⚡️ hii!! this is my first post. i really want to join this community but to be honest, i have no idea how or what even to say. instead, i’ll just share my interests and see if anyone has it in common!! ⭐️

im an avid reader!! my favourite books are the mysterious benedict society, daughter of the deep + more. i also enjoy miss peregrine’s peculiar children, the lockwood & co series and a little guilty pleasure series of mine is the alex rider book series. even if i don’t like that the books that much, rereading it is weirdly comforting. im also a riordanverse fan!! my favs are magnus chase and the kane chronicles.

my favourite shows are jurassic world camp cretaceous, bad education, alex rider + modern family. my favourite movies are christopher robin, boss baby, sing (don’t ask abt the last two…i have an unhealthy attachment to them), sonic the hedgehog 2 and nimona. i also watch bollywood movies! my favourite is probably secret superstar :)

oh, im also a MASSIVE comic fan. marvel comics are my favourite but i dabble in DC if i like the character. my favourite superhero team is champions but x-men is close second <3. i am an mcu hater through and through but i can hold conversation about it. my favourite superheroes are ms marvel, nova (sam), cyclops, ironheart, iceman, spiderman (miles) + more!

im not entirely sure what else i can say. my main ongoing interests encompass peter pan + narnia. those two come back no matter what i do!!

some of my favourite authors are jonathan stroud, rick riordan, roshani chokshi, millie florence (she let me beta read her book!!), elle mcnicoll + more. i really should make a more decisive list instead of changing it up everytime.

anyway, i hope that’s enough as a first post. PLEASE comment and interact so i can meet more people.

Jessica’s fate is a miniature of what's happening to all the children in this universe: victims of a previous generation’s imperial extraction while everyone assigns blame in the wrong direction. I think that’s intentional but, given that, I’m not sure what to make of how they use all those hoarded relics later in the series. Maybe I’ll have a clearer idea when I get there, although I feel like the politics get pretty muddled at the end of Ptolemy’s Gate also, so sometimes you just decide to set aside your themes for a cool set piece. I get it.

Anyway if Listener powers can overcome the language barrier I think Lucy should ask those people who they are so they can be returned. IDK how Lockwood's parents got all those artifacts, but I find it hard to believe people willingly handed over the literal souls of their relatives.

Guys this fic was so so so good like I stayed up way later than I should have reading it. It was just immaculte. Unnamed Ghost Hunter Agency AU

Based on Lockwood & Co (Spoilers for some plot elements)

Fifty years ago, the world became infested by ghosts and demons that would haunt the entire world and bring harm and even death to the living, leaving everyone trapped in fears. At the same time, a small percentage of people were granted paranormal power of the spirits and psychic, allowing them to interact with the ghosts and send them back to the spirit realm. An organization is formed called the World Ghost Hunter Organization (not creative I know) to train people with even the simplest psychic power in seeing the spirit realm into Ghost Hunters and defeat the ghosts and hopefully one day free the world from the spirits.

In the present day, a young man named Yuma Kokohead, a former Ghost Hunter from the WGHO, is heading into Kanai Ward, one of the most haunted cities, if not areas, in the world, to the point it had to be isolated from the rest of the world. But there are rumors that because of having to rely on themselves, the city’s population, especially Amaterasu Corporation, developed and discovered ways to handle the ghosts. Eventually becoming a source of resources for the world to handle ghosts. Yuma is traveling over to the city in the hope he could find a way to heal his twin brother from a ghost-lock. But he needs to be able to sustain himself while staying in the city, and unfortunately can’t get a job because he is an outsider to the city. Luckily, he finds one through an independent ghost hunting agency called the Nocturnal Ghost Hunting Agency, run by Chief Yakou and misfit members of the WGHO, and now must bring back his ghost hunting skills to help protect Kanai Ward from the ghosts while finding a way to save Makoto (and uncover the dark secrets of Kanai Ward along the way).

lockwood and co characters ranked by how well they’d drive in a hypothetical modern world

1. Holly- do I need to explain? She took lessons, has a cute car with an air freshener, fun bumper stickers, and instead of road rage, uses positive language that comes out INCREDIBLY passive-aggressive (“wow! that driver should consider turn-signals!”)

2. Lockwood- He can drive but nobody fully trusts him behind the wheel. He drives like he’s on a time limit to get to the destination, even when it’s just a leisurely trip to the grocery store. He finds “shortcuts” that are just backroads through the woods that only extend the trip. It’s not to a veeery dangerous extent but he’s def not the most trusted driver

3. Lucy- major road rage and in a very hypocritical way. will complain abt drivers running red lights and not notice herself going through them. blasts music through the radios. exchanges frequent meaningful eye contact with lockwood (great, but not while on a highway!)

4. George- honestly can’t picture him driving. he is a public transit supporter through and through. has essays abt why amtrak needs to extend to cover more routes. is it because he just doesn’t feel like driving? only a little.

5. kipps- got told he was too short to legally drive and hasn’t taken the test since

Yes, yes, I know, we hate comparing Lockwood to Kaz. They are fundamentally different characters with very different personalities, and I would absolutely see Lockwood as more of a Nikolai when it comes to finding a personality parallel in the Grishaverse.

HOWEVER!

I think it's fun to note how both Lockwood and Kaz were younger siblings (by a large-ish age gap) who lost their older siblings (who they very much looked up to) at a young age and have a burning hatred and desire for revenge against the thing that took them away (Visitors or Pekka Rollins). And their solution to this was to run a group of teens as the Boss In Charge (assuming the older sibling role, if you will) and becoming the best at what they do (Ghost Hunting or Crime). They both repress their grief and (some) emotions (in very VERY different ways, but it is still repressed) and as a result their team goes a LONG time not knowing the Reasons For Their Trauma. They both begin the path of healing (at very different paces) by beginning to open up to their love interest who happens to also work for them. They are both also absolutely theater kids at heart (see disguises, accents, acting, desire to commit heists, etc.).

Anyway all this to say that Kaz and Lockwood are very fundamentally different, but their stories take on a lot of similar beats so I am deffo intrigued by the comparison.
