so as you might know, mickey's entering the public domain on january 1st

what if we did something really silly to celebrate?

i know it's really short notice but we can continue to do it even after the date because well, he's gonna be public domain! so what if...we all made "mickeysonas" and posted them with the tag #mickeysona?

kinda like how people made spidersonas and linksonas and sorasonas but more absurd, something that makes people think...why though

a sona is basically a representation of yourself, so in this case you'd be drawing yourself as mickey! or...mickey as you? minnies are also welcome :]

ANOTHER silly idea i had was to coin a term, a "mickey mouse", meaning an iconic or flagship character. like mario is nintendo's mickey mouse and pikachu is pokemon's mickey mouse. what if we literally just. started calling our main oc our mickey mouse. so show off your story's mickey mouse with the tag #mymickeymouse! will it catch on? probably not. but it would be really funny.

Alright I know I told myself I wouldn't go down this road but fuck it here we go.

The IRL reason for the gloves in Sonic is that it's an homage to Mickey Mouse and rubber hose style as a whole.

What I'm now proposing is an in universe explanation for the gloves: some mobians have extra sensitive hands and gloves are how they handle it. It's kinda like glasses; some people need them and some people don't. No fancy or esoteric reason. Just hands with a few too many nerve endings.

I'm surprised that Disney didn't try to stop Mickey from getting into the public domain this time. I wonder why?

They tried this year in secret, and Congress rejected it, and it was super embarrassing, probably

They received a lot of backlash when the public found out over the years and they didn't want to risk it again

They were more focused on their 100th anniversary (which went badly because almost everything they made this year bombed)

They're retiring Mickey as their mascot (not likely, but it's rumored)

Saving it for next year when even more of his shorts get in the public domain and everyone forgets about it

Willie Mouse: A Fallen Star..

His name was Morty Mouse and he used to be a famous actor in the limelight but he got framed and got betrayed by his corrupt manager and agent that had ruined his reputation behind his back due to their selfish greed and had used his image for their own gain.

It caused him to fall in a deep endless spiral which made him to become disillusioned and cynical with the studio that stabbed him on the back. He later on goes by a new alias known as “Willie” and trying to live his life trying to separate himself from his old life.
