HELLO HELLO!!

🎶Welcome to The Mazevision 2023 event🎶

What is this about?

The mazevision song contest is a Eurovision themed maze runner event! The maze runner fandom is so wide and we have people from across the globe with so many different cultures and languages. We wanted to get people excited for Eurovision while creating new content and getting people to share a song from their country so we can all expand our musical horizons!

How can you participate?

You choose a song from your country, the song can be in English (preferable for accessibility) or in your native language (if not English). You then create a piece of maze runner content based on this song. For example a song fic, a video edit to the song, a moodboard based on certain lines and characters. It’s completely up to you!

When will mazevision 2023 happen?

Creations starting from April 1st, posting starting May 1st to lead us into Eurovision! (While the event ends on the 13th we’ll acknowledge creations up to the end of May)

Other details you should know:

nsfw content is allowed provided you tag and cover as necessary on tumblr and and ao3, nsfw content shared to tumblr should be placed under a read more

Word minimum for fics is 1k.

can‘t stop thinking about how alby went out to look for newt when he wasn’t back in time despite him being the second in command and knowing damn well it was against the rules, knowing damn well why they made those rules in the first place.

this gets even more poetically heart wrenching when you think about the fact that alby was probably among those who came up with these rules in the first place—heck, this could haven been one he came up with, for all we know.

because he knew that every glader‘s life was worth the same, that they needed to protect the few of them that there were in the first place. but well, that all went out the window when it was newt who didn’t show up, didn’t it… when it was newt he had the prospect of losing.

and in that moment, in the moment alby decided to sneak out and go look for newt, he was selfish. he needed to find newt, to at least try and find newt, because he didn’t want to be in the glade without him. he weighed his options and then opted for the one no good leader should opt for. the one where he was potentially causing the community he helped build severe loss, and even potential instability and consequent danger; 1) because his skill as second in command was needed and, more importantly, 2) if their leader saw fit to ignore rules, what was to stop a regular glader from doing the same?

so like. i just think a lot about how much exactly alby risked by going after newt. and i think you should, too.

Was I tagged in this? No. Did I see it and decide I wanted to play anyway? Yes. Thomas and Minho attend sister boarding schools that require their students to exchange letters with each other. The trick? Their pen pals are selected for them, and they're not allowed to switch or even stop writing until they graduate. It's going to be a long few years.

Thomas looked over at Chuck, who seemed as pale-faced as Newt. “Newt won’t say it,” the boy said, “so I will. If they’re not back, it means they’re dead. Minho’s too smart to get lost. Impossible. They’re dead.” Newt said nothing, and Chuck turned and walked back toward the Homestead, his head hanging low. Dead? Thomas thought. The situation had become so grave he didn’t know how to react, felt a pit of emptiness in his heart. “The shank’s right,” Newt said solemnly. “That’s why we can’t go out. We can’t afford to make things bloody worse than they already are.” He put his hand on Thomas’s shoulder, then let it slump to his side. Tears moistened Newt’s eyes, and Thomas was sure that even within the dark chamber of memories that were locked away, out of his reach, he’d never seen someone look so sad. The growing darkness of twilight was a perfect fit for how grim things felt to Thomas.
