God little kids are the funniest people ever. I was working in the theatre and half-babysitting my theatre professor's kid at the same time and this is how our conversation went:

Kid: Why is your hair short? Me: I shaved it!

Kid: You shaved your head? That's why it's short? Me: Yep!

I just remembered I had an insane dream last night that involved engie x medic

It was in the middle of the night and mom yells at me to come out to the front yard to show me something and when I'm out she's crying tears of joy because medic was showing her that he and engie had a baby, now I do not know how they had that baby but they did and for some reason medic and my mom were friends or something that's why he came over to show her his child and let me tell you that child was BIG like HUGE sized and medic was holding it in his arms like it was nothing and I was just... sorta confused tbh

As medic gets ready to leave my mom says something like "oh we really need to hang out sometime to catch up with stuff!" to which medic agrees and then my mom asks if she can bring me along to which he says no 😭

This marks the second dream where medic is mean to me I'm starting to think he just doesn't like me,

It's only upon writing this that I realize it's been forever that I've wip wednesdayed ;; but I was thinking about how I wanted to get back into it, so here's some snippets from jmart week prompts I've been working on:

1. (time travel)

Martin shook the worm carcass off into the pile with his siblings as he had waited for a further explanation. And when none had come, when they’d fallen back into that suffocating silence, he’d said, “And?” “...And?”  “What, that’s it? Just ‘the Archivist’?” The Archivist hadn't seemed to expect this response. His face contorted, mouth curling into a tight knot and brows sliding into the single little wrinkle between them, and Martin’s traitorous mind had thought oh, he's cute. Just a single, gratuitous thought. Just a brainless, stupid, ridiculous thought that took him a minute of staring to realize that he'd even thought it at all — after which, he'd kicked himself over, because jesus Martin, you just met the guy, what are you thinking? The Archivist has spoken up a moment later, giving Martin’s rogue thoughts just enough time to soar out of coherence completely. “Um,” he said, mouth still pinched in that sweet little frown. ���Well. Yes...?” “But it’s just a title.” “Says the one from a species full of hunters and smiths.”

2. (victorian)

Another thing — Martin’s used to things with teeth and claws and eyes that look a little too human for comfort. He’s used to beasts that will tear his throat out at the first opportunity, at animals that only know hunger and full. “If it’s not human, it’s animal,” Martin can practically hear Dr. Robinson saying, “and if it’s animal, it’s meat or it sees us as meat.” He’s smart enough to learn, most of the time, it’s the latter. His foot hits the wet floor of the cellar with a resounding, muddy slap. The lamp barely stretches beyond an arm’s length, he finds, so Martin raises it higher above his head.  There’s not much in the cellar by London elite standards. Some crates of god-knows-what, a modest collection of wine shelving, a bucket that seems to have once been catching a leak but has long since bowed and overflowed under the water’s girth, and— Something crouches in the corner, wincing as the light falls over it.
