Pure fluff for y'all, with a touch of angst at the end. I know theres like zero demand for fallout 4 fanfic but I made a poll idk how nany months ago asking if I should make some Nick Valentine fanfic and I got a couole of yes and exactly one follower from that poll. So this goes out to the small anount of people who said yes and that one follower I got from it, theres nore Nick fanfic to come I've just haven't gotten around to it yet but I promise I'll post some every so often.

He loves playing with your hair when he thinks your asleep. Sense he doesn't sleep he'll join you in bed when he needs a break from going over files and lay down with you so he can olay with your hair.

It started with him sitting on the edge of the bed looking at the wall as he thought about his most current case but when you started to stir in your sleep, having a bad dream, he laid down next to you and held you in his arms whispering sweet things to you until you calmed dow.

He found himself enjoying having you in his arms. Thus started a routine of him slipping into bed with you every so often to take a break.

Normally he would take a smoke break when you slept but he found himself craving a cuddle more than a smoke lately.

Soon every so often turned into every night of him crawlling into bed with you and getting up before you woke.

One night he had been loat in thought about something and hadn't noticed you waking up until he heared your tired voice ask him what he was doing.

"What? Oh sorry didn't mean to wake ya." He said pulling his hand away.

He was surprised when you asked him to keep playing with your hair. More than happy to oblige he started playing with it again.

It soothed you back to sleep in his arms snuggling into his chest as you slept soundly.

The next night when you got into bed you patted the spot next to you with an expectant look.

"You want me to join you or somethin?" Nick would ask looking to the bed then to you. Nodding you head you gavw him a big smile.

Who could say bo to that?

Nick was now "going to bed" with you every time you were. Really it was him laying in bed playing with your hair as he talked avout whatever case he had currently going on until you fell asleep.

He wouldn't admit it, at least not out loud but he adored this nightly routine the two of you had going on though he never hid the smile on his face every time he saw you getting ready for bed or how fast he was to crawl into bed with you to cuddle.

Nick always played it off cool as if it wasn't the favorite part of his day or anything.

If you asked he would probably say aomething like. "Just doing my job to keep those pesky nightmares away." Or "only making sure you don't stop breaming in your sleep. You humans are rather fragile after all."

Acts as if he isn't often the first one in bed waiting for you.

Before he atarted cuddlibg you every night he would work straight through the night till morning. He wouldn't even realized you had gone to bed till you walked oast him yawning telling him good morning.

Now though? He reminds you every night at 9pm sharp that you need to go to bed.

He'll play it off as your human and need to get a healthy amount of sleep as he actively take his coat and tie off to get comfortable.

If you buy him a pair of pajamas to wear he'll laugh avout it and say he doesn't need them.

He's wearing them the very next day.

If you gad gotten them before he started cuddling you every bight he would just give you a weird look for the thoughtless gift and put it in his empty dresser to collect dust or to be used by guests staying the night. He didn't sleep why would he need pajamas?

Now though? Might own three different pairs

You bet they match with your pajamas.

If anyone else sees him in his pajamas he'll puff out his chest as he puts his hands on his hips. "What? You never seen a synth in lounge wear before? Beat it, it's time for bed."

Nick takes bed time very seriously.

He's big spoon. It feels weird for him to be little spoon

Wont fight you if you want to try big spooning for once but he wasn't really into it

Nick much more prefers having you in his arms. It helps ground him and reminds him that you truly are here now with him and bot some memory from the past seeping into his present.

That and how can he play with your hair all night if he's not facing you silly?

He will lean in every so often and place a soft kiss on your forward as he whispers a soft "I love ya." As to bot wake you.

If he ever lost you he would lay in the bed alone holding onto your pajamas as he tried to think back on all those nights he spent laying in bed with you. He would stop after a few weeks as it hurt too much but after a few years when he had time to heal he would start doing it again so he could feel like you were there again. Nick didn't know how much he missed this, how much he missed you.

Could I request the companions (ie. Nick, Danse, Piper, Hancock) and their reactions to a male sole survivor with thassalophobia? (Ie. In far harbour absolutely freaking out over having to dive into water for retrieval and frantically begging for others to do it instead?)

He teases you, naturally, but honestly he keeps it in mind when he goes out. If his case takes him near water he'll tell you to hang back, never telling you why. It gets to a point you have to ask if he doesn't want you around and he reassures you by asking you to trust him.

【Danse】 "I'll handle this then."

Pre-BB would find it annoying and borderline insubordinate. A silly fear about a few feet was unreasonable and a waste of time. Post-BB has a better grasp on life because he's not trying to be the perfect solider. The water does suck. It doesn't effect him but it would be wrong to tell you to suck it up. So when a mission takes you to the water he's the one who jumps in.

【Piper】 "Uhhh, you serious, blue?"

She has faced death, she has gone looking in places she wasn't welcomed, she was scared but her curiosity always won out. Being terrified of the water that was walkable was laughable. Even after you go crying to her she doesn't understand and will never. Fear to her feels like spicy adrenaline.

【Hancock】 "Sounds good to me."

His opinion on the water swings. It can be pretty and peaceful, even when it's storming. But sometimes he'll have a bad trip and see something terrifying and absolutely not want to think about the ocean. Makes him shudder. The second you go crying to him after fetching something out of the water he wrapped you in his jacket and get you inside immediately to get you warm and do damage control.

That night Bucky couldn’t sleep. He watched you squirm on the bed until you turned in your sleep and snuggled in his chest. You murmured his name, making his chest swell. 

“He should’ve never left you, doll. How could that bastard leave a woman like you?”

“Hmm…” You rubbed your cheek into his chest.

“His loss, huh?” Bucky looked down at you on his chest and wrapped his arms around you. “I’ll never let you slip through my fingers.” He grinned. “I can’t believe I found a firecracker like you outside that awful bar.”

“Bucky,” you lifted your head to look up at him. “You should sleep too. Stop talking to yourself.”

“I wasn’t talking to myself. All I did was reminisce about the day we spent together,” he huffed. “Did you spy on me, doll? You know, that’s impolite.” Bucky ran his hand up and down your back. 

“You were talking in your sleep, Bucky,” you yawned and snuggled back into his chest. “You said something about firecrackers.”

He kissed the top of your head. “We can talk in the morning. You should sleep now. It was a long and exhausting day.”

Your eyes fluttered close as you listened to Bucky’s heartbeat. His warm hand caressed your back, making it easier for you to drift into sleep.

“Morning,” Bucky grinned when you walked inside your kitchen. “I didn’t know what you like so, I ordered breakfast for champions.”

“What is all of this?” You gasped. Bucky ordered croissants, French toast, muffins, pancakes, a collection of fresh fruits, and three sorts of freshly pressed juices. “That’s enough for twenty people.” 

“I had hoped you’re hungry, doll,” he said and pulled a chair for you. “I have something planned for us. Only if you want to spend the day with me.”

“I have the rest of the week off,” you bit your tongue, and shook your head. “I took a few days off to…”

“I get it,” he gently squeezed your shoulder. “I highly recommend the French toast and pancakes. But you can eat whatever your heart desires.”

“You’re not married or taken, right?” You suddenly asked. “Shoot, I should’ve asked you so before I spent the night with you.”

“Doll, I’m not the kind of man going out with a lovely woman while having a girl at home,” Bucky sounded a little hurt at your question. “I swear, I’d never cheat on my girl.” He kissed your cheek. “We are not all assholes.”

“Bucky, I’m sorry,” you immediately said. “I didn’t want to accuse you of being a cheater. It’s just that you seem to be an alright guy and I wonder why you aren’t married yet.”

“An alright guy,” Bucky pressed one hand to his heart. “Only an alright guy?” He hiccupped. “I thought that I impressed you.”

“Bucky, you know that you impressed me,” you winked at Bucky. “A man like you knows how to impress a woman. You have the perfect eyes, and the smile, and know how to make a woman feel comfortable and safe.”

“How about I impress you some more and we go for dinner at your favorite restaurant? I reserved a table for two.” He hopefully looked at you. “If you don’t want to, I understand.”

“I’d love to,” you hastily said. Honestly, you didn’t want to be alone. Bucky was more than a nice distraction. “I’ll pay this time.”

“Y/N, you will soon find out that if I invite a lady for dinner, I’ll pay,” Bucky sat across the table and grabbed a croissant. “Always.”

“What if I eat the whole menu?” You smirked at Bucky. “You know, I’m a hungry lady and just got my heart broken. I’ll need lots of ice cream and sweets.”

“You should know by now that I love watching you eat.” He smirked and took a large bite of the croissant. 

You and Bucky spent the rest of the day removing the remnants of your former fiancé. He forgot a few clothes and nick-nacks you stuffed into a box.

And of course, there were still pictures of him and you in the picture frames staring at you like they wanted to mock you. 

“All done?” Bucky looked at the box you placed next to the door. “Can I get rid of it now or do you want to give it back?”

“I’ll throw it all away,” you shrugged. “It’s not my problem he forgot half of his shit. This happens when you only think with your downstairs brain half of the time.”

Bucky laughed before picking the box up. “I’ll throw it away for you, doll.” He watches your lips wobble. “I should be on my way and get fresh clothes, but I’ll be back soon. If I want to go out with you, I’ll need a new suit.”

True to his words, Bucky came back only two hours later. He wore a new dark-blue suit, and this irresistible smile when he knocked at your door.

Much to your surprise he offered a bouquet of daisies to you. He didn’t tell you that he picked the daisies for you on his way to your apartment. 

“I love daisies,” you smiled wildly. “Thank you, Bucky.”

“They made me think of you,” he softly said. “I saw the daisies on your pillows, and the picture on the wall.”

“I like them…a lot,” you grabbed his hand and squeezed it gently. “I like you too…a lot.”

“I like you a lot too, doll,” he held your hand for a while, looking you deep in the eyes. “Do you want to go for dinner with me, Y/N?”

“Yeah,” you nodded. “I’d love to join you for dinner, Mr. Barnes.”

“A table for two,” Bucky said to the hostess. “I reserved for James Buchanan Barnes.”

You watched the woman blanch at the mention of Bucky’s name. She nodded slowly and looked at her boss. “This—way.” She stammered, and you wondered why she looked scared out of a sudden.

She guided you and Bucky toward the best table at the restaurant.

“This is your favorite restaurant?” Bucky placed his hand on the small of your back and whispered in your ear. “I like it, doll.”

“It has the best Italian food,” you said and smiled softly. “I discovered it shortly after I moved to town.”

Again, Bucky pulled the chair for you. He didn’t know how nice it was to you that for once, someone did more than the bare minimum. “It’s nice.”

You smiled, and your heart fluttered. You felt comfortable around Bucky and couldn’t imagine spending the night with someone else.

“Do you want to spend the weekend at my house?” Bucky asked, watching you think about his offer. 

He was still a stranger to you, but you weren’t afraid of him or scared that he’d ever hurt you. Bucky’s eyes softened when you struggled to find an answer. “Sorry, doll. I shouldn’t have asked. I know we are still strangers.”

“No…we are friends,” you hastily said. “Right? We are friends, and I’d love to spend more time with you. You know so much about me already, and I barely know anything about you.”

He nodded slowly, eyes drifting toward someone behind your back. His features darkened, and he squared his jaw. Bucky inhaled sharply as the man breaking your heart stepped toward your table to stop right in front of your seat.

“I see you moved on very quickly,” your ex-fiancé sneered at you. “If only I knew you’re a slut.”

“If your ex is a loser like you, it’s easy to get over him,” you coolly replied, the voice never wavering. “You see, I moved on to someone better than you. As you said,” you smirked darkly. “I love him because I don’t love you anymore.”

“You fucking bitc—” your ex couldn’t finish his line. He was busy spitting blood and three of his teeth onto the floor. 

Faster than you could blink Bucky raised to his feet and punched your ex’s face. He watched his opponent fall to his knees, his fist bloody and his face hard.

“Never dare to even look my girl’s way. If you say her name, you are dead,” Bucky cocked his head to nod at someone storming inside the restaurant. “Sam, Steve, I want you to take care of this piece of shit.”

“Bucky,” you swallowed thickly watching the men grab your ex-fiancé to drag him out of the restaurant. “You hit him…for me.”

“Sure did,” he shrugged. “I defend what’s mine.” Bucky's features softened seeing the surprise and a hint of fear in your eyes. “Sorry. I usually don’t get violent on dates.”

“You hit him…for me,” you repeated. “No one ever did such a thing for me!” You jumped up to wrap Bucky in a hug. 

“Doll?” He wondered aloud. “Is everything alright?”

“You’re not a normal guy, right?” You glanced up at Bucky. “Your friends wore guns under their jackets and…people looked scared when you said your name.”

“Uh-I think we should talk about a few things, Y/N.”

“Bucky, are you a gangster?” You looked him straight in the eyes.

“Something like that…” He tried to avert your gaze. “What gave me away?”

“The way you carry yourself, and the gun hidden under your jacket,” you smirked. “I know it was a gun I felt when we first hugged.”

“Does this change things between us?”

“No,” hiding your face in his chest you sighed. “I don’t care about your profession, Bucky. From the first moment on, you cared for me.”

“So…can we still have this date now?”

“We will have one hell of a date, Mr. Barnes…”

The bright lights flashed as you watched Nick pose in front of the camera. You were currently at the photo shoot for his Valentine’s Day launch for Space Camp Wellness. You couldn’t be more proud as he flashed a smile at the photographer.

After taking a few more pictures, Nick came over to you with a playful smile on his face. He then said, "I have a crazy idea, but it's worth a shot.” You waited for him to continue, curious about his idea. “I want you to join me.”

Your eyes scanned over his face. He wore an expression of hope, his eyes begging for you to say yes. It would be a good idea since it was Valentine’s Day, and the fans knew all about your guys’ relationship. They absolutely adored the two of you together.

“Sure, I’ll do it.” Nick’s hopeful expression changed to a happy one, a big smile spreading across his face.

“Oh, I love you.” He leaned in a pressed a quick peck to your lips. His eyes scanned down your body, making you furrow your brows. “But I do need you to change.”

You let out a chuckle. “What's wrong with my outfit?”

“It’s just not very Valentine’s Day, that’s all. There should be an extra shirt in the dressing room.”

You entered Nick's dressing room and found the white button-up shirt he had mentioned. It matched perfectly with the red one he was wearing.

After you put on your shirt, you walked back over to Nick. "Much better," he said, taking your hand. He led you in front of the camera and instructed you to sit on a stool. You sat down and waited for Nick's next direction. "Now, hold this for me," he said, handing you a cherry-flavored lip balm. You held it up, smiling. Nick leaned in and kissed you on the cheek as the photographer snapped a photo.

After a few more poses, a brilliant idea pops into your head. “I just thought of something.” Nick turns to look at you, giving you his full attention. “What if we kiss, but hold up one of the balms in front of us? And instead of focusing on us, it focuses on the balm. We’ll just be blurry in the background.”

“I am so down,” he says as he grabs onto your hand.

The two of you stand in front of the camera, waiting for the photographer to adjust his camera. “Was this just an excuse to kiss me?” Nick asks with a smirk.

“Maybe,” you say, dragging out the e. “But stay focused. You can kiss me all you want later,” you say with a wink.

Nick softly laughs before he places a hand on your jaw. His hands are soft against your skin, lightly caressing the skin. You place your hand against his jaw, your thumb tracing his cheek. Your other hand holds up the cherry-flavored lip balm, his holding up the watermelon-flavored one.

“Three, two, one,” the photographer counts down. As he goes to press the button, you connect your lips with Nick’s. He syncs his lips up with yours, the two of you moving in a perfect rhythm. You can feel him smile into the kiss, which causes your lips to curl up into a smile.

As you pull away, you can’t help but smile. Nick keeps his eyes on you, watching as you smile at him. “You’ve been such a good help today, I can’t thank you enough.”

You take his hand in yours, rubbing circles on his skin with your thumb. “It’s pretty easy when I have such an amazing boyfriend.” He smiles before pulling you closer to him.

His arms wrap around your neck as he leans in, connecting his lips with yours. You allow your hands to cup his face as you move your lips, letting out a soft sigh. You couldn’t have been prouder of him.

a/n: i’ve looked at my first fic so many times that i’m starting to hate it so i’m gonna try and change up my style a little bit!

summary- due to the freezing weather, the triplets have to stay with you until the weather lets up

warnings- smutttt🤷‍♀️ kinda longgg but i rly like a good build up so bare with me

i have known nick matt and chris for as long as i can remember. our parents were best friends all throughout highschool, so growing up we spent every second together. I have a single mother, who raised me and my twin brother nate, so she always said marylou was just another parent for us.

they were there for all my birthday parties, they were there when my parents fought, they were there when i broke my leg for the first time, my first crush, every first day of school, and so much more.

nick was my all time best friend, i told him every detail about my life. he knew every one of my secrets. he knew all of my crushes, all of my fears, he was there when i got my first period, i called him after i had sex for the first time, and he was there when i cried in his arms after getting my heart shattered for the first time.

nick was basically the male version of me, so it was no surprise to him when i told him i had a crush on his triplet brother, matt. “it was obvious when you asked him to teach you how to ride a bike instead of me” he said popping candy into his mouth “nick i was like 9” i laughed. “the truth always unfolds” he says in a singy-songy voice “plus you’re the only person who laughs at his stupid jokes”

nick was right, every time matt would tell a joke it was like everything in the world was so funny. it was always like that around matt. every time i saw him it was like i had no control over my actions. i was just as close with him as i was nick and chris, but it was just different.

i discovered i had feelings for matt the summer before 8th grade. we were all at that age where you’ve just hit puberty and everything changes. we were out by the pool hanging out like the 5 of us always did when matt suddenly came up behind me, picked me up, and jumped in the water. after i got back up he made sure i was okay before laughing at me, and i laughed with him. he looked me in the eyes and tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. my heart fluttered

matt had always been so sweet to me, but this summer it was different. we spent so much time together. we were attached at the hip for the rest of the summer. that was until school started back, and we didn’t have any classes together so we never had time to talk

one day a new kid came into my class and he was super cute. the teacher sat him in the empty desk next to me and we immediately hit it off. “hey i’m derek” he spoke as he sat down. “y/n!” i replied flashing him a sweet smile. we sat by eachother for the rest of the semester. one day he needed help with the work, so i gave him my number to talk to me after school. that night we stayed up on the phone for hours.

he finally asked me out on valentine’s day. i knew that deep down i still had feelings for matt, but i had to put them aside and focus fully on derek. we dated all the way from eighth grade to the middle of sophomore year. he broke up with me after the homecoming dance, and for a while i thought my world was going to end.

i left the dance early with nate and the triplets, and cried with them by my side for hours. once they went to bed, nick stayed in my room with me and i cried in his arms for hours. the next morning when i went down stairs, there was a basket of all my favorite candies, a blanket, and a card that read “i’m super sorry about the breakup. i love you so big and hope you get better soon. love, matt” i called matt and thanked him for the basket.

fast forward through sophomore and junior year, and now it’s winter break of our senior year. nick and i are still best friends, but me and matt aren’t nearly as close as we used to be. and just to clarify, winter in boston is terrible. it never gets above 20 degrees, and it occasionally gets higher than 10. right now, we were currently in the middle of a snow storm, so we were trapped inside. my days consisted of watching my favorite movies while occasionally being bothered by nate.

it was getting late, so i decided to get in the shower. i grab my usual sleep wear, a small tank top and whatever pajama shorts i have in my drawer. i was home alone, but about 20 minutes into my shower i hear ringing at my doorbell. i hurry up and get dried off and dressed, when the doorbell rings again. “coming!” i yell as i hurry down the steps

i open the door as i’m greeted by a strong gust of cold air, and my 3 favorite faces. “hey guys come in!” i said as i stepped out of the way “our pipes are entirely frozen until the ground defrosts, nate said we could stay here for a bit” nick said explaining the sudden visit. just as matt walked through the door, he leaned down close to my ear and whispered “you must be so cold in that outfit.” i looked down at ny chest, my nipples clearly hard from the cold air. fuck. i quickly ran upstairs to cover myself before coming back downstairs.

“nice hoodie” is all i hear then i look up to see matt staring at me. i look down to see the hoodie i was wearing. it was one matt gave me last winter when i didn’t have anything to wear one night at their house. i smile back at him and say “yeah i got it from this really weird kid on the side of the road once” “he must have good taste” he said matching my energy.

that was the thing about matt. i could go forever without talking to him and still feel like it had only been a day. as the three got settled on the couch. i grabbed blankets from my basket and distributed them. “aww no way you still have that!” chis said referring to my blanket. i looked at it and noticed it was the blanket matt gave me after my breakup. i know it’s old, but it’s always been my favorite blanket. i used it on every occasion, and it’s seen many tears.

as the movie started i couldn’t help but stare at matt when he wasn’t looking. the way the screen lit his face so perfectly in the dark light of the living room. then he opened up his phone and began typing. i few minutes later, i hear my phone go off.

matt: you seemed so cold earlier i’m glad my hoodie and blanket can keep you warm.

me: i’m glad too 😛🥶

matt: i almost forgot how good you looked in my hoodies.

me: matt what?

matt: you know how i feel about you.

just because you changed in 8th grade doesn’t mean i forgot about us.

i put my phone down and ran to my room. all it took was one text from matt and now i’m all hot and bothered. i sat on my bed trying to catch my breath. once i my hands stopped shaking so dramatically, i started typing up a text for nick.

He makes a choked sound and you watch as the panel in front of you opens.
