You had been taken and tested for a meta gene by mada trafficking

And you has been saved in the first few rads

2 was also easy you had wanted to help so you did as a hero with your new powers

3 he had to ask you him self

So jaime got you to go to lunch with him and a friend

Hey you didn't know who the friend was

Till you saw tye sitting alone

You walk over and greeted him like it has only been moments since you spoke last

He was shock to see you

Over a year has passed

"What happen" he asked completely skipping the greeting

" a lot" you said calmly "got taken, because and lab rat, broke free"

You talked for hours till the restaurant closed for the night

Then you talked more

You both opened up

3's answer was you had not wanted to go home after your life was flipped on its head

After months you unofficial started to date

Soon if was official and kinda long distance yet not as you visited a lot

Till he mives to Hollywood to get away from his moms boyfriend

Then you moved in together after 4ish years

Life together was amazing

You spit house work

You also helped him with his power and controlling it

His grand father love you more than tye honestly

Runaways (With Me) [Yj Runaways x Pregnant!Reader] 

Summary : Like the rest of the meta-teens abducted by the Reach, you were a runway. Except, the reason why you ran away was because you were pregnant. Being a teenage mom is difficult, and that, coupled that with the fact that aliens experimented on you to give you powers you neither wanted nor understood, made it even more complicated. But you're not alone. Because the Runaways run from everything, except each other.

Chapter 1: A Secret No More

Today seemed like any other day in this horrible underwater base that you’ve been trapped in for who knows his long. The Reach pulled you out of your pod and dragged your terrified trembling figure onto the examination table for more tests. You could hear your friends’ muffled yelling and banging inside their pods in the background. 

You squirmed helplessly as the cold uncaring binds automatically clamped down your wrists and ankles, leaving you defenseless to the female Reach scientist that you have unfortunately grown accustomed to during your time captive. But she wasn’t alone today, another Reach alien, this time a male, stood beside her. 

“Well? What is it that you wanted to tell me?” The male one asked the female scientist, appearing almost bored. He stared at you with contempt, making you whimper fearfully. 

“I’ve been scanning this human for a while now, and I have discovered something that you might find rather interesting..” The scientist tapped something in her advanced holopad, and above all of you, a hologram that vaguely resembled an ultrasound was projected. 

And there you saw it. Your baby. Still taking shape, their little heart had just started forming. 

Tears were spilling down your eyes with both awe and love for the little life that you carried, but also the implications of what these alien species would do to it now that they knew about their existence. 

“What exactly am I looking at?” The male Reach asked the scientist as he stared at the hologram above. 

“This human seems to be impregnated. Further research can be performed on her to see what we could do with the youngling. Data analysis shows that they often portray a more powerful version of their carrier’s power.” The scientist explained, just how you feared. The male hummed with intrigue. 

But what you really feared was the reactions of your new friends, all of them looking at the hologram of your baby above them; huge and in display for everyone to see. 

“No way. [Y/N], you’re pregnant?!” Virgil cried, staring at you in disbelief. It was an expression Tye and Eduardo shared. Even Asami, with her basic English skills, seemed to understand what was going on. 

“Tonde Monai…” She whispered breathlessly, her beautiful heterochromic eyes staring deeply into you. 

“I-I wanted to tell you…” You sobbed, closing your eyes and sharply turned your head away in shame “I swear I wanted to tell you.” 

“This information can be most useful.” The male Reach’s voice cut through your revelation like a battering ram, making you feel even worse, "Start immediate experimentation on the girl. We shall see how powerful a meta-human can be when it’s subjected to stress since the womb.” 

“No! Leave her alone, monstruos!” Eduardo yelled, banging on his pod harder than ever with your other friends doing the same. 

But it was too late. The Reach scientist was already leading your examination table away, with you squirming helplessly in place. 

“Guys!” You cried out to them, as scared tears continued streaming down your face. 

“[Y/N]! Stay strong!” You heard Tye shout to you, voice strong and composed, “For the sake of both you and your child, you have to remain strong!” 

You sobbed, closing your eyes. You wished this was all a nightmare that you could wake up from. 

I’m sorry, you told the baby that had the misfortune of growing inside of you I’m so sorry, little one. You don’t deserve this. 

You wouldn’t be seeing your friends again for a long time.

(in Japan it's typically considered impolite to acknowledge a sneeze, but after a few times, she'd say something. Iirc blowing your nose esp around other people is gross & impolite, too.)

Tye Longshadow w/ a Girlfriend who Suffers from Anxiety

A/N: I obviously have anxiety and it’s pretty recent so yeah comfort headcanons with the BEST BOY

He knows what anxiety is in general, it’s a lot more common nowadays so he’s heard of it but he doesn’t know all the specifics

But he’ll notice you bounce your leg a lot, fidget with your fingers, chew on your lip, stuff like that and he can tell you’re nervous but he doesn’t get that it’s anxiety until you talk to him about it and let him know you have it

He’ll ask any questions he has, he doesn’t want to make you uncomfortable with them but he kinda needs to know this type of thing about you. So like he’ll ask about what your triggers are, stuff that helps you calm down, things like that so he can understand it better and help you out

He’s kinda awkward when it comes to the actual comforting part, but he’s a pro at helping you manage it. Like he’ll actively keep you away from stuff that triggers your episodes, if you seem off he’ll quietly ask you if somethings wrong and if you nod he’ll excuse the two of you so you can calm down somewhere else

If a nice hot drink helps you relax, he’ll happily make it for you. If you need to be alone for a little bit, he can totally do that. If you just need someone to be there, he’ll be silent so you can focus on calming down

If you need something physical, he of course will hold you and such but he’s just a little tense and awkward about it

Okay but doing something with my hands helps me, like doing a really simple puzzle or squeezing a stress ball or petting my cat, so HIM LETTING YOU BRAID HIS HAIR FOR HIM

Fresh air and a calming atmosphere are a really bit help to clear your head too, so he’ll sit out on the porch with you and just enjoy the scenery silently together

If your anxiety attack ever escalates to a panic attack, he’ll be right with you but he’s kind of freaking out a tad himself. He just panics cause he’s not quite sure what to do, but if panic attacks make you throw up (they do for me) then he’ll hold your hair back and rub your back. They also wear you out so much too and I always need a nap afterwards, so he’ll lay with you and text Jaime for some pointers on how to help you

You join the Young Justice team as kind of an act of rebellion

You were getting pissed off because the Avengers wouldn’t listen to you

It’s not like you were powerless, you had abilities

Your father didn’t want you out on the field because you were his little girl and it was dangerous out there

And while you did understand that

It was pissing you off because they wouldn’t listen to you when it came to something as small as what route to take

Just because you were a kid

So, you decided that you’d go to a team where being a kid isn’t a problem

You’re integrated quite quickly since you’re representing the Avengers

When your dad found out though, he was heartbroken

Steve tried to comfort him being like “She needs to leave the nest so she can spread her wings and fly.”

“Shut the hell up, Steve.”

“I’m sorry dad, I just had to do this.”

“I understand, baby doll, just be safe okay?”

“And bring back a batarang or something!”

“Tony!!”

The others are quite jealous that you have such a non-problematic relationship with your dad

You meet Tye through the team and you immediately hit it off

He was very lowkey and cool which was a welcome change from Tony and Thor back in New York

You two spend a lot of time together, even outside of the team

Mostly at the skatepark

Even if you don’t know how to skateboard

“You know how to shoot a gun and steer an airship. But you can’t skateboard?”

“I just don’t understand how you can control where this thing goes just by putting your feet on it.”

He usually teaches you how and definitely teases you about wearing knee pads

“You’ve been through countless fights.”

“And I never scrape my knees thanks to these babies!”

He hears ALOT about your family

Since you’ve never been away from your family for too long

You begin to miss them very quickly

He can tell you’re getting homesick because of the sheer amount that you talk about it

Even when it doesn’t seem related

“You know my dad likes pecan pie.”

“We’re eating quesadillas.”

But you never say that you miss them or are feeling homesick because you don’t want anyone to think you’re a baby

But Tye realizes and wants to do something nice for you

So, he snatches your phone when you’re not paying attention and contacts your dad

And Bucky is only too happy to drop everything and fly over there to see you

“Dad?”

“Hey, baby.”

You totally ran across the room, flying right into your dad’s arms

Good thing he has a metal arm because otherwise the sheer impact would have gotten him flat on his ass

Tye is quietly watching from the side-lines and he’s unknowingly smiling just watching you hug your dad tightly

Even though it’s not the case for him, he knows that you’re really close to your dad

And it makes him happy to see you happy

But he never makes anything of it

Until Jaime literally brings it to his attention

“You literally bent over backwards so her dad would be allowed in here.”

“That’s only because she missed her dad.”

“I miss my mother, too.”

“Then call her for god’s sake, are you that lazy?”

After hearing it from Jaime, Tye becomes a little more aware

And he quickly realizes that he’s falling for you

It kind of freaks him out a bit

So, he gets a little quiet

More than usual

“You sure you’re okay, Tye?”

“Yep, Bueno.”

“Okay....”

You don’t spend a lot of time with Tye that week, opting to stick to your dad and show him around

He isn’t as upset as he thought he would be

And a part of him wants to bring to your attention that he was the one who called your dad so he can get your affection

But ultimately decides against it

But you find out eventually, through your father

“You aren’t going to introduce me to your boyfriend?”

“Who? Tye?”

“Yeah, he was the one who called me over here.”

That day the hug you give Tye nearly knocks him off his feet and he’s blushing but hides his face in your shoulder

“Thank you...”

“No problem.”

The crush becomes embarrassingly obvious after that

But it’s quite obvious that he’s stuck in the friendzone

And everyone around him just cringes every time he tries to tell you how he feels and you just have no idea

“Let’s go on a date to that restaurant.”

“Great idea! Let’s call Jaime too, he wanted to try out the food there.”

“(Y/N), I like you.”

“Cute, but flattery doesn’t work on me, you’re not getting any more of my fries.”

Your dad finds it incredibly amusing

A part of him wants to tell you because it’s downright painful to watch

But another wants to kill Tye for even looking at you

Tye eventually thinks of a good idea

He knows how much you look up to your dad

So, he thinks that taking your dad’s permission before asking you out would probably be a good way to show you that he likes you

But your dad wasn’t born yesterday

“Drop and give me 50.”

“What?”

“You heard me. My daughter isn’t going to date a weakling. I want 50 pushups.”

He can’t even get through 15 of them but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t try

Luckily for him, you get there just in time to see him faceplant onto the ground

“What the heck is he doing?” You ask your dad

“Physical test.”

“For what?”

“Application to be your boyfriend.”

“Oh. OH!”

And your blushing and really very happy because Tye? The guy you’ve been crushing on since you got here? Likes you back?

And he’s just like “I’m sorry did you just say physical test? You mean there’s a written test?”

There isn’t actually a written test

But Tony sends him 300 questions to be finished in 16 minutes just to mess with him

Tye is touched-starved and loves affection so you spend a lot of time in each other’s rooms just cuddling

Dates are lowkey but still intimate

And he is possibly the most supportive boyfriend you can find out there

Totally supports you in anything

But offers his true judgement and honest advice when you need to hear it

Since you still miss your dad at time, zoom calls with the three of you are a thing

“Move over Tye, I can’t see my daughter.”

“Whoops, sorry sir.”

In actuality, you were sitting on his lap and Tye pouted when you had to move off it

Tye and Bucky being part of the ‘Amazing hair team.’

“Can I join?”

“No, Clint, your hair sucks.”

Bucky doesn’t give him the traditional dad speech but he does intimidate him every chance he gets

Of course, it doesn’t help that he actually owns and knows how to use multiple guns

Tye thought that meeting the Avengers would actually be normal

He can’t imagine why

Tony kept trying to embarrass you; “Hey, boyfriend! Look at pictures of (Y/N) crying when her dad had to go for a mission.”

Clint was fake-crying; “Oh, my darling baby is all grown up.”

Thor was generally confused but what’s new

Bruce was just in the middle of the chaos, trying to pretend that these are not the people that he works with

Natasha was like; “You’ll name your daughter Natasha, right? You won’t betray me like Clint did?” “I DIDN’T BETRAY YOU; GOD DID!”

And Steve just comes up to him in a pink apron, offering cookies

“Yep, let’s go back now.”

Gives nose/forehead kisses

He does, sort of - he does those things, but he just loves to touch your face, like, all the time. You usually kind of lean into it and end up kissing him full on the lips.

Gets jealous the most

Tye’s not the jealous type exactly - but for some reason, if he needs more attention from you, he sort of recedes and doesn’t say anything and gets just a tad sullen. But you’ve known him long enough to know that when he gets really quiet, something’s up.

Picks the other up from the bar when they’re too drunk to drive

Neither of you are drinking at bars. You are underage and that is not happening on my watch. And I can’t see Tye being super interested in alcohol to begin with, really. 

Takes care of on sick days

He loves taking care of you so much that in a sort of weird way you almost look forward to cold season. Your favorite part? Once you’re safe in bed with everything you need nearby, he’ll sit beside the bed and sing you to sleep.

Drags the other person out into the water on beach day

Neither of you gets super-excited about the beach - you prefer to go to cooler, less crowded beaches and just walk along the sand and talk. If you end up in the water it’s because someone said something stupid and the other person pushed them in. Which, of course, requires splashing, pulling in after and such until you’re both soaked and laughing.

Gives unprompted massages

You do - and your cue to start is if he’s walking stiffly and muttering under his breath (getting dropped on the ground after losing an astral form can’t be good for his back.) And he always responds with a surprise smile and a kiss.

Drives/rides shotgun

It really depends on who’s more tired and who actually wants to drive at the moment.

Brings the other lunch at work

He does, with his hands in his pockets and a bashful smile.

Has the better parental relationship

Probably you, considering his home situation.

Embarrassingly drunk dancer

You you you. But he never gets embarrassed by you - in fact, he’s usually looking at you proudly.

Still cries watching Titanic

You don’t really watch it, unless it’s to giggle at the cheesy love story and turn it off before it gets sad.

Firmly believes in couples costumes

You try relentlessly every year to get him to dress up with you, but he never does. He will, however, buy you cheap Halloween candy on the first of November.

Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas

You do - because (within reason) you look at the gift first - and what it will mean to him - way before you look at the price tag.

Makes the other eat breakfast

He’s not an obsessive worry wort or anything, but if he notices you aren’t eating enough he’ll either bring it up casually or just make sure there’s food for you to eat in the morning. He’s gone as far as getting up an hour early to make you bacon and pancakes.

Remembers anniversaries

You do b/c you’re sentimental af.

Brings up having kids

He does! Much later of course, once you’re adults in a stable relationship and not teenagers just falling in love - but by then it’s been on his mind for a long time.

Chapter 3: STAR Labs

It’s been over a month since you and your friends were stationed at STAR Labs "for your own good". And even longer since you were rescued from the Reach.

But to your friends, it doesn’t feel all that different. After all, you’re still being tested day in and day out. The only real change is that STAR pretends to be nicer about it.

You, at least, have it a little easier—thanks to your pregnancy. You’re already in your second month. Half your tests focus on managing your new ice powers: what shapes you can form, how long they last… but mostly, what triggers them. Your powers are tied directly to your emotions. If you’re upset, frost starts crawling down your fingertips. In the worst cases, you can drop the room’s temperature without even realizing it.

The scientists at STAR Labs have taught you techniques to stay calm. Meditation, so far, has been the most effective—not just for your powers, but for soothing the baby as well.

Speaking of which, STAR has also tried to run tests on your child. Every time, you shied away. It reminded you too much of the Reach and what they tried to do. And while the STAR team always reassured you—We just want to take a look. We just want to make sure it’s healthy—you know better.

You know what they really want is to make sure your baby isn’t dangerous.

Right now, you’re sitting on a bench in the testing area, cradling your belly, flanked by Tye and Asami. The three of you watch as Virgil, hooked up to a web of electrode nodes, manipulates a trash can lid with his electromagnetic powers, making it float mid-air.

The room is cold. Not in temperature—the climate is tightly controlled—but in atmosphere. All sterile steel and hard lines. Thick walls. Cameras in every corner. A place that makes you feel more like a lab rat than a person.

“Not just the lid. The entire can,” says Doctor Wilcox—your assigned researcher—his voice dry and clipped over the comm from the observation room.

Virgil growls in frustration. He whips the lid into the wall with a loud clang, embedding it deep in the metal.

“Doc, we’ve been at this for five hours straight!” he snaps, ripping the nodes off his face. “How about a lunch break?!”

The rest of you glance toward the observation window, silently agreeing. You could all use one.

Wilcox checks his chronometer, then lets out a short sigh. “Take twenty minutes.”

All of you eagerly trudged out of the testing area, barely containing your groans of relief. Virgil kept muttering angrily under his breath, his frustration over the failed test still evident in every tense movement.

“Don’t worry, Virgil. I think you did great,” you offered, gently gripping his wrist in encouragement.

He glanced at you and gave a small, grateful smile—just before raised voices echoed from around the corner.

“You heard me! I’m sick and tired of the testing! We all are!” Eduardo’s voice rang out from his father’s office—fierce, impassioned, and tinged with his familiar Argentine accent. “I mean—[Y/N] is pregnant! ¡Está embarazada!”

“Mijo, we must continue,” came the measured but tense reply from Doctor Eduardo Dorado Sr., his frustration barely veiled behind his calm tone.

“They’re at it again…” Tye murmured, sharing a look with the rest of you.

Curiosity pulled you all toward the closed office door. The conversation inside was too heated not to hear.

“Why?! Just to prove your theory?!” Eduardo shouted, a loud slam following his words as he pounded on the desk.

“Sí, Eduardo!” his father snapped back, “I spent two decades perfecting my Zeta Beam technology—and now my son has teleportation powers?! This cannot be a coincidence!”

He unceremoniously slapped a folder onto the desk, then took a slow breath before continuing, his tone forced into composure. “The Meta-Gene the Reach activated inside you must be opportunistic—taking advantage in what is present in the subject’s system.”

You paused at that.

You had spent most of your life in (Home Country), but before that, your family had lived in Alaska—back when your father’s job required it. A frozen, isolated landscape… Could that be why your powers manifested as ice? Was it something the Meta-Gene copied from your past?

And if that was true… what would that mean for your child?

You instinctively placed your hands over your belly, gently rubbing it as you considered the implications.

“Only the subject doesn’t care!” Eduardo’s voice suddenly cut through your thoughts, angrier than before. “I want a cure, not an explanation!” 

There was a pause. Then, in a tone like a blade drawn slowly from a sheath, Doctor Dorado responded: “…You have only yourself to blame. None of this would’ve happened if you hadn’t run away from your abuelo’s home in Argentina.”

The words hung in the air—quiet, but sharp. Eduardo stood still, his body rigid. He didn’t react right away… but the silence said enough.

“I thought I wanted to be with my father,” he said at last, voice cold. “What a mistake that turned out to be.”

Then he turned on his heel and stormed out, the office door slamming shut behind him—only to stop abruptly when he found all of you outside.

“O-Oh! Hey, Ed! We were just, uh… passing by. Didn’t hear a thing,” Newt stammered awkwardly.

He was an older teen, one who had been in STAR Labs longer than all of you combined. Newt was the first Metahuman the Reach had successfully experimented on—and then unleashed. He tried to kill the Flash once, and nearly blew up Central City. Thankfully, he was stopped, rehabilitated, and brought back to himself. He was nice enough… but his nervous, overly accommodating nature didn’t exactly win him points with your group.

“Doesn’t matter. Same old, same old,” Eduardo muttered, brushing past you with a defeated slouch.

“C’mon,” Virgil urged. “We’ve only got about twelve minutes left for lunch—and you know how Doc Wilcox gets when we’re late.”

You resumed your walk down the corridor together, tension still clinging to the group like static.

“This is so messed up,” Tye grumbled, voice rising. “STAR’s as bad as the Reach, and worse than home.”

“Tye, there’s no way this is as bad as the Reach ,” Newt piped up, frowning with his hands on his hips like a scolding mom. 

“Whatever, Newt. All I know is I can’t take much more of this place,” Tye snapped.

Virgil gave him a sideways look, then reached out and clapped a hand on Tye’s shoulder, his expression shifting into a sly grin.

“You won’t have to,” he said, voice low and full of promise. “Because we’re busting out tonight.”

Being a teenage mom is difficult, and that, coupled with the fact that aliens experimented on you to give you powers you neither wanted nor understood, made it even more complicated. But you're not alone. Because Runaways run from everything, except each other.

You stared at the pregnancy test in your hands, trembling is if you were holding a bomb, with horror. You read the results over and over, wishing that you somehow misread it, but it was still read the same. 

Positive. 

Positive. Positive. Positive. 

You were pregnant. You were pregnant. You were pregnant at the ripe age of fifteen! 

You didn’t meant to. You swear you didn’t mean to. But all it took was a boy to use a couple of convincing words for him to take advantage of your naivety and go to town with you, only for him to disappear from your life immediately afterwards. 

Now what? You couldn’t possibly tell your parents; they were a strict Catholic couple, they would never accept that their daughter got pregnant while still being a teenager, or had relationships out of wedlock. And you were never the most popular girl at school; the other kids will certainly make your life even more of a living hell. And the teachers never bothered helping you, at best they’ll just pity you. 

That wasn’t the life you wanted to live. That wasn’t the life you wanted to give to your baby. Even if it was never your intention to have one, you knew that he or she wasn’t responsible for what had happened to you. And you swore that you will give them the life you never got to have. 

So, you did the only thing you could think of. You ran way. 

You grabbed all the essentials you might need—money, clothes and the like—and went to the nearest bus station to buy a ticket to nowhere. 

But just as you were waiting by the bus stop, a large hand suddenly emerged from the shadows behind you and covered your face with chloroform. You were too stunned to react or even fight back, and before you knew it, darkness had consumed you completely. 

When you opened your eyes again, you were suddenly trapped inside a strange pod container with four other unconscious teens besides you, all trapped inside the same pods. You desperately banged on the pod, fearfully trying to escape but with little success. 

You thought running away would be the hardest thing you’d ever experienced. 

You were wrong. 

You had no other choice but to adapt to your new reality. You learned that your abductors were aliens called the Reach who had kidnapped runaway children in order to experiment on them. Subjecting them to different scenarios, each one worse than the last, in order for the kids to activate something called a meta-gene that gave them superpowers. 

Why? You didn’t know. But not every kid was lucky. Some of them weren’t able to survive in the scenarios the Reach put them through and ended up dying, while others never showed any signs of developing powers. When that happened, it was likely that you will never see them again. Nobody knew what happened to them, but you had a pretty good idea that the Reach 'disposed' of them by killing them. 

As for you, you were one of the “lucky” ones. You survived each experiments that the Reach performed on you, which mostly consisted on placing you in a below zero environment. Every time they put you in that horrid ice box, you would rub your belly as if trying to warm your baby from the outside; to try and protect them from the cruel environment you two had been trapped in against your will. 

In the end, you ended up gaining cryokinetic abilities. You could generate a virtually infinite amount of ice and snow formations, so long as you thought about it. 

You were then placed with the other “successes”, the other four teens that were beside you when you woke up for the first time. 

Their names were Virgil Hawkings, Tye Longshadow, Eduardo Dorado and Asami Koizumi. 

Like you, they were runaways or at least most of them were. Virgil insisted that he was merely mistook for a runaway and he actually had a close relationship with his family. 

The five of you became close during your time as the Reach’s test subjects, always comforting one another as best as you could whenever things got bad, or when the experiments got particularly cruel. Over time, you learned more about your new friends which you started to consider more as your family. 

Virgil was kind and down to earth. He would often talk about his family, and about how worried they must be. 

Tye was the oldest one here and as such, he took somewhat of a protecter role within your little group. He was often reserved, not talking much about his life previous to his abduction, only that he couldn’t stand it anymore. Whenever you were too afraid to sleep, he would always sing to you a traditional Mescalero Apache lullaby in hushed tones. 

Eduardo was a spunky guy, but also one with a big heart. The reason why he ran away in the first place was because he wanted to be closer to his father. Whenever you were dragged away for more experiments, he always tried to fight back to get the Reach guards to leave you alone by trying to break free of his containment pod with little success. And when they finally dragged you back to your pod, he was always the first one to ask if you were okay. 

Asami didn’t speak any English, only Japanese. But you still didn’t had a problem to understand the message she was trying to convey. Despite the circumstances, she retained a bright and bubbly personality, which never failed to cheer up your day. 

Each of you runaways, each of you with nowhere else to go and from broken homes. But fate or maybe something worse have brought you together, and for that, you couldn’t be more grateful.

Chapter 2: Cornered

It has been a week since you and your friends have been rescued from the Reach.

Right now, you was sitting next to Tye as you waited your turn to be consoled (or interviewed) by Black Canary. It was hard to tell the difference lately. 

A boy with auburn hair, bright green eyes and tan skin (wearing a white and red suit) sat next to a giant walking fish. And besides said boy was another hero wearing blue Reach armor. You couldn’t help but glance at him again and again, a prickle of unease running down your spine. Any second now, you half-expected the Scarab to lash out and take control.

"Thank you, Virgil" Black Canary said as said boy left the room and sat down on the other side of Eduardo, "[Y/N]?"

You swallowed hard, your hand automatically drifting to your belly—a nervous reflex. The bump had begun to show, just barely, but enough to make it real. A soft, reassuring hand squeezed your shoulder. Asami.

You always knew who it was by touch alone. Virgil’s always left a tiny static to them thanks to his powers. Tye’s were rough and calloused, and his grip was often firm but gentle. Eduardo’s were gloved and lingering—perhaps because affection was so rare for him.

In Asami’s case, hers were small. Delicate. Softer than fresh snow.

Giving her a quick thankful smile, you stood and followed Black Canary into the room, still cradling your small bump. She sat at a desk and you sat on the other side, refusing to meet her gaze. 

"Hello [Y/N], I am Black Canary" she began, "Nothing you say here will leave this room"

You looked at the recording device in front of her and frowned. "Then why is there a camera?"

She smiled kindly, "so that I can remember what you say"

You nodded.

"Can you tell me what happened when you were with the Reach?" she asked.

You stared at her before swallowing thickly and looking down.

"They tortured us, said something about a Metagene. After a certain number of tests, those who didn't activate one were taken and we never saw them again. My tests consisted on locking me inside a room at a below zero environment. Somehow, I made it out alive with powers. But then… they found out I was pregnant. They wanted to run the same experiments on the baby. See if they could make something stronger. " You cut yourself off and looked away, ashamed. You clutched your belly tightly. 

"I couldn’t protect them" you whispered.

Black Canary reached across the table and gently touched your shoulder. You flinched, then met her eyes.

"Come see me whenever you need to" she said before calling for Asami in.

You returned to your seat and leaned into Tye, letting your body sink into his warmth. Sleep took you quickly.

…

Cold. It was cold. So cold.

It hurts. 

Hands. Hands everywhere. 

Wait, hands? 

“Shh, it’s okay baby. You can trust me.” 

Oh no. It’s him! Not this again! 

The small beep of confirmation from a pregnancy test. 

Two damming lines. 

“You are a disgrace to this family, [Y/N].” 

…

You bolted upright with a gasp, heart slamming against your ribs like it was trying to escape. Tye's shoulder shifted under you, and he turned quickly, eyes wide with concern.

“Hey. You alright?”

You met his gaze but didn’t answer. Around you, the others—Asami, Eduardo, Virgil—were watching too. All of them wore the same look. Worry, but not pity. Never pity.

You nodded stiffly, your hand instinctively protecting your belly.

Just then, two men and a woman entered. All of them were wearing lab coats with the words 'STAR Labs' on them. You stiffened and stared at them, cradling your belly, worried why they were here. Tye’s grip on your arm tightened. Asami took your hand in hers, and Eduardo quietly slid forward, subtly placing himself between you and the strangers. Virgil didn’t move at all—but you could feel the heat of his glare like a static charge in the air.

Black Canary approached with her usual calm demeanor. “These are specialists from STAR Labs,” she said, turning toward you all. “They’re here to help.”

You narrowed your eyes, one hand never leaving your stomach.

"How do we know they won't experiment on us like the Reach did?!" Tye demanded, crossing his arms over his chest.

"We would be thrown in jail if we did and we are not that cruel.” the female doctor said.

You didn't like them already.
