bbc's merlin was literally thee most show of all time they gave us a black actress playing guinevere, one of the greatest queerbaits of our time, katie mcgrath (sword), katie mcgrath (evil), blatant disregard for any sort of historical accuracy, a queer metaphor they publicly said "didn't mean anything", and then at the end they fucking killed king arthur. truly legendary.

My laptop was struggling with this one lmao, I did not mean for the file size to be as big as it was. But anyways, heres camp Merthur being old, gray and fabulous, as it's supposed to be.

i think this is the most heartbreaking scene in merlin, much more heartbreaking then the finale because it shows us how much merlin had change at the end of s5. merlin becomes so dull here, a part of him is dead and it’s crazy to think, that this happens because his priority shifted from magic to arthur.

he no longer cares for the greater good, he only cares about his safety and wellbeing, he cherish him so much he’s willing to shift his own personality. He’s willing to betray his own values, to kill his friends, to kill his own kind, to hide who he is. Just to keep him safe. It becomes unconscious at this point

merlin may think that he’s doing this for albion’s future but he’s lying to himself, he spent the majority of his life lying that he’s blind to his own selfishness.

merlin never realizes that he’s in love with arthur, and it’s both tragic and beautiful
