What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I've written some angsty shit, but i think my fic Someone Loved Me But Not Today. It's an open ended fic where Alex and Henry are exes who reconnect at the funeral of Henry's twin brother George.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

All my fics bar the above have a happy(ish) ending.

But probably Henry Fox is Alive because it's so healing to both Alex and Henry.

Hate is a strong word. I've had some slightly nasty comments about characterisation that hurt my feelings lol, but nothing that is intentionally nasty to me or about my writing. Just choices I've made. But it's whatevs innit.

i usually finish my wips actually. but my 1850s australian prison au is on the back burner bc i have others i find easier writing haha

yes love it, but i wouldnt do it bc i only speak english and i dont want to look dumb in front of my international friends. like lots of my blorbos are multilingual!!!!

Five Hargreeves x fem!reader

[Soulmate au]

This is a soulmate au so five is the same age as reader, they're both 18. Also, this is a modern au so five was never in the apocalypse or involved in the Umbrella Academy. This story is prob gonna be rlly cringe 😭 and out of character five, but wtv. "Y/f/n" means y/n's friends name, "f/f" means favorite food, italicized words are the characters thoughts, italic words with quotation marks around them are the writing on the wrist yk, the soulmate thing. "s/n" means soulmates name bc idk what name to choose lol. btw I didn't edit all this so there might be some mistakes scattered around in the story.

Y/n's pov:

The school bell rang as everyone stormed out of their classes into the hallways to go home. Y/f/n's, my friend and I were talking while walking out of school, "anyway, have you heard from your soulmate yet?" they asked. "Umm no, sadly. I don't even think I have one bc they've never tried talking to me," I said disappointedly. "Aww man, that sucks but hopefully you hear from them soon! My soulmate and I had a conversation during class!!" "Wow that's nice what'd he say?" I asked. "He said hi and we talked abt ourselves, his name is s/n and he lives near me!" "Woah, he does?!" "Yeah!!"

We continued talking abt other stuff and I tried to act happy and it worked, but on the inside I was so jealous. I've tried over and over again to talk to my soulmate but no answer. I kinda gave up on it since there's no point if my soulmate ignores me. Or they're dead.... Anyway, I hope they're not but idk, I'll see in the future.

Y/f/n and I parted ways and I walked to my house and opened the door. "Mom, I'm home!" I yelled as I opened the door and took off my shoes. "Hey y/n, how was school? Oh by the way, your sister is at her friend's house." "Oh okay, but school was good, whatcha making?" I said as I walked up to her cooking. "F/f! " "Nice, I'm gonna go to my room" I hugged my mom and walked to my room and plopped down on my bed with a heavy sigh. When am I ever gonna meet my soulmate?

I looked as my wrist and.. WHA-

WTF I SAW SOMETHING ON MY WRIST

I quickly ran over to my desk to grab a pen and replied back "hey!! what does five mean??" I wrote it as fast as I could. "My name is five." my soulmate responded back, ohhh, that's his name I'm so embarrassing 😭 "ohh okay, well hi!! I'm y/n and I'm 18, what about you?" "I'm 18 too actually" "You are?! Great!"

We introduced ourselves and talked a bunch but was interrupted since dinner is ready.

"Y/n!! Dinners ready!" My mom yelled from the kitchen. "Okay, I'll be there in a sec!" I yelled back and wrote to five, "hold on, I gotta go eat dinner so I'll be right back" "okay, see you" "cya later! :D" I added a smiley face. I walked down to the dinner table to my parents. "Hey y/n! How was school?" My dad asked bc he got home from work later. "Hey dad! It was good" "Great, did you meet your soulmate yet?" My dad asked. I told my parents that my soulmate hasn't said anything at all yet a bunch of times in the past. "Actually, my soulmate and I were just talking after I got home!" "Wow, you were? What's his name?" My mom asked me. "His name is five, but I think it's cool" "Do you know where he lives and how old he is?" My parents asked, "he's the same age as me but we didn't get into that topic yet"

After bombarding me with questions we changed the topic to something else while eating dinner. When dinner was done I went back to my room to talk to five, I grabbed my pen and sat down on my bed and got comfortable. "hi five! I'm back" I wrote. "hey y/n, how was dinner?" "It was good! We had f/f, have you ever tried it?" "I've tried that a couple times, it's good" "I know right! What were you up to while I was gone?" "I was just talking to my siblings" what are they talking abt? Me?? I mean, I know I'm amazing but- "ohh how many sibling do you have?" I wrote down,"I have 6 siblings.." "really?? 6?! Wow I only have 1 sister."...

It's 1 am now and we're still talking... wow BUT WAIT I HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW well today but IT STARTS IN 7 HOURS (or whatever time your school starts) " waitt I'm so sorry but I have to go to bed now because I have school in the morning :(" "yeah me too, we'll talk later?" "Of course! well goodnight now <3" I added a heart with my sentence. "Goodnight aswell"

I put my pen down on my bedside table and did my night routine and got comfy in my bed. OMG Y/N WHY DID YOU PUT A HEART THERE THAT'S SO EMBARRASSINGGG HE DIDNT EVEN SEND ONE BACK OR ANYTHING I sighed and turned to my side and stared at my wrist for awhile. I zoned out so I cleared my vision and looked at my wrist again til I saw a heart from five. I smiled to myself. I buried my head in my pillow and kicked my feet back and forth.

I woke up to my alarm and turned it off. I walked to the bathroom and took a quick shower. I got out and took some nice clothes from my drawer to wear.

I brushed my hair and packed my bag. I went downstairs to eat breakfast. "Hey hun, how did you sleep?" my mom asked. "I slept fine" I said while eating blueberry pancakes, "these are good, mom" "thanks, anyway it's almost time for you to leave, you brushed your teeth yet? "No, I will though." After stuffing my mouth with pancakes I brushed my teeth and added some jewelry. I rushed downstairs and grabbed my water bottle from my mom. "Okay bye mom, love you" "love you too, have a good day at school y/n"

As I was walking to school I plugged my headphones in and went on Spotify and played some music. The whole walk to school is about 10 minutes or so, after 5 minutes I saw my best friend, y/f/n so took out my headphones and tiptoed behind them to try and scare them "Boo!!" I yelled as I shook their shoulders. "You didn't scare me but hey!" Y/f/n turned around and walked beside me. "Mhm you flinching says otherwise" I said. "I did not flinch!" They playfully smacked my arm. "You sure did".

After talking we arived at school and we both went to our lockers which were near each others. "Oh right, y/n, did you hear that there's gonna be a new student in our grade?" Y/f/n told me, "No, what's his name?" "I heard some people saying his name is five or something? Idk though," y/f/n said.

"wait his name is five??" I asked as we were putting our stuff in our lockers and walking to our classes. "yeah, do you know him or something?" "YES HES MY SOULMATE.." I whisper-yelled. "WHAT??? NO WAYYY, he is?!?!" Y/f/n whisper-yelled back. I nodded my head, "wow well good luck!! I gotta go byee" "uh-huh... see ya later!" Y/f/n had to go since they had different classes, and we only have 2 classes together :( but I mean at least we have classes together instead of none. I walked into my 1st hour and sat at my seat. There were only some people here, I guess im early. Soon later the class was filled with everyone except there was an empty seat next to me, someone must be absent. I didn't really care though, The teacher walked to the front of the classroom, "Okay everyone please take your seats. We have a new student coming into class today, please come in." The whole class started whispering about him, "do you think they're a boy?", "is he cute?", "Are they a boy or a girl??"... WAIT A MINUTE... IS IT FIVE?? The teacher motioned to the mysterious person standing outside the door to come in. The boy walked in front of the classroom near the teacher. He wore a school boy outfit, like at those private schools, he is cute though. "Please introduce yourself to the class." The teacher asked. "Hey, My name is five and I'm 18." Five said. WAIT WTF THAT'S HIM?!?! MY SOULMATE FIVE?? okay wait wait wait calm down he COULD be a different person that's named five but it's not common to be named five??- "Okay, your seat is next to y/n, y/n please raise your hand." The teacher and five looked at me as I raised my hand. Five's eyes widened for a second then went back to normal. IS HE REALLY MY SOULMATE OMG???- "Oh wait y/n, could you show five around the school?" "Sure" I said while nodding my head and stood up from my seat and walked towards five. "Follow me" I told five as we both walked out of the classroom. And let me tell you, it was so awkward.. 😭

Fives pov:

I sighed as walked into this schools office to get my stuff for my classes. My siblings dared me that if my soulmate and I ever talked then I would have to go to school to try and find them if I could. And well here I am at this boring old school. My teacher for my 1st hour walked up to me and told me to follow them for my class. The teacher told me to wait outside the classroom before coming in. "Okay everyone please take your seats. We have a new student coming into class today, please come in." The teacher motioned me to come in. I walked up to the front of the classroom as looked at everyone in the class and heard whispering about me. "Please introduce yourself to the class." "Hey, My name is five and I'm 18." I didnt wanna say anything about myself to these people, I didn't wanna be here. "Okay, your seat is next to y/n, y/n please raise your hand." wait y/n? like my soulmate y/n?... Y/n raised her hand and I was about to walk over to her until the teacher said something, "Oh wait y/n, could you show five around the school?" "Sure" y/n nodded her head as she stood up from her seat and walked towards me, "Follow me" she said. Wow..

Back to y/n's pov:

As we walked out of the classroom we were walking to the cafeteria. "So five huh?" I said to the boy. "mhm?" GREAT IDK WHAT TO SAY "you're my soulmate?" I asked, "i guess, show me your wrist" five said. I rolled up my sleeve and showed him the heart on my arm. He looked at my wrist and smiled "Yep" said as he looked back up at me. OMG HIS DIMPLES okay y/n stop.. As I was about to put my arm away he grabbed my hand and DAYUMMM HIS HANDS WERE SOFT ASF- "So where are we going to first?" He asked while looking around then at me. OH MY GOD "umm- let's go to the cafeteria"

After showing five around the whole school and talking, school was almost over so we decided to go to the bleachers and sit underneath them.

"So what made you come to this school?" I asked as I twirled a flower around my fingers. "My siblings and I were talking and they dared me that if I ever talked to my soulmate I would have to go to school and try and find them." Five said. Ohh maybe that was what him and his siblings were talking about yesterday. "Oh okayy, well you found me" I chuckled," "mhm.." He looked at me then my lips, UMM- "your blushing" he laughed. "I am not!.." I looked away from him, "You so are" He gingerly grabbed my chin and moved my head to look at him, his face leaning closer and closer to mine as I admired his face features, his dark green eyes looked like stars to me as they looked into mine. Oh god my face is probably a million times redder then earlierrr "Your face is really really red" He chuckled as he pulled away from me. "Hey don't tease me!" I playfully smacked his shoulder, and crossed my arms. "Fine," he said as he grabbed the sides of my face and I felt a pair of lips on mine. MY EYES WENT WIDE OPEN, WIDER THAN THIS PU- (sorry) He pulled his hands away and set them on my waiste as I wrapped my arms around his neck. After awhile the bell rang which interrupted our kiss. We both pulled away and were out of breath. We looked into eachothers eyes, "damn" I accidentally said out loud "damn what?" He asked, "oh wait- uh-" FUCK I MEANT TO SAY THAT IN MY HEAD he smirked as he kissed me again. After making out 😘✌️ I gave him a quick kiss before pulling away and standing up. "umm well school is over we should go" "yeah" he replied while I pulled my hand out for him to grab which he grabbed back. (old ass man) He both walked into school and to our lockers hand in hand and grabbed our stuff out and walked out of school. "Well we didn't have to do any work!" I exclaimed. "Mhm" he smiled. "By the way, which neighborhood do you live in?" I asked, "I think I live in yours, I actually saw you walking to school in the morning" "OH MY GOD REALLY??!?!?" "Yep, I guess it's fate." he smirked, "yeah it really is.."

We arived in our neighborhood and surprisingly his house was just a couple blocks away from mine. We stopped outside his house, "bye five!" I said. "Bye y/n, see you tomorrow" "high five?" I said as I raised my hand for a high five. "Oh my god," five rolled his eyes. "I'm kidding" we both laughed, "well bye see you tomorrow!" I said as I hugged him and kissed his cheek. "bye y/n" five hugged back, as we were hugging I slid a piece of paper that had my number on it into his pocket. I ran backwards while yelling "bye!!" I waved at him while he waved back as he was walking into his house.

I walked over to mine and got out my keys to unlock the door as I opened it. I walked into my house as I set my bag down on the floor and took of my shoes. "Mom, I'm home!" I yelled for my mom. "hey hun, you're home a little late" oh... "yeah im gonna go to my room, love you" "love you too.." I quickly rushed to my room. WTF WAS THAT Y/N SHE KNOWS SOMETHING'S UP SHE WASNT BORN YESTERDAY I took a quick shower and changed into my pajamas with a shirtwrapped around my hair.

I grabbed my computer and my homework and my pencil case. I was grabbing a pencil out of my pencil case buttt I put the pencil back and grabbed a pen instead and decided to write to five. "hey five! Whatcha doin??" I wrote down. A minute passed so I decided to do some work while waiting. *Knock knock* "come in!" I spoke, the door opened as my dad told me, "hey y/n, your mom and I are going to a party right now, we'll probably be back late or spend the night." "Oh okay dad, see you later" "see ya hun, love you" "love you too, dad" I replied while my dad walked out and closed the door. After a couple minutes, I looked down at my wrist again and saw a new set words written in ink on my arm. "hey y/n, I was just making some food for myself, you?" he replied back, "I was doing my homework, what food are you eating??" I asked, "bread with peanut butter and marshmallows" "marshmallows? Is it good?" I asked. Never heard of that combination before.. "Yeah it is, it tastes better than it sounds though" "hmm I wanna try it now!" "You should" "okay I will, I'll let you know if I like it after," "okay" five replied back.

I set my stuff aside and opened my door and walked to the kitchen. I got out some bread, a plate, and peanut butter along with the marshmallows. I opened the drawer and got out a butter knife, then I opened up the peanut butter jar and spread it out on the bread and put the marshmallows on it. I walked over to the dinner table and sat down as I took a bite out of the sandwich. I swallowed the odd sandwich and surprisingly it was pretty good, although I'm not a huge fan of peanut butter it was still good.

After gobbling down the food, I washed the plate and put them in the dishwasher then dried my hands with a towel. I waddled back to my room and lay down on my bed then grabbed my pen and and wrote to five. "Wow" I wrote down."Is it good?" Five asked. "Yeah!! that was actually super good!!" "I'm glad you like it :)" Five wrote down with a smiley face.

After chatting for awhile it was getting late so I told five I'll be doing my night routine. After doing all that, I got everything off my bed and got comfy under my blankets and grabbed my pen."okay five I'm back!" I wrote to five. "Welcome back y/n, by the way, you know you have my number so you can just text me on there" he said, "oh rightttt I totally forgot, sorry." I face palmed myself. "You're good, no need to worry" "oh okay well I'll check my phone right now." "okay, take your time" He wrote back as I got my phone out and went to my contacts and added him back. I changed his contact name to "high five 😋"

Mithrun x Marcille

Second part of my “Dunmeshi rarepairs I will birth with my own hands if I have to” series

Marcille and Mithrun… No no HEAR ME OUT besides chap 94 I think Mithrun was the most emotional when confronting Marcille about the whole situation of her maybe being on the edge of becoming dungeon lord AND he seemed to empathize with her?!! Look at his face! Listen to his words!

He desired to save her. The ex-dungeon lord who lost everything and the newly dungeon lady about to walk herself into a trap and lose everything. They seem very compatible to me attitude wise, without mentioning that they seem to be each other’s type (Marcille’s succubus, Mithrun’s love). Marcille could even put an eyepatch on him lmfao. I feel like his very blunt attitude (most shown when he confronted Thistle about the flaws in his plan and perspective, but also the whole interactions with Marcille at Thistle’s home) would be good for Marcille, both in a ‘convincing her’ way and just in a general relationship & dynamic way. They’re both pretty tragic characters, who need the same kind of comfort imo. They’re mirrors of each other, he reflects what she would become. The Marcille that has been tempted by Power and desires and is left wrecked from it, regrets, is filled with nothing but vengeance. The Mithrun of the past that might yet still be able to be reasoned with, to be saved. People who wanted to live in an utopia with their loved ones. Listen, everyone by the end is left needing to find themselves a new dream and goal, that’s sorta the point with character arcs and it’s very in theme with the series’ message of constantly desiring new things, BUT I just think it’d be cute if specifically Marcille & Mithrun found a new purpose together ok <3 Mithrun could walk over to her to apologize for the murderous behavior and an acquaintance would start from there. Hnng idk idk it’s understated quiet romance and I love that I’m sorry!!

Somewhat related but I think Mithrun overall is a closer allegory to PTSD and brain damage than depression, and ye I do think that would work well with this dynamic’s potential as well- but that’s a topic for another day

Ok btw ship name wise what are we thinking mithrille to be close to “mithril” or “myrtille” which is essentially french for blueberry? Gonna use mithrille esp since it’s an unique word for practicality but there are fun little motifs we could use with their names there

They met each other when they were both at a mental low, and they can get better from there. It’s a special kind of intimacy when you both intimately know each other’s lowest moments idk. They’ve fought to the death like 3 times they can drop the formalities at that point lmao. (she never wanted to kill him btw, only "overreacted” as instinctive self-defense). I love how everyone had to keep pulling Mithrun off Marcille bc it looked so bad and he couldn’t stop going straight for her throat lol

I feel like some people have very strong opinions about this, whether it’s for or against, but I think most of the writers who I follow on here actually don’t use them (barring you of course lol). sure lol i started working w a beta reader back when i was writing atydsp bc people kept commenting abt misused britishisms/how obvious it was that i was usamerican (which was fucking annoying btw lmao) so i was like ok let me see if i can find a british person 2 check my shit...at that point i hadn't made this tumblr yet + was totally clueless in terms of how 2 actually like. interact w any sort of fandom community so i v clumsily made a tiktok account + was like "um british ppl if anyone wants 2 help please dm..." in the endnotes of a ch. + i just got lucky that the person who i connected w ended up being really great + has continued to help me out w other works (hi vi if ur reading this <3)

generally speaking i just ask a beta reader 2 check for any obvious misused britishisms in my chs, but i know some people will look for help w more in-depth editing, plot holes, etc. i guess technical fandom terminology might be "britpick" and not "beta reader" for what i'm doing but...idk idrc what it's called. and later down the line when the first person i connected w was too busy i found someone via tumblr after i'd started interacting more w ppl + sort of had a bit more a community (hi mayane if ur reading this <3) so now i have. two really great people who help me out who i've just become pals w over time <3

He wasn't sure how it happened. He could recall when, however. As cheesy as it may be, Karlheinz' first taste of them was, for some reason, one of the things he'd craved the most since a long time. After he had gotten just a taste of their blood for the first time, it almost drove him mad with how much he wanted more. Not only because controlling that itch is difficult (though not exactly a struggle for a more powerful vampire such as himself), but also because he couldn't put a finger on why. Why did their blood taste like nobody else's he's had? It was almost annoying with how Karlheinz' thoughts were busy running constantly, the taste stuck in his mouth yet, there was none of it.

It was dangerous. For both of them.

If the king started to lose himself even more, which he already was, for some reason he couldn't piece together, which then added yet another thing to his mental, and physical torment. Something in him snapped that very first bite, and ever since, the man has felt himself lose his grip on both himself as well as reality. Even if he had indulged, the more frequently he did so, the more likely death was to approach his beloved.

And for whatever reason, even daring to think about living without them was painful. He felt as if he should keep them isolated, protected from his desires that only got greedier day by day. Was it fear? Karlheinz did not believe so, but what he did believe was that this had to end. Before he truly went mad. Before they die. In which Karlheinz would tear them apart, savoring their delectable, deadly blood for the last time. Perhaps it'd be better that way. If they no longer existed in the world, it would make things so much easier for Karlheinz.

This likely wasn't love, Karlheinz knew so already. But did it matter? As long as he could keep them to himself, with no one to interrupt.. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad. For it to just be the two of them, his sweet little thing that makes the man want to succumb constantly. 

To be rid of them was definitely the best option, if both Karlheinz and his precious prey held any value for their life. This sudden downslide of his sanity was a first, and every possible way he could think of for handling it did not please him. If Karlheinz kept them, they’d be completely drained after a point of time. If he disposed of them, there’d be an emptiness to Karl that couldn’t be filled. Letting them live but keeping a distance from Karl would not work, either. The thought of anyone else drinking their blood was almost... painful.

There was another option, however, if such thing was possible. 

To turn them. To stake his claim over them forever.

There were to many options. None of which he wanted to pursue, really. He wasn’t sure about any of it. He wasn’t sure how they managed to beguile him in such a way.

What he did know was that this obsession he had over them- the way they had him completely spellbound, somehow- was frustrating. And, it was definitely not going to last for long.

In the perspective of this brooding vampire, love at first sight was nonexistent. The way he treated his prey almost said otherwise, though it certainly wasn’t love. Nor did it have anything to do with sight; rather, it was taste. He had always been an obsessive man, an obsessive lover. It was almost inevitable for everyone he managed to get close with. The number of such is low, for sure, especially for being someone his age, but regardless, this has happened before.

Unlike his awful brother, Richter could expect this. He foresaw it the moment he even considered drinking their blood. It wouldn’t be the first time, and, if they are able to survive his obsession, which was already pretty intense, then hopefully it’d be the last. It also wouldn’t the first time he’s said such a thing.

To his own dismay, he knows this should end. He’s not concerned for himself, but his beloved, rather. As odd as it may seem, the man has loved before. His view of love may be just as strange as the rest of his family, but did it matter? His love also just so happened to be one of the reasons he was thriving, both figuratively and literally. Blood was a powerful thing, and after so many years, Richter could admire it, at least slightly. At the very least, he was thankful. 

However, in this case? Their blood was purely his. He knew this, yet, he worships it. He worships them, for being his, for being such a bewitching creature. Maybe it wasn’t just them, perhaps it was just his nature to dive deep into any sort of attraction he develops. Maybe it was something else completely. 

He knew what he had to do. It would be merciful. The ‘humane’ thing to do. 

As if he had morals. 

His love was not safe near him, and truthfully, it was a genuine concern whether or not they’d survive Richter’s never-ending hunger for everything they had to offer him. Blood, body, soul. But, he wasn’t strong enough to do so. They were his weakness. 

And he planned to keep them for as long as possible.

Of course.

Fate was not kind to Richter, and he was aware of this. Yet, it seemed the world was not content with allowing him to not compete for love. 

If this was even a matter of ‘love’. It was definitely arguable- he enjoyed their company, sure, but whether their company beat their blood taste? There was a clear winner, for now, anyways.

Yet again, the younger Sakamaki must fight for what he desires. Because, naturally, his elder sibling yet again had no need to fight for anything. It was them. The one Richter had grown ..attached to, putting it lightly. And what does Karlheinz do? Swoop in and try to seduce them into his own arms?

It was horrid. But, unsurprisingly, not the first, and definitely wouldn’t be the last. It seemed to be the way the world worked- Obviously fate favored Karlheinz over Richter. Surely.

Karlheinz did not believe so. Was there an issue with seeking out what you desire? Karlheinz knew what good blood tasted like, had sampling plenty throughout his life. He just had an eye for it, you could say. Apparently, this was something he had in common with his brother- the dark haired man had a knack for picking out good prey, something Karlheinz couldn’t deny. So, why wouldn’t he try to get a taste? 

In Karl’s eyes, if they truly were a good little pet, they wouldn’t need to even think of any options. Why refuse him? He could show them a world so much better than any way his brother might have already.

Unfortunately, as lovely as it may be, at least for Karl, the two brothers can’t fight forever. Eventually, one of them will give up, despite both of them sharing yet another similar characteristic- determination. Ambition. Stubbornness, even. 

It’d be a constant tug-of-war over the prey, and at some point, their toy might lose themself before they choose one brother over another. Neither Sakamaki will allow for it. They belonged to them. Not both, exactly, but with the rate in which things were happening, neither were going to give up any time soon.

Perhaps all three would just have to get used to endless sharing.

3 (in this one they're technically older than in canon), before the war they meet many times (from 10 to 15/16y), then the war happens: they meet again during these events, (the Covey didnt partake in the war in the novel, but im still deciding though if Lucy Gray'll choose a 'side' to help or not...edit 28/01: she will pick a side hehe and not its Coryo's) ...(...maybe , after, the angst during the war, then the 13 win and they meet at opposite side of the line...and then forced to be together due to the new 'Games'.?????..bruh i have so many tropes and AU mixed in this one)

4 okay, so this is a Star Wars AU...(not Anidala i swear...they just...dont fit them i think) so idk if you watched Rogue One, but it'll be loosely inspired by this movie...

5 College/University AU, where Coryo is forced (literally, he is blackmailed by professor Highbottom) to tutor Lucy Gray otherwise he (C. Highbottom) wont valid his stage/work (or smt like that idk precisely yet since i dont know a damn thing abt American or British university ) - and he choose Lucy Gray especially for him bc he knows Coryo'll be pissed abt it and wont succed (well, he thinks he knows Coryo wont succeed, but little did he know...) so Coryo not exactly happy abt having to tutor this...girl. (pretty snobby abt it too)...their start is very...rocky...(i have written their meeting scene (well, the official meeting) already )

6 (edit 28/01: this one is very shitty i hesitated to let it on this post but here take what my snowbaird brainrot managed to imagine lol) ...due to the fragile 'peace' between districts and Capitol after the war, the new government decided to send children/teens/adult to differents district or Capitol (a sort of 'exchange'.... well and also 'you start doing suspicious things, we have your people in 'hostage' kind of thing) and for them to live in it (for a limited amount of time), and if they succeed without raising any problems, they can come back 'home' (little did kid Coryo know he will end up loving district 12....not right away of course, right now hes rather angry, disgusted by 12 and a condescending little shit... )

So. Coryo come back just to see his only (with Clementia of course) friend doing buddy buddy with Lucy Gray. Lets say hes not happy....

10 Im sure others already thought of this one, but if Highbottom was more of a close 'mentor/fatherly' figure to him after the war??? ( not only, but also manipulating Coryo to his own ends)

Hey guys! Gonna give a lil update (both a mini life update and a update for the au stuff):

Tumblr is still messed up for me (currently posting this from pc) so I’m guessing it has to do with the bells they added to the dash considering that’s when it happened, so I’m assuming it’ll be back once they take them away, but if not I might have to go to staff or something we’ll see 

Anyway I got hat game on my pc for Christmas! but it sets my laptop on fire and runs very badly lmao so I’m probably gonna see if I can get a gaming computer for my birthday so I can play it properly 

Also sorry for not being very active lately, we went on vacation but I got sick afterwards and then a big snow storm hit, so just got a bit overwhelmed from all that happening one after another lol, I’m not sick anymore thankfully but the snow is still around 

In au related news as y’all know I’ve hit some art/writing block lately, so I’ve not started on the next prologue chapter just yet but thankfully I did get the plot of it figured out in a discord call, as I had been struggling to think of how it would play out bc it’s gonna be a A B plot situation, but I finally got a way for it to work out nicely ^^ so I got a little outline of the events jotted down, just haven’t started on the actual thing yet 

So after that chapter the prologue will be finished and so things can flow into the main fic, speaking of the main fic you’d assume I’d start working on chapter 2 after finishing the prologue and you WOULD be right, but I recently decided I want to go back and edit/rewrite chapter 1 just bc my writing improved so I wanna add extra scenes or better descriptions etc etc so it’s getting a revamp but not an outright rewrite just bc that thing is way too long to redo it entirely 💀

Also on the topic of writing i kept having the issue of thinking all the chapters outside of snatchers prologue chapter (heartburn) where all not the best writing, especially compared to aforementioned snatcher chapter that had way higher writing quality, I originally just chalked it up to being in the zone™️ when writing that one, but I realized I think it MIGHT be because it’s the only one not being adapted from a comic, all the others had comic or tumblr related things tied to them, but the snatcher fic was all it had going for itself, thus it had more descriptive words or spent longer on events etc because it didn’t have anything to go off of, where as the other fics ended up accidentally feeling more akin to scripts to me in how they did descriptions, ESPECIALLY forget me not because it’s literally just word for word event for event the same as it’s comic form, not sure if I’m making sense but what I’m getting at is that I’m glad that after this next chapter we are in completely new territory! No comics or ask blog stuff is tied to any of the chapters to come, so perhaps this will mean their writing will improve because they’ll only have the words to rely on, like I said idk if this little rant was necessary I just enjoy talking about my writing process is all 

But uh yeah tldr: next fic chapter will happen eventually, after that I’m going back to redo the first main fic chapter, and sorry I didn’t get to do any holiday art but maybe I will last minute do some doodles I dunno lol, OH, and I still gotta figure out a follower milestone event bc I’m super excited about it!^^ like I said of anyone has suggestions I’d love any ideas!

Since this is mainly a BLOG and not just a random social media page, it will be easier for me to organize the tags as if this were a more traditional blogging site. So I will be trying to keep the tags as few and as relevant as possible.

I can't remember any other names so those are it for now. I’m more of a “tag and go” kind of person and I like my tags to be easy to write.

I try not to write long blog posts on tumblr anymore but I think the whole "leosagi-leochi tag clogging" point brought up in the "Why do we ship leosagi" video is also just a good point abt how we don't really treat blogs like blogs anymore. every sort of behaviour online has become so influenced by the want to make it trend or have it at least be read at all ("social media" aspect of online behavior now) that even stuff like ao3, a fanfic site, will have tags like "AO3 algothithm, PLEASE be nice to me" when sites like that don't even HAVE algorhithms. it's interesting to think about but also a bit sad on the side because that "tag clouding" does seem to be the only way for some works to become noticed on the above-mentioned actual social media sites. this almost makes me miss sites like deviantart and blogger because things always felt more centralized and easy to find vs twitter, insta or occasionally even tumblr.

personally i only know three people who play genshin on their phone, but two of them are samsung users lol. my old laptop would heat up like crazy (i mean... it’s like 8 or 9 years old at this point) but with my current laptop i hardly have any issues regarding that. that said i’ve still got to play on low graphics settings because it just lags a ton otherwise, but i hardly mind that. (tho i haven’t been able to play genshin in weeks bc it keeps crashing for some reason :( i’m waiting it out & hoping an update of my laptop will fix it but who knows. i might get a ps5 for christmas though so i’ll at least be able to play it on there ig? and maybe sooner on a phone bc i definitely need a new one even sooner.)

I've been looking for someone to who writes about nishinoya bcs that little man has an unexplainable hold on me and the way you write is just SO comforting and fun to read!

I have a couple of drafts in my word document but its been such a long time since I've last written sth and mostly it was only ever for myself to read, so I'm a bit nervous to upload anything.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you start writing and eventually posting it online?

I've just always loved writing. I'm literally always writing. I write small things on my notes app, word doc, notebooks. I probably have twenty-thirty fics I'm too lazy to edit or just not satisfied with enough to post and a ton half-deas/random dialogues in my notes app lmao

I've read a lot of guides/articles on my own. I know my weakest areas, so when I'm reading books I pay attention to those sections to learn

I think I started posting because some of my ideas gave me a lot of emotion when I wrote them. I thought if I felt that way someone else might too and that was worth sharing. I mean, I had so many ideas for Noya and he had WAY less content. I felt like I could fill a void for people like me with brainrot at the time lol

idk if it gets less scary haha I'm always nervous. But even if people hate it, I know I'll love rereading it which is worth it

some tips for writing blogs, especially those who are just starting out. these are some things that works for me and may or may not work for others.

how to add a read more link on mobile

type :readmore: on a free space, then hit the enter or return button

personally i think they’re very helpful because it lessens the space you take up in your dash, and might encourage more people to rb

+ you can also add this on a spot where it gives a sort of cliffhanger, essentially making people want to ‘read more’

headers, banners, and dividers

though not necessary, it’s good to have a title for your work. make sure it’s bold and doesn’t blend in with your notes (aka pairing, warnings, etc.). this also helps when someone wants to look up one of your works in your search bar

i don’t really make banners or covers for my works. but some good apps that i know of would be picsart and canva. if you’re looking for ideas, i definitely recommend going into canva

wondering how to make those really small, thin dividers? you can make them using picsart! to make a divider hit tools > free crop > brush > size (adjust it to your preference > then draw a line along the edge of your photo > save

using the divider you just saved, go back to picsart and edit it again > draw option > hit rainbow square at the bottom left corner > hit suction/droplet symbol right below the check mark > color in the white spots bc for some reason picsart glitches and makes dividers look white-ish

new blog? just opened an account?

this is gonna sound really frustrating. but... tumblr needs to check if you’re a bot or not. what does this mean? it’s likely that your first few posts won’t show up on the search bar. you may not even get to edit your header/pfp yet ://

this happened to me and there was no visibility on my account at ALL. what helped me get ‘verified’ is that i followed a LOT of accounts, liked a bunch of posts, made some posts here and there. now that lets tumblr know you’re not a bot

the tumblr tagging system usually only allows the first 5 tags in your post to show up. so, what can do you about this? only use FIVE or less tags in your post. wait about 15 minutes or more until you can add some more tags in your post, and they usually all show up like that

another important thing about using tags is not to generalize! especially if you’re using a popular tag. but also don’t specify it too much where barely anyone looks it up. for example, if you’re writing a gn piece about oikawa, i recommend you use the tags such as: oikawa x reader, haikyuu x reader, oikawa x gn!reader, haikyuu headcanons, etc

a good rule of thumb is to use character x reader tags first, then leave the full name or fandom tag last

FOR NSFW: tumblr doesn’t let any tags with nsfw show up. so, give your nsfw works another tag. maybe #namegetspicy idk, you figure it out

FOR WARNINGS: especially if you’re a dark content creator, i highly encourage you to add tw:xyz tags. if you already have a warning note at the top then that’s great. but even better for readers who prefer to actually block these tags that way they never get to see it

another important thing to note is that people have different timezones. it helps if you rb your work at a different time of the day, in case people missed it! (icymi) i’ve noticed that reblogging helps to make your post show up in the tags

interaction + feedback

first and foremost, you are not obligated to write for your followers, and neither are your followers obligated to interact with you. remember that everyone has their own individual lives, and they have their own things to do— so do you, too.

make friends! become mutuals with other writers, visit their ask box. i know it can be daunting having to initiate these things, but you might just turn out to have fun! you can’t expect people to interact with you if you’re not interacting (back). it’s... kind of a two way thing yk? no need to be afraid to interact with other writers. oh, and rb other writers works!

pspsps join tag games or do ask games. it’s fun and very interactive

it never hurts to ask for feedback. i usually do this in a more subtle way because i don’t really expect a full on analysis on my works. maybe a little, is this okay? or feedback appreciated. sometimes it takes a little bit of coaxing for the silent readers

formatting your posts and blog

i generally put in the title at the top in big, bold letters

then comes the header/divider. helps to make the post more... visually appealing ig?

it’s important to add warnings (if any) and the pairing. the audience is not all female, and it might be a little frustrating for male readers having to find out its an x fem reader piece like halfway through your fic

if you have multiple works posted, it’s really really helpful to have a navigation page!

you can organize the posts you make with tags! for example, if you’re shitposting, you can use a specific tag for that. if you have a nsfw related post (ESPECIALLY when your blog is open to the general audience) please make a tag for it

themes + colors

if you have a color in mind but don’t know which direction to go from there, i recommend looking up color + aesthetic

looking to use the same color? download a name color app that’ll give you a hex code for any color you want to use. then, you can type in that hex code for when you’re choosing a color for your tumblr bio

wondering how to make your header image small like mine? just choose a photo for your header and turn off the stretch image option

want to use a different text color that tumblr doesn’t offer? it’s not as complicated as you think. you’ll have to go on a desktop to do this and do some html (but trust me, it’s not very difficult). look up “HTML noob but trying my best - how to use colored text on desktop”

^^ i don’t have the link for the color text tutorial so you can try looking it up

how to make an aesthetic navi and masterlist

step 1: decide a theme! if you’re stuck, think about a character + color/season/mood or look up “[insert] aesthetic” to find some inspiration. or you can try looking at other blogs too

step 2: find a color scheme! it’s easier if you choose fewer colors. if you want to use the same color for both divider and text, download a color name app in order to get the hex code of that color.

step 3: add categories to your navi! most navigation pages include a link to masterlist, about/byi, and rules. your navi should have a title that indicates that it’s... a navigation page. you can add thin colored dividers with the same color to make it easier for followers to navigate

step 4: you can choose to create a ‘cover’ or a picture for your navigation and masterlist! again, i recommend you use the canva app as a starting point

extra: search up emoticon symbols to spice up your titles!

reminder for you as a writer

you’re not obligated to do any of these things. i’ve noticed that we tend to build pressure on ourselves when it comes to content and interaction. remember, this !! is !! for !! fun !! when you realize that it’s no longer fun, then know that it’s time to take a break. and there’s nothing wrong with a bit of self care.

Hi hi! So the lost tombs and chronology all super confuse me. So tlt2 ended on a cliffhanger that was not resolved by tlt3 which is ultimate note, but now there is another tlt3 that I am guessing is made by the same studio as tlt2 (but not UN) that actually follows tlt2? And it has the same WPZ as tlt2 (but sadly different WX, ZQL though I’m sure these guys are great). You seem to know what you’re talking about so I’m hoping you can help!

UN also ended on a cliff hanger so I’m wondering if they’ll get a sequel from their studio that comes before tomb of the sea.

ahhh hello anon! yes ahaha the dmbj dramas are certainly very confusing--because they keep switching the screenwriters/entire production team between dramas. huanrui did tlt1 (2015), tlt2 (2019), and the sequel to tlt2 (2021). they're also technically the production company for un (2020), but linghe did like all the directing/casting/writing so its significantly different in tone and quality from the other dramas huanrui produced. npss (dmbj author) did sha hai (2018) and tltr (2020), with sha hai being in collab with linghe, so you can see lots of parallels with un and shared cast. (gonna add that i dont know much about the m9 because that’s not what im personally interested in, so i’m only going by stories with wu xie & the iron triangle.)

unfortunately, the dramas pretty have no continuity as a result of all the weird shit and multiple studios doing different dramas and messy stuff going on behind the scenes. the author's production company currently has all the rights back for filming future dramas, which is......imo, a good thing for book fans who love the author but a 😬 thing for book fans who like the original story more than what the author is now doing with it. I'll uh avoid saying too much opinion stuff though so no more on that 😅

that aside! yes 云顶天宫 “explore with the note” part 2......is the direct sequel to tlt2 and done by the same studio. unfortunately the writers are different and im not sure how much of the production team is the same either. idk how much you know about the novels so brief summary here--for the chinese version, the main story has 9 parts split among 8 books (though the official eng tls have each part being a different book) with some important content being as follows:

official eng title “cavern of blood zombies” (first time wx goes into a tomb, first t3j meeting)

official eng title “angry sea, hidden sands” (xisha seabed tomb, introduce a-ning)

official eng title “bronze tree of death” (bronze tree in qinling, wx & lao yang solo adventure)

official eng title “palace of doom” (heavenly palace on the clouds, introduce bronze gate)

official eng title “deadly desert winds” (golmud, introduce hei xiazi, desert, rainforest, tamutuo)

official eng title “graveyard of a queen” (the rest of that arc, wu sanxing & xie lianhuan reveal, jade meteorite, amnesiac xiaoge and escape, sanshu vanishes for good--also i think the official eng tl covers a couple chapters of the beginning of the next part too)

阴山古楼 (searching for xiaoge’s memories in banai, miluotuo cave, i think introduction of wu erbai)

邛笼石影 (auction/hotel iron triangle fight, introduce xiao hua & xiuxiu, wx & xh on the mountains alone while pz & xg go with granny huo)

finale (rescue from zhang family mansion, changbai mountain goodbye, 10 years promise)

after the main story are the main sequels:

zang hai hua (tibetan sea flower; unfinished & abandoned) covers wu xie a few years after xiaoge has entered the gate, searching to understand xiaoge’s past

sha hai (tomb of the sea; unfinished & abandoned) covers wu xie’s plan to wipe out the wang family, after zhh

chongqi (reunion: the sound of the providence) covers wu xie’s lung disease and how he recovers from that, set after they pick up xiaoge again from the bronze gate. thunder city and everything.

灯海寻尸&万山极夜 (still updating on wechat) don’t worry about this one since it’s still a WIP lol

btw between sha hai and chongqi there’s also ten years later (a short story) that covers how wu xie and pangzi pick up xiaoge from the bronze gate and take him home

the dramas Do Not Connect To Each Other At All, which the exception of tlt2 & tlt2 pt2 somewhat, but they go in this order:

盗墓笔记 / the lost tomb 1 (2015): covers part 1 but with major OCs and filler, and includes the auction scene from part 8 for some reason, so introduces xiao hua early.

怒海潜沙&秦岭神树 / the lost tomb 2 (2019) technically “explore with the note”: covers parts 2 & 3 but with major OCs and filler, introduces xiao hua & xiuxiu (and hei xiazi briefly) early. last couple episodes also cover the beginning of part 4. not a direct sequel to tlt1 despite being done by the same studio.

云顶天宫 / heavenly palace on the clouds (2021) technically also “explore with the note”: covers part 4 with major OCs and filler (and the same changes carrying over from tlt2). some episodes are identical to the last couple episodes of tlt2. works as a direct sequel only if you ignore the last couple episodes of tlt2 that take place in the snowy mountains. (those episodes of tlt2 were filmed after this drama was filmed, and im still not sure why they dragged the wu xie and xiaoge from tlt2 back to changbai mountain to film those episodes.)

终极笔记 / ultimate note (2020): covers parts 5-8 with minor OCs and minimal filler, also introduces xiao hua & xiuxiu early. the only adaptation that resembles its source material most of the time.

沙海 / tomb of the sea (2018): covers the second sequel with major OCs and filler. includes some bits from zhh and the short story “three days of silence”.

重启之极海听雷 / the lost tomb reboot (2020): covers third sequel with major OCs and filler.

in addition there is the prequel series mystic nine (2016) and side movies for the dramas that the author produced. there is also a single standalone movie--time raiders (2016) that is....well it’s. very strange. it’s fully subbed on youtube if you’re interested?

the best way to watch the dramas is to assume each one is its own self-contained AU set along different points of the dmbj timeline because even the dramas the author himself worked on don’t have continuity LOL (and with the exception of ultimate note & sha hai most of the time, also assume most characters are pretty OOC from the novels).

i uh regret to inform you though, that ultimate note will not be getting a sequel unless the author magically decides to not care about making money anymore and sells the rights to film the finale to linghe or something ^^;;;; it’s....unfortunate bc un is the most highly-rated dmbj adaptation on douban by A Lot, but it’s an adaptation that the author had literally nothing to do with whatsoever.
