#no-one identifies as a bigot. and if they did... do you think they're a kind enough person to respect your DNI?

Interacted with a blog via one of my side blogs then looked at their DNI and it was several paragraphs like
"If you ship ANYTHING, DNI. If you post NSFW/NSFT in any main tags, DNI. If I think you're problematic in any way DNI"
And they didn't elaborate on the last one
Honey. What does that mean
I'm a big fat loud queer with a history of making NSFW art including stuff some would deem problematic. I don't shy away from politics. How am I supposed to know what you think is problematic? Maybe you're fine with people like me and maybe you're not!?!?
But all you've seen of me is my cat blog so. My cats are not problematic (except when they get into the recycling bin or similar shenanigans) so I guess you're just gonna have to deal with me

Do you know Devilman Crybaby? Can you write the DMC men with a fem reader who’s a demon like Sirene in the show
Sirene: https://pin.it/259GZhAwx
Description: Sirene is often described as one of the most beautiful demons, to the point where she has been mistaken for an Angel more than once. Like the harpies of Greek mythology, Sirene looks like a hybrid between a human and a bird: She has the general appearance of a beautiful young naked woman with penetrating blue eyes, light skin, slender physique and voluptuous breasts. Along with these human traits she has a feathered tail, two antennae on her forehead, bird claws as arms and legs and a large pair of white wings sprouting from her head which allow her to fly. Bird-like plumage grows around her face and over her crotch. Depending on the artwork, her plumage excluding her wings are either white or pink.
She used to be a typical demon, hates human with the entirety of her existence but was once touched by a child who nursed her back to health when she was heavily injured. After the child (who’s now a very old lady) passed away, she sort of starting to see humanity in a different view points
“A bunch of bigoted and egotistical creatures…but nevertheless resilient and indomitable. You have my respect, mortal”
P/S: I can imagine Nero handing reader a jacket as her devil trigger form is quite…revealing
Nero: For the love of god…wear the jacket!!
Reader: Nudity is not just an aesthetic, it’s a lifestyle..I think you should embrace it as well. But it seems that to humans, wearing clothes are an essential…Such a shame…to never know what it feels like roaming the streets naked and free
Nero: Babe…WHAT?!!
Never heard of that, but I can write this. Hope I did well 💜
Sparda boys + V x Sirene-like!Reader headcannons
¤ Dante ¤
-Dante thought you were an angel at first, because of your beauty and your feathers.
-He thought you were hot--really hot--even though you were a demon. It's safe to say the man was enamored by your demonic charms.
-He's glad that you changed your human-hating ways and that you've learned to accept them, since despite his demon side, Dante chooses to identify as one of them.
-The first time he saw your "devil trigger" he nearly had a nosebleed on the spot. Later that night, he insisted you start using it for things other than combat purposes.
-He doesn't want you walking around topless though, sexy as that might be. He insists you wear a bra or some kind of covering, at the very least.
-Collects the feathers that you shed and stuffs them into pillows because they're soft, there's always plenty of them, and it's a great way for his broke ass to save money.
■ Vergil ■
-Vergil shares your haughty and condescending outlook on humanity, seeing them as ridiculous buffoons himself.
-Likes to sit on rooftops with you and judge every individual that walks by, commenting on their attire, speculating their lifestyles based solely on their groceries, and so on.
-Thinks your feathers are very pretty and loves to pet them.
-Has a strong dislike for you walking around nude. It angers him to think that his beloved's privates are being exposed to the world. He doesn't care what your philosophy is, put on a damn shirt and a pair of underwear.
-Will definitely force you to wear give you his coat when you're not listening to him, or when you "forget" to put on your clothes, and makes sure to fasten it tightly so peeping Toms can't see anything.
-How you dress at home is an entirely different story. It makes Vergil feel like a king to have his beautiful beloved sitting naked on his lap while he reads (erotic?) poetry.
□ Nero □
-Nero is extremely embarrassed by you and your weird philosophy regarding nudity.
-He doesn't care if you find walking around an "aesthetic", it's disgusting and it's garnering you all lots of looks of mixed intentions.
-He refuses to go anywhere with you unless you wear his jacket. Your bottom is fine since you have lots of feathers that could pass for a bikini bottom, but you will not be walking around with your boobs hanging out.
-Will force his clothes onto you if you don't listen. Confused civilians might find themselves watching as Nero angrily strips himself down to his undergarments and forces them over your head.
-He's not exactly fond of your previous outlook on humanity, given that he is mostly human himself, but since you've changed and you accept them and all their flaws, he's happy.
-He has kept exactly one of your feathers and keeps it in his wallet, because gross as you might be, he still loves you and wants a piece of you to come with him everywhere he goes.
● V ●
-V was enchanted by your beauty, but found himself blushing at your shameless nudity.
-He likes to collect your feathers and puts them in his scrapbook(s), sometimes stringing them up on necklaces or other accessories.
-He will write poems about your "Devil Trigger", writing about how elegant and beautiful you are, even if you are constantly nude.
-He insists you put on some nice, non revealing clothes when you go out, and in return, you can walk around as nude as you'd like at home.
-Can't stop himself from running his fingers through your feathers when you're sitting together.
-Since he's (kinda) human, he worries whether or not you look down on him like you do on everyone else. You don't, do you?

Candace Owens uses a 19th century drawing to compare transgender people to Baphomet.
Tumblr media
Candace Owens has been saying the most ridiculous and oftentimes horrifically antisemitic stuff lately so I am not particularly surprised that this bigotry filled episode slid under the radar of groups like Media Matters. Someone’s got to hold it up to the light though and I guess that someone is me. So, Candace appears to believe that not only do demons exist but that they're also transgender....I'm not even kidding.
This absolutely ridiculous belief is not as uncommon on the right as it should be. The Daily Wire's Michael Knowles said the exact same thing back in 2023 using the exact same drawing of Baphomet that Candace uses in this episode which helps cement my theory that Candace Owens has never had an original thought in her life nor met a ridiculous conspiracy theory that she didn't believe. Lets get into it.
00:56, Candace Owens: "So lately, Baphomet has been trending sporadically throughout 2024 on Twitter. I think most recently because King Charles premiered his painting and people were going 'Ah, I see the horns of Baphomet'. Maybe you agree with that, maybe you don't. I kind of do really see it but some other people that work with me don't. The point is that Baphomet is a sabbatic goat, a deity, first drawn up by a man named Éliphas Lévi who was born in 1810 in France. Now, Levi was an occultist "
I don't see the horns in the painting and even if I did I seriously doubt that King Charles intentionally referenced a Pagan deity in his royal painting but that's beside the point. Time for me to infodump about Baphomet to ya'll!
So, Baphomet is a Pagan deity that was first mentioned in the year 1098 by Anselm of Ribemont in a letter describing the events of the Siege of Antioch, a siege that occurred at the ancient city of Antioch in what is now known as Turkey during the First Crusade. Anselm wrote in a letter that the Turkish “called loudly upon Baphomet."
Now, most scholars believe that Anselm was actually referring to "Mahomet" or Mohammed, the founder of Islam meaning that "Baphomet" most likely was the result of a mistranslation by an invading army. Candace neglects to mention this fact because it pokes a bit of a hole in her narrative.
But what of this Éliphas Lévi? He was indeed the first person to draw the modern image of Baphomet but that doesn't really mean anything. There's a 99.9% chance that Lévi's drawing is just that. He didn't see the actual Baphomet because there is no actual Baphomet. As stated previously, the entire reason that "Baphomet" exists is because some guy in the 11th century misheard the cries of the people he was invading.
01:29, Candace Owens: "I'll let you take a listen to this exorcist Daniel Reehill who sat down with Michael Knowles for an interview. Take a listen."
Daniel Reehill: "So, when we talked about the transgender. I don't know if you know this but one of the ancient images of Satan is Baphomet. Ok, what is Baphomet? So, he's got the goat head, he's got the woman's torso with the breasts and the mans down below. So, that's not a new thing. So, imagine the devil, he identifies as transgender as that image."
Ok, two things here.
Number one): If you weren't convinced when I mentioned it up top, Candace is basically just stealing a narrative that one of her old co-workers has been pushing for years. So not only is this narrative a disgusting and bigoted way to dehumanize trans identity using religion, it's not even an original one.
Number Two): This so-called "exorcist" clearly doesn't understand his own religion because Satan is not Baphomet. They're completely separate entities and Baphomet isn't even mentioned in the Bible, which should be obvious given the history that I just laid out. If we're being generous, Baphomet is a Pagan idol that still has absolutely nothing to do with Satan. The only way you, even as a person of faith, could draw the conclusion that "the devil identifies as transgender" is to throw out years of history and your own religious text.
If you guys can't tell, I am a bit stunned that a guy who's supposed to be an expert on Christianity believes things that I found to be biblically inaccurate by doing a three second Google search and reading two articles. Naturally, I did some digging on Daniel Reehill. Turns out that he's a sensationalist wingnut who thinks that everything in our culture shy of Sonseed is communing with demons.
Some of Reehill's more insane claims include that Taylor Swift's Era's Tour "attracted a lot of demon's" because during one of the concerts her back-up dancers wore black capes. Reehill also believes that the spells in the Harry Potter books were "real curses". So, he's basically a wingnut who either is chasing after attention or he’s genuinely mentally ill and has a really hard time distinguishing fiction from reality which means that he doesn’t need a platform, he needs help. I'm leaning towards option one because his BS has gotten him a big old platform from idiots like Michael Knowles.
This all reflects a tiny bit worse on Michael Knowles than it does on Candace and if the dozens of posts I've done debunking Michael Knowles and the dozens more I'll probably do in the future don't tip you off, I'm not exactly the president of the Michael Knowles fan club either. However, it is still Candace's responsibility to fact-check the claims that she's presenting as abject truth on her show and she's absolutely failed on that front.
02:17, Candace Owens: "Now, we're not gonna get too much into the history of Baphomet"
Because it would prove that you're a complete idiot who doesn't know how to take ten seconds to read an article before running your mouth off? Guess that getting into the history of Baphomet is my job.
02:20, Candace Owens: "But suffice it to say that Satanists worship this deity. They have sexual rituals which include sodomy and homosexuality."
Equating being gay with sodomy and satanism is pretty disgusting even for Candace Owens. By the way, there's absolutely no proof that "Satanic sexual rituals" occur. Candace probably still believes that the lies told during the Satanic Panic were 100% factual.
02:29, Candace Owens: "So we look around the world today and we suddenly feel that there is definitely a certain agenda being pushed, specifically in the west. And I always recount this conversation that has stayed with me for a long time. I was walking down the streets of DC where there's a lot of pride and I was with a Romanian young woman and she said genuinely, not to be offensive at all, she was asking me this question meaningfully, she said 'why are there so many gay people in America? We just don't see this out east' and I thought, wow what an interesting question and she is correct because I have been to Romania and you don't see that."
The reason that you don't see as many LGBTQ people in Romania is because it's just a generally more conservative country that possesses an oppressive attitude towards queer identity.
While homosexuality is legal in Romania, same-sex unions are still not legally recognized by the nation. Perhaps the reason why this Romanian woman was so surprised by pride is because the nation simply has a bad track record with queer rights as well as a population that is less accepting of queer people and as a result many LGBTQ Romanian's are forced to hide their identities. Candace tries to address this point and basically plugs her ears whilst screeching "I CAN'T HEAR YOU".
03:08, Candace Owens: "And now some people would argue, especially people that are on the left, 'well, it's because they're all having to hide because the society is so backwards and so traditional'. Ok, doesn't matter where you stand it's the question itself that is interesting."
Except that if you do even the tiniest amount of research you'd find that Romania's attitude towards queer people is indeed super oppressive which in turn answers the question that Candace is asking.
03:20, Candace Owens: "And what I have noticed as of late is that androgyny is definitely getting the Hollywood treatment. I mean, I think it was before my show went off air, I was covering Kristen Stewart. She recently was on the cover of maybe Vogue, maybe Vanity Fair, doesn't really matter but she was promoting her new movie and she was so proud because she was portraying this butch lesbian."
This is exactly why the conservative movement's weird attempt to rebrand themselves into the "modern revolutionaries" is so stupid. If Candace Owens was around in the 60's, she'd be screaming about how rock music can lead to demonic possession.
Candace Owens isn't the artistic expression police and some interview that most people won't read isn't an indicator that some shadowy "gay agenda" is being pushed by Hollywood. By the way, for those keeping track we're only three minutes in.
04:01, Candace Owens: "And of course, we also see this in the education system. They are pushing gender theory, you can actually get a degree -- could you imagine spending six figures to get a degree in gender studies? The children are learning what it means to be nonbinary, not bound to any of the sexes or any of the genders."
"The children" meaning adults who are paying to get a degree in something that interests them. I love how Candace's one example of "queer indoctrination" in schools is the fact that some universities offer a major in gender studies. I'm sure that all those 8 year olds taking university level gender studies courses are fully brainwashed by now.
04:27, Candace Owens: "Which makes Katt Williams interview with Joe Rogan fascinating. Now, I'm gonna have to ask you to park aside the fact that Katt Williams is clearly high out of his mind-"
NOPE!
I have nothing against weed. I am for the United States federally legalizing weed and I live and go to school in Toronto, the getting high capitol of North America. That being said, there is absolutely no way I am going to "park aside" the fact that this guy who Candace is asking me to take seriously was high as a kite when he made the statements that Candace is asking me to consider! People who talk about transgender demons when they're high are usually not good sources.
Anyway, here's Katt talking shit while high as a kite. This is extremely serious stuff.
04:55, Katt Williams: "Things that are secular so I understood that the earliest I had seen that word transgender was ummm, Baphomet the transgender and so I knew that -- and the ritual of Baphomet the transgender, to show allegance to him you had to kiss his ass ring and it said both of those things so I knew that both of those things would become popular in the future and that umm, somehow calling people the goat would be normalized over the sheep being always the most popular reference."
You know what that sounds like? Some guy talking shit while blazed out of his mind! In that clip he literally says that calling people "the goat" is some form of pro-Baphomet conditioning, these are not the words of a serious person.
Again, I've lived in Toronto and met a lot of high people. I've been told the craziest shit by people who are high, drunk, and potentially even both simultaneously and it's always good for some fun. The difference between me and Candace is that I don't take what those people said and run with it as fact. Kiss the Baphomet ass ring, what the hell does that even mean?! Baphomet was never historically referred to as "Baphomet the transgender" either.
Candace gives a book recommendation and then says one of the dumbest things that I think I've heard since I started writing this blog.
09:01, Candace Owens: "Like if you had asked me before I read that book whether or not the conspiracy theory that the Beatles were a government controlled operation was true I would have been like 'are you crazy? What do you mean? The government controlled an entire group?' and now I'm like absolutely, they were part of a government psychological operation."
What?!
The Beatles were a CIA psy-op wasn't on my right-wing media craziness bingo card and yet here we are. Ah yes, the Beatles, a group that preached anti-war messages. This was naturally a message that the US government wanted out there. I'm sure they were especially thrilled since the Beatles were active during the Vietnam War and we all know how much the US Government loved peace activists during the Vietnam War! Good thinking Candace, you really cracked open that conspiracy!
09:22, Candace Owens: "Further to that point, which is not in this book by the way, is this bizarre fact that the doorman when John Lennon was shot, Jose Perdomo, he was once the chief of the secret service in Cuba. He later joined the CIA."
There are a wide variety of reasons why this claim is really stupid. Perdomo wasn't the "chief of the secret service in Cuba", that's totally ridiculous! I did some research and it does appear that there was a "Jose Perdomo" who was a policeman in Cuba who was exiled after Fidel Castro took power but there is absolutely no evidence that this guy was A): A CIA agent or B): that these two guys are even the same person. There are dozens of people who have the same name and it's totally possible that these guys were two different people.
Think about it this way, if the CIA did send this Perdomo guy to kill John Lennon and if he actually was a CIA agent than you would think that they'd give him an alias. I doubt the CIA is dumb enough to send documented CIA agents to assassinate a celebrity and act as a witness without tying up all the loose ends and wait, weren't the Beatles a CIA psy-op? Why would the CIA kill John Lennon if he was a major voice pushing their message.
This is the kind of thing that you'd see on WorldNetDaily. God, Candace Owens is so embarrassing.
Conclusion:
So, what did we learn? Short answer is that Candace Owens and Michael Knowles for that matter can go kiss Baphomet's ass ring.
Long answer is that this entire episode was bigoted and embarrassing as hell. She clearly didn't research a thing that she said and just went in completely half cocked in an effort to justify bigotry against the trans community. After all, we're fighting demons here and if Baphomet identifies as trans than it's totally ok to discriminate against transgender people. It's disgusting, dehumanizing and doesn't even make sense using it's own logic!
Cheers and I'll see you in the next one.

What made you detransition or rather how did you realize you no longer identify as such? /gen
Well basically I went to a gender therapist per the recommendation of my regular therapist (who fully believed I was trans but she didn't feel comfortable prescribing HRT considering her lack of experience in the field). I had about 20 sessions with him and at one point after about 8 he said that based on the criteria for gender dysphoria he was prepared to write me a prescription for HRT but he wanted to know that I was comfortable with it. I realized I wasn't because giving up the possibility of having biological children hit me like a huge truck. I am aware that some trans men can get pregnant but it's not a sure thing for everyone and also the idea of being perceived as a pregnant man made me very uncomfortable (back then I would have said dysphoric, in reality I'm sure it was just the social stigma), more uncomfortable than the idea of being perceived as a pregnant woman. I am adopted and I have seen firsthand how hard it was for my mom to not have her own bio kids. She still feels sad about it even though I am enough for her. I had always planned on having kids and went through a phase when I was 15 or 16 where I was researching pregnancy in-depth. This should have been another sign I was cis lol.
Anyway so I told my gender therapist I wanted to wait and have a couple kids with a likeminded bisexual cis man or trans woman and then transition. We then spent several sessions talking about other things entirely. In my mind I still identified as a closeted trans man for another year or so but I only told my boyfriend at the time who was bi so he didn't care and I un-came out to my parents - told them it was just a phase and they were relieved. :(
While I was dating that guy, I had a huge crush on a different cis guy who was straight. With this straight guy I would fantasize about having a straight relationship and straight sex, and eventually I did start dating him but didn't really feel the desire to come out to him as trans. I felt weird about having come out to my old bf and I wished that I could just pretend to be a cis woman again to everyone I knew. At some point it occurred to me that while the obvious explanation for this is that trans identity is stigmatized, many trans people do feel relieved when they come out regardless, especially to people that are as supportive as my boyfriend and friends were. It instead occured to me that I wanted to present as a cis woman because I WAS a cis woman but I was still kind of throwing ideas around in my head, not sure what was going on.
Then I happened to go on the subreddit for OCD and they had a bunch of subreddits for specific obsessions listed in the sidebar. I didn't know what /r/tocd stood for so I checked it out and it turns out there is a pretty common subtype of OCD based on the persistent idea that you're trans despite no evidence for this or pre-existing desire to transition (I think the sub is /r/transOCD now). I read through a bunch of posts on there and it basically explained everything I had gone through in the past few years. It was an OCD-based intrusive thought like my old ideas about having to do every problem in the math textbook or having to wear purple to open my crown chakra. Unfortunately this one was spurred on by a bit of social pressure like those posts that are like, "If you even are thinking about being trans, that means you're trans, cis people don't think about this shit" and egg memes on Reddit. Obviously there is also social pressure to NOT be trans but when you've filtered your social circle so stringently that it doesn't include any bigots and therefore anyone who would pressure you to not be trans, the pressure to accept it if you're thinking about it can be stronger in reality.
Like I'm sure that a lot of people who wonder if they're trans are the real deal, a much higher number than the general population, but people with OCD should stay far away from ideas like "If you think about X you are X." OCD makes you fixate on completely random things that have nothing to do with reality, they're not necessarily things you're afraid of, just because you fixate on being trans doesn't mean you're afraid of trans people or dislike them - it just means it's something that your brain has decided to latch onto because it's stuck in a horrible anxiety loop. Maybe I was afraid of being a man in women's spaces and the anxiety that unconsciously provoked in them, or of never coming across as feminine enough, or of my hypersexuality meaning that I was some sort of failed woman. There may very well be a rational root of the obsession but unfortunately TERFs and other people skeptical of trans people existing at all will take that and spin it to be an explanation for everyone who identifies as FTM. I'm sure a lot of trans men had similar feelings to me growing up in a lot of areas but the difference is that they have male brains and I simply don't, they're happier being men socially and physically as much as possible and I am happy with the opposite. So I hope no one takes my personal experience out of its personal context. If you have any more questions feel free to ask and sorry for the novel :)

hey, sorry, i did read ur bio but im..... unclear what u mean specifically by "anti anti" and "pro ship/pro fiction"? sorry, the terms get thrown around a lot and its made me unclear what ppl mean when they use them since its used in such drastically different contexts. sorry to bother
it's alright, you're not bothering me. i was honestly kind of expecting an ask like this after making that post. i hope, anon, before you respond (if you respond) you hear me out for the whole post.
i'm gonna put this under a cut since i rambled, sorry. warning for some discussion of abuse
first off, i wanna say that while writing this response feels very weird and kind of nerve-wracking, this isn't information i've been trying to hide. i, perhaps foolishly, tend to assume that people who follow me have at least read my bio, even if they choose not to read my about page, and it's becoming increasingly obvious that this is just......not the case? and it's becoming a bit frustrating to inevitably receive backlash from people following me about views i've been open about having from the get-go, hence the vent post. sorry about that, though, there's better ways of handling that frustration, i know.
secondly, i'm pro ship as in......pro ship. all ships, no matter how tasteless, controversial, or disgusting i or anyone else might find them. i'm pro fiction in the same sense, but just in regards to fiction as a whole, both in and out of fandom. while i never fully identified as an anti, i definitely used to have views closer to that mindset, and i can confidently say that they have caused me a lot of harm in the long run. also, while i fully take accountability for the things i've said during those years, i also feel like in some sense i was enabled to be cruel to others while i was a part of that group. never full on hate campaigns, sure, but i've definitely said some nasty stuff to people, and i regret ever doing it, and i especially feel regret for ever feeling justified in doing it. it also bothers me that there were other anti-minded people in my circles who encouraged me, even, and assured me i was doing the right thing when i fucking wasn't.
while i don't think i can explain all of my reasons for my beliefs in this post alone—that would make this thing way longer than it already is—i want to mention that i don't disagree with the notion that fiction can have an affect on our reality, i just think it's more nuanced than a one-to-one correlation of "reading about [thing]=think [thing] is now good", and i also think since fandom is, well, fandom, people tend to overexaggerate its influence on people. if you've ever read a fic or watched a tv show and thought that they handled a certain subject poorly, or recognized that a certain trope they used was bigoted, or anything of that sort, then, well, congrats! you know exactly what i mean. fiction can certainly influence people's views, but i think it's more of a lack of education (sex education, education on the lived experiences of minorities, etc) that's the problem, rather than the fiction on its own.
i also HEAVILY dislike this notion that fiction causes or enables people to abuse—in the case of the former, that's taking responsibility from the abuser because it implies that fiction "made" them do it when it was really their choice to be cruel, and in the case of the latter, i really think it's the aforementioned lack of education and the lack of systems we have in place to support victims/challenge authority that's more of an issue. sure, fiction can absolutely be used to groom people for abuse, but so can candy, or sports, or money, or one on one time, a whole bunch of things are all potential tools and unfortunately, we can't ban everything that could potentially be used to harm someone. and besides, that's overlooking that properly tagged fic (i'm. very pro content warnings in addition to being anti censorship just to be clear) can actually help people realize they're being abused when they see their situations being reflected on the page in front of them that's clearly labeled as abuse.
those aren't my only reasons of course, but this is getting long already, so thank you for sticking with me if you've gotten to the end. if you're uncomfortable with me because of this, i understand, i just ask that you either quietly unfollow or block me, because i'm not afraid to report people for harassment. if you have any good-faith follow up questions, i'm free to answer those as well, i really don't mind.

Actually, now what I think about it, prev reblog is probably why I roll my eyes hard at the like, "Japanese writers keep writing extremely transfem characters and then not having them call themselves trans"?
(Long ramble below, also read prev reblog first I think)
Well, not the whole reason. There's also the part where "Japanese people [negative thing X] all the time!" is you know. Usually racist.
But even that aside, like... When we're talking about characters who are definitely amab, present feminine, are often treated as in some way separate from both the male and female csst members...
I dunno, seems pretty transfeminized to me! And so it feels like arguing over whether they have to turn to the camera and go "I Am A Trans Woman" to "count" is just... Not something I can bring myself to care about, and while I respect that others do it just feels silly to make a big deal of them not using specific identity terms.
And I mean, part of this is also that these archetypes are like, usually (not always) treated reasonably kindly? Not necessarily the most nuanced portrayal of gender and often there will be some uncomfortable shit, but like, ime usually overall treated as "good if kinda weird" rather than "disgusting and evil". Which is nice!
(This is of course not to pretend there's never transmisogyny going on here. Like even if we pretend - and it would be pretending, because it's wrong - there's never a transmisogynistic element to these characters...
There's also much more directly bigoted "man in a dress" archetypes quite frequently - although certainly no more than are in Western media, to be clear.
And like, there's even shittiness in how they're divided: Ones who pass well, regardless of how they identify, get to be treated as weird but harmless. Characters that do not are jokes at best and degenerate perverts at worst.
Which you know. Does suck!)
Anyway, yeah. Just something I'm thinking about again. Because like, even when I had a much worse theoretical framework and vocabulary on the subject, I did broadly hold this view. Kind of always been on the "if they are going to treat someone like a tranny faggot regardless it's really not worth spending all of your time splitting hairs here." train.
(I consider this distinct from the like, "it's bad to say tme because everyone is affected by transmisogyny!" argument because like...
To put it in oversimplified terms:
I think if e.g. a cis butch woman is identified as a trans woman and discriminated against then that's a misidentification and so meaningfully distinct - although, to be clear, homophobia and misogyny are you know, still very real and almost certainly something this person deals with (+ often other forms of transphobia as well) - in how it impacts their life.
While if e.g. a self identified crossdresser is identified as a trans woman and discriminated against then, well, in a sense I don't consider that a misidentification at all! They have correctly been assessed as "amab person who is presenting too femininely and must be punished for doing so". And like, obviously the exact manifestation is different and in many cases significantly less severe, but I'm not sure what you would call the force that punishes that kind of behavior if not transmisogyny!)

Marvel is backing the fans who call anyone who doesn't like the X-Men blue origins retcon "transphobic" by making Mystique non binary just because she's a shapeshifter (and I guess transexual too? They're throwing words around at this point). We had 40 years of her being a woman, considering herself a woman and never having doubts about her identity and gender identity as a woman. We got her appearance when depowered (she is a woman) and Claremont himself describing her as a she and female in her base form. We got all that Vs what ? The current era version of herself who doesn't like men... Because. And the retcon which breaks four decades of stories (did everyone forget Mystique's first X-Men story is Days of Future Past? The dystopian future she helped create that nearly eradicated all mutants ? Where Nightcrawler is one of the first mutants to die right after Kelly gets shot?? Without anyone preventing that ??? And somehow he was meant for greater things by Mystique and Destiny ? Sorry but gotta call bs on that) and some more since apparently Nightcrawler being part of the X-Men wasn't important for him or intended ?
I'm gonna stick to pre-2015 X-Men canon cuz at least it doesn't make everything that came before it a plothole on a basic re-read or pretend like it never happened
See this is the thing I don't like about Marvel retconning some characters to having different identities, and notice how they do it as retcons instead of having these characters come to this new realisation of how they identify. You know like how people actually do?
And they always love to do it with marginalised identities so that if you say "I think this was poorly written" they and their overzealous fans can use the "You're a bigot" defense when its like no you're just terrible at writing this stuff and you don't even consider anything other than like the first marginalised identity to come to mind when you want to retcon. I do find it odd that after they revealed Morph as Non Binary they seem to think all shapeshifters need to be the same, which kind of seems to be making a comment that they probably didn't intend but hey if they want praise for doing the bare minimum and barely thinking it through they can get criticism for the same.
But you're right, while at times she has been implied to be many things she's always identified as a woman and Claremont said she was a woman, its interesting how Marvel and fans pick and choose what they want from Claremont when it comes to his 2nd origin idea thats apparently ironclad truth but his first origin idea and Mystique's gender what? you think some former X-Men writer knows anything about X-men?
Like at least be consistent, I don't care much for Claremont's ideas for a lot of the X-men but I'm not out here using him as some infalliable source for something I like then going back on it when he says something else.
Actually Nightcrawler dying in Dystopian futures always bugged me for reasons beyond personal bias, because please tell me how exactly does a mutant who can teleport at will die frequently in these timelines but then someone like Colossus, a slow moving metal target easy to detect survives?? And for that matter apparently Quicksilver dies in these dystopian future timelines a lot too. Is it because a Teleporter and a Speedster make things too easy in future?

I feel like my understanding of catholics as a sort of atheist in Spain, is very different than that of most of usa-people here on tumblr.
There are the weirdos ultra-catholics who do go to church on Sundays, are the minority, and are the sort of people to vote PP or Vox. May be passionatelly many -ism or the casual sort that hasn't thought beyond themselves on their lives. Honestly, there's a weird disconnect between right wing thoughts and actual religion here; most of the right wing thinking is a result of Franco being a catholic dictator but nowadays almost nobody goes to church, so being a bigot doesn't mean you go to church or believe in God, although your ideas are very much originating there.
There are the run of the mill, calls themselves catholics bc they got baptized and did the communion, may or may not married by the church bc aesthetics (and this is honestly the reason most of the time kid you not. To be fair, the church are gorgeous so I get it XD), cries on Holy Week seeing their virgin, Jesus or othe Ron the procession, doesn't give much more of a thought to doctrine except when they get stupid about it. Honestly kinda hilarious, and the big percent of religious people in Spain, for a certain definition of religious.
May or my not be baptized and may or may not done the communion, but they're anti-church and/or atheist which means they only get out to see the procession on Holy Week because it's folklore and traditional, and look it's all very emotive and spiritual anyways. To be fair, those are very pretty and the music or the silence (depending on the hermandad) is amazing and specifically made to get to you. Go to YouTube if you don't belive me. Will sing villancicos to baby Jesus without much thought in 24th December. Will also go through the motions of all the catholic celebration bc. Why not? Will maybe think about the whole contradiction of a pais laico and the mayor holidays being catholic festivities, but not eat their heads overmuch.
Has been born into a atheist family, which given Franco died on the 70's, has probably also a story of a little political leftist activism. Or their parents where on the third tier and didn't bother with getting their kids baptized or into the religion class at school, so they're going through the motions of Christmas and Holy Week through a weird lens of "this is a funny tale we commemorate just because". This kind most likely sees Holy Week as super annoying for urban mobility reasons, looks at costaleros as if they're insane for the damage they do to their backs voluntarily, at the penitentes as if they're crazy for letting church police them with guilt and generally admit the whole thing may be beautiful aesthetically and a valid expression folklore, but it could be done more sensibly and without causing national collapse, and you could extend the same treatment to other big religious minorities, but they usually don't have many alternatives for a spring break, so Holy Week for the whole country it is. May celebrate Christmas bc its family time but not connect it to religion or know much of the mythology. Ah the glories of being somewhat culturally catholic but not religious in Spain. <-btwen the previous and this is me, yay!!!
The third and forth tier, and maybe half on the second recognize religion at school as it is now is stupid, but as most things in this country, the issue is plagged by lethargy and kids are still given catholic religion since age 3, even though it's optional so like. Ugh.
Those same tiers are the ones most likely to have on a church or cathedral for art or history turism reasons.
As this post is about the catholics in Spain I finish it here. There are lots of other people too, but I don't now much about them so. Not getting there.
This is my subjective opinion as someone who lives in Andalusia and got such a whiplash on the bautism on my young cousin on my father side, that I went 0.0 what. (I really didn't recognize or identified anything of the ritual, so it was very novel for me. Very anthropologist approximates a new culture approach to the thing).
If you think I overemphasized Holy Week, I want you to come here to see a city here on la madrugá del cautivo and tell me that again to my face. Wild.

Hey! I'm fairly new here and I have a pretty uncommon take on Kaylor. But I just wanna start off by saying I try my best to be as supportive of LGBT people as possible and if they're both bisexual, then I would be 100% okay with that! I'm not trying to "defend their heterosexuality" or anything, I think that's really weird
Okay, so my personal theory is that Kaylor did happen, but that Taylor and Karlie are both straight. I know that might sound contradictory, but I say this based on my own personal experiences based on how I am with my best friend. I think Karlie and Taylor's relationship might have been similar in some ways to ours
Right, so I'm straight and I'm not into women in the gay kind of way (but it's completely cool that some girls are), and I have this roommate who's gorgeous. Really gorgeous, she's like a 10/10 "I would sell my kidney to look like you" kind of girl. She's very attractive, she has like tan skin and long legs and gorgeous brown hair and pretty eyes and nice lips and just like… she's just very good looking. I'm definitely jealous of her body, I won't even pretend I'm not 😪 I lowkey hate her because of it (jk)
We've been living together since not long before COVID started, and we're very good friends. There were three of us before, but our other roommate went back home to stay with her parents until in person classes are back on and we agreed to it and worked something out because she has really bad anxiety so we understood her reasoning for it
Anyway so it's just been us two and because we've been at home a lot during this time instead of out for most of the day like before, we've gotten to know each other a lot better and have become a lot closer. We were already friends from before, but now we're like super close besties, we've been hanging out a lot together and playing board games, watching movies, helping each other with essays, just having long conversations about anything and everything, etc
Like it's been so nice having a best friend that I can be this close to now because I haven't had a best friend since I was a kid
So my friend and I were having like a conversation last year about how hard it's been in quarantine not being able to go on dates and how we miss kissing people, and so we decided to just like, make out for fun you know. I mean, there's not really anything that's inherently romantic or sexual about making out, that's just society that says that. But tbh I think making out with your friends if you want to should be normalized, it's fun and it can even be emotional sometimes. It's not that different from hugging people
After a couple of weeks or so, I think we got bored of just making out with each other and decided to like, fully hook up. It started off because we were modelling lingerie for each other for banter and were pretending we were each other's runway judges and then I think we just decided to hook up with each other as like part of the whole "game". I can't remember who initiated it now, I think it might have been me as a joke lol
Like just in a platonic way for fun, as a kind of substitute until we can go back into society
And tbh I always expected hooking up with a woman to be like mediocre and boring and awkward, but although it was a bit hard to get the hang of at first and there was a learning curve, it's actually very enjoyable. Like I was very surprised actually at how hot it can be, I think I can maybe see why bisexual women and lesbians like doing it
Anyway we both liked it and we just carried on hooking up on the regular and it's been like 8 months now and tbh I just think it's very sweet and heartwarming, like it actually makes me feel a little emotional how we're close enough and care about each other enough that we can even help each other out with the physical intimacy side of things so that we don't get sexually frustrated while we're stuck in lockdown
I just think it's really cool and we even sleep in the same bed most of the time now because tbh what's the point in sleeping alone when you can sleep in the same bed as someone else? It's nicer, like you can cuddle and stuff
Anyway, I think that maybe Kaylor's relationship might have been similar. I think they're both straight but they became really close friends in a short space of time, and that their friendship was so intense that it became physical but in a platonic way
I think lesbians and bisexual women are amazing and I have so much respect for you guys for accepting yourselves in a society that tries to erase you, and I think there definitely needs to be more wlw representation on TV and in movies
But at the same time, I would also like there to be more close female friendships like the one that me and my friend have where you can just talk about everything together and do things that society usually reserves for romantic partners, but in a platonic way. Because female friendship is really important and beautiful, whether that's between straight women like me and my friend who I think is probably straight too, or between queer women because one thing I've learnt during my short time on this blog is how queer women can have very close platonic friendships with other queer women too
I think society just has overly strict ideas of "straight" and "gay". Like for some people, they would hear about two women sleeping together and think "Oh that's gay", but not necessarily because straight women can enjoy sleeping with other women too, like it's normal 🤷‍♀️
I think it's just a result of women being a lot more physically beautiful than men are, like straight women really got the short end of the stick tbh compared to straight men
I also think it's because women are so oversexualized in the media, and obviously straight girls see that too and so we sort of internalize that attraction to women because we're so used to seeing women being presented in a sexual way? Except it's not real attraction with us like how it is for queer girls
Like I'm very much "attracted" to my friend, she's genuinely stunning and just very hot tbh. But I still identify as straight because it's just a case of what I mentioned above, it's a "fake" attraction. And also because men are afraid to compliment other men because it's seen as "gay", but women can be fully confident in their sexuality and still recognize other women's beauty and sex appeal. You see it all the time in instagram comments, and I really love how we're all so supportive of each other like that
Like I can be fully confident in my sexuality and yet still say that some women like my friend are gorgeous as hell and also 100 times better looking than most men I've seen. I'm very much obsessed with some women's appearances but in a platonic way
And I just love the concept of "girl crushes" and I think that from a feminism viewpoint, it's beautiful that we're focusing on other girls and showing love towards other girls too, instead of just to men who, let's be real, don't even fully appreciate it half of the time
I am going to be sad when we all have to return to life as usual and my friend and I won't be able to spend as much time together anymore. I'm dreading it tbh, I don't want it to end yet. And it really sucks that the physical side of our friendship will probably have to stop too once our other roommate comes back because I think she'd definitely misunderstand the situation and think it's something different than it actually is if she ever saw us kissing or something. I really am going to miss it a lot though, I really like how things currently are and it's just really really nice and I don't want it to change :/
Btw I'm sorry if I sounded fetishistic or offensive with any of this, I just get a bit jealous sometimes that you guys get to date girls and we're just stuck with men. Honestly if it wasn't for all of the homophobia and the struggles that you all have to face and the fact that it would feel disrespectful to the LGBT community, I would probably really wish I could change my sexuality to be bisexual or gay instead because I just think women are better. Sometimes I really do wish I was into women in that way because dating girls just sounds so much more appealing to me (in a non fetishizing weird way) but unfortunately I'm stuck with dating men 🤦‍♀️ But I also know I'm lucky and privileged to be straight even though most men are mediocre and kinda gross and I don't mean to be disrespectful because I know you all have to face homophobia and other LGBT difficulties and it really sucks, people are awful. There's nothing wrong with women dating women or men dating men at all, society is just ugly and bigoted
Anyway, does anybody else have a similar sort of take on Kaylor where they think they could have both been straight and just had a very close friendship with a physical side to it? I think it would explain a lot. But like I said, this is just a theory of mine based on my own situation, and I'm also open to the idea that it was an actual relationship and that they're both into women for real, not just fake "into women" like I am.
Also pls feel free to call me out if I accidentally said anything offensive towards LGBT people, I tried my best but if I made a mistake anywhere pls let me know and I'll avoid it next time!
You’re not offensive. Please stop apologizing. And we’re gonna come back to the Kaylor stuff another time because... Honey. You and I need to have a conversation for a bit.
So firstly, I’m not trying to like “diagnose” you and at the end of the day it’s your choice what you want to call yourself but... tbh you might not be straight. Sexuality is fluid not static and exists on a spectrum not in absolutes. It’s not like it’s straight, 50/50 bi, gay and you’re born knowing and there’s no room for anything else. That’s not true. There’s a lot of room in between all of these and labels can change over time. We’re people, not cereal brands, and sometimes we don’t even KNOW the word for what we might be. I’m tagging a tag for you from when we asked people to share their label journeys for you to see. It’s not simple or easy and it’s not just because of external stuff - it’s because figuring this out internally is HARD. If you found yourself having such an intense friendship it became physical, repeatedly, you liked it a lot, you still sleep in the same bed and continue to share all your thoughts and you don’t want any of that to end... I’m not sure you’re Kinsey 0. And I think you might lowkey have a girlfriend dude.
You can obviously prefer men but like... hun I reaaallly don’t think you’re completely straight.
Also: it’s okay to say “I see myself winding up with a man and this is a situationship for right now!” but that doesn’t make you straight because again, sexuality is a spectrum and you can manifest a particular kind of endgame while experiencing other things along the way.
But here’s where you really got me: “most men are mediocre and kinda gross” and “women being a lot more physically beautiful than men are, like straight women really got the short end of the stick tbh compared to straight men” because that’s the kind of thing I used to say in my Bi 1.0 era before I ID’d as a lesbian for a bit and before Harry Styles (KING 🥺) made me bi for real. Hun, no. Straight women like men. Tbh BI women like men. I genuinely, unironically, find Harry and Timmy and Matt Smith to be sexy beasts and I would do dirty things to the former two but maybe not the latter irl in 2021 but yes also him if I could be on that Spain trip with him and Karen where they got sloshed and which I think of often. These men are genuinely fucking beautiful to me in the same way Taylor is and Di Silvers is (okay she’s prettier than all of them but like same ~vibe) and like Megan Thee Stallion is and Indira Varma in everything but especially GOT and Gillian Anderson and Keira Knightley. Like those women are HOT to me and SO. ARE. THE. MEN.
Straight women find SO MANY DUDES hot. So many. Starting from objectively pretty options I just cannot personally understand like Chris Evans all the way through to bitches who are outchea simping for wrestlers and Cole Sprouse. Do I understand? No. But like... that’s straight girl culture and ours is not to judge.
If you’re struggling to find men hot then... you might be gay.
Also, I’m not sure what you mean by “fake attraction”. Like queer women - especially femme women which I assume you very much are - experience the same kinds of feelings straight girls do. We have women we want to be like and look like and find enviable (me and Oenone Forbat) and women we find aesthetically gorgeous (me and Anya Taylor Joy) and we have extremely close female friends who we can spend hours on end spilling our guts to - as you say female friendships are truly special - and without going into personal people that you don’t know, that’s me and Cam and Sim right? I literally talk to them for hours. Like those are not gay feelings. And yes we can chat about those kinds of feelings with straight girls and call them “girl crushes” and not immediately get “caught out” because they experience this exact shit too.
But here’s the thing. They never do and I don’t want in the cases above to fuck these women. It’s not sexual.
The moment I can actually imagine fucking the women in question that’s... gay.
Like it’s not “fake attraction” it’s literally just gay. That’s how we desire women. We want to fuck them. Not all women. Not always. But sometimes we want to get under or on top of one and just really truly fucking make each other moan with pleasure.
I have no idea if Karlie or Taylor are into women. They could both literally be straight. I have no idea.
But I have a better idea about you.
Hun, you’re fucking your roommate/best friend and don’t want to stop.
You’re not “into women”.
You’re into this woman.
And possibly into women more generally.
So I know it’s weird to have to be the one to tell you this, and if you want to keep chatting via anon or in my DMs or if you want me to try collate resources for you from around the web but...
Like.
Dude.
You’re a whole ass part of the rainbow.
Welcome to the community you thought you weren’t a part of earlier today 🌈 ❤️
It’s nice here, sure there’s homophobia, but at least we get to fuck girls and man is it good.

[the shit i’ve seen on rfgr recently the ableism and fat hatred and mocking luka is just too much. too disgusting, something is so fucked in the head with whoever is in radblr or lurks in radblr. Though i see the fat hatred leeches here too. Some people around here are literally like 4channers and it’s not a good thing. Find some better cope than being a misogynistic & hateful edgelord] If you look through the archive of this blog, you will see many ableist, misogynistic, and otherwise bigoted posts. Although in fairness to this blog, the mod did eventually stop posting these kinds of asks, that are just pointless attacks which are not good gossip or contain anything of substance, something the rfgr mods have yet to do.
interestingly, all of the people who are being attacked for things outside of their control are also people who are highly controversial in radblr. spookyluka, who is disliked by many people for identifying with some mogai terms, is currently being mocked for being a prostitute, even though radical feminists are supposed to have sympathy for prostituted women. A few months ago on rfgr, when various users were being attacked over their appearance, one notable trait all of the users having their looks scrutized shared was that they had all been involved in their share of drama and many people disliked them (the main people being called fat and ugly and having people debating whether they were pretty and ugly were menalez, 715, and regina-geourge, which I think speaks for itself). If you read old asks on this blog, the asks insulting people's appearances follow a similar pattern: before the mod put an end to it, the people being called ugly were all highly controversial people in radblr. For example, radhades (disliked for liking BDSM), opisaterf (disliked for political lesbianism, marrying a man in the military despite claiming to be being far left, threatening to kick another user's child in the head, and more), staininyourbrain (disliked for posting lewds/nudes and leaving radical feminism because she "supports trans women") and toppdyke (again, speaks for itself).
These asks attacking women's mental health status and appearances are nothing more than lazy attempts to lower the self-esteem of certain users by people who are incapable of thinking of any real arguments to use against the people they disagree with. It's laughable how they think they're doing something when such comments aren't even ideologically consistent with being a radical feminist. They are nothing more than playground insults from people who want to hurt blogs they don't like, but also don't have anything of actual value or substance to say.

TBH you're very convincing and I feel very sick and stressed out right now. My head hurts
But I feel like you're trying to trick me. And like you're lying to me. I don't want to become a Swiftgron or Haylor or Toe, I don't like any of those ships, I only like Kaylor.
I feel like you're only being nice to me because you want me to become a Gaylor
I don't know how emails work that much. How do I know somebody else didn't send them pretending to be her?
She would never ever do that, ever. I know she wouldn't because I've followed her since I was 13 years old, and she's always been nice to me and gives me the 🎯 in my asks a lot and the ☺️ face.
She's never been mean to me except for once but that was my fault for asking her a question that was stupid, but then I said sorry and she forgave me for it
I can't picture her ever doing that. I think maybe you're not lying on purpose. Maybe you just got confused with someone else, and you think it was TTB who did all of those things, but it was actually maybe Wh*ler (who I hate) or ind*stryhearts (who I hate too). They both made fun of some of my asks multiple times, and they're rude.
Maybe Wh*ler and ind*stryhearts are trying to take TTB's place, and so they're framing her
I don't know... I know TTB's a good person. I always saw her as like another mom or like a teacher that I like. Because she cares about us, I think
She doesn’t care about you hun. I don’t want you to be a Gaylor. I don’t need you to follow me. I’m literally just showing you reality. And I know it hurts. And I know it sucks. And I know it feels like a betrayal.
But it’s literally not about a ship.
This woman is a bully. You need to understand that. She is legitimately terrible. She’s antisemitic (she has bullied a 16 year old before and that girl was just like you - she fucking LOVED her and couldn’t believe that TTB wouldn’t hear her or listen to her when she asked her to stop). You remind me a lot of TTB4 tbh. Like that girl COULD NOT UNDERSTAND how her favorite blogger could turn around and threaten to doxx her. It genuinely didn’t compute for her. And it hurt her SO MUCH when people she had been friends with, people she’d vibed with, turned around and took this antisemitic bitch’s side.
TTB is ableist (she has bullied people for mental health issues before). TTB is homophobic (bottom is not an insult and posting grossed out gifs after discussing supposedly gay men isn’t okay). TTB is racist (she made BLM about Kaylor, and she fetishized mixed race babies, and she spoke about Christian Owens in the Lover MV in problematic ways).
Also your fave should never be mean to you for asking a stupid question especially if you follow for a long time. Like... it’s not hard to be kind. You shouldn’t have to apologize to blogs when they dislike a question. You shouldn’t be made to feel that way. You, yourself, have identified a way she’s... not nice. How do you know you won’t piss her off one day - you’ve said you’ve needed to apologize to her once before - and she’ll turn around and out you? Email your parents - she has done that - or your school - she did that too?
You deserve better. Your ship deserves better. She is a fucking MENACE and you are more than capable of clowning and creating content and enjoying the fuck out of Kaylor without her because she adds NO VALUE she is just a net negative toxic presence. She legit outed someone and cost her her friendship. And if she’d sent the email to that girl’s dad, she would’ve possibly endangered her life. She has bullied mentally ill people. She has yelled at Black folk when they were cross with Tay about her inaction during BLM and she twisted it to be about Kaylor (that’s not right, BLM is very important and has NOTHING to do with Tay’s love life).
She is FAR WORSE than either of the blogs you mention. She is so rude at best and bigoted and dangerous. My dude she outed someone and endangered her life.
You don’t need to bat this hard for her hun.
You deserve better.
And no I’m not saying that because I want you to follow me or join my ship haha I don’t even have a ship. I just know you deserve better babe.
