Gregory and Lucy’s Children
Mr. Gregory and Lady Lucinda Bridgerton were the most prolific of the dowager viscountess’s children and children-in-law, having nine children: Katharine, Richard, Hermione, Daphne, Anthony (known more commonly as Ant), Benedict (known more commonly as Ben), Colin, Eloise (known more commonly as El), and Francesca (known more commonly as Frannie). Eldest daughter, Katharine is her mother’s child, something her father absolutely adores. Katharine is also very interested in doing good and helping people, which is part of what draws her to her husband, the fourteenth marquess of Rutherford. Meanwhile, Richard reminds his grandmother of her eldest son. Alongside two of his cousins, Richard is somewhat of a troublemaker. That trouble even extends to his wife, an earl’s sister. Second daughter Hermione is more of a wallflower than three of her sisters. She also refuses to let people snigger at the expense of other people’s appearances, even if they aren’t the most flattering of wardrobes. This leads Hermione into the arms of a viscount’s sixth son. Third daughter, Daphne also takes after her namesake. She’s a nurturing soul, which is why her family is shocked when she announces her dislike of a baron she hardly knows. Of course, said baron (whose barony was a result of heroic actions after a carriage accident) ends up becoming Daphne’s husband. Second son, Ant also takes after his namesake, but he has a more romantic soul than his namesake. Perhaps not the most eligible bachelor amongst the ton, Ant still broke hearts when he became engaged to a baron’s daughter. Third son, Ben is somehow both his namesake’s double and complete opposite. However, Ben does channel his namesake when he falls in love with the bastard daughter of a duke. Fourth son, Colin is also very similar to his namesake. Labeled the second most rakish of Violet Bridgerton’s grandsons, Colin breaks hearts when he announces his engagement to an American heiress. Fourth daughter, El, is also very similar to her namesake. She vowed to remain uninterested in marriage, but a young doctor managed to grab her attention instead and within a few months, they were engaged. Fifth daughter and youngest child, Frannie is a strange and compelling combination of her two namesakes. However, she doesn’t follow either of their examples and ends up with the most scandalous choice for a husband… the bastard son of a courtesan.
Katharine Hazel Bridgerton
Born in 1828, Katharine takes after her mother. She is very organized and likes to keep things orderly. She is a mini Lucy and Gregory absolutely adores it.
Katharine’s godfather is Anthony and her godmother is Hyacinth.
When Katharine was little, Gregory often called her “Katie-Kate.” It tapered off when she was about six, but it comes back sporadically as she gets older.
Katharine is quite close with her cousins, Jane Bridgerton and Isabella St. Clair. Katharine provides a balance between Isabella’s wildness and Jane’s reserve. She keeps Isabella from steamrolling over Jane and Jane from going along with everyone’s ideas.
Like her namesake, Katharine is very close with her sisters. However, she is probably the closest to Hermione, as there’s only three years between them and Hermione debuts right around the time that Katharine falls in love.
Of her cousins-in-law, Katharine is quite close with Helena “Nell” Shepherd, Charles Bridgerton’s wife. Nell is older than her, but she was the governess of Katharine’s youngest siblings. This allowed Katharine to spend a lot of time with Nell. She was thrilled when Charles announced that he was engaged to Nell.
In 1848, Katharine meets the fourteenth marquess of Rutherford and falls hard for him. Gabriel “Gabe” Montgomery isn’t necessarily scandalous, but an old scandal hangs over him. Katharine finds his altruism endearing and doesn’t share the same sentiments about Gabe’s choice of staff (former pickpockets, street urchins, and those who just couldn’t find work) as the rest of the ton.
Katharine married Gabe in 1848, when she was twenty and he was twenty-five.
Katharine and Gabe have two children together, a son named Henry Gabriel Edmund Montgomery and a daughter named Cora Lucinda Montgomery.
Richard Edmund Bridgerton
Born in 1829, Richard reminds his grandmother of his uncle Anthony. He’s competitive and argumentative and protective and sometimes shies away from emotional connections in his romantic relationships. Of course, there’s also the obvious that Richard, like Uncle Anthony, is the eldest son.
Richard’s godfather is Simon and his godmother is Hermione.
Richard shares a birthday with his cousin, John “Jack” Stirling ii. He’s a few hours older than Jack, though. He doesn’t mind, as the joint family celebrations were always fun. It did give Gregory and Lucy some practice for when the twins came, though.
Until the age of eight, Richard was mostly known as “Richie.” However, upon turning eight, he decided that Richie was too much of a baby name and that Richard was a much more grown up name.
Richard’s best friends are his cousins, Frederick Crane and Jack Stirling. He is less level-headed than Jack and less wild than Frederick.
Richard is the second tallest of his brothers. He’s taller than both Ant and Colin, but shorter than Ben. He is not a fan of the fact that Ben is taller than him.
Richard falls in love with the daughter and sister of an earl named Elizabeth Winslow. She also happens to be the twin sister of Frederick Crane’s wife and the best friend of Jack Stirling’s wife. Richard and Elizabeth’s courtship isn’t necessarily scandalous. However, it was complicated because Elizabeth was being blackmailed to find dirt on the Bridgerton family.
Richard married Elizabeth in 1856, when he was twenty-seven and she was twenty-three.
Richard and Elizabeth have three children together, Lucy, Christian and Nora. Their eldest is a daughter named Lucy Elizabeth Bridgerton. She is three years older than their second child, a son named Christian Richard Bridgerton. Their youngest is a daughter named Leonora Beatrice “Nora” Bridgerton, born two years after Christian.
Hermione Sophia Bridgerton
Born in 1831, Hermione is a bit of a wallflower. She’s always had more of a scholarly bend and is infinitely fascinated by medieval history. She loves to read and enjoys learning new things. However, Hermione is also quite sociable and enjoys making new friends.
Hermione’s godfather is Benedict and her godmother is Kate.
Out of all of her numerous cousins, Hermione is closest to Janet Stirling, Mary Bridgerton, and Georgie Bridgerton. Janet and Mary are only a year older, so they sort of took her under their wings during her first season alongside her elder sister and a few other cousins. Meanwhile, Georgie is the same age as her, so they got along quite well when they were younger.
Hermione falls in love with the sixth son of a viscount named Neil Pemberton. Neil is perhaps not an inherently scandalous choice, but he’s sort of the laughing stock of the ton. He’s a dandy, dressing in brightly colored clothing, and his legs were crushed in a horse riding accident when he was sixteen. Hermione doesn’t care about any of that and is completely enthralled by Neil.
Hermione married Neil in 1854, when she was twenty-three and he was twenty-six.
Hermione and Neil have five children, Albie, Hugo, Enola, Jacob, and Zachary. Their eldest child, Albert Gregory “Albie” Pemberton, is eighteen months older than their second child, Hugo Benedict Pemberton. Their third child and only daughter, Enola Hermione Pemberton, is two years younger than Hugo. Their fourth child, Jacob Cornelius Pemberton, is three years younger than Enola. Their fifth child, Zachary Neil Pemberton, is four years younger than Jacob.
Daphne Violet Bridgerton
Born in 1832, Daphne takes after her namesakes in her very nurturing soul. She often helped her mother out with her numerous younger siblings and often brought home injured animals. This was how Gregory and Lucy ended up adopting a nearly-deaf basset hound, which Gregory named Simon, and a one-eyed kitten.
Daphne’s godfather is Colin and her godmother is Sophie.
She is often called “Daff” around the extended Bridgerton clan. It’s easier to differentiate between her and her aunt that way, but unlike some of her siblings, Daphne doesn’t generally go by a nickname.
Daphne is very close to her older sister, Hermione. There’s only a year between them, so they’ve always sort of been together and Daphne takes Hermione’s (and Katharine’s) advice seriously.
One other thing that Daphne has in common with her namesake is that she has always wanted a family. She babies her younger siblings, the family’s animals, her younger cousins (of which there aren’t many), and her dolls.
Daphne falls for a baron named Timothy Hatcher, whose title was given to him after he saved the lives of some very influential people. However, Daphne and Timothy do not start off on the right foot. They spend a lot of time bickering and sort of mimicking her Uncle Anthony and Aunt Kate’s love story.
Daphne married Timothy in 1852, when she was twenty and he was twenty-six.
Daphne and Timothy have two children. Their son, Gregory Josiah Hatcher, is three years older than their daughter, Imogene Daphne Hatcher.
Anthony Gareth “Ant” Bridgerton
Born in 1834, Ant is quite similar to his namesake (and his older brother). He’s competitive and argumentative and protective. However, Ant is also more of a romantic than his uncle or brother ever were. He just has a different outlook on romance than either Anthony or Richard.
Ant’s godfather is Lucy’s brother, Richard and his godmother is Eloise.
Ant is closest to his cousin, Edward Basset. They’re the same age and Ant has gotten into multiple fights because someone decided to mock Edward’s stutter.
Ant, along with his younger brothers, terrorized many tutors and governesses when they were younger. He was definitely a mastermind behind many of their plots and pranks.
Ant ends up becoming a gentleman farmer. His wife’s only dowry is a small plot of land near the Scottish border and he decided to learn how to handle the land. He is fascinated by new developments in agriculture.
Ant falls in love with the daughter of a Scottish baron who is close to financial ruin. Her name is Fiona MacKenzie and she was supposed to marry a rich titled man to save her family from financial ruin. Instead, Fiona falls for Ant, the second son of a fourth son.
Ant married Fiona in 1860, when he was twenty-six and she was twenty-one.
Ant and Fiona had four children together, Graham, Elsie, Harriet, and Archie. Their eldest children were twins named Graham Anthony Bridgerton and Elsie Fiona Bridgerton. Their third child, a daughter named Harriet Lucinda Bridgerton, was born three years after the twins. Their youngest child, a son named Archibald Gregory “Archie” Bridgerton was born three years after Harriet.
Benedict Michael “Ben” Bridgerton
Born in 1836, Ben is both the complete opposite and the double of his namesake. He couldn’t draw to save his life. He’s loud and doesn’t avoid balls or other events. However, he’s also often the mediator in arguments between his siblings, especially with Colin and the twins. He’s quite close to his mother.
Ben’s godfather is Gareth and his godmother is Francesca.
Ben looks up to his older cousins a lot. Out of them all though, he is probably the closest to Edward Basset as Edward is only a year older than Ben. However, Frederick Crane was perhaps one of the more influential cousins as Ben became a barrister, like Frederick.
Ben sometimes makes decisions without thinking. He doesn’t often come to regret them, but when he does, he tries to get out of them as chaotically as he can.
During the early part of the 1863 season, Ben became engaged to the daughter of Arthur Haselby. However, hours before the wedding is supposed to take place, Ben realizes that he doesn’t want this. He doesn’t want to marry her and oh god, he doesn’t know what he was thinking when agreeing to marry her. Lucy and Gregory don’t stop their son from fleeing. The family was very lucky that Ben’s engagement hadn’t been very public and that the woman he was engaged to was also very relieved that their engagement was over.
In a spectacular channeling of his namesake, Ben falls in love with a duke’s bastard daughter. It was his broken engagement that propelled him to meet Evie Wright as he stumbled into the dress shop she was working in. Ben falls for Evie very quickly. It’s a scandalous choice, of course, but Ben doesn’t care that she’s a bastard or that she was a seamstress’s apprentice.
Ben married Evie in 1863, when he was twenty-seven and she was twenty-three.
Ben is incredibly supportive of Evie’s desire to become a dress designer. He tries to convince every woman in his life to hire Evie and let her design a dress for them.
Ben and Evie have four children together, Sam, Alfred, Ezra, and Lucinda. There are two years between their children. The birth order is Samuel Gregory “Sam” Bridgerton, Alfred Benedict Bridgerton, Ezra Michael Bridgerton, and Lucinda Mary Bridgerton.
Colin Gregory Bridgerton
Born in 1838, Colin is very similar to his namesake. Out of Gregory and Lucy’s children, he probably takes the most after his namesake. He’s a troublemaker and can talk himself out of a lot. He has a massive appetite. He is also probably the second most rake-like of Violet Bridgerton’s grandsons. His older cousin, George St. Clair, is the most rake-like.
Colin’s godfather is Michael and his godmother is Daphne.
His namesake loves to call him “mini-me.” Colin usually rolls his eyes and tells his uncle that they don’t look that much alike.
Colin inherited his father’s shrewd eye for investments. He makes enough money to purchase his own small property and keep himself and his family comfortable.
Colin is very much a romantic. He wants to fall in love and does have one major heartbreak before he meets his final love.
Colin’s final love is an American heiress named Vivian Marsh. She doesn’t want to be in England and her father is encouraging her to choose either a title or a wealthy merchant. Colin is neither of those and he strives to impress both Vivian and her father.
Colin married Vivian in 1863, when he was twenty-five and she was twenty-one.
Vivian and Colin have three children together, Daniel, Benji, and Eugenie. Their eldest is a son named Daniel Gregory Bridgerton. Two years after Daniel, their second child, a son named Benjamin Colin “Benji” Bridgerton is born. Four years after Benji, their youngest and only daughter, Eugenie Lucinda Bridgerton, is born.
Eloise Lucinda “El” Bridgerton
Born in 1840, El is very similar to her namesake. She reads everything that she can get her hands on and was never exactly looking to get married. She is fascinated by the reform developments that are occurring, especially for women. However, El is also more subdued than her namesake.
El’s godfather is Phillip and her godmother is Penelope.
El is very friendly and makes friends quite quickly. However, she definitely prefers to have friends that her twin sister is not friends with. El adores Frannie, but sometimes wants to be separated from her twin.
El really looks up to her older cousins, Charlotte Bridgerton and Caroline Basset. She followed them around a lot when she was child. She’s also extremely impressed by how Charlotte controlled her own destiny and didn’t let anyone force the term “spinster” onto her.
El falls in love with a young doctor named Adam Howe. He’s ton-adjacent and from a very wealthy family. El meets him during a house party and is instantly fascinated by him. She couldn’t even tell you why she’s fascinated by him, but she is. Perhaps, it’s that she senses a kindred spirit.
In a modern AU, El would identify as bi. In regency times, though, the only person who ever knows about El’s attraction to women is her husband, Adam Howe. Adam also admits that he has had the same feelings towards men, but that nothing has ever beaten his fierce attraction to her.
El married Adam in 1861, when she was twenty-one and he was twenty-seven.
El and Adam have one daughter, Andromeda Eloise “Andie” Howe.
Francesca Hyacinth “Frannie” Bridgerton
Born in 1840, Frannie is a strange yet compelling combination of her namesakes. She’s quiet, sly, wild, and doesn’t put up with anyone’s shit. It’s very interesting for the older Bridgertons to try and piece together what aspect of her personality is from which person. Frannie is also the quieter twin.
Frannie’s godfather is Phillip and her godmother is Penelope.
As the youngest Bridgerton grandchild, Frannie is used to being babied and protected by all of her older cousins, siblings, aunts, and uncles. It’s sometimes annoying, but she does know that she can always count on them.
The man that Frannie falls in love with, Nathaniel Moore, is extremely scandalous. As the bastard son of a courtesan, Nathaniel is the most scandalous of the Bridgerton: Next Generation spouses. Frannie doesn’t care. She ends up being the last unmarried Bridgerton granddaughter (beyond you know, great-granddaughters), so she feels a little more comfortable with her choice.
Frannie is older than her husband, Nathaniel by about six months. His birthday is in December and her birthday is in June.
Frannie married Nathaniel in 1862, when they were both twenty-two. Well, actually she was twenty-two and he was a few days shy of his twenty-second birthday.
Frannie and Nathaniel have four children, Joseph, Rilla, Edie, and Owen. Their eldest is a son named Joseph Gregory Moore. Their second child is a daughter named Rilla Lucinda Moore. Their third child is a daughter named Edith Francesca “Edie” Moore. Their fourth child is a son named Owen Nathaniel Moore.
Anthony & Kate’s children • Benedict & Sophie’s children • Colin & Penelope’s children • Daphne & Simon’s children • Eloise & Phillip’s children • Francesca & Michael’s children • Hyacinth & Gareth’s children

The Great Queer Bridgerton Ship Poll: THE RESULTS!!!
First off, we’d just like to thank everyone for taking part in this silliness. We clocked in at 204,232 votes when we closed the poll with votes still coming in. Deeply unserious, we’re very touched.
That being said this is also VERY serious. Lives are at stake.
Onto the numbers for places (under the cut - cos it's LONG!)
Or read the results thread here on our twitter.
31. Daphne Bridgerton/Alice Mondrich - 0 votes (0.00%)
Sorry girls!
29 =. Colin Bridgerton/Harry Dankworth - 1 vote (0.0005%)
The Danklin nation were not assembled for this fight. One noble voter stood proud!
29 =. Harry Dankworth/Lord Fife - 1 vote (0.0005%)
The vote is entirely anonymous so we will never know who this one brave soul was that swung for the only Fife ship in the poll. It will ever remain a mystery…
23 = . Siena Rosso/Mme Delacroix - 2 votes (0.0010%)
Maybe next time, ladies.
23 = . Violet Bridgerton/Portia Featherington - 2 votes (0.0010%)

23 = . Mary Sharma/Queen Charlotte - 2 votes (0.0010%)
Not enough follow through on this tension to capture more votes.

The girls are taking a hit in the polls.

20 =. Kate Sharma/Sophie Beckett - 4 votes (0.0020%)
A previous fan favourite has slipped down the rankings in this poll!
20 = . Eloise Bridgerton/Edwina Sharma - 4 votes (0.0020%)

Too many people afraid of the power of these two women kissing.
18 =. Anthony Bridgerton/Thomas Dorset - 6 votes (0.0029%)
Apparently two men holding each other and falling into a lake isn’t homoerotic enough for some.

Another book ship taking on show giants.
15. Eloise Bridgerton/Marina Thompson - 11 votes (0.0054%)

A very respectable 12th place for Daphida!
11. Eloise Bridgerton/Penelope Featherington - 236 votes (0.1156%)
A perhaps shock result to not crack the top ten!
10. Gregory Bridgerton/Gareth St. Clair - 403 votes (0.1973%)
Huge result for a book character not yet in the show! Top ten!

2. Benedict Bridgerton/Henry Granville - 84,285 votes (41.2692%)
Voters gave it their all in the last 24 hours, but ultimately couldn’t take the win. A very worthy silver!

Unreal rush at the end, nearly breaking the poll. The sapphics take the crown of Best Queer Bridgerton Ship!
