Overview: Headcanons on a cottagecore life with Mikasa Ackerman Theme: Fluff, modern au, rural living, Fem! Reader A/N: This is inspired from one of the many times I shifted realities with her. This is my first time posting my writing and I’m sure I still have a long way to go so pls bear with me 🥲 Looking forward to some feedback, hihi <3

ꕤ You used to live in the hustle and bustle of the city. Though it was fun, joyful, and lively, it was also etched with selfishness, chaos, and worldliness.

ꕤ The two of you grew up together, admiring each other from the start. She was with you and you were with her. Your hearts are knit together like a puzzle, attached to the hip, always inseparable.

ꕤ You were able to view the majestic city lights, walk in enormous buildings, listen to the jolly chittering and chattering of the crowd. You witnessed pleasure and happiness… 

Deep inside, your heart still willed for home. 

ꕤ Once you were both stable, you wanted to pursue one of your dreams of finding a place with peace, safety, and comfort. Just like how you feel with each other.

ꕤ You traveled west, to find a peaceful place. One that you can handle, sustain, admire, and protect.

ꕤ You spent months, traveling day and night to find this rural place, to build a cottage, and stay with her.

It wasn’t too flashy and elegant, it was what you just needed.

ℝ𝕠𝕦𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕖:

ꕤ She would lie on your chest/ vise versa but most of the time she would wake up first just to adore you 🥺 

ꕤ I’d say she’s a very light sleeper and she usually observes her surroundings and it became subconscious for her to wake up before you.

(There’s just the instinct inside her to protect her babyy <3)

ꕤ She would stroke your hair, adoring how the newly-risen sun shines on your skin. She glances at your body, glad to have found you and to be loved by you. In her thoughts, I’m sure she is down bad frrrrr (And I failed to mention, the sweet nothing she would whisper into your skin 😏)

(and damn, it’s 7am but her heart flutters at the thought of how adorable you look, vulnerable and fragile in her arms !) This takes like 30 minutes cuz idk she just loves you that much

ꕤ She will give you tiny li’l pecks when she thinks that it’s time to get out of bed, kissing you all over your face, greeting you a “Hunny, wake up now! Time for another day~”

You will be all grumpy at first but once you finally adjust your eyes to her, you’re a simp as well. And it gives you the sudden boost of serotonin to get out of bed 🤣

ꕤ Soon enough, you both are gonna feed the animals together. Likely, you guys would have a few chickens, ducks (on a river. yall just randomly give em some), 4 cats, 1 protector dog, 2 big doggos that act like a cat (they're vv lazy), and 2 horses. Mikasa would let them roam around for a while after their meal 

ꕤ Around mid-morning, you finish eating with her and she heads off to the woods to hunt some food and fill in on the supplies. To bargain, you will plant some trees and some plants nearby with whatever seed you have around.

ꕤ Upon waiting for her arrival, you would usually cook her favorite dessert, either cinnamon buns, strawberry cookies/ croissants, apple pie, a cake, etc. 

In your spare time, you'll sew/ crochet/ knit, do a bit of laundry, and/ or read a chapter or two.

ꕤ She arrives, ofc she'll anticipate a li’l kiss on the cheek as she enjoys her treat.

ꕤ On golden hour, I could see that as the perfect time for strawberry picking. You both would sometimes have mini picnics there. And go on a mini swing y'all have built in.

ꕤ As you both head back to the cottage, you sit by the waterfalls nearby. Sometimes, you would fetch some water but at times, you'll just be enjoying it, splishing and splashing.

ꕤ Come evening, you will be cooking but now with her. You give the animals some of their food and tidy up their areas.

ꕤ You clean up yourselves, preparing for bed. And you both doze off to sleep, after having a small pillow talk about how the day was.

ꕤ Sometimes, you wake up before sunrise just to walk around and explore. 

ꕤ As seen from when you both woke up, she’s very protective. I’m sure that she would literally argue with you over the smallest things, like slicing too near to the knife, going near a thorny bush, running off to a deeper end of the woods before her, and touching random things you’re fascinated with.

ꕤ You named some of your animals rooted from the things that connect you (e.g. a fav character yall share, ship name you previously had off each other, fav food)

ꕤ She dedicates a flower/plant she encounters to you.

ꕤ She may act all tough and stern when she’s serious but she has a soft spot for u

ꕤ She brings you to hunt sometimes, but she’s extra scared and anxious when her hands are full

ꕤ If you do stay home, one thing that she also likes doing is kissing your nape when you’re doing something as she arrives.

ꕤ She oddly likes to sniff you sometimes… But hey, she likes your pheromones !

ꕤ You guys have matching Polaroid cameras and you would sneak pics of each other when given the chance. (And you have 3 albums of them)

ꕤ Overall, it warms her heart to see how happy you are. She appreciates your infatuation with nature.

like , okay , eren being that one guy that everyone knows but no one ever really talks to. people smile at him and greet him in the halls but he’s only ever with you, mika and armin between lectures. he’s a sports science major, he’s always at the campus gym or in the library on his laptop doing research. like he’s actually so good at what he’s into. he always has his hair half up, half down, he has a dog tag with his mum’s name on it and he has this wooden bead bracelet he never seems to take off. when he’s nervous [ usually when exam results are being passed out] he’s always fiddling with it. sometimes if he’s REALLY dazed he’ll have his dog tag between his lips and his pupils are all unfocused. he wears a lot of black, mainly heavily distressed jeans, sweats and jumpers. !!! IS A VANS GUY!!!! he draws on the sole of them and has yours, mikasa’s and armin’s names on them. </33333

armin who is a nursing student that i could literally ingest fully. he’s shorter compared to eren, he’s more well known because of how sweet he is and girls LOVEEE HIM. everywhere y’all go girls greet him and compliment his outfit, he’s always so bashful about it and sometimes eren will absolutely RUIN IT LIKE😭😭 “morning armin!!! i love ur hair today!!” “ good morning!! thank u sm urs is pret-“ “ hEYY ARMIN REMEMBER WHEN YOU PISSED THE BED💓💓💓💓” LMAOAOOAOAKAKAKAKAN 😭😭😭 mikasa has slapped his arms so many times bcus armin always feels so embarrassed, he walks away so fast and drags you with him while mikasa scolds him. poor baby. he’s a grad student , his grades are so good. his gpa is like 3.8 mainly cus he has very bad exam anxiety, but he studies very often and his notes are so cool!! he’s an absolute master at diagrams , he has an eye for copy and pasting it just by looking at them and sketching. sometimes he gets really into it, and his glasses are almost falling off his face so you push them up for him. he always thanks you really quietly and squeezes the hand you used</333 his ears are secretly all pink and he’s smiling at his textbook</33333333 him and mikasa are an absolute power duo!!! they tend to bully eren and depending on how much of a rat he’s being , you either defend or bully him. you and eren are probably the more chaotic ones, tbh . When you got home from work, Mikasa was lying on the couch, a towel draped over her eyes. You knew what you needed to do. You walk over and crouch at Mikasa’s side, pushing the hair away from her forehead to wake her from her nap. Once she shows signs of waking, you remove the now warm cloth from her eyes.

“Hi, honey.” You whisper to not make her headache worse. “Lets get you into the bedroom. It’s darker in there.”

She just hums in response, not in the mood to speak. After Mikasa is in bed, you check for any light coming through the curtains in the room. After the room is as dark as it can get, you go to the kitchen to get her a fresh cold towel and make some tea so she can take her advil.

Mikasa is resting her eyes when you walk back into the room. Quietly, you set the tea on the nightstand and signal Mikasa to sit up by gently rubbing her shoulder. She doesn't open her eyes when she swallows her pill or when she lays back down.

You move her hair out of her face and set the cool damp rag over her eyes. This time she speaks, letting out an almost inaudible whisper of ‘Thank you’. You close the bedroom door as gently as possible, hoping that the next time she wakes up shell be feeling better.

The flame flared up and illuminated her relaxed pose - her legs spread wide, her eyes hooded with some unidentifiable emotion.  Smoke quickly pervaded the room as she took a deep drag, and a sense of anticipation spread throughout. There was something powerful in the way she inhaled and exhaled, and it held you captive, watching her as you felt an unfamiliar feeling swell up in your chest. 

The tobacco aroma wafted across the room, enveloping you in an embrace of a million sensations that were as mystifying as they were magnetic. There was a certain peace in the moment and you couldn't help but to admire her enigmatic presence as you tried to puzzle out her silent and emotion-filled expression.

Mikasa kept smiling, no hint of her true emotions peeking through her relaxed facade. You found it almost infuriating how nonchalant she was about the whole situation, yet you couldn't bring yourself to get angry. A heavy, uneasy silence fell between the two of you, and all you wanted was for the moment to pass quickly. Why was she here, you wondered. Your boyfriend was, unfortunately, not present, yet Mikasa had shown no sign of surprise.

And you, with your gracious and hospitable attitude, had extended an offer of refreshments, regretting the invitation even before it had left your lips. All you wanted to do was escape the oppressive atmosphere that had developed, but all you could do was sit there, waiting for some kind of cue to give you an excuse to leave.

You shifted restlessly on the couch, your fingertips almost itchy with the urge to reach out to her. An unknown unease brewed within your being, it could have been from the anticipation that had filled your being since the start or it might have been the massaging of your own thighs in an effort to draw her attention to you. As the charged atmosphere hung between the two of you, an immense desire to make your feelings known took over, enveloping you completely. Just being in her vicinity had caused a flurry of intense emotions to arise within you

❝How you been, pretty?❞ she whispered, her arm stretched out along the couch and her lavender scent filled the room. Her gaze directed at the television, yet you could tell that she was entirely focused on you.

"I'm doing alright, just feeling a bit exhausted," you said. She gave you a subtle nod, yet her eyes betrayed her discontentment. Your words hung in the air, and you could feel the tension building. You knew she wasn't pleased with your answer and it left you feeling very uneasy. A weary smile grazed across your face as the minutes dragged.

As you forced your gaze to the ceiling, a red hue passed through the otherwise gray fog from the burning tip of the cigarette. Even with your lungs slowly dying, the overpowering fragrance of the smoke seemed like a powerful reminder of her presence in the room. Her smoky tendrils danced across the floor like a spell was being woven and captivated your senses. You turned to Mikasa, coughing and found yourself momentarily transfixed.

Her formfitting clothes revealed the well-toned muscles beneath her shirt as she smoothly exhaled her smoke with every movement. A playful glimmer lit up her eyes as she cocked an eyebrow, clearly aware of the effects she had on you. Her grin widened and she carelessly flicked the remaining embers of her cigarette into the tray. You sighed in response, wishing you could focus on anything but her. Yet you couldn't look away from the enchanting figure as the smoke engulfed the room, capturing you both within it.

Mikasa's sensual laugh reverberated around the room, sending a thrill of anticipation down your spine and making you feel flushed with embarrassment. Despite trying to ignore it, you could still feel her piercing gaze upon you, knowing that smirk was never too far away.  "Fuck, pretty, I'm sorry, I should have asked if it was okay to smoke in here," Mikasa said in a voice that was both sweet and dangerous. "Forgive me?"

Your heart raced against your chest, as you locked eyes with Mikasa. She had come closer to you, and your body tensed as her thigh pressed against yours. Taking a deep breath, you said with a feigned confidence,

"I'm not a baby Mikasa, I've smoked plenty of times". To emphasize your point, you let out a raspy cough.  Mikasa seemed amused by your attempts to impress her and gave you a mischievous smirk. "Don't be afraid to tell me the truth, pretty, there's nobody here except you and me." Her words had a playfulness in them that made you feel annoyed—her dark eyes sparkled as she held your gaze

And to everyone else, that statement of hers could've come off as polite and conversational, like she was just a good friend of Armin's. But you knew the truth - she was up to no good. It was her trademark move - unannounced visits, overly intimate touches and gestures, endearments like 'pretty,' when she had no right to say them. Knowing how you reacted to words like that. And she kept at it despite the fact that Armin was in a relationship with you - and she was his best friend.

Your sweet boyfriend whom is completely oblivious to her flirting, blissfully unaware of the simmering desire that swells in every exchange of looks and touch.

❝What are you thinking now?❞ You saw the smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth, almost as if she had read your mind, and that is what sends shivers down your spine: her power to guess what is going on inside of you, tease you, ask you what you are feeling when she probably knows already. She was merely unabashedly flirting with you.

Deep down, a dark and twisted side of you enjoyed the situation, but you couldn't bring yourself to tell her off and simply kept your gaze fixed ahead and pretended to be entertained by her flirting and touches. You lacked courage, and she was all too aware of it. "Are you just going to ignore me, pretty?" Mikasa came closer, placing her hand on your thigh, sending a wave of alarm, nervousness, and excitement through your body as the boundaries slowly faded away.

❝Come on, tell me what's going through your mind,❞ she said, her breath caressing your skin. Her hands gently moved dangerously near your clit,  sending jolts of electricity to your heat. You let out a desperate sigh, a need so strong that you could barely control it. In the midst of your desire, you surprisingly asked if she had any more cigarettes left. She stared at you in shock before slowly retrieving another cigarette and lighter from her pocket, her lips quirked in amusement.

❝Shall we do a shotgun since you seem so eager?❞ A knowing smirk painted her face and the air around them suddenly seemed to crackle with something new, something captivating, something electrifying. You felt a flicker of unease; you had stepped into unknown territory.

❝Don't be scared, my love, it's only a lil smoke, I promise just inhale for me,❞ she cooed as she raised the cigarette to her lips again, her eyes glimmering in the darkness. You nervously took up the lighter and flipped it open, holding the flame to the end of the cigarette. Your heart raced and you looked up, meeting her gaze in the momentary burst of light.

She inhaled deeply from the cigarette, holding the smoke in her mouth while her palm was placed on your face. A cool sensation swept through you as she exhaled the smoke through your lips, their softness just barely touching each other as if a silent game was being played between you, and a fight ensued to see who would surrender first. Mikasa flicked her tongue across your lower lip, which resulted in a quiet moan erupting from you. Her heavy eyes locked with yours, an amused expression gracing her features.

"God, baby you really are filthy you know that?." White streams of smoke lingered in the air while she pulled back and studied you. The feel of her mouth pressed against yours stirred up a frenzy of feelings inside you. Every inch of your body was enveloped in sensations that can only be described as chaotic and blissful all at once.

As you gazed upon her with your heart ablaze with desire, she inhaled the last bit of the cigarette with her eyes closed, the hint of a smirk spread across her lips and her head tilted back against the sofa. The smoky air was heavy, almost palpable.

thinking about erwin and eren in relation to levi and mikasa.

1: whenever there’s a scene from levi’s point of view - especially after erwin dies - the majority of the time there’s going to be a callback or mention of him. (i think there was a joke in the fandom where isayama has drawn the crate scene from every visual perspective imaginable lol.)

the same goes for eren in mikasa’s point of view, especially when he’s been put in danger.

in many respects, the opposite is true from eren/erwin’s pov, but for eren especially after the rumbling begins. scenes from his point of view are nearly nonexistent, but they heavily feature mikasa.

it's also been pointed out before that in this promo image, mikasa is featured the most. i can find the link if anyone's interested.

2: mikasa is viciously protective of eren and is always looking out for his well-being in general. levi’s protectiveness is much less obvious, and also, he’d always follow an order from erwin even if it puts erwin himself in danger. levi's feelings about erwin primarily revolve around trust.

you don’t see levi or mikasa interacting with or depicting these behaviors towards anyone else in the series. besides erwin/eren, my very next idea of a second person to develop the “ackerbond” with would be hange and armin, respectively.

so what about hange would make someone like levi want to trust them implicitly? what Thing (like Erwin’s passion towards a peaceful world) do they have that would complete levi? erwin showed levi hope. someone can rb with their thoughts.

and as for mikasa, armin or mayyyyybe jean? i think that mikasa looked for true love in eren because the foundation of her character is, ‘this world is cruel, but also very beautiful’. eren showed her love the day her parents died. again, someone can rb with their thoughts.

but that’s the “ackerbond” develops in my mind.

again this is my opinion, but i would say no, that once an ackerman finds their special person, that kind of bond can’t be replicated with another. (tho another part of me really wants to say yes lol)

as for your second question, the “ackerbond” being grouped in with their powers implies that this special and intense propensity to love is supernatural / is first a trait belonging to titans.

but love is an innately human ability.

granted, i don't believe that mikasa for instance just "likes eren so much", so i think zeke is underplaying it, but still.

i think that trait is just a part of an ackerman. IF it were the case that it was somehow supernatural (like just for example, an ackerman experiencing their liege’s pain and vice versa), then that would go away with their powers. but that doesn't appear to be the case in canon at all.

Okay yall for those who don’t know I work at a spa now, so I bring to you-

AOT characters at a spa!
