I guess this is a superhero AU too? IDK. I want to do one of those but I don't have any solid ideas for it yet.

With the... Negativity surrounding the trailer for the new megamind movie/show, my brain's wires started wiring and, welp, here's my idea for a Megamind show: Megamind has to learn how to be a proper hero, and Metroman/Musicman (who is still retired) acts like a mentor, from the sidelines.

Here's a dive into how the villains (evil bernard evil bernard) and characters would work ⬇️

Megamind

He still has the attitude and mannerisms of a villain, as he retains his old personality, but is learning the values of being a super hero. He evil-laughs when winning and such, and also is rather awkward around the citizens of metrocity, but is trying his best. He's still trying to win over their trust.

Metroman

By the end of the movie, I'm pretty sure everyone still believes Megamind killed him, which would definitely hinder Megamind's ability to gain their trust. The general public still thinks Metroman's dead, but there are multiple rumours and conspiracy theories of him still being alive, as he still goes out and could be occasionally spotted.

Villains

Bernard, who is a megamind expert, becomes an antagonist. He has a collection of Megamind's old thrown away machines, plus merchandise. He believes that megamind has lost himself and is "boring" now. As such, he uses the holo-watch (found in Megamind's trash) to steal his appearance and cause Havoc, turning the public against him and "bringing back" the villain he's an """expert""" on. Of course, this plan fails, but he becomes a recurring villain whose objective is to return megamind to his old self. This is either through recreating him (holograms, robots, etc) or straight up trying to manipulate him into going back to his old habits. He's still emotionless and seemingly bored most of the time though. Always having a horrible time.

The Child

Specifically the child from "the button of doom" who gets the dehydration gun and turns his mother into an ice cube. I enjoy the idea of a full on villain bratty child who can't be sent to jail, bc he's a child. (Sort of like the kid from Word Girl and the little girl from Powerpuff girls) He could also reflect how Megamind was as a kid. in the end the child isn't literally evil, just immature.

I'm also changing The doom syndicate from a squad Megamind used to be a part of to fellow villains who Megamind hated. (I know they are based on a cut concept for the movie but it was cut for a reason, megamind shouldn't have been part of a squad at all, he only had Minion, that's kinda the point). My idea is that Megamind was the sort of "main villain" to metroman, and he used to make fun of the rest for being his "side villains" lmao. (I would love for metroman and megamind to have a lego joker-batman sort of thing going on)

Also, what if the villain scene was sort of competitive. They didn't have any respect for each other, and they all worked alone. Until now, considering from their perspective Megamind killed Metroman. They see him as a bigger threat now, and also want to beat him up bc he was the most annoying "fellow villain". As such, they join forces and form the doom syndicate. Although, I do like the idea of them appearing one by one across the show before forming the squad. (Perhaps like a season finale)

Tighten is tricky because he's been dealt with in the movie and it'd be repetitive to fight him again. Although, I think some random scientist villain giving him powers again could have potential, as he's the number 1 Megamind hater and is easily manipulated... Food for thought

Fellas. You ever think about a megamind swap AU where Megamind gets tired of being kicked around and fakes his death? Leading to Metroman instead being the one to go "oh... well, alright" and the city is overjoyed but now Metroman is just bored.

Cause. Megamind recreating Metroman just entails finding someone with a good heart and giving them superpowers, and he messes that up by accidentally picking someone who sucks. But recreating Megamind would entail finding someone who is super smart and talented and then absolutely dragging them through hell until they turn to villainy, which would be messed up if Metroman accidentally picked someone who he underestimated the good heart of. And then Metroman is the bad guy by the end of it, because he's been systematically ruining this person's life in an attempt to make an enemy out of them, which ends with what? His defeat, with Roxanne's help? His victory-- destroying the hero he accidentally created?

Megamind and the Devil of the Metro City AU Chapter 1 - "New life, new city and new family "

" Metro City ", this great and prosperous city is the best place to live and New York kind of disagrees but is fine, sharing its first place with Metro City.

But it's hard because I'm leaving Hell's Kitchen the only home I've ever known and never left, where my father raised me, but Hell's Kitchen was also the reason because his horrors, crimes and corruptions took his life, but Murdocks never give up and Matt still considers Hell's Kitchen, but is now willing. have a second and he would have a family and carry his father in his heart and build the future that his father dreamed of for them and...

"Mattthew"!!! are you well? A professional and calm but gentle voice asked to the boy with slightly messy and straight reddish brown hair, wearing a white striped shirt, thin body and around 10 years old, but he also had sunglasses despite the sun being setting and the darkness of the night already beginning but to take them off when he takes off his glasses they reveal whitened and pale brown eyes because he is blind and he has his red cane with Devil details and also law school stickers, court/justice scales and things related to Boxing in honor of his father.

"That was him Matthew Michael Murdock/Matt Murdock and now it was Matthew Michael Harley Murdock/Matt Harley Murdock, he is the son of Jack Battlin' Murdock, the best, greatest and most famous local boxer from Hell's Kitchen who died after refusing to play the Fixer/Roscoe game which was to lose the fight but Jack who was encouraged by his son, Murdocks never give up!!! and his pride that she screamed loudly that's what led to her end because Fixer and his men killed Jack by shooting him and Matt felt him here and he was there even though he couldn't see he felt it.

Matt was originally supposed to go to Saint Agnes and be under the care of Sister Maggie and then be adopted and have the right to the fight money that Jack left him but James Harley, the Warden of the Metro City Prison for the Criminally Gifted, who was a close friend Jack decided to adopt the boy and raise him as his own and in these 2 weeks of adoption process, Matt became attached to James and began to consider him his second father because James treated him like a normal person and helped him with Braille and homework. and then once he was adopted, Matt hugged him tightly and then leaving New York- Hell's Kitchen and now Metro City, His adoptive father told him that he now has a brother and uncles.

Matt was super happy but what made him curious was that his adoptive father said that his brother was special and was something out of the ordinary that he had ever seen in his entire life.

Kid will like Metro City and you can go for a walk with Blue tomorrow as you two start school in 3 weeks ! James says to try to comfort Matt because Metro City was something new for Matt and blind or not he is a normal boy who deserves to live

Blue???? Matt said confused.

He's your new little brother and we call him " Blue". James says smiling and placing his hand on his son's head.

Matt smiled and was looking forward to meeting the rest of his new family and then as they were passing through Metro City in James' car, Matt's advanced senses picked up the smell, shape, material and extent of a mountain but not just any mountain because it was surrounded by magna and lava, it was rocky and its world flames (as Matt describes it) his senses formed a shape that resembled a red Devil that was chilling and fearful.

Metro City called this mountain "Devil's Keep".

And Matt found it incredible because unlike everyone else, Matt saw this Devil as him because the Devil in the Murdock boys was part of them and the Devil was like him misunderstood by society and being himself and Matt was a good Devil who wanted justice and would help others and it would make a difference for Hell's Kitchen and also now Metro City because he would be the best lawyer of all time and have his new family supporting him

Matt we are coming!!! James spoke calmly as he approached the prison which would be Matt's new home and is where he would meet the rest of his new family.

Minion, give me the wrench!! said loudly dramatically a blue boy about 8 years old and he was dressed in the orange prison jumpsuit and this boy was smart and his mind was huge (literally).

This was "Blue Harley" the adopted son of James Harley who is also the Warden and he is the adopted nephew of his prison uncles and prison guards and now he was finishing his newest invention with the help of "Minion" his fish/brother/caretaker/best friend/ henchman and right arm.

Of course sir!!! Minion says in his usual happy tone while passing wrench.

Wonderful now as soon as I finish this teleportation machine I will revolutionize the world of science, get all my Uncles out of here and rule the business world and become super rich!!!! Muuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Megamind's laugh sounds like evil laughter and a dramatic lightning tone begins, scary silence and dramatic music and Minion joins in and they laugh louder

Blue!!! James' voice echoes up the cell as he opens the door

The blue alien screams like a scared lady because he was caught by surprise

First Son, it's Metro City and New York and secondly this boy who is with me I adopted because his father died and he has no one left and now he is part of the family and he is his older brother now!!!

Older brother? Blue sank into her thoughts and soon perked up.

Hello…. little brother! Matt says excited but nervous because he wants to make a good first impression and that Blue doesn't feel uncomfortable because he's blind.

Blue was nervous because it would be good to have a brother as he never had one, except for Minion but this boy with sunglasses was like him not in appearance because Blue felt his pain and how it wasn't like having a family rather than him being adopted. by Warden/Father and his uncles

Matt meet Blue and Blue meet Matt!!! James said introducing the 2 boys to each other

Now that you two know each other, I think I'll leave you alone in Blue's cell so you two can have some big brother/little brother time and get to know each other better. James leaves kissing his 2 sons on the forehead and he leaves Blue's cell and tells Uncle Willy, the guard in one of the cells to keep an eye on the boys and take Matt to his room when he leaves.

Now that the two of them are alone Blue breaks the silence.

So Matt, since you are his brother, how about we have a chat about brotherhood and family ties, vowing to care for each other and protect them in any situation? Blue says excited because having an older brother was new and now they were a family.

Matt smiles and with his senses he sees his brother's smile that according to the burning world that is mirrored to him he was an 8 year old boy his physical material glowed blue which made Matt identify him having his skin and mass blue and his heart and organisms and sounds he could hear from another world

Why do you wear those glasses Matt? Blue was curious

Well because I'm blind!!! Matt says calmly as he takes off his glasses.

Blue was surprised because he had never seen anyone blind before and also because Matt was being completely honest with him.

And one thing, little brother, promise not to tell anyone because it's the secret that no one knows!!! Matt says

Blue looks at Minion.

He may know too because he is part of the team and the family? Blue asks

That's amazing and that means you're weird like me and it makes us weird brothers who looked out for each other!!!! Blue says jumping for joy Matt is moved because everyone his whole life teased him for being different and this bullying only got worse when he went blind but his father was there and his adoptive father was there too and they told him to never let it get him down because his fight. It's not over and he can always get up and never give up even if he falls thousands of times and now he had someone to share this Matt is hugged by Blue who was holding Minion so he could also be part of the hug.

Matt! I'm glad you're here because I always wanted a brother and now we have you and you're part of the family and no matter what happens we will always stay together. Your little brother says smiling during the hug and Matt felt liquids in his eyes and it was tears because he was emotional.

Blue who is there??????? a voice echoed from upstairs interrupting Megamind's speech and Roxanne swore she heard noises from what sounded like a cane.

Then, going down the stairs, a young man with short brown hair, a trimmed beard, a serious but lively and playful tone is revealed, wearing a gray suit and black tie and the most striking thing are his red glasses.

Minion smiles when she sees Matt and hugs her adopted brother and the second boy Minion swore to take care of besides Megamind/Blue

Look at you, a super handsome attorney with Metro City at your feet in the world of law!!! Minion says praising

Matt laughs

Minion don't exaggerate I'm just an intern with Foggy at Landman and Zack but soon we're going to have our own company/law office!!! Matt says optimistically.

If you need help/money or an assistant, you know you can call us! Minion says showing that he and Megamind will support his path and career whatever comes and goes.

And then I won't get a hug!!! Megamind says pretending to be angry and that he demands a hug so he is swallowed by Matt and Minion's hug.

Megamind!? I think this is cute but can you introduce me to the third horseman? Roxanne asks, leaving the three of them thinking about what to say.

Megamind pulls himself together

Megamind think about what to say without giving too much information to the reporter super beautiful in front of you (because he said it in his thoughts).

He is my new lawyer in case Metroman takes legal action and so you can't sue me!!! Megamind says trying to sound like he didn't just think of it at the last minute

Matt who heard his heartbeat had his confirmation and Megamind tries to maintain his appearance while Minion takes the Spray to erase Roxanne as they need to be in the abandoned Lair to trick Metro man and Matt needs to get back to work

I hope you liked it and there will be more soon and I put names and explained the origins of Matt and Blue's names (which is the name given to Megamind) which came from the nicknames they used since they were little because Megamind felt he had part of his brother with him that's why this name and this castle is the secret lair and home of Matt, Foggy, Megamind and Minion, Matt all this time agreed on money to buy the land because this place is special to them and in chapter 2 you will know why

Megamind still has his observatory/Lair and uses it so Metro man can't find out where he really lives and Foggy and Matt are still working for Landman and Zack and soon they will leave/resign and start their Nelson and Murdock office which will be in building built by Megamind and Minion in the base below the castle that at the mouth of the mountain that forms a devil has a room with a large window that they use as an office and meeting room and soon there will be more and also each chapter will have a bonus from the past or of the Future according to which time in history they are

The phone rang just as Eddie put his guitar down. He sighed, reaching for it and smiled at the name on the screen.

"Hollo?" He purred.

"It's 'hello', sir," Eleven whispered, tapping his shoulder hesitantly.

"Right- Hello?"

There was a sigh on the other side. A deep one.

"Hey. I know you're planning on kidnapping Steve, again, on the third of December, but I happen to have plans for that night so if you could-"

"Postpone-?"

"No, make sure he takes his meds before sleep. He can't eat gluten, so keep that in mind around supper. Oh, and he likes his tea black with no sugar. Got it?"

"I-"

"Okay, cool, awesome, bye, Megamind!"

And with that the line cut off. Eddie stared at the phone for a moment longer, blinking slowly.

"Should we reschedule the kidnapping for the seventh, sir?" Eleven asked, voice quiet and calm.

"N- Yeah, no." He cleared his throat. "Buy earl grey and gluten free cereal when you're out, okay?"

"May I-"

Things You Break

It's difficult, Lady Scott realizes very quickly, trying to raise a child that could accidentally kill you if he hugged you wrong.

Wayne is a very sweet boy, energetic, with bright eyes and a brighter smile, giggling and kicking and clinging to her fingers. The scars fade rather quickly once she gets so many of them, and Wayne eventually learns he can't hold so tight to his mother's hands. It takes some time, some work, but it's worth it the first time they walk through a store and Wayne manages to only dislocate two of her fingers.

She wonders often how to teach him gentleness, when the way she was taught was to run into things herself, the natural consequence of pains being enough to deter her. Wayne, however, takes a tumble down the stairs, and gets back up with nary a hair out of place. There are things she cannot teach him, she knows, things that he will have to figure out the hard way, but the hard way here... Lady Scott can't allow her gentle boy to do something that could end a life.

Her boy is still young. Still learning with simple things. He breaks many of his toys, and a solution presents itself to her.

When Wayne comes up to her again with a broken toy car, tears in his eyes, she takes it carefully and sits with him on the living room floor, showing him the little broken toy and the way the pieces don't fit back together properly anymore.

"You can't always fix the things you break." She tells him. "Sometimes, they are broken that way forever now." He sniffles, staring at the car that was his favorite, trying to imagine a world without it. He's barely four, and thus it's the worst world his brain can come up with.

"Some things can be replaced." She had brought another car with her for this, pulling it from the inside of her house coat pocket. "But they're not the same anymore, are they?"

Wayne shakes his head sadly, sitting on the floor and not leaving a dent this time. She brushes a hand through his hair, and he leans into it, just barely, enough that he doesn't hurt her.

"So you have to be careful, Wayne. You don't mean to, I know, but you're special. You can break things a lot easier than other kids."

He's quiet, but nods slightly, and very gingerly takes the other car form her hand, while she keeps the broken pieces of the other. He's still upset, and she knows the lesson won't stick the first time, but... he's always been good with rewards.

"I'll look for a new one, just like this." She says, and watches his eyes light up. "But you have to make sure that you don't break that one for a month. I'll keep track, but you have to be careful." Wayne nods wildly, keeping his hand loose around the car.

"I, I'll be careful mama!" He crows, and flies up and out of the room back upstairs, back to his toys, and Lady Scott stands, keeping the pieces to pass off to a worker in the house, so they can search for the same kind.

It takes him nearly a full year to keep a car unbroken for the full month. But he does it eventually, and Lady Scott hopes this lesson is enough, that it will be the thing to stick.

But gentleness was easy, in comparison to kindness.

The other alien in his class, the young blue boy who carried a fish and dressed in prison garb, she knew the other kids didn't like him. He was too obviously alien, while her Wayne was more... superhuman, than alien. Wayne knew what he really was, as the pod was one of the few things he couldn't actually break.

But he tries to break this little boy. She tries, at home, to talk to him about it, but nothing gets through to him, he keeps going on about how he was weird, a freak, that he shouldn't be in his school.

Lady Scott ponders pulling Wayne out, home-schooling him, but then the blue boy sets off a paint bomb in the school and it gets all but shut down anyways, when her son carries it off from the foundations into their backyard. He puts it somewhere else when she asks him to, when everyone else has gone home.

When he gets back from that, Lady Scott tries again. Again, and again, she will teach her boy kindness, gentleness, anything to keep him safe. But Wayne says the other kid was weird, that he got up a lot quicker than other kids when he lost himself. Lady Scott takes this opportunity.

It stings, but she does what she must for her son.

So he grows, grows into a teen, one who knows how to be gentle, knows how to be kind about half the time with strangers and kids at school, and barely breaks anyone's bones anymore. She teaches him the same lesson again and again, the things you break cannot always be fixed, and Wayne learns to count other people in that. Eventually.

Wayne learns what his mother's hand scars are from when he's sixteen. He's known he's not the most careful sometimes, but his strength gets away from him. He doesn't break anyone's bones, not for nearly two years now, and the dislocations have been relegated down to just staff. He's rather proud of himself.

But the burning of shame of knowing all the thin needle surgery scars all over his mother's hands are from him? It hurts. It makes the back of his throat taste like bile and burning, and he can't bring himself to touch anything, anyone, for nearly six months.

He keeps her lessons in mind when he can stomach it again, careful barely there touches that are even then still sometimes too much. It hurts, so much, to know he can't hug anyone properly, can't handle anything without them trying to shatter under his hands, but he does what he has to.

The pod he came in, however, is safe. He hasn't ever been able to leave a scratch on it, not for years, and here he can let go just a bit.

He dents the door in the summer between his sophomore and junior year. His mother decides to tuck it away in her closet, and Wayne doesn't see it again.

Years along, he'll float even when it looks like he's standing, so he doesn't dent the floor from walking too hard, he'll hover hand every hug and pat, he barely touches anything, because nothing survives him, nothing gets by unbroken.

But... Megamind does. Wayne pulls his punches, oh of course he does, he can't afford to not, but not nearly as much as he has to with the human villains. He bounces back so much easier than anyone else Wayne has ever fought, and it's...

Well it's not freeing, but it's nice.

He can fight, like he's actually challenged, their battles are fun, for awhile. Megamind bounces back every time with something different, something new, and Wayne can let go, just a bit, a single button on a too tight shirt, and it's so. nice.

Until.

There's a crack, and bile in Wayne's throat, blood on his hands-

Consider: Megamind AU with Heir!Gideon

When they were children (so old enough to remember each other) Glaurica cracked and blabbed about the Crêche Flu to her kin on the 8th. Jod pardoned most of the Ninth, barring the Father, Mother and Great-Aunts, but resettles its inhabitants. Meanwhile, in this process Gideon was discovered - in fact, let's say she stowed along to Harrow's audience with the emperor to argue for shutting the Ninth down completely - and became Kiriona Gaia.

Harrow was raised by an even more embittered Crux (who will serve as our Minion). They are outcasts on their new planet and target the majority of their ire at Kiriona, the Empire's darling.

No thoughts on who everyone else would be. Tbh this all sprung from rewatching Megamind with my tlt brainrot in full swing and going hm...legitimately powerful yet pathetic little goth with flair for the dramatic who never really wanted to destroy their rival...curious

Oh my god. No, this is greatest part: the versatility of this AU. They're both dramatic little goth shits who never really wanted to destroy their rival. No one ever paid enough attention to either of them for them to learn the difference between positive and negative kinds of attention. They both saw themselves as 'evil' or 'outcast' and decided to embrace it with both hands.

Like, we have to change almost nothing for Gideon to be Megamind. She doesn't look Ninth, she doesn't act Ninth, and she makes Not Being Ninth and having dramatic flashy clashes with the beloved superhero of the Ninth pretty much a core tenant of her personality. If you could get any closer to "Child raised in a prison cell for no fucking reason" than Gideon Nav, I'd love to see it. Then she gets away from the Ninth and finds out that most of what she was going for she doesn't actually want, because it was all about the chase. It was all about Harrow. Without Harrow to prove wrong, none of her schemes or goals or achievements actually fucking matter.

But I love this Glaurica Blabs AU. Gideon is discovered at the age of about ten, and John disbands the Ninth House for baby killing crimes. I think he keeps the Reverend Daughter fairly close, because he wants to see what becomes of this powerful creation powered by the souls of dead babies. He's fascinated. But everyone kind of knows that the Ninth massacred their own children now, so Harrow is a persona non grata. She still has her loyal retainer, who hates everyone but her, but aside from that she's pretty much isolated. Her sole purpose in life becomes making sure being a godling doesn't go to the newly re-named Kiriona's head.

This is where it gets really Megamind, imo. Because like Metroman, Kiriona really has nothing against Harrow anymore except that Harrow keeps breaking her stuff and attacking her with skeletons. Her problems are mostly about being a Prince now and how everyone has Expectations of her when she's really just a lonely awkward girl with a sword. Fighting Harrow is a welcome normal distraction from all the new problems in her life now that she's, like, important.

Anyway, Dulcie is Roxy, with a keen investment in the drama and a zeal for digging in and getting to the truth of matters. There is no Hal because that part of the plot literally does not work in this scenario, but also Ianthe is Hal. Dulcie and Gideon aren't involved, but Harrow thinks they are and she's jealous. Ianthe is into Harrow, not Dulcie. Dulcie is into no one, but if she were into anyone she has some complete nerds in a turtleneck and glasses to go on picnics with. Yes, Cam and Pal are Bernard But Real.

So the plot is, Gideon cracks under the pressure and runs away, leaving Harrow under the impression she successfully drove her off, and the instant regret sets in. Obviously, because this rivalry is gay and obsessive in addition to being a substitute for the love neither of them had in their childhoods, Harrow can't just grow a new Prince to butt heads with. This doesn't stop Ianthe from briefly trying to fill the void. Harrow goes to shake down Dulcie to find out where Gideon went, and ends up on a rollicking adventure to retrieve a wayward Prince who does not want to be a Prince anymore, thank you.
