I’m gonna stick my nose in the whole “Phantom being filmed by fans and bystanders during ghost fights and posted on social media” thing and suggest we combine it with “Good Plasmius/Vlad” to get videos and pictures of them being something of an uncle/nephew or student/teacher duo.

One video shows Phantom sparring with Plasmius. Specifically, Phantom accidentally freezes him in a block of ice and seems stuck between laughing his ass off and genuinely apologizing. Plasmius manages to get out eventually, but seems unhappy about Phantom laughing. It doesn’t faze the ghost boy, though.

Someone snapped and posted a picture of Phantom acting all sneaky and hiding behind Plasmius and under his cape, holding the side of the cape under his head with a mischievous smile while Plasmius seems unbothered.

Someone got a picture of Phantom stargazing with a telescope unbothered, face full of sheer excitement and wonder, while Plasmius is chasing a ghost hunter off.

Another person posted a video of Phantom flying, but Plasmius comes out of nowhere and grabs him by the back of his suit (or hood, depending how you draw him), and Phantom sort of goes limp like a cat. He smiles at Plasmius, but the older ghost seems unhappy with him. No one knows the story behind it, but it was funny.

The favorite one so far is a video of Phantom being exhausted after a particularly hard ghost fight and Plasmius showing up a bit too late to help, so he ends up carrying him somewhere else, and if you turn the volume up, you can hear Plasmius say “Get some rest, little badger.” right after Phantom seemingly falls asleep.

How does Scourge deal with his nephew's bad mood? When a kid cries or feels sick, when he has nightmares.

Thank you! Truly my favorite trope is “gruff man cares about child.” Heads up this answer has gotten long, so sorry.

Initially Scourge wouldn’t deal with Wachowski’s moods at all. Mans can hardly handle his own feelings let alone another’s. Still, he kinda projects on the kid early on and it opens the door for him to learn more and grow. Eventually he just sticks by Wachowski. Maybe he doesn’t have the words but he’ll be a presence.

Later in their relationship Scourge serves as a person who gives actual guidance and advice. Scourge will always be on Wachowski’s side, no matter how morally dubious the decision is. The only thing he won’t do is kill for the kid if he asked, he’ll hold a target steady but it’s Wachowski’s final move. Scourge doesn’t want to give Wachowski an out to pin his guilty conscience on him. Scourge will always leave space for selfish choice in Wachowski’s life. A well needed option for a hero. A little (non-au canon) thought experiment I had on this idea was that following the death of his parents due to a drunk driver, Wachowski is in a dark place and wants retribution. He is discouraged for all the reasons of how morally bad that is and that it’s not gonna bring his parents back. Wachowski is deeply frustrated cause those answers don’t address his feelings and his shame about having them. He seeks out scourge knowing he won’t stop him but Scourge really isn’t discouraging or encouraging. He is like “yeah, if that’s the choice make it then. I’m not doing it for you but I’ll help cover yer tracks or whatever but there’s no going back Slugger, you gotta live with it”. Wachowski can’t really go through with it, he just needed to sit in the feelings without feeling like he was being judged. Genuinely, Uncle would have buried a body, he was good friends with Maddie, and had a begrudging respect for Tom.

Encanto: Madrigal Family Relationship Analysis Part 28 - Antonio and Bruno

This is my favorite moment between this uncle and nephew duo; admittedly, it's one of the very few scenes they have together, but I still stand by my point. Antonio offers his stuffed jaguar, made by Mirabell (his favorite relative), to Bruno (a man he's just met and only heard about through his family and town's bias opinion). Jared Bush as confirmed in a twitter post that Antonio considers Bruno his pal. And I can understand why - given his gift, Antonio was told by Bruno's rats not only of the future teller's true personality but also the lengths the latter went to, to protect Mirabel, who Antonio greatly loves, cherishes, and admires. Of course, he would think of Bruno as his pal. And while it wasn't seen in the movie (which should've been), Bruno definitely returned Antonio's jaguar and genuinely thanked his young nephew for the help. And they would develop a tight bond because they are both shy but helpful guys who have an affinity towards animals more than people, and would do anything to help Mirabel, the person in the family who helped them the most (not hating on the Madrigals but the way Mirabel helped them was more beneficial). I can totally imagine Antonio cheerfully dragging Bruno along to play with him and his animals and Bruno happily agreeing since he loves being an uncle in general. I can also see Bruno trying to give good advice to Antonio that it's okay to prefer animals to people, a similar convo like the one Mirabel and Antonio had before his gift ceremony. In conclusion, these are PHENOMENAL PALS FOR LIFE.

Description: Just some miscellaneous headcanons about my favorite father-son duo <3

CW: Swearing (I have a potty mouth, that’ll never change), Eddie and Wayne’s frugalness and sense of innovation are heavily inspired by my family’s supernatural ability to avoid spending their money at all costs, hints at the first half of Eddie’s childhood being less than stellar (to put it mildly), brief mention of Eddie’s dad.

A/N: Let me know if you guys would like me to write the origin story of the fantastic, dynamic duo that is Eddie and Wayne Munson!! I have so much lore about their pre-canon lives floating around in my little ole noggin.

The Munson’s have movie night on the first Monday night of every month. As unorthodox as it may be to stay up late watching movies on a school/work night, it’s the only night of the month when Wayne usually doesn’t have to work the night shift, so it’s the only time they have to relax and hang out. <3

Wayne taught Eddie most of the basics of playing guitar, including how to tune his acoustic. However, other than that, Eddie’s pretty much self-taught. He mastered playing the electric guitar all on his own. <3

Wayne, much like Eddie, is shockingly big on nicknames. For example, Wayne’s longest and most enduring nickname for Eddie is Ferret because the boy has more energy than he knows to do with. Eddie’s also insanely good at squeezing into small spaces, which makes that moniker even more apt. Wayne also came up with your nickname, Jitterbug, because you’ve always been a fidgety, nervous nelly. <3

Wayne even has a nickname for your mom; he calls her Apple because she always uses apple-scented shampoo, the same apple-scented shampoo you used to use until you grew up and started acquiring your own hair care products. Also, Wayne calls your mom that because she often wears this cute little sweater with apples knitted all over it during the colder months. <3

Wayne keeps a picture of you and Eddie on his dashboard. It’s of you two leaning up against the brick wall at Hawkins Elementary, smiles beaming at the camera as you’d huddled in close on the morning of your first day of the third grade. On the back of it is written, in Wayne’s oddly elegant handwriting, “Ferret & Jitterbug Go To School - August 1973.” <3

Eddie is the heaviest sleeper on god’s green earth; he always has been. Consequently, when he was much younger, Wayne used to have to physically haul him out of bed in the mornings and dress him himself. Now that Eddie’s older, though, Wayne rings a rusty old cowbell he got at a garage sale to wake his nephew up; it works like a charm. Wayne thinks the cowbell was one of the greatest purchases he ever made. Eddie, on the other hand, has tried (and failed) to sneakily rid the Munson household of that damned bell on many occasions. <3

The first time Wayne caught Eddie smoking weed, when he was thirteen years old, he sprayed him with the hose to put it out. Then Wayne gave his drenched, shivering nephew the sternest, most long-winded lecture of his life. <3

After Eddie got done reading the Crucible in his 9th grade English class, Wayne had to deal with him constantly greeting him with a prim and proper “How now, dear Uncle.” <3

Eddie is one of the greatest gift-givers of all time. He listens more intently than others might initially think, so he always knows the perfect gift for someone. He gets that talent from Wayne, who inherited it from his mom, Eddie’s grandmother, Margaret Munson. <3

Similarly, both Wayne and Eddie get their dramatic flair from Mimi (what Eddie calls his grandma). She used to read Eddie his bedtime stories to him, using different, silly voices for the characters and narrators as she read through the tale, even pausing for dramatic effect when she felt it was necessary to do so. Mimi’s favorite book to read to him, which also happened to be his favorite book when he was little, was Millions of Cats. Eddie still has her copy of the book. The inside cover has the words “property of Eddie and Mimi Munson” inscribed in her pretty handwriting. He stores the treasured book in a memory box under his bed, opting to have it tucked away for safekeeping. As gross as it might be to some, Eddie finds it profoundly comforting that the book still smells like the menthols she used to smoke. <3

Wayne Munson is the DIY king, and Eddie is his protégé. Seriously, these men never hire a repair service because they fix everything themselves. Wayne even went as far as to check out books on basic wiring and electrical work from Hawkins Public Library when their trailer’s circuit breaker was giving them trouble. The Munsons have even been known to craft their own furniture from time to time, like when Wayne built the nightstand next to Eddie’s bed out of the wood that one of his friends had left over after building a new front porch for their house. He even got some dark wood stain to use on it for half off from the local hardware store since the can it was in was so dented that it hardly resembled a cylinder anymore. <3

The Munson men are also pros at shopping secondhand. They can scout out the best deals at garage sales. They can also easily scope out the most extraordinary hidden treasures at even the most cluttered thrift stores. Going shopping with them is a breeze because you know that, no matter what, you’ll get precisely what you need. <3

Wayne makes the most delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. You and Eddie aren’t sure how or why the ones he makes are always so much better than any other grilled cheeses you guys have had before, but they are. <3

Wayne’s never been a big fan of cake, so instead, you and Eddie make him a blackberry cobbler every year for his birthday using his mom’s recipe. Luckily for you both, or, rather, for your wallets, Wayne’s an August baby. Hence, blackberries are in season for his birthday and are, consequently, super fresh and not too expensive. <3

Contrary to how the rest of the town views them, most of the residents at Forest Hills quite like the Munsons, especially the elderly residents. Eddie and Wayne are the kinds of neighbors who will offer to help someone carry in their groceries, who will mow a neighbor’s lawn for free if they’re unable to do so themself, and who will even leave a lovely card in someone’s mailbox on their birthday. The Munsons are good people, and unlike most people in Hawkins, the folks who live at Forest Hills can clearly see that. Although, Eddie’s tendency to drive recklessly and blast metal music at all hours of the night sometimes makes it a little hard for his neighbors to remember just how good of a guy he truly is. <3

Wayne was your most loyal customer when you were in Girl Scouts and had to sell cookies every year. He’d save up money for months ahead of the cookie-selling season. Then, when the time finally came to start going door-to-door with your cookie forms, wearing your adorable little Junior Scout uniform, he would use that money to buy as many boxes as he could afford just to help you out. His favorites are the Tagalongs because, well, in his eyes, peanut butter and chocolate together is an unbeatable combination. <3

While Eddie’s “old man” may not have taught him how to fish, his Uncle Wayne sure did. When Eddie was a kid, back when he was still living with his shitbag of a dad, Wayne used to take him fishing at the lake at least once a week during the summer months to allow his nephew to escape his dad’s torment during summer break. Consequently, Wayne has many, many photos of a young, freckle-faced Eddie holding up the various fish he’d caught while flashing a beaming, toothy grin at the camera. He’s even got a couple of Eddie pressing kisses to some of the tinier fish his nephew caught. He also has one very special picture of 8-year-old Eddie gagging after his lips made contact with the slimy, scaly skin of the fish he was holding. That last picture is one that he’s opted to keep in his wallet; that way, he can look at it and laugh whenever he’s having a hard day. <3

Wayne and Eddie like to tease each other a lot. Granted, it’s only ever friendly fire. For example, Wayne teases Eddie about how loudly he snores at night. Meanwhile, Eddie teases Wayne about the so-called “grandpa noises” he makes when he gets up from the couch, bends over to tie his shoe, picks up something heavy, etc. <3

Wayne doesn’t really know what to do when people start crying around him; he tenses up and gets all awkward, unsure of what to say or do to make things better. But you bet your ass he tries his damnedest to console them, offering kind words, affectionate side-hugs (his full-on hugs are reserved for when his family needs them most, because he’s not really big on hugging), comforting shoulder pats, and when all else fails, a shoulder to cry on, to lean on in your time of need. <3

Wayne deserves a presidential medal of honor for all the times he’s had to take you, your siblings, and Eddie out to the Indiana Dunes for your yearly vacation by himself, which makes up nearly all of the times that you guys have gone to the Dunes, mainly because your mom was hardly ever able to get off work to come along with you all. Being stuck in a car with a bunch of ornery little shits for four hours (two hours there and back) is bad enough. Wayne Munson can and will kick anyone and everyone’s ass at backgammon. He’s also unfairly good at Battleship, much to your and Eddie’s dismay. Also, Wayne’s never been the kind of person to let a kid win simply because they’re a kid; he is ready and willing to best you and Eddie at every board game known to man. Consequently, game nights at your mom’s place (to which Eddie and Wayne are always invited) are an intense affair, to say the least, but damn, are they fun! <3

So i've been playing hades a lot lately, and its got me thinking.

Poseidon doesn't even need to compete to the favorite uncle it is so stacked in his favor.

But, in the myths at least he's not always a great person either, like all the gods have been really awful at times, cause thats just how greek gods are.

BUT he's also clearly very fond of Zagreus, and as shown during his and Zeus's convo when they offer you a duo boon, dosn't think Zeus is as great as Zeus does (though to be fair, who does. It also shows he's a little intimidated by Zeus, but i refuse to let that ruin my fun)

So, consider this.

Poseidon listing to Zag complain about Zeus, just as a matter of course, and not really understanding what Zeus did that bugged him so, but nodding along as though he understands completly:

Poseidon, externally: "Oh, Little Nephew! I understand completely, with how rude he was, your anger is completely justified! you let your favorite uncle handle it, I'll set him straight!"

Zagreus, who is still trying to maintain goodwill with the olympians: "Yeah-wait, you don't need to-"

and BAM they lose contact and he just has to pick a boon, hoping he didn't just start something.

in case you wondered, this is the line of dialogue that inspired this post, colored of course by my personal dislike of Zeus as a person (I do quite like him as a character, but he's worst uncle. F-.).

Zeus, triggered by accepting a boon from him "By the way, Nephew, I hear-tell your mother Nyx is quite the catch! If you'll forgive my saying so, of course. Your father's never had much of a sensibility around companionship, though perhaps this concubine of his brought something out in him, at last!"

2012 RAPH

I love 2012 Raph! He isn’t my favorite Raph ever, but he’s pretty close. I think a lot of the fans are too hard on him and his anger issues though. He is trying, and siblings aren’t all sunshine and rainbows. Especially when one of them has a hero complex paired with self-sacrificial tendencies, another who when he isn’t walking into trouble deliberately pushes your buttons because he thinks it’s funny, and the last one is a shut-in who’s obsessed with the only human girl you’ve ever met and also he constantly talks over your head.

I just think the fandom should cut Raph a little slack, y’know?

(I’m skipping Casey because I haven’t actually met him yet. I’ve read a lot of analyses on the 2012 turtles though and I am mostly through season 1)

OIKAWA

Okay, explanation about Oikawa’s markings. Oikawa seems to be largely treated by the fandom as the surface-level facade he uses: a pretty-boy. And he’s so much more than that! He’s incredibly driven and resilient, he’s very smart on and off the volleyball court, he’s perceptive, and he’s an uncle who takes lots of pictures of his nephew. He’s also snarky, a bit of a jerk, a very sore loser, and he struggles with his self-worth. But the thing I think gets overlooked the most and that I really love about him is the fact that he’s a friend. Look me in the eyes and tell me Iwaizumi would’ve stuck around if Oikawa didn’t behave like a real friend to him, if he wasn’t there when Iwa needed him. Iwa’s a smart guy and he knows his own worth. If Oikawa didn’t act like a friend when it counted, Iwa would be gone.

As far as him not getting enough screen time goes, it’s only in reference to season 4. I would like to see his reaction to the Inarizaki match.

KUROO

So I just got through the two Nekoma episodes (so far they’re my favorite episodes of the season btw) and I love Kuroo. I liked Kuroo okay before, but I love him now. Kuroo is a sweetheart and he cares so much about Kenma. Their friendship is adorable. I feel like he very often gets reduced to another good-looking face by the fandom though, and that’s sad. I’d love to see more talk about how he seems to step into an older brother/best friend role for Kenma! Also I love his dynamic with Yaku XD Their arguments are hilarious!

NISHINOYA

Okay first of all Moo thank you so much for including my boy.

The only things I really feel like I need to explain are the top left two boxes. “If he was real I would be afraid of him” - He’s extremely extroverted and chaotic and hyper and he’s always yelling. And he’s intimidating while doing so! The way he carries himself and his posture when he’s snapping at someone speak very clearly to me of “I can kick your butt if I need to” and I believe it. After I got to know him though we’d get along great. “If he was real I’d marry him” - I’d marry time-skip Noya in a heartbeat if he was real. I think our personalities would compliment each other nicely. I’m quiet and scared of people, he’s a chatterbox. I have a hard time standing up for myself, and he’s ready to throw hands whenever need be. He’s forgetful and spontaneous, I have a mom-friend override for responsibility and I’m flexible. We’re both feelers instead of thinkers. We’re both adventurous (to varying degrees), we’re both chaotic (to varying degrees), and we’re both physically affectionate. Plus we’re both short so getting items off the top shelf at the store would be hilarious, and I think he’d give great hugs and I want a Noya hug. Also, to be honest, he seems like someone I could be best friends with while being married to him.

Am I somewhat embarrassed to admit I’d marry time-skip Noya? Yeah. A bit. But that’s okay :) I’m cringe, but I’m free!

HINATA

I love Hinata dearly. He’s very precious to me. There just aren’t enough positive boxes that I think fit him! He’s a very deep character canonically, he has all the screen time, and the fans are usually nice enough to him. I don’t relate to him enough to project onto him. But I love Hinata so so much, he’s an absolute sweetheart and he’s perfect as the main character of Haikyu.

I guess the reason why I love Vesper and Axel is probably because I love the “flawed grumpy older guy & dumb kid” dynamic. I just think its cute and one of my favorite platonic relationship in media. I love watching the older guy became soft because the younger one has too much naïve or positive energy. This dynamic is also good as comedy duo. 

Axel Syrios & Vesper Noir (Holotempus) - They are guildmates but their duo dynamic is close to funny father and son dynamic. Vesper is heavily implied as immortal being close to Vampire so his fandom call him Grandpa. Axel call him “Nowa-oji” in return as he display his kusogaki demeanor. I recommend to watch their Interview and Drunk Izakaya stream! I love their conversation there!

Carl Fredricksen & Russell (Up) - Grumpy old man who suffer from the loss of his wife goes to an adventure with a annoying but bright scout boy. I have watched this animated film so many times and its really good.

Genjo Sanzo & Son Goku (Saiyuki) - Buddhist Priest freed a monster who looks like a child. Turns out this priest used to be a god and his past self is the father figure of this child. Watch the ova about how his past self died protecting the child! Its very heart wrenching!

Yakumo Yurakutei & Yotarou (Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu) - A prisoner finally graduated from imprisonment and decided to become a storyteller. He then approached an old man who’s a storyteller but refused to take a disciple. The anime is completed and its very good!

Hank Anderson & Connor (Detroit: Become Human) - An old detective who suffers from the loss of his son and was forced to be partnered with an android. 

Jiang Cheng & Jin Ling (Mo Dao Zu Shi) - Grumpy strict uncle who look after his orphaned nephew. I love their last scene in the novel where the child called out his Uncle’s flaws but they still have great relationship nonetheless. 

Kou Reishin & Li Kouyuu (Saiunkoku Monogatari) - Uncle who casually decided to adopt a kid just because his beloved older brother adopted one too. Yes, his reason is dumb but because of this he thought having a child around is not bad at all so he decided to finally have one with his wife. 

Zhou Zishu & Zhang Chengling (Tian Ya Ke) - Retired spymaster/assassin is forced to watch over an orphaned child in his last days. I prefer their relationship in TYK novel than the WOH drama but the drama is decent tho. 

Zhang Zhiwei & Zhang Lingyu (Yi Ren Zhi Xia) - Skilled martial arts master and his obedient disciple. I like how mischievous his master is but also a very scary martial artist in that one ova where he took revenge and attack those who’s guilty in the death of his old friend.

Askeladd & Thorfinn (Vinland Saga) - Askeladd is the murderer of Thorfinn’s father. Thorfinn followed him to get revenge someday but to his surprise, Askeladd taught him to move on and live. Askeladd became one of the most important person in Thorfinn’s life.

I’m Callie, a pansexual 5’5 Cis female with dirty blonde hair, freckles, and blue green eyes. I’m an INFP-T, gemini, and Hufflepuff. I have Aspberger’s syndrome and adhd which causes me to be somewhat socially awkward even though I like attention and act confident. I’m easily distracted and tend to start projects I easily lose motivation for. I also hyperfixate on a different topic every week (especially entomology, mythology, and zoology) and all I want to do is analyze everything about said topic, this past week was moths. I absolutely adore animals and bugs (especially the creepy crawlies) and I have a tendency to hoard pets, everything from dogs and cats to snakes and tarantulas. Also might be getting a wildlife rehabbing permit soon, fingers crossed. I practice suomenusko which combines Finnish tradition and culture with pagan beliefs. My patron god is Loki and I’m hoping to start working with Hecate soon. My hobbies include writing, drawing, crocheting, and electric guitar. When I become overstimulated, I stim, and I have two types of stimming: happy stimming which includes flapping my hands and running around and angry stimming which includes biting my hands and pulling my hair out. I’m a bit chaotic and impulsive and I love making people laugh. I have a very odd sense of humor which is utterly destroyed by modern day memes (I couldn’t stop laughing over a bass boosted picture of a toothbrush once). I also procrastinate. Like a lot. And occasionally I have depressive episodes where I lose motivation to do literally anything. My clothing style consists of a mixture between traditional Celtic and cottagecore; I like dresses and braids. I am not afraid to call anybody out on their bullshit, which gets me in trouble sometimes lol. A witch! It all started when I began collecting crystals :). I can be loud and excitable but I usually only show this side of me to people I know won’t judge me for it. My love language is definitely physical touch and gifts. If you don't think this man's gonna be right there with you, foraging mushrooms and collecting interesting rocks, feathers, bones, etc. you're wrong. And I think he's relatively ambivalent about whether he wants kids, like, he's open to it, but absolutely doesn't need them, and to some extent, genuinely believes it'd be better if he never had any at all, so he wouldn't be bothered if he never had any. He would 100% adore doting on your nieces and nephews, though, and would be the best proud uncle!

This man's like a crow, and he will court you like one: he will bring you all of the shinies, and surprise you by leaving little trinkets and rocks, crystals, feathers, all sorts of goodies, around the house for you to discover. He will also happily listen to you talk about your hyperfixations for hours, especially if you're willing to return the favor.
