Oh, well here's something new.

Just like John, Jake's a bit of a goof - but he's not stupid. He's fully aware that Jane's got a bit of a crush, and I take it they've been dancing around the elephant in this room for quite a while.

Does he also know about Roxy's crush on him? Or, for that matter, the Auto-Responder's? I have to assume so - neither are very subtle - which means that Jake's in an awkward position where no matter what he does, he's going to hurt at least two of his friends' feelings, and he knows it.

You've thought about it, but you haven't acted on those feelings, even though you know they'd be reciprocated, so I don't think you're exactly seeing sparks. I reread their earlier conversation, and I really don't get a romantic vibe between them. (Hell, I get a stronger romantic vibe between Jane and Roxy, but I'm a little biased.)

This line, at least, makes a lot more sense now - and in retrospect, it reads as more than a little uncomfortable. Jake doesn't seem to want to bring the issue up at all...

...but the fact that he keeps vaguely drawing attention to it makes me think he wants her to bring it up. He wants to resolve it, but he's too awkward to initiate the conversation himself.

I think our boy is simply a rather poor communicator - which is unfortunate, because that trait does not pair well with his position as the kid everyone's got a crush on.

ooo. thinking specifically as him in like late 20s to early 30s,,,,

i think he would, funnily enough, end up the "nice one" of the four (i think of any of them were that pre-curse it was raph because outside of combat he is noticeably respectful of manners and social rules, and he definitely still comes close in second place in cc). if any of them have kids (not sure if he will? maybe), he'd be the uncle they'd always go to ask to do things, because he'll usually say yes and wont get in hot water for enabling them. he doesn't really act chastising and he's not particularly stern, and there is a bit of that manic glee back. he'll support a little controlled chaos.

he's quiet and a bit of a people-watcher. sometimes the most fun he can have is to step back and watch them all go a little apeshit, without feeling like he's expected to match their energy. he's kind of awkward and quiet around strangers, occasionally standoffish and unintentionally blunt, but once you get him out of his shell a little he's comfortable talking. he'll probably ask a few times if he's talking too much or too loud, but when that energy is fostered he can go on for a long time.

he's still a giver, he's just more open about his intentions, he gets really nervous even well into adulthood when presenting things because that desperation for them to like it is there full-force. still a kicked puppy in the face of perceived rejection. he's pretty introspective and he takes to rationalizing and deconstructing his feelings to cope and self-soothe. he's probably gotten some therapy at this point because i imagine he'd be pardoned from his Various Crimes (<3) due to either the shredder or the kraang, it was just a long and arduous process to get citizenship and find the right one and be able to open up to them. it's not something that entered his life until recently, and it's really been helping.

he likes routines a lot. he's neurotic, still an obsessive cleaner. he likes to bake and his garden just seems to keep growing and growing it's getting out of control. he prefers to plan out his days hour-by-hour out of dislike for surprises and because it means he can plan a lot of outings ahead-- he can handle spontaneity, it just makes him nervous, unless it's a huge disruption, then he gets real upset lol.

talking to him is easy in the way that he's very polite and kind and appeasing, and hard in the way that he's quick to go on tangents and overly explain himself when he thinks he phrased something wrong, or to clarify vague phrasing or etc. he tends to talk in circles and gets nervous when he thinks he's been going on too long. he's effortlessly charming when you can actually get a conversation out of him, so i do think he's well-liked by almost everyone in his life. he's just a very easy person to like, but stressful as fuck to love. he does insist for his own independence and still struggles to reach out unless he needs to, "dont worry about [it/me]" probably comes out of his mouth more than anything else lmfao.

his bite has returned, but its,, subdued. him and raph dont really do it anymore, but he'll joke around with leo. it will come into full force with mikey though. he's the only person he'll get loud and proud around, mostly because the dynamic they've always had doesn't really make mikey get as overtly mean back. he just laughs along with it. the closeness they developed in cw is still very obvious. him and april also back to their older closeness (leo kind of stole his role as april's Official Number One Bestie but donnie TOOK IT BACK AHAHAHA), their relationship has significantly gentled. april likes to do exciting things, but donnie has become the best person to be around when she needs some quiet.

Ok hear me out on this idea qsmp skephaloers I'm talking to you

I've had this fic idea for YEARS. like. actual years since the dsmp days and I'm obsessed

Ok so. I am in awe I havent really seen content of this idea at all but the TLDR is that one day the CCs wake up as their characters, on the island, eggs (which are baby dragons) and all And I don't just mean "woah omg the qsmp is real we're our characters" I mean like. Shock. Body Horror. Parental responsibilities put on these people they never expected to have, forms features and instincts they have to get used to. Phil, Quackity, Baghera, Jaiden? Hva eto get used to having feathers and other birdisms, but they have the easiest out of all the members who werent just mostly humanoid, Bad, Bagi, and Foolish for example? Have newly aqquired teeth claws strange anatomy and all sorts of other wackadoodle stuff O_o

This fic would be verrrrryyy skephalo centric, Skeppy is at his motel with Jr and eventually Puffy, that must have been a shocker lmao

I've actually sketched out a lot for this idea (specifically Bad's pov waking up and a bit of Skeppy's pov) hold on

I feel like bad and the other islanders would be working on stuff/trying to figure shit out while Puffy and Skeppy (and jr) were all trying to find if anyone else they knew was around Bad would claim he somehow "felt" Skeppy was somewhere (which is his demon soulbond he has with Skeppy, it's not just a normal feeling cough cough) and Skeppy would be convinced Bad HAD to be around also because Jr and Puffy were there, they were their characters, the fictional kid he had with Bad was with him so he just had to be Quackity and the other admins would ofc not be the gatekeeping overlords of the island and actively work to figure shit out, including using the train system and seeing if anyone else they knew was around I have an idea that they'd send people out from the island, (like maybe group members who havent met skeppy before) who find Skeppy/jr/puffy, and realize who they are Bad would have stayed on the island because of his protectiveness over the eggs (thanks demon instincts) and couldnt leave them, and they figured he'd be the best bet to keep them safe anyways, + he was losing hope that his "feeling" that skeppy was around was real and just delusion that is UNTIL the other islanders come back with a new few people ermmm shocked teary reunion when

Why does he feel like Dapper and the other eggs need to stay close to him at all times/ride on his back? Instead of his regular nervous bbh sounds he makes inhuman garbles and growls which is new, not to menation the mountainload of other things like his anatomy and going from a warm to cold blooded creature LOL his eyesight is also different and he's sensitive to light - Skeppy and Bad have like. actual children now which is a huge fucking deal hello??? They gotta navigate and talk that shit out because jr is like a 5 year old and Dapper + the other eggs while still being the admins are baby dragons O_o They went through crazy changes as well, being a baby animal comes with having baby behavior despite their intelligence - Besides ALL THAT after being overjoyed with seeing eachother again, Skep and Bad have like a little argument over Bad refusing to see skeppy as frequently as he promised to which Bad is like "are u rlly worried about that right now look around you" ermmm a little beef there but they figure it out dw

- hmmm idea what if everyone realizes that the code entity is not an admin, and is a real thing tryuing to kill them maybe (?) omg maybe - Skeppy gets to meet all teh babies!!! Dadbaccio Au chapter 4!!!!

aaaaaaaaaaa finally!! It's here!!

word count: 1,251

implied child abuse, abandonment, and SA(You dont have to take it that way if you dont want tho. It was just kinda intended to be that way)

Wooo Angst timee. Its actually not nearly as angsty as I originally planned. Haruno gets upset and tries not to let herself get attached to Leone when she knows he's going to hurt her eventually. Leone assures her that that will never happen.

That dinner was nice..too nice. That man, Leone, definitely wanted something from her. There’s no other reason he’d do all this nice stuff for her. Haruno wasn’t stupid. She used to be, and she’d been in this situation before, she didn’t know why she’d let herself get into it again. Leone had just seemed so…nice and friendly…and also he didn’t give her much of a choice..but she could have run if she wanted! She just..she really didn’t know how she felt.

The man seemed so serious about this taking her in thing, letting her eat as much food as she wanted, laying out blankets for her on his couch, even talking about preparing a room for her..the way he so sincerely spoke of the idea, how he seemed genuinely interested in what she had to say about ladybugs, and all the little ways throughout the night he tried to make her more comfortable made her want to believe he was being serious, but that could never happen. No one could want to care for someone like her without wanting something in return, not even her own parents wanted her.

Haruno lays down on the slightly fuzzy grey blanket laying on top of the hard leather couch and pulls another blanket, this one a dark brown and a bit softer than the other over herself. It was surprisingly comfortable, though, maybe she just thinks that because of the significantly more uncomfortable places she’s slept before. She closes her eyes, letting her mind wander back to her fantasies.  As she feels the comforting fuzz of sleep envelop her mind she thinks of beautiful futures where mr. Leone decided to keep her. In her fantasies he’d treat her well. Everyday would be like today was, and she’d actually have a room of her own, one with a proper bed, and maybe some decorations too. They’d eat together every morning and then he’d walk her to school and the other kids there would stop being mean to her. She’d come home and they'd eat dinner together and maybe they’d talk a bit. Every night she’d fall asleep in a nice real bed comforted by the idea of a..papa who loves her..

Her thoughts put a smile to her face and she soon slips into the hands of sleep.

Haruno wakes up to the sweet smell of breakfast being made in the kitchen. Out of the corner of her eye she can see mr. Leone standing by the stove. She sits up on the couch, pushing her blanket off of her and rubbing the remaining sleep from her eyes. 

“Mr. Leone…” she grumbles, her voice still raspy and sleep-ridden. 

“Ah, good morning Haruno. Did you sleep well?” He looks over into the living room from the kitchen.

Haruno mumbles a soft noise of some form of ‘yes’ that really just sounded like an ‘m’ sound. Leone, in the kitchen lets a soft and short laugh pass his lips before speaking, “Breakfast is almost ready. I found some old clothes of mine that shouldn't be too big on you. If they are, we'll tie them back with a hair tie until we can get you some new ones. They’re laying on the bathroom counter. Go get yourself washed up a bit before breakfast, kay?” 

It takes her a moment to process everything said, but once she does she nods her head and starts walking towards where she was told the bathroom was last night. The bathroom was the only room on the hall that’s door was open, so she found it rather easily. As she enters she flicks on the light switch and shuts the door behind her. Just as Mr. Leone had told there were some clothes and hair ties sitting on the counter. 

Haruno stands up on her tiptoes so she can see herself in the mirror as she washes her face. Afterwards she gently dries it with the hand towel hanging on the wall and replaces her current clothes with the ones Mr. Leone had found for her. As expected the clothes were too big, the shorts going down past her knees and the shirt barely fitting at all. She uses the hair ties on the counter to tie the two back. 

Once she finishes in the bathroom she makes her way back towards the kitchen where Abbacchio had finished preparing breakfast. 

As she enters the room she sees Leone sitting at the table already, staring off into space. He shoots back to attention once he notices that Haruno has entered the room. “Are you hungry Haruno?” the man asks as he stands up and walks over to the counter where Haruno can see an already prepared plate. He proceeds to place the plate down in front of the spot where Haruno had sat the previous night and motioned for her to sit down. Haruno did exactly that, taking a seat in front of the plate that she could now see held two pancakes that had been cut into triangles. 

“You can go ahead and eat if you’d like. I’m going to go and.. Check on something.” at that mr. Leone left the room. 

Haruno just sits and stares at her plate. Now fully awake, the pit in her stomach that was growing last night returns. The food looked wonderful, and Mr. Leone has been so nice all morning, but this wouldn't last and she knew it. He was going to do something. Something bad, she's sure. He had probably left the room to go and check on whatever that thing was. It isn't the first time she’s been in this situation, one of her parents deeming her unworthy of staying in their house that night, or longer if she had done something really bad, and ending up being let to stay the night with some kind stranger. Though, almost every time this has happened the stranger hadn't turned out to be so kind as she had first thought. This would certainly be the same. 

No matter how nice he seems, he just wanted something from her. 

Oh, you haven't eaten yet?” Haruno’s pulled from her thoughts by mr.Leone entering the room. “Is something wrong with the food? It doesn’t taste bad does it, I swear I actually tried.” he laughs a bit as he approaches Haruno. 

Haruno slides off of her chair and looks up at the man. “I don’t have anything for you.” She starts, “If you’re going to do something, please, hurry up so I can leave.” 

Leone looks taken aback by the claim, “What? Harun-”

“Please.” There are tears threatening to spill from Haruno’s eyes, glossing her eyes over. Her voice shakes and so does her body as she maintains eye contact and mutters “Stop..trying to pretend to be nice to me. Please. Stop. Just.. Just do whatever it is that you want already…before I start liking you..” her voice grows quiet towards the end.

Leone takes the girl into his arms, hugging her gently and shushing her cries. “Haru… No. That’s not going to happen. I’m not going to..do anything to you.” He speaks softly, closing his eyes and pulling her closer.

“But..”

“No. No buts. I’m not going to hurt you. Or anything else. I don’t know what things have been like for you in the past, but now that I’m here nothing, and no one is going to hurt you anymore. I promise.”

Haruno doesn't respond. Just pushes her head closer into Leone’s shoulder and smiles.

fossey's relationship with nature is a little complicated; as a kid they were always rather outdoorsy, but as xe started developing symptoms of depression and becoming more withdrawn they just sort of. stopped, even though they never stopped liking being outside the drive to actually Do it just kinda vanished. BUT after moving to teufort + getting to know everyone a bit better, she picked up birding! it started as just rekindling a childhood interest in birds but then he started looking into field guides and asking about local species and well. it was over

🙈- whats a side of your oc that they don’t want to show other people?

it feels like such a cliché answer but i think theyre really most hesitant to showcase their vulnerability wrt their upbringing and its effects on them. not necessarily because it believes its suffering to be too dark/upsetting to discuss-- rather, i think being around a bunch of grizzled mercenaries with these horrifying stories of war and personal grief has caused it to kind of be like. Oh well if they hear how badly that affected me theyll think im some kind of candyass. [and that's why if i joke about that time my brother choked me with a belt they wont think im still fucked up about it #strats #NeverLetThemKnowYourNextMove] being a rather nonviolent person in an already fairly violent teufort [even if that violence isnt directed At him] has caused him to want to do everything in his power to seem as invulnerable as he can, just for fear of that vulnerability causing others to lose respect for him [something he already believes others have so little of]

in a similar vein i think fossey also really dislikes being angry around other people because shes used to her anger not being taken very seriously, and being the youngest in her cohort i think she tries to keep herself tempered because she doesnt want to be viewed as childlike or immature for expressing anger [even when anger would be a rather reasonable response].

🌟- what do they think about when they look at the night sky? is there someone they want to star gaze with?

teufort is one of the most polluted places in the country according to TF2 lore, but fossey was raised in the hudson valley in the 50s and 60s, so to her its really about the same. ne does sometimes lament the poor quality of the night sky in both areas, but LUCKILY there happens to be a dark site not far from teufort and a certain someone who is more than happy to bring nem there 🙈

💔- what could their partner do that would absolutely break their heart?

ive thought about this a bit and honestly, i feel like fossey would actually react to heartbreak/the end of a relationship with a pretty even temper? like it would hurt, obviously, but i dont think they'd be super duper distraught by it because they'd rather the relationship end than carry on without love. to that point, though, in a relationship that he assumes to be going fine, i think finding out that his partner is casting doubt on or belittling his past experiences would be a massive dealbreaker, not to mention put him in a pretty rough place. being that their family doing the same thing was the main reason for them leaving new york in the first place, i think having a partner Repeat that pattern would just. it would be disastrous

"Murder Wives" is awesome because it just makes me picture them and Murder Husbands being besties and getting together like once a week to have dinner and chat and gossip abt murdery things. As for them killing- I actually haven't finished season 3 yet so i dont know how accurate i can be about this!! but I like to think they're a bit smarter and less literally batshit insane than hannibal and will, PLUS they have a baby. They might dabble in a little bit of killing, just to see if its something that fits for them, but i think they'd eventually settle down with their kid. They'd definetly do a bit of killing if they felt a need to (or call in a favor, yk, if hannigram lived and kept in contact... 😭), but i also think they're a bit more... mature(?) about it? They could handle a lot of things without killing and potentially complicating everything and they know it. Plus, I'm sure Margot would want to be a better influence and role model for her kid than her father and brother were to her, which probably means making sure they don't have to come into contact with that sort of stuff, which im sure Alana would back up especially as a psychiatrist. Although theres the possibility Margot could get a bit overbearing, especially because of all the "being an heir" stuff, but I'm sure Alana would balance that out too. Thats not to say they wouldn't teach them how to hold their own once their old enough, and they'd DEFINETLY be backup if the kid ever does get wrapped up in anything murdery. So all in all, sure, perhaps some killing, but no... hunting. LMK what you think about this if you want- since yeah i haven't watched a lot of season 3 yet so!!!!!! just going off what i have watched and what i've heard about it :)

I love your champion Petra art so much so I have a fun question: How do you see Romeo convincing Petra (or Jack) to be his champion during their training? Because they were both VERY reluctant to go and I think Romeo would be smart enough to realize that “hmm a willing champion is a better champion so I need to convince them that this is a good thing.” I’m very curious to hear your thoughts. :] Would he offer them something, prey on insecurities, etc?

thank you for asking this... in my universe, petra is champion, so i will focus on her. but i will give my idea for what it was like for jack too.

for petra, romeo would prey on insecurities. petra was the first one to know romeo's name because he said "we're friends now, call me romeo". now when he brought her to the terminal space, he tried to talk with her. though she tried to attack him multiple times he kept trying to convince her... talking about how alike they are, how he had friends once who abandoned him for "their people" just like jesse was abandoning her for beacontown. he tried to make a point about how people in her life just leave her behind but him and petra can be friends forever, and he throws petra into one of her memories as a kid to relive it. petra tries to convince herself he's just messing with her and romeo offers to show her what her friends say about her when she's not around. romeo shows axel and olivia talking about how needy petra is, jesse telling lukas that they feel trapped with her, that theyre afraid to leave her because she's angry and aggressive. jesse telling jack that they'd be more than happy if she left town with him.

and none of this stuff is anything her friends have actually said- romeo again is just making shit up. but petra doesn't know this, she genuinely thinks because romeo is all powerful that he was able to see their conversations and that this is the truth, this is honestly how her friends see her. at this point shes broken over this but not enough to want to be his champion, so romeo is like how do you not get it, your friends dont want you nobody does but me, and he opens a battlefield and turns into jesse and starts talking a bunch of shit and fights her, she knows THIS is just romeo and not the real jesse but it still hurts to hear his words knowing the real jesse honestly thinks this way.

romeo stops the fight because he senses a disturbance in the sunshine institute, so he teleports over and petras by herself. and when he teleports her to the battlefield, shes crying. jesse immediately tries to run over to her to check if she's okay and she thinks he's romeo trying to jump her again so she gets scared and swings at him lol. so thats the background behind that picture. when she realizes its the real jesse, she feels terrible and tries to help him but gets zapped by the gauntlet.

now for jack... if it were him, i think romeo would go with threats. like, if it were jack as soon as romeo shows his face again he'll demand to know what he did with petra. and romeo will be like "oh i just sent her to my inescapable prison" and jack gets pissed off at this and starts going on about how hes not gonna be romeo's champion, how romeo is a monster and he'd rather just be killed than serve him, and romeo's like well okay if that's the attitude you're gonna have then i guess we'll have to try something else. and then shows jack petra and nurm in the sunshine institute, and he's like "if you refuse to become my champion, i will have them killed in front of you" and then jack is like "bullshit" and romeo snaps his fingers and the two of them are zapped a bit and jack is like WOAHHH OKAY OKAY ILL DO IT

now i really prefer the champion petra route because i think its sooo good for the narrative, and in the final battle when romeo tries to make jesse feel guilty about their friendship with petra getting rocky, ITS SO COOL. i love this game and i love making it more dramatic than it already is

chronically ill !!! cane & rollator user. their mobility aids are all decorated & sick as hell . i don't have specific diagnoses laid out but they have chronic joint issues (especially in colder weather) & trouble standing for long periods (fatigue & dizzy spells). maybe something like the classic eds/pots who knows. they also have chronic eczema & i ponder hearing aids for them sometimes....

ziggy views emma as an older sister/cool aunt & she feels weird about it. it's an unfamiliar pressure to be the "adult" sibling. & bc ziggs is around the same age as jane was when emma left (early 20s) it's really disorienting to suddenly feel like you're living fourteen years in the past because there's a 20 year old in your house. even though ziggy and jane could not be more different

despite being The Dealer they're an awful tripsitter LOL they just like fucking with people a bit too much (they do this to emma often & she does it back they make each other sooo paranoid for laughs)

there's two main types (below) & while the differences are pretty exaggerated a lot of the time for many people they do feel different. & i think emma & ziggs are on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of preferences... ziggs favors sativa for the energy & creativity. emma smokes something called "concrete shoes" & spends three hours unable to get off her couch. fun looks different for everyone

wow i love beautiful convenient infographics. anyways. in my irl experience, older people tend to favor joints and pipes while younger people are more into bongs... i'm not really sure why this is but it does track here. emma usually rolls & smokes joints while ziggs uses a bong when they smoke alone most of the time. i think they'd have pretty shaky hands & struggle to roll. and it's is also just less harsh than other smoking methods (with a bong you have water that the smoke goes through, which cools it off so it is smoother & less harsh on your throat & lungs) which they like bc. illness

neither of them vape they are both purists abt smoking Real Weed. and vaping kind of sucks anyways it can be a very boring high... when you smoke flower it's a little bit different every time and feels more 'awake' whereas vaping its like very samey every time and gets stale. i dont really know what i could compare this to.... like listening to a whole album vs just one song. its just a more full experience and you don't tire of it as quickly.

and of course not pictured here but edibles my best friend edibles..... from what i've seen a lot of younger people use edibles as their primary or sole method of getting high, because they are convenient to store, don't smell, and you don't have to smoke them. they do offer a slightly different high; it's still very distinctly weed but it is certainly more body-heavy & it's more potent because of how it's metabolized. some people also get a 'hangover' where they'll feel groggy or unfocused the day or days after using edibles. because it is a different sort of feeling i always recommend that people try out smoking as well.... imo it's a better first time, because an edible takes ~1-2 hours to kick in & the body of the high can be 3+ hours especially at higher doses. there is no easy way to tap out if you're having a bad time. smoking hits within a few minutes & it wears off faster Generally (ymmv by dosage. of course)

emma uses edibles pretty rarely. you would think she'd like them for the body high & couch-locking but she just doesn't love the feeling... i think she would only do them if she wanted to get Really fucked up, as an event. not a casual user. but maybe she's into making and selling them... charlotte/emma baked good edibles venture & they fall in love. can anyone hear me. anyways. ziggs uses them much more often especially for managing pain flares. emma is in awe of how coherent they can be walking around on like 500mg (for ref. most people i know take 10-20mg recreationally. personal top dose for me has been 40mg + smoking)

uhm. what else. OH greening out. so you can't 'overdose' on weed it doesn't really work like that but you can definitely take too much. i have never done this (#responsible) but it's generally described like a really nauseous panic attack. i've been close to it and it's a very. looming dread sort of ordeal. most people will throw up & get dizzy. anxiety/paranoia is common. ziggy is pretty good abt avoiding this and has only done it once or twice. emma repeatedly does this to herself especially in her early 20s and every single time shes like wow that was shit im never smoking again (lying)

Huge fan of your writing here. I was wondering if you had any ideas for a sequel to your ‘A Question of Precedence’ AU. No need to answer if you dont feel like just my imagination running wild lol but i was curious about how Feanor meeting Fingolfin, Finarfin, Lalwen and their wives and kids would go down. I imagine it would be strange to meet you brother who died as an infant (something which caused your father a lot of trauma and grief) as an adult with a wife and kid. What was their opinion on Feanor before Finwe was slain and Feanor reborn. Did they ever feel like their father loved them less?Would Feanor + siblings get along better in this AU or just about the same ? What was it like for Finwe to die and meet his son and ex wife only for them to leave to live with Vaire ? What was it like for Findis to raise her famously chaotic brother? Are they close? What’s it like for Indis to lose her husband and have his dead child brought back in his stead and then have said child raised to be king a title which previously belonged to her children. What would the relationship be between the sons of Feanor and their cousins ? how is Feanor viewed by those that stayed in Valinor and those that left especially after he chose to aid his kin in Beleriand.

(For those who also don't remember, this was my AU in which Feanor died as an infant when Miriel did. All of his half-siblings except Findis still end up going to fight in Beleriand; Findis stays and ends up raising him when Feanor is released from the Halls. Feanor, for his part, ends up leading the reinforcements to Middle Earth.)

I think meeting Feanor is definitely strange for the siblings that went to Middle Earth, especially because of the circumstances. They are used to thinking of him as a Tragedy™, not a full grown force of nature riding to the rescue.

I do think they'd get along better in this AU; a Feanor raised reasonably well by Findis is not going to be raised to resent his siblings, and the attachment to his father that he was so afraid of the others usurping is going to look very different here. He also isn't worried about competing with the others for the crown; Findis raises him to know that it's his as soon as he's old enough, and the others aren't there to fight for it.

His relationship to Indis is still complicated, I think; she knows Finwe chose to remain dead in order to give him a chance to return, and part of her does resent that, but on the other hand, she's ashamed of resenting a baby for anything, especially that. The issues between her and Findis regarding Indis's perceived abandonment might actually cause as many issues between Feanor and her as the remarriage does.

For a long time, Feanor's sons have no relationship with their cousins, for obvious reasons. This changes with Fingon's resurrection; they are very, very eager to get to know him, and he is very, very eager to encourage them to go fight in Beleriand . . . though he feels a bit guilty about that. Whatever their actual ages, he can't help thinking they're too young to be dragged into this.

Once they get to Beleriand, their surviving cousins have an interesting mix of "Reinforcements! I love you!" and . . . possibly some resentment? Because they've been fighting this war all this time, and here their younger cousins come sweeping in, all shining and golden from Valinor to win the day without the centuries of hopeless warfare. Once they get to know them, some of those relationships improve.

In general, the Noldor in Beleriand see Feanor as a hero and a particularly shining symbol of hope - if even Finwe's long lost son has returned, surely all darkness can be overcome! The ones in Valinor see him as less of a symbol, but he is still their respected king (though there might have been some dissent about showing up as reinforcements.)

Hermes parenting talk - this happens in Sea of Monsters but its nice to at least see a contrast of how he's gonna feel pre-betrayal vs post-betrayal.

What I'm taking from this:

There were A LOT of changes to how this scene played out in the books. I like that the kids are smart. I like that Grover got to tell Percy about his personal quest even if it was just a glimpse of it.

Should there have been a Zebra? MAYBE. I wouldve loved to see Percy talk to em but its not exactly plot relevant. Do I wish they had gotten trapped by just playing games? Yeah, but then how would they get to talk to Hermes. They would've just forgotten why they were there in the first place. Do I wish there was more action? No, not really. Do I wish the kids had flaws? THEY ALREADY DO. Grover got trapped by his own desires and personal goal over the quest he was on. Percy and Annabeth may not have shown their flaws this episode but... They already had in the past episodes. Maybe they shouldve but Im not mad that they're just... There.

I actually love that they're past the deadline and Percy has 4 pearls. Cuz it makes us wonder what would happen next. I think as book fans, we pride ourselves of knowing what happens next. Immune to any surprise. But when we do, there are 2 reactions: 1) intrigue and worry and unfortunately common, 2) despising the changes. I fall under number 1. I like that I dont know what could happen next. I know how it SHOULD go but I like that Rick is still surprising us despite knowing what could happen.

I like that we get Hermes parenting moments in this episode. Because instead of learning a sliver of why Luke betrays Percy at the end of the season at the last episode, we get a bit of exposition into his early life.

Annabeth says not to talk to Luke about his dad

Something happened to his mom and Luke hates Hermes for it

Hermes is keeping his distance because he knows that whatever he does, he's gonna end up hurting Luke

All of this sets up what will happen not just later in the books, but LATER IN THE SERIES. Rick wrote The Lightning Thief without any concrete idea of how the later books will play out. NOW HE DOES. So it makes sense to give us a way to understand Luke. To know why he makes the final decision in the book.

I would have found it weird if the gang went on the quest, got back to camp, got a sliver of Luke's opinion of the gods, then betrayal. NONE OF US WOULD UNDERSTAND. We get that he hates the gods but we won't know why. Now we do. By giving us all this material to work with, it gives its viewers the opportunity to really think, if you were in his shoes, would you have done it too? Would you be like Ethan or Chris, and joined him in that rebellion? I definitely could.

Because I for one would know that when I first read the books then reread it after, I would never even think about joining him given the context of the first book. We really only understand why he betrays the gods at like... The 5th book. When we finally get his backstory. Throughout the series, it has just been Percy hating Luke and being annoyed that Annabeth was so forgiving of him. Then on the last book, we finally get the backstory. Because, when you write in first person perspective, you cant give backstory IF the narrator is not talking to the character or is at the place where it happens. Throughout the whole series, Percy never thinks about what pushed Luke to make his decisions until, Nico had to bring Percy to where it all started. IN THE LAST BOOK. IN THE 5TH SEASON. THATS WHEN WE FINALLY GET TO UNDERSTAND WHAT MAKES LUKE CLICK.

It brings Luke out of the characterization of being someone who hates the gods and wants to overthrow them cuz they dont care about his kids. To someone who was abandoned and ignored by his father. To someone who is a victim to the gods' rules and their world (his mom). I kinda understand why he is the one leading the war here. Its cuz he's experienced one of the worst things that could happen to a demigod. Losing his mom. Getting ignored by his dad. Undervalued by the gods.

THIS ENTIRE SEASON HAS JUST BEEN SET UP FOR LUKE'S STORY. BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW... THAT IN THE LAST BOOK, RACHEL TELLS PERCY THAT HE IS NOT THE HERO OF THIS STORY. HE IS NOT THE ONE TO STOP THE WAR. LUKE IS THE HERO AT THE END OF THE SERIES. AND IT WOULD'VE BEEN WEIRD IF WE NEVER GET TO UNDERSTAND WHY UNTIL.... THE LAST BOOK.

"six years" was LESS THAN 10 CHAPTERS AGO but if it still holds true then jasmine should NOT be this old. these chapters were published WITHIN THE SAME YEAR. RRAAAAAGHHGHGH

*cough* anyway. livio is such a big sweetie... i never disliked him, but my impression of him has changed. in stampede i didn't really know what to think of him. he didn't have a personality, he was just brainwashed. and his manga self was stoic and cool before. which... didn't seem like it was brainwashing, necessarily? i don't know?? maybe it was just an act he was putting on. he went goober mode as soon as the fight was over. perhaps no longer being beholden to EoM allowed him to embrace his inherent silliness. i liked his cool and stoic self but i LOVE his big silly teddy bear self. he's so... uwah. he makes me smile.

The Great Omegateez AU part 2: Yunho x Mingi

About a month before Hongjoong's due date, Mingi and Yunho decide to go on a private vacation. Hongjoong is determined to take a proper paternity leave after he has the baby (even if he wasnt, Seonghwa would probably force him to take a break for at least a couple of weeks), so Mingi will be on his own to put the final touches on a handful of songs they've been working on for a new idol group. They dont want to risk being gone when the baby arrives, and Yunho wants to make sure Mingi gets a proper rest before taking on such a large taskload, so roughly a month out they pack up and fly off for a tropical holiday back in the Maldives where they'd had their wedding.

It's just as gorgeous as they remember, and without the stress of a wedding they're able to enjoy it fully with no worries on their mind. Even one of Mingi's sporadic mini-heats doesn't detract from their relaxation. They'd honestly planned to spend at least one day doing nothing but fucking and sleeping so the timing is actually perfect, and Yunho is all too happy to bend his mate over the bed and fuck him until he's limp with contentment. That evening as the setting sun beams golden light into their room, Yunho looks down at his husband and feels his heart flip in his chest. His husband nestled into his arms, one of Mingi's legs slung over his hips and Yunhos knot still buried inside, mating bit freshly renewed. Mingi's even purring as he dozes, something he only does at his absolute most relaxed. Yunho doesn't think life could get any better.

The rest of their vacation is perfect, lots of sun and sea and a fair bit of sex, and part of Yunho doesn't want to leave, but he knows a different kind of adventure is waiting at home with the impending arrival of their new pack member.

Now, two weeks after returning home, that perfect peaceful state seems like a lifetime ago when he finds Mingi in the bathroom one morning, hands braced against the counter, staring down at a bit of plastic and reeking of distress.

"Princess? Whats wrong?"

Mingi doesnt answer other than to pull Yunho closer and wrap himself in his strong arms.

"I keep dreaming about baby ducks, which is stupid and shouldn't mean anything, but with Hongjoong and Wooyoung talking baby stuff all the time, I just couldn't shake the feeling that I had to check." Mingi mutters finally.

Yunho leans over a bit to look down at the piece of plastic. A pregnancy test. A positive one. Immediately Yunho's stomach twists with a rush of conflicting emotions. Does he want kids? Yes, absolutely. But does he want them now? Truthfully, he's been ready for years, even before they got married. As long as he was with Mingi anytime was fine. But is Mingi ready? Yunho knows Mingi has a complicated relationship with his secondgender. It had taken him a long time to get to a place where he felt like he was in control of his body, not his omega instincts, and that battle had played a large part in his worsening anxiety when they were younger. He's been on the strongest suppressants he can get for years. Yunho doesn't remember that last time he had a regular full heat instead of the sporadic day-long micro-heats he has once or twice a year. On top of that he's been on birth control for practically forever. If Mingi had wanted to get pregnant he would have needed to stop those medications, and Yunho knows that he hasn't. This...this clearly wasn't Mingis choice, and that's the part that upsets Yunho. But he can't deny that he wants a baby with Mingi. If he's already pregnant they might as well.... no. He feels a little sick at the train of thought. It's Mingi's body, Mingi needs to make whatever decision is best for his own health without Yunho pressuring him.

When Yunho asks what he wants to do Mingi shrugs. It's a big shock, and there's a lot to think about. Yunho promises that whatever Mingi decides, he'll support, and he spends the rest of his morning making sure his husband is settled and doesn't start to spiral into a panic.

They don't really talk about it after that. Yunho throws himself into his pro-gaming to keep his mind busy while Mingi buries himself in new projects in the studio. Yunho spends more time focusing on keeping his scent in check than he has since their idol days, trying hard not to blast the apartment with the scent of excitement. He can smell the way Mingi's emotions are running wild since the test and he doesn't want to pressure him, even indirectly, and he's doing his best to be a strong grounding presence through his husband's turmoil.

This turns out to be the wrong move.

Another week goes by before things come to a head. Mingi comes home just a few hours after leaving for the studio in a whirlwind of slammed doors and stomping feet. It's completely unlike him and Yunho pulls his headphones off in alarm. The smell of absolute anguish wafts through the air, brackish and sour on the back of Yunho's tongue. He hears the shower sputter to life and tries the bathroom door, but it's locked. Whatever happened is hitting Mingi hard. There's nothing to do but wait, and Yunho paces the hallway anxiously. Finally the shower cuts off. Between the sounds of Mingi shuffling around and drying off Yunho can hear choked-off sobs and quiet sniffles, and his heart breaks. The lock clicks and the door opens and Mingi jumps a little, not expecting his husband to be right there in the doorway. Yunho gives him the puppydog eyes reserved only for him, and Mingi melts into his arms with a fresh wave of tears.

"Mingi, baby, whats wrong?" Yunho rubs a hand soothingly down his back. "Whats got you so rattled, princess?"

Mingi mumbles something into his neck that he can't make out, and Yunho hums questioningly, nuzzling the side of his mate's head.

"Why don't you want to have a baby with me?" Mingi repeats.

Oh.

Oh god.

The heartache he felt hearing Mingi cry is nothing compared to the pain Yunho feels as it sinks in just how badly he's fucked this up.

"I do. God, I promise I do Mingi. You have no idea how much I want kids with you."

"Then why aren't you happy? Ever since that test you've barely touched me, you hide your scent from me, and when you don't you smell so upset it makes me sick." Mingi shudders in between his crying. "It's like you don't even want me anymore."

That has Yunho breaking into tears right along with his mate.

"Oh, Mingi. My precious Mingi. I've always wanted you. I've always wanted kids with you. Nothing could make me stop wanting you. I've been ready for years but I wanted it to be your decision. I know how important it is for you to be in control of your body and I didn't want you to feel like you had to go through with it just to make me happy. I want this baby so fucking bad it hurts." He squeezes Mingi tight, trying to squeeze every last doubt from his body.

"Really?"

"I promise. The ONLY thing I would change right now, is I would want us to be having a baby on purpose, because you wanted it, not as a birth control fluke. Having a family with you is all I've wanted since the day we met."

A tearful giggle shakes Mingi's shoulders.

"Since the day we met, huh? You had a crush on me in high school? What a loser."

"Yeah," Yunho laughs wetly, "I had a big fat loser crush on you. Doodled our names together in my notebook and everything. And now we're married so HA! I win."

They take a few moments to gather themselves before Yunho pulls Mingi back to their bedroom for a nap, insisting that they needed to restart the day after a short rest. They have longer conversation while they doze, and Mingi admits the last straw was him getting into a fight with Hongjoong at the studio. He's been feeling unsettled in his body since finding out he's pregnant, and that plus the stress of their communication mishap had left him in a sour mood, which clashed badly with Hongjoong's bad mood as he became increasingly uncomfortable being so close to his due date. It's entirely understandable, but Mingi still feels bad, and he'll be sure to make up with his friend soon enough. Right now though, he's wrapped in his husband's strong arms and surrounded by Yunho's scent, almost too sweet now that he's stopped hiding how happy he is about the baby, and Mingi has to admit that a short nap and restart to the day sounds like the best idea he's heard in a while.

An hour or so later Yunho wakes to the feeling of Mingi nuzzling against his mating bite and placing wet kisses all down his throat.

"Mmm, somebody's frisky. Feel beter?"

Mingi hums in agreement.

"I have a plan."

"Yeah? What's that?"

"You're gonna fuck me right here, right now, and we're going to pretend this was on purpose."

Yunho is suddenly much more awake and he rolls them over to prop himself up over his husband. Mingi's already pantsless and half hard and he wraps his long legs around his husband's waist. "Come on, Yuyu. Lets make a baby."

My copic crate came in. My plan was to open it for christmas because I wanted the surprise of it. Little kid me would have been happy with it. I think it was fine.

otherwise, I'm procrastinating putting my Christmas stuff away. One of my decorations already fell off the wall so might as well. This time of the year is my least favorite. Winter post christmas is so drab and depressing. My husband does turn 40 in January and I feel weird saying I'm old enough to be married to a 40 year old, but here we are. My little sister just turned 30 also and thats even stranger.

The tree in my backyard finally lost all of its leaves and I dont feel like raking it all up. I'm overdue for some laundry and dishes too.

I had to take my dog back to the vet for a follow up appointment. She finished antibiotics for a UTI right before christmas and her urine was super bloody today at the doctors. It wasn't bloody the last time. They said they'd do another urinalysis and if it comes back bad we'll do a culture...I was like "just please send the culture off now". So no abx until that comes back. On the bright side this is the nicest (as in they're friendly) vet office I've been to here. However, his place is friggen expensive for them not being able to do an onsite UA and for that I miss my old vet in Georgia. I did treat Edie with a pupcup afterwards. I then had to run to the post office and send some more stuff out to my husband overseas.

He sounded like he actually had a decent Christmas himself. He did a 3 day trip to rome with a buddy and they said it was awesome. So that was really nice and a relief.

My workplace is a bit a shitshow. I spent all week training a new girl and my other girls got their ACLS so now they can do conscious sedation so I had to train them on that too. Since I'm the only person who can train people, I'm there everyday all day and I'm..tired. Theres another new girl starting on tuesday and I guess I'll train her too. I just really want some free time to go back to the gym.

I also have to pay over $1000 for our insurances renewing and now I'm looking at tax season and wondering where I put my POA so I can even file taxes and has that POA even expired yet..?

2024 is going to be wild I think. My husband is starting the retirement process when he gets back here in another 4-5 months. We'll probably be looking at moving again at the end of the year. We're going to be stressed out figuring out what to do with ourselves. Also its the lion kings 30th anniversary so I guess I'll just continue working so I can pay for merch I dont need.

i think shintaro listens to a lot of vocaloid and anime ops lol but i think he'd listen to pretty much anything?? since he's a musician he's interested in listening to all kinds of music, and he's into discovering smaller artists too. he probably prefers stuff more on the chill side. i think shintaro keeps gifting momo earbuds in a passive aggressive way but momo keeps BLASTING her music. so shintaro ends up memorizing a bunch of her music and bursts into song with momo a lot. do not take this from me. like once he realises that he's scream singing britney spears toxic with momo he stops but He does it. i know so.

i dont have strong opinions on seto, mary, kano and hibiya?? i think hibiya doesnt even listen to the radio cuz his ass didnt know who the hell momo was LMAOOOO if u have any ideas for seto mary and kano let me know... i feel like no one would know kano's music taste bc at least personally i always feel so vulnerable abt my music taste. ppl are so mean about it and what u listen to. i think kano would completely hide it and lie abt what he actually likes listening to.

HARUKA AND AYANO i think share music taste. im also not sure what they'd listen to though i just know they share their fashion sense and music taste. i know so. they probably listen to taylor swift or something. lofi hip hop beats to study to bitches.

takane obviously loves music. headphone bitch. shes canonically into rock, haruka's first description of takane is the best ever he says something like. she has a mischievous smile, dark circle under her eyes and her headphones around her neck had rock music playing he could hear from his seat. also haruka mentions takane went to see a rock concert that was held at their school before they attended. so she's also into concerts. sorry i love takane she's so cool hehe.. i think takane's rly into punk/garage/alt rock kinda stuff. i think she listens to stuff like mike krol, slutever, be your own pet.. the louder the better. the more the singer screams the better.
