Again not a dungeon meshi reader/watcher but every time I hear about that laois guy I get reminded of how my system had/has a hyperfixation on dragons so intense that we got that big fancy dragonology book and we treated it like the damn dragon Bible for like years

Now, obviously, we understand that there's different interpretations on mythical creatures, and no one interpretation on a dragon is necessarily gospel, but that multiple interpretations on the classic tale of beasts of scale and fire are completely valid and to be expected!

Fancy Clothes

Through years of travelling Eclaire has acquired a number of outfits (we don't talk about how high that number is), ranging from practical to classy evening wear. Among the latter there is one undoubted favorite...

It’s interesting to think about the relationship between children of Apollo and snakes! Of course, the default would be a rivalry due to Apollo’s history with Python, but I love the idea of this rivalry being upturned like in the story of Asclepios. Snakes are dangerous animals, but at the same time, they symbolize healing and wisdom. Not to mention that the spirit of Pythia originates from Python’s lair, so it makes sense for Oracle children to be be more liked by snakes in general. It also makes sense for Kore, the daughter of Apollo Latromantis, the healer, to be closer to snakes and their medical aspect.

When I was making my first trying-to-be-serious ocs it was in the start of the 2010s (and I mean the START, 2010-2012) and there was a big “anti Mary-sue” movement on deviantart (the website I spent half my internet time on and was posting my art on) and I liked to make my character designs pretty extra (although compared to modern stuff they look pretty normal) so I started to get self-conscious. At the time though I was watching soul eater (and there was another thing I’m forgetting and it’s really frustrating me) and I saw that it was popular with a cool art style and the characters were extra AF, so I was like “okay. Maybe, as long as I can draw my character often and consistently it doesn’t matter if they are wild!” and you know what? Early teen me was RIGHT. Not about many things, but about this in particular she was!

Javixamelia story au idea.

Where javi is a prince that was kidnapped years ago by an evil wizard and everyone believes he is dead. A few years later when princess Isabella is about to be crowned queen, the evil wizard returns and idk, curses the land or something? And the only way to remove the curse is in a cave guarded by a dragon.

Amelia, zayto and aiyon the kingdoms bravest knight set out to kill the dragon and save the land, only to fine a gigantic black dragon. They barely manage to avoid his fire but amelia gets kidnapped and is brought into a deeper section of the cave where, to her surprise is meant to house a human.

The dragon dumps her in a cell and disappears, she is left alone for a few hours when suddenly a young man appears and brings her a tray of food, he doesn't say anything and leaves once he has placed the food on the ground.

Amelia eats the food and wonders about the boy, if he is a prisoner like her. Days pass and the boy continues to bring her food, but doesn't say a word to her. Eventually she manages to break out of the cell but can't get out of the cave and falls into another area where there are more dragons, she runs away as they chase her but runs into a dead end. But before any of the other dragons could attack her, the black dragon returns and protects her, the other dragons leave and the dragon turns to her and turns into the boy that brings her food.

He takes her back to the cave and introduces himself as javi, and explains his story, how he is a dragon shifter, a group of people who can freely transform into a dragon and back and he is the prince to the throne.

He then takes her to meet the queen, who is in human form, and amelia is surprised that she resembles the late queen. Javis mother explains how the royal dragon family have a special bloodline that can be use to power spells or something like that and when she was young, she was chased by an evil wizard named Oliver, she had been chased out of her home and stumbled upon the kingdom of Pine Ridge, how she had fallen in love with king carlos and they got married and had a baby, but she had to go home soon so she staged her death, allowing her to easily go back to her kingdom. It had pained her to leave her baby, but she was unsure if he could shift, being half human and all.

Then many years later, she found out that Oliver had returned and kidnapped her child, she had rescued him and brought him back to the land of Rafkon to embrace his destiny.

Amelia realized that the missing prince was indeed alive, but before anything else could happen Oliver attacks the kingdom and manages to take several dragons prisoner before capturing the queen. Javi and amelia set of together to rescue her and the others but run into zayto and ayion, who immedietly agree to help (you can also make them unsure, or give them a backstop of sorts, idk). Together they storm the palace and fight Oliver, who badly injuries amelia, javi rushes towards her cause he loves her (you can make this a slow or fast burn, your choice) and heals her. Because that's the power the royal dragon blood has and it somehow awakens Amelia's dragonside (look, pr made amelia not human, so I'm continuing that) and she turns into a beautiful pink dragon. Together they defeat Oliver and the curse is lifted. Amelia decides to live with javi in rafkon and ayion and zayto agree to keep it a secret (or, they can also not be part of the battle at all and believe she is dead), then javi is then crowned the king of rafkon and lives happily with amelia.

Also note: the dragons are not limited to fire if you desire, they could control other elements such as:

Blue: water

Yellow: thunder

Green: earth

White/silver: energy

Black: shadows

Pink: nature/wind

After watching The Little Mermaid (2023) and catching a glimpse of Simone, I can't help but think of a Kate Sharma mermaid au and what that would entail (no pun intended) for Kathony. Like, I'm more so imagining the mythological sea creatures for the Sharma family (including Newton and Lady Danbury) more than Anthony, because I have no idea what he would be in this au (and technical not to pressed about it). Kate Sharma as a mermaid, I can see it now, would be even more of a force to be reckoned with because (at least in my mind) mermaids would have certain abilities and she would definitely have beef with the sailors (rightful so) to the point where she earns a reputation. Then insert Anthony, who I guess I'll make human here as it could help add more context to the tension between them, coming in with his complexes (because he has them, we've seen it) and Kate makes it her mission, whenever he's in her vicinity, to knock him down a peg---which occasionally includes sending waves of water in his direction when he's dressed in his fancy human clothes. I don't have much else to expand on this au, but when I do, more will be added.
