The town house is thrumming with energy by the time you trawl through the front door, feet dragging with every laboured step; you'd stop if not for the golden thread in your chest being tugged gently- igniting at the every growing presence of your mate- and then with more fervour as you approach the vast living room.
Cassian is sprawled in the plush armchair, a muddle of stocky limbs and corded muscle that has you sagging at the sight of him. His eyes dance with playful amusement and you follow his gaze, corners of your mouth tugging up when your own eyes latch onto Mor, waving her slender hands animatedly at Rhys, brow pinched in argumentative frustration. The High Lord only rolls his eyes at her theatrics.
You resist the urge to let yourself tumble headfirst into Cassian, instead opting for a vaguely more ladylike approach, needling your way into his warmth and digging your elbow into the hard muscle of his side until he hisses and twists to make room for you.
"Spiteful female," he gripes but lifts an arm to hook over your tired body and draw you into his chest regardless; he can feel your fatigue through the bond, your energy waning from the gruelling training Azriel forced you through for the entirety of the day.
"Fuck off," you mumble, a slurring jumble of noise that Cassian barely deciphers; Mor catches it clear as day, cackling when Cassian frowns and murmurs something about you being mean when you're tired.
You huff and close your eyes, breaths warm against the wide expanse of your mate's chest.
"I hate Az," you whine, your body curling and twining its way around Cassian when he cups the back of your head in a warm palm.
"No, you don't," Rhys chuckles, voice smooth as silk but still grating at your every nerve. You lift your head and scowl, venom dripping from your pinched features.
"I do today." You quirk a brow, goading. Challenging him to argue with you. Cassian schools his features into indifference, pushing back the amusement threatening its way to the surface.
"Okay, firecracker. Time for bed."
Your halfhearted protests fall on deaf ears as you're swept up and into his arms.
"Cassian!"
The wind hits your face, goosebumps prickling at your exposed skin when Cassian's wings flap behind you and you're thrust into the open air.
The flight is a short one, only a couple of minutes, and your complaints are reduced to a minimum under Cassian's threat of walking the ten thousand steps to the House of Wind. By the time he lands, you might as well be asleep; your arms are a vice around his neck, calves splayed over a singular forearm and rucking up the material of his t-shirt to reveal a sliver of his rigid abdomen.
You slide down the full length of his body, reluctantly parting ways to shuck off your shoes and training gear. Your eyes droop when Cassian pulls a t-shirt over your head, his knuckles brushing over your cheekbone before he nudges you towards the bed in a silent command.
You settle under the crisp sheets, watching him through hooded eyes as he strips down to his boxers and slides an arm underneath your pliant body, soft and tired from the busy day.
"I missed you today," you murmur, face tucking beneath his chin; your lips graze the hollow of his throat.
He laughs, his wing flaring up and over your body to cage you in and keep you warm. "I could feel you raging all day," he snorts. "Poor Az."
"It's his own fault," you shrug, "He pissed me off."
"I can imagine." Your eyes fall closed as you listen. "Cruel thing."
"Take that back!" you gasp, still sidling in closer to his bare torso.
"Can't take it back if it's true, sugar."
"You're lucky I'm tired," you hiss, "Prick."
He barks a roaring laugh, squeezing you tighter.
"I love you too," he coos. You can't help the smile that tugs at your lips at that.

late night sparks
guys guess what!! little villain guy has a name!! it’s Jasper and we love him dearly. also team leader’s got a name too, it’s Miguel, but we don’t really care about him because he’s a bitch. plus new character reveal: Chase, a teammate. he is also, unsurprisingly, a bitch.
Content: ex-villain whumpee, hero/leader whumper, manipulative whumper, collars, electrocution (for realsies this time), implied referenced abuse of a minor, referenced bullying, bad team dynamics, adult language

Jasper's back was sore. And his arms. And his everything.
He sat kneeling on the kitchen floor, determinately ignoring the pins and needles that pricked at his calves. He couldn't stop, couldn't take a break till the floor was spotless. Chase had once again threatened some mixture of violence and telling on him to Miguel for insubordination if he didn't do the man's chores. 
Big man-child, Jasper thought bitterly.
So, here he was, scrubbing well past midnight, after having spent the day straining his powers in the lab and doing his own chores. 
Jasper sat back to indulge a long, dramatic yawn. He nearly jumps out of his skin when an impatient ahem cuts through the previously dead silent kitchen. His bleary eyes take several long moments to focus on Miguel, leaning against the doorway. The hero would look casual if it weren’t for the peeved look on his face. Jasper’s stomach does a somersault.
Sheepish, Jasper drawls, “Heyyy, Miguel…”
Miguel is not amused. “What the fuck are you doing out here,” he snaps.
Jasper squeezes his hands into fists to quell the tremors. He stutters, “J-just cleaning.”
The villain can hardly finish the statement before the unsettling and painful electricity of the collar arcs through him. His muscles seize and ache and burn and it feels like death and he can't breathe—
Just as quickly as it began, the electricity stops. He gasps and collapses to the side, just barely able to catch himself on his forearm. Small, choked-off whimpers escape him as he tries to catch his breath and keep his volume to a minimum. His father never liked to hear him whine.
Jasper continues to shudder as his powers go haywire. The typically comforting restless skittering of his own electricity under his skin now burns as it travels across the newly fried neurons. More than that, it feels wrong for such a core part of his being to cause him pain. The feeling is everywhere, from the tip of his nose to his toes, and it is everything. Little sparks and crackles of energy fly from his shaking hands as it becomes too painful to completely contain his powers. Simply existing—not to mention actually using his powers—will be painful while his body tries to recover from the unnaturally strong current, engineered just for him.
As his body gradually backs down from its state of panic, ire at the punishment surges within him. The hero didn’t even let him explain. It was Chase who ordered him to do his chores; ordered him to not leave this room until it was spotless.
“I was just following orders!” he bursts.
Oh shit.
A quick glance at Miguel and his quirked eyebrow lets him know just how badly he just fucked up. And even if it didn't, the second burst of electricity from the collar definitely spells it out for him.
A guttural groan escapes his clenched teeth as he feels the current worm its way through his neurons, igniting them. The burning, all-encompassing pain is all he knows. Spots cloud his vision. Seconds feel like minutes, feel like hours, feel like eternity, until he wonders if that's all he'll ever feel. Nothing but the gut-wrenching pain of his greatest gift, so deeply intertwined with his being, turned against him and ripping him apart from the inside out. 
And then, it stops.
Jasper’s body fully gives out this time, his chin bouncing off the tile and teeth clacking painfully. He's a pitiful mess of useless limbs. His muscles feel like jelly and yet are still forced to endure the waves of aftershock, twitching and spasming irregularly. Each movement is agony.
He gulps oxygen, having still been out of breath from the first shock. He can hardly hear his own moans and whimpers bouncing around the kitchen with each breath over the ringing in his ears, and he has zero energy to control them this time.
A hand lands on his shoulder, and he can't help the delayed but violent flinch that ripples through him. But the hand is soft, gentle, as it pulls him to lie on his back. It guides his hand to rest on someone's chest, to follow as it rises and falls rhythmically. He latches onto it, using it as a guide to breathe and bring himself back to reality. Another hand gently cards through his loose curls as he works to steady his breathing and his vision clears. If he eagerly leans into the gentle touch, well, he can blame it on his delirious state.
When Miguel's face finally comes into focus above him, a shiver runs through him, and he averts his gaze. He'll blame that on his still-spasming muscles.
Miguel’s soft voice calls for his attention again. He focuses back on his leader’s face, haloed above him by the bright kitchen lights.
“There you are. You're alright, it's okay,” he soothes.
The hero lets Jasper relish the contact a moment longer before gently returning his hand to his own chest.
Jasper swallows the whimper at the loss.
Miguel lets out a long-suffering sigh. It gives Jasper whiplash how suddenly the familiar weight of anxiety settles back in his chest.
“I don't like doing that, man. You know better than to be in the common areas after your curfew, and you definitely know better than to talk back, bud. I don't wanna have to punish you, but the rules are rules for a reason. Yeah, they're to protect the team, but they're also to protect you. What if you'd had another episode with your powers?”
He decidedly doesn’t think about the ‘episodes’ Miguel is referring to. Still, the disappointment in his savior's voice hurt almost as much as the electricity. His eyes flood with tears as guilt settles like a rock in his stomach. The hero was right. He knew the rules, and he agreed to them. Anything to stay. Anything to be good.
His voice breaks, small and shaky, as he says, “I-I'm really s-sorry, Mig-guel.”
The villain’s not one hundred percent sure what exactly he's sorry for, but, fuck, is he sorry.
“Okay, that's alright, don't cry. I think you've learned your lesson. You're fine.” 
The words should be comforting. The edge to his tone, however, is not. Jasper blinks hard to clear the tears, not wanting to annoy him. That was another thing his father didn't like.
Miguel brings him back to the present, asking, “Why are you cleaning the floor anyways? That's not on your list for this week.”
Jasper swallows hard past the lump still in his throat. He’s afraid of what Chase will do to him if he tells Miguel and Miguel decides he doesn’t like that. However, he’s more “Chase s-said I should be busy all the t-time to k-keep me out of trouble…”
Miguel hums in thought, ever casual as Jasper trembles on the floor below of him. 
“I actually like that idea. We wouldn't want you getting bored. You'd be helping the team out a lot too, taking some work off our plates so we can train more. I'll work on the new chore schedule in the morning.”
Jasper bit his lip. He could read between the lines.
“A-and, my training?”
“We can reduce it some,” Miguel says, thoughtful. “I know you've been struggling to keep up.”
He makes it sound like a kindness, voice full of sympathy. No matter how gentle the tone, Jasper has to blink the tears from his eyes again. He knew he wasn't the strongest or the most capable, but that was the point of training. He'd never be good enough to redeem himself without the chance to train.
Miguel sighs again and stands. He suddenly reaches towards him. Jasper has to carefully control the urge to flinch, not knowing what to expect from the movement. He never knows what to expect.
Miguel simply holds it out towards him, however, expectantly. It takes Jasper a moment to realize he's trying to help him up. He takes the hand after that moment's hesitation and wavers on unsteady feet as the blood finally rushes back into his legs. He blinks spots from his vision, gripping Miguel for dear life until he's sure he's not going to pass out.
The hero gives him an easy smile, clapping a hand on his shoulder just a bit too hard. He nudges him in the direction of the bedrooms.
“You look tired, man. I think it's time for bed,” he all but coos.
It sounds like a caring gesture, or at the very least a joke. Jasper knows it's an order.
He dutifully mumbles, “Goodnight,” before making his way to the door slowly. He knows he probably looks like a newborn fawn as his jittery body tries to carry him to his bed.
“And Jasper?”
A slight jolt of anxiety stops him as he turns back to his leader.
“If I catch you out past curfew again, we're going to have an issue worth more than a little jolt, understand?”
“Yes, sir,” the villain says, too tired to bite back the honorific once totally engrained in him.
He doesn't notice the way Miguel preens at the submission.
“Attaboy, Jasper. Goodnight.”
The praise rings hollow after the night's events, but as he makes his way back to his room, dead on his feet, he allows the praise to warm him. 
He'll take what he can get.

Call An Ambulance... But Not For Me
Luke teaches Percy to drive. Well, kind of.
A/N: this is just some silly goofy while i work through writers block. i MIGHT come back to it. also it's a mortal au so there's that :)

Luke doesn’t know how he got dragged into this. Well, he does. It was very simple actually - he needed money, Annabeth’s friend had a reputation no one wanted to deal with when it came to putting him behind the wheel and a third secret motive he refuses to acknowledge that happened to be back in town for the first time all year. 
He’s not nervous. 
There’s nothing to worry about with Percy Jackson. He’s known the kid since he was twelve, sitting on the floor outside the classroom when there was a perfectly good chair next to him. He’s a good kid – maybe not the brightest or most polite – but good. A great friend, for sure, or Annabeth wouldn’t still be attached. Luke knows what Percy can be like and he knows his car will be perfectly safe, even if he’s in the passenger seat for once. 
“We’re just going to take it slow,” is the first thing he tells Percy, even before the kid has his seatbelt on. “I want you to talk me through everything on the console.”
“Luke, I’ve been behind the wheel before,” Percy laughs, but he does as asked. Indicator, wipers, handbrake. Two and ten. Accelerate, brake, clutch. He knows it all. “Am I allowed to drive now?”
“I had to be sure, okay.”
Percy looks at him like he knows exactly why he’s here. He forgets, sometimes, that they’ve grown up while he’s become an adult. Annabeth and Percy. They’ve learnt more while he’s been gone, become more if he listens to the rumor mill (he’s waiting for Annabeth to tell him herself) and Percy’s always been people-focused. Luke wouldn’t be shocked if the kid knew more about him than anyone.
“I’m not going to crash your car.” Percy turns the ignition on, finally. “Have you got any CDs?” 
“Drive in silence. No distractions.” 
It goes well. He was expecting worse, the way everyone was talking about Percy’s history in his drivers ed class. But it’s fine. They stop at red lights and go at green. He checks his mirrors. He goes the speed limit – there’s moments where Luke can see him itching to press the pedal down further, to go faster, but he doesn’t so it’s a win – and they can make conversation while he does it all. 
Why this was such a big deal to Sally and Annabeth, he doesn’t know. The kid is a fine driver. Luke has no doubt he’ll pass his test (or the actual driving part at least) and he’s only slightly put out that he won’t have to do it a few more times to get Percy up to scratch. 
“Can you parallel park yet?” 
“Do I look like I can parallel park?” Percy answers and it’s the same tone Luke’s heard him use a million times before, the one that says ‘I absolutely did that thing I’m in trouble for but you can’t prove it', so he waits. “I’ve managed it a couple times, yeah.” 
“Wanna give it a go now?” 
They’re almost at Percy’s, the other end of town from where they started, and they’re both safe and calm. Some would call that a huge success. He’s pretty sure Annabeth will call it the bare minimum. They’re pretty much the same thing. 
Luke relaxes into the passenger seat as Percy pulls in front of an empty space. The road is practically empty, he can see maybe three people on the street total. It’s a perfect time to parallel park. He can happily tell Sally that her son will pass his test in a few weeks and pretend it doesn’t suck that he won’t have an excuse to swing by the Jacksons house every week.
It takes him a second to notice Percy mumbling to himself. 
“You okay, buddy?” 
Percy nods and it’s the first time Luke has really seen him concentrate on what he’s doing. There’s an intensity he doesn’t normally carry, a set to his shoulders and fingers tight on the wheel, and Luke sits up a little more. He’s not worried, not after how smooth the drive so far has been, but he’ll match Percy’s energy a little bit more. 
He thinks, somewhere in the back of his mind, that if he’d let the boy play music, he would’ve turnt it down right now. 
“You’ve got time, Percy,” is what he says instead of giving advice. Honestly, he’s not sure what advice he could give until the kid told him what he was nervous about exactly. He’s not actually a driving instructor after all. “Take a breath.” 
He does. 
And another. 
“I’m going to start now.” Percy says and Luke nods. Then he says “okay” because he realizes Percy is looking determinedly at the windshield. 
Forward. Turn the wheel. Reverse. Turn the wheel. 
Luke watches as he makes every move, breathing deeply with each one. He sits in silence, at ease. Finally, finally, Percy starts to relax as he slowly, so slowly, inches his way into the space. A couple more minutes and he’ll be home free. 
Maybe Luke can offer to help him master his parking instead of calling it quits completely. 
Then, just as Percy lets out all of his breath, calmer all of a sudden, he presses down on the accelerator. Just slightly too much. 
A jolt (the hood bashes against the door of another car), the sound of a horn (it takes Luke a moment to realise it’s Percy who’s pressing it, holding it down with his elbow and glaring, and another moment to slap his arm and make it stop) and he squints.
“Did you just crash into your sister?” 
Percy gulps. “Do you think she’ll know it was me if we just leave?” 
Luke sighs. 
“Lesson number two. What to do when you get into an accident.”

The EU gives final green light to removable batteries in mobile phones from 2027 on.

The European Council has given the green light last Monday to the new regulation[1] that will make it easier for consumers to change portable batteries in mobile phones and other electronic devices from 2027[2] on, for which date they must be easily removable by users. With this, the Twenty-seven support the provisional political agreement reached last December with the European Parliament on new rules for the design, production and waste management of all types of batteries sold in the EU. The regulation will be signed by the European Council and the European Parliament before it is published in the Official Gazette of the EU and enters into force 20 days later.
This standard aims to create a circular economy for batteries by addressing all stages of the life cycle of these products, from design to production and waste treatment. This initiative is of great importance, since the demand for batteries is expected to increase tenfold in 2030.
The regulation establishes that portable batteries incorporated into devices must be removable and replaceable by the end user by 2027 at the latest, allowing sufficient time for operators to adapt the design of their products to this requirement.
“Batteries are key to the decarbonisation process and the EU shift towards zero emission modes of transport. At the same time, end-of-life batteries contain many valuable resources[3] and we need to be able to reuse those critical raw materials instead of relying on third countries for supplies. The new standards will promote the competitiveness of the European industry and guarantee that the new batteries are sustainable and contribute to the ecological transition”, said Teresa Ribera, third vice president of the Spanish Government and minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, at the meeting of Ministers of Energy and Environment held in Valladolid.
The regulation will apply to all batteries, including all waste portable batteries; from electric vehicles; from industrial devices; permitting to start, light-up and ignite (SLI), mainly used for vehicles and machinery, and for light means of transportation, such as electric bicycles, electric mopeds and electric scooters.
Circular economy
The new rules aim to promote a circular economy by regulating batteries throughout their life cycle. Therefore, the regulation sets requirements for end of life, including targets and obligations for collection, as well as for material recovery and extended producer responsibility.
The regulation establishes targets for producers to collect portable battery waste (63% by the end of 2027 and 73% by the end of 2030), and introduces a specific collection target for used batteries for light means of transport (51 % by the end of 2028 and 61% by the end of 2031). In addition, there is a target for the recovery of lithium from used batteries (50% by the end of 2027 and 80% by the end of 2031). The latter can be modified by delegation of authority depending on the market and technological advances and the availability of lithium. It also includes mandatory minimum levels of recycled content for industrial batteries, SLI and electric vehicles (16% for cobalt, 85% for lead, 6% for lithium and 6% for nickel.
Finally, the regulation introduces labelling and information requirements, among other things, on battery components and recycled content, and an electronic 'passport' and QR code. In order to give Member States and economic players on the market enough time to prepare, the labelling requirements will have to be applicable from 2026 and the QR code from 2027.

He can't help but snort at her well-rehearsed reply. Sounded like something straight out of a Princess 101 instruction manual. His dad must have read it too at some extent since he still got ornery about DK putting on his robes for the social outings with other kingdoms, but since the old bastard was off on other business to bother with some flower festival, the Kong prince was free to enjoy his usual wardrobe of 'bare minimum '. Helped show off all the muscles he'd worked hard on building up through both his training and stuffing himself sick most days.
"Heh? And how many times didja practice that line before it came natural to ya~?" Light teasing aside, he digs his heels in to the idea. Surely the way he was dressed let her know exactly how he thought about appearance. "Not that I don't enjoy some show boating now and then. But at the end of the performance, all that matters is-" A fist finds his open palm, and the browns of his eyes blaze down at her full with the newer confidence of a fighter balanced over a broad smile. "-strength!"
And just as soon as it had ignited, the expression and his smile softened back to the same nervously excited energy with which he'd first met her some years ago. The surge of the foot traffic helps electrify the air like the crowd at a concert, so it bothers him a lot less than the princess's hand placed on his for balance assistance. "Uh-...huhu, well!" Tilting his head away after a few sputters, he uses his free hand to muss the fur at the back of his neck as he waits for her to find her feet on her own and for the splash of color to cool off along the bridge of his nose.

"Consider me not surprised. But hey, more fun for me!" As portions of the street began to thin and open up, he gave his legs a break and lowered to his haunches to face her without so much neck craning. "Don't even hesitate to call me when he comes around either. I gotta hold up the jungle kingdom's end of the alliance some how. And compared to attending stuffy feasts, I think I prefer the turtle smashing." Offering her a wink, he dips a shoulder towards her. "Need a ride some where? I've got a talent for gettin' through crowds." Especially the fan filled ones that wanted a piece of him.

GOP lawmakers slam Biden administration’s proposed clamp down on home water heaters
Water heaters could soon be subject to much more stringent efficiency requirements if a recent Department of Energy proposal that has been criticized by Republican lawmakers goes into effect.
In a draft rule unveiled Friday, the Biden administration is seeking to compel most electric water heaters to deploy heat pump technology and gas-fired ones to use condensing technology.
It comes months after the Biden administration ignited a firestorm over feared stove top regulations, after Albany lawmakers enacted a controversial first-in-the-nation gas stove ban in New York.
“Today’s actions—together with our industry partners and stakeholders—improve outdated efficiency standards for common household appliances, which is essential to slashing utility bills for American families and cutting harmful carbon emissions,” Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm

The Biden administration anticipates the regulatory plan, set to go into effect by 2029, will save Americans $198 billion and slash CO2 emissions by 501 million metric tons over the next 30 years.
The department is planning to ratchet up the minimum efficiency standards for gas-fire water heaters, oil-fired storage water heaters, and gas-fired instantaneous water heaters.
The collective efficiency measures were set to save Americans $570 billion over three decades, officials said.

How do you envision Ariel's mother?

Hi there! I've shared some of my headcanons on this before, so forgive me if I'm repeating myself, but I don't think Ariel's mother is anything like what we see in the third movie because I don't respect or value anything the third movie presented (I'm still not over the banning of music...like that plotline is maybe the dumbest thing I've ever seen. And the fact that it wasn't just bad fanfic that was scrambled together by a 11 year old that has internet access and something that was ACCEPTED at Disney. Also the way they changed the birth order of the sisters, their personalities, how Ariel and Flounder met, entire character personalities and sensibilities! They train minimum wage workers at the parks to respect character integrity more than this, like I'm genuinely SO confused). The one thing I do like is the name "Athena" but, again, I'm not keen to accept anything from that film/universe lol
I think Ariel's mother had a shade of chestnut-almond brunette hair in an intense cloud of trailing waves that always caressed her bare shoulders, deep dark eyes, and a red tail that's on the side of vermillion. She had a sense of intrigue and natural allure that seemed at the same time mystifying but also coolly serene, to the point where it put everyone at ease. She was this odd mixture of not being over-the-top and actually being almost mundane to some extent but also having almost hypnotic energy? It's really difficult to explain but it feels as though someone might be capable of overlooking her, but when they do notice her, there's something different about her that's almost unsettling while not igniting any potent emotions. I think she was a Libra and was capable of placating those around her but in an effortless way, like when a wave of sleep hits you, soothingly, right when you're on the edge of passing out. Triton was so happy around her and she calmed a lot of his anxious thoughts, about the future and himself and she taught him how to just be. She seemed to be mostly accepted by everyone but didn't have too many close bonds with people- she didn't even really know Ariel too well and Ariel doesn't remember her too much. The relationship the two share is almost greater when she's gone than it would've been if she were alive because Ariel experiences her as an element of nature- the concealing kind foam at the top of the ocean, obscuring her form from humans looking by, the beam of the illuminating moon against her exposed upper-body that's revealed to the human world at night while her tail is safely swaying in the waters below, the gentle yet cipher like sensation of a soft wind meeting you.

For more than 60 years, scientists have pursued one of the toughest physics challenges ever conceived: harnessing nuclear fusion, the power source of the stars, to generate abundant clean energy here on Earth. Today, researchers announced a milestone in this effort. For the first time, a fusion reactor has produced more energy than was used to trigger the reaction.
On December 5, an array of lasers at the National Ignition Facility (NIF), part of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, fired 2.05 megajoules of energy at a tiny cylinder holding a pellet of frozen deuterium and tritium, heavier forms of hydrogen. The pellet compressed and generated temperatures and pressures intense enough to cause the hydrogen inside it to fuse. In a tiny blaze lasting less than a billionth of a second, the fusing atomic nuclei released 3.15 megajoules of energy—about 50 percent more than had been used to heat the pellet.
Though the conflagration ended in an instant, its significance will endure. Fusion researchers have long sought to achieve net energy gain, which is called scientific breakeven. “Simply put, this is one of the most impressive scientific feats of the 21st century,” U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said at a Washington, D.C. media briefing.

HYDROFUEL also known as Oxyhydrogen is a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen gases.. The mixture is normally assumed to be in a 2:1 atomic ratio, the same proportion as water. When ignited, this mixture combusts to water, making 142.35 kJ (34,116 gram calories) of heat for each gram of hydrogen burned.
Hydrofuel also known as Oxyhydrogen is a mixture of hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2) gases. This gaseous mixture is used for torches to process refractory materials and was the first[1] gaseous mixture used for welding. Theoretically, a ratio of 2:1 hydrogen:oxygen is enough to achieve maximum efficiency; in practice a ratio 4:1 or 5:1 is needed to avoid an oxidizing flame. This mixture may also be referred to as Knallgas (Scandinavian and German Knallgas; lit. 'bang-gas'), although some authors define knallgas to be a generic term for the mixture of fuel with the precise amount of oxygen required for complete combustion, thus 2:1 oxyhydrogen would be called "hydrogen-knallgas". "Brown's gas" and HHO are terms for oxyhydrogen originating in pseudoscience, although x H2 + y O2 is preferred due to HHO meaning H2O. Properties
HYDROFUEL will combust when brought to its autoignition temperature. For the stoichiometric mixture in air, at normal atmospheric pressure, autoignition occurs at about 570 °C (1065 °F). The minimum energy required to ignite such a mixture, at lower temperatures, with a spark is about 20 microjoules. At standard temperature and pressure, HYDROFUEL can burn when it is between about 4% and 95% hydrogen by volume.
HYDROFUEL, also known as Oxyhydrogen, is the brand name of a product under investigation by EON Hydrofuel Technologies, LLC., P. O. Box 5192, Johnstown, PA, 15904, United States of America. When ignited, the gas mixture converts to water vapor and releases energy, which sustains the reaction: 241.8 kJ of energy (LHV) for every mole of H2 burned. The amount of heat energy released is independent of the mode of combustion, but the temperature of the flame varies. The maximum temperature of about 2,800 °C (5,100 °F) is achieved with an exact stoichiometric mixture, about 700 °C (1,300 °F) hotter than a hydrogen flame in air. When either of the gases are mixed in excess of this ratio, or when mixed with an inert gas like nitrogen, the heat must spread throughout a greater quantity of matter and the flame temperature will be lower.
PRODUCTION BY ELECTROLYSIS

Due to competition from arc welding and other oxy-fuel torches such as the acetylene-fueled cutting torch, the oxyhydrogen torch is seldom used today, but it remains the preferred cutting tool in some niche applications. Oxyhydrogen is associated with various exaggerated claims. It is often called "Brown's gas" or "HHO gas", a term popularized by fringe physicist Ruggero Santilli, who claimed that his HHO gas, produced by a special apparatus, is "a new form of water", with new properties, based on his fringe theory of "magnecules". Many other pseudoscientific claims have been made about oxyhydrogen, like an ability to neutralize radioactive waste, help plants to germinate, and more. Oxyhydrogen is often mentioned in conjunction with vehicles that claim to use water as a fuel. The most common and decisive counter-argument against producing this gas on board to use as a fuel or fuel additive is that more energy is always needed to split water molecules than is recouped by burning the resulting gas. Additionally, the volume of gas that can be produced for on-demand consumption through electrolysis is very small in comparison to the volume consumed by an internal combustion engine. An article in Popular Mechanics in 2008 reported that oxyhydrogen does not increase the fuel economy in automobiles. There are four British Standards that are particularly relevant to carpet underlay. If you don’t want to risk the future of your installation and keep your hard earned reputation intact, make sure the underlay you choose has been tested and proven to meet all of these. If in doubt, ask your supplier to provide certificates for your chosen quality from a UK-based testing facility. Just like any reputable supplier, floorwise has UK origin certificates available for all its underlay products.  
BS EN 14499:2015 is the minimum performance standard for carpet underlay, so every product should have been tested in accordance with it. It tells us about an underlay’s dimensional stability, how much it compresses over time and where it would be most suitable for use. Carpets wear largely due to movement of the fibres so if an underlay compresses excessively, for example when used in an application for which it is unsuited, it might reduce the life of the carpet it’s supposed to be supporting. Similarly, if an underlay compresses due to poor ‘bouncebackability’, it can result in rouching of the underlay leading to customer complaints and remedial work being required.
BS 4790: 1987, known as the hot metal nut method, shows how an underlay reacts to fire. This test effectively defines how the underlay can impact upon the speed with which a fire spreads from the initial source of ignition. One that burns quickly effectively increases the scale and spread of the fire whilst also reducing how long people have to safely vacate the premises. 
BS 4745: 2005 looks at the thermal insulative performance and provides a tog value for underlay. A high tog value help to reduce drafts and insulates the room – floorwise underlays can achieve up to 3.5 tog. Today, a high-performance underlay and thick carpet can provide the same level of insulation as was required in the pre-2000 building regulations, so it can make a real difference to energy bills. Accurate tog values are also vital when specifying floor coverings to be used with underfloor heating systems so as to achieve a combined tog value of below 2.5 tog allowing heat to pass through the floor covering and keep the living space warm.
ISO 10140-3: 2021 provides a measurement of how much an underlay can reduce impact sound transmission. A high value here – the best floorwise underlays achieve D LW 45 – can be a real asset if there’s significant upstairs footfall as it will dramatically cut down on the noise transferred below. The D LW value is particularly important when deciding on what carpet or wood laminate underlays to use for flats and apartments.
Making sure your underlays meet British Standards is a good way to ensure that the underlay you are recommending to your customer meets their basic needs, but it’s also important to recognise that these are the minimum requirements for any UK carpet installation. Just because an underlay meets British Standards doesn’t mean that it’s up to the task of delivering comfort and durability over the life of the carpet. That comes down to the manufacturing quality, density and thickness of the product.

Artificer (Artillerist)
An Artillerist specializes in using magic to hurl energy, projectiles, and explosions on a battlefield. This destructive power is valued by armies in the wars on many different worlds. And when war passes, some members of this specialization seek to build a more peaceful world by using their powers to fight the resurgence of strife. The world-hopping Gnome artificer Vi has been especially vocal about making things right: "It's about time we fixed things instead of blowing them all to hell."
Tool Proficiency when you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with woodcarver's tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan's tools of your choice.
Artillerist Spells starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.
3rd level spells Shield and Thunderwave
5th level spells Scorching Ray and Shatter
9th level spells Fireball and Wind Wall
13th level spells Ice Storm and Wall of Fire
17th level spells Cone of Cold and Wall of Force
Eldritch Cannon also at 3rd level, you've learned how to create a magical cannon. Using woodcarver's tools or smith's tools, you can take an action to magically create a Small or Tiny eldritch cannon in an unoccupied space on a horizontal surface within 5 feet of you. A Small eldritch cannon occupies its space, and a Tiny one can be held in one hand. Once you create a cannon, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest or until you expend a spell slot to create one. You can have only one cannon at a time and can't create one while your cannon is present.
The cannon is a magical object. Regardless of size, the cannon has an AC of 18 and a number of hit points equal to five times your artificer level. It is immune to poison damage and psychic damage. If it is forced to make an ability check or a saving throw, treat all its ability scores as 10 (+0). If the mending spell is cast on it, it regains 2d6 hit points. It disappears if it is reduced to 0 hit points or after 1 hour. You can dismiss it early as an action.
When you create the cannon, you determine its appearance and whether it has legs. You also decide which type it is, choosing from the options on the Eldritch Cannons table. On each of your turns, you can take a bonus action to cause the cannon to activate if you are within 60 feet of it. As part of the same bonus action, you can direct the cannon to walk or climb up to 15 feet to an unoccupied space, provided it has legs.
Flamethrower: The cannon exhales fire in an adjacent 15-foot cone that you designate. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC, taking 2d8 fire damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one. The fire ignites any flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried.
Force Ballista: Make a ranged spell attack, originating from the cannon, at one creature or object within 120 feet of it. On a hit, the target takes 2d8 force damage, and if the target is a creature, it is pushed up to 5 feet away from the cannon.
Protector: The cannon emits a burst of positive energy that grants itself and each creature of your choice within 10 feet of it a number of temporary hit points equal to 1d8 + your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).
Arcane Firearm at 5th level, you know how to turn a wand, staff, or rod into an arcane firearm, a conduit for your destructive spells. When you finish a long rest, you can use woodcarver's tools to carve special sigils into a wand, staff, or rod and thereby turn it into your arcane firearm. The sigils disappear from the object if you later carve them on a different item. The sigils otherwise last indefinitely.
You can use your Arcane Firearm as a spellcasting focus for your artificer spells. When you cast an artificer spell through the firearm, roll a d8, and you gain a bonus to one of the spell's damage rolls equal to the number rolled.
Explosive Cannon starting at 9th level, every eldritch cannon you create is more destructive:
The cannon's damage rolls all increase by 1d8.
As an action, you can command the cannon to detonate if you are within 60 feet of it. Doing so destroys the cannon and forces each creature within 20 feet of it to make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC, taking 3d8 force damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one.
Fortified Position by 15th level, you’re a master at forming well-defended emplacements using Eldritch Cannon:
You and your allies have half cover while within 10 feet of a cannon you create with Eldritch Cannon, as a result of a shimmering field of magical protection that the cannon emits.
You can now have two cannons at the same time. You can create two with the same action (but not the same spell slot), and you can activate both of them with the same bonus action. You determine whether the cannons are identical to each other or different. You can't create a third cannon while you have two.

Where is she?
Where is she?
The sunshine child who used to glimmer
The girl who was not on a constant timer?
She, the craziest fun talker, li'l optimist.
How'd she turn into dust and got lost into the mist?
She truly believed in herself, she wanted to fly
But all she saw in believe, now was "lie".
She thought she was stronger than that
Her mental and physical realms were not at a constant combat.
All she was now,
Was a midnight rain, a dull beam of light,
A time bomb, ever ready to ignite.
Poor child searched for a bare minimum of certainty,
When she was surrounded by a hundred meteorites.
Her wings were slashed,
The strength turned into flaws in just a flash.
Even then, She didn't lose hope ;
She fought till every ounce of energy in her soul was a lost scope.
But where is she now?
Is she lost in her sorrow, or found peace ;
guess we'll never know if she's still suffering, or is at ease.
