cope.”

Suntan, by all means, can be just as complex and angsty as Sunflower or Sunburn; people just think they’re superior because they haven’t explored all the possibilities.

Stop putting your ship in a pedestal and harassing others simply because there’s not as much sad content for it.

Not everyone who ships them is like that, but when almost all the fandom attacks others simply for liking another pairing and go as far as having a stupid war over the term “best friend”, I think I can rightfully say which shippers are the most annoying ones.

You are mixing too things here anon - whether maliciously or out of ignorance.

I am a multishipper - which means I like and enjoy multiple ships and will engage with fanfiction or fanart of several ships. I also have some squicks - i.e. popular ships that depict a type of relationship I do not like or other popular ships I simply don't vibe with.

I'm also against "purity culture" in fandom. This means that I am against censorship and definitely against people harassing and hounding fandom creators for the things they like - and this regardless of whether I'm open to the ship or not.

I personally don't like and have no interest in incest ships, and age-difference, especially teacher-student or mentor-trainee set-ups are a big squick for me. I do not however in any way have a bad opinion of people creating art or fic that deal with these topics, even if it's not my cup of tea.

I don't know if you have ever read any Greek mythology - I did at the age of 12-13 - and let me tell you it is full of incest. Or shows like GoT having central plotlines with this.

It has existed both as a taboo and as a literary trope from ancient times. Taboos are part of our culture and there is no safer way to explore them than through fiction.

Let me remind you that patricide is similarly an ancient taboo - yet fic writers who write plots about Touya murdering Endeavor are not attacked similarly.

That's because in our culture violence, even genocide or mass murder has become more "accepted" than sexual taboos.

I think if you can imagine it - you can write about. There are actual literary masterpieces about a lot of forbidden topics, including peadophilia or cannibalism. It may be disturbing and hard to read, and there are definitely books I've read that I wish I could pretend I've never seen, but I think those stories have a right to exist whether I enjoy them or not. I feel very strongly against censorship.

In fanfic you actually have a tagging system that lets you avoid the stories you do not want to see - something that most books don't have. So yeah - I'm ok with stories existing that I personally don't consume.

I met the Team 7 cast this weekend, and they're all amazing oh my god. Yuri wore a shirt that said "Regulate guns, not drag." I was dressed in cosplay as Sasuke with my partner as Sakura, and when we met him he exclaimed, "My favorite couple!!!!" and was so excited over us. Kate bullied me for it tho, she said, in her Sakura voice, "I'm so cute! Of course Sasuke will fall in love with me and marry me and be a terrible husband!" and I nearly cried (but she drew a heart with my autograph so it's fine, she's amazing). They all did a panel together with Maile and Dave, and when Maile made a joke about Naruto being in love with Sasuke, Yuri said, "That kiss? Not accidental," and my brain exploded in multishipper. Maile said that recording the scenes where Naruto reunited with his parents and when Kurama dies got her really emotional. Kate said Team 7 should get put in Law and Order. Yuri bullied her into saying that other than Sakura, Sasuke is her favorite character. Maile's was Choji, Yuri's was Rock Lee, and Dave's was Gai. Kate told the crowd to stop lying to themselves because she knows they all secretly love Sakura. Dave, in his Kakashi voice, said, "Raising you guys was a pain in the butt," and Yuri said, in his Sasuke voice, "Thanks, dad." They all agreed that if they were in the Naruto universe, they would want Kakashi as a sensei. Dave said that the One Thousand Years of Death scene is emotionally important to him. Kate said she'd love to voice in South Park so that she could be mean to people. There was a solid minute where they all were just yelling each other's character names back and forth. Dave said he'd want to get drunk with Gai. Yuri said his favorite Sasuke quote to do is just the scoff. Someone directed a question specifically to Yuri, and Maile and Kate pretended to get up and walk off stage. I love them.

favorite thing about them

I honestly started out expecting to seriously dislike him, but his character growth was amazing. I love how protective he is of people, but especially the kids. He's sort of my favorite type of character--the sarcastic little shit who likely has a whole lot of trauma in their upbringing and is probably neurodivergent in some way who actually has a very soft heart and a lot of kindness in them.

least favorite thing about them

I wish he'd realize he was worth care and affection, including his own care and affection. He doesn't seem like he cares if he's injured as long as no one else is. I also hate how down he is on himself, though I empathize with it a lot.

Oof, this is hard. I'd have to go with his reaction to Robin's crush. "She sounds like a muppet." It was just such a Steve reaction. It takes him a minute to process that she said she likes girls, but then he doesn't give her shit about that. Nope, he gives her shit about her taste in girls.

Steve is a good example of the feral kids of my generation in a lot of ways, meaning I'm pretty sure he mostly raised himself. His parents might be rich, but they don't strike me as very present or concerned with his life. I think he and Tommy likely became friends because their parents were friends and Steve tried real hard to be what was expected of him by others until he just couldn't pretend anymore.

I'm only on the fringes of the fandom, so I'm not sure that any of my opinions about Steve would be unpopular, except maybe my dislike of Steve/Billy as that is a popular ship.

Nine People You'd Like To Get To Know Better

Relation Status: Married to my best friend and high school sweetheart

Sweet/Spicy/Savory: Sweet tooth is currently satisfied. Spicy is just kind of a bonus. I think savory is looking good rn.

Three ships: Zukka is the obvious current answer, but I am a habitual multishipper by nature, so here are three ships that I very much enjoy which might not be on your radars!

First is @ablueeyedarcher's fault: How/Piandao. The SS CapyPanda. Are they minor characters who only show up for two or three episodes a piece? Yes. Do I care? No. Let them smooch.

Number two is Jee/Bato. Look. Jee is a tired gay man, He has served his time. Let him get out there and get the good dick. He's not a home wrecker though, he's not gonna get between whatever Bato has going on with Hakoda... unless maybe they invited him to get between them more literally.

Third is Zuko/Kuei. I know the the post canon comics pitted these two sad bitches against each other but listen, here me out. They're both young, inexperienced leaders dropped head first into navigating attempting to deescalate their countries post a century of hostilities with minimal helpful guidance, and they were also both used and betrayed by the father figures they we supposed to trust and rely on. What if when left alone, face to face, they bonded over venting their similar frustrations? What if that bonding turned into an unlikely friendship? What if that friendship tripped and rolled down a rocky hill of something more and they ended up in a secret affair between the heads of two of the world's most powerful states? What if it all came crashing in on them, but they couldn't untangle their very real feelings from their duty as leaders? What then?

First ever ship: Oh snap this is reaching back into Ye Old memory banks here. If I'm being totally honest I think it was the pink and green (later white, much later all the rest of the damn colors) rangers from the original run of the American version of Power Rangers. The internet didn't exist as we know it today so it was just a group of a half-dozen 7-9 year olds G O S S I P I N G on the playground between rounds of pretending to be actual velociraptors.

Last Film: Technically it was me and the rest of the adults post Thanksgiving diner keeping a running background commentary going on the worldbuilding choices in the Paw Patrol Movie that the little kids insisted on watching. Real answer, the last movie I sat down to watch with intention was Across the Spiderverse.

Last thing I Googled: solar chistmas lights. My coworker was complaining that her only outdoor outlet shares a load with an indoor one (which?? rude!) and her partner wouldn't let her put up more Christmas lights. I had to show her. The way her face lit up as she IMMEDIATELY zoomed to Amazon and started filling her cart. Apologies to her poor family and neighbors, but I definitely made her week and possibly her entire New Year.

Currently Reading: Hey did you know that @erisenyo is already releasing stuff for zukki week because she is. you should definitely go read that.

Currently Watching: Rewatching Blue Eye Samurai while spouse watches it for the first time. He's been big into old samurai and wuxia films since I can remember so I'm just sitting here anticipating his reactions to every easter egg and trope call back they've stuffed into this show and also spotting things I missed on the first round.

Currently Consuming: Peppermint mocha and a cheese, egg and sausage tornado. Don't question me.

Currently Craving: My cozy bed. Also a nice big bowl of curry.

Currently Working On: The next chapter of Learn to Carry Love. I'm so so so close to the finish aaargh!

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

278. Please remember I've been writing for 20+ years and I did port everything over when I left LJ.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

4,491,070, but that is artificially inflated from the 800k repost of Leda Verse in one file, so it's actually 3.6 million give or take.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Right now just OFMD, but uh...many. So many.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

1. How (thanks to Gabriel) Dean and Castiel (accidentally) raised each other (and Sam). Supernatural. Dean/Castiel. Sam/Gabriel. I wrote this 11 years ago. It's a juggernaut.

2. A Mountain I'm Willing to Die On. Zootopia. Judy Hopps/Nick Wilde. I have no defense, I was compelled as soon as I saw the movie.

3. (Redacted because fuck J.K. Rowling, but I refuse to take down work and pretend that I was never in the fandom. The story comes with a very clear disclaimer that I do not support or agree with her in any way.)

4. Jonathan to his David. MCU. Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes. The one were Steve has a tiny penis and Bucky is into it.

5. All the First Times. MCU. Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes. One of those stories where Bucky heals in the Avengers Tower.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

YES! Because I love to stay thank you and it helps build community! <3 Love you all.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Treacherous Waters. The Hobbit. Fili/Kili. I got many shrieking comments on this one, including 'I actually curled around my computer making distressed sounds of horror' Very proud of myself for that one.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

That's pretty subjective. A lot of my fics end pretty happily with personal growth, found family, and parties.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

So far I've mostly managed to avoid being picked up on that radar. I've gotten stray comments, but it's rarely hate. I think it's mostly because I've never quite gotten popular enough to draw that kind of attention. I know the more attention a fic has gotten, the more likely I am to start to get odd comments or asks. I'm also not very active on Twitter which I think helps.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Rarely! I used to subscribe to the theory that if you don't put in smut, no one will read your work, but as birthday present to myself five or six year ago, I just stopped writing it as an experiment and while my hits went down, not nearly as much as you'd think. Now I only write if the mood really strikes me and am much happier for it.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Yep! I don't think it was crazy, but I wrote a short Avengers/Mad Max one that I'm pretty proud of: Fresh Eden

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not stolen. I did have them put on Goodreads without permission which was a weird moment in fandom a few years back. I mean it's possible someone's stolen something and I haven't found out yet, I guess. My book has been pirated though.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! Thanks to all the translators out there, you do incredible work for your community.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

A few times! Nothing super recent though there's WIP out there.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

I don't have one. I'm a consummate multishipper. I will say my most consistent ship over the years is Brian/Bender of The Breakfast Club. I will always go back to that well.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

The SMAU I was working on in OFMD. It was a really fun experiment and I don't really have that much left to go, but the amount of work to make it was extensive.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue. I really love writing how people talk to each other and I think a lot about tone and vocabulary and styles.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Plotting. I tend to go by the seat of my pants.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I will generally just note when someone has switched languages. I don't have any confidence in auto translators and unless it's an established canon nickname or endearment, I try to avoid it. I admire multilingual authors so much!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Buffy! I was fifteen and it was a Willow/Spike fic. That was...almost twenty five years ago.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

The answer changes, and for a long time it was this Sam/Gabriel fic where I put my whole philosophy major ass into it. But these days, it's definitively Leda House and the Kraken Verse. How could it not be?
