here are all of the fics i enjoyed between march 1st-11th 2025! some new, some old. mostly smut so MDNI!
characters: javier peña, joel miller, frankie morales, dave york, marcus acacius
Tumblr media
if this works out, i may keep posting these little recaps whenever i have a some recs built up. i wanted to share my thoughts and some quotes instead of just listing the name and author, and i quickly realized a monthly list would be too long for that. i hope you can find some good reads and show the authors a little love!
note to the authors: ilyyy. you all have amazing minds, and deserve so so much appreciation. thank you for sharing your work, and enabling me to read smut instead of watch movies <3 if you were tagged in this and would like to have your work removed for any reason, please let me know!
WARNING: many of these fics contain dark themes that could be triggering. i will try to label accordingly, but PLEASE read the warnings. not all of these are for everyone!
smut- ♡ angst- ★ fluff- ✿ dark- !!
Tumblr media
♡ wicked whims by @myownwholewildworld (wc: 1.1k - oneshot)
pairing: javier peña x f!reader
summary: javi catches you playing wicked whims in the sims and decides to make your fantasies a reality.
thoughts: march started out incredibly strong with this absolute banger. this fic IS FOR ME. i feel seen, i feel understood, i feel sexually frustrated. i will be reinstalling wicked whims tonight, consider my first sims 4 phase of 2025 activated.
Tumblr media
★ ♡ who will i say goodnight to when you're gone? by @miss-oranje-disco-dancer (wc: 3.6k - oneshot)
pairing: javier peña x reader
summary: you are javi are just coworkers who sleep together, nothing more
thoughts: AGHHH. the smutty angst is so good. i cant put it into words so i’ll just let it speak for itself:
'Maybe Javier kisses because it's the one form of intimacy that doesn't force you to look the other person in the eye. Eyes are the window to the soul, they say. Javi's eyes contain a softness that you cannot find outside of warm summer nights that exist so far in space and time that you can barely reach the memories. He holds hope in his entire body — hope isn't usually a pretty little thing that Emily Dickinson said it was - it's hardened and stubborn, it is the fucking metal bars that keep him here in Colombia despite it all.'
Tumblr media
♡ !! nena mala by @pedrosyouknowwhat (oneshot) !! TW !!
pairing: Dark! Javier Peña x Dark! Reader
summary: After the fall of the godfathers, Peña takes his personally desired target.
thoughts: god i love it when javier peña is the worst person ever. hello my old friend, degradation kink.
Tumblr media
★ The boyfriend act, part 7: "The one with unexpected visit” by @capuccinodoll (ch wc: 10.4k - series) (★- only angst as of now?)
pairing: frankie morales x f!reader
SERIES summary: All you wanted was to get to Austin, but instead of your brother, it’s Frankie —Santi’s best friend, the one you can barely stand— who shows up in Dallas. He’s just doing your brother a favor, but the trip takes an unexpected turn when a stop puts you face to face with your ex — the guy who broke your heart three months ago and is now about to get married.
Out of pride, you blurt out a lie: Frankie is your boyfriend. Surprised but willing to play along, he agrees, with one condition — you must accompany him to his mother’s birthday. His plan? Dodge his family’s meddling and their endless matchmaking schemes.
thoughts: im absolutely obsessed with this series, you really dont want to get me started… this WILL continue to show up in future fic rec posts because it’s so so good omg (read it). if for some reason you’d like to read a more extensive version of my thoughts on this chapter, you can read this incredibly long reblog.
Tumblr media
♡ Eight Ball Corner Pocket by @thechaoticcherub (wc: 7.7k - oneshot)
pairing: Jackson!Joel x Plus Size!Reader
summary: Reader goes on a really bad date, Joel steps in to help make her forget it.
thoughts: this was such a lovely read (and so hot omfg). i cannot recommend this enough.
'“Quit it,” He said, “Don’t you think for a single second that you’re the one reachin’ here, i’m old enough to be your daddy and you’re…look at you.” You could see barely controlled lust in his eyes as they roamed over your body and the way he did it didn’t make you feel like he was appraising you to see if you were worth it. He was appreciating you. Appreciating the way your breasts stretched the fabric of your dress and the way you could see the curve of your belly, the way your thighs pressed together. You stared at him, trying to take in the truth of his statement, trying to remember how pretty you had found yourself that morning before you had been reminded of all the insecurities of your teenage years.'
Tumblr media
♡ !! because of you by @almostempty (wc: 7k - oneshot) !! TW !!
pairing: dave york x f!reader
summary: You reveal at a party that you've never cried during sex, but Dave is going to fix that for you.
thoughts: ill never forget you, unreliable narrator dave york. the way he obsesses over the reader, picking apart all of their conversations and interpreting everything in his special delusional way. UGH ITS SO GOOD. to keep this part brief, i will simply implore you to READ THIS (after you read the warnings), its brilliant.
'After that night, he notices you change tactics. You feed him little crumbs in every conversation. Leads you know he’ll follow. Hints about the weak spots in your relationship, your unlived dreams, your pent up desires. He knows what you’re asking for. He reads exactly what you’re saying between the lines. His walls are crumbling and it gets harder and harder to be the one solely responsible for keeping the boundaries between you. He compartmentalizes. Conceding. You can have his dreams, his showers, his mornings. Take them. Keep them. But it’s never enough. It grows stronger. To obsession.'
update: the award for the fic i thought about most after reading it goes to this beauty. i admitted in my reblog that i had never seen the equalizer movies, but this made me want to finally watch them so i could appreciate this to its fullest extent, and i did! i also sent this to my friend who doesn't read ppcu fics because its just that good. i'm not getting over this any time soon.
Tumblr media
✿ Just Coffee by @daryltwdixon (two parts)
pairing: joel miller x reader
'"Coffee. Just coffee." You could’ve kissed him right then and there. And he was handsome enough that you wouldn’t even have to close your eyes. He must’ve caught the way your shoulders relaxed, how the sigh left your body like a weight lifted.'
♡ Just Coffee II
summary: Joel picks you up after a long day, taking you somewhere small and familiar, where conversation flows as easily as the wine. As the night winds down and Joel insists on driving you home, neither of you are ready to say goodbye quite yet.
thoughts: this healed the ex-barista/assistant manager in me. to put it simply, pt.1 is fluffy joel gold and pt.2 is smutty joel GOLD. chefs kiss.
unnecessary lore drop: i (18 at the time) got asked out by a regular (65) and he DID NOT look like joel miller. maybe gary was the hot old man for someone, but def not for me. the owner of the coffee shop (50, married) had a huge crush on him, so that was amusing i guess.
Tumblr media
♡ One Of The Girls by @gothcsz (wc: 1.1k - oneshot)
pairing: Marcus Acacius x F!Reader x 3 F!Nameless OCs
summary: General Acacius has three women that he keeps solely for his indulgent pleasure and control, you want to become the fourth.
thoughts: GORGEOUS. the picture has been painted in my mind and it’s going to haunt me. this is just insane work, really. i need 4 more parts and a few days to recover.
‘The first time you heard whispers of his indulgences, you had thought them scandalous. A man of bloodshed, ruthless on the battlefield, bringing that same ruthless discipline into the bedroom. But when you had seen him that night, wielding pleasure like a weapon, you had known—this was the life you were meant for. Since then, obsession had taken root in you, winding tight around your ribs, pressing against your lungs with every thought of him. You spent your days languishing in fantasies, picturing what it would be like to be one of his girls—to be chosen, touched, tamed.’
Tumblr media
♡ First Sight by @gothcsz (wc: 3.5k - oneshot)
pairing: Frankie Morales x F!Reader
summary: Two strangers discover they’ve been swapping movies through a communal space, each leaving a note in return until curiosity forces a meeting.
thoughts: great smut. great banter. HOT. i need that man so bad.
'Things escalate fast. You’re sitting on the couch, the low hum of the movie playing in the background, the two of you exchanging quiet comments between drags of the joint he so effortlessly rolled. The space between you shrinks. His fingers graze your thigh, intentional but unhurried. You don’t remember who moves first. Maybe it’s you. Maybe it’s him. But your bodies are pressed together, mouths hungry, hands wandering. His cap gets flicked off, curls spilling into your fingers as you tug him closer, inhaling the scent of smoke and tasting the candy he’d been snacking on. The movie is forgotten. The joint smolders in the ashtray. You straddle his lap, rolling your hips down, and he groans against your mouth, gripping your waist.'

Top 10 Comics of 2024 [They're All Sapphic]
Every year is an amazing year for sapphic stories, people are putting out consistently amazing stuff and they will keep doing it even if the world makes it harder and harder. It is a really competitive year this year for my top slot with the top 4 really all being able to be number one so take the order of this list with a grain of salt. I can’t say enough how dazzled I was by some of the stories I read this year and there was a lot of really cute stories that while they didn’t have anything that wowed me I still enjoyed that just didn’t make the cut. Unlike last years list there is no none sapphic stories here, I read some non sapphic stories but they simply didn’t make the cut. So this is a great place for anyone looking for stories about women in love with women.
Last year I separated Manga from Webcomics and Comics but this year I didn't Read any new Manga, aka not part of an ongoing I was reading from last year that felt worthy of a top spot. So I will be including at least one of those ongoings on this list but they'll be no separate manga list. Here’s hoping 2025 I read so many great comics, Manga and webcomics there three separate lists so I can cheat and share more stories.
If you end up enjoying this list do remember you can help me afford to make art and engage art by going over to https://www.patreon.com/AlexisSara. I have a rough draft of a novel I am working on ready for 5 dollar + tiers and I give monthly updates for every tier on the video games, ttrpgs, novels and more that i am working on.
Tumblr media
10. If You’ll Have Me
This is a cute little modern romance by one of my favorite artists so I had to support it when I was given the chance. This is just a classic romance type story, not a ton of frills or twists to the normal romance formula except that it’s lesbains with a nice art style. A nerdy girl falls for a popular hottie with a reputation for getting around and love blooms through misunderstandings and tough feelings. It’s cute with a great art style, it’s just nice and a great book for if you just want to see a lesbian love story.
Tumblr media
9. LSBN
This is a short but sweet comic, it isn’t very long, it isn’t particularly deep, some trans lesbians were working on a mech to do big battles but suddenly their hit with an order for peace. Feelings get messy as years of work go down the drain and these women find themselves going to each other and the feelings they all have about this. The art itself is really unique, it has an extremely creative vision of it’s world that is really a spectacle to look at and for sure gives value to actually owning the book rather then checking it out just briefly since it is a fast read. It’s simple, sweet and good.
Tumblr media
8. The Marble Queen
This is a YA graphic novel which have a hard chance at making it on a list like this for me, I try to read a lot of them but I have such a hard time getting through them but here I really did get enthusiastic about this story. The biggest carry for the story is definitely the art, really striking art that truly makes this story stand out in the crowd. This is an arranged marriage gay romance where both parties fall in love with one another. It’s a very classic fantasy princesses type story in that way with you know scheming evil family and uproars and restoring order and what not. It is a fun book and the Pirate Woman in this story is very hot and I liked it, it’s just a solid classic formula type story. I have little critiques about it but ultimately I think it’s solid.
Tumblr media
 7. Rainbow!
This was a turn around of the century for me where I was really not in love with the first half of this story at all but having stuck it through basically exactly where volume 1 ends the story really picks up and starts to be something great. It’s cover and stuff pitches it as a kinda sweet and fluffy romance but this is a drama romance there just isn’t a lot of drama between the romantic interests themselves. This is the story about two women who are being abused in different ways by their mothers falling in love and how they as high schoolers deal with the shifting of their lives through meeting each other and though the new lows their moms push them to. It’s a good story and it’s good to see stories about people who are dealing with this kind of abuse still finding love and figuring out their own ways out of situations. It’s idealistic in some ways but I think some hope isn’t a bad thing to give to people. This is a really sweet story story even when it gets rough and it’s worth folks time.
Tumblr media
 6. Eldritch Darling
One of those comics that feel like they could be on this list every year but it wasn’t on last years list so I feel extra good about giving it a slot this year. This is a very cute small panel comedy romance webcomic. The plot as it were starts with an eldritch monster girl having taken on a human guise falling in love with a woman and trying to keep it together and from there we follow how their relationship blooms, her feelings about human life and her shifting feelings on herself. The relationship shifts and changes and it’s a good story with decent progress and has been slightly expanding out it’s characters and stuff over time as it keeps going. It’s short, sweet, good times for anyone looking for just a nice read.
Tumblr media
 5. The Deep Dark
A trans and cis woman romance with a ton of mess around them having secrets, toxic people in their lives and more all tied up with just a bit of the magical elements. Mags is a butch lesbian who’s got a big secret, a little monster tied to her she must feed her blood. This secret keeps her detached from everyone but small hookups with a girl who has a boyfriend and doesn’t want to come out. One day Nessa comes back to town, a trans woman and her old best friend, a person she cared so deeply about before the weight of her secret really got to her. She’s dealing with a creepy ex boyfriend and went back to her old home town to get away with him for the summer. Both are hesitant to share what’s going on with the other and both are effected by events that happened when they were a child that caused Nessa to move. The two’s connection is just really good and I like that both these women are very caught up in their own shit at first and really feel like they should be together but maybe can’t because of that. I think this is Molly Knox Ostertag’s best story so far and I am really glad she got to release it.
Tumblr media
4. She Loves To Cook And She Loves To Eat 4
A true masterpiece, I say this every time with She Loves To Cook and She Loves To Eat and I will keep saying it, I imagine She Loves To Cook and She Loves To Eat Volume 5 will be in next year's top 10 too. Sakaomi Yuzaki is simply a master of the craft of manga and storytelling that is beyond most people ever. The way she can capture the raw feelings captured by fatphobia, sexism, homophobia, lesbobia, aphobia, etc all while keeping a fairly soft and cozy tone is truly a testament to her craft. Volume 4 was a brilliant move forward in the story and the romance properly and it’s yet another testament that I enjoyed a fairly big slow burn when I am not a big slow burn enjoyer. The food looks brilliant, the character designs are fantastic, I can’t imagine a world where this story falls off.
Tumblr media
3. Superwomen In Love 4 and 5
Having finished this I can say that this is one of the best Yuri Manga of all time. While She Loves To Cook and She Loves To Eat is a masterpiece that makes me think about the true mastery of one of the mediums of art I work in and love the most, this story was just fucking fun as hell for me.We have big love confessions, fusion, action, mechs, and so much more. I really can’t say enough just how much of a blast this story is. I would kill to see this adapted it’s just such a freaking blast and it’s so gay and it’s so much fun. The main couple is really masterfully done and the side characters are all great and thought out to at least some small extent. It makes for a really great cast and a really great time. It’s stupid but it’s like perfectly my kind of stupid and I love it.
Tumblr media
2. The Strange Case of Harleen and Harley
Two of my favorite characters of all time get a fun YA retelling that honestly might be my favorite origin story for both characters ever. Harleen’s life has gone to shit, her and Pamala broke up for a bit and she ended up dating a dude who was a bit unhinged and murdered her bullies. That made her have to move, ruining everything she had going for her the only saving grace from her families judgement, the judgement of people around her and the crushing despair of potentially losing her access to higher education is that her and Pam got back together. Harleen agrees to enter clinical trials with Pamala when she suspects they are doing animal testing and wants to find out, plus it would get Harleen some money for signing up. The shots Harleen is subjected to awaken Harley inside of Harleen and start these two off on an adventure. It fits the characters, it does the representation of plurality so much better than most media I’ve seen, it doesn’t condemn doing crimes at all which is great for a villain story, it instead lets us just see criminals as people who make choices and you can judge those choices on your own. You will though be shown the rich fuckers running these experiments and hate them and it’s great. I really love this story, it’s probably my favorite YA book, it might be my favorite superhero comic ever, it’s just great.
Tumblr media
1. Sunset Phoenix
Lesbian Monsters, I did it that’s the review, shouldn’t have to sell it further than this. I will though, it’s a fantastical setting with magic but also very modern. Our Mob Boss is a Phoenix meaning she’s immortal unless you kill her with a special blade only a Phoenix can make. Someone kills another one of the Phoenix’s who run the city and the mobs and attempts to frame her spy for it which also frames her. The two have to work together to figure out who did it, prove they did it or else the best case for them is all out mob war and the worst case is their too dead to know what happens next. The story isn’t done yet but the first arc is finished meaning there is a very solid end point to hit if you pick this series up. The chemistry between Emilia and Valentine is just really strong and the action scenes are just super cool. It is one of those series that is like 10/10 everything I really have nothing negative to say about the book it just really perfectly does what it is trying to do and I like what it’s trying to do.

State of the Union, April 2025
Happy spring, y'all!
I've been putting a lot of focus on asks for a while now, as was my working plan from my January SOTU. I've put a pile of them out lately, but I still have a fair few to complete. My current plan is to continue to work through submissions while slightly shifting towards specific long-form projects that have had my focus lately.
I won't be starting any new long-form pieces for the time being (of course, I'm always open to new ideas nonetheless, if you guys feel inspired and have no one else to share them with). However, I will be putting more of my concentration towards finishing up those that're currently in-progress, as well as getting out follow-up chapters for a couple of extant works (namely Duplicity). If I post a little less frequently here over the coming few weeks, it's not because I'm feeling uninspired or because I'm not writing.
Though I may not always be able to play for long stretches of time, I will also be continuing with my playthrough of Fallout 3. I'm enjoying it, and many of you seem to have a lot of nostalgia for the game.
All of the master posts have been updated once more. From here on out, I'm gonna try my best to make doing so a monthly habit. I've created a separate master post for Fallout 76 content, as well as one for the "ranking" type questions, as they're increasingly popular and that 100 in-line link limit haunts me.
And, finally: I'm thinking about commissioning someone to design a few themed headers/text embellishments/flourishes, whatever you call them (graphic design is NOT my passion), for use on the blog. I'd kicked the idea around last year and now I'd like to pretty things up as a bit of a treat to myself, since I broke 1,000 followers around February. However, I don't have a super strong vision for what I'd like; mostly, I want to stick with the radioactive green/safety orange color scheme and incorporate some ghoul-associated icons like Rad-X bottles, Radaway bags. Whatever. I'd need someone who can pull more specific ideas out of the bedrock/can help me settle on a look. Naturally, I'd pay.
I know things are stressful and hard right now for pretty much everyone, but chin up, folks! At the very least, you'll still have a source of unhinged ranting and ghoulfucker porn. An appropriate amount of escapism does the soul good.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

May 2025 Reads
Helen of Troy, 1993 by Maria Zoccola--- I read this on a whim after seeing that V.E. Schwab read it on her Goodreads. (Yes, I follow and check it regularly.) I have been cautious of modern retellings of mythological things lately, mostly due to all the really bad ones. (If I see one more dark romance Greek retelling, I am going to cry.) Yet, I thought this would be better because it's poetry, and there are so many good mythological retellings. I didn't want to just not do any of them. I am so glad I did because I loved this. It was Helen of Troy, but it also wasn't. It was using Helen of Troy to explore our modern world in a really good way. I listened to the audiobook which really added to my reading experience. Although, I do kind of wish that I could read it too to take it in a little better. This was a killer poetry book and especially good for the fact that it did tell a story. I specifically liked the "Helen of Troy gets asked to the spring formal" one. I really enjoyed this whole poetry book though. I genuinely believe it did what it wanted to do really well.
The Orange and other poems by Wendy Cope--- I first picked this up at the bookstore because @true-bluesargent had it in one of her monthly reading posts. I am so freaking glad I did. I love this. My only complaint is that it is so short. This book has one of the best builds of any poetry book that I've read recently. I did not think it would get to the point it did when I started it. I loved it so so so much. I especially loved all the rhyming schemes and things.
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater--- This was obviously a reread. I think I loved it even more this time around. I'm reading it with my mom out loud. She's loving it, and it's her first time ever reading it. She somehow forgot most of what I told her last summer, so I am happy. I literally love everything about this book.
Dear Wendy by Ann Zhao--- Another reread. This book makes me so damn happy. I read it due to a crisis that I was having similar to Jo's whole "everyone will leave me for their romantic partner someday" thing, so reading it helped! I want to make all my friends read this book, and I am going to attempt to.
The Dragon Republic by R.F. Kuang--- I finished on the last day of May after reading it for over a month. A masterpiece. These books are so good. I don't know what to think about so many aspects of this world. It's all so complicated in a really real way. I would talk about this book with anyone. I'm sad because I'm not going to read the next book right away because of new releases. I am also excited about new releases!!!!!
Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri--- My last assigned reading book for my English class this year! It was an assigned reading book of the variety of I'm so glad that I was forced to read this book. I loved it SO much! It's a collection of short stores which isn't usually my thing, but they all went together so well. The central themes of loneliness and reaching for connection interwoven with parts of the author's own culture. I LOVED IT.

ROBERT REICH
MAR 6
Friends,
I remain optimistic about the longer term, but I still awaken each morning with a sense of dread. I’m sure some of you do, too.
Start with Elon Musk’s bonkers comment that Social Security is “the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time.”
In a Ponzi scheme, a con artist lures investors into a fake investment project, pockets the cash, and then gets new “investors” to funnel their cash to the earlier investors — until there are no new recruits and the whole thing collapses. The last ones in are suckers left holding worthless bags.
Social Security is not a Ponzi scheme. It’s a high-functioning, universal, and exceptionally efficient part of the American social safety net — the opposite of a Ponzi scheme. Which is why the overwhelming majority of Americans oppose cutting it.
Social Security is a simple “pay as you go” program. Current workers, via the payroll tax, fund payouts for retirees and disabled people. In 2024, about 1 in 5 U.S. residents received Social Security.
I used to be a trustee of the Social Security trust fund. I know what I’m talking about.
As the Social Security Administration explains, “In 2025, when you work, about 85 cents of every Social Security tax dollar you pay goes to a trust fund. This fund pays monthly benefits to current retirees and their families and to surviving spouses and children of workers who have died. About 15 cents goes to a trust fund that pays benefits to people with disabilities and their families.”
The only reason that the Social Security trust fund is slowly running out of money is the trustees never anticipated that so much of the nation’s total income would be in the hands of so few people (such as Elon Musk).
The simple way to fix this is to lift the cap on income subject to Social Security payroll taxes, which is now $176,100.
Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg fulfilled their 2025 Social Security payroll tax obligations a few minutes past midnight on January 1. Most Americans continue paying payroll taxes all year.
If you want to see a real Ponzi scheme, look no further than the crypto investments Musk and Trump have hyped.
Trump’s new cryptocurrency, “$Trump,” soared and then crashed, just like every other Ponzi scheme. It generated enormous profits for insiders like Trump, but a cumulative $2 billion in losses for more than 800,000 other investors.
Trump claims ignorance. “I don’t know if it benefited” me, he said. “I don’t know much about it.” (The Trump family and its business partners earned nearly $100 million in trading fees alone on the coin.)
Musk has been promoting “dogecoin” since 2019. In the days following Trump’s announcement of the launch of Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the value of dogecoin soared over 70 percent. Since then, it’s dropped like a rock. Another classic Ponzi scheme.
With Trump now in office, crypto is back to its Ponzi ways. It’s emerging from a four-year federal crackdown on crypto fraud, market manipulation, and other scams following the collapse of Sam Bankman-Fried’s crypto exchange FTX in 2022 — one of the biggest Ponzi schemes in recent memory.
Tomorrow, Trump is even holding a “crypto summit” at which he’ll promote the idea of a federal crypto reserve that will give crypto schemes a temporary boost by increasing demand for them.
But why should American taxpayers foot the bill for a crypto reserve? The most obvious winner will be Trump, whose own crypto venture carries millions of dollars in tokens that are to be included in the reserve.
Other winners will be crypto executives, many of whom donated extensively to Trump’s reelection effort. One example: Ripple, whose XRP token is one of the five that Trump said would be included in the reserve — and which donated $45 million to an industrywide PAC that sought to help elect Trump and other Republicans.
Trump’s crypto efforts are ways to curry his favor by paying him off.
Consider Justin Sun, a Chinese cryptocurrency entrepreneur whom the Securities and Exchange Commission charged with securities fraud in March 2023.
After Trump was elected in 2024, Sun bought $30 million worth of Trump’s World Liberty Financial crypto tokens, putting $18 million directly into Trump’s pockets. Since then, Sun has invested another $45 million in WLF. Altogether, Sun’s investments have netted Trump more than $50 million.
Trump’s Securities and Exchange Commission just dropped its prosecution of Sun.
The SEC also dropped its case against the crypto trading platform Coinbase after the platform donated $75 million to a political action committee associated with Trump and $1 million to Trump’s inauguration.
To top it off, the SEC just ruled that “memecoins” aren’t securities, meaning that Trump’s novelty crypto tokens won’t be subject to any regulatory oversight. An open invitation to more Trump Ponzi schemes.
My real dread has to do with the much bigger Ponzi scheme that Trump and Musk are peddling.
They’re promising huge “savings” from destroying the federal government — including programs like Social Security and Medicaid — savings that will go to America’s wealthy and big corporations in the form of tax cuts.
At Musk’s urging, the Social Security Administration recently announced it will consolidate the current 10 regional offices it maintains into four and cut at least 7,000 jobs from an agency already at a 50-year staffing low.
The Republican budget recently pushed through the House cuts over $880 billion out of Medicaid.
Who will get left holding the bag? Most Americans.
Zoom out and you’ll see the biggest Ponzi scheme of them all — the entire Trump 2 regime.
Trump is promising to “make America great again” by raising tariffs, deporting more than 11 million people, taking a wrecking ball to the federal government, pulverizing democracy, and joining Putin and other global dictators.
Trump is the con artist behind this giant Ponzi scheme. He lured voters into this fake MAGA project, pocketed some of the cash and rewarded his billionaire backers and friends (including Musk) with more, and will leave most Americans with a corrupt and decimated society.
I’m still optimistic about our power to overcome this and our resilience in bouncing back from it. But the dread I feel when I open my eyes in the morning concerns the sheer magnitude of the largest and most cynical Ponzi scheme in history.

monthly media recap: may 2025
read:
The Tower of the Swallow by Andrzej Sapkowski - the timeline jumps made it challenging to follow at times, but also all the more interesting, like putting a puzzle together. I am very fond of Angoulême.
The Lady of the Lake by Andrzej Sapkowski - wrote a long post about it and the whole series here!
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas - technically a reread but it must be ~15 years since I read it and I had forgotten most of it, so it was like reading it for the first time. Couldn't put it down <3 Also, Eugénie is even more textually a lesbian than I expected, wow.
The Mark of Watzel by Tomo Taketomi - hm. Couldn't help rolling my eyes at the, how do I call it, the true solution to the treatment? But in general it's cute.
watched:
Sinners (2025) - there was a scene - and not a short one - which I watched from the beginning to the end with my jaw dropped because it was just so awesome. Overall an incredible movie, go see it.
Cowboy Bebop (1998-1999) - oh man, that was good. The animation, the soundtrack, the noir of it all, the lovable cast. The ending destroyed me. You're gonna carry that weight indeed.
Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door (2001) - it was a good idea to watch it after finishing the series and not when it fits into the timeline because it was nice to see the crew together again, you know? Also, good use of action movie tropes, let's fight on the Eiffel Tower (on Mars)
Coyote Ugly (2000) - I wanted something lighthearted and with a lot of music, and this fulfilled the need. Very naïve but a lot of fun (perhaps precisely because it's very naïve).
The Phoenician Scheme (2025) - I had a free movie ticket so I went to see this. Nothing to write home about in terms of the story, but pretty to look at on the big screen, and I laughed sometimes. My main takeaway is that it's a pity there's no ASOUE adaptation by Anderson.

AI in Frontend Development: How Artificial Intelligence Is Transforming UI/UX in 2025 and Beyond
Tumblr media
Frontend development is no longer just about staying updated with the latest JavaScript framework or mastering slick animations. The real shift? It’s AI in frontend development a transformation that’s reshaping how we design, build, and optimize digital interfaces.
From wireframing to code generation, what once took hours now takes minutes, thanks to artificial intelligence. Whether you’re focused on UI design, UX optimization, or code implementation, AI is becoming a powerful design partner. Let’s dive into how AI is revolutionizing frontend workflows, tools, and user experiences in 2025.
What Is AI in Frontend Development?
AI in frontend development refers to the use of artificial intelligence to simplify, automate, or enhance the tasks involved in creating user interfaces. It can assist with:
Generating responsive layouts
Writing component code
Improving accessibility
Predicting user behavior
This doesn’t mean developers and designers are being replaced. Instead, AI enhances human creativity, handling the repetitive parts and enabling teams to focus on strategy, storytelling, and innovation.
Best AI Tools for UI/UX Designers Today
There’s a growing wave of intelligent tools designed specifically for UI/UX professionals. These tools help teams build faster and smarter.
Figma AI
Figma now offers built-in AI tools that assist with layout tweaks, accessibility insights, auto-labeling images, and content suggestions — right inside your workflow.
Framer AI
With Framer AI, just describe your layout in plain English (e.g., “Create a SaaS homepage with pricing and testimonials”), and it delivers a fully responsive, ready-to-go design.
Uizard & Galileo
Uizard turns text prompts or sketches into wireframes. Galileo takes it further, generating pixel-perfect UI based on your descriptions — speeding up the designer-to-developer handoff.
These AI UI design tools don’t just boost efficiency, they unlock a new level of creative freedom.
How Do Frontend Developers Use AI in Real Workflows?
For developers, AI is becoming a game changer, especially in simplifying repetitive and structural frontend tasks.
Generative UI
Generative UI enables devs to create layouts or UI components simply by describing them. AI generates the code, whether it’s for dashboards, landing pages, or product grids.
Frontend Design Automation
Today’s smart tools can handle:
Responsive grid systems
Color scheme suggestions
HTML structure from wireframes
CSS and Tailwind class generation
By automating these tasks, developers gain more time to work on logic, experience design, and performance tuning.
How Does AI Improve Accessibility in Frontend Design?
AI for accessibility is one of the most valuable applications in frontend development. It helps teams build interfaces that are inclusive and compliant from the start.
Key features AI supports include:
Contrast checking to catch poor color pairings
Alt text generation for images using context recognition
Keyboard navigation validation to ensure mouse-free usability
Tools like Stark AI for Figma and smart IDE plugins are already making accessibility easier and more accurate.
AI in UI/UX design isn’t just convenient, it’s a step toward a more inclusive digital world.
Using Prompts for AI-Generated UI Design
Prompt-based UI design is rapidly emerging as a go-to method for fast prototyping.
You provide a natural language prompt, and the AI handles the layout or code creation. For example:
“Create a login screen with email, password, and forgot password link.”
“Design a 3-column product grid with hover animations.”
“Build a pricing section with a toggle for monthly/yearly plans.”
By learning basic prompt engineering, designers and devs can go from idea to prototype in minutes.
Top AI UX Design Trends You Should Know
AI UX design trends are evolving fast, and they’re making digital experiences more personal, intuitive, and engaging.
1. Predictive Interfaces
AI anticipates what users need based on behaviour and context, adapting layouts and navigation dynamically.
2. Hyper-Personalization
User interfaces now adjust in real-time — think personalized colour schemes, font sizes, or feature prioritization.
3. Conversational Interfaces
Chatbot-style UIs and voice interactions are on the rise, making apps feel more human and responsive.
These AI-driven experiences go beyond aesthetics, they enhance usability and engagement like never before.
Will AI Replace UI/UX Designers or Developers?
It’s a valid concern, but here’s the truth: AI won’t replace designers or developers.
Why? Because AI lacks what makes us human:
Creativity
Emotional intelligence
Contextual understanding
Brand intuition
What AI does is eliminate the tedious stuff , letting you spend more time on ideation, testing, and crafting user experiences that actually matter.
Real-Life Example: Building a Website with Framer AI
Let’s say you need a personal portfolio website. Here’s how AI makes that easier:
Prompt: “Build a personal portfolio with a hero section, about me, project cards, and a contact form.”
Output: Framer AI instantly generates a layout with sections, styling, and sample content.
You Customize: Update fonts, images, and animations — all in under 30 minutes.
What used to take days can now happen before your next coffee break.
What’s Next for AI in UI/UX and Frontend Design?
AI isn’t slowing down. Here are some exciting areas to keep your eyes on:
Voice-to-UI: Speak your interface, and watch it build itself in real time
AI-assisted A/B testing: Interfaces adjust based on live performance metrics
Ethical design checks: AI flags dark UX patterns or manipulative flows
Live AI collaboration: Smart assistants suggest edits during real-time teamwork
The goal is no longer speed alone. It’s better outcomes for both users and creators.

Final Thoughts: AI Is Your New Design Partner
Embracing AI in frontend development doesn’t mean giving up control. It means gaining a creative partner who amplifies your ideas and accelerates delivery.
From prompt-based UI design to AI for accessibility, the tools we use are getting smarter, and so are we. Whether you’re a designer, developer, or somewhere in between, AI helps you work faster, smarter, and more creatively.
So the next time you launch Figma, VS Code, or Framer, don’t just ask “What can I build?”
Ask: “What can AI help me build better?”
AI in Frontend Development- FAQs
What are the best AI UI design tools right now?
Top tools include Figma AI, Framer AI, Uizard, Galileo, and Penpot AI. They offer features like auto-layouts, design suggestions, and real-time code generation.
How does AI support accessibility in frontend development?
AI tools can check contrast issues, generate alt text for images, suggest ARIA labels, and flag usability problems for keyboard navigation.
Can frontend developers rely on AI for code?
Yes, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and others can generate UI components, write CSS, and assist with layout logic. But human review is still essential.
What is generative UI?
Generative UI involves creating components or layouts using AI-generated code from prompts, reducing manual work and enabling rapid prototyping.
Will AI replace UI/UX designers?
Not at all. AI helps streamline repetitive tasks, but creativity, strategy, and empathy are still human superpowers.

Why Chandigarh Investors Are Choosing Mutual Funds Over FDs in 2025
Tumblr media
In 2025, Chandigarh investors are favoring mutual funds over fixed deposits (FDs) due to higher potential returns, better inflation-adjusted growth, flexibility, and systematic investment options like SIPs. As financial literacy grows, so does the shift toward diversified, professionally managed investments.
🧭 Introduction: The Investment Shift in Chandigarh
Chandigarh’s investors are evolving. With rising inflation, financial awareness, and smarter options available online, more people are now choosing mutual fund investments over traditional fixed deposits (FDs). While FDs offer capital safety, mutual funds bring higher long-term growth, flexibility, and tax efficiency — making them the go-to investment for Chandigarh's salaried professionals, families, and retirees.
📈 Why Mutual Funds Are Outshining FDs in 2025
1. Higher Returns Than Fixed Deposits
Mutual funds offer average returns between 10–15% annually in the long term, depending on the scheme.
FDs, even high-interest ones in Chandigarh, max out at 6–7%, often below the inflation rate.
2. Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs)
SIPs allow monthly auto-investments, starting from ₹500.
Perfect for salaried professionals looking to build wealth without timing the market.
3. Tax Efficiency
Mutual funds enjoy capital gains tax benefits, especially for long-term holdings.
FDs are taxed annually as per income slab — less favorable for high earners.
4. Liquidity and Flexibility
Most mutual funds allow partial withdrawals without penalties.
FDs often lock your funds for a fixed term with premature withdrawal charges.
5. Professional Fund Management
Chandigarh investors benefit from SEBI-registered advisors who help pick the best mutual fund schemes.
Mutual funds are regulated, diversified, and managed by certified experts.
🏆 Top 5 Qualities of the Best Fixed Deposit Consultant in Chandigarh
If you're still considering FDs, finding the right advisor is key. Here’s what to look for:
1. SEBI Registration & Certification
Ensures compliance and trustworthiness.
2. Tailored Financial Planning
Look for consultants who assess your income, risk appetite, and goals.
3. Transparent Charges & Payout Structure
Avoid hidden fees or commission-based advice.
4. Multi-Product Knowledge
The best advisors offer both FD and mutual fund investment services in Chandigarh for better comparison.
5. Client Testimonials & Local Expertise
Real reviews and Chandigarh-specific experience are a plus.
💼 Best Investment Options in Chandigarh for 2025
Investing ₹15,000 monthly for a year totals ₹1,80,000—a smart financial habit that can significantly grow your wealth over time. Whether you choose mutual funds, SIPs, or fixed deposits, consistent investments create financial discipline and offer compounding benefits. This approach is especially ideal for salaried professionals aiming for long-term goals like homeownership, retirement planning, or child education.
🧠 Real-Life Example: SIP vs FD in Chandigarh
Ravi Sharma, a 35-year-old professional in Sector 22, started a ₹5,000 monthly SIP in 2020. By 2025, his investment grew to ₹4.1 lakh. His friend Ramesh put the same amount into a 5-year FD and ended with ₹3.5 lakh. Mutual fund investment clearly offered superior growth and liquidity.
❓ FAQs: Mutual Funds vs FDs in Chandigarh
✅ Are mutual funds safe for first-time investors in Chandigarh?
Yes. SIPs in debt or balanced mutual funds are low-risk and ideal for beginners.
✅ Can I invest in mutual funds online from Chandigarh?
Absolutely. Use online mutual fund services in Chandigarh offices like Coinage for hassle-free setup.
✅ What’s the minimum amount to start a SIP?
You can start with as low as ₹500/month in most mutual fund schemes.
✅ Who is the Best Fixed Deposit Consultant in Chandigarh?
Choose consultants with SEBI registration, local experience, and a portfolio that includes both FDs and mutual funds for unbiased advice.
🔍 Final Thoughts
As 2025 unfolds, more Chandigarh investors are moving away from FDs toward mutual fund investments. With higher returns, tax benefits, and SIP flexibility, mutual funds align with modern financial goals. But remember — consulting a certified advisor ensures your portfolio stays balanced, secure, and growth-driven.

With few seats available in 2025–26, TRAC invites early application and payment.
Last Thoughts for Parents
Clear Structure: Monthly and yearly fees are well delineated by grade, with early payment bonuses.
Cost Planning: Consider beyond tuition, including transport, uniforms, exams, extra-curriculars, and meals.
Flexible Payments: Various payment alternatives with family-convenient flexibility.
Strong Policies: Organized late-fee practices, suspension rights, and an equitable refund system.
In Summary
Royal Academy Ajman provides great value—mixing CBSE-aligned curriculum, state-of-the-art facilities, and early payment discounts—all at competitive prices. Being aware of tuition, add-ons, and penalty policies assists families with budget planning and making informed decisions.
Need information on transport costs, examination fees, or a total cost breakdown per grade? I can obtain more details or help with TRAC's prospectus.

BMC Property Tax Due Dates, Penalties & Waivers for 2025
If you own a property in Mumbai, staying informed about BMC property tax regulations is essential. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) levies this tax annually on all residential and commercial properties in the city. Understanding the due dates, potential penalties, and applicable waivers for 2025 can help you avoid unnecessary charges and manage your payments smoothly.
Due Dates for BMC Property Tax in 2025
The BMC property tax for the financial year 2025-26 is typically billed in two halves—April and October. The first installment is due by March 31, 2025, and the second by September 30, 2025. However, property owners are encouraged to pay the full amount by the first due date to avail of early payment benefits, if any are announced.
Timely payment is crucial, as it helps avoid penalties and ensures your property records remain in good standing with the BMC. Property tax bills are usually available online through the BMC’s official portal, allowing residents to pay digitally and download receipts instantly.
Penalties for Late Payment
Missing the BMC property tax due date can result in a 2% monthly penalty on the outstanding amount. This interest continues to accrue until the dues are cleared. Consistent delays may also lead to legal notices, property sealing, or even auction in extreme cases. Therefore, it’s advisable to mark the dates and set reminders to avoid late fees.
Waivers and Rebates
The BMC often announces waivers or rebates to promote timely tax compliance. For 2025, while official announcements are awaited, previous trends suggest the possibility of:
Early bird rebates of up to 5-10% for full payments made before the first due date.
Senior citizen and physically disabled exemptions for eligible property owners.
Concessions for eco-friendly buildings or properties below a certain valuation threshold.
Residents should regularly check the BMC website or visit the nearest ward office for updates on any such waivers or schemes.
Final Thoughts
Paying your BMC property tax on time helps fund vital civic services like sanitation, road maintenance, and waste management. By staying aware of due dates, understanding penalties, and leveraging applicable waivers, Mumbai property owners can contribute responsibly while saving money. Set calendar alerts, pay online, and stay updated to keep your records clean in 2025.

One District, One Dream: District-Level Champions of Change
“When one district rises with purpose, a thousand villages follow with pride.”
— Rajesh Shukla, Chief Strategist, Inspire India Now
The Need for District-Driven Transformation
India’s development models have often leaned heavily on central schemes or state-level blueprints, with the district playing a passive role in execution. Yet the district is where policy meets people, strategy meets soil, and vision meets reality.
With this insight, Inspire India Now, under the strategic leadership of Rajesh Shukla, launched the “One District, One Dream” initiative—a powerful campaign that transforms each district into a laboratory of innovation, hub of inclusion, and engine of empowerment.
This isn’t just decentralization—it’s localized leadership with national impact.
The Core Philosophy: Identity + Intent + Impact
Each of India’s 750+ districts has:
A unique demographic DNA
A rich cultural ethos
Distinct challenges and strengths
Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, Inspire India’s approach is to help each district identify one unifying developmental mission—its “Dream”—and rally all stakeholders behind it.

Impact Dashboard A live digital tracker showcasing monthly progress in key metrics, visible in panchayat offices, schools, and online platforms.
The Power of Local Champions
At the heart of this movement are district-level champions—teachers, nurses, SHG women, forest guards, panchayat heads—who are no longer implementers, but co-authors of change.
“My job was to monitor attendance. Now I mentor girl coders in my village.” — Sarla Devi, Cluster Officer, Chitrakoot
“I always knew our mud toys were special. Inspire India made the world see them too.” — Munnu Lal, Artisan, Varanasi
Early Results (2023–2025)

12,000+ micro-projects activated via district incubators
600+ youth fellows placed in rural schools, health centers, and panchayats
30+ traditional art forms revived with export potential
10,000+ women entrepreneurs trained through local Dream Hubs
Rajesh Shukla’s Strategic Perspective
According to Rajesh Shukla, districts must not wait for change—they must lead it.
“When every district dreams differently, the nation grows collectively. The future of India is not Delhi-centric. It’s decentralized, dignified, and district-driven.”
This model is his answer to the “middle-mile crisis”—the governance vacuum between state power and grassroots reality. His vision transforms that middle into a mission zone.
Conclusion: From District Identity to National Glory
The “One District, One Dream” movement by Inspire India Now shows that transformation is not about grand national schemes alone. It is about igniting aspiration where it matters most—at the district level, where every Indian first learns to belong, contribute, and lead.
In the India that Rajesh Shukla envisions, every district becomes a flag of pride, every citizen a champion of purpose, and every dream—a catalyst for national awakening.
29) Social Capital as Currency: Rebuilding Trust in Rural Institutions
"Where trust is rebuilt, progress follows. Social capital is the true wealth of Bharat."
— Rajesh Shukla, Chief Strategist, Inspire India Now
Why Social Capital Matters More Than Ever
In rural India, infrastructure can be built quickly, but rebuilding trust in institutions—schools, panchayats, banks, healthcare systems—requires something deeper: social capital. This intangible asset—mutual respect, cooperation, shared identity, and accountability—has been eroded over decades by corruption, neglect, and exclusion.
Inspire India Now, under the strategic leadership of Rajesh Shukla, views social capital not as a soft value, but as a hard currency—essential for governance, service delivery, and sustainable development.
The Crisis of Trust in Rural Bharat
Despite government schemes, rural communities often distrust:
Local institutions due to inefficiency or bias
Elected representatives due to unfulfilled promises
External NGOs and officials who come and go
Banks and cooperatives seen as exploitative or distant
This trust deficit leads to non-participation, policy resistance, and a culture of dependency, making meaningful transformation impossible.
Inspire India’s Trust-Building Blueprint
To restore rural faith in institutions, Inspire India Now leverages social capital as an operational tool. The approach is not only top-down, but inside-out and bottom-up, centered on community trust networks.
1. Swaraj Circles
Facilitated dialogues involving elders, youth, women, SHGs, teachers, and elected reps. These monthly gatherings discuss issues openly and make collective decisions. ✔ Brings transparency ✔ Creates shared ownership ✔ Reinstates dignity in dialogue
“People must see democracy, not just vote in it.”
2. Trust Scorecards
Community members publicly rate institutions like health centers, banks, and schools. This generates:
Real-time accountability
Citizen feedback loops
Healthy competition between service providers
“When people are heard, they engage. When they engage, trust grows.”
3. Local Integrity Pacts
Inspire India mobilizes community-signed charters pledging:
Honest use of public funds
Time-bound service delivery
Regular social audits
These charters are painted on village walls—visible, binding, and proud.
4. Returning Heroes Program
Local youth who succeed in cities are invited back as mentors, volunteers, and advisors. Their return:
Inspires credibility
Bridges old and new knowledge
Creates aspirational trust anchors
“When your own becomes your guide, belief returns.”
5. Public Gratitude Rituals
Inspired by cultural traditions, villagers now honor honest teachers, ASHA workers, and sarpanchs in ceremonies. This shifts the narrative:
From blame to recognition
From cynicism to celebration
🎉 “Celebrating honesty is the first step to normalizing it.”
 Impact Snapshot (2023–2025)
210+ villages practicing monthly Swaraj Circles
1,000+ institutions publicly rated via trust scorecards
3,500+ youth returned as village mentors
78% increase in rural grievance resolution rates
30% rise in voter turnout in Gram Sabha elections
Rajesh Shukla’s Insight: Development is a Relationship
Rajesh Shukla firmly believes trust is the foundation of sustainable development. He argues:
"You cannot build a nation on skepticism. If people don’t believe in their local school, bank, or leader, then no scheme will ever succeed. Rebuilding social capital is not a task—it is a mission.”
For him, policy must be personified—with real people, trusted neighbors, and shared responsibility.
Conclusion: A New Economy of Trust
By treating social capital as currency, Inspire India Now is building a rural renaissance powered not only by finance or infrastructure—but by faith, relationships, and community leadership.
This model redefines development not as the delivery of services, but as the cultivation of shared trust. When institutions work with people, not just for them, the journey from dependency to dignity begins.

Whether you’re launching a new venture or growing an existing one, cash flow can make or break your success. You might have the best products or services, but without steady working capital, daily operations can come to a halt.
