Incomeless; will proofread your fics! (Or anything else.)
I'm not sure how to head this with a snazzy, attention-catching image given I'm not offering an obviously graphic service like art commissions, but let's give it a go...
Tumblr media
Hello, I'm your friendly neighborhood disabled unemployed transgender queer on the internet. I have not posted a great amount about the details on this blog for privacy reasons, but I am currently in an untenable familial/financial living situation, which I am actively working to get out of. My primary barrier to disentangling myself from the pertinent parties is a lack of income. I've been unable to pursue traditional means of work due to being multiply disabled (slash chronically ill, slash treatment-resistant, et cetera...), but I do not qualify for SSI or unemployment, so I am stuck trying to find other ways of making money.
This is where you come in... If you'd like to help, you can:
$$ Hire me $$ to proofread your fics, essays, and more!
Click below for info! (I also may add separate posts for diversity reading and/or other writing- and editing-related services.)
For $0.00855/word *OR BEST BID*, I will vet your work of writing before you publish it, checking for mistakes in spelling, capitalization, & punctuation, missed words, inconsistencies of tense, formatting, & POV, and miscellaneous grammatical errors. Never again need you fear posting a finished chapter and discovering a slew of typos after the fact; no matter how sleep-deprived or late at night the state of writing, I will ensure your text is ship-shape. Or, if you happen to be interested in having other types of writing proofread before submission--essays, comics or webtoons, letters, transcripts, compositions of a personal nature, so on--I will happily take these on at a comparable rate.[1]
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in writing
Initiate of international collegiate honors society for English scholarship, Sigma Tau Delta
Active member of the International Association of Professional Writers and Editors (IAPWE)
Former lit editor for award-winning university literary arts magazine
Prior employment in tutoring and teaching English, as well as copy-editing and content writing
Nearly 20 years' writing experience
Previous experience as both fic writer and beta
Incisive eye for typo-hunting and tenacious attention to detail (I have high standards and will make those everybody else's problem... now for pay!)
I will read for content of any genre and all ratings, and am broadly[2] open to any subject matter, kinks, et cetera. I'll also post more detailed guidelines (booking process, any exclusions, additional criteria) on a separate, unrebloggable post so that any edits and updates are always current.
Message me via the chat feature on Tumblr, or send me an e-mail (I will post it on my more info post) to request a quote, bid for a slot, or just to see what I can offer for whatever project you have in mind. And please feel encouraged to share or boost this post! I am in urgent need of any income I can get, and every share counts 😭🙌
. . . . . . . . . .

[1] There will be some exclusions to this, such as academic assignments/papers that have style guide requirements; i.e., I will not be your online MLA style checker or anything.
[2] As with anything, there will be sporadic exceptions to this as well, but I will always be up-front about such cases.

Want a commission option where you can potentially get more bang for your buck? Mystery Box commissions are fully colored, square canvas artistic liberty commissions. The way it works is that you give me a character or simple prompt, and then whatever comes out will be a surprise! (You can however, let me know what you like/dislike in advance so that I can make sure you are satisfied with the final piece :)) Each will at LEAST be a bust drawing, but you’re also likely to get a half or full body as well depending on how I approach the given prompt!

All orders under $60 are to be paid upfront in full, and those that are above $60 will be paid half upfront and half upon completion of the commission. (If you are buying more than one piece, it will be treated as a sum total, one order!) I can take both PayPal and Zelle.
If you are interested in a commission from me that isn’t any of the ones listed for sale here, let me know and I can give you a quote for the price! I will do other types, but they will be at full price. I do mixed media illustration, acrylic canvas paintings, various kinds of sculpture, and more! For any of the above, including the commissions listed within this post, please dm me here on tumblr :)
Even if you don’t buy a commission from me, please consider reblogging this post :) Thank you!

how to get myself to write when i don't have any motivation to write althu maybe willpower would be more apt?i start a story only to leave it for an insanely long time then start another story and then the same happens and if i try to restart an old story i just can't figure out what to write maybe I'm just being lazy i don't know why this keeps happening anymore I really wanted to start writing again but i can't bring myself to face my writing and patently get through writing if even just one chapter and I don't know how to end this loop
I don't want to stop writing but I'm barely writing anything anymore
Lacking Motivation/Willpower to Write
When you habitually start stories, lose steam, and abandon them--and when you try to pick them back up later but are never able to figure out what to write--it might not actually be a problem with your motivation. The biggest culprits for this problem, I've found, is either having a dry creative well or not having a solid understanding of how stories work.
1 - Dry "Creative Well" - Writers don't just come up with ideas out of thin air. Whether we realize it or not, we're pulling from a reserve inside our minds that is constantly being filled by our daily experiences. The stories we consume, current events, things we observe, things we hear from other people, places we go and things we do... these are all filling our heads with potential ideas. But there are times in life where things get busy or we aren't feeling well, and we stop doing the things that fill our creative well. So that well runs dry, and when you're writing a story, your brain has nowhere to go for ideas. Have a look at my post Guide: Filling Your Creative Well for help in getting your creative well filled back up again.
2 - How Stories Work - There are all different kinds of stories and they all work in different ways, but one thing that's true of all stories is they need to have a purpose... in other words, you need to understand the reason you want to tell this story. What are you trying to say? What do you want the reader to take away? Most stories also revolve around a conflict, whether an internal one, external one, or both. Stories that revolve around an internal conflict (a problem within the protagonist) sometimes have a very loose structure, but they can have a more solid structure, too. Stories that revolve partly or fully around an external conflict (a problem in the protagonist's world) have a more specific structure. In any case, understanding the general type of structure needed for your conflict can go along way in helping you understand what to write. See my posts: Plot Driven vs Character Driven Stories, Basic Story Structure, Beginning a New Story, and How to Move a Story Forward.
For additional trouble shooting, see:

I hope that helps!

EMERGENCY COMMISSIONS
i really hate to be doing this right now, but i geniunely have no other choice.
i have reached a point where i won't be able to cover some of my basic bills and debt. theres a total of 350€ i need to pay off in the next couple of weeks of which i can cover about 100€ right now. (the remaining is approx. $280 according to google).
i am currently working as an intern in an unpaid internship where i only get a small amount of money to cover basic living expenses such as groceries, etc. and unfortunately, turkiye (where i am currently staying at) had been hit by a massive hyperinflatation, making basic living expenses very expensive.
with this, i want to open emergency commissions for genshin and tears of themis fanfiction, as well as original characters works, selfship works specilized for you alone, and similar stuff.
if you have a bit to spare, i would really appreciate the support. i am not the type to beg for money but i am really in a tough spot right now and i hate to be doing this right now.
as for the pricings, dm me or send me an ask and we can work something out that works for us :)
if you're unable to help out in this way, please share this post by reblogging, telling people you know who you think are able to help, anything. i appreciate all the help.

Nexy's Ko-Fi
Tumblr media
I had an old Ko-Fi post, but I updated some things so I wanted to post a new FAQ. <3
Link to my Ko-Fi.
FAQ
Can I still submit a request if I don't use Ko-fi/don't want to pay?
Yes! My inbox is always open for bot and fic requests, for free! Ko-Fi is just there for anyone who wants to tip my work or purchase a commission. There's no obligation. <3
What are the benefits to a commission instead of a free request?
Free requests I do for fun but may pick and choose which to complete or decline ones too similar to others I've done. In addition, there's no set time for me to finish them as well.
Purchasing a commission guarantees the request will be completed and finished within a certain period of time. It also allows you to discuss more specifics on what you want, where free inbox requests are entirely interpreted by myself based on the ask I receive.
For bot commissions I'd also be open to doing ones outside of the fandoms on my blog.
What are you offering?
Currently I have 3 commission types open.
$15 Short Oneshot - 500 - 2.5k words.
$20 Long Oneshot - 3-5k words.
$10 Bot Requests - For Spicychat and Character AI.

I'm opening a handful of small commission slots o.o Let's see if I still know how this works, it's been a while! xD
No but for real, send me a DM on tumblr or Discord (if we're in contact there already) if you're interested in a portrait of 1 character in any of the types and styles listed above (Sketch, Headshot fully rendered, Pride OC half-body)! This is going to be a "test round" to see if my old prices can still keep up with the risen costs of living here since the last time I did these. So, this might be the last time I'm offering stuff for the prices listed and may switch to a different price model next time around, depending on my findings XD
For the Sketch Portrait and Headshot Portrait you can choose two cel-shading styles:
Tumblr media
Photoshop - just a style example, I do these in Photoshop with a clean, fine lineart brush, so the lines are gonna be very crisp and sharp.
Tumblr media
Procreate - just a style example, I work in Procreate with a textured brush that makes lines and shadows/shading a bit more sketchy or grainy-looking. Edges and details are sketchier and softer.
The Pride OCs I'm traditionally always doing in Procreate xD
This round of commission is open for OC Portraits - your own or your friends' original characters - and I'd preferrably work on Cyberpunk 2077 or DnD/tabletop characters :3 But all other fandoms I've drawn for before, as well as ones I don't know yet, are obviously welcome too! Just bear in mind my "dos and donts" and my general [Terms of Service] when contacting me for a slot. I reserve the right to refuse any commission request.
Currently I'm planning to get started working on these next week, but at the latest in September! Please do not contact me with time-sensitive requests this time around.
Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to hearing from you! If I don't get back in touch with you immediately, I usually do within 12 hours, depending on timezones :D Also, if you have questions about my process, turnaround times, etc. don't hesitate to reach out either or check out my (slightly dated, update in progress) commissions page: elvenbeard.tumblr.com/commissions
Status below the cut.
Commission Status: open
Slots (taken | completed): (4 | 0)

I got bills to pay! And discounted experimental N S F W comms are OPEN! Currently ONLY for users I recognize, such as followers I’ve had (positive) interactions with and seen around for a while, mutuals, and previous clients. If I don't know who you are even remotely, it's gonna be a no. You gotta be 18+ as well, of course. There are some series I will NOT draw, if you ask for it, then I'll let you know I won't do it. I'm estimating about 3 slots will be open, but if someone buys a particularly complex one, I may reduce the amount.
I can do short comics and sequences, but keep in mind those are independently quoted prices based off complexity and amount of images/pages and not the flat rate above. Kinks/fetishes are also fine! Just run them by me and make sure they're not on the will not draw list above. Don't try to stealth them past me. That will get you blacklisted.
Keep in mind these are at the end of a short but pre-existing queue!-- Estimated start time for the first one of this type is around the middle or later in the month.
You can see other examples at @wetciabatta on here and Pillowfort. I also have SFW comms open, if that's more your thing, but please use my Ko-Fi for that. 3 slots available currently on there!
Process:
Read the rules and figure out what you would like if it's something I'll do (if shading, poses, overall scene, etc.). Also please acknowledge the price is something you can/are willing to pay.
IM me including an email you can use to discuss such content (so not the family email or a work one), if you're someone I recognize and am comfortable taking such a comm from you (unlikely chance I WON'T, but y'know) I'll email you. DO NOT INCLUDE THE ACTUAL COMMISSION DESCRIPTION/ANY IMAGES OF THAT NATURE HERE. Don't accidentally get yourself flagged.
I will give you a randomized codeword in the IM so I know who is who, especially if email and username don't match. Also, so I can verify it's not some rando who saw us interact/saw that you commed me before and is trying to sneak around. (in my and others' experiences, people do weird, cringeworthy desperate things to get these types of commissions, man...)
When I email you, respond with the following info: -The codeword and who you are on Tumblr -Paypal email to invoice -What you would like drawn as well as parameters (if cropped specifically, what? If you want shading, if a comic then how many panels or pages, etc.) -Any visual references such as for OCs/Player characters or AU versions of characters. I will not draw characters that only have a written description unless I have done a commission with that for you before and I know you do written descriptions very well and are responsive with changes.
We continue from there. If I accept your commission, I will then invoice you and once paid and started, send you a sketch to be approved, and finish it once that sketch is approved. Until you approve a sketch or give feedback asking for any changes necessary and then approve the modified sketch/want any more changes, it will be counted as inactive and will not be worked on further.

Judgment by Fallen Angel / Chapter 1 - Stage Play Commission
All | Next
[Devil's Palace, Garden]
One afternoon... I was taking a walk in the garden, when I heard a cat meowing from behind a bush.
> "A stray cat…?"
Rustle… rustle…
Muu: "Meow~, meow meow~."
> "What, Muu…?"
Tumblr media
Muu: "Eh? Oh, my lord! Hehehe... I'm sorry, did you hear that?  I was practicing my "normal cat" act."
> "Acting as a normal cat...?"
Muu: "Yes! I often pretend I can't speak when I go undercover… I've been practicing to act more like a cat! Meow~
How is it, isn't it pretty good? Fufu! With these acting skills....
I could even stand on the "next stage" where the butlers are going to perform!"
> "Next stage?"
Muu: "Yes, the butlers were all talking about it earlier. Something about a nobleman… has commissioned us for a new stage performance. The four of them who are available have decided to take on the project."
> "I see"
Muu: "Yes. The butlers really do a lot of things, don't they~? Oh, right. I'm sure they are practicing by now…
If you don't mind, would you like to go see them with me? I'm a little interested!"
> "You're right, it sounds interesting"
Muu: "All right! Let's go to the dance rehearsal room!"
Muu told me that the butlers were practicing for a new play. We went to the dance rehearsal room where they were gathering.
Tumblr media
[Devil's Palace, Dance Rehearsal Room]
Berrien: "Ummm…"
Lato: "Hmm…"
Miyaji: "What should we do…"
Knock-knock… *Click*
Muu: "Hey everyone! Are you practicing hard for the play? Oh, huh…? Somehow, the atmosphere is heavier than I thought it would be…"
Berrien: "Oh, my lord... And Muu."
> "What happened?"
Berrien: "As a matter of fact... The other day, we received a commission to do a "stage performance" by a certain nobleman. We call it a performance, but.... It is kind of like an extension of the entertainment we usually show at parties."
> (Entertainment to show at parties?)
Come to think of it, when I first came to this world.... The butlers performed songs and dances at a ball where the four clans gathered.
The sight of Nac, Haures, and Fennesz dancing on stage...
I suddenly remembered about that day and felt nostalgic...
> "It was a dance before, right?"
Berrien: "Yeah."
Miyaji: "The client this time is a man who loves to watch the theater. This was before the lord arrived, but… He saw our skit at a party once and liked it very much. Well, it would have been fine if it was just that, but...
He wanted us to perform a new play at the opening of his newly built theater."
> "A new play…"
Berrien: "Yes… It's appalling.
The client is the type that seems to be artistic, radical, and enjoys controversy. And so.... He offered us these conditions.
"You must perform a new, original script about angels." "
> "Are we going to make the script ourselves?"
Miyaji: "Yeah... That's why we were in trouble.
"Devil butlers put on a play about angels."
It's obviously a dangerous bridge to cross. One wrong move and we could end up with a big problem…"
Berrien: "That said, It is difficult to refuse the commision.
The man is a member of a very influential family in Espoir and has a strong influence on the distribution of clothing in particular.
If we upset them, it'll probably be difficult for us to purchase new costumes or fabrics in the future…"
Muu: "Oh, no... Then you won't be able to get new clothes for the lord! ...And I might lose my clothes too... that's a bit of a problem…"
Lato: "Kufufu... You've become more like a butler, Mr. Black Cat."
Miyaji: "We were just discussing what kind of play we should put on. But... we couldn't come up with any good ideas. Fennesz is currently gathering materials in the library.... I wonder if there is such a thing as reference material for plays about angels…"
Just then… I heard footsteps approaching from outside the door.
Click...
Fennesz: "Sorry for the wait. I was looking in the back of the library… I lost track of time...-"
> "Fennesz?"
Fennesz: "Oh-, huh? My lord? Why are you…"
Muu: "Fufu… We came here to watch you practice for your play!"
Berrien: "Fennesz. Did you find any material that could be of help?"
Fennesz: "Uh? Oh, yes… Yes, I did. About the book on "Angels"... I've been trying to recall them from my memory, but... I thought maybe... this book would be just right."
Berrien: "What? This is…"
Miyaji: "It looks like an ancient book, and… The title is "Judgment by Fallen Angel" ?"
Fennesz: "Yeah. A long time ago, in this story by an unknown author.
'Four "fallen angels" who have awakened to their own selves... debate whether humans should be destroyed or protected.'...
It was banned soon after publication."
> "Banned…?"
Miyaji: "Hmm.... Why was it banned again?"
Fennesz: "U-uhm... Maybe it was because of the ending... It concludes with "humans should perish", I think that's what made it not good..."
Lato: "Ooh… That book sounds quite interesting."
Miyaji: "Actually... I'm surprised you have such a book, Fennesz."
Fennesz: "Ahaha... When I'm told not to read a book, it makes me want to read it..."
Lato: "Oh my. Mr. Fennesz unexpectedly misbehaves too."
Muu: "I understand that feeling very well!"
Miyaji: "I guess there are a certain number of people who like such tragic endings. But for the noblemen, it must not have been a good one."
Fennesz: "O-of course, when we adapt the novel for the stage... We make the ending to be the opposite of the novel's.
"Humans should be protected."
I'm sure the audience will be satisfied. Because we, the devil butlers... are the protectors of the human race too."
Miyaji: "I see... The audience will be watching the "argument of the fallen angels"... and conclude that "the devil butlers, after much debate, have decided that they will protect the human race." And that's the impression we can give."
Fennesz: "That's right!  I thought it would help improve our image. That's why I brought this novel...  W-what do you think?"
Miyaji: "Hmm… Yes, you've got a point. From what you just said... I don't think it's a bad idea."
Lato: "As for me… I'm a bit concerned about the original conclusion, but if Prof. Miyaji agrees, that's fine."
Fennesz: "I-I see… Okay, what about you, Mr. Berrien?"
Berrien: "Well, I... I mean… you went to the trouble of expressing your opinion on… but, I'm sorry."
Fennesz: "What…? Mr. Berrien?"

🌸 What I Offer 🌸
My primary focus is full color fantasy character art and scenes in those spaces. I love designing characters for use in fantasy spaces and the interactions they have between themselves and their environment. I especially love illustrating people of color and LGBTQIA+ characters, be those single characters or small groups.
I do my best to stay true to character body types and that is the main reason I ask for any and all references you can provide.
I do both SFW & NSFW work so keep that in mind when flipping through my portfolios.
🌸 What I Won’t Do 🌸
The obvious, no racist, homophobic, transphobic etc content is something I will not touch and outright decline.
Illegal themes as well are on the no-go list.
If you’re unsure feel free to send me a DM and we can discuss.
🌸 Commission Status 🌸
My commissions are currently open for both commercial and non-commercial projects. These slots are waitlist slots for December and January.
I open commissions on a monthly basis, 1 or 2 rush slots are available with each opening.
Current Opening: Nov 17 - Dec 25
🌸 Active Hours 🌸
My work hours are Mon - Fri between 9am to 8 pm EST. I may reply to inquiries outside these hours but I try my best not to for the sake of my mental health.
If you have an urgent work-related matter feel free to message me and I’ll do my best to get back to you.
🌸 Other Notes 🌸
This is my full-time job and my work is priced accordingly. Payment plans are available.
I have chronic fatigue and ADHD so my energy levels and focus are sporadic but I aim to have each commission completed within the 2 - 3 month time frame. Strict Deadlines will result in a rush fee.
Waitlist slots are always open, just DM me either here or on Twitter to discuss.

Alright, so
There will be very little new art for a while (I have one drawing I'm currently working on that's a cute li'l redraw of something I made a few years ago) and not very many posts unless they're queued up. I've been putting off this project for far too long and I really don't want to waste any more time.
Commissions are still open, both drawing commissions and f/o letters commissions, and I'll be checking messages every now and then too
I'll try to keep up with certain selfship/roleplay events, and I'll try to answer asks at least twice a week. Other than that, I really need to focus on this project!
Just to be clear, I'm not taking a break, I'm just putting the majority of my focus onto this project I need to work on instead of fan art and personal self ship stuff.
This won't be permanent, and my selfship art and fan works will still happen after I'm satisfied with how much work I put into this project! I'll go back and forth between my personal project and selfship/fan art.
I really hope I finish what needs to be finished, at least before the end of the year. It was supposed to be finished last year, but I was procrastinating.
I don't want to give too much away because I want it to be a surprise, but all I'm going to say is that I'm working on a comic. I won't tell you what the comic has in store just yet, but all you need to know is that it's an original comic series that'll have the same type of humor, action, fighting sequences, and suspense that my fan works have! Complete with original characters, places, planets-
And that's all the time I have right now, folks!

(No Bel will not be in this series, he's just an oc that I ship with. I think of him as an "imaginary boyfriend" pretty much! Well... Both he and Vanilla are "imaginary boyfriends" technically)

Note
I'm currently outlining a sci-fi novel. It happens on a far future where some ecological problems are appearing, but I don't want to make it a dreadful dystopian thing in the whole story, I feel like there should be room for heartwarming moments. Do you have any advice on how to balance the stress of those big and complicated problems with moments of hope and kindness without making the external conflict feel like it's not a big deal?
I'm not sure if my English is good enough, but don't worry. I'm competent in my native language for sure.
Balancing Light Moments with Darker Themes
Even The Hunger Games--a dystopian tale where a corrupt and oppressive government forces teenagers to fight to the death in a televised event--has its lighthearted moments. In fact, even in the real world, joy and humor can find its way into the most grim backdrops. This photo of some smiling London moms taking a walk after the Blitz in World War II is a great example:

So, it's important to remember that humans are capable of joy, love, and humor in the darkest of moments. The key is to find the right time for lighthearted moments and the right timing for humor. If your characters are in the middle of a magic battle that's not going well, that's probably not a good time to have one of those moments where two love interests talk at the same time and then look away bashfully. Or, another example: in a book I read ages ago, the characters were attempting a very dangerous escape from the villain. I think a character had been lost in the face-off prior to the escape, and it was very sad and scary, but as they're escaping one character stopped to admire another character's cute purse. It was so silly and out-of-place with the mood in that moment, it pulled me right out of the story. That said, to work in your lighthearted moments, mainly look for "down time" where characters are catching their breath, maybe resting or gearing up for what's to come.
Humor, on the other hand, can usually be injected even at the worst possible moment if the timing, delivery, and character are right. I think Marvel movies do this exceptionally well. This is why it's helpful to have a character who's capable of injecting a little humor and wit when it's needed.
One other way to inject a little lightheartedness into your story is to look for "silver lining" or "on the bright side" moments. These don't have to be commented on necessarily, but they can still be shown. For example, let's say your character's city was ravaged during an attack by people from another planet. Maybe in the aftermath of the battle, after people have begun to rebuild, there are vegetable gardens where crowded city streets used to be. Or, maybe a character who lost their significant other in the battle is seen getting cozy with a character who was previously single and known to be a little bit lonely.
The key with all of these is to not overdo it. Use your gut instinct to find the right moments, and the right types of moments, to lighten things up a bit.
