Edit: this does not seem to be the case with Impulse actually killing Bdubs even if it seemed like it was GRIAN from his POV and same for Cleo who was actually killed by Pearl

Athens Girl

Snippet

How is it possible to fight exhaustion and sleep all at once? James stares up at his ceiling, haunted by the soft laughs of his son whenever he lets his eyes slide shut.

Healer Evans

I started this as my @jilymicrofics Valentine's Day Gift for @oneofthesirens before "Uncomfortably Numb" flowed out of my fingers.

Premise: James has found all of his fathers previous mentees to be irritating, pompous assholes. That's perhaps why he's so rude to Healer Evans when he first writes to James requesting a rare potions ingredient.

Snippet:

James tunes back in as Sirius snorts “I think this Healer Evans might be your favourite yet.” Sirius' snickers continue as he unpacks his sack and sprawls out on the bed.

"Moony have anything to worry about?" James retorts.

This only serves to send his brother into a louder bark of laughter. "Healer Evans isn't really my type," Sirius finally settles on. His lips twitch. He's still amused. Smug.

James chucks his latest attempt at a letter towards his smirking brother and sinks into his own bout of smugness when it hits Sirius square in the face.

When I was a teenager and still on Neopets I was part of a pretty big Star Trek guild and eventually became part of its council, with the solemn duty of creating weekly polls. Well one day I created the poll "Which would win in a fight? Borg Cube or Death Star?". Naturally, since this was a Star Trek guild, the answer was overwhelmingly "Borg Cube", but someone did have the rationality to point out we were biased.

So I look up a pretty prominent Star Wars guild and message one of their council and ask them to poll the same question and get back to me in a week. They do, and naturally the fuckin geeks said "Death Star".

So then I look up a Stargate guild and messaged the lead council member, saying the same thing, and they get back to me almost immediately saying that the Death Star would immediately one-shot a Borg Cube but they would never be able to do it again to another Cube. And I took that wisdom back to my guild and we were mollified, and for one moment the Nerd World was peaceful.

Sex Ed Time

ok I'm gonna tell you about some things that might happen if you are transitioning m->f. this is not a comprehensive list just my own experience, be sure to do your own research I just really wanted to voice how this affects me because I think open discussion about this type of stuff is just more helpful for everyone rather than keeping it private

BOOBS HURT WHEN THEY GROW

your sex drive (libido) will probably go down a lot

facial hair is very hard to get rid of

my go-to gender affirming clothing is high-waisted jeans. I suggest going to a goodwill or some sort of cheap store that lets you try on clothes to figure out what you like

muscle mass will go down, fat will be redistributed

boobs do all sorts of crazy stuff when you run / exercise

overtime your skin will get softer, you also might smell nicer, and I've been told it can thin body hair but I don't really see it all that much 🤷

your brain chemistry can change when you reduce testosterone and increase estrogen, there are lots of factors that contribute toward any changes to your personality, but hormones can have an impact as well. for me this is a good thing because I struggle with allowing myself to feel emotions sometimes, no matter how hard I tried I was never really able to get myself to cry. I've gotten closer to being able to cry since I started transitioning though and that makes me very happy

this is a slow process that can take several years, ultimately you're going to be in your body for several years regardless, so if this is something you want it's definitely something you should try to pursue if possible. the time will pass anyways, and it does feel nice to work towards something that can make you happier.

also this is very important, you don't need to do any sort of hormone replacement therapy in order to be trans. not everybody can access HRT, and for those who can access it, not everybody wants to take on all the changes that come with treatments. you don't have to chemically or physically change your body in any way in order to deserve respect
