listen as a namor whore (namwhore?) i think that he loves marking you as his like man would go nuts with the hickeys and bruises (and bite marks too). on the off chance he lets you return the favor he’s surprised by how much he loves seeing the love bites and bruises on his own godly self >:)

warnings: eighteen+ content, mentions of p in v but not shown, teasing, bites and marking, established forbidden relationship.
note: ok see i love this concept, this take, this thot!! but i fear he’s not completely into you returning the favor because for him it’d be more of a ‘i want everyone to see and be reminded who you worship to’. and i think he likes to stay looking proper to his people, but he does let you get away with bites left under the shorts!!

You were supposed to have left your room and met your mother and the council minutes ago—almost an hour ago you now see as the clock on your bedside reflects back to you in the mirror you’re standing at. Trying to right yourself back into looking presentable, kept, like you’re not running late because the man at the foot of your bed used his sweet siren song of pretty compliments, and words that had you out of your dress just as fast as his fingers had torn at the undergarments underneath it.
Leaving your balcony door open for him was seeming more and more like a curse than a blessing.
Letting him come and go as he pleased, when he cared to visit you after days of being MIA. Sometimes only noting his presence with a saltwater covered gift he’d leave at your doorway, when you’d stayed up as long as your body would allow to. As you waited to see if he would come to you; or when duties like council meetings and required dinners were demanded of you—events a Princess was supposedly meant to attend.
You’re surprised your mother hasn’t sent someone to fetch you. You expect it anytime now, ever the punctual woman your mother was. Being tardy was surely going to get you a stern look and deep questioning.
“Jats'uts,” he mumbles against your shoulder.
Beautiful.
Pretty.
Your heart soars, fingers only wavering a little as you do your best to right the necklaces adorning your neck. Your body having just been molded pudy in his hands mere seconds ago. Your thighs still sticky from having his mouth and cock between them. Your legs still feel that heady wobble from post orgasm. Your mind and body still coming off of that beautiful precipice of want and desire, of falling against his body like you couldn’t stand up straight, or function properly, without him being there to sink into—or onto on most nights.
You had told him how urgent it was that you make it to this meeting. How he needed to turn around and make his way back to his beloved ocean before someone saw him, and your mother had both of you locked away.
A threat he laughed at. A threat you knew meant nothing to someone as powerful as him; a God.
“If this were Talokan I’d make our people come to you. You’d never have to lift a finger, princess.”
Our people.
As if there were some alternate reality in which that could come to formation. Where the two of you would rule as equals and not something forbidden, and secretive.
There had been too much death and destruction on both sides, from both of your people, for either groups to be happy to be ruled by the both of you.
But the fantasy was nice to dream about—get lost in the idea of actually being able to flaunt your love instead of hiding it.
When his arm wraps around your waist your body works on instinct, on knowing the hands and warmth of the man that’s touching it. Guiding it into his chest to lean and rest against. His lips brushing at the side of your neck, mustache burning your skin.
“Or you could stay naked, spread out for me. Waiting for my return while I handled everything.”
“Mm.” You let your eyes close as you grin, “no responsibilities other than pleasing my king.”
“Precisely.” His teeth take a hold of your sensitive skin, his tongue following after the sting like a salve. Making your body tremble against him, a gasp falling from your lips. “You’d never want for anything. I would have it brought to you. Made for you. There’s nothing I wouldn’t give to you, princess.” His mouth repeats it’s actions against your neck, his hand creeping lower to the start of your thigh.
That ache between your legs quickly making a home once more at your swollen clit.
“K’uk’ulkan,” his name falls from your lips, practiced, known, worshiped—as you moan softly. As you let him suck and bite at your skin, letting his words coax you into that fantasy world you want so badly.
You don’t come back to reality until you feel his fingers start to pull up the bottom of your dress, the cool air against your damp underwear bringing you back down from that building high.
“Nononono,” you pull away from him. Untangling his arms from your body and sending him a scowl at the way he’s smirking at you. “I’m already late because of you!”
“My apologies, princess.” His hand waves towards the door, “don’t keep your people waiting any longer.”
“I won’t! You-” your quick movements stop abruptly when you see it, when the deep hue catches your eye in the mirror. And maybe it’s half your own fault for not stopping him, for once again falling victim to the hot-tease of manipulation of his beautiful words.
There’s words of anger and disbelief in the back of your throat, ready to come up and spill over at the man whose eyes are locked onto yours in the mirror. Who is still wearing that signature cool as can be expression, that you really want to slap off of him.
Your mother was going to kill you.
String you up as a pariah!
“My mother–”
“Will not be pleased, no.” He finishes for you. Steps back into that space behind you, returning his heat to your back. His thumb runs along the bruised area, eyes gleaming at his creation before flashing back to yours. “But now everyone will know you belong to someone.”
You belong to me.
Unspoken in words but not in the way he presses a kiss to the love mark, lips soft and endearingly sensual.

it’s quiet.
only the sound of the waves and the sound of the cool breeze hitting your ears envelops your senses. your body is floating above the water, sun hitting your face, eyes closed and relaxed as you let yourself float amongst depths of the sea. the water is cool against your skin, the scent of salt hits your nostrils mixing in with the freshness of the air. heaven is all you can describe at such serene calmness the water offers you this day.
as beautiful the secluded beaches are here in yucatan. you knew better to be not trespassing here. and as stupid it was to swim near night falling, the rays of the sun had turned orange among the horizon of the beautiful ocean. you knew it was time to get back to your hotel you currently resided. but here you are, water still glistening your salty skin, shorts concealing your bottom and your top the bikini you wore still damp as ever. the sun was setting, the trees swayed as you headed back to the direction of where you came from. wary of a chill on your spine erupt as if you felt like you were not alone in the secluded beach.
but as always, fate seemed to spin you to get lost in the woods.
shit. you think to yourself, the unfamiliar path dawning over to you as you sighed to yourself, trees all over your view. you knew the area well enough for the past few days and now was the time you would get lost? unbelievable. you bit your lip, trusting your gut to go further, night already taking over the once pristine blue sky. better to walk and let faith guide you to a road than to stay amongst the wild animals and insects inside the forest. you could say you’ve done one of the stupidest tourist shit you vowed not to do.
the cicadas faintly started to get louder as the darkness took over the forest. you grabbed your phone, turning on the flashlight as the leaves scrunched underneath your feet. the bushes seemed to grow larger as you gently passed by them with your arm shoving them away. expecting the familiar highway to come in view.
but you stopped, the path had ended as you were face to face with a cave of some sort. your eyes sparkled in the dark, suddenly intrigued with this new location you found. a hidden gem in these parts. you cautiously stepped closer to it, feeling as if you’ve entered someone’s territory. you lick your lips, shutting the flashlight of your phone as moonlight filled the area perfectly.
“water?” you mumbled to yourself, bending down to see the small cave was filled with water. “of course it is, dumbass.” you rolled your eyes to yourself, letting your hand touch the cool water.
it rippled beneath your fingertips as you glided your hand to feel the temperature, the scent of sea salt again fill your senses, your curiosity getting the best of you. you noticed how the deep the pool of water was, noting it might be an entrance to a underwater cave of some sort, you guessed. but you needed to go back, remembering the hotel waiting for you.
you looked around once more, guessing that this has been around here for a long time. you smiled, proud to say you would dive in here if you got the chance and the gear to do it. you stood up, brushing yourself from the dirt that sticked to your knees. you turned back and headed to the bushes again, to find another path. for a moment, you adjusted the bag you were carrying, your phone in your hand suddenly slipped from your grasp, hitting the ground with a thud. you cursed yourself for your clumsiness, bending down to grab it. the water in the cave suddenly splashing catching your attention warily.
you froze, slowly standing up, clutching your phone tight as you watch a figure came from the dark depths of the cave. the water splashed around as your heart thump loudly. seeing as a manly figure came in your sight despite the darkness. warnings in your mind erupted, remembering what you had heard of recently.
the man from the sea. a ancient god.
you distinctly remembered the words of the locals and the village elders about a man walking along the shores, feet with wings they had said. their ‘god’ walking amongst them. you don’t know much, but you feared this legend and the god as so did the people here. anything was possible nowadays. but you remained silent, studying his figure as he emerged into the moonlight. stepping in to your view, golden jewelry adorned his neck, he wore only green shorts and other accessories from his wrist to his legs. his feet, however, caught your interest seeing wings adorn them. and ears flourished with a jade like square earrings. he brushes his wet hair back, chest rising as he breathes in the air, his dark eyes finally gazed to yours.
oh, fuck.
you clutched your bag tight against your body, a shiver ran down your spine as his gaze pierced through you. you’ve trespassed. your mind shouts, your heart thumping louder.
“i’m sorry for i-intruding.” you speak up, careful for your tone to be calm and respectful. gears in your mind clicking, his face yet did not react whatsoever other than he steps forward, making you step back cautiously. he seems to notice it, sensing your own fear as he minds himself, creating a presence you knew not to anger. as stoic his expression was, his eyes seem to tell otherwise.
dangerous.
“you’re not from here.” he speaks, breaking your daze when you stare at his face. cold yet curious his tone was. knowingly now you think he’s attractive the more you study him. thoughts then circling how he just came from an underwater cave and ankles with wings on them.
“i’m not…” you nodded, gulping. “i got lost and stumbled here. n-no other intention.” you added, sensing him that he expected another answer.
“no?” he questions, stepping forward again, closer to you, making you freeze on the spot. you breathed out shakily, gazing his eyes that hold a predatory look. he towered over you, intimidating you further.
“no…” you softly said, the atmosphere almost changing, not once did you leave his gaze. a fire in the man’s gaze fueling him elsewhere.
the god stared down at this surface dweller, he hummed, trusting your answer, yet still skeptical. you were not like the other surface dwellers that he encountered coming into the entrance of the cave. you looked innocent enough, a foreigner of the area, a tourist you are. he shifts his gaze to your eyes and to your lips that softly spoke those words of reassurance. he notices your hands tremble, the cold of the night he presumed was getting to you or the fear of him. he’ll let you go, he thinks, merciful enough. the disturbance of the water merely caught his attention, he swam to it, ensuring that his nation would not be discovered.
“who are you?” you asked, astonished now for a man who’s ears you noticed are pointed. the fear slowly washing away. namor was intrigued to say, a curious thing you are.
“i have many names.” he spoke quietly, accent sharpening his words, a wonderful one you deemed as you listened to him. “my people call me k’uk’ulkan.” he gauges your face, seeing it full of wonder.
“but my enemies call me namor.” he finishes darkly, a threat. a warning set in stone. many would have run from him by now but you intrigued him further.
“namor.” you tested the name on your lips. the god felt himself shift in his place, seeing as you turn from his gaze, something stirring inside him after you uttered his name so softly.
“and you are?” he now asks, formalities thrown as you met his gaze again.
“y/n.” you uttered your name as the chill of the night shivered you so. he also tests your name in his tongue, accent enveloping each syllable smoothly with a crisp ending.
“roaming around the outskirts of the village is dangerous, máak lu'um. what has brought you here?” he speaks further, a word so unfamiliar to you. not spanish or what, which fuels your desire to learn him now.
“just took a swim by the beach.” you answered with a shrug. “it’s beautiful out the atlantic ocean.” you added as he hums, nodding.
“you’re not from here as well, are you?” you suddenly ask. he doesn’t look like the locals in the area. his outfit is as different from modern clothing, which in his case is very minimal. he cocks his head to the side as you looked back to the underwater cave. he is taken aback at your forwardness but contemplates whether he should tell you but he only offers a simple answer to your curious mind.
“yes.”
“interesting.” you quipped, examining his peculiar jewelry then to his chest, which catches you off guard how well built he is. tan pecks glistening with water, a fluttery feeling in your stomach making you feel a little flustered for checking him out shamelessly.
“you live there, i presume?” you ask, pointing to the cave. he seems to still, eyebrows tensing as you notice how defensive he is. “not that you need to answer…” you offered weakly, a little scared now.
“mhm.” he grunts, stepping pass you, not answering the question, leaving off a cold aura. he needed you away from here as soon as possible, remembering his intentions from the first place when you disturbed the waters of the entrance.
“come, it is getting late. let me escort you out, ki'ichpanech.“ pretty girl. he offers his arm out, muscle bulging out. you seem to be too trusting as you complied with the strange man with wings on his feet. not knowing how dangerous he can be, a man that has lived for more than a century, a god to his people and a king of a nation sealed from the whole world beneath the depths of the sea.
he is the feathered-serpent god.
“thank you.” you took his arm, walking beside him, arm resting with his making your heart thump. he was warm for a man who just swam in a deep underwater cavern. he smelled like the ocean itself, which was not that unpleasant, you stare at him for a time as you two walked along the woods. leaves scrunching both of your feet.
namor, on his behalf, didn’t expect he’d be talking with a surface dweller for this long nor offering to escort you out the forest. he despised all things that came from the surface world, a land that he swore to himself to hate to the bones. yet now, you who peaked his interest made his usual thinking sputter.
innocent, curious, soft, kind…all things he doesn’t expect. the feel of your skin to his fueled his desire further as he tried to suppress it. noting the way his cock twitch when your fingers brushed against his hot skin.
“are you not cold? it’s so cold out here.” you shivered, unintentionally pressing against him for warmth.
“it is…tolerable, ki'ichpanech.” he amusingly says, watching as your other arm hugged your waist for warmth. your bikini covered breasts pushing up by your arm making him swallow a lump as he looks ahead. intriguing.
“what does that mean?” you ask, glaring at him with a pout.
“ki'ichpanech?” the ancient language rolls on his tongue flawlessly.
“yes.” you looked back to him seeing as the familiar sounds of faint chatter filled your ears. the village must be close.
“a compliment, le paalo’.” he simply explains. “one for you to find out for yourself.” he smirks, making you sigh beside him.
only silence fills the void between you two, an unspoken comfort that had the man beside you wonders how calm you are. being escorted by a man who you just met. he wonders how your pretty little mind works
“you said you have many names.” you started. “what do you prefer to be called?”
“it is up to you what you wish to call me.”
“k’uk’ulkan then?” you uttered, wishing you didn’t butcher the pronunciation. “you said your people call you by that.”
“je’el.” he agrees, which you take it as a yes. a silence transpired again, but it doesn’t take long before your own curiosity gets the best of you. asking him questions now out of the blue, all subjects leading how he swam inside of a underwater cave without any gear and the most asked about his ankles with wings.
namor seemed to tolerate your mind, offering vague answers and none about questions where he resided or came from. he offers you to teach the mayan words he answers along the way, resulting you to ask him if he always knew how to speak english fluently. in return, he asks you as well. you gladly tell him about vacationing alone in mexico, saying that you needed some time away from the work you had back home. and that you just wanted a moment of peace to yourself here by the beaches. exploring, learning about the locals and their culture respectfully.
but in all fashion, it had to end.
which broke your heart slightly when the sound of the locals grew louder. lights from their village enveloping your view as you two arrive in a secluded area wherein the familiar dirt road is.
“you are a strange woman with curious questions.” he begins as you step out of the bushes, facing him with a slight frown.
“says the man who has wings on his feet.” you quip back playfully. he smirks at that, eyes alert as he looks back to see the locals. your heart thumps, wishing for him to come with you. but in his eyes you knew it wasn’t possible even if he didn’t necessarily say it out loud. you just knew.
“speak of this to no one, ki’ichpanech.” he utters, you nodded at this. the situation weird enough for you to obey.
“will i see you again?” you ask gently, hope in your tone. namor feels something stir inside him as he licks his lips, stepping forward as he brings your hand up to his lips, kissing it softly. soft delicate skin. he thinks, a fire set alight to the both of you as his piercing gaze never faltered as your chest rose at the sudden electric feeling.
the hand kiss was a gesture of his growing affection towards you which he fears may not stop. you should be cowering away from him, a man who’s hands are stained with blood for hundreds of years. he shouldn’t even be talking with a surface dweller at all and you shouldn’t see him again, but…
“dejaremos ti' le destino decida.” he only offers those unfamiliar words to you with sincerity. you drew your hand back, not asking anything further as he steps back into the forest, eyes still looking into yours. a series of laughter interrupts the two of you as you look away from for a moment seeing the villagers laughing amongst themselves. you look back to the bushes, only to find that he’s gone.
huh.
you only stood quiet, the scent of sea salt lingering, his warmth you realized you missed. the night grew colder as you think to yourself with a cheeky thought in mind.
you’ll meet him again.
•••
and you did.
countless of times now after a couple of days had passed. the next morning of that faithful night lead you to go back to the same spot you met him, toying with the water, disturbing it when he was already behind you at that time. in which namor wouldn’t say he has been keeping an eye on you whenever you visited the beach again. you were thrilled, greeting him with your smile. he seemed a bit reluctant meeting you again, telling you that you should not be talking with him. you countered back, asking why then he appears before you when he could’ve ignored her. he smiles at that, offering you a chuckle for the first time. his smile catching you off-guard.
“you intrigue me so, ki'ichpanech.” he would say as you two walk along the shores, talking, asking more about him. he tells stories you never had heard of, legends and so.
“you like it.” you’d tease with a grin. he doesn’t affirm but he does agree in the inside.
your growing friendship with the god only grew larger when the days passed and each day he reminded you to never speak about this strange relation you had with him. you only had weeks left before going back home. a month vacation in yucatán was slowly nearing it’s end and you feared you may not get to see your mysterious friend ever again. you had to cherish the weeks left in counting.
and the subtle attraction you were feeling was growing larger.
he showed you the vast hidden wonders the beach hid as he took you for a swim. the corals, the tide pools, even in the deepest parts of the sea. it was so fascinating to you to see him swim so freely, like it was just a normal thing for him. you had already known that he is not human from the first time you met him. further, he only describes himself as a mutant, the story of his mother and how the first of his people came to be. the talokanil.
“my mother mourned to return to the land wherein she once lived.” he speaks, the waves crashing, you two sitting beside each other on the soft white sands of the shore. watching the sunset over the horizon, a beautiful sight to always see. intimate it felt.
“she was human you had said?”
“je’el. she made me a promise to bury her in the soil of her homeland.” you watch carefully how his eyes catch a glimpse of longing. “but nothing could prepare me for what i found.”
a chill ran down your spine seeing his expression drop into the most chilling hatred you could ever seen from a man. the slavery, those spanish men, the corruption of colonialism that had fallen amongst the surface world. wars broke out, diseases everywhere, more and more tragedies you guessed he would have witnessed for living for 500 years. you were somewhat touch to know how he’s opened up to this, to you.
“there’s nothing that would change how us humans would still be.” you began, sympathizing with him and knowing his hatred for the surface world. “humans are greedy. power is their desire, their lust. the world up here is fucked up.” you chuckled airily, staring off to the ocean.
“you seem to harbor the same resentment to your own world, ki'ichpanech.” he says as you shrugged at it.
“the world is too corrupted nowadays.” you rolled your eyes. “work is work, you work then you die. money is in my head always back home. so yeah, i do hate it up here.”
“you desire to be elsewhere? is it why you are here with me?” he grins as you scoffed at him even though it was true as the blush evident on your face was enough evidence. he has been shamelessly kinda flirting with you over the past days—
…you like him, a lot. it was no surprise you had catch feelings for the man. you learned he is kind and somewhat warm underneath the defensive and cold exterior he had put up when you two first met. he longed for his nation to be free from the terrors of waiting for anyone who’d try to discover them.
“you were a nice surprise to me.” you smiled gently. “but yes, it’s a nice escape here out from the city. even though i hate it here, it quite beautiful to live in.”
“in na'atik.” he hums, intrigued to say how one surface dweller could speak so ill about their own home. his resentment towards the surface world was still growing in him. humans are greedy like you had said, but you, out of all the surface dwellers that had tried to come near him or his nation, you merely just stood before him that night. astonished at him, wonders in your colored irises that held a compassionate understanding for him. he feels his chest swell and throat constrict. that same mushy and fluttery feeling that arose to heat his cheeks and the tip of his ears. overwhelming yet so addicting to feel.
what were you doing with him?
namor only watches you as you stare off to the ocean. he wants to picture this moment in his mind, a mural he now wants to paint for you. a story for you, your curious questions about him and your smile that was like the most beautiful pearls of talokan. he doesn’t want to admit it, nor shall he want to think about it now. dangerous it can be, he only hopes that this would last quicker for the sake of both of your hearts. and for his purposely knowing all would might end in tragedy if he is to act on this.
but he is wrong.
•••
another set of days had passed and tomorrow, that you dreaded, you’ll be going back home. it seemed like time had passed by faster than you expected. you stand alone again by the beach, this time a mesh white scarf wrapped around your arms as you take in the sea breeze again, savoring the moment. namor had wanted to see you again as usual, you knew he was either walking along the shore or might emerge from the sea, waiting for you.
but now he was walking towards you, expecting your bright greeting yet he only found you staring at the horizon again.
“ki'ichpanech?” he starts, softly calling for you. the waves crashes again as your sundress swayed with wind. you met his gaze, snapping out of your thoughts as you composed yourself before the god.
“k’uk’ulkan.” you face him, a little surprised but you smiled at him still. namor watches your serene smile do not go up your eyes. he knows already, you could tell. he always could tell how you were feeling.
“ba'ax úuch?” he asks, enough for you to understand as he stands in-front of you, softening his gaze as you glanced back to the sea, sighing deeply.
“i’m leaving tomorrow.” you finally said, seeing as his expression still as those words he dreaded as well came from your mouth. it’s too soon, he had plans to—
“tomorrow?”
“in the morning.” you confirmed, your heart breaking seeing his stoic expression falter. “to be honest, i don’t want to go.”
“then don’t.” he says, every patience in his body wearing just for him to spew out anything for you to not leave. all his walls he build up for the first time for you already was gone, he accepted it that he wanted you by his side even if you don’t know fully of his true feelings. he had to at least say something before this could all end.
“i can’t.” you shakily said, an overwhelming feeling overcoming you. you didn’t want to leave this place, you didn’t want to leave him yet. “besides, whether i like it or not, i’ll be forced back home.”
you gripped the chiffon scarf, knuckles baring white as namor didn’t know what else to say. every signal in his mind told him many ways he could make you stay but he knows either way you’d be gone. and that this whole relationship you have with him is going to end even if it just had started.
“come with me.” he finally lets it out as he grabs your hand to his. “i wanted to show you something.”
“you have a gift for me?” you teased as his fingers interlocked with yours. he merely chuckles making your heart thump, alongside the feel of his calloused warm hand fits perfectly to yours. you know there’s this silent crave, a want between you two. you never acted this strange tension with him. you always thought he only tolerates you at how adamant you are seeing him, but now… you’re not sure.
“jach asab u jump'éel siibal.” he says, guiding you back to the forest, the familiar path to the underwater cave. “i want you to see a glimpse of my home.”
“k’uk’ulkan.” you scolded, brows knitting as you followed him, letting him guide you. “you had said that your nation is something to be kept away from the surface world. i am apart of that.”
“it is not necessarily talokan yet, ki'ichpanech.” he counters as you two step to see the familiar structure. he ushers you to stand by him in the pool of water but you stop,.
“i don’t want to risk this.” you argued, seeing as he contemplated at that. he was holding back something he’s been harboring, you sighed as you step back, hand letting go of his as he stands in the water. a feeling of deja vu erupted inside you. he looked absolutely the same the night you met him. just that his defensive posture were now soft and relaxed as he gently smiles at you.
“one last night, ki’ichpanech.” namor held his hand out again. “and we will forget all of this in the morning and continue on with our separate lives.”
“but that’s not all, is it?”
namor tenses, he doesn’t really know if a tinge of fear had finally come to him. you can see pass through him, every knit of his brow or clench on his jaw. and he can see you hesitate— you want this, he can tell. every grip of your mesh scarf, the furrow of your brows, the sadness and eagerness in your eyes. you awaited for an answer as he nods.
“come with me.” he steps closer, water splashing, moonlight dawning over you two. “you had said you hated to go back to your home then stay. stay with me.”
he gently brought your hand to his chest as he stared into your eyes. like a trance he is how serene you are underneath the moonlight. your face softening with realization that he’s asking you to live with him. to stay by him forever. you could feel the thump of his heart underneath his skin, he intimately pressed his forehead against yours, never leaving your sight. you didn’t know what to say but just let him continue.
“this does not happen so often. and i fear it will never stop. ka ma' in k'áat ka u detenga.” he whispers, lips brushing against yours, he is holding himself back not to rapture you here and now. sparks flew when you felt it, his other hand situated on your hip. a raw sensation you had now felt for him.
“what about my own life here?”
“i am not so cruel to not give you a choice, ki’ichpanech. but yes, i cannot risk you going back home for my nation if you were to choose to come with me.” you nodded at his words, understanding him. and now you gambled with the possibilities as namor waited patiently for your answer. your mind gambled with the possibilities, you’d leave everything behind.
“and if i chose to leave now?”
“then we will part ways and forget all of this.” he offers a small smile, concealing the pang in his chest.
“why me?” you quietly asked, the words he offered sinking in your mind.
“is it not obvious?” his nose brushed against the tip of yours, heat in his tone. “in ts'íiboltikech.”
a shuddery breath exhales through your lips. his warmth and his closeness should have been the answers but you could not imagine for a god— someone who’s deemed as a god to be wanting you. namor’s patience was wearing thin, if you chose to leave, he’ll gladly accept that, but he somehow hopes for the other one. your eyes shined, his heart thumped as your lips opened—
“in ts'íiboltikech.” you repeated his words as his irises darken, a grin forming as he gladly pulled you closer to him, the cool water splashing around the two of you. the cicadas quieting down, two hearts beating as one.
“ma'alob.” he whispers darkly, sending a shiver down your spine. those words of confirmation had him surging to capture your lips to his. he waited long enough, every night, every morning he thought of you. you were a plague in his mind, corrupting him to think of the most sinful things and the ones he yearned in his own thoughts.
and your lips were sweet, sweeter than the fruits he ever tasted in his life, and he wonders in the back of his mind if your cunt would taste sweeter. making his cock twitch at the thought.
you let out a tiny gasp, wrapping your arms around his neck, the chiffon scarf dropping to the ground. the built up tension between the two of you finally at it’s peak, sizzling down as he moved his lips slowly on yours. slow and passionate, wanting to savor it. your cheeks bloomed with heat when you felt the outline of his prick press against your stomach, hard and hot. catching you by surprised at how particularly needy he felt. but you were as well, absently rubbing your thighs against each other.
he pulls away, breathless making let out a tiny whine. “ko'ox.” he smirks, guiding you deeper in the water, your sundress getting wet but you didn’t care about that. only focused on the man who gently puts something on your face. you look at him questionably, he was holding up a mask of something.
“the dive is deep.” he explains, as he locks the mask in, ushering you gently with adoration in his eyes as you inhaled deeply, following his command.
“breathe, in yakunaj.”
•••
“amazing.” you uttered, staring up to the ceiling of the cave. glowworms were hanging by the stalactites. it emitted this soft blue hue while the sound of the waters of the cave joined in the beautiful scenery. your heart bloomed, you could almost forget about your own home by now. but a tinge of hesitance caused you to overthink this. was it right to leave everything behind? you questioned yourself, standing by the edge, close to the water.
how quick you are to throw everything away.
you bit your bottom lip, nervous you are, wondering if anyone back at the place you called home would question where you are in the following days— months even. you sighed to yourself, pushing it all away in the very back of your mind. you’d worry about that in a more appropriate time. but now here you are, feeling flushed remembering his lips, all thoughts away but just him.
“jats'uts.” his voice echoed, you jumped a bit in surprise as you turned to face him. the beads on your dress rattled, your cheeks glowed as namor went beside you. his eyes draped along your body, the traditional dress he provided for you after your sundress had been absolutely damped was an exquisite sight before him.
“beautiful.” he translated, dark eyes meeting yours. he steps closer, seeing your small shy smile. “the dress suits you so.” he grins.
“thank you for this.” you gestured to the beautiful dress, letting yourself be drawn in his beady orbs as you neared him, letting his hand slip to yours again.
“has this place always been your sanctuary?” you quietly asked as you two walked towards the hut he showed you a while ago that was filled with his murals. you were amazed to see how he had depicted his and his people lives on the wall by the stroke of his brush. the story of how the first talokanil came to be and so fort.
“yes. a place where i can be in solitude.” he nods and leads you inside, never leaving your side.
“and from here, talokan is just down below?” you looked around the room, stopping to admire the big mural on the wall.
“deep below, ki'ichpanech.” he responds, standing beside you, holding something in his hand. your eyes caught the glimpse of a beautiful ornament.
“this is beautiful.” you blurt out, looking to him for approval to touch it as he merely smiled.
“it was my mother’s.” he explains as you touched the beads gently, admiring how pretty it is.
“you said it was made for her before she turned talokanil?” namor nodded, liking the way you remembered his stories.
“as my first gift, i want you to have this.” he grasps your wrists making your heart burst. “a token for my affection.”
“you’ve given me enough. i feel like i should give you something in return.” you pouted as he ties the bracelet on your wrist, ignoring your furrowed look as he kisses you softly before you could protest more. you hummed between his lips, shutting up quickly as you eagerly reciprocated.
“it is not enough.” he says, squeezing the side of your waist. “you’ve already given something in return, in yakunaj. your presence here in my home is enough.”
“but—“
his lips descended down to kiss your jaw, peppering down to your neck. inhaling your scent as he nips at your neck. pressing you harder against him, bulge brushing again on your stomach as you craned your neck to feel him sigh blissfully before he sucked and nipped, intent to make you feel mushy in his arms.
“k’uk’ulkan.” you whined as he chuckles.
“your body reacts so eagerly.” he whispers. “have you been waiting for me to touch you like this, ki’ichpanech?” you couldn’t respond but nod lightly, the warmth of his overwhelming. your lips are sealed from embarrassment how right he is. the scruff of his beard tickles you so as he bites a bit harder making you grip his shawl. the only item of clothing you noticed he wore after countless times you had seen him in those green shorts.
“t'aan.” he commands, hands descending down to grasp your ass harshly. you squealed as he hoists you up, legs automatically wrapping around his waist. hands on his broad shoulders as he guides both of you to the bed in his hut. your back hitting the bed, him towering over you. you could see the feral look in his eyes as you can’t help but obey him.
“je’el.” you whimpered as he slants his mouth to yours again, eating you up. he can’t help but smile at how his language rolls off your lips, his mayan lessons paying off to you. your soft hands cupped his cheek, fueling the desire. his hand descends down to caress your thigh, rubbing gently before your dress pools to your stomach, lower half exposed to the cold air. namor could feel the heat he yearned as his fingertips gently brushed against your exposed cunt. you bare underneath the dress he provided, his aching cock wishing to come out.
“táan jach mojado, wáaj tuláakal ti' teen?” namor pressed his fingertip gently on your aching nub. you gasped, back arching, eyes slightly widening how the two of you are now doing this—
“please.” you begged as he only applied pressure, no rubbing or whatsoever, he seemed so smug as he had you this desperate. he shifts from his place, shrugging off his royal shawl, dropping it to the floor as he removes anything that might get into his way as he opens your legs, looking up for your consent as your eyes meet his.
“please.” you affirm again as he gingerly kisses the top of your knee.
he doesn’t know what fucking ambrosia fills his scent but the sight of your bare glistening cunt makes his whole body react accordingly. he descends down, kissing your knee before resting comfortably to kiss your inner thigh, the scent of your arousal tingling him.
“perfect.” he groans, can’t help but kiss your aching clit. licking his lips as your hands laced through his dark locks as he laps away like a starved man. you moan out, his tongue working wonders. you could not believe how eager he is to eat your cunt up like it’s his last meal. every flick, lick, kiss and suck, all over again and again making your thighs clamp hard around his head.
you fear you might suffocate him with your own cunt but you remembered the man literally breathes in water. namor could do this all day, he thinks, growling at how fucking tart your nectar is— how fucking dripping it is for him— only him.
namor melts between your thighs, in dazed and drunk. the sound of your muffled moans as the plush heat of your thighs at either sides of his face had him groaning. he sucks harsher, feeling your hips stutter as he puts his arm on top of your stomach to hold you in place. never stopping his feast, the more he licked and lapped, the more you begged with his name. his other hand could not help but slide down to his, gripping his clothed bulge, a shiver ran down his spine at the pressure that he could not take anymore.
“k’uk’ulkan…” you repeated, feeling your stomach coil in the pressure of his sinful mouth and tongue. he hums, pulling back, sitting up as his lips glistened with your arousal, fueling your desire as you whined. he palms himself, still staring down at you as you stared at the prize just under his hand. you carefully sat up, all thoughts seemingly trashed in your fucked-out mind. namor’s chest rose as he breathes in how angelic you are crawling towards him, your face dazed out and mouth glistening with your own saliva, hungry.
“what do you want, my love?” he asks as he grins making you momentarily look up to meet his eyes. you didn’t say anything as you pressed your lips to his bare stomach, making him shudder as his abs flexed the moment your soft lips touched his heated skin, the grip on his clothed cock tightened as you trailed down to meet his happy trail.
vixen. he surpasses the urge to call you that out loud, not when your hand is now shoving his hand away from his cock. he lets you do whatever you want with him, anticipation in his blood as your fingers curled in the hem of his shorts. ready for you to pull it down but you stopped for a moment as you stared up to him again, a plead in your gaze.
“can i?” you ask quietly.
something inside him breaks hearing your soft voice ask for his permission. he lets out a breath, hand coming up to caress your cheek as you nuzzled against his palm, waiting for his answer.
“je’el.” he nods, his words coming out in a slight tremble. he could feel himself succumb to the thought of you doing anything with him— everything in fact. you grin suddenly, breaking the eye contact as you pulled his shorts down completely, him helping you get it off as you tossed it to the ground.
namor groaned as his cock bounced up slightly, the cool air making him bite his lower lip as you gawked at it. you were speechless, taken aback, not expecting that it would be— that girthy in size. you gulped, remembering the countless times you would glance at his bulge whenever you two were either swimming in the sea or walking along the shore, it was something you couldn’t help but feel dirty for imagining what he truly looks like down their.
but now you’ve seen everything.
“you can take it, no?” he suddenly quips making you grumble in determination as you lulled yourself back from staring at his shaft. you wrapped your hand around his base making the said man shut up as he sighs out.
“i can.” you mumbled, totally not intimidated by his fucking length and girth overall. you pumped him slowly, right amount of pressure seeing the tip leak out a bit. wondering how you are making a said ‘god’ now weak on his knees, hearing little huffs come from his mouth but still looking so composed. you admired how reserved he looks as you dart your tongue out to lick the fat head.
“mierda—“ he grumbles, a hand gripping the back of your head as the other fumbled with your breast and whatever skin he can reach as he stays still watching you finally engulf him slowly. your mouth stretched accommodating his size as you hummed, liking the way he taste and maybe a tiny bit saltier— you were not complaining though.
“look at you.” he speaks with adoration, admiring the way you started to suck him off, letting him in deeper inside of your hot cavern inch by inch you can take. the way you are on your knees for him, glancing at him from time to time as you meet his hungry eyes. he resists the urge to fuck your mouth, savoring how determined you are to make him feel the same pleasure as he did on you. you were serious to making him feel good, bobbing your head up and down as your other hand gripped his base, pumping him where your mouth can’t reach. your eyes watered as the tip hit the back of your throat, making you gag a bit as you pulled him out, panting.
the string of saliva appeared as you licked your lips, kissing the tip again as you gently put him in your mouth again. namor hissed feeling the coil in his stomach almost snap. you continued on with your pace, liking the way you could hear his labored breaths and little groans, making you smile a bit as the salty taste of him had you addicted.
this is torture. namor thinks as he lets you suck him off for a bit before abruptly pulling himself out of your mouth, making you whine. he chuckles seeing your expression before he captured your lips again, tasting himself as he pushed you to lay back on the bed. you reciprocated with eagerness as you opened your legs for him to slant himself there, cock grazing your cunt making you let out a low moan in his mouth. namor swallows those pretty sounds of yours before pulling away as he pressed his forehead against yours. a knowing look in his eyes as you waited for him to speak first.
“can i?” he finally asks, grinding himself on your cunt. you whimpered, looking down to see how desperate he is before looking back to his eyes.
“please.” you muttered, cupping his cheeks as shuffles in his place. his hand reaching down to grasp himself, positioning his head to rub against your entrance as you cursed at the wet feeling.
“k’uk’ulkan…” you mewled, anticipating he’d ram himself inside of you this instant but he’s patient as ever as he rubs the fat bulb of his head on your clit, gathering enough slick before finally pushing in slowly. making your back arch at the intrusion as your hands fly down to grasp his broad shoulders.
“is it too much?” he suddenly asks, concerned, watching you carefully. you smiled at his concerns as you kissed the tip of his nose.
“it’s perfect.” you whispered, clenching around him to signal him to get on with it. namor growls as he does what you want, bottoming out in you as deep as he can go. he stills for the moment, you two immersed at the feeling of each other. a sort of fuzzy feeling of something special how connected you two are. gentle caresses and kisses of encouragement exchanged between the two of you as he finally gives an experimental thrust.
“perfecto.” he sighs, kissing you again as you grinned. namor grinds into you slowly at first, feeling the way your walls clench around him as he hits a spot. he leaves kisses on your face, marks on your neck, whispers of undying loving words how you make him feel so good. you merely moan out his name as he starts to pick up a good pace that has you desperate on him.
“jach jats'uts yáanal tin.” he pants, hand caressing you everywhere as he stares at your blissed out face. each hard snap of his hips making your body bounce at the intensity. the lewd wet slapping adding in as heat and sweat enveloped you two. you whimpered at how his cock was hitting that spot making your hips wiggle and back arch. it felt so sticky yet so good at how he’s so passionate about this.
absolutely perfect. your mind screams as you wrap your arms around his torso, grasping his back as he fucks you with vigor. your whines like a sirens song to his ears, he rests his lips on your forehead as he pounds into you. feeling himself on the verge as you clenched around him tightly as ever, a signal to him that you were also cumming. namor kisses every inch of your face before swallowing up your moans you were about to cum. your heart pounded in synch with his as he desperately fucked into you. you gasped loudly, gripping his skin, nails digging, body convulsing with pleasure as his thrusts became sloppier, pounding in through your orgasm.
“ki’ichpanech…” namor practically breaths out your name next, eyes shutting for a moment as he feels him release. one, two, three powerful thrusts sends him home as he almost rips the beddings apart above your head. blood rushes to your ears as the intensity stops. he slumps a bit, laying his weight on your body but not too much, fearing you’d be crushed. both your breaths only to be heard as it fills the silence of the room.
everything slows down the moment when his eyes flutter open to meet yours. the exact same eyes he had first met in the moonlight. your heart soars to see him soften as you kissed him gently, soft and pillowy it felt, something slow after that. your hand instinctively brushes the stray hair from his forehead, sweat beading there. he plants more kisses again on your face as you giggled, only gasping as he removes himself abruptly. there are so many things you wanted to say to him in those moment but all are left unsaid when he laces your hands together. a glint in his eyes, all you adore.
“stay with me, ki’ichpanech.” he says, as if you would leave him. you can’t help but nod quickly as ever like you did when he asked you to go with him here. you knew what you were in for and you were sure for it, knowing your heart won’t stop beating so loudly when he smiles now as you mutter a verbal confirmation out, concealing it. the glimpse of his mother’s bracelet on your wrist a wonderful glimpse of a future.
“i will.”

Companion
Fandom: MCU Characters/Pairings: Namor x female!Reader Word Count: 3.3k Summary: A month after the king of Talokan takes you as his betrothed, you question your position and the future as your expectations have been disappointed.
Content Warnings: angst to some relationship resolution, EXPLICIT SMUT (oral-female receiving, fingering), strong language
Additional Notes: This is a direct sequel to Consort - and while there's probably enough context to read this on its own, it will mean far less without reading the first part - the first part that could really be blamed by @nellycanwrite and being a TALENTED ARTIST AND MENACE. We would not be here if not for a particular piece she shared an unfinished sneak peak of last December.
Tumblr media
You are restless, agitated, feeling completely unmoored.
Sleep is not going to come to you soon. It hadn’t the past few nights, but tonight you are not going to give yourself over to endless tossing and turning or trying to read yourself to distraction. You are exhausted, but too strung out to find any respite in your room. You quietly slip out of your chambers and begin to wander.
When you eventually find yourself in the throne room, you laugh bitterly to yourself. Naturally this is where your subconscious would take you. This is where your life completely altered course a month ago, betrayed and traded at your father’s hand for peace amongst kingdoms, the tectonic plates of your life not only shifted but shattered.
Only to be picked up by him moments later.
You look out over the expanse of the drop off from the perimeter of the throne room. The view out over Talokan is stunning in the simulated vibranium moonlight, but you resent the view. It’s one more painful piece of your new reality – as beautiful as this kingdom is, it’s still not the picturesque view of Fourchon and your former life in the kingdom of your upbringing.
You squeeze your eyes shut for a few moments, trying to control the anger and sadness.
When the traitorous trade had been made, you thought your father had sealed your fate as a token consultant at best or prisoner at worst, but K’uk’ulkan had spun a different narrative, one where the potential that would have been wasted in your former kingdom was something he saw and wanted at his side as his queen consort. His words had been a balm to your soul, and you had believed him when he said he’d wanted you – to take into counsel, to serve the kingdom, to influence. It was a lifeline offered, and you’d grasped that tether, letting him pull you in. He’d started to put you back together with promises and sealed it with a moment of intimate bliss beyond anything you could have imagined.
Then it was almost as if you’d been banished from his presence. At first you had accepted the explanations of business that needed his attention in other parts of the kingdom and other realms or that his schedule had demanded unanticipated changes, rarely getting to take meals with him, culminating no contact at all for the last two weeks.
You didn’t know it was going to be that way in the beginning though, so you’d spent your month acclimatizing and throwing yourself into life in Talokan. He’d said you were built to rule, driven to do good, why not with him, and since you’d thought he was telling you the truth, you had made the effort to get to know the people, know their culture, know their lives, their struggles, hopes, and dreams. It was intimidating at first – they were a fierce people brought up to be ready for war – but they also created and forged happiness, and you wanted to prove yourself. Before long, you forgot the nerves and tucked away the feeling of being an imposter, because you created relationships, took up projects, and started to create a new routine in your life that meant something to you.
You think the life you are building in this new kingdom is good except for the one perhaps most important thing.
Tomorrow you are supposed to wed the ruler of this kingdom, and you felt that was now a hollow artifice. The final fitting for your wedding clothes today had felt frivolous and futile. How could you be expected to marry K’ul’kulkan with the distance, the disinterest?
You roll your shoulders back and lift your head up, refocusing your gaze out over this new place.
You will wed Namor with the same resolve that had held you together in the initial moments your life had been traded for an alliance – you would always be duty and honor bound. A foolish glimmer of a passionate partnership was more than you had expected growing up, it had been dangled in front of you for a moment but had quickly dwindled and ultimately disappeared. A political arrangement, and if the past few weeks were indicative of the future, then the only consolation was it seemed Namor would at least let you make your own choices and wouldn’t interfere with the projects you pursued, things you knew you could leverage for good with your position of power in his kingdom.
You only wish you hadn’t been given a glimmer of what might have been. It would have been much easier to manage without the taste of more.
“When you were not in your chambers, I thought I might find you here.”
You turn slowly, forcing your face to give away nothing of your shock or your resentment to the king.
“I was looking for you,” he says, crossing the large expanse of the space.
“Really, your highness?”
“Certainly. Tomorrow you are to become my bride.” He stops an arm’s length away from you.
You can’t help the hardening of your features you feel at this proclamation. “I’m amazed you remembered.”
He tilts his head. “Do not be petulant, Princess.”
“The picture you painted a month ago has not been the reality.”
“What complaint can you possibly have to give?”
“You lied to me,” you let your anger finally spill out in your tone. “With my life shattered to pieces in this very room, you started to put me back together by saying you said you wanted me as your queen consort, not just a wife to adorn your arm and give you an heir, a companion.” You take half a step closer to him. “But where have you been these weeks, especially this fortnight? You left the broken pieces of me on a shelf, discarded and forgotten.”
“Make no mistake,” Namor says and grips your chin, pulling you closer, “you are not forgotten.”
Your eyes are locked on each other now, and it seems you are each trying to delve into the soul of the other. He presses his thumb to your bottom lip, opening your mouth. The action is not rough in any way, but it serves to communicate his strength, your vulnerability, and that he could subject you to anything. “You are mine, Princess.”
Then suddenly he wraps an arm around your waist and pulls you into his side before swimming swiftly into the jaws of his throne. He sets you aright and the two of you stand face to face.
“I sought you out tonight to remind you of what we spoke of that day on this very spot. Clearly you did not need a reminder, but perhaps insight into my choices. At present you think me rash and negligent or easily distracted to become betrothed to a stranger in a matter of moments and then seemingly abandon you.
“My offer of marriage was swift but not rash. I told you that day the things I had already learned about you, and the time we spent together showed even more clearly who you were. I have lived and ruled for hundreds of years, I know well how to read a person’s character, and the interaction we shared in those brief moments confirmed you had a fierce and noble spirit with both a compassion to sacrifice for your people and passion to match my own.”
Part of your chest starts to swell, but you dampen it down. He built you up with his words once before, and you are cautious not to get carried away so easily.
“That does not explain why you distanced yourself from me.” You needed more than flattery for your character.
“I am not easily surprised, but I confess I did not expect to be presented with the offer your father made. If you were to become the companion I wanted to see at my side, I knew I could not be the one to put you back together. I wanted the future queen that only you could forge by getting to know my kingdom, my people, our way of life, and integrating yourself into Talokan in your own right. Building your own reputation amongst them these past weeks, they see you are not merely a foreign princess acquired for an alliance, they will accept you as their queen because they know you. You have conquered them with your heart, your goodness, your passion, your sharp mind.”
He pauses to search your face. His words have both softened and strengthened you.
“I did not want to influence or distract in any of that.”
You nod, considering every word, not ready to respond yet.
“Now I did have certain things to attend to, some of which you will know very soon, but I confess I did limit and ultimately withhold the time we could have spent together.”
You open your mouth to argue this point, but he chuckles and shushes you.
“The more time I spent with you – scant as it was – and the more reports that came in from my advisors, my people, even your guards and the servants that attend you – yes, I spoke with them regularly – the more I did not want to share you with anyone else. Since I did not want to rob you of the unique and limited time to integrate into Talokan during our engagement, I cut myself off altogether.”
Your mouth hangs open at this rationalization, your brow furrowing further and further as he had explained his absence. But you do gather your wits, and challenge, “You avoided spending time together because you wanted to spend time with me?”
His smirk is nearly a smolder. “Once we are wed, I’m not sharing your time with anyone until I have to, and we will only spend our days apart as is strictly necessary when we resume royal duties after the honeymoon.”
Oh, he is good with that tongue, you think.
“Tomorrow, I will have you in every way, but for now I want to worship at the altar of what will be mine.”
He seizes your neck and pulls you in for a kiss. The heat is searing, and your lips demand equally of each other. He nips and you whimper, allowing him to plunge his tongue into your mouth. He is hungry for you, and you can’t deny him now.
With one hand still holding your neck and the other now at your shoulder, he moves so the back of your knees meet the edge of the throne, and he slowly pushes you down to sit, stepping between your legs. You look up at him, and you move a hand to his hip.
“Not tonight, my princess,” he says, his eyes dark with lust. “I can wait. I have an atonement and assurance to make of the sincerity of my intentions.”
You’re entranced as he kneels before you. The hand that was on your neck moves down over one of your breasts, along your ribs, and then grabs your hip, pulling you to the edge of the seat. You clutch the stone arms of the throne as his other hand goes beneath your nightdress, finding your knee, and pushes the fabric out of the way as he moves his hand diligently up your soft thigh. When that hand finishes its journey, he tears your underwear away, making you yelp and grasp at the hand he still has on your hip. You know he has preternatural strength, but to experience it, know it’s there in his veins at every moment, and that he must meticulously measure it out is terrifying yet intoxicating.
Much like he is in every sense.
He draws one of your legs over his shoulder and turns his head to press his warm lips to your tender flesh. Slow kisses. Deliberate. Your heart races. You’re desperate with anticipation but the exquisite torture is its own bliss. “Namor,” you plead.
He bites in punishment, and you cry out.
“That is not the name I told you to use,” he says, his voice even but stern. “I will not have you speak the name relegated to my enemies when you have me like this.”
No. Because this is the two of you, intimate. You needed to let him back in. You want to let him back in. “K’uk’ulkan,” you let it fall from your lips.
It draws a small genuine smile that softens this powerful man and warms you even more. He soothes the bite with another kiss, but then the next place his lips land is directly over your core. Your head falls back, and you utter his name again, unbidden as bliss shoots through your body. He is in no hurry as he begins mouthing at your most intimate parts. He warms you up with slow, methodical licks of his broad tongue. He gently draws your nether lips into his mouth, sucking and savoring. Your leg curls around his back as your body surrenders to him. He adjusts the hand over your hip to entwine his fingers with yours, anchoring you to each other while he continues to draw out your pleasure. He pulls back with a long suck, then he dives back in, leading with his nose, following it with another lick behind. When he reaches your clit, he circles it with the tip of his nose, gives a quick flick with his tongue, and then he puckers his lips to suck just the little bead with precision and concentrated force.
Little whimpers, whines, and longer moans fall from your mouth with abandon, and the thought that someone could hear you, could perhaps see this, is a fleeting fear and thrill before he resumes sucking and gliding along your folds, and you discard any worry because you can’t concentrate on anything but his exquisite actions. The king of Talokan is on his knees, continuing to plunder you on his throne. Your free hand threads into his dark hair, gloriously soft in your fingers, and you press him even closer. He hums against your cunt, pausing, and you can feel his lips curling in a smirk, but you don’t care. You need more, and so you tug his locks, and he happily yields to your insistence.
Oh, he is even better at this with his tongue, you think.
He zig-zags his tongue across your slit, then pushes it in your hole. In and out, and again, and again. He begins to speed up, and you’re trembling around him.
Then nothing at your core, and you cry out, your eyes shooting open to look down at him.
He chuckles. You narrow your gaze at him, “You–“
He surges up to put a stop to your words with a kiss, persistent until he feels you soften, then draws away and brushes his thumb over your cheek. “You’re meant for more than instant gratification, my pearl.”
Those words send a shiver down your spine, and you would be irked by the smile that’s still too close to a smirk on his face, but you both know he’s now earned this moment with you. What’s more, there’s a depth in the eyes of the look he’s giving you, proof that it’s not cockiness, but satisfaction tinged with yearning that strikes you to your core. “Please.”
“Tell me what you want, Princess. I will give you everything,” he swears, and you know he means it indefinitely.
“Make me come, my king.”
He nods, eyes remaining fixed on you as his hand moves to your cunt. He inserts one finger, pressing in and then drawing back out, and you hum in approval. He doesn’t hesitate to add a second finger, and you push your hips forward even more. The heat and concentration of his gaze on you is tremendous, and it continues stoking its own fire in your soul, but it’s more than you can handle in this moment, so you close your eyes and draw him back in for another searing kiss, plunging your tongue into his mouth, doing your best to undo him in at least some small way.
He seems to sense this is your intention, as you suck his bottom lip into your mouth, and he curls his fingers up and finds the spot on the wall of your pelvis that will be your undoing. You keen when he finds it, your head falling back. He presses just one open-mouthed kiss to the column of your neck, offered up vulnerably to him, and then he swiftly descends to bury his head back between your thighs. He immediately sucks your clit, his fingers continuing to plunder your tight channel, and you wrap your legs around his neck, crossing your ankles against his muscular back. The pleasure builds, coiling in your stomach, your limbs tightening. He curls those fingers again, expertly, and hurtles you over the edge, cries of ecstasy escaping your chest.
His mouth releases your clit, but his fingers carefully stroke you through your orgasm, drawing out the rippling sensations. He solemnly kisses up and down your leg, and you’re still riding the bliss, but you can feel his eyes trained up on you once more.
Just as you think he will withdraw, his fingers pick up speed up again, but he plunges them in deeper. His lips return to torment you with pleasure, and you grasp at his head, though the action is futile as you are no match for his immense strength. His free hand is now planted at the base of your spine, not allowing you to squirm even one inch away from his ministrations. He is in earnest, and so your second orgasm breaks over you quickly, and you collapse forward, the desperate whimpers of release swallowed up by him a moment later as he straightens up and his lips seek yours. You sink into the kiss, and he pulls you from the throne and into his embrace. He moves easily to reclaim his throne, much as he has reclaimed you. His lips continue to kiss you, but they drift away from your lips and back – moving over your cheeks, your jaw, along your neck, softly over your eyes, over your forehead, your shoulders, the spot beneath your ear, the juncture at your collarbone, ghosting over your temples, every bit of skin that’s exposed to him. He wants all of you. You’re powerless to do anything but accept his ministrations, and you have no desire to refuse this exploration, blissed out as you are.
When his kisses slow, you bring your delicate fingers up to caress his face. He rests his forehead against yours, and his arms around your torso tighten, pressing you closer.
“Do not doubt that you are the companion that I want,” he murmurs. “After so long as the solitary ruler of my people, I have no need to settle for anything less than exactly who I want as my queen consort. Tomorrow you will be crowned.”
“Tomorrow.” You smile. “And I do think I’ll finally be able to sleep.”
“Oh, is that why you were wandering in the first place?”
You laugh. “Well, it was the mind that was agitated, but now…”
“Now we understand each other?”
“We do.”
“Then I hope you understand I’m not done with you yet, Princess.”
You gasp as his hand returns to your quim.
“I want one more, to seal this with three.”
You will be boneless by the time the king of Talokan deigns to surrender you to your bed, but every touch, as lost in pleasure as you are now, only tethers you more strongly to him.

Part 1: Forever Mine
Taglist: NIL
--------------------------------------------
[Name] didn’t know exactly how long it has been since Namor whisked her away. The caves of the King’s home were lonely, despite the presence of the guards that protected the premises. The walls were cold but the bed was even colder. She missed the seaside breeze, the heat on her skin and the food. She missed it all. [Name] sat atop the makeshift bed, one made with the most comfortable furs and a really sturdy frame. The occasional drops of water break the silence from time to time. The woman pulled the blanket over her body. It was too cold and a part of her sought the comfort of the King.
Tumblr media
[Name] remembered the morning after she was taken. She recalled fighting the King, thrashing against his hold, crying and begging for him to take him back. Namor simply ignored her, throwing her on the bed with a threatening finger.
“Try anything and I will retaliate. Understand?” And all she could do was nod, tears flowing freely. Namor caught a tear, rubbing it between his fore and thumb. “Don’t fear me, mi amor. I don’t want to hurt you but if I have to, I will,” His words were more of a promise than a threat. All the woman did was swallow and nodded, fear covered her heart.
Eventually, [Name] lost track of time. Each time Namor returned home, her voice would soften, refusing to meet his eyes but still acknowledge his presence. On his travels to the outside world, he would return with so many gifts ranging from clothes to exotic jewellery. Her heart melted at his sweet actions and slowly, she began opening up to him. She wore the clothes when he wasn’t around, twirling around to see herself. Her hands rubbed her own arms, smiling softly. As days passed, she realised that perhaps Namor isn’t that much of a threat she may have perceived him to be.
But she never forgot her misery.
Namor entered their shared home, dressed in his elaborate but beautiful cloak. [Name] was laying on their shared bed, turned away from the King.
“In yakunaj,” He called out, moving around the bed. He sat on the edge, a strong hand gently laid on her arm. She didn’t acknowledge him, burying her face in the pillow to ignore him. The bracelet around her wrist caught his eyes and a proud smile spread across his lips. “You wear the bracelet. It brings out your beauty even more,” He tried, in an attempt to get the woman to react but all she did was grumble into the soft pillow.
“Look at me, in yakunaj,” Namor instructed, hand gently squeezing her arm for a reaction. However, she didn’t give him anything.
Namor growled. Her disobedience was getting on his nerves. His large hand ripped the pillow away from her face, grabbing her chin to force her to look at him. Upon laying his eyes on her redden eyes and tear stained cheeks, his anger melted. Furrowed brows relaxed and his jaw muscles eased.
“Mi amor-,”
“Namor, please,” [Name] sniffled, her hands on his broad shoulders now, leaning close to the King.
“Please, just let me see land once more. I-I miss it, Namor,” She hiccuped, chest heaving to hold back more tears from flowing.
“I c-can’t stand it here anymore. I miss the sun, I miss my home, I miss my family. I miss everything up there! Do you understand my predicament? I am suffering here, Namor..Do you understand?” She hiccuped again, slumping her forehead against his shoulder. [Name] had to admit, though, that for a man who spent a majority of his time in saltwater, he did smell good.
“Please, Namor..Please, I am begging you, my King. I will do whatever you want. I will be your wife, I will bear your children but please..let me see the outside world once more. Please, K’uk’ulkan,” She sniffled.
Namor eased up. While he enjoyed her begging and listening to his true name rolling off her tongue like butter, he understood her pain. But he cannot grant her wishes. Not right now, at least.
Unfortunately, Namor had bigger issues at hand. The Wakandans. A new threat had begun to surface and this threat had something to do with his beloved empire and his people. The surface dwellers were meddling with the wrong people and he needed the scientist whose intention was to jeopardise their very secret existence. He had gone to Wakanda with a demand- that they bring the scientist to him or else, when his patience runs out, he will be forced to do things his way. Namor intends to wait for two days before he will take action.
His hands were soft as he brought [Name]’s face off his shoulders. It cupped her chin, eyes soft. “I will grant your wishes,” At that sentence, her eyes widened and lit up, lips parted. She was surprised at the sudden change.
“But..,” The King began again and her expression shifted, anticipating the ever coming disappointment.
“But, there are matters that I have to take care of first before I can do so,”
“W-What sort of matters?”
Namor shook his head slightly. “Nothing you should be concerned with, my love. I will have my soldiers to protect you. Do not leave our home, understand? Can you do this for me?”
[Name] sniffled, wiping her eyes and wore a small smile. “Thank you, my King. I can never repay such generosity,” She leaned back into him and this time, his arms snaked around her waist.
“Being my Queen is enough repayment,”
--------------------------------------------
Days passed and [Name] did her best to entertain herself with whatever items Namor left for her. There were guards standing outside the doors of the hut and around it. She was confused with why the excessive amount of protection but she refused to question it.
These empty days gave her time to think about Namor.
And she thought deeply.
Namor was a King of a whole underwater empire. He was like a God to them, even inheriting these powers he had. So why her? What made her so special? What made her so special enough that he wanted her, a human with the inability to breathe underwater, to be the queen of a whole empire?
Then, she remembered.
“K’uk’ulkan is his true name. But the only reason why he chose Namor, was from the words belonging to a surface dweller. El Niño sin Amor. A child without love,” said one of her maidens, who cared for her daily needs.
[Name]’s heart ached for the King. No one deserved to live without love. She couldn’t exactly pinpoint how old he is but to live a life without love? She would rather die than to do so. Her eyes looked down to her arm, where among the bracelet gifted by her King, was a bracelet that belonged to his mother. Her own heart ached to see her mother once more. She missed her and looked forward to seeing her again. The woman had long days to piece the stories together. His mother was the last person to ever love K’uk’ulkan and ever since then, he didn’t love again.
She could love him.
She knew she could.
All the things he did for her was for her best interest and she knew it. His true intention was never to hurt her but to love her. And she will love him.
It had been two weeks or so since K’uk’ulkan had left to attend to his personal affairs and she missed him greatly. [Name] asked the guards everyday on when her love would return but they too couldn’t give her an answer.
A heavy sigh left her lips, K’uk’ulkan’s cloak rested on her shoulders. His scent was wearing off and she frowned deeply.
The sound of rustling pulled the woman out of her thoughts and she found her King stepping through the doors of their shared hut. She gasped, immediately getting to her feet.
“In yakunaj,”
“K’uk’ulkan!”
Both said at the same time. [Name] wore a big smile on her lips and so did he as she rushed to him. His arms wrapped around her waist, face buried into her neck and breathed deeply. “You look magnificent with my cloak on, mi amor,” And just like that, her face reddened. Her hands moved to his back, tightening the hug but he hissed in pain.
[Name] pushed the King away, moving around to his back. Her eyes widened. While most of his back had smooth skin due to his fast healing, there were some deep burnt wounds taking their time to mend and heal.
“What happened?” Her fingers hovered over the wounds, moving down to his lower back where her eyes stopped to his ankle. “Your wing..”
K’uk’ulkan turned to face his queen.
“A battle I shared with another. There is nothing to worry about, my lov-,” “No. Nope. Sit down. I will tend to your wounds,” “Mi amor-,” The King tried to protest but she glared at him.
“Sit down. I mean it,” [Name] moved to the medicinal table, readying the herbs and leaves for his wounds. She returned with a bowl of crushed medicinal herbs, kneeling on the bed behind the King with her hands moving around his back to cover the wounds.
“Two weeks, K’uk’ulkan. You didn’t come back and I got worried,” The woman confessed, her own heart skipping a beat at her own words. She could feel his muscles tense under her touch. She did take her time to admire the broad spread of his back, cheeks reddening once more at her own ogling. Her fingers spread the medicinal herb on the last wound before placing a healing leaf on it. It was time like this that she did miss modern medicine but this herb apparently works wonders.
“Done..” She muttered, leaving to clean her fingers up. K’uk’ulkan stood, eyes watching her every movement, even when she returned to him.
He offered a hand to her and she looked at it. She took it, lacing their fingers together. He didn’t waste any more time, pulling the woman in to capture her lips with his own. Her entire body eased into his touch, melting into the hot kiss. She tilted her head, giving the King more space to deepen the kiss.
[Name] pulled away first, chest heaving slightly.
K’uk’ulkan rested his forehead against hers, a small smile on his furry lips.
“Why the change, my love?”
“I heard your stories from the maidens, K’uk’ulkan,” [Name] moved her hand to cup the King’s cheek, thumb caressing the beard with a smile on her lips.
“You may think that you don’t deserve love, especially after the life you lived and the things you have seen. But..,”
The woman tiptoed a little, planting a soft kiss to his cheek, thumb caressing his cheekbone now.
“Even a God needs love,”
The King smiled widely, pulling his queen in for another deep kiss.
[Name] vowed that she would belong to K’uk’ulkan...eternally.

Everyone has a childhood memory that will come back to them. It doesn't matter if it was happy, sad, uncomfortable, or traumatic. You will never forget it, and your memory that, despite not being joyful, your conscious will remind you of it in difficult moments. You don't know if it's a cruel way of your brain to make you recall bitter memories, and it always does it out of the blue. You wish you could restart your brain sometimes, but that would require going to a hospital full of locals who are not very friendly with you.
You can't blame them, and you cannot hold ill feelings toward the local's villagers, with infinite beliefs that this world could offer you. You learned them when you discovered this planet. Similar to your home, with different structures and weather but an identical society. Although a bit primitive, how can planet Earth's habitants assume they are the only ones in space? With so many galaxies in space and massive planets, that cannot be compared to the sun. Oh, that splendid sun that your skin loved on the first day you arrived. Bathing in its warm rays, you were fascinated by its captivating sunsets and sunrises. You never got tired of those.
Your planet was not like this, covered by immense clouds that did not allow the sky to show, immense oceans but not as deep as the earth, and mountains. Your planet was known for using the minerals of the mountains and active volcanoes, using their energy to create life, and cultivating a beautiful culture that, from generation to generation, has passed through several decades.
Only to be eradicated by a madman.
A gloomy shadow fell on your gaze, a heavy exhalation flew from your nose, slumping against the hammock. A nightmare woke you up before your alarm went off, and you couldn't catch up on sleep afterward. So now you were gazing at the ocean, waiting for the sun to rise. Your hut was constructed out of the materials of your fallen ship and natural resources. Of course, you were inspired by the designs of the local Yucatecans.
Three years have passed since you crashed on this planet, keeping a safe distance from civilization, although humans have their mutants, superheroes, and 'gods.' But with you, it was different. You still kept receiving indifferent looks, with fear or disgust. You weren't going to hide your body, it was impossible to conceal your pointy ears, and the idea of hiding your precious tail with some pants was ridiculous.
Your people do not hide.
With the first rays of the sun, you stood up from the hammock, ready to go to the town and work. Wearing an old red tank top, green cargo shorts up to the knee, and a pair of sandals. You don't need them, but they were a gift from a mother who saw you all barefooted in the streets, insisting and almost scolding you for not wearing footwear.
Your people don’t need to wear ‘shoes’, their feet were stronger and made to run in the forest and climb mountains. With your backpack prepared with your supplies and lunch, you headed to Progreso, starting another mundane cycle again with the humans.
With a glance over your shoulder, the soft breeze swayed the palms surrounding the hut, your home, which you glared at it. How can it be home to you if it's always empty? You prayed that would change soon.
.
🌟
.
The streets of Progreso were boasted with locals and tourists, excited to begin a new day to either work or explore. You marched the same road to avoid stares and strangers who dared to ask why you have a tail. You can handle children with sticky hands who are overcurious about your tail, but grown adults trying to touch your ears? That's a big no-no.
You work in a popular restaurant name El Pargo, but you were not a cook, a waitress, or a barista. None of that, you work in the back, receiving heavy cargo that no human could get off the delivery trucks. Sometimes the manager would send you to the dock to ensure their deliveries were safe, which confounded you. Did someone wanted to steal their shrimp and lobster?
Crime was common here, too common because people didn't seem bothered if someone was killed in the streets or kidnapped. Your people had their rules too, if you steal they cut off your hand, but those were radical times. You were wondering if that could help them. You took another bite of your guava, the juices dripping onto your handkerchief. It was your first break of the day, and you were observing the people go by the restaurant, families enjoying the sun and their sweets, and couples holding hands as they looked at each other in love. Some of your coworkers have pointed out and teased why you were observing like a hawk. Perhaps you like to analyze and imagine what if it was you walking in those shoes.
“Xola!”
You beamed at the nickname and turned around to lock eyes with the owner, Maritza, with a vulgar mouth but a nurturing woman who likes to smoke those cigarettes twice a day. Throwing the rest of the fruit in a trash can and wiping your hands on the handkerchief, you asked what you can do for her.
“I need you to go the dock, el Peter y Chucho no vinieron andas crudos,” Maritza huffs as she texted her smartphone.  “Can you go there and give them a hand, Mija?   Shows those lazy bums some muscles, si?” Peter and Chucho have a hangover.
You nodded as you followed her to the back room to get your phone. “What are we receiving today?”
“Octopus, lobster y una cajota de huachinangos como te gustan!” Maritza winked in your direction as you tried to prevent those purple-manicured nails from poking your ribs, but you did beam at the idea of those delicious red fishes. They tasted so great with lemon, white rice, and boiled vegetables. It was the perfect meal.
“Andale, take the bike so you can get there faster, vamonos Shu!”
You caught the keys in midair, tail wagging as you grinned at her, nodded gratefully, and exited the half-full establishment. Maritza was in a good mood, allowing you to drive her motorcycle only happens once a year.  Your first time driving a bike, you almost drowned in the ocean along with it.  The engine's purr vibrated between your legs when you ignited the vehicle, and you started to drive on the poorly fixed street.  Trusting in your driving skills, it took about twenty minutes to get to where the local boats unload and where sometimes people liked to fish and release.
“What’re you doing here, fenomeno?” freak
“Can I at least remove the helmet?” You deadpan as you get off the bike muttering in your native language, ‘annoying little shit’
“What did you say?” Jose question with a glare.
Finally you paid attention to Maritza's son, the proclaimed future owner of the restaurant, scowled at you with disdain. He is a pubescent boy who hardly knows about the world, that's what Maritza told you, but you knew the boy had a hatred towards you, perhaps due to the lack of a father figure in his young life.
“I said, hi Jose, how are you today?” You smirked at him as you left the helmet on one of the handles. “I didn’t expect you to be here.”
“Because I’m already handling it, so I don’t need your help.”
“That’s not what your mother told me.” But before you could approach the dock steps, Jose stepped in the way.
“Como te lo dije fenomeno, I don’t need your help. So go the fuck away.” like I said freak.
Your pointy ears fold back, feeling the anger in your throat with the urge to smack him on the head. Insults never dishearten you. You've heard worse, but the resentment towards you. What did you do to deserve such treatment? When you took a threatening step and invaded his space, delight passed when you saw Jose shrink and your vibrant eyes scowled him down.
“If you don’t move, you’re going to force me to move you, boy.” You snarled quietly as your cat eyes like glared at him. Jose gulped and smirked nervously.
“If- if you touch me, I’ll call on you the police.”
 The weak threat made you huffed amusedly as you side-step him.  “As if anyone wants to touch your disgusting human body. I do not respond to threats, Jose. I make them. So, I suggest you change your attitude before something happens.”
And right away you went up the stairs, ignoring the angry words of Jose, who followed you, trying to have the last word. The waters of the pier were deep, and where no one dared to swim since there was no sand to step on. Your eyes found the boat with the restaurant logo, and you greeted some workers, some greeted you, and others gave a look that you didn't even care about and began to help them disembark. Quickly picking the heaviest box and putting it on the hand truck.
But how were you going to work with someone yapping down your neck?
“I could tell my mom that you said that to me! ¡Te despedirá si se lo digo!”
“Go for it.”
You hoped the impassive glare you sent over your shoulder could make him walk away, but he continued to complain. And you felt second-hand embarrassment since other bystanders were glancing at the young adult as if he was a nutcase, and he is, but Jose couldn’t care less. He wanted to speak his piece of mind.
“I will! And then you can get the fuck away from my home.”
“I didn’t know you own the whole state.”
“You know what I mean, pinche fenomeno!” fucking freak
Workers who watched the interaction shook their heads in disbelief, used to these childish tantrums from the young boy you believed. Finally, with the last heavy package set, a guy took away the hand truck to load on the car waiting at the end of the pier. The other male workers took this as a sign to breathe and sit on the boat while waiting for another hand truck.
“Ya dejala en paz Jose, estamos trabajando aquí.” Leave it alone Jose, we are working here
“Ya chamaco vete a perder a otra parte.” Alright kid, get lost somwehre else
Jose scowled at the workers in disbelief.  “Why are you letting this alien work with us? She doesn’t belong here!”
“Am I a freak or an alien? Pick up your damn mind.”  Your remark got a few chuckles from behind you as you faced Jose, tail wagging left and right, frustration bubbling to a fit of anger you might not be able to contain.
“You know what you are,” Jose sneered. “A fucking – “
“DEMONIO!”  Demon
Everyone jerked at the loud shout from the other side of the pier, and they saw an older man struggling with his fishing rod, as if something was trying to pull him down.
“¿Señor, está bien?”  Someone asks him from the boat.  Sir, are you alright?
“Hay un demonio en el agua! Un demonio.”  There is a demon in the water! A demon"
Two men quickly approached, helping the man try to pull the catch, and you also drew near to the edge of the pier. Why would he scream demon? Could it be one of those monster fish you sometimes see in the magazine? A frown pulls your brows as you scrutinize the turbid water trashed around where the line was disappearing.  But when you crouched down to get a better look at what it could be, your eyes widened in bemused, briefly between the men’s pulling back and forward. You briefly caught two small hands pulling the thread of the fishing rod. It wasn't a demon, that was a child!
“Stop, stop! That is not a demon, that is a kid!”
But none of them listened to you as they were on the verge of collapsing, whatever it was down there, it was strong and didn't seem to budge. Someone lost their grip with the water thrashing and splashing on the slippery wooden pier, and the older man was yanked down.  And you dive in, ignoring the scared protest from your coworkers.
Your eyes adjusted to the murky ocean water as you swam down, trying to locate the man with the white shirt, but the salt water was stinging your eyes, but you kept kicking your legs. Sinking even further, relief flooded you as you located the man a few feet away from you, floating unconscious. You swam over to him, and before you could even grabbed him by the bicep, something from down below floated to you, and you almost lost all the air as you gasped dumbfounded.
A child, there was a child glaring at you. But your keen eye catches the big gash on her forearm, blood flowing as the kid cradles her arm near her, and with a last mad glare she sent you, she swam down and disappeared into the dark water.
Who are you? What are you? Where do you come from? So many questions but limited time for your lungs. Remember you’re not like your other distant relative who are design to breathe underwater. Desperately you grasped the man's arm and swam up with all your might, lungs starting to burn inside your chest. Sweet relief filled your lungs the instant you broke out from the surface. A long stick appears in your line of vision, and you grip it, letting the man pulling you to the pier. A pair of hands hold you from your biceps and pull you up, clothes clinging to your soaking wet body.
The paramedics immediately took the unconscious man to the hospital, one of them gave you a thick blanket to cover yourself with, and you accepted it. They applauded you for your brave action, patting your back as you smiled at them, but your mind was elsewhere. Who was that child in the ocean? It wasn't your imagination, perhaps a mutant you sometimes saw on the news.
“Oye Xola, que vio esa viejo en el agua? Was it a demon? Did you saw it too?” One of the fishermen asked you, all of them gazing at you with morbid curiosity.   Should you tell the truth?  Lying was against the law on your planet, but then again, this is not your planet, so you shrugged. Hey Xola, what did that old man see in the water?
“No, it wasn’t a demon. I think it was a small shark or something else, but I couldn’t see it clearly.”
Humans speculate among themselves. A shark, a sea monster, or an older man should search for another age-appropriate hobby. And before you reached the stairs from the pier, you gave one last look where you jumped into the water. The soft waves moved the water in a rhythm that prevented you from observing its depths.
It's settled. You are going to explore more about the depth of the ocean.
Everyone went about their day, prepared to share what had happened on the pier with their friends, family, and others. Maritza lent you one of her clothes, and she was excited to see you in them. Your closet includes shirts that expose your shoulders, shorts, or long skirts to comfort your bottom.  The white crop top with no sleeves was a beautiful local white stitching, and the long flowy green skirt was perfect for your tail, with free mobility.
You said goodbye to Maritza with a wave and a smile, promising you would bring her clothes back tomorrow. All day you were thinking about how you're going to investigate your little encounter. The public library was 1 hour from the city, and you needed more energy to use public transportation. The internet could help, with its infinite knowledge of the world, surely there will be something about children capable of breathing in water and stronger than an adult. Your feet wandered through the streets while you savored a large bowl of fruit full of hot sauce and other sweets that the vendor prepared for you. But someone drew your attention, and a happy grin pulled your cheeks.
“Abuela Aurora!” You called out to the elderly woman ahead of you and trotted towards her. Her wrinkled brows rose in surprise, then fondness at the sight of you, and open her arms to embrace you in a gentle hug.  The smell of marzipan and roses filled your nose, enjoying the warm contact from her purple and pink shawl.
“Mi dulce Xola, como te fue hoy? Cuéntame.” My sweet Xola, how was your day today? Tell me.
You related your day, every detail you did, every thought, and every word you had with someone new. And you pause, unsure if it would be a good idea if you tell your encounter with the child to the grandmother. Would it scare her? Alarm her? Then again, she always gave you good advice. She always did when you wanted to create a life in Progreso.
“Hubo un accidente en el muelle, un pescador cayo al agua y estaba ahí para rescatarlo.”
“Ay que peligroso, pero mi dulce niña estaba ahí para salvar el día. ¿Qué fue lo que atrapo ese pescador?”
“No era un qué sino un quién…”  The older woman halted and looked at you curiously, waiting for your answer.
“Vi a una niña, vestida en harapos y con collares de dientes en su cuello.”
That innocent curiosity in the brown eyes of the older woman changed to one of affliction, and with a speed that surprised you, Aurora grabbed your hands and stared into your eyes.
“Olvídate de lo que viste.  Tu no viste una niña en el agua, fue tu imaginación.”
“Pero abuela yo –"
“No! ¡Olvídate de eso, es un mito y nada más! ¡Él es un mito!”
You slipped out of the older woman's grip, and uncertainty invaded you as you took a step back and looked at her suspiciously. And without explaining her outburst, the grandma spun around to continue her stroll as if nothing had happened.
🌟
What the fuck just happened? After thirty minutes of wandering all alone with your rambling and perturbed thoughts. You met grandma in a public park, she offered you a taste of one of her empanadas when you admitted that you had never tried them. It was a fact, she knew something about that underwater child. Tomorrow morning you will have to be persistent and get answers. But what if she's protecting you from something? Is he a myth? Who is a myth?
Your pensive gaze rose to see your cabin illuminated, with its decorative lights on the railing, the warm and gentle breeze swaying the palms leaves, making your skin nippy due to the sweat. So peaceful. Nothing disturbed you.
Your tote bag slipped from your shoulder, falling on the sand with a quiet thud. You didn’t left the backyards lights on.  It’s like a ritual to you, turning all the lights before going outside.   Instinct invades you, slits black pupils narrowed, attempting to search for any sign of threat.
There were three classifications among your people who had unique gifts. For example, a group was for the community, healers, and builders. Another group was for working minds to voice the complaints and wishes of the communities to avoid conflict between tribes.
You knelt without breaking contact with your home and grasped a fist of sand, a familiar warmth spread in your right hand, turning the little sand into a glass-looking lance.
Then there's your group, fiercely protecting the community with their lives. Who attack first and asks questions later.  But you gotta be cautious cause this is not your planet; this environment is not filled with humongous beast or neighborhood tribes who wished to raid your hom.
Earth doesn’t have that.
“Come out before I’ll drag you by the throat.”  Your threat was loud, making sure whatever was inside your home could hear it. A rustle from your left was heard, loud and approaching you, bending your knees into a defense position, raising your spear to your shoulder.
“Much ma' in meentik loob…”  Please, don’t hurt me.
Your gaze immediately softened, and you lowered the spear. Your heartbeat delayed its frantic pace, realizing you were not going to fight your life. A huge relief for you because you were wondering how you would hide the body. There was the cause of your inner turmoil.  Giving you the biggest puppy eyes you have ever seen, wet hair still dripping, which indicates she must have been hiding in the water not too long ago, but a whiff of copper made you blink. The little girl was still holding her arm to her chest, there was no bleeding, but the gash on her forearm looked red and angry, needing treatment.
You took a step forward but halted when she quickly took two steps back. Her widened eyes were staring at something, and you looked down, ah right how could you forget the dangerous weapon in your hand. Slowly you kneeled down, keeping eye contact with the girl, dropping the glass weapon, and the second it made contact with the white sand, it returned to its original form.
The little girl gasped with wonder as she walked towards you with new courage, speaking in her mother language you could not understand.
“Teech juntúul k'uj?  K'a'abéet a beel juntúul bey le intia'al, Kukulkán!”  Are you a god?  You must be one like mine, Kukulkan!
 You crouched correctly to her eye level as you raised your hands. “Woah, woah, I – I cannot understand you,”
The girl paused as she heard you speak, frowning.
“Ah, you don’t understand me, okay….” You muttered to yourself, feeling conflicted about how to communicate with her.  “That nasty wound will get infected if it isn’t treated.”
The girl tilted your head as she blinked at your word. You pointed at her wound. “What happened to you?”
 She glanced at it briefly and shrugged. “  Yaan u ts'akik chúunk'in, le xiibo' estúpido lúub yóok'ol tin yéetel in la'achik.”  It will heal later, that stupid man fell on me and scratched me.
You understood the word stupid, but you could not decipher the rest. However, inside your home, you could use your native technology to help her and be able to translate what she said. You straightened to your height and offered your hand. The little girl stared at it, then at you. Curiosity but caution gleamed in her brown eyes, clearly not trusting you fully.
Using the same hand, you offered you pointed where your heart was. “Xola,” You offered your hand again, hoping the little girl would understand your intentions. You just wanted to help her and perhaps know more about her origins.
It took her seconds to understand you, and a smile pulled her chubby brown cheeks. “Yalit,” Your hands gently grasped the small hands from Yalit and pulled her towards your home, and for the first time, you had a  guest in your lonely home.

Aging can be a terrifying process for most.
Growing older, becoming weaker, your body changing in ways you didn't expect or understand, and having to depend on others for the smallest of things. It is indeed terrifying. That is why some people would try and stay young as long as possible, and it's not by doing the usual thing where they would use pharmaceutical products or do surgeries. But they would be going as far as doing everything in their power to not meet their soulmate, the one person who they are meant to grow old with, to finally start their life together.
In this world, people stopped aging after their 18th birthday, when they are meant to go out and explore the world and meet people in hopes that one of them is their destined partner. But meeting a soulmate is like a cruel game of guessing because you would have to spend significant time with this person in order to see if you aged or not. When realizing that none of them aged the partners would either break up immediately or stay together for the sake of not being alone, but as said before, others would do everything in their power to disconnect themselves from people for the sake of an immortal life, which is foolish since there is no true immortality, everyone dies in the end, either by fate or beside the one they love.
That's why after (Y/n)'s 18th birthday she did not waste time and ventured into the world to meet people and have new experiences in hopes that one day she would meet the one who is meant for her and her for them. Now, the longest a person stayed 18 before meeting their soulmate was less than 50 years, so imagine her surprise, disappointment, and sadness when she spent almost 300 years alone.
In the first 100 years (Y/n) was crying, not only because she still haven't found the one, but also because she saw how the world around her was going by fast, her family was dying, her close friends who already found their soulmates were growing older, forcing her to be left behind as everyone around her was living their lives. She realized that she doesn't have a place around in her hometown so she decided to leave and find a home somewhere else. During her 200 years, she explored everything she could, the different cultures, learned different languages, and learned how to fight to protect herself from those who found out about her "Situation" and wanted to use her. Shield reached out to her and asked to help them build their organization with the promise of tending to her every need as long as she lived and she took it.
(Y/n) even came across magic users, which lead her to meet the ancient one who helped her accept this long life of hers, she stayed with them a good 40 years, learning what she could about magic since she did not have the talent for mystic arts. During that time (Y/n) has already several homes around the world, thanks to the money that she was investing and the money that Shield would provide her with, she owned several weapons, mechanics, firearms, and even traditional weapons. One day she heard of an artifact in the corners of Nigeria that might hold some magical power, she didn't know what it was but she knew that if it was dangerous she needed to keep it with her or at least deliver it to the ancient one.
That's how she met King T'Chanda and found out about Wakanda.
She remembered the look of pity he gave her when she told him her story, maybe that pity is the reason why he extended a hand of friendship, and to maintain this friendship she swore that she would never speak of his country's existence. Every few years she would go there and visit him, for a while he was the same as her. He lived as a young man for a long time, which made her understand the look of pity he gave her because he understood what she was going through. So her jealousy was also understandable when she came to visit one day and found him aged a few years with his hand wrapped around a beautiful woman who was pregnant. (Y/n) held no romantic feelings for the king, but she hoped selfishly that he would remain without a soulmate like herself, that she would at least have a friend like herself. But again, she forced herself to accept the reality that she would be alone for a very long time until something came to end her life, but up until that happens she would live her life the best she could.
Now, the great thing about the Wakandan Royal family is that they accepted her as she is, they did not give her weird looks nor did they attempt to experiment on her, like how most of the world acted. She remembered how annoyed she was when T'Chanda made his son T'Chaka call her "Great Aunt" and from then on she was called as such despite her very youthful look. But she accepted in the end and even enjoyed it a bit.
Then (Y/n) entered the 20th century and everything started to go crazy. She could handle the super soldier project because it was kind of expected after seeing in what way humanity's technology was taking, especially in the name of winning a war. Then there was the time when she found out that aliens existed, which means that alien invasion was inevitable so she took the right measures and that was staying away from it, because what can she do? Immortal or not she was still a human with no power, yes she has magical items that can be used as weapons but that would be risking exposing the existence of sorcerers so she decided to just stay back, after all, Fury assured her that he has a plan and that is by assembling a team of heroes.
Where was (Y/n) during all that? Having a very long vacation in Wakanda, where she was helping Shuri test her new inventions and helping her prank her brother. She would train with T'Challa and give him bits of advice that he might need as a future king. And, Of course, she would chat with T'Chaka and Ramonda and even lecture them, which was a funny scene for their children to see them being lectured by an 18-year-old girl. Yes, she had a really close connection to the Wakandan royal family, which was understandable when she helped T'Challa try and catch his father's assassin. (Y/n) got a lot of backlash because of it from Fury when he found out the truth. It caused her to be kicked out of shield, but she didn't care because she knew that if she stopped T'Challa from seeking revenge his anger would have blinded him further, and would have probably rebelled and caused further harm not only to himself and his family, so she allowed him to let out everything from his system knowing, in the end, he would be able to find his own way back.
So it was understandable how happy she felt when T'Challa came back with the said assassin wanting to help him recover after learning why he did what he did.
Then after that in a few years, the snap happened, and (Y/n) did not disappear like half of the universe. Because of Fury's disappearance, Shield contacted her begging her to come back and help them control the chaos, which she reluctantly did. She did not want to go but Queen Ramonda assured her that they will keep in touch and that Wakanda was probably more prepared than the rest of the world, which was engulfed in chaos.
(Y/n) might have lived centuries, but those 5 years felt longer and emptier. Jumping from country to country to help assert order, calling what is left of the Avengers to see if they had anything they could use, and when she has time she would contact Shuri and Ramonda. At the start of her, "immortality" (Y/n) would have depressive episodes that she struggled greatly with but thanks to the ancient one who helped her learn how to cope with it, she thought she got over it but there she was crying in her apartment wishing that all of it would just end, the loneliness is getting to her again and she was afraid that this time she won't be able to escape it.
Thankfully, Scott Lang showed up and gave them the hope to fix all of this. When they finally built the time machine (Y/n) told them that she was going back to Wakanda to tell them the good news, coincidentally, shortly after the time of her arrival the people who had disappeared in the middle of the battlefield materialized back. (Y/n) cried with joy as she saw T'Challa reunite with his family.
After the war was over (Y/n) resigned despite Fury's attempts to persuade her to stay, but she refused because she did not want to be alone anymore. She moved permanently to Wakanda, who welcomed her with open arms. She became an unofficial consultant to King T'Challa, whether it was concerning his people or his love life she was there to aid him, same with Shuri who always told her about different types of shields and weapons that she could create for (Y/n) to protect herself with since she was still just a human, she would keep Ramonda company when her children were too occupied with their work to be with her.
They were her family, her people, but she knew that one day she would have to say goodbye to them as she continued living, but she didn't expect that goodbye would come much too soon with T'Challa.
(Y/n) was with Shuri in the lab trying to help her think of how to bring the plant back to save him, if they could turn back time to save half the universe then why not bring back an extinct plant to save their king. But when T'Challa asked to see them, (Y/n) went while Shuri stayed back saying that she was so close and can't waste time.
"I… I have a request to make-" His words were cut off by a harsh cough, which caused (Y/n) to hurry to his side in an attempt to soothe him.
"Don't strain yourself." She lectured but T'Challa shook his head and waved his hand to those who were in the same room extracting them to leave them alone, before turning back to her.
"My great aunt…" He murmured with a tired smile, which caused (Y/n)'s heart to ache as she fought back tears.
"I know that I might be asking too much of you…" he uttered between gasps as he struggled to breathe. "Take it … as a dying man's … final wish…"
"Don't say that, Shuri and I will find a way to bring back the plant and you will be good again." she assured. "Just … please hang on a little bit longer."
He just smiled at her, which caused (Y/n) to break into tears, T'Challa squeezed her hand as a way to comfort her but it only made her cry more as his hold was also weak.
"I'm sorry to have caused you more pain…I know you had gone through enough loss… but…my time is coming soon, I can feel it." He tried to reason but (Y/n) only shook her head, refusing to acknowledge such truth. T'Challa decided to continue.
"Please look after them…" He finally confessed. "Not my mother and sister only…"
(Y/n) immediately understood the implication and looked at him and nodded as she wiped her tears.
"And don't tell Shuri…she is not ready… at least not now."
Throughout her life (Y/n) saw many different reactions to loss. Some cried and screamed until they had nothing else to let out. Others raged out, breaking everything in front of them and even fighting others. There are those few who ignored it and continue with life as if nothing had happened, very few accept it. but the reaction that she saw the most of, was acting hastily and irrationally. Whether it was by saying something they don't mean or doing something that they might regret later thinking it was the best decision while they were high on emotions. Both (Y/n) and the queen understood that things weren't safe enough to bring T'Challa's son, not only the world but also Wakanda, and if Shuri found out she would probably demand that the boy be brought back or she would go to him, which would risk his safety because they still don't know how she would act when she does meet him. So after the King's death, Ramonda and (Y/n) grieved with Shuri and did their best to help her cope with her emotions.
After a year of isolating herself in her lab, Ramonda decided to take Shuri out one night so she might connect with her daughter again, which (Y/n) encouraged. She expected many reactions after their return.
Anger, more sadness, neutral as if nothing happened, and the reaction she hoped for was happiness and acceptance, but what she did not expect was both of them to return with a look of pure fear and worry.
"There was this kid- well he looked like a kid but he isn't, he has wings on his ankles!... he just comes out from the water and started making demands-" Shuri was trying to explain to (Y/n) who was lost and trying to understand her.
"Shuri, breath dear, who are you speaking about?" (Y/n) Asked with great concern.
"He said his name was Namor."
When they explained her situation more clearly, (Y/n) to try and help them come up with a plan on what they should do, she told Ramonda how some will agree to just give him the American scientist to do whatever he wants with them and that others will demand a fight. She must be the neutral ground so that they won't dare judge any decision she makes. So she decided to just bring the scientist, to at least be protected by them, and then on they would negotiate with this "Namor" person.
"What if we took great aunt with us?" piped in Shuri and her mother and Okoye's not so whispered conversation. "Maybe even call in my favorite colonizer."
Ramonda was hesitant when she thought it was only Okoye and Shuri but having the great aunt with them reassured her a bit, that's why (Y/n) can't imagine how she must be as she stared up at the walls of the cave around her. She was the first to wake up after she, Shuri, and Riri were taken by the blue soldiers whom she assumed were Namor's. The women that were assigned to them, who were also blue, motioned for her to come with them, giving sleeping Shuri one last look (Y/n) hesitantly followed her to a room covered in murals, and in the middle of it He stood.
"I assumed you are Namor?" She questioned, earning his attention.
When their eyes met (Y/n)'s heart thumped heavily against her rib cage, her body felt as if something washed over her as if something was lifted, and looking at him she could tell he probably felt it too because he gave her a look of bewilderment. Before any of them could say anything another woman came and told him something and he replied to her an order before she bowed and left.
"It looks like the princessa is awake." He stated, his voice causing a shiver to go down her spine.
"If you dared to harm her, I swear to-"
"All of you surface dwellers are the same, always marching to fight without thinking." He replied.
"Says the guy whose people ambushed us on the bridge and then kidnapped us."
"If I remember correctly it was you who came to me willingly."
"And allow you to kill an innocent soul?"
"I will kill thousands if it meant the safety of my people!"
Before she could reply to him Shuri came in and stood between him and (Y/n), in an attempt to protect her after hearing his last statement.
"And if you dared to harm my great aunt it would be you who dies next!" She threatened while glaring at him.
"Great aunt?" Repeated Namor with a puzzled look as his eyes darted between Shuri and her. then it clicked, and he focused on (Y/n). "How old are you?"
"You know … up there it's rude to ask for a woman's age." (Y/n) jested as she deflected the question, not trusting him enough to tell him anything about herself.
Having a closer look at the boy in front of her she realized that he was also around her age, he had a lean yet fit body, and his face was bare from facial hair, the thing that is giving him some sense of maturity was the accessories that he wore but from the way that he was acting he must be like her, stuck in this young body until they met their significant other, she didn't know if he was older or younger than her but what she does now is that this long life can have different effects on people, and since he was so determined to protect his people to the level of taking innocent lives she can tell he was unbalanced.
He asked to talk to Shuri privately since she was only true royalty of Wakanda, but (Y/n) still insisted to keep a safe distance so she can see them, and every now and then her eyes met his when Shuri wasn't paying attention, it's as if he was examining her and she couldn't blame him because she was doing the same thing to him. (Y/n) protested when he offered for Shuri to see his home but the princess assured her that she was going to be safe, when she did come back after what felt like forever she was met with a tight hug.
"I'm fine." Shuri assured as she hugged her back.
"I'm just glad that you're back safe." (Y/n) pulled away enough to examine the princess, then glared at Namor who chuckled at your actions.
"Great aunt I'm fine… it… it was beautiful!" Shuri exclaimed excitedly.
Shuri started chattering away to (Y/n) about the city that she saw, the Talokan, its people, and the "sun" that he had built for them, Namor was right beside them listening in, probably to make sure she doesn't tell too much.
"She is the first from the surface to come to Talokan." He confined before pulling out a bracelet to give it to Shuri. "Please take this as a token of our gratitude."
Before Shuri could accept his gift (Y/n) stopped him, being suspicious.
"What is it?" Shuri was about to lecture her about being too paranoid, but Namor's answer confirmed her suspicions.
"It was made with the plant that saved Talokan." He informed as he continued to give the bracelet to Shuri and tight on her wrist, he was staring at (Y/n) as if silently challenging her to stop him again before turning back to Shuri.
"You are young, Princess." He Stated. "When you age as I do, you realize we all lose everyone we love."
"But when I lost my brother, it just felt different." Shuri said with grief in her voice. "He suffered in silence. When he finally asked me to help him I couldn't"
(Y/n) hugged her in an attempt to comfort her and the princess leaned into it as she fought tears.
"How does it make sense that the ancestors would give me gifts and skills to help me save my brother, and I couldn't?... Why?"
"I don't have an answer for that question." Replied Namor.
"But I do…" (Y/n) chimed in earning both their attention. "My dear, I won't go into a long rant about what the ancestors were planning for you. I have lived long enough and have come across many religions, but most of them if not all believed in similar things and that life challenges us to become better. It can be a very painful journey, but what I know for sure is that you can never come out as the defeated if you knew how to harvest those talents and skills along with those emotions you can be better, not only for yourself but for everyone around you."
Shuri sat there as if she was not convinced by what (Y/n) just said, even pulling herself away from her hold, which saddened her. Seeing the woman's frown Namor felt the need to comfort her, but he didn't know how until he finally said.
"My ancestors would often say, "Only the most broken people can be great leaders"." Those words earned him the two women's attention again.
"I admire what you have built here." Started Shuri. "And you've protected your people.  But as a princess of Wakanda, I will not stand for you killing that young woman."
They tried reasoning with the king but their efforts were in vain as every time they tried to reason with him, promising him that they will do everything to protect not only his people but also the secrecy of their existence, he refused. Their conversation was cut short when one of his people came and told him that the queen was there to speak with him.
"You said you wanted to burn the world." He said to Shuri. "Let's burn it together."
And before he left completely he gave a glance to (Y/n), which she returned. When they went back to Riri to tell her of the possible upcoming war, Shuri and (Y/n) tried to discuss their next move, not noticing when Nakia came shooting one of the women warriors, then the poor terrified girl who was tending to them.
"We need to go." Nakia urged but both Shuri and (Y/n) refused to.
"Give me the beads I can save her." the princess ordered.
"Shuri, I don't know who this lady is, but we need to listen to her." Riri pleaded, fear clear on her face.
"Listen, I hit her with a sonic round, it is lethal from this distance. There is no chance." Nakia informed.
"You don't understand this will mean war." Shuri argued back.
(Y/n), sick of their banter, pulled Shuri's hands away from the injured girl before pulling her own beads and started aiding her herself.
"Shuri, go." (Y/n) ordered.
"Great aunt-"
"I said GO!"
With that said Nakia pulled Shuri away knowing that there is no time to also convince (Y/n) to come with them, the princess was a priority and both of them knew that. The immortal woman refused to pull away from the injured girl until she was sure that the bleeding stopped, she was so focused that she did not notice when Namor came behind her, and upon seeing the blood he pulled (Y/n) away harshly to kneel beside the girl and hold her head in his hands.
"What happened my child?" He spoke in his language, which (Y/n) did not understand, she was about to say something but stopped when another warrior came and slammed her to the ground pinning her.
"The Wakandans….they came for her." she struggled to speak, before pointing to (Y/n). "She stayed…"
Namor looked to the pinned surface dweller who did not struggle against his warrior's hold, as if to show her submission.
"K'uk'ulkan…." The girl called, grasping his attention again. "Can you save me?"
At her question, Namor looked down at her wound and found it mostly closed and the bleeding has stopped thankfully.
"You are going to be safe my child." He said before turning to one of the warriors and giving him an order, the warrior knelt to pick up the girl and hurried out of the cave.
He stood up and walked to (Y/n), who could only see his feet, but she assumed that he was staring down at her, and he was. Another woman came dressed in red to speak with him.
"They came… while you spoke to the queen?" She questions. "We should not have trusted her, the queen has seen our home, what is stopping them from coming for Talokan?"
"I will…" He replied. "With her here."
Namor order the warriors to bring her to his hut, and even though they did it harshly by pulling her up and dragging her around like a rag doll (Y/n) still did not fight back and kept calm. She was forced to stand in front of him as they were left alone and Namor knew it was a struggle for the woman for he can see how her figure was shaking slightly, yet her face held a stern look.
"You attempted to kill my people." He started.
"You kidnapped their princess, what did you expect them to do? To set back and wait?" (Y/n) shot back, which earned her a scowl from the king.
"If that child have died it would be your head on a spike right now."
"But she didn't."
Namor was in front of her in an instant and grabbed her by the neck and squeezed, not giving her any chance to breathe, and just watched as (Y/n) struggled.
"I could snap your neck like a twig right now and they won't care. The Wakandans have proven to be just as worst as the rest of the surface dwellers after I have shown my home and people to her and you dare to still defend them in front of me."
"B..Because…" (Y/n) struggled to take breaths as she spoke. "You…are a rash … brat!"
With those words Namor let her go, causing her to fall to the ground as she took quick breaths.
"A brat?" He repeated. "I may look young but I assure you I am older than your great great grandfather."
"And I can be your great great GREAT grandmother." She retorted mockingly. "You are not special just because you lived long, because you are not acting it."
"How dare you insult me!" He seethed.
"No." (Y/n) stopped him from talking more as she stood on her feet. "You are the one who came out of nowhere demanded an innocent life delivered to you, and even when you had her you still wanted more. you didn't want peace from the start you just want the war to quench your own rage against humanity."
"They are the ones who threatened my people's existence by exposing their resources, causing them to hunger for it."
"Maybe they shouldn't have done that, but to be fair Wakanda did not know of your people's existence when they revealed themselves they were ready to fight the world by themselves, they didn't know of Talokan, or else it would have been a different story." (Y/n) continued. "Listen, what happened has happened and we cannot change it, but what we can change is what will happen next. Both the Wakandans and I have ways to assure Talokan's safety, we can-"
"I don't need your help!" He bawled. "I gave Wakanda their chance to yield and they threw it away."
"See! There you go again and you say why I call you a child."
Namor reached out to her and (Y/n) closed her eyes and held her hands up ready for pain but it didn't come, and when she opened her eyes slowly she could see that he had stepped back and given her his back as he faced the murals of his people.
"The only reasons you are still alive are two." He said as he turned back to face her, his face suspiciously calm. "The first is because you stayed to save one of my people, which I would be lying if I said I wasn't grateful for."
He started taking a few steps toward her making her take a few steps back until her back touched the door, he stopped in front of her and leaned forward, his face inches from her own. (Y/n) wasn't the same teenage girl who would get flustered over the smallest things, like a charming smile, or a wink but she doesn't understand why was her heart beating fast she was face to face with a man in an isolated cave that she can never escape from, who can kill her at any desired moment. She would have marked it as fear if she didn't feel her face heating up.
"You are welcome." She replied, trying to make light of her emotions. "And what is the second reason?"
"Isn't it obvious?" He asked rhetorically, before looking to the door behind her. "Llévala!"
Suddenly, the door opened almost making her fall but was caught by the same warriors who brought her here, instead of being as compliant as she was previously, she was struggling and demanding to be let go.
"The second reason is for you to stay here as my captive, that if the princess decided to do anything stupid it would be you who will pay for it."
He promised and motioned for his hand for them to take her away, but before she was out of earshot (Y/n) said one last thing.
"Don't do anything rash you brat! It's not only the Wakandans who will suffer!"
Namor believed that those words were a threat, which fueled his determination to go and give Wakanda a taste of who they are going against.
---
(Y/n) was pacing back and forth in her cell, anxiety eating her alive as she was biting her lip until it bleed and nail until it was gone. Looking outside her cell she saw the guards who didn't move an inch since they threw her there, she tried talking to them but they either didn't understand her or just ignored her. Searching for an escape was useless, she did try to use the beads to communicate with Shuri and warn her about Namor but a cave under the sea is hardly the perfect place to find a signal to the surface let alone to Wakanda. (Y/n) made a note to herself to tell Shuri about a possible new upgrade.
She was pulled out of her train of thought when she heard the sound of splashing. She wasted no time and pressed herself against the bars and started to call.
"NAMOR!" She shouted. "Namor! Is that you!?"
Saying nothing the king came from the corner, and looked at her and when her eyes met his own she could feel a chill of fear go down her spine. (Y/n) lived long enough to know what that look meant, but she hoped to any god that is hearing her that what she was thinking was not the truth.
"What did you do?" The question slipped out unconsciously. Namor averted his eyes with an angry huff at being confronted, but in his eyes, she could see a hint of shame, and that filled her with rage. "If you hurt Shuri in any way I promise I will kill you myself!"
(Y/n) saw many people die in her long life, most of them were really dear to her, but no matter how many times she goes through the heartache doesn't become easier, especially if she was there since their birth. The only reason she was able to go through T'Chaka and T'Challa's death was that she had someone to support her and people to look after to distract herself. But here she was alone, in a cave under the sea, facing the man who probably hurt Shuri and not being able to do anything.
"No harm came to the queen." He replied simply, and that fueled her rage.
"I was talking about the princess! Not the queen!"
"She is queen now."
Namor said nothing more as he started walking away leaving (Y/n) to realize what he had meant. Before he could close the door to his chamber he can hear a distant scream of distress and a series of curses of his name. He just groaned as he isolated himself in his room trying to block her voice as he thought about his next step before the week is up. However, he couldn't do any of that for the entire time he was fighting the urge to walk to that cell and stop her from crying, not by yelling at her but by trying to reason with her, to try and justify his actions, how it was the only way. Or maybe it was just to let her let out her anger against him, give her the satisfaction to curse at him, and probably even hit him, which he know will not do any real harm to him.
It drove him crazy, but what drove him even crazier is WHY was he feeling these urges towards a surface dweller. Was it because he understood her pain? To live for so long and see everyone around you die and not be able to do anything to stop it? to not being able to say goodbye to someone you knew since their birth?
He couldn't dwell on those questions more as he realized that it became quiet again, taking the chance that her screams will not distract him Namor went immediately to planning. Determined to bring Wakanda to submit to him.
---
"There is another machine in our waters"
Namor said from outside of the cell as he stared at the back of his immortal prisoner who decided to set in the corner with her back to the exit, completely ignoring the king, which annoyed him. but he couldn't find it in himself to voice this annoyance.
"We will go and destroy it." He informed. "But there will still be a guard over you and a maid to make sure you are fed and looked after."
When he said those words his eyes landed on the bowl of fruit that was untouched and it bothered him greatly. He knew she was immortal and cannot die so easily like himself, but he knew that they were still affected by physical pains, including hunger, and (Y/n) didn't have anything for almost a week now. The only thing he was sure of to keep her functioning was the few sips of water she would take now and then. He did try to trick her once into drinking juice but when he did that she still refused to take it. Whether it was out of grief or she was just being rebellious either way, it saddened him and angered him at the same time.
He didn't even know why was he trying to talk to her now. He tried talking to her since the day he told her of what happened, but she kept ignoring him, making him feel stupid as he had a one-sided conversation, trying to justify what he did and lecturing her on how what she was doing to herself was stupid but she didn't care.
Feeling that he had wasted enough time Namor huffed in anger before turning around to leave, then he finally heard her.
"You are going to regret it."
"What?" He questioned as he turned back to her, but she went back to being quiet. "What did you just say?"
"….You are going to regret it."
(Y/n) finally looked at him from over her shoulder. Her eyes were bloodshot and puffy from crying, her hair disheveled and her skin pale from lack of nutrition. He didn't say another as she turned again and gave him her back.
Namor would have probably lashed out at her, confronting her on the threat she threw at him, but she said nothing as he turned back and walked away. it was probably because her voice did not sound threatening or taunting, but rather a statement.
---
(Y/n) eyes tiredly opened as someone was shaking her awake and calling her name in a panic. When the fog cleared up she saw that standing above and holding her in their arm is none other than Shuri, whose eyes were full of tears yet still had a relieved smile on her face. She said something that she couldn't grasp before the young princess pulled her into a hug, and mustering any strength she had left (Y/n) hugged her back as a few tears escaped her eyes.
Looking up she noticed that Namor was standing there the entire time, observing the reunion in silence, but that wasn't what drew her attention, but rather a scratch mark on his face, and one of his ankles was wrapped in bandages, he was wearing a poncho that covered his upped body but she swears she could see more, and deeper scratches littering his body. Their eyes met and looking at him (Y/n) almost didn't recognize him, she didn't know how long she was out for, but she could swear that Namor looked more mature.
"What did you do to her?!" Shuri shouted at the King, snapping him out of whatever trance he was lost in, and turned to her.
"I did not lay a finger on her or mistreated her." He clarified. "She is the one who refused to eat or drink after… the news."
He said the last part quietly as he looked away in shame. When he said that more tears showed on (Y/n) at the memory and pulled Shuri back into a hug, squeezing her as hard as she can, which wasn't a lot but it was enough for the princess who hugged her back crying silently.
"I'm so sorry my dear." (Y/n) said her voice horse from not talking or consuming anything. "I…I wish I was there… I should have…"
"You have nothing to apologize for." Shuri assured as she cut her off. "Let's just go back home."
(Y/n) let out a sound of surprise as Shuri hooked her left arm under her legs and the right one on her back before lifting her up, which shocked the weak woman.
"Are you wearing some type of a new upgrade?.. Because I'm sure that I haven't lost THAT much weight for you to just lift me like I weigh nothing."
Her question made Shuri laugh as she carried her outside the cave, passing by Namor who stayed out of their way and just followed them silently. When they reached the edge of the pool Shuri was moving around (Y/n) to give her the latest update that would help her swim easily even in her weak state. During that, she would steal glances at Namor and each time his eyes never left her. She wanted to say something but couldn't or didn't know what to say, and from his few glances at Shuri, she can tell that he was also hesitant to speak. The sound of reeving power pulled her out of her thoughts as she saw the machine wrapped around her glitter with pulsed energy indicating that it was ready.
"We can go now, just make sure you stay close to me."
She instructed before reaching around her neck to activate the mask but (Y/n) stopped her, which earned her a confused look, but her great-aunt simply turned to the king who was still standing there. Namor's face showed no emotion but he was preparing himself for her to lecture him, insult him, curse him, let out her pent-up anger, and maybe even express her disappointment since she did warn him that his rash actions would cause him to lose in more ways than one. but he didn't count on her to give him a kind smile as if they were close friends.
"I will see you again."
Not a question, but a promise. If the feeling of surprise was obvious on his face then none of the women mentioned it as they dived into the water and left. When he broke out of his surprised state he just scuffed and went back to his chamber where he will paint a mural of the battle that took place against the black panther for his people's history. But in a different part of the room, one where it was mostly for himself he painted the immortal woman, when she interacted with him, when she saved the maid, and when she was his prisoner.
"I will see you again."
The promise echoed in his head, which made him unconsciously smile while he painted her smile, secretly excited and hoping for the next meeting to come soon.
---
(Y/n) sat on her private beach under the umbrella with a book in hand, trying to relax but her eyes kept scanning over the same paragraph without absorbing any of the words as she kept recalling what happened on her last visit to Wakanda which was last week.
"I'm sorry, what??" (Y/n) exclaimed as she stared at the screen that the A.I presented for both her and Shuri, who also was in disbelief.
"Your body aged 2 years." Griot repeated as he held up 2 pictures of (Y/n) on the glass screen and started noting the slight differences. "There are discreet changes, for example, Your muscles and bones have grown stronger, your weight changed, which brings up your metabolism lowering very slightly, but it is still noticeable like the start of wrinkles showing around the eyes and acne surfacing-"
"That's enough, Griot." Shuri cuts him off as she stares at (Y/n) who was in shock.
She always knew that she was still a mortal despite her long life but for it to finally start to come close to an end without her being aware of it was overwhelming. Shuri did not leave (Y/n)'s side since they found out, she did her best to comfort her great aunt, even starting teasing her and listing to all the possible people that she had met that could be her soulmate, but (Y/n) shot every possibility down for she already had someone in mind and instead of explaining it to the now queen of Wakanda she excused herself to have alone time.
Shuri thought that when she said she wanted to be alone was to be left in her room until (Y/n) was ready to talk, she didn't expect to talk to her great aunt via call scolding her on when and how she left Wakanda without saying anything. But they worked it out. And here she was now, convincing herself that she just needed time to think about what to do next and how to approach the situation when she was in fact too afraid to actually face it.
"So this is where you have been hiding?"
A familiar voice asked making her jump away and take a fighting stance, an instinct she has from years of fighting and being ambushed, but she stopped when she saw that standing in front of her was none other than Namor, but he looked different.
"Did you grow a beard?" Was the first thing that came out of her mouth, which made him chuckle.
"Yes, it is nice to meet you again too." He replied sarcastically.
Namor still looked young except for the small amount of facial hair that looked well taken care of, and he felt her staring because he subconsciously reached his hand to his face and started scratching his beard as he averted his eyes.
"I always wanted to grow one but never got the chance with my body stuck at a certain age." He started explaining. "You could imagine my surprise when a few months after my battle with Wakanda that hair started to grow on my face."
His eyes then met hears again, none of them saying anything but the silence was loud enough for (Y/n) to understand what he was trying to say. Saying nothing the woman sat back down at her spot but this time made space beside her and patted it encouraging the king to set beside her, which he hesitantly did. They stayed quiet for a long time before he finally spoke.
"You have your own part of the sea?" it was more of a statement than a question.
"It's called a private beach." (Y/n) explained. "You can imagine how crowded and dirty public beaches are, and since I have a lot of money I bought my own, not even fishing boats are allowed around here."
"This part of the water did look cleaner as I came closer and the creatures beneath are thriving from the lack of fishermen and filth."
"I do my best to have my own little piece of heaven in this world." She shrugged, trying to hide some of the happiness she felt from his comment.
It was silence again between them, only the sound of the crashing waves can be heard, which eased any anxiety the two might have felt.
"How are your people?  Since … well, you know…" She asked awkwardly just wanting to break the silence.
"They are well." He answered. "The black panther kept her promise on protecting my people's safety, although some of them are still unsure of the treaty."
"You say it as if you were ok with it." He tried to say something but she stopped him. "Don't even try to say you aren't, I know it was hard for you to submit."
She could practically see him tense for a moment as he clenched his jaws, probably angry but forced himself to calm down as he took a few breaths and closed his eyes.
"I will do anything for my people's safety… even if it means yielding to a worthy opponent."
"what wise words, I see you have grown more than just a beard and a mustache I see." (Y/n) teased him with a smile.
"A person grows in many ways throughout life…" He said before averting his eyes to the sea. "… Especially after meeting their soulmate."
(Y/n) eyes widened slightly as she too averted her eyes to the sea thinking about what to say next. She knew she can't escape the topic, but it didn't make it any easier to face it.
"When did you find out?"
"I wasn't sure at first." He started to explain. "When I noticed the changes in my body years ago I suspected that it could be either you or the panther."
"Then why didn't you say anything?" She asked annoyance clear in her voice. "It must have been nice having all that time to accept what is happening, but I only found out about my aging a couple of days ago."
"After the battle and everything that I have done, I wasn't sure if either of you wanted to see me again, let alone accept me as a soulmate." He explained as he turned fully to face her. "You must understand my hesitation to come up to the person I imprisoned or killed their mother and ask them to be with me."
 Of course (Y/n) understood, but it is still frustrated her that he knew and she didn't, that he had the time to get in terms with this new reality, then come to her and confront her…
"Wait… how did you know it was me?" She questioned. "You keep saying that you suspected that it was either me or Shuri."
"She called me." He answered. "She used the shell I gave her to call me and she told me it was about you and how to reach you."
"So much for a private beach." (Y/n) muttered to herself.
"Are you…. Are you disappointed?" He stuttered out the question causing (Y/n) to almost snap her neck with how fast she turned to him in shock.
"What?"
There was a look of concern and uncertainty, dare she say even fear in his face as he tried repeating the question.
"Are you disappointed?" He asked again this time more firmly.
"About what?" She asked not because she was confused but rather because she was unsure if he was indeed asking her that.
"About me being your soulmate." He continued. "I know it must be how you feel given the brief past we had. But that was in different situations, we can start anew as you humans put it, to know each other more before deciding hastily to not see each other again and then-"
"Wait! Wait wait wait WAIT!"
(Y/n) interrupted him quickly catching the king by surprise at her sudden outburst, her hands were up wanting him to halt any more words but her face was facing down, so he was not able to see her expression. He started panicking a little when her shoulders were shaking slightly, thinking the reality of their bond upset her, but his confusion grew when she started giggling before letting out a bark of laughter. Her sudden change of behavior was alarming to the king, dare he say he was offended.
"Can I ask why are you laughing at my confession?" He asked calmly yet the silent anger behind it was very clear.
It didn't intimidate (Y/n), but she forced herself to calm down for her soulmate seems to have a very short temper, which she noted to herself to work on with him. She stopped her laughter but her smile was still showing.
"Sorry, I'm not laughing at you, but at what you said." When gave a confused look she started explaining. "You came here confessing to me how you thought your soulmate could be either the warrior queen of Wakanda who also happens to be the new Black Panther or some woman with no title nor magic power of some kind and you ask me if I was disappointed with having the king of an underwater city, who is worshiped as a god, for a soulmate."
He seems to understand her view on the matter, but he still shook his head as if disappointed. He reached forward slowly for her hand as if expecting her to pull away but when she didn't he was confident enough to grasp her hand. His rough fingers were tracing the lines in the palm of her hand.
"You are… a woman, a human woman who  doesn't have the power of the panther nor that of a god." He stated making her narrow her eyes at him.
"Buuut?" (Y/n) asked calmly yet that was this small hint of irritation, which made him chuckle. Seeing his smile made her show a smile of her own.
"But...You still walked this earth as one."
"As one you mean?" she trailed off confused.
"As a creature who pushes beyond the limitation they were given." He continued before looking up at her, his eyes holding softness towards her. "The panther told me of your past, or at least what she knows of it."
If he felt her hand tense in his hold he said nothing and just continued to rub the palm of her hand with his thump, it helped soothe her nerves but she still felt uneasy about what he had to say next.
"I don't know what you exactly did, but I know enough to tell from our short time together… that you didn't set back and watched as the world passed by around you. Learning everything the world has to give and returning it by helping those around you. You had a great part in building this world, even when they don't deserve it."
(Y/n) didn't know whether to roll her eyes or laugh at his last statement. They have to work on that attitude of his if they are going to act on what is happening between them.
"I understand how you feel." She finally said, getting the king's full attention. "But I decide who deserves me or my labors, whether they would misuse it or not I will be the judge of that and will take responsibility for it."
Namor said nothing and just nodded and looked away toward the crashing waves whether he respected her ideas or not he didn't show it. for a while, neither of them said anything, both of them collecting their thoughts on what to say next, and the sea king seems to beat her to it.
"What do you want to do?" He asked giving her a side glance of curiosity before looking back to the sea. His question was simple yet the real meaning behind it was real. Do you want to have anything to do with me?
"First, I want to know you more." She answered in all honesty. "I don't want to rush anything between us only to be hurt later on."
"We are soulmates." He said in an almost hurried manner probably from the fear of rejection, she gave him a reassuring smile.
"I know, I just wish to understand why did fate bind 2 different souls from 2 different worlds together."
(Y/n) explained genuinely while extending her hand to his face she stopped inches away from his face, silently asking for permission, which he gave by resting his cheek in the palm of her hand and closing his eyes as if relishing in the feeling of her hand caressing his face. She brought her other hand up to hold the other side of his face and stroked his checks while her other fingers were gently scratching his beard. She can tell Namor was enjoying her attention towards him but she had to break the moment by pulling away and causing a frown and confused look to show on his face.
"Second…" She said, reminding him of the unfinished conversation. "I need to contact some… special people I know."
"Do you mean the panther?" He asked, thinking she needed to tell her of their decision.
"Well, I will have to speak to her too, but no. I need to talk to some people who might help with our…. situation."
"Situation?" He repeated confused. (Y/n) bit her lip finding it hard to explain.
"You age very slowly… I don't." She said gently,  his eyes widened slightly as if he had just realized it himself, she didn't like the sadness that started showing on his face so she explained. "I will just ask them if they have a way to extend my life."
He just nodded and gave a small smile, but the sadness was still clear in his eyes. (Y/n) knows the pain of watching the people you love grow old and disappear with time and not being able to do anything about it, but from what Shuri told her, Namor experienced this since his eyes opened to the world around him. Like her, he probably also hoped that his soulmate would show up soon to escape the loneliness. But she turned out to be a mortal, and with the time-freezing spell being lifted after their meeting, she will age in human speed while he will return to watching silently as the world kept moving fast around him, seeing people come and go into their world… including herself…
"Hey…" (Y/n) called catching the king's attention, he was met with her attempt at a comforting smile, which eased some of the grief he was feeling. "Those people live far away from any body of water but maybe I can contact one of them to come here, or maybe you can join me? You Can see some of the world and maybe even meet new people? I can understand if you don't want to, but if you did then I promise you there will be a lot of traveling to strange places. Fair warning seas king your soulmate here loves to travel a lot."
She teased him at that last part still smiling. (Y/n) she was asking him too much, not that she expected him to come with her considering not only his responsibility to his people but also his hatred for humanity, but she still wanted him to know that he is always welcome to be with her whenever he wishes to. Namor looked her in the eyes, his piercing dark eyes that 2 years ago looked at her with such loathing, now held nothing but softness towards her.
"Anywhere with you is everywhere I want to be."
Those words were spoken with such sincerity before he leaned forward and placed a kiss on top of her forehead, leaving her shocked as she stared at him with wide eyes, but the shock melted off her face and was replaced with a playful grin as she hit his shoulder.
"Don't get all sentimental on me, I thought you were a relentless sea king, not a softy lover."
"I am your lover now?" Namor asked as he scooted closer to her.
"You focused on that and not the relentless part?" (Y/n) questioned back with a raised brow.
"If it means I'm yours in the end, then yes." He had such a happy grin on his face that made her blush with how handsome he looked.
"You are so arrogant." She stated with a small chuckle as she tried to hide her face.
"But I'm yours." He replied confidently as he tried to make her look at him again.
"You're hot-tempered."
"I prefer fiery."
"God, you're obnoxious."
"Still yours."
(Y/n) was trying to push him away with every word she threw at him while fighting back laughter, but Namor kept leaning forward to her, enjoying this little game between them and wanting to enjoy her expression longer.
"Don't tell me you're going to be this clingy all the time?"
"More like affectionate and protective."
"Yeah, I have seen you being "protective" before, I know what that really means."
"Good, that means I don't have to hide it."
"what? Wait-"
(Y/n) let out a small screech as the Talokan king throw himself over her, just to lock his arms around her so she cannot escape his hold. She struggled and even hit his arms playfully, ordering him to let her go, but he wouldn't budge and just buried his face in the top of her head and closed his eyes, having a look of pure satisfaction. Seeing that, caused (Y/n) to show a smile of her own and decided to just give up the playful struggle, closed her eyes, and just relished the feeling of finally being complete.

The Ocean. Big, blue, beautiful. The last time you saw it in daylight may have been over a month ago— under different circumstances too. The last you saw it, you were with friends. Smiling, having fun and planning on what to do for the night and coming days you were to be in Cancún. But now, you were walking to an unknown village, with unknown children in an unknown area.
No song. You still couldn’t believe it. Peace and quiet stayed in your mind. Your thoughts were yours, purely yours. Nothing loud and screaming, overtaking every nerve and inch of your body as you stared at the sea. Your skin, mind, and body were your own. Not belonging to the ocean and that unknown far off force. You felt whole. You can’t remember ever feeling like this.
But why was it suddenly quiet? Was it your location, the people you were with? Maybe you have been here before. The way the sun felt against your skin and how the sand dug into your thighs felt like a warm embrace you had long forgotten. Memories wanted to swarm and flood your brain but it had felt like something was holding them back, everything in the back of your mind. Blocked out by the hunger, thirst, and confusion you felt.
You really should be on guard, noting where and how far you were going but you kept drifting off. Staring at that open blue water. The light of the sun shining like crystal diamonds on its surface, luring you in closer and closer. Though you didn’t hear its song, the urge to get out of the heat made you wish for the cold relief of the water. With each step, you lean farther and farther to the left, closer to the water. You couldn’t help but try to see if it held the answers to your questions.
You weren’t sweating as harshly as before, only a few droplets formed on the edge of your brows as you walked. Sofia didn’t seem to mind or care, she never let go of your hand despite the sweat and humid feel of skin against skin.
It had almost been 10 minutes since you started walking, yet her smile didn’t fade. The bright red on her round cheeks didn’t cease as she kept looking back at you every few steps you took.
Her friends stayed a few feet behind. They hadn’t oppose her bringing you along and back to their home with them, but you could tell they did not like it, or for the very least very unsure. They stayed quiet, glaring and catching each movement and breath you took.
The two girls were older than their small friend. One taller and come into her features, a teen. Long golden wavy hair with deep brown eyes, almost black. Her gaze burned the brightest as she stared where your hands interlocked. The other was more anxious— scared— than intimidating. Shorter in height, small shoulder length curls hung from her head and wide hazel eyes looked back and forth between you and the friend she walked with.
You should be a responsible adult, ask them if this was alright, tell them what you really came here for. But the drag of your feet along the sand, heavier with each step and the shoes you wore, you didn’t seem to care anymore. Your thighs continued to rub against each other, the dull ache made worse with the sand that had gotten caught in between when you had fallen and sat in the sand.
You began to feel unsure of how much longer you could last standing or walking anymore. The heat, exhaustion, and hunger came at your body all at once and wrecked you as if you had been hit by a truck. You tried, you really did, to continue walking.
But you began to pray you were close to wherever this child was taking you, praying for the sight of someone or something that wasn’t neverending sand and water.
You were lost in your mind, eyes drooping lazily, blinking away the sweat that had slowly begun to build more and drop down onto your lashes, until the pulling of your arm became more intense.
Your hand was pulled forward, body jolting forward at the sudden and immense orce you could remember from before. Your eyes widened, looking down to the girl who held it, only to see her practically hauling you to that big bush of trees that had stayed in your line of vision for the last few minutes.
Only this time, the trees had an opening. And you finally noticed where she was pulling you.
Small colorful boats lined up against the tall green trees, tied against the trunks. They all pointed in one direction— towards the tables and chairs spread across the sand covered tall man made umbrellas,and tiny firepits scattered across the beach. Signs of life. Human life.
There was a man and a woman working at a small hut which looked to be a bar style restaurant, shouting at each other as music poured loudly through the small area you were in. They held colorful decorations in their hands, pink and green and blue party streamers. Fairy lights and small balloons were tied to the posts of the huts roof. Banners of white with colorful writing hung from the tin ceiling and confetti scattered along the table top of the large table in the middle of the area.The scent of food lingered in the air, filling your nostrils and lungs. You mouth water and you could practically taste what they were cooking.
“Don!” Sofia suddenly yells, pulling you harder and harder with each step. She lets go of one of your hands, waving her now free one in the air. The long fingers practically flew everywhere from how fast she waved her arm.
The man she called out for turned around from where he stood. The woman next to him turned her head as well.
Sun kissed and old wrinkled faces turn in your direction. At first, they lit up with joy. A soft type of kindness you yourself showed whenever you saw a family member. But those welcoming faces soon turned to muted ones of shock and fear as they took you in.
Nerves began to build up in your belly, the fear and worry you had previously been holding at bay taking over as the reality of a strange child finding you stranded and bringing you back to her home was not at all “normal”.
You bit your lip, your best attempt to hush yourself and try to ease out the anxiety and slowly build. You could feel it in your toes and fingertips, curling them with each step closer to those people the little girl seemed to know.
“¿Sabes dónde está mi abuela? ” Sofia asks them. So sweet, so innocent. Do you know where my grandma is?
The two adults stare at her. Their eyes moving back and forth between her, you, and each other. Their mouths opened slightly, creating an ‘O’ shape. The women's brows were almost raised up to her forehead, her face painted in shock and hesitation as she looked at the man on what to do. It seems he didn't know either, though his expression wasn’t painted on his face as clearly as hers. You could still see the shock in his deep set eyes, the way they widened only a bit, before he looked back at the woman and back to you.
A few beats passed, though they felt like an eternity, and he finally let out a deep sigh. A low whistle escaped his pursed lips, and he now pointed to the trees behind him.
“A la mejor está en su casa, pero no te lo juro.” He says. His voice was deep, dry and scratchy as if he needed a drink of water. It was tired as well, slurring slightly at each end of his words. Hopefully she’s in her house, but i don’t swear by it
You look towards where he points and there, standing in a small clearing between two tall palms, lay what you could tell to be a cement pathway. A way into the village. From here, you could see the distant brightly colored houses. You could have more children laughing, a mixed genre of music and more people shouting, blending together into one as the lapping of the waves filled the back of your mind.
“¡Gracias Beto!” Sofia yells. She looked back at you for a second, smiling even wider if now possible, before running ahead.
You looked at the man once, Beto, finally making eye contact. He looked you up and down, weary of who you were and what you are no doubt. But hunger struck once more, the growls and roars bursting through as you smiled slightly to him before following the little girl.
The change from sand to a sturdy dirt ground was greatly welcomed as you walked up to the small ledge that parted the two lands from separating.
But you couldn’t help but stare at your dirty and bruised legs before taking a few steps , wondering if you should actually go through with this plan. What’s stopping you from going back? Who’s to say Namor is coming for you? What if that voice and feeling were all in your head?
But hey, at least you’ve gotten this far.
~~~
The village was small, various cement houses of bright blues, yellows, and pinks spread out far but close enough to create a square. A small plaza of benches and a gazebo with papel picado hanging from lines lay in the center of it all. The streams connected go the edges of each house and all gather towards the center of that small golden building. It wasn’t grand, the small town could be considered dull with only what looks to be a corner store and a restaurant.
You saw children running through the streets, the clacking of sandals across the floor heard with the loud laughter of older kids and the crying of the younger ones filled your ears as you walked past them. Men and women sat in the middle of the plaza, laughing, gossiping, fighting, listening to music. People lingered on sidewalks, chatting and talking with others who poked their front halves outside their home windows.
The scent of food grew stronger, you could practically taste each ingredient and spice that had been added to that delicious smell. It smelled like birria. Rich and spicy, it reminded you of your mothers as you swallowed the building saliva in your mouth.
The sun didn’t seem as harsh anymore, the shade of the tall palm trees surrounding the village was welcomed greatly— along with the gentle breeze you felt with each house you passed, the fans from the inside being kind enough to expel some air outside as well. The harsh drag on your feet due to the sand wasn’t there anymore as you stepped on the rough concrete, though still a jagged and rocky— it was greatly welcomed.
As you looked around the small village, you began to feel as if you had been there before. The way the light hit the small golden needle at the top of the gazebo, you swore you had seen it before. Whether in dream or reality, it felt oddly familiar. Every step you took you couldn't help but glance at it— the feeling of being young and running through your family's rancho with your friends without a care in the world filled your heart.
Sofia continued to pull on your hand, yanking at it each time you slowed down to give your chafing thighs a break.
“Ya mero!” almost
You rolled your eyes and let out a sigh of relief, a smile rising from the corner of your cheeks. She talked to you as if you were family, reminding you of younger cousins and niece and nephews the way her tone changed when you did something she didn’t seem to like. Most children held back, she did not. You liked it, her boldness.
You soon came to a stop in front of a white house. Tall with a spanish tile rooftop, the curved brick complemented by rich dark brown window sills. Though the house was made of rough and hard cement, the wooden windows were slick and shiny, unlike the other houses where their wood was dull and dusty. Those you could get a splinter but here, the sanded round edges wouldn't allow that. You admired the fine craftsmanship of the house, noting that whoever owned this house cared for quality. What you could tell, every little plant and decoration this person had on the exterior was fine and crafted with precise work. Everything but a small wind chime of blue shells and crystals that hung outside the one window in front of the house— if caught your eye, and that familiar feeling inside of you grew.
“Queda te aquí, ahorita regreso.” Sofia says, but you don’t look away as she stepped inside that house. You could see the shiny porcelain floor reflecting light from the corner of your eyes, but the way the crystals and glass that hung outside shone more beautifully than anything.
Specks of light danced in circles with each other around its wooden surroundings. The window was wide enough you could see the layout of the room it lay outside of. The rich blue and white colors of the pillows and blankets inside neatly blended into the chimes light blues and greens. The shells that hung from the chime reminded you of ones you had once seen on the beach of your family's home. Ones you had picked up and carried in a small blue sand pail.
You remember that pail, why you got those shells and exactly why they stood out in your memory.
The memory of dragging your sister and brothers to the small walkway of the town, out onto the open sea just so they could help you gather sea shells and glass to create a piece of work for your aunt flooded your mind as you continued to stare at the small bundle of strings and beads. That piece of artwork was actually a wind chime you recalled. In fact, it looked exactly like the one you saw before you.
The realization only hit after you heard the clacking of sandals behind you. You swiftly glance in its direction, and are greeted by eyes that look like yours.
They were old in age, crows feet and wrinkles sagged around them but you could see and feel the life and fire that burned inside of them. They were your grandmothers— your mother once said to you she had only ever seen her, you, and her sister have eyes like that. That they were unforgettable, a thing that could always linger in the back of your mind even if you never saw them again.
And she was right. They were absolutely unforgettable.
The breath of your lungs escaped you slowly as you stared at your Tia, who was now holding the small hand of the little girl beside her, Sofia.
Now you finally realized she felt so familiar. Why she had said you looked like her grandma.
“Tia-“ You tried to begin, managed to take a breath of air. But she ran to you before you could even finish the word, shoving you into her arms.
Her hold was tight, strong hands burying themselves in your hair as she tightly held your head against hers. She breathed you in, nose tucked in between your curls and lips gently kissing your cheek before she finally managed to say your name. She said it so quietly. But even then, the feeling like you were home washed over you.
You hesitantly lifted your arms up, scared to embrace her back. Scared that if the second you were to touch her, she’d vanish the moment fingertips reached her back.
But she didn’t. She was real, the grasp and feel of her thin shirt between your fingers was real.
You closed your eyes, relishing in that feeling she brought to you. You close your eyes tightly, just enough to keep those small tears of relief from dripping down your cheeks.
(Spanish will be written in english from this point forward)
You practically swallowed the food in one bite, gulping down spoonful after spoonful. You barely chewed, like a feral animal who hadn’t eaten in weeks and was now presented before a feast, though it was hardly anything extravagant. The smell of birria from before had come from her house, the smell still making your mouth water even as you ate the meat in front of you.
You almost moaned at the taste. You had gotten sick of fish and fruit from the small cave. The sudden burst of flavor and different texture was greatly welcomed, you could hardly even believe it was happening. When you were told you could find food in the small village, you did not think it would be a family recipe- didn’t expect to taste a memory from your childhood. Didn’t think to end up in your favorite place in the world either.
You licked the remaining broth from your lips, wiping small red dots left on the corners of your lips away as you sighed in relief. You placed your hands on your stomach, now full and no longer aching. A smile formed on your lips, the sunlight that poured in from the open window warmed your cheeks as you felt your Tía’s food warm your stomach.
“Thank you, Tia.” You finally say, taking a swig of the water she gave you. It was sweet, made of piña and had chia seeds inside. The flavored lingers on your tongue as you chew the small remaining pulp from the fruit.
Your aunts eyes—your eyes— gazed at you with all the kindness in the world. Though you could see a small mask of disbelief covering them, you knew you would have to make up an excuse as to why exactly you were here sooner or later.
Your Tia Beatrice, whom everyone called Betty, was one of the nicest women you can ever recall meeting. She was your mothers older sister, but seemed more youthful than all of her siblings. Her hair was a dusty brown, similar to that of Sofia’s, and her skin was tan with sun kissed freckles scattering all across her arms and face. She wore it in a neat bun, hair swooped back as small brightly colored pins held it back into place. It had been a few years since you had seen her last, but that kind and fiery personality lingered in everything she did. Her skin had sagged a bit, her shoulders fallen inward, and her back wasn’t as straight as before, but the energy that she radiated would make you believe she had not aged at all.
Every movement and word she spoke, it reminded you of why you had always admired her.
“It’s not a problem mija.” She says sweetly, her voice smooth and tender- just how you remembered. It made chills run down your spine as she grabbed your hand and placed it into hers. Soft wrinkled hands wrapped around your dry and calloused ones. Her fingers were slim and long, though knobby and hugging her bones, they looked as if they had never worked a day of hardship. You knew otherwise though, for if you looked close enough, you could see tiny white scars lingering across her hands
They reminded you of Namors, you thought. Though his hands were larger than hers, much thicker, and skin tanner as well, his hands were full of those tiny white scars as well.
Strange- how a God and a woman from nowhere can share a small similarity. Both led two different lives, had two different reasons for the scars, different healing times but nevertheless— those scars meant they were real.
You stared at her hands as you thought about him. A slight surge of panic creeping up from the back of your mind as you finally remembered him. That he was here with you as well.
You lifted your head slightly, not too quickly as to not surprise your tia but still fast enough. Lush green plants surrounded the window, blocking a few corners of your view outside into the world.The village was by no means large, memories of being here as a child slowly rising now that you weren’t so famished and could think properly. Everyone knew each other here, every neighbor knew every child, adult, cat, or dog here. So if Namor were to suddenly arrive, you would no doubt be able to tell if he did.
But it looked the same, nothing changed from the scene you arrived to. Children played and ran along the middle of the plaza, adults strolled on by, and the sound of music hadn’t stopped. Everyone minded their own business, not a sign of something new and strange appearing.
You sigh, looking back to your tia with a shy smile before standing up and asking where the sink was to wash your plate. “I’ll show you.” She says, standing up and leading you through the beaded curtain next to the dining room and into the kitchen.
The kitchen was simple. You spot the white tiled walls with small blue accents everywhere, reminding you of mediterranean styled ones. More blue and yellow accents continued in the decorative plates and fruit, making the room blend into one.
You spot the sink and go up to it. Grabbing the damp and still soapy sponge, you turn on the water and begin. As you do so, Betty begins to speak as well.
“Mija, I have no problem with you being here- and you know this of course! But I just have to ask, why are you here?” The words stun you. Even though you knew she would eventually ask and you would have to make an excuse, the words still shocked you. “I know that your mother and I aren’t as close as we used to be, but I do think she would have called me. So you can understand why I’m so curious, yes?”
She stands behind the small bar styled counter next to you, leaning forwards and looking right at you. You don’t dare to look at her, fearing that she might see the hesitation in your eyes to answer such a simple question. Though I suppose to you, it was a hard one.
You gulp, feeling small drops of sweat fall onto your brow as you softly and slowly brush the sponge over your plate. The red specks of the remaining broth smudge across the white porcelain you held between your pointer and thumb. You held it tightly, whether for the slippery water or for a way to relieve the tension you wanted to place in your jaw, you could not tell.
“C’mon, think of something!” You tell yourself. “It isn’t even that hard.”
You rush throughout your mind, hoping to find some lame and vague excuse for the time being, something to build a lie upon, but you were cut off. The sound of a voice came from the door.
“Ama!” The voice yells, and you recognize it instantly. Your eyes shoot wide as you turn to face the beaded curtain as soon as she walks through it. Her eyes look to her mother first, seeing her bent over the countertop and facing something else, she turns them to you.
Those big hazel eyes from your childhood stare right back at you, the same that Sofia has. You had no idea why you didn’t make the connection earlier— if your eyes were unforgettable, then what were hers? Shock ran throughout your body strong enough that you let go of the bowl you held in your hands. It fell and softly clattered on the tin walls of the sink as a wide and stupid grin formed on your face.
She screams, running to you faster than you could even comprehend. She nearly sends you flying back, your soapy hands wrapping around her exposed back for leverage and sobs begin to leave her mouth.
The jolts and sounds of her cries shake you to your core, your own eyes tearing up as you bury your head in the spot where her shoulder and neck meet. Tears fall onto her skin, as you both begin to laugh— you and your cousin, Yessenia. Sofia’s mom.
“God! Just look at you!” She shouts, pulling back and holding you by the shoulders to get a good look. “I haven’t seen you in years, what happened?” She asks, the wide smile on her face not budging an inch.
“Well y'know, shit happens.” You laugh, raising your hands to meet her own shoulders, steadying yourself from the small shake she gave you. Your still wet and soapy fingers dig into her plush arms, but she doesn’t seem to care.
“I bet!” Yessenia laughs as well, patting your shoulders before suddenly remembering something.
“Oh, and speaking about shit happening,” She turns back to Betty, the smile on her lips fading for a moment, her tone going serious,she finishes, “There’s a man at the door.”
~~~
You knew exactly who it was the moment the word man left her lips.
It hadn’t even been an hour, maybe half since you had been apart, but you had almost forgotten how beautiful he was. And in the sun? You swore you could stare at him like that for a lifetime.
You lingered in the small doorway that seperated the entrance of the house and the dining room, peering your head slightly around the small bend as Yessenia held your arm as if to hold you back.
“I saw him walking on my way back here from the main road. Said he was looking for someone here but I’ve never seen him before.” Your cousin begins to explain, her own head peeking out to see him as well. “Since you’re the newest thing here, I assume that's you prima. Was bringing him to my mom so she could point him in the right direction but it seems as if I ended up doing that myself, yeah?” She nudges your shoulder as she watches you look at him.
There’s no doubt she could see something in your eyes as you continued to study that faint but radiant glow that radiated off his skin. The thin layer of sweat that had built on his skin made him look fresh and dewey— and with the top of his shirt slightly unbuttoned? You could’ve fallen to your knees.
“Yeah, I know him.” You said quietly, half afraid those pointed ears might have some kind of super hearing and would pick up on how breathlessly you said the words. With all his other abilities, you wouldn’t be surprised if he did.
“So? Cmon introduce us.” Your cousin teases, pulling at the arm she held. You hiss, furrowing your brows at the slight pain the tugging caused.
“Aye!” You groan, turning to her and lightly punching her own back. She lets out a whine in response. Turning to Betty like a child, she asks her mother for help. Your tia rolls her eyes, chuckling and shaking her head at the two of you.
“She’s right though, are you going to introduce us?” Betty asks, a sly grin making its way onto her lips.
“You too?” You sigh, shaking your head and fighting the smile that wants from your lips as you turn your head back to the door.
In the few moments that you had your head turned, you had obviously expected nothing to change. You expected to turn around and see Namor standing there, doing nothing and talking to no one as the sun continued to shine on his skin, but you were wrong. Sofia now stood in front of him, having come from nowhere.
She stared at him with wide eyes, now full of wonder, sparkling with the rays of the sun as she stared and studied at every dent and wrinkle in his skin. They wandered from the tip of his nose to the ends of his pointed ears. Namor only stared back, his face disinterested and calm as he looked down at the small child.
Terrifying is what he would be called by many other children. The big, strong, and scary man that girls and boys would see from 10 feet away and scattered away at the intimidating aura around him. But not to her, no. You had no idea where she had come from, the last time you saw her being when she led you to your tia. Even if you had just met her today, you could already understand his child has a way of doing the unexpected. Much like her mother, there was a wide and curious smile on her lips as Sofia asked him for his name.
Your eyes widened and you found yourself walking towards the two the second you saw her mouth open to speak.
“Hey!” You shout, practically racing out the door the last few steps.
Sofia nervously backs away, doing the opposite of the man in front you who takes a small step closer.
Namors eyes widen, softening for a mere second as you come to a stop in front of the two. You smile at him, nodding your head in a small greeting, and a bit inside of your belly builds with nerves. The reality that you would have to introduce him soon hitting you like a truck. Your palms slightly begin to sweat, you tap your foot softly against the dirt of the floor, blinking fastly as you try to stutter out some words to say, wanting to rid of the silence you had just caused.
But the anxiety stops when he calls your name. Like a cool bucket of water has been dumped on you, every restless inch of you calmed down.
“I have been looking for you.” He tells you, the words smooth and softly hitting your ears.Your heart flutters at the sound.
“I’ve been waiting.” You respond, a shy smile creeping up on your lips.
You've seen him smile brighter than how he is right now, but it was something in his eyes that made the ones from before completely dull to how he did in that moment. Only the very corners of his lips lifted, not fully reaching his eyes which showed his true emotions. They were inexplicable, but you— you understood them. That tug in your soul you felt from before soothing your heart strings. You smiled back.
But your calm heart soon went haywire, stunning and shocking you as you felt Yessenia brush past you without warning.
“Sofia!” She shouts, reaching down for her daughter. The girl, who had been focused on you and Namor, turned to her mother. Sofias face lit up immediately, her chubby cheeks glowing red and arms widening as she ran to her mother.
They embrace each other, big arms wrapping around a small body as smaller arms wrap around a much larger one. She buries her face in her daughters neck, stuffing her nose in her daughters neck. As if it had been a while since they last saw each other.
You step aside, moving closer to Namor. You instinctively reach for his hand, and he grabs it. He gives you a small squeeze, and you do it in return.
You smile, heart warming as you watch your cousin and her daughter talk—about how their day went, what they saw, who they met. Sofias head tilted back towards you when that was asked, her bright eyes landing on your face and taking you in. You’re not sure if your Tia had told her what you were to her, but you had a feeling she knew. Though her eye didn’t stay on you for long, for they quickly moved to Namor. The grin on her face carving itself into more of an ‘O’ as curiosity began to make its way back into her face.
Yessenia noticed, immediately turning her own brightly hazel eyes to him. They studied his face for a few beats before wandering down. To where both your hands met. They widened, her own face mimicking that of the child still in her arms
oh
You stiffened, shoulders squaring as your cousin lifted herself from the floor.
She and Sofia almost looked identical like this. The way the curves of their cheeks lifted, the wrinkles caused from the slight grin in their lips, hair a puffy mess due to the heat. Mother and daughter.
“So uh,” Your cousin begins, “Would you like to come in?”
~~~
You sat at the edge of the table, an orange in your hands as you peeled the sticky and bitter peel off. Its leftovers curl into one large peel of its own, falling over your hands and onto the table.
Namor sat next to you, a spoon in his hand as he slowly and deftly ate a bowl of birria your aunt served him. The red broth spilling and staining the corners of his lips as it did to you. You had eaten with urgency unlike him. So calm, so out of place he was.
His hardened and intense features against a light and calm background, like a bull in a china shop. Though he was elegant in every move he made, almost diplomatic and composed, you had somehow forgotten he was a king. You wondered if they did things differently in Talokan, but you didn’t have time to think of that right now.
Your aunt stared daggers into him. She sat across from him, arms crossed and lips tight as she studied every spoonful and breath. Every twitch, every movement of his fingers, she knew and wrote down in her mind.
Your cousin sat next to her, her body the opposite of her mothers. Whereas Betty's posture was firm, back straight and head tall— Yessenia’s shoulders caved in, her hands in between her knees, and her brows raised high as she continuously glanced between them like a scared child, no doubt anxious of what her mother might say
Sofia sat next to you, her long legs having fallen into your lap as she lay her head on the table, observing the adults around her
Everyone sat in an uncomfortable silence, the only sound being the soft tearing of the orange from its skin and the occasional clunking of spoon against porcelain.
You teeth clenched, jaw tight as you tried to focus on the fruit you were peeling— trying to stop your hands from trembling.
You couldn’t explain why you would begin to tremble if you did, you just knew you would.
You believed it was for the questions your Tia may ask, about who Namor was, and how she would ask why you were here again. But you had done nothing wrong, right? You know your mother and aunt aren’t as close to each other as they were when you were growing up, but even then. Family would tell family when one went missing right?
Your stomach churned, thinking about how maybe your mother had called them. Maybe she has told them you disappeared, that you may have been kidnapped. Maybe they thought he had stolen you. (though he technically did-)
Your breath hitched, chest caving as the idea of all those possibilities came rushing in. You almost banged your hands on the table when your Tia suddenly moved, placing her hands on the table and leaning forward, only by an inch. But enough that you could tell she was trying to intimidate the man next to you.
She never backed down from a fight, you knew that. Your mother would tell you stories of how many fights her older sister had gotten into when they were younger. How Betty always came home with cuts and bruises, a bandage on her face every week from a new fight. And she fought for a reason, she liked to look out for those she cared for. Many picked on your mother growing up, their younger brother, and Betty’s friends. She didn’t hesitate to throw a punch.
But as she grew older her short temper faded, but that didn’t mean she had left fighting behind. She was passionate, a fire always burned in those eyes of hers— those eyes that belonged to you as well.
Even in her age, you knew she would fight Namor if he had done something truly terrible. Whereas many women fought with words, Betty liked to use both. And even if she knew he was a King— the serpent god K’uk’ulkan— she would still fight him.
She placed her hands on the table, fingers playing with the small table mat they had landed on. She stared right at him, eyes like a calm ocean that could explode into a sea of chaos if ticked off.
“So,” She suddenly spoke, her voice loud as it broke through the silence, “Why are you two here?”
The same question from before.
You looked at Namor, eyeing from the side and nudging his foot.
‘What do I say?’ You wanted to ask him. You tried to shout down that invisible string, your heart and soul crying out towards him as your hands squeezed the orange you held. Juices began to spurt, as you waited for an answer.
‘Whatever feels right’ The words came quickly, like a caress to your bones as they arrived.
You turned your head to find him look at you, eyes soft. That was enough to give you the courage to finally speak.
“My friends and I came to México for a trip, but I ended up running into him.” You began, nodding your head towards Namor as you said the last word. “He’s a friend of a friend, told me he was heading over here and I told him I had family in these parts. He offered to bring me to you all but that it might take a while to get here because he had other stops, I told him that was okay.”
You stopped for a beat, trying to study your aunt and cousin's face as the words left your mouth. Yessenia looked convinced, though still wary of her mother’s reaction. Betty did nothing but listen, lips still firm but less tight than to how they were. A sign she might be believing you.
“When we got here, the car broke down. Just a few ways down the main road, we missed our stop, so we got off. We waited for some cars to pass but saw none, I started to get hungry so we trekked off into the woods, trying to look for a path here. We ended up getting lost, I fell down a hill and that was when Sofia found me.” You finished, voice going soft as you said the last few words, looking at the girl next to you. She smiled, but her eyelids were heavy— sleepy from the activities of today no doubt.
The two women in front of you said nothing. Blinking as they looked at each other, and then back at you two.
Namor had finished eating, hands in his lap. He stayed quiet, calm and steady as he had been before. You wondered how he felt about all this, you almost wanted to ask how he would feel if it was him in your situation.
“Ah.” Your Tia simply said, nodding her head.
You turn back to her.
She believed that?
“You both are welcome to stay for as long as you would like,” She continues, “It’s one of our friends birthdays today, so tonight we will be having a feast, you are not obligated to come but it would be greatly appreciated.” Her eyes shift from Namor to you, gaze softening and the fire in her eyes almost vanishing instantly. She says your name, tender and sweet compared to how it was mere seconds ago, edge and intimidation still lingering in the whispering rasps. “I know there are a few people that will be happy to see you back, mija. You may not remember them but they surely remember you.” A smile appears— it seems as if she’s done with your companion.
Yessenia calms herself as well, stiff muscles going soft at the sight of her mother at ease once more. She turns to you as well, hands shooting across the table to grab your own sticky ones.
“Ouu, you’re going to love everyone! You might remember the kids we would play with all the time but everyone else is practically the same- oh my god you need something to wear!” She rambles, the words spilling from her mouth seconds before she could even finish her first thought.
She stands, coming around the table and practically hauling you off of your chair. Your knees buckle, almost falling as she pulls you to her.
You yelp, reaching towards the table, towards anything for stability, and you feel a hand on your back.
Namor holds you up, hands enveloped around your hips and sides to keep you from falling. You look back to see him standing, face firm and concerned for you.
Your face heats, your heart practically begins to pound out of your chest. You stare into his eyes, so intense and ready to protect. Because that's what he said he’d do, protect you.
“Are you alright?” He finally speaks. After minutes of silence, his words are meant for you and only you. As they were when you spoke at the door.
You smile, cheeks rising at the question. “I’m alright.”
His hands loosen from your body at the words. He nods, not doubting your response before backing away gently.
Your cousin only stares and watches the interaction. Take a note of it. Mischief swirls in the depths of her eyes, only for a second, before apologizing and beginning to speaking again.
“C’mon Prima, we’ve got lots of catching up to do.” She lets go of your hands, patting your shoulder and finally setting off to go deeper into the house.
You watch her go, giggling at the carefree woman. If you had not known about Sofia, you wouldn’t have ever guessed that she was a mother.
But before you leave, to turn back to Namor, “Will you be fine on your own?” You ask, not knowing how he might act or feel in an unfamiliar environment.
“I’ll be alright. There are some things I need to do, but I will be back later. I won't leave you. Will not.” He tells you, voice firm and sincere.
“Okay.” You respond, voice soft and barely a whisper as you nod, a shy smile on your lips.
You try to leave, but your feet won't budge. You keep standing in front of him, as if you were unconvinced with his words, almost afraid to go. A gut feeling like if you do, you might not see him again. Your heart cries out again as it did before on that beach. But an answer comes once more.
I’ll be right here.
The words cause a shiver to run down your spine. But you knew it to be true, felt it.
You nod your head, finally turning to follow your cousin.
~~~
The sunset colored the rooms white walls in orange and peach colors.
Your damp hair fanned out onto the sheets as small wet strands continued to cling onto your neck while your cousin brushed her hair from its tangles on a chair near her dresser. The scent of sea salt and citrus blew in from the window as the sounds of distant and muffled music played. You shut your eyes, trying to take your mind off the somewhat itchy fabric of the dress your cousin had lent you.
Most of the afternoon was spent with you and your cousin catching up, chatting and laughing about old and new memories before getting ready for the party you were invited to.
You had spoken about your friends, how your mother and siblings were doing. How you still loved the ocean and swimming. She spoke of her life in return, about those years you missed and what she and her mother did for a living.
You both reminisced on the times of when you were children. Being in her room brought up memories of your old sleepovers, how you would paint each other's nails and braid each other's messy hair. The way you would throw sand at each other and wrestle in the water, always sharing raspados on especially hot days and couldn’t find enough money to buy one for each of you. Though Yessenia had grown, changed her bright pink walls and girly bed sheets, you still noted the small painting you had made together hung up on her mirror.
In fact, when she spoke about Sofia and how she changed her life, she told you that the girl kept her young. That she let the small unhealed part of her childhood free to roam, that it made both her daughter and herself happy. She said she couldn’t be more grateful for that little girl.
The sun continues setting ever so slowly. A glare of light suddenly flashes in your eyes. You groan, throwing your hands in your face and lifting yourself up slowly to get away from the ray of light’s new home.
You sigh, shaking your head as you try to wake your mind from the small nap you tried to take. You stand, arms reaching to the ceiling as you stretch and the door to the room opens.
Sofia runs in, her hair wet and with a new outfit on, Betty following close behind.
You smile, sitting yourself back down on the edge of the bed, Sofia grabbing her mothers brush from her hands before asking you to do her hair.
“You know I used to fo your moms hair when we were little, she could never get the braids right. They always came out lumpy or crooked.” You told the girl who had sat inbetween your legs, parting her hair into three separate strands, brushing out small knots as you did.
“No, you just have a weird head shape.” Your cousin replies, turning her head to you from her seat.
You roll your eyes, snickering before going back to the task at hand. As you did, you felt the side of the bed sag a bit. Your tia had sat down near you, watching and peering over your shoulder as you combed your fingers between her granddaughter's golden locks.
“I could never do hair either- it was your mother who taught me you know.” Her voice was calm, soothing and soft compared to how it was earlier.
You smile, “Do you think it’s too late to teach your daughter?”
“Hey!”
You both snicker, cheeks rising and teeth showing from the small comment.
“Ugh, whatever!” Yessenia rolls her eyes, turning back to her mirror, flipping her hair dramatically as she does. Her jewelry jingled with each wave of her hand, clinking softly as she swiped a faint color of lipstick on her lips.
“Actually, I have a question,” She continues talking, calling your name at the end.
“Yees?” You hum, not too worried about what she was to ask as you focused on carefully parting Sophia's hair into brains. But a light churning in the back of your mind caused the tiniest whirls of anxiety to stir.
“What’s up with him?”
“Huh?” Your head immediately jolts up at the words, peeling your eyes at her. You had known they would have questions about him (i mean who wouldn’t), and you had tried to mentally prepare yourself for them but as before, it was still a shock when it finally happened. Anxiety coursed through your veins and you felt the inner workings of your stomach fully stir.
Your fingers tighten on the strands of hair you held, trying to ground yourself in front of your family without making it obvious. But the child before you grunting in pain, truly bringing you back. You quickly apologize, going back to the task at hand to try to calm yourself before asking what she meant.
“I mean he was just so.. intimidating. The way he looked at my mom and I as if we were some kind of threat sorta threw me off , yknow? Oh- and the ears, the piercings too. I know we don’t go into the cities often but those threw me a bit more off.” She explains. Coming to sit down next to you, grabbing her sandals and bending over to put them on.
“Ah.” You simply say, biting your lip nervously.
“She’s right. I did not want to say anything but it bothered me quite as well.” You Tia agrees, her gaze shifting from your fingers to your face.
Worry crawls up your skin and bones as you try to ignore and push back the pressure suddenly placed on you. All the secrets and things you have seen, never to be spoken.
Namor trusted you. Had shown you Talokan. Had brought you back to your family.
You had not known how long you were in your own mind, but by the time you had blinked the ends of Sofias braids were being tied into small rubber bands.
And the pressure and tension still lingered in the air as the eyes of your cousin and aunt did not leave your face.
“So..?”
You gulped. The least you could do was keep a secret.
~~~~
The humid air caused a thin and sticky layer of sweat to build onto your skin, but the soft and salty breeze of the ocean helped calm your burning skin. The smell of sweet agua fresca and rich food filled your nose as you finally sat down on the large rectangular table.The ache of your feet lingered from earlier before as you scooted yourself back in.
The walk to the “party” was short, taking place on the beach in front of the small restaurant style bar you had seen that man and woman decorating earlier as Sofia guided you to your aunt. They were introduced to you as Maria and Hilberto (though everyone called him Beto) , and had apparently recognized you from before but were unsure if you were real. You smiled as they spoke to you of how they remembered you as a child, gap toothed and pig tails always full of sand.
They helped introduce you to everyone else in attendance as well. You formally met Sofia’s two friends from before, Lucia, known as Luz, and Clara. Luz was Maria and Beto’s granddaughter, the same pair of black eyes from the girl her grandmother both looked at you. Ones with delight and nostalgia, the other with uncertainty and anxiousness.
Clara was the niece of Yessenia’s friend. She seemed more worried and confused than anything, her brows arched upwards as her plush fingers gripped yours in a handshake.The shy girl clung to Luz— whose birthday was being celebrated. The two seemed close, linking their arms together and sitting at the farthest away from everyone, whispering things to each other as Sofia , who had wandered off to them, listened closely
It had taken almost 15 minutes to formally greet everyone, each person stopping to hold your hand and tell you how much of a free spirit you were as a child, how much Sofia reminded them of you. You can’t recall ever visiting your Tia’s home so often as a child but, you surely must have made an impression. Kind faces asked about your sisters and mother, how your grandmother was, and if you still loved the ocean. You answered accordingly to the first two questions, changing a few details and adding more to keep the conversations fresh. But the last, you simply smiled and nodded your head.
You let out a sigh of relief as the sounds of people talking and laughing surrounded you, finally not at you anymore. The sounds drowned out around you as you turned your head to the dark ocean to your left. Its waves a loud crashing and the only color from its foam lapping against the dimly lit sand.
You breathe in deeply, an attempt to soothe yourself and the tiny nerves from your fingertips slowly riding and building with anxiety at the fact there was still no song. It was so strange, too strange. The scenery felt so familiar too, your heart aching and almost crying out. You wanted to know why. Why now?
“I remember you.” A voice suddenly says. The words scare you. You jump slightly before you turn your head. Dark eyes and light stare at you, a familiar pair next to you. Sofia, Luz, and Clara.
Your cousin’s daughter sat next to you, her arms splayed on the table as she smiled and looked back and forth between you and her friends. The two older girls sat across from you— Luz directly in front and Clara to her side.
You stare for a moment, surprised at the fact she was talking to you. Her previous looks towards you were so.. condescending (probably not the right word)? You hadn’t gotten close enough to her to truly feel how she felt towards you, but her looks of suspicion were enough to make you stay away so as not to bother her. You were a visitor in her home, or at least that’s what you told yourself.
“Do you?” You curiously ask, turning your body to face her.
The stern look on her face falters at your words. Surprise flashed in her wide eyes, her guard let down. Something about her and her friend throwing a small side glance at each other said “She’s talking to me.” A hint of red on her cheeks as she continues to speak.
“I doubt you remember us though.We hardly ever spoke to each other, my mother never allowed me to be near the older kids- but you always seemed so fun. So genuine. But I remember you. I remember at the campfires all the kids would follow you and hear your stories.” She stutters over some words, her speaking hardly put together as well as her tough facade which was now gone.
She says the next words so softly. “Though we never spoke, they’re some of my favorite memories.
You don’t say anything in response as you look at you. The innocence of childhood twinkled in her eyes as she recalled the memories she spoke of, her face now seemed less sharp. Her almond eyes were less sharp, the dark of them seemed to have brightened.
You smiled at it.
“So, how old are you? You seem pretty young, I can't seem to remember seeing you the last time I was here.” You ask, leaning into the table to hear her response. The loud chatter of the adults filled your eyes, the heavy bass of the speakers near you strong enough that you could feel it in your teeth.
“I’m actually supposed to be as old as you.” She says. The words shock you, eyes widening in the few seconds it took to realize what she meant.
“Oh.” You say. “You as well?”
“Almost all of the children in the village actually. Clara and I were the oldest, everyone else was only under 10 years old. It went quiet that day, I was gone and back in less than a second.” Luz explains, her gaze intense as she spoke. But her eyes soon drifted to Sofia a few seconds after speaking.
“All but Sofia. She was the only small child left, having to grow up on her own. It surprised me today when we found you today. I can’t recall her ever meeting you, you were gone and so were we. But the way she simply just walked up to you as if she’s known you her whole life, it really… “ She struggled to finish the sentence, biting her lip as she looked down at the small plate of food in front of her. Her hands scratched as the flimsy and thin table cover, the plastic ripping beneath her fingertips.
“Hey,” you whisper, reaching your hand towards hers, gently pressing down on it in an attempt to stop her anxious fidgeting. “It’s okay. I understand.” You reply. And you did. The second you saw Sofia it was like something inside of your soul knew she was family, knew she would bring you somewhere safe. Even in a haze of hunger and dehydration, that air and familiarity of everything made you feel safe. It was only when you ate and spent the afternoon with your cousin that the memories began to flood back into your mind.
Clara had been quiet the entire conversation, her round face painted with interest but her lips almost trembling as she looked like she wanted to say something. Her leg bounced up and down, her eyes shifted to the small crowd of people dancing in a circle only a few feet away from the tables. She bit her lips as if in anticipation. Luz looked at her. Then at you.
You shrugged your shoulders, your hand leaving hers and going back onto your lap. You opened your mouth to ask the girl what was wrong, but the words seemed to bust through her lips as you did.
“Do you like to dance?” She asks suddenly, eyes going wide and a smile appearing on her lips.
“What?” That was definitely not what you thought she would ask.
“Oh, I’m sorry! It's just the song playing is my favorite, but do you?” Her voice was soft, but loud. Energy and light poured through her as she finally let go. Her hair swayed in the gentle sea breeze to the beat of the song, bounced up and down as she rocked her body lightly to the beat of the song.
It had no doubt taken you by surprise, but that’s what the three girls around you seemed to be special at. Surprising you.
Three girls. one who had never met you, two you can’t recall meeting- all a mirror of
“I do!” You smile, giggling as Luz nugged her friend in the side. Her face painted wigh a look that resd ‘Dont be rude!’
“Would you like to?” She asks after rolling her eyes as the girl beside her, extending her hand for you go take. Her plush hands were chipped, callosues and dry spots around the edges. Her nails short but with a thin coat of polish on top. Her makeup wasn’t the neatest, specs of mascara littered the apples of her cheeks but her eyes burned with a fire grander than you’ve seen before. Like a beast in a cage, waiting to be freed.
You look at Sofia, her eyes sparkling too as she practically jumped in joy to the beat of the song currently playing. That was enough of an answer.
“Yes!”
~~~
The water was almost freezing as it lapped against your burning skin, you almost swore steam was rising off of you. A thin layer of sweat covered your body, now being chilled and dried by the wind that blew through the trees. Hair stuck to your forehead and cheeks as your chest continued to heave from your previous activities.
You remember flying everywhere as the thumping of music rang in your ears. People jumped and sang loudly around you as you did with them as well. You had held the hands of the girls from before, the four of you spinning in circles and holding each other close and laughing loudly as your hips swayed to the song. Clara danced the most, not stopping even after the rest of you broke away from the crowd for a break. Her short hair bobbed up and down as she danced without a care in the world, moving from person to person as her spirit gave the party life.
You smiled, giggling to yourself as you cupped the water from the rushing waves into your hands to clean the sand that had stuck to your skin.
It had been so long since you last danced, truly danced.
You had left the crowd a few minutes ago, having worked up a sweat and burning lungs. Aching knees accompanied you on your silent walk to the shore.
You sighed, letting yourself truly breathe for the first time today. The day you have spent with your family was one you could only have dreamt of, and thinking about it actually made you realize that this was time you had been alone since the morning. You could hardly believe that just a few hours ago, you were still inside that cave. That the sun still had yet to touch you, that you had yet seen another human without that blue skin.
You plop down onto the sand, huffing and catching yourself with your hands as you cross your legs.
The crunching of sand is heard next to you, and instinctively, you look back to where it came from. Your heart almost sank in your chest as you stared at the dark and tall figure beside you. It almost began to beat out of your chest, rising and thumping in your ears. But that figure only sat down besides you, and it stopped.
Namor.
Your breath finally catches again, and you roll your eyes at him.
“What?” He asks, taking note of your huff. You shake your head and look away from him, scooching your knees closer to your chest and grasping the shawl you wore tight.
“I can’t believe you.” You try to say seriously, giggles escaping between syllables.
“What?” He pleads, voice becoming more concerned. He leans in closer to you, tilting his head and furrowing his brows.
You continue to laugh. “What!” He keeps insisting.
“Did you know?” You finally manage to ask.You had looked back at him, a stupid smile on your face.
Namor looks shocked, but soon enough, a smile of his own appears. A real smile. It was soft, the corners of hips lips rising, cheeks lifting just enough to reach the bottom of his eyes.
“Know what?” He asks, shoulders nudging yours as he scooches in closer to you.
“That I had family here. I feel like you must have.” You reply, doing your best attempt to stare him down. “You creepy, crazy stalker.” You joke.
His eyes widen, jaw going slack, before howling in laughter and throwing his head back. You explode in giggles as well. The sound of the music, waves crashing, the rustling of the trees, and your laughter; it all felt so familiar. Like you’ve been here with him before. Like home.
When it finally died down, you both fell into a comfortable quiet. The cold of the air sends shivers down your spine, your hands going cold and hard as you tried to wrap your fingers in the thick shawl you wore. It didn’t work as well as you wanted, but Namors body heat certainly helped.
He hummed a tune you couldn’t quite place as you listened to the far off music still blaring on the speaker. It felt peaceful. The waves weren’t crashing and fighting each other for dominance as they did the night you left. The moon was out, no clouds hiding it from the endless sea below it. Something about the calm made you feel vulnerable. Like you wanted to tell the man sitting beside you every trouble you've ever faced.
You tilted your head to him, shifting your gaze from where the moonlight met the water and to him.
The profile you had grown to love in the time you had known him was there to greet you. And your heart went soft.
“You know, when I first got here, I didn’t even know where I was.” You suddenly began to tell him, the words escaping you before you could even process them.
“Oh?” Namor hums in response. What do you mean?
“When I fell, I didn’t know who that girl was. What beach I was on. I only knew that it felt like I’ve been there-here! before. And then I saw my tia, I ate her food. And everything came rushing back to me.” You explain, your cheek squished against the knee closest to your chest.
“Do you remember how I said there was always this.. song in my head when I was near the ocean?”
He nods, face stern and serious.
“Well, I always thought it was always there. On a constant loop like a broken record. But… being here made me remember it stopped once. It was a long time ago, the last time I had been here in fact. Which is…,”You sigh, thinking about the past time before resuming, “I had been walking along the shore at night, trying to resist that call from jumping into the water and trying to calm myself and sense— my own body that had been betraying me— until it went quiet. It was so sudden that I didn’t even realize until a few minutes after.
“I remember feeling such relief— such joy at the silence and peace. I couldn’t believe it was happening. I ran to my mother immediately, and cried in her arms as I repeatedly said ‘it's gone! it’s gone!’.” Your eyes began to burn, the corners blurring as you continued, “ She held me until I slept. But only when I woke up did it come back— there’s nothing I can say to describe my disappointment and sadness when it came back.”
You pause, catching your breath and composing yourself. Your voice did not waver, you spoke clearly, but the sudden weight that had lifted from your chest shook you to your core. You can’t remember the last time you told someone that, and at the same beach and ocean you stood before when it happened. Your fingertips buzzed and skin covered itself with chills as it remembered that past sadness and the sudden feeling of vulnerability.
“There’s something about this beach, about this sea in front of me, that makes it stop. And i would give anything to find what it is.”
Namor stays quiet, his eyes gone dark and serious. pain flashed behind those eyes of his as his jaw went tight at your words. you sniffled, turning your head back to the sea before you.
Silence built around you. It surrounded the place in which you sat, the cloudy feeling almost letting you sink into your thoughts if it were not for the warmth of his skin against yours. Shoulder to shoulder he finally speaks.
“And the song? How long has it been there?” His voice was gruff, as if clogged and pained. Almost like that lump that clogged your throat before crying had taken hold of him.
“Since I can remember actually, but it's been quite ever since I met you. When I saw Talokan, I heard it. But it was different then. It didn't call for me, didn’t beg for me to go find it and make me want to rip my skin off of my bones. But instead it welcomed me almost. It sang brighter, more beautifully. Those strings in my mind that played on land were coarse and rough, but beneath the water and in that blue light it was smooth and enchanting. I don’t think anything can compare. If that is what was waiting for me, I would always go back.” You tell him. Your voice is light and friendly, but you were the most serious you have been since you met him.
Namor only looked at you. Eyes misty and full of some kind of pain you knew you could not describe. A pain and longing you could only feel and know to be older than time itself. That tug inside your heart and soul told you he knew, that he wanted to say but couldn’t. That he could explain everything but can’t. There’s a key to his heart, the one he wants to expose and let you hold so badly but cannot. Not until he’s ready.
You see it. The way his lips twitched into a small smile as the pain that flashed in his dark eyes got pushed back into those depths it rose from.
Namor was not one for words. Or at least not with you.
You’ve seen him talk with ease and a confidence that you knew suited the title of Serpent God. His booming voice was loud and strong as he spoke to the women who took care of you in that cave. He was always so serious and stern when you saw him work, words flowed quickly and smoothly from his lips without missing a beat . But when it came to you, his words seemed to fail. As if everything in his mind went blank at the sight of you and the only way to express understanding was touch.
Touch. His favorite thing.
His large hand reaches towards you. Fingers combing through yours as they stilled from their curling action. His calloused hand held yours in a firm grip and held on tightly. You let it happen.
His touch, his body, his air, and mere presence warmed your once shivering body underneath that cold moonlight. The expanse of the endless sea before your eyes didn’t seem so big anymore, at least not with him there with you.
The beating of the waves and the music your family played only got louder— a familiar tune reaching your ears and you almost jumped.
You turned your head to the distant light of people still dancing.
“What’s wrong?” Namor asks, a bit stunned at your sudden movement.
“I love this song.” You simply respond, a smile on your face as you look back to him.
“Do you?”
You hum a quick yes.
“Tell me, what is it about?” He requests, voice so gentle and quiet, you wouldn't have been able to hear if his lips were not so close to yours.
You gulp, staring into his eyes.
You've probably stared into the eyes of thousands of people, but with him— it made you realize how truly intimate it is.
“It’s uh- about a man. He hears a woman's voice on the radio one night and falls in love with her. And he spends every day looking for her, clicking through every station every day in hopes to hear her voice at least once more. He’s desperate , says he looks to the sky and stars for her. Sleepless. Desvelado.” You tell him.
“Like you and the song from the sea. Only you’re searching for the end.”
His reply shocks you. But there’s a faint knowing twinkle in his eye. That look from before.
“I think I may have found it.”
You both smile one last time. Your head leans into his shoulder— his own falling atop yours soon enough— as you fall back into a comfortable quiet. Your arm hugging his as the warmth of his body seeps into yours.
You dreamt about him that night. Recalling how your hearts burned brighter than the moonlight, brighter than the sun.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY SCREAMS here's a cute little snippet of Rainbow Jasmine!
“Langyaw.” Stranger, you called out. Namor had to hide an amused smirk as you stared at the jade of his piercings a little while longer, your eyes twinkling with that same amazement he had seen on the second time he had met you.
“You call me ‘langyaw,’ but I do not understand you,” he told you in his mother tongue. You couldn’t help but cock your head to the side in curiosity. He chuckled and pointed to himself, “my name. K’uk’ulkan.”
You stared at him while blinking.
“K’uk’ulkan,” he pointed to himself again. “My name is K’uk’ulkan.”
Why was he repeating such a strange word? Was there something you had to know? He gestured to his whole body and gave you a pointed look.
Oh, that must be his name, you thought.
“K’uk’u-ul—” you tried to say, but his language was foreign to your tongue. He tried again, this time dragging out every syllable and stopping to give you time to adjust to his odd name.
And finally, with a bit of practice, you called out to him.
“K-K’uk’ulkan.”
He gave you a big smile, the first of many that you were to see from him in the nights to come. It was infectious; you found yourself smiling alongside him as you repeated his name over and over.
Namor felt as if his spirits were lifted up as soon as you had uttered his name—although the pronunciation could use some work, it was nothing that couldn’t be fixed in a few more days of learning.
It was your turn to point to yourself and gesture to all of you, your giggle chiming through the glowing island like the wind chimes of an eastern hut.
You uttered your name slowly and deliberately, dragging each syllable for him to follow. He did so with ease, and with a few more moments of practice, he could finally say your name as if it was a part of his language.
You smiled. It has been so long since anyone has said your name.

Namor Teaches You to Swim
Pairing: Namor x Fem!Reader
Tags: fuff, established relationship, mentioned thalassophobia, soothing kisses, teasing, slight suggestive content
A/N: It took me a very long time to learn how to swim due to thalassophobia, I still have that fear but it's a little bit better now. Anyway Namor is really sexy and cool and cute and I thought this would be too.
Tumblr media
Namor loves seeing you in your swim suit, you know he does, his own outfit leaves very little to the imagination too but that's not what you're at the beach for this time
You're here because Namor offered to teach you how to swim
After all it seamed a little ridiculous that you have a boyfriend that leaves under the sea and you don't know how to swim let alone accompany him to his kingdom
He thought you maybe wanted to learn at a pool first but you trust him with your life, you knew he would never let you drown, and you feel it best to confront your fear head on, with Namor by your side
He is incredibly touched that you trust him so much, he won't let you down
He makes swimming looks so easy, of course when to him it's like breathing something that he just does without thinking
Is very playful with you, trying to get you to relax by playing with you and splashing around in the shallows, taking you into his arms and twirling you around before he brings you down into a kiss
When it's time for you to finally get into the deeper waters he starts by telling you to kick your feat against the water, keep your chin above the water and just look at him, he won't let go of your hand
He is relaxed and patient with you, letting you rest when it becomes too much and letting you stand back on your feet while he swims circles around you, occasionally leaning towards you to kiss your cheek, shoulder or lips
You're very pent up it and while there are methods to fix that, again it's not what you're here for, so he tells you to lay flat on your back, his hands will be under you, holding you up, just focus on the sound of the ocean and his voice, let the sounds wash over you, try to get used to the feeling of floating like that
It takes you many tries and Namor having to catch you but eventually you feel comfortable enough to float on your own, him next to you, holding your hand
You don't want to go anywhere where you can't see the bottom of the sea floor and he's fine with that, he won't force you
He can teach you the right strokes in the shallower waters too, and not the lewd kind, you already know those plenty well
He tells you to always stay close to him and if you feel like you're getting tired just flip over on your back and let yourself float, he'll be right next to you at all times
It's not easy but eventually you let him take you a little deeper, your hands around his shoulders
You only hold yourself above the water by kicking your legs below the surface while Namor lets you take in the vastness of the ocean around you
When you tell him you've had enough he asks you to swim back with him, he'll stay under you the whole time, just below the surface, always ready to catch you if you need it

No because Namor literally has such a size kink. Especially since he’s so fucking thick and big. I wanna be face down ass up him pulling on my hair while he tells me how much of a slut I am. I wanna be spanked too rip
i completely agree that this man would have a size kink, i do believe he’s a bit cocky about certain parts of himself: how strong he is, powerful, pretty sure in the comics he gets many many women, and we know IT’S big. so he’s definitely cocky in a classy way though, like a way where he doesn’t need to brag, he’s going to show you, prove it to you, he doesn’t need to do all these outlandish human male ego things because he’s just going to put it all into action, why would he need words??
but with that being said i do think he would have the dirtiest mouth in bed, it’s going to be said in a poetic-ish dirty way that’s going to make your eyes roll into the back of your head ok!!!
Tumblr media
You can’t tell which part of him is causing you the most pleasure—or pain; his fingers in your hair as they pull at your strands making a pleasurable ache burn the back of your skull, or his nails digging into the flesh at your hip as he keeps you in place, in that perfect spot—arch—that has his pelvis slapping against your ass roughly, or maybe it’s his words.
The tumbles of mixed sentences in English and his native tongue, the way he shapes them into something so beautifully filthy makes your body heat even more.
“Your body craves this does it not? It has to. The way it stretches and opens up for me. Calling me home. Where I’m meant to be, where you take me so well. As if your body were made for me to take like this. Claim you in the ways a god would a decibel.” He grunts, his palm running down the curve of your hip, over your ass, and between your legs where the two of you are connected. Where he can spread you wider, “and you’re so eager to take me, aren’t you?”
You can only answer him in a muffled cry. A cry that sounds like a hymn to his ears.
And when he picks up the pace, when he knows you’re so close to coming, he’ll bend forward putting his mouth to your shoulder, teeth nipping your skin as he says, “say my name. Say it like a prayer you humans give to gods who never listen. I’m listening, yaakunaj.”

Consort
Fandom: MCU Characters/Pairings: Namor x female!Reader Word Count: 2.3k
Summary: Diplomatic fraternization is never easy and situations can turn on a dime. When you accompany your father to negotiate future ties between your two underwater kingdoms, one mistake changes everything.
Content Warnings: SMUT, thigh riding
Additional Notes: Before this week it had never even as a WHIM come across my radar to write anything Namor. But two-almost-three-days ago @artsynellyyy shared a ridiculously gorgeous unfinished piece of art she was working on, asked for some input, and it spurred a plot concept that just GRIPPED my brain and had me feeling THINGS. I don’t think I will be writing a lot of Namor, but I do know there’s certainly a part two to this because…there’s more story for these two in my head. There’s a particular moment that exists for them that as this developed, I knew could not happen yet for them, it would’ve been too rushed. So… just… Happy fourth installment of the 2022 Holiday Extravaganza!
A/N 2: Be gentle! This is my first attempt at Namor. I did some canon diving and research, but I did not dive deep into the Namor fandom because I didn’t want to get too influenced about established patterns or too intimidated about what’s already out there. Honestly kind of terrified to publish this one, so just... jumping out of the airplane and pulling the parachute okay bye.
Tumblr media
“Let us speak without pretense,” the king of Talokan’s voice resonates powerfully through the throne room. “Tell me why you sought private audience with me today, Hamal.”
Standing at the right hand of your father, you observe the way he draws his shoulders up just a fraction more, the way his nostrils flare just before he speaks again. “Fine, I will speak plainly, Namor. Your recent dealings with the surface, particularly with the kingdom of Wakanda, is concerning to the kingdom of Fourchon.”
“Why should it concern you?” Namor patiently humors the conversation further, but you can read that the patience is wearing thin.
“King to king, I find it concerning because it calls into question whether we are moving into a state of volatility for all who dwell in the oceans, and I have no wish to see my people drawn into hostilities or war of any kind.”
“And you are here to ensure continued peace between our nations?”
“I am.”
Your heart isn’t racing, but the beats thrum more swiftly against your chest as you will this to go well.
“And what do you propose, Hamal? What does the kingdom of Fourchon possibly have to offer Talokan?”
There’s a moment of silence that hangs between the two rulers, then your father answers, “Her.”
Every muscle in your body seizes with dread, your heart skipping a beat. Your eyes widen, but every bit of diplomatic rearing mercifully allows you to keep your mouth from dropping open in complete shock.
“My daughter.”
You cannot look at either king, looking straight ahead to keep your composure, but you register the sharp change in Namor’s voice. “Fourchon is neither enemy nor ally to Talokan, and yet you come to my court with the arrogance of demanding peace between our countries when for more than three hundred years there has been nary a quarrel. Indeed, your small kingdom has meant nothing to me, an inconsequential player amongst underwater realms. We have maintained social civility only because you were not worth any more or less to me.
He pauses, and you can feel the tension rolling in waves off your father.
“Your offer is horrible, but I will give you what you came here to bargain and secure today for the sake of your people, despite the prideful blunder of their king. Now leave.”
You are desperate to acquiesce to Namor’s command after the humiliation of being offered first as a trinket or some form of tribute and then receiving by association a political rebuke, and you turn immediately to depart with your father.
“Not you, Princess,” his voice halts you.
You watch your father leave; he doesn’t look back at you or Namor.
“Come here,” the king of Talokan says.
You turn back to face him, squaring your shoulders and looking straight at him as you approach. Your father had asked for a private audience, and you are grateful for that as no one else saw the disaster that just took place.
He regards you openly. You focus on breathing evenly when all you want to do is flee from this room and let your emotions rage. When his gaze meets yours again, he tilts his chin and narrows his eyes ever so slightly.
“Do you not kneel for your king?”
Heat rushes from your chest up to flood your cheeks, and your throat feels thick with anger, but you manage to speak. “You are not my king.”
“Did I not accept the terms offered?”
“An offer you called horrible,” you say as you sink to your knees and bow your head as is customary.
“The offer, not you.”
Your head snaps back up at these words.
“And the offer was horrible in relation to you, not me.”
Your brow furrows in question.
“When your father made the overtures for this meeting, I asked my ambassador to share with me his outlook on your kingdom and your court.”
“You said we were inconsequential.”
“But an element that still exists.”
He evaluated the full landscape. You were under no illusions that the kingdom of your birth was small in comparison to Talokan or Atlantis, but  he was a ruler who wasn’t fool enough discount the smaller players.
“My ambassador said,” he continues, “that your people love and respect you and that it is a loss to Fourchon that you were both second-born and a daughter of the throne instead of a son.”
Resentment spreads through your veins at these words. You’d fought the unrest of what you would not be able to do while also feeling confident in your brother’s ability to rule, that he’d proven himself worthy of his birthright.
“He said you were your father’s favorite.”
You had thought that, too. And yet… “How easily he would bargain me away would say otherwise.”
“It was clear you had no indication of his intent.”
A bitter laugh escapes your throat. “Truly. I thought he valued my presence, my counsel, even perhaps my help in diplomatic relations, but I was only a pawn.”
“No.”
You narrow your eyes and cock your head to the side.
“I think you are wrong. Stand, Princess.”
You rise slowly, with as much grace as you can.
He moves from the throne, stepping over the jaw that frames his seat of power, and moves down the steps toward you.
“In future you kneel for only me, no one else.”
You remain in your place as he slowly circles you.
“I did lecture your father for his arrogance on an improper read on the state of affairs, assuming Talokan would turn on Fourchon. However, as a king, I do not fault him for caring for the welfare of his people, or for overestimating the value of his kingdom,” he states, his voice warming with this admission. He comes to a stop in front of you. And to negotiate safety and peace for his people?” He raises his right hand and draws his fingers down reverently along your jaw. “He offers you, his greatest treasure. He insinuates you are worth more than an entire kingdom.”
You open then close your mouth, unsure how to respond to this interpretation. Your eyes search his, but all you can see there is a resoluteness that he truly means what he’s just said. It’s disarming, and with the way your world fell out from under you only minutes ago, you’re unsure of what to trust now.
Namor radiates confidence, it rolls easily off him in waves, but when he takes a step closer, you can feel the heat of him. His fingers move over your shoulder and down the length of your arm, and you shiver but keep holding his gaze. Your instincts tell you that every moment in this room has been significant, it’s determining your future, every movement, every word, every observation.
He takes half a step closer, only a whisper of space between you now, and you hold your ground. He almost smiles, then he turns away, seizing your hand and leading you up the stairs of the dais, and you quickly lift your skirts so you can ascend quickly behind him. Up close you can admire the artistry of the jaw that encases his throne. Like him, it’s charming, beautiful, and dangerous, each intricate designs carved into the bone, and the teeth replaced with jade stones.
“Your father was right to anticipate a shift in my rule.”
“Oh?”
“I’ve been king of Talokan for centuries, but my dealings with Wakanda have me considering eventualities of the future.”
Namor takes steps over the jaw, then draws you carefully in with him, still holding your hand as you step over the mighty frame, before finally releasing it. He turns back to look out over the throne room and further the drop off to look out over the kingdom of Talokan, but angles himself slightly toward you as well, and you mirror him. It’s a breathtaking view, and you imagine it is an altogether different manner of beauty with the court or an audience of people called to convene. But like this, still and quiet, it’s ethereal.
“You will be my queen.”
“That’s a bold declaration.”
“You’ve been offered to me in exchange for a promise of peace for your people, would you renege?”
You close your eyes briefly but square your shoulders and shake your head.
“Now you can choose your course in this.”
“Enlighten me,” you can’t hold back, though you do manage to keep your voice even.
There’s a flicker of something in his eyes, but he’s speaking again before you can decipher it. “If I’m to have an heir, to secure the future, ensure stability for my people, I need a queen; but whether you merely bear my child or become my consort is something I cannot determine for you. I would prefer the latter.”
In the next second, he’s pulled you to his side and captured your lips in a kiss that is altogether slow and searing. His arm winds around your waist, bringing you flush against him, and your hands move of their own volition to rest on either side of his neck. Heat runs through your veins, and you know without question he could consume you.
You break off the kiss, but he respectfully retreats. He takes a seat on the throne, and you see he’s as breathless as you are.
But you broke off the kiss to ask the question that will haunt you if you don’t ask it.
“You’re truly ready to bind me to your side, just like that? You don’t even know me.”
“This is not a marriage of convenience. This is a marriage of opportunity.”
“I’m not–“
He holds up a hand to silence you, but it’s not in impatience, you can see that in his face, and he immediately says, “I will grant you that we do not know each other yet, but I know enough to know who you are. I have the trusted insight of my ambassador, but I also have accounts from people who have served and interacted with you here in my own kingdom these past two days, and biologically prolonged life or not, a king also doesn’t keep his crown or the respect of his people for as long as I have without being able to judge those around him well. You were taken by surprise today, but you are not naïve. You came to my court to be of counsel, serve, influence. Why should that not still be your fate?”
“A foreign princess?”
He shakes his head and holds his hand out to you. “A queen consort.”
You search his face again. This was the moment. You could not read any falseness, arrogance, or cruelty. Indeed, though he was surprising you with this swift and forthright proposition, your intuition doesn’t question him or his intentions.
You take the hand he presented, and he pulls you forward, placing his hands on your hips once you are close enough and guiding you to sit astride one of his powerful thighs, the rich fabric of your dress sliding up your legs. You place your hands on his shoulders to steady yourself.
“I want your mind, your body, and your soul,” he says, sealing it with your name, not your title.
“I want the same,” you say.
“You’re sure?”
“I need the same.” Being this close to him is both invigorating and steadying. The way he is looking at you, the way he is holding you, it’s also intimate and heated, and those feelings are amplified as he pulls you just a little closer.
“Then take what you need,” he commands in a tone that makes your heart soar and desire bloom in your stomach. He flexes his thigh against your core, and it spurs you to lean in and kiss him again, hungry for more.
He matches your eagerness. When his tongue seeks entrance, you open your lips, moaning. He begins rocking your hips back and forth over his thigh, and you know he can feel the heat and the wetness of the desire he’s stoked within you seeping through the silk of your underwear. As you take control of moving against him, his hands travel up your sides until he reaches your breasts, and his thumbs brush over the tender flesh. You both moan, him in approval, and you with pleasure. You’re swept away completely in all the sensations, in his passion, your body singing for him. He is a powerful force, one you will have to be sure to meet with your own spirit and fire so you aren’t lost. This union is for fulfilment for you both, not to be destroyed, diminished, or tossed away.
As you speed up, he drops one hand down to anchor on your hips, helping you grind down on his thigh. He keeps flexing it against you, and you whimper, head falling back.
“Keep going,” he growls against the column of your throat, kissing his way down to the sweet spot at the base of your neck. “I love the way your body is trembling; I can tell you’re so close.”
“Yes, Namor,” you keen.
“K’uk’ulkan,” he says, and your head snaps back up, eyes locking intensely with his.
“K’uk’ulkan,” you repeat – the invitation to use the more personal name drops the intimacy between you two to a deeper level.
You both move with a desperate frenzy now, you craving the release and him eager to give it to you, his lips searing every inch of the exposed skin available to him at your neck, collar bone, pulling at the neckline of your dress.
“So close,” you cry.
“Let go.”
And you do, tight coil of ecstasy peaking and releasing, you cling to him, and as your body begins to relax wish pleasure, you press your forehead to his, both of your eyes closed now, sealing the moment in your memory.
His hands are slowly running up and down your back. “Jach ma’alob,” he croons softly. “This is enough for now; there will be so much more, my queen.”

Imagine:
Meeting Namor
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Request: Yes or No
Forgive my spanish, I can only speak it and read it but writing it is a bitch.
~~~
Weaving the thread through the perfectly shaped hole, you tied a knot at the base as you listened to the waves roll. The warm water lapped at your soaked legs, inching further into land with each wave. It wouldn't be long before the water reached your waist and you'd have to move.
Despite the peaceful, calming atmosphere, you couldn't shake the familiar feeling of eyes on you. Every time you visited the beach, it'd only take a couple minutes before he arrived. He never outright approached you, only watched from afar. Of course, the first time had left you unnerved as you never no stranger to the tales your mother often told you. And yet, he never bothered you, never made an attempt to hurt you.
"¿Quieres uno?" You called out, remaining focused on the necklace until the sound of water sloshing around reached your ears. It stopped and you looked up, taking in the man infront of you. He looked... oddly human.
Lifting your hand, you offered offered the necklace. "Tómalo. Es gratis."
Looking rather perplexed, he reached out, letting a finger drag over the thread before taking it. He let the seashell rest on the palm of his hand and studied it for a moment before looking back at you.
"(Y/N)."
"Kukulkán." His voice was unexpectedly warm and smooth.
"Encantado." You smiled, planting your feet into the sand and standing up, the water splashing at your ankles. His lips pulled into a small grin and his fingers wrapped around the seashell.
"Níib óolal." He murmured and you found yourself wishing you'd paid attention to your mothers teachings. But his eyes only twinkled with mischievous. Despite everything about him screaming power, he appeared boyish and playful.
And for a moment, you wondered if speaking to the mysterious stranger from the ocean who was said to be a god had been a good idea.
Gifs aren't mine.
[Trigger Waring: Blood]
*3rd Person POV*
"Yeild, and Wakanda will protect your oceans. We will protect your secrets. Yeild, and your people will live. Vengeance has consumed us. We cannot let it consume our people.
"I yeild."
"Talokanile'ex! Let us return home! Our fight here is done!" Namor shouted to his people from the jet, his words making them bow in understanding.
"Wakanda forever!" Shuri also shouted, getting a 'Wakanda forever' in return from the Wakandans. Shuri turned to Namor, and breathlessly and tiredly said, "I have a friend who can heal you, give you back your wings." Namor nodded, and both leaders turned back to their people.
*Time Skip*
"Well, this is the place Shuri said to go. At least I think it is... hopefully." (Y/N) mumbled to herself as she set her waterproof pack onto the warm sand. (Y/N) had just arrived at a nameless and extremely hidden beach in Yucatan, courtesy of Shuri arranging a flight for her. Shuri had called (Y/N) with a favor to help heal a new friend/ally of Wakanda's. (Y/N) had heard about the fight between Wakanda and a new group/kingdom, but decided not to bring it up, considering they both found a truce.
The, to be kept secret friend, Namor, told Shuri to have her healer, (Y/N), to wait on a specific beach, which is the one she is currently waiting on. He didn't say a specific time, so (Y/N) arrived to the beach around 8:30 in the morning, not wanting to miss Namor or keep him waiting. Shuri told her he was kind, noble yet unforgiving. (Y/N) didn't want to get on his bad side.
(Y/N) looked around the beach, taking in the scenery as she sat down. 'Wow... it's gorgeous.' She thought to herself as she took in the palm trees, exotic flowers, small creatures running or flying around, the tan sand and finally the light teal ocean. It was quiet and peaceful, away from the human touch; purely nature.
She took in a deep breath of the salty air and closed her eyes. She exhaled with a calming smile as her shoulders relaxed. She stayed that way for awhile, just sitting with her eyes closed, a peaceful smile adorning her lips as the morning sun bathed her in a golden light.
From a distance in the ocean, she was being watched. Namor and a handful of his soldiers, including Namora and Attuma, gazed at the girl as she soaked in the morning sun. "This is the girl we're supposed to meet? She doesn't look to be much." Namora said, glancing to Namor. "It's always the ones you least expect." Attuma added. This new girl gave Namor a... strange feeling. Nothing bad, but nothing good. She was pleasing to the eye and seemed kind, but all of that could be a facade.
"Let's just continue watching her for the time being." Namor said, not taking his eyes off the girl on the beach. And that they did. They watched her as she walked around, either drew or wrote in her journal, ate, played with the animals and insects, read and even at one point take a nap. It was late afternoon by the time Attuma spoke up, "We've spent almost the whole day watching her, she seems harmless. Shall we go and get her?"
"If I was her I wouldn't have waited this long, somethings up." Namora said, suspicious. Namor went to respond but paused, "Wait, look." They all look to the shore to see the girl put down her book as she spotted something washing up on to the beach.
"Oh... oh no. No, no, no, no, no!" (Y/N) bolted to her feet and ran towards the shore, towards a beached and bleeding manta ray. She fell to her knees as she assessed the wound. There was a large fishing hook in the back of its right fin. "Oh gosh," (Y/N) mumbled to herself, worry in her tone. "Alright, let's do this." She determinedly said, quickly taking off her shoes and socks, hoodie and cargo pants. Thankfully she was wearing a tank top and shorts underneath.
She could tell the manta ray was a juvenile based on its size, so it was relatively easy for her to shimmy it back into the water. When it was deep enough, she placed her hands on its underbelly and helped it further out into the ocean, until it was up to her breast. "I'm sorry but this is going to hurt," (Y/N) apologized to the manta ray as she lifted its fin out of the water and swiftly pulled the fishing hook out, the ray flapping its fins in pain afterwards.
She threw the hook onto the beach as she apologized again, "I know, I'm sorry!" She took her index finger and wiped up some of the manta rays blood. Then she did something none of the Talokan were expecting, she licked the manta rays blood from her finger. "What the...?" Namora had mumbled under her breath.
(Y/N) closed her eyes after tasting the blood, still holding onto the manta ray. After about 30 seconds she re-opened her eyes, "Got it." She placed her hand on the rays wound and slowly pulled it up. Thin strings of gold light became visible as she lifted her hand, the strings were attached to her hand and the rays wound. She intricately moved her fingers as the strings danced, closing the rays wound, leaving nothing but a completely healed scar.
"Hm..." Was all Namor could say.
(Y/N) let go of the ray and watched as it flapped its fins for a moment, testing them out. When realizing he was okay, he swam deeper into the water, swimming circles around the girl as she giggled in happiness.
'That sound...' Namor definitely wanted to hear it again.
The ray swam off and (Y/N) smiled in the direction she last saw it. She then turned and made her way back to the beach. "Let's go," Namor ordered, diving underwater, the soldiers following.
Just as (Y/N) got back onto shore, she heard a male voice call out and froze, "You are the healer Shuri told me about, yes?" What alarmed her at first was that the voice came from behind her, from the ocean. But she quickly remembered what little information Shuri told her about Namor, that he lived in the water. She tried to calm down her racing heart as she turned to make eye contact with the source of the voice.
When they came face to face, it seemed like everything stopped, like everything went quiet. (E/c) eyes, dark brown eyes. (H/l) (h/c) (h/t) hair, short black wavy hair. Smooth (s/c) skin, clear caramel skin. Scars, piercings, tattoos, the shape of each other's faces, ears, lips, shoulders, fingers, everything. They took in everything about the other, all the way from how tall the other was to how long or short their eyelashes were. It was like they were in a trance, but it all came to a stop.
"Well? He asked you a question. Speak." Namora called out to (Y/N), jolting her back to reality. "O-Oh! Yes! I'm the healer Shuri sent! My name is (Y/N), it is a pleasure to meet you!" (Y/N) hastily said as she bowed to Namor. "I am Namor. We are going to search your things." Namor introduced and stated, sending two of the background soldiers up onto the beach. "Oh! Go ahead!" (Y/N) gestured to her pack.
The two Talokans searched the bag and found no weapons or trackers. One of them closed it back up after tossing (Y/N)'s clothes into it and swinging it over their shoulder. "Here is a mask to help you breath underwater," Namor said as he held out one of their respirators. "Oh,  thank you, but I don't need it." (Y/N) kindly waved off, getting confused looks from the Talokans.
(Y/N) closed her eyes and after a few seconds, two sets of gills appeared on her neck, just like the Talokan. The Talokan, except for Namor, gasped backed away from the girl, Namora even going as far as raising her spear to (Y/N). (Y/N)'s eyes went wide at the sudden hostility and she also backed up. Namor placed his hand on Namora's spear and lowered it, "How did you do that?" He questioned, pure curiosity in his voice.
(Y/N) was hesitant to answer at first due to the Talokans reaction, but Namors dark brown eyes were calming. "It's my power, my mutation.  I can go deeper into it if you want, but not here." She said as she looked around the beach for civilians. "Yes, let's get going. Can you keep up with us?" Namor asked, walking further into the ocean. "Uh, hopefully." (Y/N) nervously chuckled.
"Let's go!" Namor dived into the water, Namora and Attuma following. (Y/N) changed her eyes so that they would be protected from the salt water and so she could see better. She also changed her skin to thermoregulate like a dolphin or whale, avoiding hypothermia. Finally she dove in, the last three Talokans behind her. All seven of them swam deeper and further into the ocean, passing by many sea animals.
Ever since she was younger, (Y/N) gravitated more towards the sea animals than the land animals, and since she only ever saw sea animals is aquariums or marine life hospitals, it was like a field day for her. She beamed and smiled at every animal she saw, and even occasionally touched.
Namor watched her from the corner of his eye as she was absolutely entranced by the wildlife, still swimming towards their underwater cave. Though he stopped when (Y/N) happened to look up and see a swarm jellyfish. She gasped in delight, "Moon jellyfish!" She swam up, completely forgetting her company.
The three background soldiers were about to swim up and follow her but Namor stopped them, "Wait here, all of you." Namor swam up next to the healer and saw her giggling with a large smile on her face, jellyfish dancing around her and brushing up against her skin, tickling her.
"Strange, I've never seen them act that way before." Namor commented, still watching as one jellyfish came and rested in the girls cupped hands. "Oh really?" (Y/N) replied, only half paying attention to Namor. Namor swam closer to the girl, where he was right next to her, "The animals respect you." He said, more so to himself than her.
The sudden change in Namor's volume caught (Y/N) off guard and she looked in his direction, slightly jolting at his new proximity. He was staring at her, a feeling in his eyes she couldn't describe. "Oh, sorry. I'm keeping us up." She apologized, then she slowly lifted her hands up, the jellyfish swimming away.
Namor still watched her as she did this, and all the while, she had a truly peaceful smile. The rest of the jellyfish surrounding them also swam away, making a clearing for the two. (Y/N) turned back to Namor to show she was ready, and he was the first to start swimming down, the healer following close behind.
A few minutes went by as the group continued to swim. They eventually came to an entrance to, what (Y/N) assumed was, an underwater cave. But none of them made a move to enter. Namor turned to (Y/N), "We are going to blindfold you in order to keep our destination a secret, to keep my people safe."
"Oh, okay." (Y/N) nodded in understanding, closing her eyes as Namora came behind her to tie the blindfold. (Y/N) couldn't see anything, but she could still hear and feel. She heard Namor speak in his native tongue and two hands grab hers, both rough and larger than her hands. They were slightly different in size and feel, telling her that it was two different people guiding her.
They started to swim, guiding the blind girl with them. They swam for almost ten minutes before they breached water. The two holding onto (Y/N) helped her out of the water, standing her up. The blindfold was removed and she blinked a few times, transitioning her eyes back to her normal (e/c) ones (also getting rid of the gills).
She took in her surroundings and saw that they were now in a cave. When she looked up, she saw stalactites and glow worms, giving the cave a soft teal glow. She looked down to see the pool of water they came from. From the turns and quick movements she felt when she was blindfolded, she knew she would get lost if she needed/tried to escape for any reason.
"This way," Namor called to the girl, gesturing towards a small hut to her right. The guards stood outside of the hut, except for Namora and Attuma, they entered along with Namor and (Y/N). The hut was well lit with torches, giving (Y/N) a full view the tapestries decorating the walls. "Woah..." (Y/N) said, the word leaving her mouth involuntarily as she took in all of the work. "Would you like a robe?" Namor asked, pulling one around his shoulders. The healer shook her head, "No thank you, I'm regulating my temperature." At her words, Namor lightly chuckled in amusement.
"What has... Shuri told you about us?" Namor then hesitantly started, watching (Y/N) observe the tapestries with wonder. "Not much," She started, still taking in the murals. "Just that you went from enemies to allies and you and your people live in the ocean," At this point she turns to face Namor fully and gesture to his ankles, "And that you needed those fixed."
Namor nodded, "Before we start, tell me about your power." (Y/N) tensed slightly, "Ah, yeah, that... well, if I consume a beings DNA, human or animal, I can heal any of their wounds. But in order to do that, I have to absorb their DNA, which means I gain their traits. For example, the ray I healed today, I can now change my eyes to theirs, I can form girls like theirs, and if I want I can make my skin like theirs."
At this, Namor stops her, "So, if you consume any of my DNA, you can gain my strength and wings?" (Y/N) could hear in his tone that he was not happy about that. She nodded nonetheless, "Yes, but I can promise you I would never use them." "How do I know I can trust you?" Namor retorted.
"You don't, that's what trust is about. Putting your faith in someone." (Y/N) responded. "The last time I did that, one of people ended up dying." Namor gravely said. "Shuri must have failed to mention I'm a pacifist." (Y/N)'s sentence made Namor pause. He looked to her, "You're a... pacifist?" There was clear doubt in his tone.
The healer sighed heavily before answering, "I'm not going to go into why, but things happened in my past that made me who I am today. I don't want violence or destruction, I want peace and clarity. I only use my power for good causes. Plus, every time I gain a new DNA and go to use it, it feels like every fiber, every atom of my body is either exploding or ripping apart. It's very painful." She ended with a chuckle.
"What about today?" Namor questions. (Y/N) shrugs, "It hurts, but not as much as the very first time I did it. I'm used to the pain now." The King nodded, "Shall we get started then?" (Y/N) nodded as Namor sat down in a chair, unwrapping one of his bandages.
"Before we start," (Y/N) started, getting down on her knees for better access to Namor's ankles. "I should warn you, the healing process will hurt immensely since you're similar to human. I highly suggest we do sessions of healing." Namor cringed at being compared to a human, but nodded anyway, "Let's see how far we can get today."
(Y/N) nodded and held her hand out for Namor's. He gave her his hand, palm side up as she grew a thin and sharp talon. "May I?" She gestured to his hand and he nodded. She pricked the tip of his index finger and a small dot of blood arose. Namor chuckled, "I thought you were a pacifist." (Y/N) giggled, "You gave me permission so it doesn't count." She then leaned down and licked the blood off of his finger.
Namor didn't know how to feel or react, your giggle, smile, and your tongue on his skin sent his mind into overdrive. Thankfully for him, she closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again. Her once (e/c) eyes were now a gold. She looked back to Namor, "Are you ready?" He nodded in response.
She gently placed her hand on his wing and slowly brought it up. Gold strings attached to the wound from her fingers and pain immediately rushed through Namor. He grunted in surprise, gritted his teeth, and clasped onto the table near him. Namora and Attuma stepped forward in a panic but halted when Namor held up his hand.
Five minutes went by and Namor was already sweating heavily and panting. The table he was grasping was ready to break any second. When his eyes went half lidded (Y/N) stopped her healing, "I think that's good for today." Namor couldn't find it in himself to object.
(Y/N) pulled out a handkerchief from her pack and wiped Namors forehead, "Here, use this." Namor nodded in thanks and took the handkerchief, their hands touching in the process. He looked to her and they made eye contact, dark brown eyes locked with (e/c) ones. Something surged through them, a feeling foreign to both.
Unsure of what to do, (Y/N) broke eye contact and looked to the ground. "How far did you get?" Namor asked in order to quickly avoid the awkward atmosphere. The healer looked to his wing and nervously chuckled, "Uh, almost half an inch!" She tried to sound cheerful but failed. Namor nodded, "We will do more tomorrow."
(Y/N) gathered her things and the four beings left the hut. She was blindfolded once again as they left the cave. Once out in front of the tunnel entrance, they removed the blindfold. They swam back to the beach where they met (Y/N), of course, not without said girl admiring the jellyfish again.
After checking no one was on the beach, they breached the water and made their way to shore. (Y/N) turned to Namor, "Same time tomorrow?" He nodded, "Thank you for today, I will see you tomorrow, (Y/N)." Hearing her name said by this attractive being made her heart race and cheeks flush. She quickly nodded, "See you tomorrow, Namor." Hearing his name from this beautiful and kind being made Namors heart beat quicken and heat rise to his pointed ears. He never thought he could love the name given to him by the beings he despised, but the healer was proving him wrong.
To be continued...
