Imagined this goofy situation where Mr Bakura didn't know about Yami Bakura and where Ryou and him got seperated in different bodies. So, one day Dad comes to visit Ryou, he sits on the sofa, while Ryou is next to him on the chair. And Yami Bakura just comes to them and says "Hey". And then Mr Bakura just looks shocked, take his grasses off, cleans them, put them on and says "Son, why there's a two of you? "

This got cut off in the chapter update post, so I'm reposting it by itself.

Accompanying this chapter of Rock Bottom is art that I commissioned from the talented @luxielovesparkles of Ryou's archaeologist father, Dr. Kenji Bakura! He's based on the few shots we had of him from back in season one of the anime. In this AU, his whole family is alive and well (yay!), and this is the good man that believes his son about the Spirit of the Millennium Ring, who saved the Ishtar siblings from their oppressive and abusive lives underground, and who is doing his best to watch out for these kids as they meddle with ancient magic. He works at the Domino Museum, sponsored by the university, and is friends with both Solomon Mutou and Arthur Hawkins. And in this chapter, he's stepping up to do for our very troubled Seto what he thinks he should have done in the first place: get involved, even if Seto doesn't want him to, because dammit this boy needs help.

I also have a tendership vampire romcom au with tragic ryou backstory (he almost killed his dad accidentally when his dad got him turned into a vampire... which is a long story) but like. as much as ryou kinda angsts about being a monster in the au it IS a romcom. and I find that hilarious

but yeah this scene is moments before disaster TM (ryou bites papa too much)

new yugioh au idea: shadi and mr. bakura both live and are forced to co-parent because mr. bakura, now not-enthralled by the ring doesn't know how to handle his new possessed son and is still injured from failing the ring's test

For a pair of spooky guys, this is too adorable. (Fun fact below)

In the Japanese version of Duel Links, Kotsuzuka addresses Yami Bakura as Occult no aniki (オカルトの兄貴). He even has voice lines in the Tag Duel Tournament event where you can hear him say it.

If you recall, "aniki" (aka "big bro" or "boss"), in gang slang, is how he, Satake, and Takaido used to call Bandit Keith back when they looked up to him (no longer used after Keith's betrayal, obviously).

I assume the reason for this nickname is that Kotsuzuka never learned Bakura's name, so he calls him "big bro Occult" since the word represents Yami Bakura's essence as a duelist, engraved in Kotsuzuka's memory due to their first encounter and duel.

In the English version, they translated it as Mr. Occult Deck, which Kotsuzuka uses during the event Wave Duel Scramble.

The fact that Kotsuzuka looks up to Yami Bakura because he's spooky is just too cute.

Do you think Bonz and Bakura would get along?

Yeah they're both weird spooky teens. Probably like the same movies. That said Bonz seems relatively sensible and just into the undead aesthetic so he may find Bakura's legitimate eeriness a little too weird.

Unless of course you mean Yami Bakura in which case they don't get along because Yami Bakura killed him with gleeful unconcern in such a way that Mr. and Mrs. Kozuka will never even have a body to put in their son's grave.
