The Book

My patrons voted for me to do a piece for each episode this year so it’s February, and time for episode two!

This piece is for “The Book” so you know I had to show our angel when he gets his mitts on said tome and makes one of the most fun faces to draw. For this piece, especially because the scene is so high contrast in lighting, I wanted to find a happy medium between realistic portraiture and a nouveau look. But I also employed the framing conventions of the book itself to provide four small color block illustrations of crucial characters of the Nice and Accurate Prophecies.

Good Omens season 3/finale thought of the day:

Have we ever given any consideration to the fact that Agnes Nutter may have written multiple copies of her second book of prophecies knowing full well that Newt and Anathema would burn the first copy she sent them? She probably just keeps posting it to them at various times, with more intense and threatening notes like “Ye playe with fyre lest it burn ye”. And after Newt and Anathema burned the fourth copy and a fifth still manages to turn up they just give up trying to destroy it. It would be a good way to bring them back into the finale (though as I previously posted Jack Whitehall isn’t available for filming, so maybe just Anathema?), seeking out “that weird couple” who stole the first book and then appeared at the airbase and seemed to know so much about what was going on. Maybe they’ll know what to do with this second book because Newt and Anathema certainly don’t want a bar of it anymore.

Crowley, Anathema and Nina should all meet at a pub or cafe or something and just drink and talk shit about people. And I mean like people watching but also talking about people that really piss them off. Then I can imagine Aziraphale, Newt and Maggie just off somewhere else and they have a very calm book club or something.

Newt: How long do you reckon it’ll be until Aziraphale finally snaps and commits murder?  Crowley: I’ve been going through life assuming it’s already happened at some point and it’s just that no one was ever able to trace it back to him.

I want to spend a day in good omens just to hug everyone.

aziraphale? for one, tell me that hug wouldn't be fucking amazing. for two, heaven is definitely not exactly the most touchy-feely. my baby has definitely never been hugged and I want him to experience that. he's absolutely losing his mind in heaven and would do well with a little break.

crowley? he just needs a hug in general. if aziraphales in heaven, let me just hold him and let him be a sad snake and let himself relax and be held. crowley is anxiety manifested into a 6'2 ginger, and a good hug would help him, I think. just until aziraphale can come back and do it properly.

muriel? I mean I just want to hug them. adorable and I just feel like they'd be a great hugger.

gabriel? eh. but jim? he's the type to just walk up and bear hug you and I want that.

maggie? girl's been pining for God knows how long, and gives off good hugger vibes.

nina? let me give her the best post break up hug ever to help her get her mind back together.

newt? that dork would be so down for cuddles and I want in.

anathema? she's just gorgeous and I want a hug from her. she's just got great energy.

I just want to go hug them all and drink tea and make everything better for everyone.
