New Post has been published on My Quin Story
New Post has been published on https://www.myquinstory.info/pentadecanoic-acid-c15-for-mitochondrial-health/
Pentadecanoic Acid (C15) for Mitochondrial Health
I am starting to get good reports from people suffering from FQAD about Fatty15.
What is Fatty 15 you ask?
Fatty15 is technically pentadecanoic acid, commonly referred to as C15 or Fatty15. C15:0 is the first essential fatty acid to be discovered since the omegas—over 90 years ago. It is an odd-chain saturated fatty acid that has been garnering attention in the health and wellness communities for its potential benefits, particularly in relation to mitochondrial health. Mitochondria, the powerhouses of cells, play a crucial role in energy production and overall cellular health and are often damaged in various ways from Fluoroquinolones leading to a host of problems. From all preliminary indications Fatty15 appears to have a significant positive impact on mitochondria.
For my readers who like to geek out on the science, C15:0 is a sturdy, odd-chain, saturated fatty acid that integrates itself into cell membranes to fortify and strengthen them, giving them better protection against oxidative stress and cellular degradation than omega-3 fatty acids. Studies show that C15:0 supplementation improved cellular stability by 80% (1).
Mitochondrial dysfunction/disease is a key hallmark of Fluoroquinolone toxicity and in turn that drives, or contributes, to the onset of chronic diseases (FQAD). C15:0 increases mitochondrial function by up to 45%, keeping our cells active and ensuring they’re able to carry out cellular processes as they should. The mitochondria produce ATP, your cell’s energy currency. In studies, C15:0 was able to increase ATP by up to 350%. A pretty impressive feat!
C15:0 Long-Term Benefits
C15:0 (Fatty15) has been shown in peer-reviewed studies to:
Strengthen cellular membranes, making them more resilient against age-related breakdown. Fatty15 contains pure C15:0, which is a sturdy fatty acid that imbeds into the lipid bilayer of membranes to protect cells against lipid peroxidation. Fatty15 has been shown to improve cellular stability by 80%.
Repair mitochondrial function and restore cellular energy. Fatty15 has been shown to improve mitochondrial function by 45%. These benefits result in increased ATP energy production and reduced reactive oxygen species (ROS).
Naturally activates AMPK to support glucose control. Fatty15 activates AMPK, which supports our long-term health and is a core component of the human longevity pathway.
Lowers multiple pro-inflammatory cytokines to balance immune responses. Fatty15 lowers key cytokines, including IL-6, MCP-1 and TNF-alpha, which are responsible for aging-related breakdown.
Naturally activates PPAR-alpha and delta receptors, which regulate our metabolism and immunity. Additionally, PPAR-alpha activators have been proposed to support brain health, while PPAR-delta activators can be heart protective.
C15:0 is also helpful in assisting with clearing damaged cells. Some people FQAD suffer from an accumulation of damaged cells. C15:0 activates AMPK and inhibits mTOR, which are important mechanisms to slowing cellular senescence and clearing damaged cells. AMPK is also essential in regulatory processes, like glucose uptake (2).
C15:0 (Fatty15) near-term benefits:
Near-term roles of PPARs. Many of fatty15’s near-term benefits are due to fatty15’s role as a natural activator of two key receptors, called PPARs (pronounced pee-pars) alpha and delta, that are present throughout our body – including our brain. In addition to these long-term benefits, PPARs help to regulate our mood, stress, sleep patterns, energy, and hunger.
Near-term roles of PDC. Our bodies use C15:0 to naturally make a second molecule, called pentadecanoylcarnitine (what we refer to as PDC). PDC is the second-ever discovered full-acting endocannabinoid and has been shown to:
Activate CB1 and CB2 receptors as an endocannabinoid that can help to improve joint comfort, mood, and sleep.
Activate 5-HT1A and 5-HT1B receptors to reduce stress.
Inhibit histamine H1 and H2 receptors to calm immune responses.
Unfortunately a person can’t get C15:0 by just eating foods. The short of it is that while C15:0 is available in trace levels in food, especially whole fat dairy products, food-based C15:0 is tied up in complex lipids called triacylglycerides, which we cannot absorb.  If you attempt to get large amounts of C15:0 from dairy you would have to consume an outrageous amount of dairy fats that would give you a much higher levels of ‘bad’ even-chain saturated fats (like, C16:0) and the negative effects would greatly outweigh the positives.
Another positive is that it also appears that for some people who can tolerate Omega-3’s, C15:0 seems to well tolerated and C15:0 is dosed in one small capsule per day and delivers the same benefits as Omega 3’s plus much more.
Side effects: Since C15:0 was discovered as an essential fatty acid in 2020 and introduced to the public in 2021, over 17,000 customers have taken fatty15 with very few side effects. A few minor side effects have been reported in less than 0.1% of customers: constipation, diarrhea or  headache.  Due to confounding factors it cannot be confirmed confirm that these side effects are directly attributable to C15:0 supplementation.  One floxed person reported a minor headache that went away after a few days, and another reported a transient case of nausea.
Conclusion
Right now, Fatty15 (C15:0) is only available to purchase from the company who discovered it, and that is a the Fatty15 website. They do not sell on Amazon or in retail stores.  Keep in mind that Fatty15 is not a magic cure all.  It is however a substance that shows promise in the ability to heal heal or support injured mitochondria, in addition to providing other benefits.  My opinion is that it might benefit those who are suffering from mitochondrial issues stemming from fluoroquinolone toxicity and I have had reports of improved energy and sleep.
One drawback is that like many new products, it is expensive, and it needs to be taken for a while to achieve full benefits.  I have secured a 20% discount for those who want to try it by just clicking on the Fatty15 logo below.  You will then be taken to the website for Fatty15.   As usual, any benefits received for the referral link will be passed-on to other floxed people.

Trigonelline is a methylated form of niacin and is a recently isolated molecule that could be the secret ingredient in your stack. This form of the B vitamin is involved in the generation of NAD+, a cofactor for over 500 metabolic processes in cells. Trigonelline promotes cellular repair and energy, and as we’ll see, exerts quite a few benefits that are specifically useful for anyone training seriously.
Trigonelline is found in several plant-based foods, notably coffee beans and fenugreek seeds. Green coffee beans contain trigonelline concentrations ranging from 0.6% to 1.0% by weight. However, traditional dietary sources don’t provide sufficient amounts to elicit significant physiological effects. For instance, the average trigonelline content in a cup of coffee is approximately 53 mg, and about 50-80% of trigonelline decomposes during the roasting process, leaving virtually nothing for your body to make use of.
Recent research published on this naturally occurring alkaloid highlights its potential in enhancing muscle function and combating age-related decline. A 2024 study published in Nature Metabolism identified trigonelline as a novel precursor to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), a molecule essential for energy metabolism and mitochondrial function. The study demonstrated that trigonelline supplementation improved muscle strength and reduced fatigue in aged mice, suggesting that it can head off the natural muscle decline seen in aging, even in those who are already training at capacity.
NAD+ gets discussed a lot in the longevity space because of its natural and steep decline over the years, tied to all the diseases of aging. It's a metabolic linchpin that determines how efficiently your cells convert fuel into usable energy. For athletes, that efficiency translates into faster recovery, better performance under load, and greater resilience under metabolic stress. Or, you know, complete lack of those things if you don’t have enough of it.
NAD+ is required for redox (oxidation–reduction) reactions in mitochondrial energy production and is a cofactor and substrate for longevity-promoting sirtuins and other enzymes involved in muscle repair and adaptation. During intense physical activity, NAD+ levels drop as demand for ATP surges. Replenishing intracellular NAD+ is critical not only for restoring mitochondrial output but also for initiating the cellular programs that rebuild and reinforce muscle tissue [1].
Trigonelline offers a direct path to NAD+—one that bypasses the liver and supports muscle tissue specifically. In a landmark 2024 study, researchers at EPFL and Nestlé Health Sciences (yes, that Nestlé, but there aren’t any conflicts of interest, we checked) demonstrated that trigonelline functions as a previously unidentified NAD+ precursor, rapidly taken up by skeletal muscle cells and converted into NAD+ via a salvage pathway independent of the traditional NR or NMN routes [2]. This muscle-specific uptake is particularly important for athletes, who require localized replenishment in the very tissues under stress.
Most NAD+ precursors—including nicotinamide riboside (NR) and nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN)—undergo hepatic metabolism before entering systemic circulation. This creates a bottleneck at your liver for targeted muscle repair. Trigonelline appears to bypass that constraint by delivering precursors directly where they're needed most: the muscle fibers responsible for performance and endurance.
This shift in delivery has implications beyond simple NAD+ restoration. In the same Nature Metabolism study, aged mice supplemented with trigonelline showed significant improvements in grip strength and fatigue resistance—outcomes tightly linked to muscle NAD+ availability. Unlike systemic precursors that may elevate circulating NAD+ levels without improving localized bioenergetics, trigonelline drives changes in muscle mitochondrial density and function.
For athletes, this is the difference between feeling recovered and actually being rebuilt.
Mitochondria Make Muscles Move
Endurance Starts in the Electron Transport Chain
Every sprint, every lift, every set depends on one thing: mitochondrial output. The ability to generate ATP on demand—efficiently and cleanly—is the defining line between sustained power and early fatigue. Trigonelline’s value lies not just in elevating NAD+ levels, but in what that elevation enables at the level of mitochondrial performance.
NAD+ drives oxidative phosphorylation, the mitochondrial pathway responsible for converting nutrients into ATP. When NAD+ is depleted, electron transport slows, reactive oxygen species accumulate, and mitochondrial output tanks—resulting in performance collapse and prolonged recovery. Replenishing NAD+ restores mitochondrial throughput, enhances metabolic flexibility, and allows cells to switch between carbohydrate and fat oxidation with minimal friction [3].
Trigonelline’s role as a direct NAD+ precursor in muscle tissue makes it especially powerful in this context. By bypassing hepatic metabolism and restoring NAD+ where it's most needed, it kickstarts mitochondrial biogenesis—activating pathways like PGC-1α that drive the formation of new mitochondria and increase the efficiency of existing ones [4]. This isn’t theoretical: in the 2024 Nature Metabolism study, trigonelline supplementation significantly boosted mitochondrial content and activity in aged mice, restoring performance metrics typically lost with age and overtraining [2].
This cellular shift translates directly to the field, the track, and the gym. More mitochondria means more ATP per unit of oxygen consumed. This is the underpinning of higher VO₂ max, improved lactate clearance, and extended time-to-exhaustion. Trigonelline supports this adaptation at the source, which means athletes can train harder, go longer, and bounce back faster—without relying on stimulants or sketchy ergogenics.
More NAD+ in muscle equals better mitochondrial kinetics, which equals better athletic output. Period.
Strength and Muscle Health
Preserving Power, Not Just Mass
Strength isn’t only about size—it’s about contractile quality, neuromuscular precision, and the cellular capacity to resist breakdown under stress. Trigonelline’s impact on muscle tissue reaches beyond endurance. It supports structural integrity, performance output, and resilience across multiple pathways—especially in the context of aging or chronic training demand.
In the 2024 Nature Metabolism study, trigonelline supplementation restored muscle grip strength and improved fatigue resistance in aged mice, with outcomes exceeding those observed in control groups receiving traditional NAD+ precursors [2]. This effect was tied to increased NAD+ availability in skeletal muscle, which reactivated SIRT1- and PGC-1α-dependent pathways responsible for mitochondrial biogenesis, inflammation control, and protein maintenance—all critical for contractile performance and mass preservation [5].
NAD+ also plays a protective role against muscle wasting. It regulates the balance between anabolic and catabolic signaling, modulating FoxO transcription factors and suppressing atrophy-related genes like MuRF1 and atrogin-1 [6]. This anti-catabolic signaling becomes especially important during periods of calorie deficit, illness, or overreaching, when muscle degradation accelerates. Trigonelline, by supplying NAD+ directly to muscle cells, may help maintain lean mass even under systemic stress.
One overlooked aspect of muscle performance is neuromuscular junction (NMJ) stability, or, the connections between nerves and muscle fibers. These connections go both ways, with afferent signals carrying sensory feedback from muscle to brain, and efferent signals delivering motor commands from brain to muscle. Maintaining the integrity of this bidirectional communication is essential for coordination, strength, and rapid recovery from fatigue. NAD+ is required for the function of enzymes that protect NMJ architecture—particularly in aging or disease models where synaptic decline contributes to strength loss [7]. Trigonelline’s direct muscle delivery may therefore preserve the electrical signaling fidelity needed for explosive power and motor unit recruitment.
Muscle Fiber Type Preservation
Emerging evidence suggests that NAD+ availability influences muscle fiber type composition. High NAD+ levels favor the maintenance of fast-twitch (Type II) fibers—those responsible for strength, speed, and power—by enhancing mitochondrial support without triggering full transition to slow-twitch oxidative profiles [8]. This has implications for athletes seeking to maintain peak force output without compromising endurance. By elevating muscle NAD+ directly, trigonelline may help preserve this delicate fiber balance.
Trigonelline is formulated not to just support general energy—but to protect the architecture of athleticism at the cellular level.
For a reliable, pure form of trigonelline with zero additives, you can trust Mortalis Labs.

I need to revisit the Midi-Chlorian are the Mitochondria and Anakin is a Medical Horror post because learning about how certain fungicides work by forcing fungi cells to stop the synthesis of a certain enzyme needed in their cellular membrane, essentially ending with the cells dissolving. So I thought what if some really crazy person found a way to make the midichlorian stopping synthesizing what helps the force user to handle better the force or just downright to melt them away. A normal person or even an average Jedi might end with some ATP and glycogen induced problems and need supplements or depending on the severity somewhat of a quick death, but what if someone did that to Anakin, because of course he needs more torture, and because his extreme accelerate regeneration, they melt and then get replaced in a neverending awful cycle. Because yes, I'm sure that would be fun.Melt those boy's midichlorian away–
Sorry I only had two hours of sleep and I visited four farms in a single day and is just now that I'm able to lay down, after being awake since 4 am

Would you please clarify which chromosome issue you are referring to that impacts infants' communication/expression?
4q deletions, especially 4q21, are notorious for fucking up expressive language due to interfering with Coenzyme Q10 production via mucking up the COQ2 gene. Supplementing with oral coq10 can actual impact language development in kids with this issue, and I've watched r-lipoic acid supplementation act in minutes to help a kid make more attempts at communication, which was bugnuts fucking wild to watch a kid go from almost silent to like 30 attempts in 20 minutes starting about ten minutes after the very low dose of research grade r lipoic acid salt.
Coq10 is a complex molecule involved deeply in mitochondrial function and the kreb cycle, so there are many points, including a couple on 4q, that can have similar effects despite affecting different genes. It's like..
Okay so I've been watching this show on computer repair where this guy troubleshoots users computers. Many of the times the symptoms look identical to the untrained eye: computer won't turn on, or turns on and crashes immediately. The number of things that can cause this is huge. Motherboard alone has thousands of places to have problems and he only tries to narrow it down to the large components, he doesn't usually figure out exactly what is wrong with the motherboard. But sometimes it's the processor or ram or power supply or video card or even the card slot or a cable got misplaced.
A 4q deletion in the coq2 instance is causing a supply problem for the mitochondria that looks like the human equivalent of a low charge alkaline battery in a flashlight in babies. Bursts of attempts at play followed by brownouts... Like when you turn a flashlight on and it's bright and then rapidly fades and goes out but if you wait you can get another burst of light. My kid used to be happy and playing and then just zone out noodle limp on the floor, conscious but not really functional, then she'd play again for a few minutes and then zonk.
And that analogy is almost obsolete. Anyway. She stopped having brownouts when we started coq10 supplementation and started gaining vocabulary. But the r lipoic acid, which affects how coq10 is used and recycled in the body, was necessary to help her actually use the coq10 better.

Story at-a-glance
Mitochondrial dysfunction is a key driver of neurodegeneration, with research showing that a single resting cortical neuron requires 4.7 billion ATP molecules every second for energy
When mitochondria lose their efficient shape, electrons escape and form reactive oxygen species (ROS), triggering cellular damage and stress that particularly affects brain cells
Research shows 42% of adults over 55 develop dementia by age 95, with projected new cases expected to double from 514,000 in 2020 to 1 million by 2060
Mitochondria act as cellular calcium buffers — when this function fails, calcium floods cells and triggers the mitochondrial permeability transition pore, leading to widespread neuron death
Key mitochondrial health strategies include eliminating seed oils, optimizing carbohydrate intake, reducing environmental toxin exposure, getting proper sun exposure and boosting NAD⁺ levels through supplements

Cellular Energy Secrets: Boost Vitality & Slow Aging Naturally
Introduction
In today’s fast-paced world, many people struggle with fatigue, lack of mental clarity, and premature aging. The key to sustaining high energy levels and longevity lies at the cellular level—specifically in our mitochondria. This book explores how you can enhance your mitochondrial health naturally and how Mitolyn, a revolutionary supplement, can support this process.
Chapter 1: Understanding Cellular Energy & Mitochondrial Function What is Cellular Energy? Our bodies run on energy, and the primary source of this energy is ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate). ATP is produced within mitochondria, the tiny powerhouses found inside each of our cells. Healthy mitochondria ensure that our body functions efficiently, while weakened mitochondria can lead to fatigue, brain fog, and aging-related problems.Factors That Affect Mitochondrial Health.
1. Poor Diet: Processed foods, excess sugar, and unhealthy fats can damage mitochondria.
2. Lack of Physical Activity: A sedentary lifestyle leads to weak mitochondria, reducing ATP production.
3. Toxins & Pollution: Environmental toxins can cause oxidative stress, damaging cells and slowing energy production.
