The new "Karate Kid" movie has added Sadie Stanley as the romantic lead opposite Ben Wang!!! 😀 I know Sadie from season 2 of "Cruel Summer", which weirdly enough one of season 1's cast members was Barrett Carnahan aka Young Kreese on "Cobra Kai". So confirmed cast so far are Ben, Sadie, Ralph, Jackie, and Joshua.

I just want to talk about this for a second:
There's a reason why they had this mentioned in the episode. That the Diaz parents won custody of Christopher. It's all in relation to Buck's journey with his own parents as well as Chim's (that we see at the end of the episode).
This is showing you that the writers aren't giving these parents a pass, no matter what decisions Buck and Chim (and Eddie) make regarding them and their relationships with them. We saw Eddie last season make peace with his dad; he did it for himself:
youtube
This doesn't negate what Buck, Chim, and Eddie have gone through with their parents. It doesn't offer them immediate forgiveness or redemption, choosing to have selective amnesia on earlier events in these three characters' journeys. It sets them up to make their own choices, to take the power back and reclaim their agency, which is so important for their emotional journeys, especially as parents, particularly Chim and Eddie. Since this season the writers have chosen to focus on the sperm donor arc for Buck (and the idea of kids and fatherhood) and how this affects his emotional journey going forward, it makes absolute sense that they chose for this to "happen" to Christopher and Eddie in Buck's coma dream, that this is the reason Eddie lost custody and how it has affected his life.
The writers are letting you know that they are aware there is a distinct difference between looking the other way on all the Diazes, Buckleys, and Mr. Han have done (and sweeping it all under the rug), and our main characters being in a position to make their own choices moving ahead while also gaining self-realization (like Buck's realizing he is enough for example) and self-acceptance. And I can tell you from personal experience, that definitely reflects real life. Not everything is black and white, and sometimes in order for us to be able to heal and move forward, we need to make decisions for ourselves that others might not necessarily agree with.
You don't have to like it, but to claim that the writers are giving these problematic parents a full on pass...I'm sorry, but you're incorrect. Instead, they are empowering Buck, Chim, and Eddie, and that's what's most important here. It's the character's choice.

Okay I’m not done, so. Mini rant? While I still gotta see how this storyline with Chimney and his dad plays out, yeah I’m not diggin it. Let me explain.
While I’m confident the Buckley parents aren’t getting a redemption arc (though I wonder if casual viewers even recognize this), it is seeming like a possible redemption for Mr. Han is legit. And.... So far I don’t think it’s been handled well. All we’ve gotten in two episodes is  1) Albert is the one to bring/drag Mr. Han to see Chimney and his granddaughter.  2) Albert 2-3 times has low-key put down Chimney (and/or just made Chimney feel bad) for not giving Mr. Han a chance? When buddy. Chimney gave Mr. Han chances for literal decades. I think Chimney quit/gave up only in the past, what, few years? But before that, Chimney had tried to keep in contact with his dad for years, but got no love from Mr. Han.  3) Chimney’s step mom talking to Chimney for a couple minutes to say, “Hey. Your dad is very prideful, just like you. Maybe give him a chance.”
But what have we not seen? Mr. Han doing... anything. It’s just been Albert and his wife pushing Chimney to reach out.
Soooo I’m gonna need to see Mr. Han do something. Actually talk, have more than one conversation, with Chimney and say I’m sorry. At the bare minimum.
EDIT: Also the only thing we really got from Mr. Han was him being a few different flavors of phobic with his comment about it being unnatural for a man to raise another mans child. And then him playing I think one time with Jee-Yun. So yeah. I’m gonna need a lot more from Mr. Han.

A surprise (not really) to be sure, but a welcome one
There is a saucy precursor to this one (the night before, after Grogu had gone to sleep, and before he clambered into their bed the next morning to beg for eggs), just don't know how evil Tvmb1r will be about my posting it
Also their legs are all tangled up under the sheets. Din treats Luke like a space heater, and Luke is very tactile (he's tactile when awake but he's moreso when out cold)

I cannot even begin to articulate how beautiful and heartbreaking the Kevin moment was.
The idea that this man who Chimney loved as a brother, who he lost too soon, came back to him in his moment of need and pointed him home? The way Kevin is one of his ghosts, but only in the most loving way.
As tragic as it was, losing Kevin brought with it a realization of unconditional love in the Lees—because not only did they manage to love him through the hurt, but they needed him, too. He wasn't a reminder of their pain—he was the son they had left who they could have lost, too, but didn't. He was love and joy, even through all the hurt. They were a family. A little bit broken, but built on the kind of foundation Chimney had never had until them, at least not since he'd lost his mom.
For Kevin to be the one to point him home? To send him to the two people whose unconditional love had kept him alive, if only in their hearts? To the parents who'd raised them both and didn't deserve to lose another son? To the two people who had never let him down?
It's just a lot.

Joshua Jackson just got cast in the new "Karate Kid" movie!!! 😀 His role is being kept a mystery but he's one of the main cast members along side Ralph Macchio as Daniel Larusso, Jackie Chan as Mr. Han, and Ben Wang as the new Karate Kid. For fans like me who have compared "Cobra Kai" to the "Mighty Ducks" movie this is great almost crossover and can't wait to find out who he plays and who else is in this. LOL

Organa-Solo my ass. You can’t tell me Han isn’t begging to take Organa as his name. Think of the stunts he could pull, the places he could get into, the fucking swagger this man would have as Mr. fucking Organa.

Wait, I just thought of something.
Does Chimney’s dad, I’ll call him Mr. Han, even want to see or have anything to do with Jee Yun? Or did Mr. Han really only come because Albert asked him to (which would be a testament to their relationship)? As far as we know and I remember, Mr. Han has never reached out to Chimney so he could even try to have a relationship with his granddaughter. So like, is Mr. Han only there out of obligation of some kind???
And I’m once again going to state that Albert was out of line this episode. 1) giving no notice about bringing Mr. Han, 2) deciding he has any say about what kind of relationship Jee Yun should have with Mr. Han, and 3) weirdly implicating that Chimney has done something wrong for “not trying” to mend or have a relationship with his dad (who full on abandoned him).
