yo dude i was really curious and i just read yr primal fear fic, just wanted to say that your writing is genuinely so impressive.. not a lot of people could take a prompt like this and actually give it so much substance, your stuff shows such a deep level of understanding of the media ur working with +intuitiveness.. like characterizing shit well from 90s movies is crazy hard and u like immediately got how to write an in-character martin vail so if u can do that u can do any thing im like blown away 🙈 cant wait to see what u do in the future with yr original stuff, youre a beast with the pen ✍️✍️

sobbing for real dude.... this is so kind... "shows such a deep understanding of the media youre working with" truly there is few better compliments 😭 the 'from 90s movies' part is hard as hell sometimes yeah... I feel like I understand the psyche pretty well but there's so much just general milieu that's easy to just... not even realize is relevant. Of course it helps that most of my readers are also not particularly familiar with the 90s lmao but. Idk I try to keep that post-fall of the soviet union pre-9/11 immense nihilism in mind. Fortunately I have some friends who have a pretty strong lock on the vibe for one reason or another who help too— I assume they'd tell me if it was a 'he would not fucking say that' situation haha. It's funny wrt Martin Vail because I do think I did him pretty passably.. I don't always mesh into characters well per se; like for Tyler, I think I understand him pretty well but it's still tricky to figure out how to actually word what he says — I'm tempted to outsource to @a-forsteri who has a goddamn LOCK on it... we should collab, bestie... but regardless yeah Vail was an interesting one for sure. You only get so much characterization of him in the movie, really. Thanks for reading and I'm really glad you enjoyed it, comments like this are what keep me going fr :')

Me and flips have not been friends ever since I landed on my head/neck during a double back when I was 18, so of course deciding to finally learn a front flip half twist is going to be good for me. Living by the whole "if I'm scared I'll do it scared" thing now, working out well for me so far.

#technique is dodge lmao #the reason i could do a double back was my upper leg muscles are fn strong & will launch me into heaven even if my run up is absolute shite #but my coach at the time believed in 'if youre scared you don't ever have to do it again' so i just never got over that accident #which is why im almost immediately moving into the flip part instead of going UP first #anyway i literally need to commit to pull my hands into my left shoulder instead of letting them faff about and then I've got the twist #we'll work on the ehrm. *neatness* afterwards lmao

Always lowkey simmering a Leverage AU in the back of my head hear me out:

Ted is an ex-insurance investigator who was able to get his son life-saving medical treatment because his first, original Crime Pal Beard was like ‘Ted if your company doesn’t come through with the coverage, we’re doing things my way.’

The company did not come through. The company did let him go due to suspicion of Ted’s involvement in the incident, but Ted will happily remind folks that no charges were formally pressed. Henry is alive and healthy and living with Michelle, who divorced Ted shortly thereafter (not just because of pre-existing marital problems, but because Ted wouldn’t tell her anything about why the doctors “””suddenly decided to do the procedure for free”””). Shortly thereafter, Ted fled the country.

What Ted learned from the whole experience is that there’s a lot of people out there, good people just trying to live by the rules, but sometimes things happen that are just out of their control. And well- if we’ve got the means to help the good people out when no one else will, then shouldn’t we try?

“We’ve got means,” Beard agrees. “And motives.”

They do things Beard’s way now.

#former creepy landlord found another way to try to contact me #blocked him there too but it does freak me out a tiny bit that he's still trying #he would *absolutely* have shown up at my new place if I'd given him any hint of the address when he insisted #I'm. reasonably sure he'll run out of avenues to try before he actually finds me #i don't think there's anyone he can ask for my new address who'd know it #I guess he might try showing up at my university building again but it's a big building with lots of people so I should be able to dodge him #or at least make it so he'd have to make a scene to talk to me #....I also left my bike at the old place bc I moved in winter & it was too icy to take it #& have been avoiding going back for it due to risk of running into him #had just started to consider just going for it at a time he's usually at work but this freaked me out enough to reconsider that #The Landlord Situation #if you are annoyed that that is still a tag I have use for:#trust me I'm even more so

everybody gets on shouto's case for being arrogant before the sports festival but like was he wrong to be arrogant???? if i was trained since 5 and then i enrolled in a school for hero hopefuls who have just started training their quirk, their body, and their minds for the job, god i'd be so fucking arrogant too. everything his peers are learning, shouto already knows!! flying spin kick? boo, boring!! he learned that at six. incorporating your quirk into your fighting? lame, yawn! he's been doing that his whole life. fighting quirkless? his father may be a piece of shit but endeavor is nothing if not thorough.

#am i saying he's right for acting like this? no.#am i saying i understand? yeah #we should've got like a scene where they have to fight quirkless bc #hey what happens when you've exhausted your quirk? or you run into sm1 #with a quirk like mine? think children think #and bakugo still cocky gets paired up with shouto and everyone gathers around to watch #and of course bakugo makes the first move but shouto dodges like he saw it coming #and the bkg makes the second and third and fourth but tdrk keeps dodging and bkg's slowly getting angrier and angrier #and then shouto /moves/. quick as a whip. a punch to the head. a kick to the midsection. he is relentless.#but even through this aizawa can tell shouto's heart isn't really into it. that this is too easy for him. finally it seems likes tdrk gets #tired of playing with bkg and drops down to sweep his legs. bkg goes down with an ungraceful curse. shouto stares down at bkg for a sec b4 #offering his hand and bkg ofc swats it away but the whole class is in awe. how does tdrk just move like that?? how did he just... woahh #anyway bkg gets pissy and is like “you looking down on me?!” and shouto who hasn't even broken a sweat just goes #“you didn't even put up enough of a fight for me to look down on you.”#anyway tdrk shouto you will always be my favorite prodigy #shouto todoroki #todoroki shouto #bnha

#Having a great time btw I've just been chased across a near sea of miasma by stal riders and more! 10/10 nearly died in a high speed chase #Made it out relatively unscathed which is truly amazing lmao #Spoilers ahead: I have had the funniest time doing the great plateau quest chain. Once I sucked it up and made nice with the creepy statue.#He's(?) been alright. Fair trader. Good deals. I've mostly been terrorising kohga in between absolutely failing to craft working vehicles X #His new boss fights are so much easier than the first one lol. Less fun I'll admit but the music is groovy. You can probably make a #Machine and try and dog fight him but with few exceptions the turning circles are decrepit so I just stuck to mild dodging and shooting him #And running over to hit him some more. Kinda bland for a boss fight I'll say. Could have done with a lot more pizazz. It's kohga come on.#Anyway I do feel kinda bad because apparently he's been stuck down there for however many months/years and I AM kinda cheating with the arm #After the first fight he fled to the gerudo mine and the steward very nicely showed me how to get there but never underestimate #My procrastination because I'd already found it by just exploring so I just teleported. Been meaning to draw this for ages, a moment far enough into their future that North has the big snake tattoo already (Higgins is missing the snake on his right arm. Now they match! Two halves of a whole idiot and all that)

The snake tattoo is obviously for Higgins, but a lot of tiny things for other people/events/etc fill in the blank space over time. The "halo" around the snake's head is the four inner planets of the system, using their old Greek symbols to represent them, with the snake's head where the Sun should be
