what are your favorite fics you read for every member? like the ones that resonated and left you a changed woman when you finished. could be because of characterization, or plot, or nostalgia, just the ones that come first and easy for every member, like, the iconic ones for you. can be mxm. i'm asking cause i just read worldwide lonesome and. damb. just. i kinda feel like i read seokjin’s diary or something? like it felt invasive just bc of how REAL he felt, you feel me? so. i'm curious about u

this is such a loaded ask because honestly, i had to think really deeply about this!! there are so many fics out there that have changed me as a writer and as a person in general that its hard to pick just seven... but i’m glad you mentioned worldwide lonesome because that fic is definitely!! fucking!! up there!! it might actually be my #1 seokjin fic, so you already got me there. but man... i put a lot of thought into my answer because my reading list is a never-ending pool of queerness and angstiness, as those tend to resonate the most deeply with me (since i am, after all, both queer and angsty HAHAH) so uhhh... here i go!! (also i apologize that these are mostly mxm... weirdly enough, i’m kind of more affected by those bc i relate more to them than reader inserts for some reason... the world is bombarded with hetero representation, so excuse me for clinging to my sole source of queer love lmao)

➤ for seokjin:

worldwide lonesome by loindexter [yoonjin] - i already mentioned it, but MAN... this fic left me stunned. the characterization of seokjin is what gets me the most, and by god, i am a SUCKER for coming out stories. as a closeted queer person, i’ve always wondered what other people’s experiences are with coming to terms with their sexuality, and op really hits the nail on the head. seokjin in this fic just feels... so real. like you said, it almost felt like i was looking into his diary!! it was maddening and tearjerking and oh so fucking human... you could feel his turmoil as if it were your own... and yoongi!! dear god, yoongi... that sweet fool... this fic just struck a cord with me because of how intimate and vulnerable it felt. i really hope i can write a fic like that in the future.

➤ for yoongi:

here comes the sun by fruitily [yoonkook] - this was unequivocally the hardest decision i’ve ever had to make in my life, mostly because i’ve read a plethora of yoongi fics in my day and it is quite literally so difficult to pin down a singular fic that changed me the most as a person. the reason i chose this certain fruitily fic (op will always be my biggest writing idol... if i could, i’d list down their entire masterlist as my favorite yoongi/jungkook fics of all time) because of the emotions it made me feel. there’s always something a bit sad about summer romances, and i’ve always been a sucker for that sort of trope because of the many possibilities you can do with it. it’s just... the way yoongi was portrayed here was just so darn REAL,,, you could almost physically feel his increasing want, his slow realization that yes, he does love the bucktoothed kid from summer camp. i absolutely adore the interactions he has with all the characters, because you can almost fool yourself into thinking he’s a real person. he’s a friend, and you’re watching him come to terms with what it means to love someone you only see once a year. dear lord i love that dude i’m gonna go cry now!!

(also bc i’m cheating but i also recommend the nights really were made for saying things you can't say tomorrow day by siderum... first yoonkook fic i ever read and dare i say it literally changed me as a person. there are no words.)

➤ for hoseok:

depaysement by 1honeypot (oilblotter/obiwrites) - okay i know this is fucked up for me to recommend a fic that doesn’t even exist on the internet anymore (op deleted her account on tumblr and has moved to ao3 but she’s never gonna reupload this fic again unfortunately) but MAN i still remember that fic to this day. it was so fucking GOOD and it made me realize the potential reader fics had that i never knew was possible. the entire plot was the usual make-over cliche (popular trendy girl makes the nerd hot yadah yadah yadah) that i had thought wouldn’t be interesting, but op managed to turn that trope into her own. it was hilarious, hot, moving, relatable... just ticking off every point that makes a fic great. i miss that fic so dearly and if you were some of the lucky few who managed to read it when it was still around... i think you all understand.

➤ for namjoon:

beta tau sigma by bazooka [namjin] - i cannot count the amount of times i’ve reread this fic. like, no joke, i probably memorize a few of the chapters from rereading it alone. holy fuck,,, as you can tell, i have a pattern when it comes to my fave fics and it’s all about: GAY PANIC THE MUSICAL!! yea... i just really like fics about self-discovery because MAN as a young adult traversing the mysteries of human nature and sexuality, i sincerely relate to namjoon in this fic. “am i gay, or am i just gay for my best friend?” is a question i have asked myself NUMEROUS times... dear god, namjoon is just a walking catastrophe and i!! could not!! relate!! more!! the plot flow and immersion you get from this fic is out of this world. you almost feel like you’re in the same frat as them!! i also love the way op made even the side characters have their own story arcs and backgrounds... they are what inspired me to give life to even the smallest of characters bc it just heightens the reading experience imo!! they really do feel like your friends in this fic, and this fic will always be my sources of comfort.

➤ for jimin:

darling, just say you’ll say by tusaisbts [yoonmin] - have i not sung this fic enough praises? i know it looks weird from the premise... cowboys? mail order brides? i thought it was odd at first too, but believe me when i say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. jimin’s growth as a character here left me absolutely speechless!! i just love his development: from a scared stranger dropped off in the middle of nowhere to a smart and capable teacher who can hold his own in this small rural town. i especially love how he interacts with yoongi, because op really makes you want to root for them. you want them to fall in love, to make their relationship work out. that yearning for two characters to get together is something i want my own readers to feel, and there aren’t enough words in my vernacular to explain how happy i was when everything turned out well. and jfc... rancher yoongi? got me so fucking hot n bothered and now i will forever be enamored by the thought of rugged yoongi... jfc...

➤ for taehyung (& jimin!!):

mudlands & yellow acacia by nonheather [vmin] - i remember the day i read this like it was yesterday. i had a final to study for, but instead i read this entire thing in one go and then i cried my eyes out even until the moment i walked into my exam room. i don’t know how else to describe this other than it was otherworldly. it was cozy. it was heartbreaking and magical and downright lovely. i especially loved the way taehyung was here... so fucking whipped for park jimin. he loved like no other man could, and jimin might have been a little too bullheaded at first, but they make it out okay. i’m not really one to believe in soulmates, but this fic almost made me believe they could be. it made me yearn for the first time, and i think that counts for something. to love another person and to have them love you back... op made me believe in love.

➤ for jungkook:

years since you’ve been here by ameliabedelias [namkook] - okay maybe i’m just a crybaby and i cry at every fic under the sun but dear god this fic... might be The Fic That Changed Me As A Person. like, of course the other fics were mindblowing but this one in particular... wow. trampled all my expectations and caused a garden to bloom in my heart. jungkook is so sweet, so lost... he feels too much and he aches for namjoon. i know all too well that feeling of melancholy... when you love someone you’re not supposed to. coming of age stories will always have a soft spot in my heart, because i always tend to project myself onto the main characters. i want to grow and find my own destiny. i want to learn and be happy. jungkook finds his way, tumbles and trips the entire time, but he gets there. a symbol of queer triumph.

This is the first abo bts story that I read and I stayed up all night. Its an abo mixed with a soulmate au as it is divided up by the different time periods/eras that they find themselves in. My story doesn't feature male omegas, but this one does and its an interesting dynamic to see. My favorite is the viking universe as it nicely showcases characterization and growth.

@momora (AO3) Saltation

This story is so cute ♡ It isn't over fluffy but the pairing is Yoonmin so that should let you know what your in for. The world building is also unlike any I've ever seen. ABO stories tend to be on the darker side (from what I've read) & its nice to have a story that balances both elements of romance with the struggles of being an omega/alpha. I could go on and on about world-building but that includes spoilers so I just highly reccomend.

This story is just fun. The dynamic between the reader and Seokjin is cute and displays a healthy relationship between alphas & omegas (unlike my story), so I highly reccomend. Also the smut is top tier 👌

What’s youre favorite BTS pairing and what’s youre favorite or dream scenario (emeto and sneeze). Do you have any specific favorite things to see/hear in sickfics (specific dialogue or actions)?

These are my favourite kind of asks and whoever sends me these I want you to know that ily. putting it under a read more because this mf got lengthy

So I don’t really ship the boys thaaat often but I have the biggest weakness in the world for yoonmin. I’d probably say minjoon second, and then probably taekook? I also like namgi. So, uh. Fuck maybe I do ship them bye. 🤡

Dream snz scenario:

Alright I’ve said it a few times but my absolute favourite types of fics to read are really anything to do with animal allergies. (especially cats because I love them so much lmao) I especially go weak in the mf knees if it’s yoongi, jimin, or joon as the sufferers, but that’s most likely because they’re my three biases. 🤡🤡 I especially like scenarios where the allergy sufferer doesn’t admit to it right away, and maybe just tries to push through? Ooooor scenarios where they’re snzing a lot and later find out it’s because someone actually snuck the animal they’re allergic to into the house or something. I really just like allergy fics in general, though. Like. That’s my shit.

Dream emeto scenario:

So I have pretty severe emetophobia which I think I’ve said a few times but never really have gone into detail about. Luckily, talking, reading, and writing about it don’t bother me too badly, but that also means I don’t tend to focus too heavily on emeto-driven scenarios. That being said, I find myself really enjoying carsick and drunk fics the most. (maybe because the sufferers aren’t actually sick? Dunno -- couldn’t tell you) But there’s just something that hits diff about a member waking up hungover as fuck from a night of bad decisions rushing their way to the bathroom when their stomach starts doing flips in morning. I’d probably say yoongi as the sickie in these situations hits the MOST diff for me personally, but for carsickness I really love Hobi-centered fics. Sympathy-sick Hobi also is -chef’s kiss-

Oh maaaan okay. So favourite dialogue/actions. I go absolutely feral for any type of hurried or interrupted speech. So things like “s-sorry i...ithinki’maboutto--” make me ldkfja;slfkj and I’m also a big fan of like....subtlety??? in fics? so just little things like the characters absentmindedly touching/rubbing their noses after a sentence. Or small sniffles that sort of clue the audience/other characters in the story into the fact that something’s not quite right. I also enjoy the other characters commenting on how the sickie looks “you look like shit” “are you feeling okay? you’re a little...” “yikes. you don’t look so good” etc etc as well as the characters commenting on the sickie’s snzing??? like “wow! you okay?” “bless you, that didn’t sound too good.” “Man, what’s gotten into you?” and things of that nature! I’m actually a huge fan of bless you’s in fics BUT fun fact, I don’t really ever write them into my own fics if the fics are taking place in the normal bangtan universe lmfao. Simply because they just don’t say bless you in Korean culture, lol. And there isn’t any type of equivalent. If I get the boys to say bless you I usually make a point of saying they said it in English. It’s just a habit I’ve gotten into and I’ve kept it up so idk!! If it’s an AU though then we’re blessing the fuck outta them gdi.

Before This Christmas : taegi, non au, amnesia, a great fic, rated T, 8k words, summary’s too long.

black versus blue : taekook, soulmate au, a LOT of angst, i LOVE this fic, hurt/comfort, dr tae, side yoonmin and namjin, rated E, 41k words.

summary: Taehyung had always dreaded meeting his soulmate, unlike the rest of the world’s population. He always hid the words scrawled in black cursive on the inside of his right wrist and felt terror at the thought of them turning blue, of his soulmate speaking them.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo : yoonmin, rated T, royal au, 34k words, cute, i really like this twist on classics kinda thing.

summary: Everyone (including Taehyung, Jimin's best friend) could only talk about the ball the royal family was going to give in honor of the princes. Every single one was thinking and worrying about which clothes they should wear and how to impress the two, very single, princes. Jimin? He could only think about the new regular, who had a sweet tooth and the cutest smile he had ever seen.

The Universe Has Moved For Us, Without Missing A Single Thing : minjoon, such a feel good fic, tsundere min, canon, with a bit of yoonjin, so good, rated M, 14k words.

summary: Jimin is tasked to create his next comeback with his least favourite producer at BIGHIT, RM.

He is petty and bitter from day one.

yesteryear's charms : jikook, hp au, a lot of fun, enemies to lovers (if you dont know, im a sucker for this particular trope), rated M, 18k words.

summary: After losing a bet, Jimin has to perform the Jingle Bell Rock routine from the iconic Muggle film, Mean Girls, at Hogwarts' annual talent show, dressed in red pleather and black knee-high boots. He receives a bigger reaction from certain people (read: ult rival Jeon Jeongguk) than expected.

a dose of salt : jikook, I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS FIC, with a lot of taejin, doctors au, enemies to lovers, pls check it, its great, rated E, 145k words, ongoing, almost finished.

summary: Park Jimin is a renown cardiothoracic surgeon—a genius, a medical prodigy, the best surgeon at the hospital. He’s kind, friendly, handsome, and patient. summary: Thanks to Jungkook's idiot best friend, he drowned the books he borrowed from the library. Now, he has to work there to work off his debt. He doesn't really like the job but that one boy that always has his nose burried in his books makes his days much better.Or in which Jungkook meets bookworm Jimin and falls harder than he thought he would.

ALRIGHT HERE WE GO

ight before we get started lemme clarify this is not a quote (if you couldn’t tell lmao) but it is STILL IMPORTANT!!!

okay so, as you all probably know, i haven’t been very active at ALL recently (i’ve pretty much only been online to check up on my new mutual- hi vivi love you) but it has been a bit overwhelming recently. if you didn’t know, i am a light skinned (still black) bisexual female living in america, which means that there’s a whole lot to deal with right now. because of everything that’s been going on, not just here but across the world as well, i’ve been taking a bit of a break from tumblr and twitter because it’s really hard to deal with. i have been speaking out on other social media platforms and most of what’s on my blog right now is in some way related to the current events.

along with this, i have summer homework (that takes absolutely wayyy too much of my time but it doesn't matter lmao) that i have to work on as well.

HOWEVER

i've been working really hard ! i'm sitting on a bunch of one-shots that need to be typed and edited (mostly taekook) that should hopefully be up sometime this week. a few (like, two) are drabbles for a larger work that i've got planned out (it's a taekook social media au with sides yoonmin and namjimseok), but they can definitely be read before i make it (they're set before the story, so really the only 'couple' is yoonmin and there's no flirting between other ships, but there is a lot of cute friendship !). so, though i haven't been online much, i definitely have not forgotten about my blog !

(also, i have multiple social media aus that i really want to write but i can't find an app on the play store that works so if you have any please please please let me know ! you can reply or dm me, either is fine !)

MOVING ON

so today i looked at my follower count (i check every now and then) and i saw i've reached over 300 ! now, i know this isn't a large blog, but i'm really glad this many people enjoy my content ! it's fun for me to make and your reblogs really mean a lot to me because it gets it out there, which i really really really appreciate.

i've had this blog for over a year now, but i never knew the anniversary so i went to check today and it turns out to be may 5th, so happy belated one year i guess haha. i want to do something to celebrate both the anniversary and the following milestone, so i will be taking suggestions ! i'm thinking of doing a post with all my favorite fics that i really wanna share with you all, but i could also do a few edits if you like ! let me know in the replies what you all think i should do !
