Idk who the new dj of the Michael’s craft store radio station is, but I would like them to go back to whoever it was a few months ago. They used to play Conan gray, Ricky Montgomery, MICO, Sabrina carpenter, even Aiden Bisset or Chappell roan on occasion. Now they play songs I only have been popular on TikTok in the last month, uptown girl (multiple times an hour), or the Wicked soundtrack. Please bring back the old dj 🙏I can’t keep listening to defying gravity while I blow up SpongeBob balloons

and it's WILD for them to say the have the essentials like gorl if u had the essentials.. people would've shopped at ur store rather than joann LOL do u have fabric? do u have the wide selection of yarn? do u have have baking products? embroidery? cricut supplies and accessories? likely a bit of most of that but no where near the scale that joann had.

their boldness in this 'marketing' is crazy lol (and not necessarily in a positive way for me bc these CEO's keep throwing shade like this thinking it's a flex, esp in this very serious situation to people's indie businesses that are in jeopardy now in many ways is not really it for me. this gives me ick from michaels and makes me not want to support them but they're the only yarn shop we have nearby now so.. i've heard they're ALSO not in an amazing position so it's even more wild to be like 'hah stick it joann'. we should not be celebrating the loss of such a resource anyway. we're probably about to lose a lot more brick and mortar shops barely hanging on.

another example of companies 'flexing' is i've seen at least two companies making shady 'hiring now' signs as if people are lazy, don't want to work and they're not just actively denying eligible people either to letting robots filter out what doesn't perfectly match their impossible criteria or they're putting fake job listings up to prevent people from actually being able to get jobs so they can continue going 'well people just don't wanna work we're not able to hire people cos they're not putting in applications'. sick of CEOs thinkin they're clever when they're actual ghouls)

as someone who loves michaels and has gotten many craft supplies and halloween decorations from them, it really sucks to see that they used ai art for part of their halloween collection this year

with joann fabrics potentially going completely out of business, i'm seeing so many crocheters sad because they don't wanna shop at michaels for yarn which blows my mind because i LOVE michaels.. u can get so many coupons in the app + the quality of their acrylic yarn is soooo much better than joann's brand. they also carry caron cakes which are incredible. i do think i'm lucky that my local michaels actually has a good yarn section though because i hear that a lot of them are very slim

but it's super sad that joann's is (potentially) closing down because for a lot of people that was the only craft store in their area and now they'll have to shop online or just simply go without craft supplies. i hate hate hate that online shopping has ruined so many businesses
