Smell Check [Easy: Failure]
MDZS Disco Elysium AU part 1 (part 2 - part 3)
#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#wei wuxian#lan wangji#disco elysium#MDZS Disco Elysium AU#So sad I didn't manage to get this comic out on the 15th (pd-mdzs's 8 month anniversary and DE's 4th year anniversary) but I'm here *now*#I have a very extensive and detailed MDZS Disco Elysium AU that I am Not Normal About.#I've seen a few other people point out the potential in a crossover (true) but they make the mistake in having it be set in 51!#A true crossover would take place closer to The Antecentennial Revolution!#Disco Elysium did not go that hard on its cool lore for people to only make surface level crossovers!!!#One day I'll write the fic or post my notes. I don't know who would read it but it tickles *my* brain and that's enough.#No spoilers for DE (here or in comments (please)) but please consider....Magpie Wei Wuxian B*) On his way to be an innocent.#I do think there is a good chance a chunk of the MDZS readership would enjoy DE but...it's also not a game I easily recommend#It's more of an experience you have to marinate over. It's dark in ways that are off putting to some people.#It makes you feel like a very bad person all the time. It gets extremely personal if you allow yourself to be honest in your answers#and it's also the game that saved my life. My life was truly forever changed after playing disco elysium.#If I recommend it to people it's a badge of the trust I have in you to appreciate something dear to me B'*)#If you decide to play: PLEASE go in as blind as possible. You will regret spoiling yourself.#edit: this is based on real disco elysium dialogue. HDB has many canon kinks but this is not one of them

I might be poking at a bear here but I kinda really dislike the "all or nothing" attitude the WoF fandom has. This character is evil the worst piece of garbage imaginable or is secretly a great character and you're just a fool for thinking otherwise. It's ridiculous at times
Like I recall the stuff with Secretkeeper a while back. Now, call me crazy, but I don't think she's some horrifically abusive and neglectful parent. She did the best that she could. Was it great? No, but she was trying to keep her daughter safe in a hostile world that she was terrified would reject or, worse, hunt her. Her leaving Moon alone for days was bad, yes, but she wanted to keep Moon free from the horrors of the volcano. She loved Moon and clearly took care of her a lot. You can't just look at a character and paint them as being a "horrible abusive POS" for something that, let's be real here, is much more forgivable and understandable than anything Coral, Scarlet, Diamond, Cobra, Jerboa, or Kestrel did

i went into dungeon meshi thinking it was about sapphic monsters and elves but came out of it obsessed with Senshi.
also i love Laois and i think if he could eat his freinds without harming them he probably would and that cool, we could always use more cannibals

cant believe ppl spread bottom max agenda just like that... in our time *checks the notes* in 1878s when we wrote bottom Max, we would be seen as witches, judged heavily, whipped in the villages center in front of everyone and burned to death with prayers upon us 😔

Trans male has risqué bulge/outline when wearing women’s jeans and shorts, refuses to tuck or even just wear decent fitted clothing

The partner being trans doesn’t even have anything to do with the fact that it’s standard decency for males to keep their crotches under control in public, and that includes not wearing things that draw attention to (or perfectly outline) their dicks. Genitals are expected to be safely out sight behind clothing. Men’s clothing is made to accommodate a package down there and blend it in, whereas women’s clothes expect only the slightest curve to the crotch, if any, and therefore dicks have nowhere to hide.
I sincerely believe these commenters are a) too blinded by the partners’ gender id to apply their logic to any other non-trans-woman, and b) underestimating just how obvious the bulge must be and how often it happens, probably.
Also, I really doubt the partner’s statement that he “doesn’t notice” AND is “not bothered.” He has to have noticed at least a couple times if he wears women’s jeans and shorts semi-regularly, and if he isn’t self conscious about that it makes me wonder how it does make him feel to have people acknowledge his crotch in that way…

augh who up feeling like they should be humanely euthanised for liking media the wrong way... sorry for fandomising certain characters but not fandomising others enough in the right way.
#ive noticed the wbg fandom has a very different way of interacting w the source media than like. dndads#both are similar in some of the fandomising of characters#specifically like funny characterisation stuff#but when it comes to more complex stuff like angst it feels like the wbg fandom approaches from a different layer#eg in dndads just a characters death is seen is sad but for wbg a lot of the time theres more to it...#an extra layer. a more complex flavour. the horrors are not just those experienced but the entire surrounding situation.#like edgars death isnt sad#i mean. its not sad in the way that referencing it in art will get any attention#but TJ's death is devastating!#with notable exceptions of course. eg innocent hunter and like everything about him#i find that i tend to approach media more stylistically and appreciating the DRAMA which i can mine for visuals#and then in my art i try to challenge myself to translate those vibes#like picking at a thread that is already present. an angst or dynamic already present and explored briefly#but wbg fandom tends to lean more towards analysis? which makes the way i engage feel a bit surface level#like in wbg fandom i dont think i can do the eqiuvalent of all my angsty glenn close art#also i just noticed. the characters in wbg are really interesting because you THINK they#wouldn't be very fandomised. that theyd be treated within the show as more like characters that exist to push the plot forward#but then certain characters act as very fandomised versions of themselves in canon#and are treated as their one trait in the qnas too!!#its like theyre almost dndads characters in this way. but without even that extra layer#the second heat that even like henry oak has! like henry's a hippie but he's also stinky and cringe and is repressing so much shit#but marissa is just explosions girl#i guess that's maybe cuz many characters in wbg arent main characters but in dndads they all are#BUT EVEN NPC HERMIE. HIS LAYERS.#very interesting

what icon? ask meme. (👀 for my most creepy looking icon of my muse)
Tumblr media
There's a few creepy icons in his folder but few are creepier than this, Copperhead squeezing his body through a small vent that leads down into a dark basement. The icon doesn't do the scene justice; it is tight down there but the sound effects that play, Copperhead cortorting his spine so that he can get down there is honestly a bit of a chilling scene and one I love because of how he operates.

I've been seeing lots of takes lately with people feeling hatred towards part 2 Speedwagon for being a greedy capitalist who probably exploited people and done some shady stuff to become wealthy because there was '''no way he could have become rich just from oil money'''... thoughts?
it's so disappointing to see some bad takes about the Speedwagon Foundation being some "acshually nasty organization" and about Speedwagon supposedly becoming some heartless rich man popping up again. And like, I shouldn't even be surprised at this point considering how the average "Jojo fan" mistreats Part 1 and 2 and alllll the misinformation they love to spread about them and about some characters in particular, often bastardizing them into wildly out of character versions and pretending those fanons are canon for whatever reason (being Speedwagon one of the characters that gets bastardized like that the most), sometimes just to make Blorbo Of Their Choice look better by throwing every other character under the bus, sometimes just because people can't be bothered to pay attention to the og if there are no punching ghosts on sight (and even then, Jojo parts featuring stands get misinterpreted a lot too).
This is gonna be long, so let me start by saying that if y'all really believe that Speedwagon somehow became some nasty ass rich man, then you're completely misinformed and you (and I say "you" in general and not specifically you anon) might benefit from rereading/rewatching the source material and actually paying attention to the plot and details this time.
Like, I've seen people assuming that the Foundation only researched the stone mask and eventually stand stuff, and completely forgetting that one of the literal main goals and also one of the biggest things the Foundation does is seeking for the betterment of the planet as a whole (preserving nature, wildlife, etc) as well as for the betterment of medicine and health care, actually seeking for the best for all humankind, this in addition to all the secret branches it has for the research of supernatural phenomena like stands, stone masks, pillar men, and so on in order to prevent as many incidents with them as possible and prevent the loss of as innocent lives as possible.
Sure, the people working for those latter branches might get into deep trouble sometimes whenever some jerk with a stone mask or a stand starts some shit, but, another thing jojo fans tend to conveniently forget is that those employees are working for the secret/non-public branches of the Foundation. We as audience know about them because we are let into seeing them working as part of the narrative, however, the public in general within the story DO NOT KNOW about the existence of those branches or what they do. Pillar men, stone masks, stands and the research around them are kept in secret in order to prevent any sorts of chaos and ensuing panic, among other safety reasons.
The people working for those branches are specialized or at least have some prior knowledge on those fields they work in (you'd think it is a MUST considering they are being let in on sensitive information that could be super detrimental for the planet and for humankind if it fell in the wrong hands), meaning that those employees already know and are fully aware of the kind of stuff they're going to deal with there from the start. They weren't deceived into it, and the fact that the employees remain loyal to Speedwagon from start to end and respect and follow his will, even long after his death, denotes that there was some deep and mutual respect and appreciation there, something you can't earn through exploitation, and definitely something these people wouldn't have done had Speedwagon been the heartless tyrant rich old man some people with a lack of media literacy want to believe and make others believe he was.
If people paid just a wee bit more attention to earlier Jojo parts, they would have realized it was all spelled out from the beginning too! Speedwagon expressly states from the very start his disgust and hatred towards the rich, being the Joestars the only exception to that due to them being genuinely kind persons, unlike most other wealthy people out there. He was also implied to have been dirt poor for most of his life and was also stated to have lived in the slums at least up to PB's main timeline. There were never any indications or signs that showed that he ever betrayed those roots of his by siding with the rich against the poor over the years. Instead, he's been using his funds to make the whole world a better place for everyone, not only by improving health care and access for all people as well as the environment (which would actually show a sense of duty from him as he is counteracting whatever negative impact his oil company may have had on the planet), but also providing all the aid he can against supernatural threats.
And not just that, but he's also kept some of his connections with the crime world over the years. However, rather than using those connections for selfish goals, he makes use of them to workaround the system in cases like Lisa Lisa's, where he used all those influences he had to help her go successfully into hiding after killing the zombie that murdered George (an undercover zombie that was actually a higher up within the army and who everyone believed to be a regular human, hence their chasing after her to make her pay for that "crime" she had supposedly committed). Additionally, if you know anything about big companies and organizations, you'll know that the law is also not always there to protect regular people, and sometimes, it will cater to the more profitable goals, as well as some businessmen actively being shady af and "hindering" their rivals for their own benefit. The Speedwagon Foundation being an organization that vouches and actively works for the wellbeing of people would have probably ruffled countless feathers among those who seek for a personal gain, to say the least (think of the hijackers that tried to kidnap him, as shown in the flashback in BT, i.e). This is also where those connections he keeps with criminals come into play, as there are never any mentions about Speedwagon doing shady stuff through them nor using them to pursue some personal goal, which hints at the fact that he keeps and uses those nexus as means of protection against actual enemies. Defense rather than offense, if you will.
Also, lets not forget that Speedwagon found his reason to change his ways when he met Jonathan, and that a lot of the things the Foundation does are things Jonathan himself would have gone into had he not passed away (the archaeological research, the deep studying of the stone mask -which eventually led to the discovery of the pillar men just in time before their awakening-, all in order to prevent more incidents like the whole thing with Dio from happening, and so on). It's downright silly to think Speedwagon would even think of betraying Jonathan and his memory by using not only the second chance he received from Jojo himself, but also using the literal monument Speedwagon built to honor the deep bond and mutual affection the two had back when Jonathan was alive for some selfish goal.
And also, lets not forget how disgusted he was with Dio and every single vile thing he did to everyone. Do you really think he would want to follow a path similar to his, in which people are just another step for him to walk all over?? If so, then you sure are completely wrong about who Speedwagon really is like.
Those "he became some nasty capitalist lol", pretending that Spw became some heartless and selfish wealthy man along the way for no reason, all despite the heaps of constant evidence the canon has presented, even long after Speedwagon's passing away in the story, that shows that that was never the case only go to show that people are lazy and that paying attention to the story and the details in it is just something some Jojo fans will actively refuse to do and then will make the worst bullshit takes up about it.
Also?? People do realize that it's possible to become rich and not be some piece of shit?? Like, sure, I do agree that most wealthy people irl ARE shit and scummy af, but there will always be a few exceptions, you just don't always see them because the real kind ones don't go around telling everyone about every single kind act they do, they just put their money to good use to make their own employees lives better, or invest/donate money every chance they get to some organization of their trust and so on. Adding to this, do you all even realize people can't just throw money out of the window and that as a business person you always need to keep some capital to actually make your business thrive and so you can continue helping other people out in this case where BIG SUMS of money are being put to use in favor of actual civilians and people from all walks of life??
((Edit to add yet another Very Obvious display that Speedwagon never sided with the rich, not even in his older years: Smokey Brown! The kid is literally a mirror of Speedwagon’s own younger self in that both were criminals from the streets in a large city (London in Spw’s case, NY in Smokey’s), immersed in crime and poverty and most likely having to resort to crime as a mean to survive in a society that was even more classist (and also racist, and this can actually be seen in BT when one of the mafiosos starts spewing shit towards Smokey due to his skin color) than it is nowadays, both having no known parents or family either and having been most likely orphaned/abandoned. Had Speedwagon been this nasty ass rich man, he could have simply ignored Smokey or treated him poorly, or could have even turned him to authorities, considering Smokey’s criminal record just for the sake of “preventing him from stealing from him” or whatever. There was literally nothing Spw could benefit himself from by keeping Smokey around like he did, which is a core trait in abusive/exploitative people. However, he never did any of that. Instead, and despite the reigning classism and racism at the time, Speedwagon along with Erina always embraced Smokey from the start and basically became his godparents, never letting the kid go back to his life in the streets, providing him with everything he needed and making sure he received a proper education, which was something very few people of color (black people, specially) could receive. And yet, Speedwagon and Erina made it happen, very likely using some of Spw’s influences to allow Smokey go to the school (and eventually college too) of his choice without any stigma or trouble at all and covering all expenses for him. -end of edit-))
If this was, idk, the Metal Gear series or some other media that revolves around the topic of politics, then the whole "cRaPiTaLisM!!! >:O" thing would have some weight and be plausible as it directly impacts the main plot of the story. But here?? In Jojo's?? Where the main focus as stated by it's author himself is the strength of the human spirit overcoming obstacles in the face of actual evil??? Try harder.
And, before I get That One Type of fans yelling at me that "people don't just get rich without exploiting people in real life!!"… do you guys realize we're talking about animanga series where vampires, funky stone masks with spooky powers, pillar men, stands, people who can use some ancient sunpowered martial art, plankton that can turn into a sentient person, and so on can happen, right? And yet I don't see anyone whining that "tHaT DoEsN'T hApPeN iRl!!".
And like, if this whole claim stems from disliking Speedwagon, just say you don't like him and move the fuck on. You don't need to try to justify your disliking for him or for ANY other characters, let alone making up wildly out of character bullshit about them to try to prove to yourself and to everyone else why according to you the character is "bad". I promise you it is not a big deal to simply not vibe with a character.

thinking about aemond killing luke on purpose and alicent and otto being livid and aegon throwing him a feast and siding with his brother publicly even though it is effectively ending the tense cold war sort of stage to outright open military conflict
and thinking about how helaena fits in this. she's not ignorant of what this means, and she definitely doesn't see it as something to be celebrated. maybe death couldn't be avoided, but celebrating it with a feast is distasteful in her opinion, and it'd certainly be seen as offensive, as well as deliberate provocation. if aemond's actions started it, aegon's ensure there's no way back.
at the same time i think she understands both why aemond would do it and why aegon would make a grand gesture to support him, and she wouldn't fault either. her loyalty to her family is unbreakable (one of her greatest flaws; she's more than willing to overlook any wrongdoing by their hands), and when her family is split on their stance, she leans towards her brothers more so than her mother. and if otto is on one side more often than not she'd rather be on the opposite side ngl
all of this to say that whether aemond regrets it or not doesn't make a difference, because she'll stand with him even if there's blood on his hands. and that even if aegon's celebration is distasteful, it is a display of loyalty too, and uncomfortable as she personally may be, none of it would be voiced or manifested, and she would stand with him too.
the idea they can only rely on each other might be a little too ingrained in all of them (especially after the night aemond lost his eye), and i think it certainly plays a part to some extent. there is no one else. they stand for each other no matter what or no one will. but i think there's a willing joining of hands too. she accepts and wants them as they are, even when that means flawed and violent and uncaring.
she may not raise her voice to condone what they do, but she won't shun them either - and any grievances that need be spoken (because i don't mean she isn't critical; only that ultimately she stands with them even when she disagrees) would be discussed in private. helaena might be snappy or passive-aggressive at times, but when it comes to serious matters like this, there would only be unity in the public eye. i'm sure aegon heard criticism for his feast, but she nevertheless attended and did her best to present herself as she ought to.

i think a lot of people coddle kuai liang too much. yes he’s good and a tortured man etc. and people see that he has struggled but don’t really see that he still is struggling and has faults. even in mk12 people aren’t really talking about how he did in fact try to kill bi-han- which yes, he would have regretted, but that is still a fault you have to see in him. he’s susceptible to fits of blind rage that will make him do things he’ll regret. his anger was justified (obviously) but he’s also capable of murdering his own brother (which once again, i am sure he would have regretted).
#like criticism of writing aside- that is who he is now. he isn’t an innocent baby who needs to be constantly coddled#he’s a nice guy he’s a great guy etc etc etc but he has these negative traits that are a part of his character#idk if infantilizing would be the right word for what i feel like this fandom does to him#as much as i talk about bihan it’s kuai liang who’s the character who i love most#mostly for sentimental reasons due to being the character i first liked#but i feel like the fandom doesn’t really appreciate him as much as they want to ‘baby’ him#and once again he’s one of the purest characters out there!! but he’s also full of a lot of pain#and in mk12 we actually saw him exert that pain into rage which almost killed bihan#and it’s a negative part of him (the consequences of his blinding rage) that we have to also accept as a part of him#this isn’t directed at anyone this is just a general problem i have with the fandom#i like him a lot and think he has faults we should also appreciate him for and that negative traits in a character don’t make them a bad#character but make them more interesting 👍#i think his anger is now brushed off as ‘oh yeah it’s justified’ and like yeah but also do you see how he almost killed bihan? how he#violently killed the guards?#how he would have done that to bihan if he was not stopped by a gaurd?#his anger is beyond something that’s just ‘justified’ it’s also something that *can* control him#and yes i’m aware he ended up sparing bihan after their fight but that’s not the point i’m making#kuai liang#talking;

Morty was really nice.
The second he gets his microphone back, he creates a starring role for Luigi on the spot (as a mix of inspiration and appreciation for Luigi's star potential? Man's got a good eye)
And y'know, I think if Weegee hadn't been scared out of his mind, facing down real, actual fire, and been given actual direction/a better idea of what was going on, I think he'd be ecstatic to be in a monster movie as a monster
Dream come true right buddy?
I hope Morty gives him a copy of that movie. (Also really really nice I don't have to capture him for E. Gadd)
Polterkitty on the other hand...
Such a cool as heck ghost, in both forms, but man. Is it kicking my butt. I've managed one tail so far but oof. This. Is gonna take me awhile...

(Probably doesn’t need much of a warning but I wouldn’t suggest reading this if selfcest makes you uncomfortable)
Honestly being on Twitter longer and not confining myself to consuming one fandom’s content has surprisingly made me feel a lot better about me and my fp’s ship. Like I lived a life thinking “haha yeah, selfcest is funny”, then having my fp decide “haha yeah, selfcest is funny so I’m making a comic of our ollys kissing”, which was such a silly joke 😭 Obviously this became a source of comfort for both of us because it’s something that’s almost been a thing for three whole years(!!) and the joke suddenly had lore.
Then of course… those people came along. People I’ve mentioned in the past; people who have tried to ruin my life and make me out to be disgusting simply because I ship a non-canon King Olly interpretation with an alternate universe version of himself. People who lied about the ship to make it seem bad, pretending it was between a 21 and 17 year old (haha, it’s not and never has been— they’re both around 17-18 in range). It made me question, “Is it really that bad to like something harmless and impossible in real life simply because some jerks online are purposefully interpreting it as harmful?”.
I’ve seen a lot on Twitter. I don’t really like using the term “selfcest” regularly unless in a joking context, and I do think it needs a name change to not cause confusion, but I’ve actually seen… a majority of people don’t think it’s problematic. I’ve seen a lot of tweets with lots of likes from people who vehemently hate proshippers telling the world that selfcest isn’t proship and it’s not bad at all. Lots of people being educated on the meaning of the word and how it’s not problematic because it’s only self love and impossible in real life. Hell, even with the release of Fionna and Cake, the Adventure Time spinoff series, a whole new popular ship that counts as selfcest rose up, and with it, a lot of people who defend the trope with their life.
I wouldn’t say I’m into selfcest. I have a ship with my fp that’s by definition selfcest, but one ship doesn’t mean you have a fetish or anything. I just think it’s otherwise funny. It’s probably one of the most harmless shipping tropes out there, as bold of a statement that may be (exceptions being the usual bad stuff, like minor x adult age gap, or sexual content between minors). In fact, did you know autosexuality is a thing? It’s a sexual/romantic orientation on the asexual spectrum that refers to an attraction to oneself, and is a very real and valid thing. Sometimes I wonder how these people would feel if they knew about that identity— would they reject it because they think attraction to yourself is somehow inherently incestuous, or would they accept it, but reject the fantasies autosexual folks may project onto fictional characters that cannot be harmed like real people?
I’ve actually identified as autosexual in the past. I saw quite a lot of people making fun of it online back then, so I kind of silently took back that label, but all I’ve seen super recently almost makes me a bit more comfortable publicly identifying with it. It’s nothing that hurts anyone, because what you do with yourself alone, provided you’re in the right state of mind, will always be consensual, and brings no one else into the equation. Maybe someone will feel rejected if one were to say “Sorry, I like myself more”, but is that really our biggest issue? Is that anything truly “problematic”?
It’s not— it’s harmless, and always will be. And it makes me happy to see the majority of people agree.
What would I do without my 450+ image album of my fp alone’s art of our Ollys, anyway?

Dear Force, this deserves its own post
Legasy of Firs Blade is giving me second-hand embarassment. They are trying to swing Natakat/Kassandra things so hard but -
Half the story it feels like it’s you babysitting Natakas (not quite, but it feels like that) and the other? Listening to Darius angst. All while having the tough choice of picking among:
 I trust Darius
I don’t trust Darius
I trust no one
Like. Can I get a “I don’t know him enough to trust him?” And. They are really, really trying to make it feel like Kassandra wants to settle down. Meanwhile, my Kassandra is screaming internally: “I don’t even know you, people! Why are you unloading your angst on me???” I mean. It could work. But the plot doesn’t give it all a chance to work. Even the Order members (other than the twisted-minded Hunter - whom I did like. Now, if only he wasn’t out to kill Kassandra...) felt quite flat
Heeeere’s to hoping Achaia goes better paced
Meanwhile, I’ll let the pretty pretty eyes of Darius tide me over. Seriosly. Best modeled eyes in the game. And they went to a hair-trigger, murder happy guy who (possibly) moonlights as Sasuke in some crossover
