i wanted to make some dinky elevator pitch introductions for my fav ocs because.. i dont talk about them very coherently it seems. or at all! what!!

so from what i gather in my notes, razz is the only recognizable one around here who got their lore blasted from a megaphone the second i came up with it. after that i got shy.. i was too busy having thoughts to ever explain who molly and Q were or where they came from. and its been like 2 years. well!

nat and molly are formerly codependent childhood friends and funhouse mirror versions of each other who split paths after high school. theyre like if two besties fated to be a detective duo spat on fate's shoes and ran off in different directions to do the same thing but badly & alone.. molly actually hit the books to become a private investigator, champion of truth and justice, while nat hit the pavement to become a paparazzo, champion of clickbait. they hate each other a lot but given the slightest chance they will attach at the hip again and drain the life from each other.

Q is later to the party, a terminally exhausted college dropout and shut-in with a notable (anonymous) presence in the online music scene. every slight inconvenience in his life is a straw and when the last one hits boy is he ready to just drive into the sunset or maybe the ocean or maybe just live in his car and stop talking to people forever. if the band they joined out of peer pressure makes it big or they get found out for their alter ego its so over..but luckily they started dating the most nosy and paranoid idiot alive & inadvertently pissed off the second most nosy and paranoid idiot alive in the process, so surely nothing like that could ever happen

these goobs run in slightly different circles that overlap juuust enough to be a problem, and its hard not to run into the most annoying eccentrics in their unserious version of LA slightly stuck out of time. if i were reintroducing lore important characters itd include plenty more than just them (eg freddy mysteriously missing from this description of events as if he isnt also there) but imho i have no obligation to pay attention to anything outside the range of my hyperfixation blast. the important thing to me rn is just to let yall know what the hell im talking about when i make stupid jokes everyday about girlies who dont exist <3

I kinda have a parallel between the trio with each having been heavily affected by death(s) in the past that left a lingering mark on them to the present (Alex with his parents, Josie and her family), but I'm not sure if I've mentioned Jamie's situation on here....

I think I mentioned at one point, that when they were younger an illness hit the orphanage they were at (an unfortunately Very common thing that happened in the past). A lot of people never recovered, including one of the only friends Jamie had at the place. They linger still with survivors guilt with the experience, despite be quite young at the time and only having fragmented memories of what happened.

✨ (how did you come up with the ocs name): so fun fact, i genuinely have no idea. I was in the car thinking about this character idea and was like “ok brain whats a good name?” it whispered back “ehhhh Molly?” me: “cool cool, last name?” brain: “…tindell?” me: “never heard that last name before but sure.” and thus Molly Tindell was born. Also i just decided her middle name is Lousie.

Molly and Allie first meet on some beach Molly always walks down on her way to the college she teaches at. Everybody in the area knows to avoid it cause reasons so she's trying to explain to Allie, this apparent tourist (which they haven't had in like 50 years what the hell is going oN) that they should maybe definitely not be here while trying to not be late bc she'd already been like 5 other times that week cause she easily gets sidetracked and doesn't wanna lose her job lol

She has a huge family (also plot reasons) and since she has so many younger siblings/nephews/nieces she's much more willing to put up with Allie's constant cold shoulders

As she's trying to get to know Allie she eventually starts wearing hoodies and stuff he might wear to sorta fit in better so to speak (it doesn't work sadge)

She needs so much therapy, so much fucking therapy oh my gods

I'd never make a comic about it cause that'd be wayyy too much work and I can't draw but I like to think if I did there'd be a little counter above her, always somewhere on the page, counting down till the flood (it's its whole thing and even I don't know how it works)

Allie almost exclusively wears sneakers just cause

He has that atrocious haircut (at least at the beginning of the timeline) cause back a couple years he tried cutting his own hair since he wanted it to be short but his mom found out and um. There was a certain incident with scissors.

He was friends with a ghost as a (younger) kid, pretty sure I mentioned this cause it's plot-relevant but said ghost lived under the stairs at his apartment

He was friends with some other teens in universe A (or is it B?? I have them mixed up at this point) who essentially abandoned them the moment they disappeared. He rlly needs to get better at choosing friends 😭

He is (or was, again depending on where he is on the timeline) the son or rather "daughter" (hate misgendering him but he doesn't figure out all that till later) of a top government official who may or may not be incredibly corrupt
