Everything You Need to Know About Crystals: Lapis Lazuli
Lapis Lazuli (The Sacred Stone of Wisdom and Power)
Color: Deep blue flecked with gold
Rarity: Easy to obtain, can be expensive for high quality
Hardiness: 5.5
Type: Isometric/ Metamorphic
Chakra Association: Throat, Brow, Crown
Angels: Sahaqiel
Deities: Nuit, Venus, Isis, Sin
Astrological Signs: Sagittarius, Capricorn
Element: Water, Air
Planet: Venus
Origin: Afghanistan, India, Myanmar, Pakistan, Russia, USA, Italy, Egypt, Middle East, Chile
Powers: Amplification of Power, Reverse Baneful Magic, Connection to the Spirit World, Protection, Wisdom, Mental and Spiritual Blockage
Crystals It Works Well With: Phantom quartz and Purple Tourmaline
How It is Created: Lapis lazuli is a complex mineral made up of lazurite, pyrite, and calcite. The lazurite gives it its deep blue color (along with the sulfur that’s in its matrix), the pyrite gives it its golden veins, and the calcite gives it its white specks.
History: The name comes from the Latin word lapis, meaning stone, and the word lazuli which means blue. It was first mined in Afghanistan but it has existed even before then. The Egyptians used lapis lazuli in protective amulets and other jewelry. It was used famously by Egyptian nobility, even its powdered form being used as eyeshadow. Lapis lazuli is said to produce power and wisdom and is associated with the Egyptian goddesses, Isis and Nuit. Romans would ingest the powder in food and drinks as an aphrodisiac and it was also used as an antidote for poisons. It is said that the ring the angel gave King Solomon to control his demon legion of workers was made of lapis lazuli.
What It Can Do:
Open the third eye and balance the throat chakra
Stimulates enlightenment and enhances dream work and psychic abilities
Facilitates spiritual journeys and stimulates personal and spiritual power
Releases stress, bringing deep peace
Protective stone that contacts spirit guardians
Recognizes psychic attacks, blocks them, and return the energy back to the source
Teaches the power of the spoken word and can reverse curses
Alleviates pain, especially with migraines
Overcomes depression, benefits the respiratory and nervous systems, cleanse organs and the immune system
Harmonizes the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels such as: lack of purpose, disease, and depression
Encourages taking charge in your life
Can amplify powerful thoughts and stimulate higher faculties of one’s mind
Bonds relationships in love, friendship and aid in expressing feelings
How to Get the Best Out Of: With a lot of these visionary stones, I am always going to recommend a bracelet or necklace. Anything that is close to the bloodstream or heart will help the power of the stone connect to you best with these types of stones.
How to Cleanse and Charge: Using incenses or a singing bowl to cleanse lapis lazuli. Lay it on a clear quartz disc or bowl over night under the moon to recharge it. Do not put under the sunlight. It will discolor the stone. (I made this mistake and was heavily scolded by Isis afterwards)

ive seen a lot of girls on tiktok doing a series on using up their makeup collections, and I have way too much makeup that I don't use so I'm going to do the same but on tumblr bc I don't post on tiktok. so anyways, I'm starting with a total of around 160 products (technically 108 that I've opened or used).
the rules i've set for myself are:
only use the selected products until they are entirely empty (not hitting pan, not bottom of the tube--entirely empty!)
exception for special events where i need to use a different product
if a product isn't working out, find another way to use it (ex. for art) or donate unused to someone
use older products before newer ones
don't buy anything new until what i have is 100% gone
and my first products on the chopping block are:
one of my oldest elf eyeshadow pallets
an old b&bw paris amour body spray
a bioderma and aveeno eczema lotion
a nyx contour palette, kaja blush, and revolution highlighter
a sephora foundation, benefit primer, and clinique concealer
a burt's bees eyeliner, revlon mascara, and anastasia brow pencil sample
2 homemade lip glosses, neutrogena an mineral fusion lip crayons, too faced lipgloss, an elf lip liner, a babylips spf chapstick, and a burt's bees lip oil
probably 5-6 burt's bees chapsticks in my car, backpack, purse, bed, work, etc.

Will you list your everyday makeup products pretty please!
These are the products I use most often! I didn’t list the exact products in my original post, because I do switch it up (especially with blushes and eyeshadows) quite frequently, depending on the time of day, season, and my overall outfit—but these are my most-used products for a very neutral, natural look.
People seemed interested, so this is a post of my makeup. I didn't include everything I have, as I have more moisturizers, setting powder, setting spray, and brushes. So yeah.
My favs will be bolded.
I use makeup for expression purposes; makeup has no gender babes.

The color green was associated with life and vegetation. Which is why malachite represented new life and fertility in Ancient Egypt, due to its rich green color. Malachite white was most predominantly found around the Sinai peninsula and the eastern desert, which associated it with Hathor as the patron of miners.
This was commonly used to make paint pigments and eyeshadow (Udju).
When it came to makeup, the malachite and galena were crushed and mixed with gum or water to make a paste, it was then applied over the eyelid and underneath the brow bone. Makeup had its own protective qualities to it, as it was thought to help ward off evil, flies, and the harsh rays of the eyes; which is why it was worn by both men and women in Ancient Egypt.
As for paints, Osiris, for example, was almost always depicted as green or black- both colors representing the fertility of the Nile and thoughts about the afterlife. The malachite mixture was used to paint on the walls of the tombs and temples. For the elite, this was used to paint coffins to symbolize the life after death.

TRESPASS, Kohga in Astor’s room when the seer isn’t around LMFAO
The room is dark and quiet.
It seems odd—there's loudness in that silence, an absence of energy and thought. Upon lighting the candles, it can be seen that the bed is unmade, with crumbled sheets and a disheveled pillow hanging off the edge. Numerous books lay at its side, some tabbed with folded edges, some tucked with paper scraps, including a study on alchemy, a history of war tactics, and a small book of more flowered writing themed around the repetitiveness of life and the inevitable end of the universe. The authors name is not familiar and appears to be from across the sea.
Further on is a small pile of clothes upon the floor ready for wash, mainly consisting of black or gray shirts, dark trousers, and one robe. Above them is a Yiga mask that hangs upon the wall and a pinned map with various markings and circles.
On Astor's desk is a deck of Tarot cards neatly stacked together. In three glass dishes are mineral powders of red, white, and dark purple. There are a pile of letters, some opened, some not.
One reads: "Father Astor, I write to inform you that the West has been cleansed of the doubtful followers. I will eagerly await your next instruction."
Another reads: "Dear Astor, I am at odds with our northern trade partners and require your wisdom. We would like to increase the cost of shipment but fear retaliation, as we do not wish to lose their contract in full. How should we proceed?"
And yet another: "Astor, there is a matter of great importance I wish to discuss and your reluctance to attend grows infuriating. Your current task can not possibly be more important than the matter at hand. Kindly send a messenger with an anticipated date of your arrival."
The Orb that contains malice is missing, supposedly with the Seer, wherever he may be. In the desk drawers are vials of various elixirs, a vial of unscented oil, and various small journals with small, neat handwriting that is mostly written in shorthand and difficult to follow, but it appears to be a log of various timelines and branches. There are also two small bags of rupees, a bit of kohl and eyeshadow, and some mechanical robotic scraps that appear to be for the maintenance of the Harbinger.
🐚 Wear sea foam green, aquamarine, teal, ocean blue, soft grey, lilac, periwinkle, emerald, pale gold, white, deep blue, and turquoise
🐚 Pick flowy fabrics such as taffeta, chiffon, linen, silk, muslin, and sequined fabrics that resemble fish scales
🐚 Choose garments like maxi dresses, flowy skirts, bandeau off-the-shoulder tops, tank tops, soft scarves used as tops, shell clutches, woven bags, and pretty beaded sandals
🐚 Accessorise with jewellery made from pearls, sea glass, seashells, turquoise, aquamarine, opals, gold that resembles the sun glinting on the sea, and silver that reminds one of the metallic sheen of fish scales. Examples of accessories you can wear are bangles, anklets, layered necklaces, and pearl earrings
🐚 Makeup Ideas: eyeshadow in nudes like a sandy beach, greens and blues like the sea, or lavender and pink like a coral reef, shimmery highlight, dewy skin, coral pink lipstick, and seashell pink lipgloss
🐚 Hair Ideas: loose curls that look like ocean waves, fishtail plaits, green and blue hair dye, pearl hairclips, and sea salt hairspray. Brush your hair with a pretty wide-tooth comb.
The Lifestyle
🐚 Listen to songs such as Martha's Harbour by All About Eve, No Ordinary Love by Sade, Come Into the Water by Mitski, Pearl Diver by Mitski, Mariners Apartment Complex by Lana Del Rey, and Call of the Sea by Claudie Mackula (a longer mermaid playlist is here).
🐚 You can also listen to the sounds of the ocean, like whale song or waves crashing on the beach
🐚 Watch movies and TV shows such as Aquamarine, Splash, The Little Mermaid, H20: Just Add Water, Mr Peabody and the Mermaid, Miranda (1948), Mermaid Melody Pitchi Pitchi, Ponyo, Barbie in a Mermaid Tale, Barbie: The Pearl Princess, Neptune's Daughter (1914), A Daughter of the Gods (1916), Queen of the Sea (1918), Venus of the South Seas (1924), and Magic Island (1995)

🐚 Mermaids are renowned for their beautiful siren song, so sing sweetly and brightly as often as you feel like it
🐚 Make your self smell like the ocean by using a deodorant like Old Spice Deep Sea, and perfumes like L by Lolita Lempicka, Acqua di Gioia, Salt Air by Skylar, Fleur de Corail by Lolita Lempicka, Seahorse by Zoologist, Nymphéas by Kismet Olfactive, Salina by Laborattorio Olfattivo, Alien Mirage by Mugler, Very Sexy Sea by Victoria's Secret, 20,000 Flowers Under the Sea by Tokyomilk, Nebbia Spessa by Filippo Sorcinelli, Tiziana Terenzi's Sea Stars Collection, Chant d'Extase by Nina Ricci, Sirena by Floris, Squid by Zoologist, and Orto Parisi Megamare (be aware that the latter two suit a dark siren who lures men to their deaths more than a sweet mermaid princess).
🐚 Make your home smell like the deep sea too, with sea salt scented diffusers and candles such as Yankee Candle Sea Minerals, Yankee Candle Seaside Woods, or Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt
🐚 Home Decor Ideas: silk sheets in blue, grey, and sea green, seashell jewellery trays, homemade terrariums, jellyfish embroidery, seashell candles, beaded curtains made from string and shells, paintings of maritime scenes, glass vases filled with layers of sand, seashells, and faux pearls, seashell shaped soap dishes, rattan furniture, woven baskets, treasure chests to keep your valuables in, mermaid figurines, a seashell or jellyfish mobile, a bowl filled with seashells, a glass bottle filled with ocean water or with a love letter inside to replicate a message in a bottle, mosaics with marine motifs like seahorses and shells, even an aquarium with colourful fish if you are able to care for them
🐚 Spend lots of time around near bodies of water, swimming in it to connect with your inner mermaid, or just walking in it and feeling the sand beneath your feet
🐚 Collect seashells and pretty pieces of sea glass thar wash up on the shore
🐚 Watch synchronised swimming, or even learn it yourself
🐚 Go diving, snorkeling, or mermaiding
🐚 Visit aquariums to see beautiful exotic fish and learn more about the ocean
🐚 Do your best to be sustainable; make the world a cleaner place for your fishy friends to live in. If possible, attend a beach clean-up group local to your area to help pick up litter
🐚 Carry a haircomb and hand mirror with you at all times (you can hotglue seashells and faux pearls on the back of the mirror to make it even more like a mermaid's treasure)
🐚 Watch documentaries and read books on the ocean, marine life, and nautical myths and legends
🐚 Enjoy snacking on seaweed soup, coconut water, and Guylian seashell chocolates
🐚 Take luxurious baths with dead sea salt, seaweed masks, small white bath bombs that resemble pearls, a coconut scented candle, and calming music
Oh my. Just remembering one of my favorite incidents in the eternal saga of "my skin is bitchy and allergic to everything".
The week my mother died (in 2008), after Mr. C got there some strained-relation relatives took us out for an uncomfortable dinner. Which ended up being even more fun because of the eyeshadow I had chosen to put on beforehand.
I had used the same stuff before, with no problem. That didn't matter. The whole area around my eyes suffered for it, and I had already been having a hard enough time that it took me quite a while to figure out that, no, the itching and burning was NOT just from all the crying and wiping of eyes.
That made for an interesting few days after, too.
But yeah, things turned interesting a little too often when I was younger and did feel way more compelled to put various substances on my face. I learned the hard way that I am much better off just leaving it the hell alone.
And now I do keep it to low-scent soap (and not every day with that), the occasional unscented moisturizer that my skin seems OK with--and very occasionally some mineral pigments without a bunch of other shit in there. No matter how "hypoallergenic" it claims to be. It's just not worth it. I do occasionally learn.
(Oh yeah, and spot treatments with hydrocortisone cream when things get too nasty. Fuck color-correcting concealers, that's there's the real shit.)

hi! i’m an artist and travel writer from memphis who likes talking about beauty & fashion sometimes. if you’d like to join me, don’t hesitate, come on, now.
Can you feed me some iris facts? Or maybe even Slinky too?
(I noticed the banner has a worm on a string drawing and wondered if that was what Slinky looks like...)
(OOC!)
Tw: mentions of Abuse, Manipulation, Cannibalism
1. Iris is left handed :)
2. Despite drawing her with mainly 3 fingers, she actually has 4, just been drawing her hands at bad angles
3. Iris was named after the flower, and the goddess Iris (goddess of rainbows). The goddess Iris stood as a messenger for humans and the gods (considering Gummy was a god, it kinda made sense that she was like a messenger.) The Iris flower stands for courage, wisdom, and persuasion.
4. Iris is a sharp-shooter, and has perfect aim (not OP though) in her “feral” state, she could tear you to shreds though, but cannot shoot that well.
5. Iris has a weakness for being complimented. If you want her to be persuaded, praise or compliment her and she will easily be convinced. (Talk about low self-esteem)
6. Despite being a “cannibal” she does eat humans too. She is not a human, but likes to consider herself a cannibal due to her sentience and human-like behavior.
7. Iris has been through some tough situations involving previous relationships/associations with other gangs. Shes been used and manipulated her whole life which is why she’s so protective over this gang.
8. She’s a biter. She shows affection through biting but only if she trusts you.
9. She lives for proper etiquette and mannerism. Very lady-like
10. Iris NEVER goes without her makeup. Blue eyeshadow is her life support. Eyeliner and mascara. It’s the equivalent of lipstick for her.
11. She has severe Atychiphobia (the fear of failure.) if she fails, it can set her off badly.
12. She does have family! She still talks to her sister and father. Mother and father divorced but there was no bad blood. (But her Father still loves the mother…)
13. Iris is touch-repulsed. The only time you’ll see her being remotely touchy is if she trusts you. There was no abuse, it’s just simply a behavior she developed.
14. She doesn’t really have friendships sadly. She worries that they won’t want to befriend her. :(
15. she saved Slinky (pet worm on a string) from a toy store her old gang tried to explode. And Slinky just followed her :)
16. She HATES her height, I’d say it’s her biggest insecurity (she’s 4”11)
17. feed her rainbow sour stripes and she’s your friend for life
18. She’s a huge nerd when it comes to rocks and minerals (geology/mineralogy)
19. She’s good at cooking!
20. She loves children (in a motherly way). She likes to take care and nurture them, and would NEVER let a child be harmed no matter what.
I hope this fed you enough. If you want more, I got more. As for Slinky, I might start an ask blog because Slinky is literally a word on a string and can’t talk, but he has the silliest ways of communicating! He’s so silly.
so yesterday mum and I were rewatching sg1 (as you do) and I jokingly commented "Teal'c ROCKS the eye makeup, but who's going down to CVS for him?" and mum, the big history nerd she is, said "maybe it's a tattoo. ancient Egyptians would tattoo their eyelids to protect from sun blindness." and I was like "was there a permanent ink that they used because sticking a bunch of needles in your eyelids sounds like torture." and she was like "well the nobility would use [mineral that rhymes with "coal" but different and I don't remember how she spelled it] but it was expense and slaves weren't worth that cost so they would use needle tattoos." and that made me Very Uncomfortable so I joked that "I'll just stick with my corner store eyeshadow theory"
