re lrb i still think about that phone call. it was really one of those "it could be anyone you know" reminders. like how your sweet aunt who always cooks delicious food and gives the biggest hugs still has a warped-enough worldview to believe that not everyone deserves healthcare. the neighbor who always waves hello and encourages you to ask if you ever need anything turns out to be an anti-immigrant M*GA-hatter. a friendly coworker who enjoys your company and got you a gift without prompting turns out to be so brainwashed by zi0nist propaganda that they cant even refer to p*lestinians as such - just "those people. of course i feel bad for those people, but--" it's jarring and maddening at the same time.

This line always cracks me up; ‘For I also am a steward. Did you not know?’ And with that [Gandalf] turned and strode from the hall with Pippin running at his side.

The way he says this is such a Gandalf cunty bitch moment and I see it quoted out of context all the time (very similar to Faramir's 'I love not the sword' schpiel), as if he hasn't just told Denethor that yes, he's right, he doesn't care about Gondor and if it's destroyed it's really not his problem since he's 'Steward of the whole world' or whatever.

"And for my part, I shall not wholly fail of my task, though Gondor should perish, if anything passes through this night that can still grow fair or bear fruit and flower again in days to come."

Struts out as if that's a micdrop moment!!

ugh i get ENDLESS feels about Luke's micdrop line:

I'll never turn to the dark side. You failed, Your Highness. I am a Jedi. Like my Father before me.

because Luke isn't saying he is a Jedi like the Order were Jedi. A Jedi who shuns emotional knots and strives for emotional neutrality. He is a Jedi like his Father, like Anakin Skywalker.

The type of Jedi Anakin was.

Even in ANH he doesnt say he wants to learn from the Order. He wants to learn how Anakin did it.

And he does. In time, he allows married and older Force-sensitives to join his Order, he embraces attachments (and even marries himself and has children in the EU).

And at that pivotal moment in ROTJ: Luke is clearing the guilt and torment of his father - he is holding up Anakin's dream: the dream of being emotionally invested, attached, loving, fighting for that love, and it making him strong and noble. He is holding up THAT dream, the one Palpatine used (and the Jedi Order to a degree in their fear) to convince Anakin he was weak, a failure. Luke is holding up that dream and saying No. No it makes me strong.

And you can't use it to turn me to the Dark. As Luke watches the fleet under attack and Sidious mocks him, tries to use his attachment to his rebel friends to weaken him, Luke uses his love for them to keep him strong, to help him resist. To not give in.

When Vader watches Luke do this-- this alter-ego, this dark Phantom must melt in the acid that is Anakin's psychological resurrection.

Luke doesn't want to be a Jedi like the Order. The Order failed, according to Yoda. Was blinded.

Luke wants to be a Jedi like Anakin was. A different kind of Jedi. A Skywalker. He saves Anakin's soul by showing him, Sidious, and the galaxy that great goodness can come from Anakin's way.

When Anakin is dying and Luke weeps, "But I have to save you," this is what Anakin means when he says:

You already have.

it was in early 2018, yearbook class and my friend would always watch music videos while she worked so one time I asked wtf was she watching and first of all she said BIG BANG. so I was ugh kpop [keep in mind I was like 17 only listening to rap music and lana del rey lol]

but everything I watched was actually from 2017

and my cousin always talked about nct so I would get annoyed but one day she was watching BTS miCdrop and I started watching with her and I saw Jungkook in his camo pants and black long sleeve and I was like WHOMSTTTTTTTTTTT

so then she told me it was bts so I looked them up bc I’d seen them on ig but obv I didn’t care at the time but when I looked at a picture I literally FELL IN LOVE

like I couldn’t recognize any of them but Jungkook and Namjoon 😭 and then i went crazy watching their Ellen interviews, bts run, and billboard performance

I ended up asking my cousin about kpop and she was like “bitch I’ve been telling you kpop smacks.” And I asked her to show me more groups so then I finally listened to nct

but anyways

moral of the story is

Jungkook is literally the only reason I got into kpop and he’s been my ult bias since I saw him 💀 AND EVEN BEFORE I WAS INTO BTS I THOUGHT THAT MF WAS SO CUTE
