The brainstorming session was enjoyable and effortless when Minkyu initially sat down with the two-person stylist team. Ideas were quickly gathered for what he should wear on his first red-carpet appearance as a newly established actor, with the prestigious nomination of Best New Actor in tow. The initial design featured a white suit that evoked memories of Prince Charming.

They ultimately opted for a more subdued and appropriate choice, aiming for Minkyu to blend in with the other guests while adding a distinctive flair that reflected his distinctive personality.

His suit was tailored from high-quality stretch wool suiting fabric, known for its refined appearance, comfortable feel, and impeccable drape, all while maintaining the perfect structure. The inclusion of built-in stretch greatly enhanced the overall experience, making it less restrictive and significantly more comfortable for both wearing and moving.

Instead of the traditional necktie, they opted for a black velvet string tie, loosely tied with the top button left unbuttoned. This created a casual and stylish contrast to the structured shoulder portion of the suit. Regarding footwear, they went for classic dress shoes choice: Oxfords in the colour black and made out of italian calf leather, offering a sleek and classic look and comfortable wearing experience.

A silver hoop earring adorned each earlobe, and his hairstyle was meticulously neat and straight, no longer featuring the perm he had previously sported during Martine Corp promotions. His black hair had been dyed a deeper shade of chestnut brown, creating a striking contrast with his all-black suit.

on MARCH 20, the boys who have been selected for LGC SPRING BOYS are invited to join KIM HYUNCHEOL in one of the large meeting rooms. after they've all filed in the room, KIM HYUNCHEOL speaks up: “hello everyone. thank you for coming here and congratulations on being selected to take part in our new variety show,” he exclaims. “when you signed up for the show, we asked you to make picks based on social groups and academic clubs. you've likely all speculated as to what this could've been related to and here's the answer; your choices determined in which units, and therefore which songs, you'll be performing in. as an additional surprise, YOON MINJAE has been given a solo song." each person is then handed a packet that includes the line distribution (TBA) of each song as well as information on each unit.

ACTORS and MODELS with prior engagements, do not worry, for the rest of the month, you'll be joining when your schedule permits it, however, you'll still be expected to manage to catch up with the rest after.

since there are many of you, we've chosen ONE LEADER and TWO SUBLEADERS to make sure that everything runs smoothly behind the scene. as such LIM SANGHYUN is named leader of the group. SANGHYUN and JINSEO take an active role at mentoring and advising the models, therefore, we know you'll all benefit from his expertise. to assist him, we've picked SEONG BYUNGHO and PARK SEOJIN as subleaders."

ACTIVITIES

"the members of VERSUS have been chosen as MCs for the variety. while AHN JAESUN will act as the main host, TWO MEMBERS other will assist him during each different activities!

while we're on the topic of the variety show; each episode will feature activities for all twenty-one of you. this is the time to show the audience a side of you that they won’t get to see just by watching you in music videos, dramas, magazines or on the stage. it’s also a time for you to show them your dynamics as a group. trainees, look around: these are many of the boys you’ll likely be debuting with in the future, so building bonds now will make future activities even easier.” he looks around to each of the boys to see if they understand.

below are the ACTIVITIES for the variety show in filming order:

1. SCHOOL'S IN:

MCs: AHN JAESUN (as teacher ahn), JUNG WOOKJIN (as sunbae jung), PONGSAK TEE (as tee sunbae)

FILMING: APRIL 6

CONTENT:  on a classroom set akin to the one used on knowing brothers. [ segment 1 ] the boys are told to enter one by one as if this was their first day in a new school, in a new class, the goal is to show a bit of their personality. once everyone is seated, the 3 mcs of the day enter, acting as their homeroom teach (jaesun) and two recently graduate of the LGC academy (wookjin and tee). as the class president, YOON MINJAE is in charge of leading the greeting of the teacher. [ segment 2 ] AHN JAESUN tells the group that they will have to perform the class anthem, but first sunbae WOOJIN and TEE will show theirs. the two idols will dance to the hook and chorus of VERSUS' TRAUMA. following praises and comments, the LGC SPRING BOYS will perform a full live version of  'HOW ARE YOU' on the classroom set. [ segment 3 ] following the performance, AHN JAESUN announces that it's time for them to introduce themselves. one by one, the boys will have ONE MINUTE to tell their NAME, a RANDOM FACT about themselves and show a SPECIAL TALENT of theirs. of course, as the sunbaes, WOOJIN and TEE will once again be asked to demonstrate first. MCs and PARTCIPANTS are invited to ask questions and make comments about the facts and talents of the boys to keep the flow of the show as fun and engaging. [ segment 4 ] for the last segment filmed that day, AHN JAESUN will administer a PLACEMENT test. he will ask TRICKY questions equivalent to, more or less, 5th grader knowledge (example: what type of animal can live on both water and land? how many countries are in africa? what are the three types of rock? what is the most abundant element in the universe? how many teaspons are in 5 tablespoons?). for each question, the boys will have 30 SECONDS to write their answer on a WHITE BOARD, with the funniest answers discussed each round. at the end of the test, the boys will be divided in THREE GROUPS based on the number of correct answer (the tiers have been predetermined by various factors including random numbers, personality, knowledge of korean, education level, multiple accounts). each group will get a different spring activity as reward. results: HIGH TIER: choi kyungsoo, han jisoo, han noeul, kim jinyoung, kwon hyuntae, lim sanghyun, oh rieon MID TIER: choi kai, kwon baekhyun, baek byeongkwan, kang maximilian, seong byungho, park seojin, kang minsoo LOW TIER: cha hyoseop, cho minkyu, kang eli, kurosawa akio, lee saem, xue yichen, yoon minjae

2. TEAM MATCH:

CONTENT: at cj enm building, in the evening. MC JAESUN announces that this week, they will be doing a TEAM MATCH. the goal of the game is to capture both opposite teams trophies and bring them back to their base, doing so will eliminate the opposite team. of course, the base of each team is unknown to the others. as a final twist, each boy is equipped with a vest and a laser gun. should a participant be hit, their vest will flash and they will be taken out of the game by the staff for 5 minutes. the location they will be released back in will be free of opponents. for this activity, the three mcs will be joining in. the teams are mostly based on CLUBS with adjustments to have the same number of people in each team.  once again, each group will get a different spring activity as reward. results (winners have once again been randomized): FIRST - TEAM TEE: cho minkyu, kang eli, kang maximilian, kang minsoo, lee saem, lim sanghyun + park seojin SECOND - TEAM AJ: cha hyoseop, han noeul, kim jinyoung, kwon hyuntae, oh rieon + yoon minjae, kurosawa akio THIRD - TEAM WON: baek byeongkwan, choi kai, choi kyungsoo, han jisoo, kwon baekhyun, seong byungho, xue yichen

CONTENT: the episode begins without the MCs in front of LEGACY ENTERTAINMENT. [ segment 1 ] the boys, divided in their SOCIAL GROUP formations, will be tasked to find their way to the camping ground of the last activity, 1h30 away from seoul. BAD/COOL BOYS will be given a van (with driver) and a PAPER MAP. OUTSIDERS will be given BUS TICKETS and LINES TRAJECTORIES. HEARTTHROBS will be dropped at the TRAIN STATION with a card with enough money for several tickets and taxi fare. [ segment 2 ] once they find the venue, each group will be taken to a dining area where the favorite dish or drink (minimum 2 type of beverage per team) of each member is present. to be allowed to eat, each member of the group must win the game against one of the MCs. each time they lose, they must remove a dish or a drink. BAD/COOL BOYS will each have to 'complete the word' against WOOKJIN  (example; mc says 'con', member says 'cert' to make the word concert), will win after FOUR rounds so have only one dish (and water). OUTSIDERS will play reverse rock paper scissor against ALEX, where they not only must each play until they beat him, but also say they won if they lost and they lost if they won, will win after THREE rounds, so have 4 dishes/drinks. HEARTTROBS will play 'name the celebrity' against AHN JAESUN, where they each have to name the celebrity on the picture shown, will win after SEVEN rounds, so have 2 dishes/drinks. [ segment 3 ] a noraebang battle in mini groups of 2 or 3 judged by the three mcs. [ segment 4 ] group pictures + commentaries from the participants about their experience.

SECOND PLACE TEAM will go STRAWBERRY PICKING. THIRD PLACE TEAM will visit the JINDO MIRACLE SEA ROAD and pick abalones, clams and shells

JGP Baltic Cup Preview

Welcome to week six of the Junior Grand Prix, the JGP Baltic Cup, the second of two weeks in Gdansk, Poland. It is also the final week for Pairs.

10/6: Women’s Short 9:00; Pairs Short 16:15; Men’s Short 18:20

10/7: Rhythm Dance 9:00; Pairs Free 12:00; Women’s Free 14:15

10/8: Men’s Fee 12:15; Free Dance 17:25

The Men’s competition is very open, but the frontrunner looks to be Takeru Amine Kataise of Japan. His competition will come from South Korea, the US, Japan and Italy. 

In the Women’s event, the favorite looks to be Jia Shin of South Korea, who looks for her second win the season. Other contenders will come from Japan and South Korea.

In the Pairs event, the battle for gold looks to be between Sophia Baram and Daniel Tioumentsev of the US and Anastasia Golubeva and Hektor Giotopoulos Moore of Australia. Baram and Tioumtensev have the higher score this season by about five points. 

The bronze medal favorites look to be Violetta Sierova and Ivan Khobta of Ukraine, but they could face some competition from Chloe Panetta and Kieran Trasher of Canada.

In the Ice Dance event, the favorites for gold are last week’s gold medalists, Nadiia Bashynska / Peter Beaumont of Canada. The favorites for silver are week three gold medalists Daria Grimm and Michail Savitskiy of Germany. The favorites for gold look to be Angelina Kudryatseva and Ilia Karenkevich of Cyprus.

Final Qualification

There are more skaters looking to cement a place in the Final in December. Pairs finalists will be decided this week.

In the Men’s event, Rio Nakata of Japan has a shot at qualifying after a second-place finish in week three. Another second-place finish would secure it, but a bronze might give him a shot, as well. After a third-place finish last week, Raffaele Francesco Zich of Italy also has a shot. A second-place finish here would secure it. 

After a fourth-place finish in week two, Minkyu Seo of South Korea has a shot at qualifying - a win would secure it. Robert Yampolsky of the US has an outside shot at qualifying - a win here would secure it.

In the Women’s event, favorite Jia Shin of South Korea has the best shot - she needs only to medal to secure her spot. Minsol Kwon of South Korea and Auymi Shibayama of Japan both have a very good shot - they both need a silver to secure her spot, but a bronze would keep them in contention. Ami Nakai of Japan needs at least a silver. A win would secure.

In the Pairs event, the two teams almost sure to qualify are favorites Baram / Tioumentsev (USA), and Golubeva / Giatopoulos Moore (AUS). Both teams need only to place in the top five in order to secure a spot. 

Another team that has a very good chance at qualifying is Sierova / Khobta (UKR). After a second-place finish last week, they need only to place in the top four in order to qualify. Another team that has a chance is Panetta / Trasher (CAN). They need to win at least bronze to secure a spot.

Kemp / Elizarov (CAN) who had a second-place finish in week three, have an outside chance at qualifying. In order to secure a spot, they would need to place at least in the top four, which would likely mean mistakes from the top four teams. A fifth-place finish would put them in a tie with Murakami / Moriguchi (JPN), which they would lose. 

In the Ice Dance, both Bashynska / Beaumont (CAN), and Grimm / Savitskiy  (GER) have the best path to the Final. Both teams need only to medal to secure their spots in the final.

JGP Czech Skate Preview

Welcome to the second week of the Junior Grand Prix as it visits, Ostrava, Czech Republic. Pairs starts this week!

In the Men’s competition, the frontrunner seems to be Nikolaj Memola of Italy, but he will face stiff competition from competition in this very open competition. In the Women’s event, the frontrunner looks to be Mao Shimada of Japan. 

Pairs starts this week, and the competition for the podium is quite open, but the frontrunners seems to be Sonia Baram and Daniel Tioumentsev of the US. Ice Dance looks to be a battle between Katerina Mrazkova and Daniel Mrazek of the Czech Republic and Elizabeth Tkachenko and Alexei Killiakov of Israel.

         “Lo importante es que prestes atención a los niños durante las clases, así sabrás cuál es la dificultad de cada uno y podrás saber de antemano dónde fallarán en los exámenes” su mirada estaba fija en la pila de papeles que apenas comenzaba a corregir y hacía pequeñas marcas, dejando asentados los errores de sus alumnos mientras aconsejaba al joven universitario que estaba haciendo una pasantía en la escuela donde Minkyu daba clases. Era probablemente uno de los profesores más relajados, y menos protocolares, de toda la institución y le sorprendió que decidieran designarle un interno cuando en más de una ocasión fue criticado —y hasta sancionado— por su forma de enseñar. No, no maltrataba niños ni los llevaba para el camino de las drogas, aunque su apariencia hiciera creer a más de uno que así era. Pero sí le gustaba que en su clase hubiera libertad de expresión y de opinión y, según los padres que se acercaron al colegio para quejarse, hacía debates demasiado avanzados para los niños de primaria. “La parte de la enseñanza es lo sencillo. Lo complicado viene cuando tienes que tener charlas que tal vez se salen un poco de los programas de estudios... la mente de los niños es hasta a veces más avanzada que la de un adulto pero luego de un tiempo te acostumbras” lo miró para analizar su expresión, sonriéndole con calidez esperando que terminara de sentirse a gusto con él para poder sobrellevar el resto del trimestre que les quedaba por delante y decidió —como siempre— salirse del protocolo. “Pero todo esto ya deben decírtelo los libros... ¿por qué mejor no me cuentas algo sobre ti?”  ( @delxtines )
