No Saviors Dynamics  ♡ Free

Shani: This is the human that brought hell upon their pack, potentially, when they first met her, but they find that not only did she not know about any of that, but she is one of very few humans who actually care about what happens to them.

Atlas: Free has been at Shani’s side for longer than Atlas has, so they tend to get territorial about it, especially whenever they know that Atlas isn’t fully being honest with himself or with Shani. Whether its due to shame or trying to protect her, Free distrusts him and doesn’t take anything he says at face value, so they remain close to Shani, just in case. (Free is a better fighter and stronger wolf than Atlas because of their advanced transformation styles) and while they maintain civility, Free would murder him instantly if he tried something, and they both are constantly aware of that fact.

Bane: This is the first friend that Free has ever made outside of their pack. They butt heads constantly and frequently bicker (he’ll say banter), and she gave him the name "Bane," but if anything happened to the other, both would fully wolf out about it. Others can't tell whether they are friends, colleages, or something more. Free considers them two halves of an alpha, though they will always tell him that they alone are THE Alpha.

Riggs: Lifelong best friend that they can no longer pretend to know, but will always love. Free feels guilty that they were spared while Riggs and their surviving friends were brought to The Kennel, and sometimes even blames themself for not rescuing him sooner, and for how hardened and traumatized he is when they are reunited.

Luna: They do not like her. They’re wary of her as a human and definitely as a human that Riggs cares about. They know that she’s good at her job and that Shani vouches for her, but she’s rich, so that itself tells them that she’s evil and even in doing the work that she's done, she is never in the field and can easily deny everything if it came down to it. Free doesn’t like that Luna offers up nothing to lose while the rest of them have already lost everything. And, they don’t think that she’s good enough to enjoy Riggs company and is especially wrought that she seems to be the only person capable of making him seem like his old happy self. They’re not necessarily jealous, but they do resent that Luna seems to have it all and still managed to “take” the one remaining thing that Free had. Riggs. Free sees Luna as a human that took their best friend after they got him back.

we don't talk about it enough but duck and billy's relationship in amnesty is truly a tragic one.

imagine: you rescue a mindless drone. you save his life, you give him autonomy, you give him language. you teach him trust. you protect him at your own expense. you name him billy. he knows three words in your language, and one is your name. you promise to keep him safe, and he betrays his programming to help you in return. he defies everything he was designed to do in order to aid you.

you save him from being a drone, but in doing so, you kill him. he was never supposed to be here this long. you gave him freedom at the cost of rapid decay, and now he's dying. and if he could just go back to his home planet, he would live, but he doesn't want to. because you're here. duck newton, his first friend, his savior, his guardian. you showed him that there is a better way to live - with free will, with pizza and playstations.

he's damned if he stays and damned if he goes. but you can't watch him suffer. that's not who you are. you're duck newton, local beefcake, defender of the disadvantaged. so you wait until he's engrossed in his video game - in humanity, in freedom of choice - and you strike him down out of mercy.

billy reverts to his original form: a four-armed being of light, once a drone, now a friend. he's beginning to disintegrate, but he has unfinished business here. he never finished his video game. and you give him one last gift of mercy: you lie to him. don't worry, you tell him - that character you're worried about? she's fine in the end. no, i know it seems bleak now, but she turns out okay.

you can't give him anything else, so you give him hope. it's the same thing he gave to you, all those months ago when you saved him.

No Saviors Dynamics  ♡ Bane "The Wolf"

Free: Love of his life. Not really, but he loves them deeply. They teach each other to be better wolves by showing each other a different way to be a wolf than the way that they knew their entire lives. He has had to take in many wolves, but he recognizes Free as the most important one. There's no wolf that he holds in higher regard, and if Free ever butt heads with someone else on a serious note, he has Free's back.

Shani: She doesn't pay him much attention, but he really likes her. She makes him think of a better humanity. Growing up in the Wastelands, he didn't know too many people outside of his own who were good people. Fighting and scraping made people less kind. But, Shani has always been kind to him, and he's never had to make her feel safe, because she never had any discomfort with him. She doesn't know that he feels that way, but it is one of the reasons that he respects her leadership, despite being used to being the one in charge before he met her. (He also thinks that she would fuck a werewolf, so she intrigues him in that way, as well).

Atlas: He doesn't trust him and is far more cautious when he's around. Bane is the most trusted wolf on the grounds, both by the wolves he brought in with him and by the wolves that have been rescued from kennels by Savior... None of the wolves that have had to cross paths with Packmaster have had anything positive to say, prior to his turning sides to be on their side. Most of them are terrified of him, and that makes Bane leery of him, even though he realizes that being in The Kennel changes the mindset of a wolf.

Riggs: He has heard so many tales about Riggs that he has created a version of him in his mind and interacts with that wolf, instead of the one that he knows. Eventually, he'll maybe get used to him, but for now, he thinks of Riggs as a bubbly wolf with gullible questions and an adorable aloofness about most things that everybody else cares about. But, if Riggs was ever just truly having a bad day, Bane would likely be the first wolf to reach out to try to comfort him, as is Bane's nature as a pack master of his own.

There's never a dull moment in the ACOTAR fandom fr 💀. I've been in the fandom for like.. a measly 4 months (4 MONTHS!!) and the only thing I can do whenever new drama comes to light is laugh, I swear lmao 😂.

The most recent drama, Elain week. Oof...

Let's assume that Elain week would result in 300 fan works, whether they were fanarts or fanfics. I bet that not even 2% of those works (≈ 6 works) would be about Tamlin/Elain. The probability of 0 (zero) of them being about Beron/Elain would be 99.99999%. But look at what resulted from this "rule" that people wanted to implement in the name of "anti-abuse". The attention that you didn't wish to be given to Tamlin or Beron, ended up being given IN TRIPLE, will (most likely) be given during the week in question IN TRIPLE and it also generated the creation of new crackships such as Elain/Koschei. KOSCHEI!! Literally a death god and the biggest villain of the series at the moment.

This whole situation is crazy, I just have to laugh at it 😅. How do we want this fanbase to have less toxicity if we're always coming up with new reasons to generate anger and discord among us? Hell, let people draw what they want to draw, let people write what they want to write. You don't agree with what you might see or read during certain character's appreciation week? Go ahead and skip that content. Maybe don't host that event. But let's not pretend that you are creating a safe and inclusive space for ALL Elain lovers with Elain week when the rules of that same event automatically EXCLUDE certain people from it (Elain lovers included).

The time for censorship regarding freedom of expression/speech (because art is a form of expression) has long passed. You are not God to judge what is right and what is wrong. This is fiction! This need to be different and the desire to be morally superior to others does not always go well and I think that has been proven. Let's just try to control the damage now.

Okay StP fandom. I am once again working on my “Slay the Monster” AU, and this one’s going to need some context because I’m giving a second choice when entering the cabin. The Long Quiet is Stillness/Silence/Darkness/Absence, and I want to reflect that by having the basement be pitch black and putting a cabin-appropriate light source on the table, forcing you to make the active choice to bring light into the basement with you. So with that in mind…

(I don’t personally think the order you take the blade & light in should matter, nor do I think it should matter if you decide to go back for one before meeting the Monster, but they are theoretically options so…)

Note that I’m not saying I’ll adhere to this poll, I’m just trying to figure out the exact choices needed for a Voice who treat/views the Monster as more of a pet than anything else.
