Noah Flynn was what every girl wanted and there were some girls that didn’t care that he was in a relationship. And at a party like tonight where Y/n had to watch girls fawn all over him. It hurt her on the inside more than she’d like to admit. She trusted Noah completely but when she saw all those girls around him it made her think how he should be with one of them. Not her.
“Hey.” Noah said as he came over to her having noticed how she was just keeping to herself tonight. Which was unlike her. “You okay?”
“Hmmmhmm.” Y/n nodded, she couldn’t tell him what was really wrong. What if he agreed?
“You sure?” he could tell something was up but he didn’t want to push her to hard.
“Yeah. Hey, look I’m gonna head home okay?” Y/n nodded before she grabbed her jacket and put it on.
“You sure? Hey just let me tell the guy’s and I’ll drive you.” Noah offered, he just had a gut feeling to not leave her alone right now.
“No, no. you can stay. Don’t let me ruin the fun okay? I’ll see you tomorrow.” Y/n gave him a tight smile before walking away and exiting the house.
“O-kay.” Noah watched her confused and concerned. Why would leaving with her ruin his fun? He’d rather be with her. After Y/n left Noah didn’t stay long his mind and heart weren’t into it now that she left.
^ ^ ^
It had been days since the party and Noah was now getting really worried.Y/n was close to Elle, the two were best friends maybe she could help.
“Elle.” Noah knocked on the open door to his brother’s room. “Can I talk to you for a minute?”
Elle nodded getting up to talk to Noah in the hallway. “What’s up?”
Noah sighed. “Your a girl and I need advice about one.”
Elle smirked amused as she crossed her arms. “About Y/n.”
“Yes, about Y/n.” Noah nodded
“Go on.” Elle nodded back
“Ever since that party a couple of weeks ago she keeps blowing off plans, says she can’t do anything she’s busy and she’s barely answering my calls or texts and when she does it’s vague.” Noah explained to his brother's best friend, hoping she could tell him what's wrong or at least what to do.
“Okay. You said since the party right?” Elle asked
“Yeah.” he confirmed
Elle thought for a few moments before it clicked. “You had a lot of girls around you that night.”
“So?” Noah asked confused
“No girl likes to admit it but every girl gets insecure at some point. Those girls around you looked like tall, skinny, beautiful, picture perfect models.” Elle explained to the taller Flynn. Hoping he’d understand. “Y/n’s not super skinny, not that tall, and she doesn’t believe that she had the beauty that she does have.”
“She doesn’t think she’s good enough for me?” Noah asked Elle after putting it together.
“Bingo.” Elle nodded with a tight lipped smile across her lips.
“Thanks Elle.” Noah smiled at her but it didn’t reach his eyes. The truth was he was ashamed of himself for ever letting Y/n think that she wasn’t enough for him.
Noah headed straight to Y/n’s house after Elle helped him. Once he got there he could see her mom through the kitchen window. She pointed upstairs and mouthed ‘in her room’, giving him a smile. Noah nodded in thanks before rounding to the side of the house. Y/n’s mom hoped Noah could fix whatever happened because seeing her daughter so sad was really hard to watch, it hurt alot.
Noah scaled the brick wall and climbed onto the roof. Noticing her window open he decided to just climb through it, which ended up knocking over some stuff.
Y/n turned around in shock holding her chest as she faced her window where the sound came from. Tilting her head in confusion upon who she saw. “Noah?”
“Hey” he smiled up at her from the floor of her room.
“What are you doing here?” she asked moving to help him up.
“We need to talk.” Noah stated as he got to his feet.
“About?” Y/n questioned not looking him in the eyes.
“You.” he answered simply.
“What about me?” she squinted her eyes at him.
‘Why do you think you aren’t good enough for me?” Noah asked her cutting to the chase with his eyes full of concern.
“Wha-”
“Please. Just tell me why?” he pleaded not knowing what else to do. He needed to know why so he could fix it.
Y/n shook her head looking away from him. “I’m nothing like what you should be with.”
“In your opinion.” Noah countered shaking his head. Noah stepped forward and pulled her into his chest and lifting her head so she’d look him in the eyes. “To me your exactly what I want.”
Looking in her eyes Noah could tell he was getting through at least a little but. That gave him the confidence that he could fix this, that he could get her to see herself how he sees her. “I don’t want someone who thinks they're perfect. I just want you. Cause your perfect to me and for me.”

18+ MINORS AND THOSE WITHOUT AGE IN BIO DNI
warnings: Flynn freaks out a little, bats, ghosts
Humming to myself, I strung up the garland above the card catalog. Jenkins watched me carefully from the other side of the table.
“I really don’t see the need…” he started. I sighed and looked at him over my shoulder.
“not this again Jenkins.” I groaned. “There’s no need. Just a want. And the want is to be festive.” I turned on the chair and looked at him. “So I hang the bats and everyone gets in the Halloween spirit. And you keep your mouth shut.” Jenkins sighed before going back to his book. The chair wobbled below me. Rolling my eyes, I went to turn back to the garland when the chair tilted to the side. I cried out as I started to fall. Jenkins looked up at the noise. I fell backwards and yelped as I felt a strong body behind me rather than the floor. Opening my eyes, I looked over my shoulder to see Flynn holding me up with smile. “Thanks!” I chirped as he helped me back to my feet on the ground.
“Anytime.” He kissed my cheek before walking around the table to flip through a book Jenkins had put down. I shared a look with Jenkins at Flynn’s obliviousness. “What were you doing up there anyway?”
“hanging Halloween decorations.” I said with a smile. I climbed back on the chair and continued hanging the garland. Flynn hummed before striking up a conversation with Jenkins that I tuned out. “And done!” I exclaimed as I tied off the end of the garland. Flynn walked over and helped me down from the chair.
“Looks….” Flynn broke off as he finally looked at the garland. “Bats.” He whimpered. Looking over at me, Flynn gave me an uneasy smile. “It’s bats.” I nodded.
“it’s freaking bats!” I exclaimed. Flynn nodded slowly. His eyes widened slightly. “Everything ok Flynn?” I asked, turning to gently push some hair out of his face.
“I just…” a few beats before he turned to look at me, eyes slightly wide. “I don’t like bats.” He smiled at me with a weak laugh. “Kind of silly isn’t. Of all the things to be scared of. Bats.” He waved vaguely at the garland. I nodded slowly and went to take them down. “No! It’s fine!” Flynn grabbed my arm and jerked me back slightly.
“But Flynn…” he cut me off with a kiss. I pulled back with a frown. “I can…” Flynn kissed me again. Jenkins made a disgruntled noise behind us and I pulled away. “Jenkins is going to throw something at you if you keep doing that.” Jenkins hummed in agreement as Flynn chuckled.
“I’ll be alright. As long as there aren’t any semi real ghosts hidden somewhere.” I shared a look with Jenkins, knowing that jake had somehow been able to rig something up in the library.
“uh…” I trailed off as Flynn broke away from me to head into the library. “Flynn don’t!” I called as he opened the door to the library.
“don’t…whaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!” Flynn screamed as the ghost flew past. I could hear jake yelling triumphantly in the library as i ran over to hug Flynn.
“I’m sorry.” I whispered as he shook. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know.” Flynn wrapped his arm around me and stared into the library.
“stone!” He yelled as he stopped shaking. Flynn marched into the library and I trailed behind him, ready to dismantle the rig as Flynn ripped jake a new one.

If Flynn thought that the beating he'd taken on his way out of the city, just a few short months ago, had been bad, he hadn't quite accounted for the fresh, mottled bruises that coloured his skin now that he was returning. Flynn was no stranger to having his ass kicked, but the fact that the same assholes had managed to get the jump on him not once, not twice, but three times tended to sting a little. If the whole thing weren’t such a sorry state of affairs, he was sure Wardo would be ripping into him endlessly for letting his guard down so drastically. And honestly, he’d have been right to do so – that was, if Flynn’s buddy even had the faintest clue where he was or what had happened to him.
Rae's mom had made quick work of setting her goons on Flynn, driving him out of town and away from her most prized possession. And Flynn had shamefully abided by her demands, desperate to protect the girl of his dreams from being exposed to the violence he'd been laid victim to. He hadn't had time to tell Rae he was leaving, nor to explain why, but it was for the best. He figured if it kept her safe, what should it matter? Sure, she might miss him to begin with, but he'd already laid the foundations for her getting over... whatever it was they’d had. It had broken his heart to know that Rae couldn't see sense, that she was so hung up on the love and trust she had in that evil, wretched ghoul that claimed to be her mother, but undoing such a long-lasting cycle of abuse and manipulation would take more than some poorly handled pleading on his part. Things had gotten out of hand; He'd raised his voice, they'd fought, and the last the two of them had seen of one another had left a sour taste in his mouth.
Truthfully, he'd spent the past few months avoiding frantic texts and calls from everybody he knew - Rae included. Even despite their last encounter, she still maintained the kindness that he so loved about her and had still been eager to know that he was safe and alright. He felt terrible for ignoring everybody and he knew that his friends were just concerned for his safety, but he hadn't seen the point in responding. What would he tell them? That he'd had his ass handed to him, several times over, and had been strong-armed into disappearing and staying quiet? That would kinda defeat the whole point of the agreement he'd struck when leaving, so he figured silence was the best way forward.
But he'd been stuck, lonely, and missing Rae as though she were an extension of his very being - and, honestly, in a lot of ways she was. She'd gotten stuck under his skin in the most visceral, unavoidable way imaginable; Rae Sunne had planted a seed inside his chest that had grown and grown, bright and shining as its roots tangled themselves around his heart and refused to let go. Eventually, he’d gotten into touch with Noah – the only person he’d dared to reach out to, all too aware the runaway roadie might have some understanding of his predicament, at the very least – and had been crashing in whatever hotels the Shattered Diamonds appeared to be putting him up in. It didn’t seem to matter to Noah, who was stumbling into a different person’s room every night regardless, with no care as to whether Flynn was making himself at home beneath his sheets or not, and it meant a safe space for Flynn to hide away.
The tour seemed to have edged ever close to New York with each venue, though, and even with Flynn keeping his head down, stowed away at the back of the bus in Noah’s bunk and keeping to himself, he knew it was only a matter of time before the past caught back up to him. He missed his friends, his shitty apartment that rarely had running water, and he missed her.
It had been a week since he’d finally arrived back in the city, using Noah and Keeley’s apartment as his own personal hideaway, but he’d known that sooner or later he’d need to suck it up and face the music.
The first attempt he’d made an attempt at going to see Rae, he’d fucked up. He’d made the rookie error of heading to her apartment – he hoped, against all logic, that Katie might answer the door instead. Her friendly roommate – who always seemed to have great time for Flynn, despite the ups and downs he’d gone through with her best friend – hadn't even been given the opportunity to slam the door in his face. The moment he’d arrived at the apartment block, he’d felt the cold, familiar press of metal to his throat, a knife thrust in his face as he was forcibly dragged down a dark alleyway, clumsy hands shoving him against a wall. Thankfully, the knife had been nothing more than a means to frighten him, its sharp edges never making contact. Flynn hadn’t been so lucky as for that to have been the end of the encounter, though, and had been told – not for the first time – to stay away from the girl, with various punches and kicks to the face and ribs emphasising the demand. He’d dragged himself, bleeding and achey, back to Noah’s apartment, and had barely left his couch in the days since.
As he hovered outside of the entrance to A Novel Idea now, he hesitated. Maybe Rae didn't want to see him again? Maybe their time apart had given her further cause to push him away, to see the truth of who he really was - a lowlife, good for nothing loser who wasn't good enough for her. Hell, he had no doubt in his mind her mother had likely poisoned her further in that time, lying and manipulating the blonde.
But in the end, none of that mattered to Flynn.
Nothing felt more important to him now than protecting Rae, and while he could lie to himself and insist that staying away was his way of doing just that, he knew it wasn’t the truth. The time would eventually come when someone else – somebody new, somebody kinder, better looking, and far more deserving of Rae – would come along and catch her eye, see through her mother’s lies, and start the cycle all over again. Nothing would keep her safe other than for her to be away from that dreaded woman, and Flynn would let them beat him to an inch of his life if he had to. She deserved the truth.
With his hood firmly over his head, shielding customers from the unsightly view of his broken, bruised skin, his signature denim jacket wrapped firmly over the hoodie, he kept his head low as he sidled into the coffee shop. He knew that Rae still worked there – he'd be lying if he said he hadn’t been religiously following her every instagram update, his chest aching at the sight of her wide smile as she cosied up next to people she’d never seen before.
Glancing up at his surroundings, Flynn frowned. The store that he thought he’d known so well had undergone quite the makeover, with paper hearts dangling from the ceilings, flowers blooming in every corner, a harsh pink glow to the business as light bounced off the array of new decor that seemed to fill the space. He shoved his confusion aside and focused on the matter at hand, his heart stilling in his chest as he glanced up, gaze landing on Rae.
She was deep in conversation with somebody – an older gentleman that Flynn didn’t quite recognise – and she looked... happy. She was laughing with him, a veritable glow surrounding her as always seemed to be the case, and for a moment Flynn wondered if he’d made a mistake coming here, disturbing her peace. But he couldn’t turn back now, not when he’d come so far.
Closing in on the counter, a chalkboard full of puns sat square on the wall, serving as their backdrop. Drinks such as You Mocha Me Crazy and I Love You A Latte were scrawled on the board, perfect doodles surrounding each pun that he knew Rae must be responsible for. Anxious, he shoved his hands into the front pocket of his hoodie, and cleared his throat, by way of announcing his arrival.
The older man was the first to look up, attention caught immediately, and Flynn immediately felt himself undeserving of the smile he directed his way. The full weight of it seemed to knock the air from his lungs, and he couldn’t help but feel that Rae was surrounded by exactly the perfect people for her.
“Uh, hey. Can I get a... Don’t Worry, Be Frappe-y, and also a side of wholly undeserved forgiveness?” Flynn asked, tugging his hood down, and smiling sheepishly across the counter. The man looked confused now, his brow arched in askance, but Flynn only had eyes for Rae.

I mean some girls often stan good looking guys in hopes that they'll get to date them, but most of them just are just in awe with their looks or personality, talent and factors like being happy knowing the person they stan is single and is into girls, I am no one to speak on behalf of a whole fandom, just describing what I think. I kinda get the intention behind teenage fangirls not being interested in Noah anymore, some of them tho, Iike I imagine some being upset about it, it's just me tho.
I think.. I think I get what you're tryna say but yeah it's just their choice as long as they don't turn on him for being gay. I remember had a huge crush on Brandon Flynn after I watched first few eps of 13 reasons why then I found out he's gay I was like okayy let's say I was a Lil upset even tho I knew I would never get to date him if he were straight or bi or anything so I think I get what you're tryna say.

HEART'S PRICE - CHAPTER 33
Tumblr media
*Warning: Adult Content*
Noah Hunter leaves.
His brother, Alpha Dane Hunter, can make whatever excuse he wants for Noah’s unexplained disappearance and if he has an excuse for what he said and did, Noah doesn't want to hear it.
He doesn't want to hear whatever Julian Hart has to say for himself, either.
Fae identity crisis or not, he was the first person he trusted enough to tell about Thomas Flynn and he promptly went and broke that trust.
As for Ambrose Thorne, Noah knows if he sees the darkening mark on his cheek and the pain on his face...
Well, Dane might be doing a great impression of an asshole at the moment but he's still Noah’s brother and he want him in one piece.
So, he dusts myself off, swallows the emotions threatening to reveal themselves in tears and in the most mature and dignified manner imaginable, he runs away.
His wallet and car keys are in the house, though, so like a real hero he runs away on foot.
The bookstore is only a short walk from the house, thirty minutes, if he hustles but he takes his time and gets there in forty-five.
He’s not scheduled to work but he figures Shanti won't mind.
She doesn't seem to mind much, in fact and Noah still haven't figured out how she manages to keep her store open with one part-time employee and a weak stream of customers.
However she does it, he’s grateful, grateful for the cool, book-scented aisles, the intriguing array of strange, rare titles and for Shanti herself.
Her gentle demeanor and river-incense perfume have a calming effect on him and her soothing presence has become something he can rely on.
She looks up when he enters and her eyes go right to the fresh bruise.
Dane hadn't hit him all that hard, really but any blow from a guy that big is bound to hurt.
"Noah?" she asks, coming around from behind the desk for a closer look at him.
"I did not expect you so early. Are you all right?"
Today she's wearing a long, green dress made of loose folds of fabric and it seems to flow around her like moving water.
Her dark hair falls down her back like a shadow and when she lightly touches the side of his face, her fingers are cool.
"Just a little family argument," Noah answers, shrugging.
"No big deal. I thought I might as well come in and get an early start, if that's okay."
She nods.
"A new shipment of books has arrived. You can help me to unpack them."
"Sure," Noah agrees, turning away self-consciously to interrupt her study of his face.
"Where do you want them?"
"Anywhere there is room." She makes a sweeping gesture with her hand.
"It does not matter."
"Okay," he shrugs and get to work.
He tries to place the books next to something similar, a related topic or title but Shanti is right, they're all random and obscure,and the shelves are so disorganized anyway, it hardly matters where they end up.
Noah has just finished stuffing a book of love potions next to a volume containing over a hundred uses for spider's webs, when the door jingles and the first customer of the day wanders in.
He hears Shanti's pleasant greeting and a murmured response that sounds like a question and turns his attention back to his work.
It isn't until a shadow falls over him and he turns that Noah realizes the customer isn't a customer after all.
Julian Hart stands at the end of the aisle, looking pale and miserable and chewing the corner of his bottom lip.
Noah turns back to the shelf as his chest and face heat with anger, the rush of blood making his cheek throb with fresh pain.
"Julian, you are the last person I want to see right now," he says, keeping his voice quiet and low.
"Please go away."
"I'm sorry, Noah," he whispers.
"I didn't mean to tell him. It just... happened."
Noah scoffs.
"I'm sure you'd be fine if I ‘just happened’ to break your trust, huh?"
"No," he replies, still in a whisper.
"I'd be pissed as hell, and I'd never want to see or speak to you again."
"Sounds about right."
"Noah, please... Will you let me explain?"
Noah bites the inside of his cheek and then turns towards Julian, doing his best to convey a cold glare.
"Sure, Julian. Go ahead and explain."
Julian’s eyes go to the mark of Dane's hand and Noah hears his quick intake of breath.
"Shit. He said he hit you but I... I didn't really think..."
Noah covers the mark with his hand and turns away from him again.
"Well, go on," he says.
"Explain. Tell me why my brother knocked me on my ass and expelled me from his pack. I've had plenty of arguments with him over the years, Julian, some pretty violent ones, if you recall but he's never turned it into something physical before. So, tell me what's different this time."
Julian sniffs.
"Can we go somewhere else?"
‘No.’
There's silence and then Julian sighs again.
"This is all my fault."
"You think?" Noah returns, glancing at him and with some satisfaction, sees him flinch.
Julian pauses and swallows, hugging himself tight.
"The tea was working," he says softly.
"At least until last night."
"All right, what happened last night?" Noah prompts, turning his attention back to the books and making a pretense of straightening them.
Even more quietly, Julian goes on.
"Dane and I were... Well we were... getting 'intimate' you know. It was... more intense than usual, somehow. My whole body felt alive, lit up inside and then... Well, then I freaked."
"You freaked?" Noah repeat , frowning at him over his shoulder.
"What does that mean?"
Julian frowns back at him, a little of his usual spark returning to his eyes.
"It means I had a fucking panic attack in the middle of sex," he snaps.
"I lost it, scared out of my fucking mind by the thought of what might happen and Dane had no idea what he'd done wrong. I didn't know what I was saying and by the time he got me calmed down, I'd told him all about you and that Thomas guy and how much I wanted to help you prove the truth and all kinds of shit. Everything except... Well, everything except what's really wrong with me," he finishes with a wince.
"Nice," Noah drawls.
"So you sacrificed my confidence to keep your own. That's what makes you such a great friend."
"Noah, I'm sorry..."
Noah sighs.
"Fine. So maybe that explains why you told him. It doesn't explain what happened this morning."
Julian rocks back and forth on his heels, still hugging himself.
"Dane's pissed," he says.
"He feels like, as Alpha, he's supposed to take care of you and he can't do that if you don't trust him. He's not used to feeling powerless. Plus, he's worried about you, scared that you're vulnerable and unprotected and that Thorne's preying on that. He'd meant to talk to you about it, warn you to take things slow and then this morning he saw that it was already too late. And when you told him we'd been to Faerie, he realized you weren't the only one hiding stuff. He snapped because he's afraid, Noah. He's afraid for you and then you confronted him with the thing he fears most about me and... I guess it just pushed him over the edge."
Julian takes a step closer and rests a careful hand on Noah’s arm.
"He feels awful, Noah. We both do."
"I don't," Noah says, surprising myself.
"You know, Dane told me that there's always a place for me here, a place in his Pack," he shakes his head.
"Well I don't want it. Not if it's something he thinks he can take away from me every time I piss him off or if I have to buy it with blind loyalty. I'd rather be alone. I'd rather be with Ambrose."
"Noah, he didn't mean that. Of course you're Pack, you'll always be Pack. He..."
"No," Noah shakes his head again.
"When Dane Chose you, you became Pack. Well, I've Chosen Ambrose and until he's Pack, too... neither am I. In the meantime, I suggest you tell Dane the truth because until you do, this..." he gestures at Julian.
"Isn't going to resolve itself and I'm done helping you."
Noah walks away from him and gets back to his work and a moment later he hears the chimes on the door ring softly as Julian leaves.
Noah stays late and it's nearly evening by the time he says goodbye to Shanti and head home.
By then, the mark on his face has faded to a light discoloration, barely noticeable against the caramel tone of his skin.
He might not heal as fast as some Wolves but half a day is plenty to hide a bruise.
Again, he takes his time, walking slow.
Unlike that morning, though, when he'd been too wrapped up in a confusion of pain to notice much else, he enjoys the fresh air, the slanting golden light of the early autumn sun and the scent of dry earth and hot pavement, interrupted now and then by a cool breeze carrying the aroma of the nearby forestland.
Dane's words and actions and Julian's betrayal, conscious or not, still sting but not as much as before.
He might not have a pack but he has a home and someone who loves him and for now, that's all he needs.
As he approaches the old house, Dougal runs to meet him, barking a happy greeting from the other side of the low brick wall.
Noah stops at the post box and opens it, pulling out a handful of mail and turn to open the little gate when an irregularly shaped envelope escapes the rest of the bunch and falls to the ground.
It's small and brown, the size and shape of a greeting card and Noah notes with surprise that it's addressed to him.
He hasn't updated his residence anywhere official yet and he can't think of who might send him something in the mail.
There's no return address and Noah’s is printed on an adhesive label rather than written by hand.
Curious, he tears open the envelope and pulls out the folded piece of paper within and then nearly drops it again in surprise.
It's from Thomas Flynn.
He scans it quickly and a weird, sick feeling lodges in his throat.
Noah, Please forgive me. I'm not a well man. I've done terrible things, and I know that I can't undo all the harm, but I'd like to try. Meet with me—please—and let me explain. I miss you, and I miss what we had together. Give me a chance to put things right, while I have time. Repentantly yours, Thomas.
Below Thomas’s name is the address of a local bar and the words...
‘Tomorrow, 2 pm.’
Noah stares at the note for so long, the shadows have noticeably lengthened by the time he looks up from it again.
If he hadn't already received one 'Sorry, I'm sick and didn't mean to' apology today, he'd have torn the note to shreds, fed it to Dougal and then mailed it back to Thomas in the form of a shit.
Instead, he folds it into a little square and tucks it in his pocket, lets himself in through the gate and walks up the path to the house.
The whole way, he has an unsettling feeling of being watched.
He doesn't know what he intend to do, yet.
For one thing, there's the question of how Thomas knows where he lives.
Then, there's the matter of what he wants and why.
Maybe he's telling the truth and he's really had some life-altering change of hear, but Noah trusts that about as much as he'd trust a stone not to sink.
Then again, the very idea that Thomas imagines he'd even consider speaking with him, after what he did...
Noah lets himself in the front door and notices that two unfamiliar pairs of shoes are arranged on the rack.
Voices drift from the library on his left, one of which belongs to Ambrose but the others are as unfamiliar as the shoes.
Noah sneaks past and makes his way upstairs, not at all prepared to pretend to be sociable.
In Ambrose's room...’their room’... he falls back on the bed with a sigh, rubbing the little bump of the folded note through the fabric of his pocket.
He can hardly judge Julian for keeping secrets from his Mate, when he’s keeping secrets from his, after being mated less than a day.
Noah resolves to tell Ambrose everything, as soon as they have a moment to themselves.
In the meantime, he pulls out his cell-phone and opens his contacts.
There's one person who's always had his back, no matter what.
The only problem is, he hates to ask a favor because Noah knows it will be recalled in the most humiliating, juvenile way imaginable.
It can't be helped.
He sighs once more, commit himself to some unknown, future torment and calls his sister, Freya Hunter.

“Where are we going?” Y/n asked as she noticed stuff tied up to the back of his motorcycle.
“You’ll find out.” Noah answered handing her her helmet with a mischievous glint in his eyes that did not go unnoticed by Y/n.
“Noah…” Y/n whined with a smile giving him her best puppy dog eyes, trying to get him to spill.
“You’ll find out soon enough.” Noah smirked knowing she’ll love what he has planned. At least he hopes she does.
After a short ride, they finally got to their destination. Y/n looked up at him with a look of confusion and adoration. They live by the beach, he couldn’t tell her that, she thought? “The beach? You couldn’t tell me we were going to the beach?”
“Today is full of surprises.” Noah smiled down at her laughing at her words.
Noah layed out the blanket he packed and then unpacked everything else. The couple ate and laughed just talking and enjoying their time together. It was a cute little date, they even got to watch the sunset in some beautiful shades of orange next to the fire Noah had built them.
“This was a great date, Noah.” Y/n told him leaning her head on his shoulder, looking up at him through her lashes.
“It was, wasn’t it.” Noah smiled back in agreement but also in knowing. Knowing that he was gonna make the night even better in a minute.
“I love you, Noah Flynn.” she smiled leaning up to kiss him on the cheek.
“I love you too, Y/n Y/l/n.” he stated kissing the top of her head before shifting the position they were in so he was kneeling in front of her instead. “There is something I still need to do before we leave.”
“An what’s that?” Y/n questioned with furrowed brows.
“You have been the love of my life since we were kids. I pinned after you for years but you never noticed.” Noah took a deep breath and pulled out the ring he picked out for her months ago. “So, I had to finally just come out and tell you. Very bluntly, might I add. We’ve been together since sophomore year, and we’ve been in college for 2 going on 3 now. I don’t see my future without you in it. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?” he finished looking at her with love and nerves. Waiting for an answer.
“Yes! Of course! Yes!” she answered with a huge smile upon her lips, with happy tears welling up in her eyes.
“I love you, future wife.” Noah said as he pulled her into a kiss after slipping the gorgeous ring on her finger. Sealing their soon to be fate.
“I love you too, future husband.” Y/n smiled looking at him in the eye’s admiring the man she fell in love with and would one day soon marry.

18+ MINORS AND THOSE WITHOUT AGE IN BIO DNI

I sat in the chair Jenkins had brought into the annex, knees tucked up to my chest as I looked over the information Cassandra had brought in. The clippings book lay open on her most recent mission. It had been quiet since she got back. Everyone finally had a moment to relax. The pain in my gut made me lean my head against my knees. A soft hand on my back made me breathe out shakily.
“I’m ok.” I said, lifting my head to meet jenkins’ eye. “I’m ok.” He nodded as Flynn came bounding into the room.
“Hello.” He said, smiling at Jenkins and kissing me on the cheek. I gave him a shaky smile as Jenkins withdrew to his section of the table.
“hi.” I whispered as Flynn perched on the arm of the chair. “What’s got you back so soon? Thought you were still looking for the library.” He shrugged as he tried to get me to lean into him. Instead, I winced and got up quickly. Realizing my mistake, I wrapped my arms around myself and hurried off to the bathroom. I could just hear Flynn ask Jenkins what was wrong with me.
“they’ve been in so much pain they’re nauseous.” I heard Jenkins say. I made it to the bathroom and pulled the trash can closer just in case. I inspected my jeans as I sat on the toilet, willing everything to stop. I frowned when I saw a patch of red on my underwear and slowly shuffled my way out of the soiled garments. Opening the door under the sink, I smiled to myself to see the replacement pairs the annex knew I needed.
“thanks.” I whispered to the empty room. After the pain and nausea had passed, I left the bathroom and made my way back. “Sorry.” I muttered as I took up my previous position. Flynn wrapped his arms around me from behind and kissed my head. Jenkins smiled softly at me and left the room.
“I’m going to say it aloud. Since we both know it.” Flynn started. “I don’t have much experience with this. My relationships never really turned this serious or lasted long enough that I…” he cleared his throat awkwardly. I rubbed his hand where it rested on my collarbone. “Jenkins filled me in. Why are you still working here if you are in that much pain? Go home. I would have come to you.”
“everyone else needed me.” I responded. “Jake is checking into something on his own. Ezekiel needs someone to stop him from stealing every priceless artifact. Cassandra…” I trailed off. “Jenkins always needs help cataloging and researching. Eve went off looking for you. And you…” Flynn kissed my head. “Someone had to be here to keep the light burning.”
“we’re going home.” He said softly. “Come on. Jenkins already fixed the door.” I took his hand and stood up slowly. “You’re going to have to help me through your routine and making sure that you feel ok. But I’m willing to do whatever it takes to help.” I nodded as Flynn set the dial and our apartment appeared on the other side of the door.
“thank you.” I muttered as Flynn and I walked through, being forced to bed as soon as we closed the door. Flynn kissed me softly again before running off to get whatever it was Jenkins had told him would help.

The second movie honestly killed all inspiration for me for Noah and what little inspo i might have had for Marco as well. And I’m sure the third movie will kill it completely stone dead. Lol So i hope you like this!

You were too sweet for your own good sometimes. Noah knew this as he took another swig of his beer as he watched you animatedly chatting with some random dude. Who couldn’t be bothered with what you were actually talking about instead he had just been staring at your tits for the past twenty minutes.
And Noah was starting to feel jealous. Which was ridculous he knew that you loved him and that you were already prone to talking someone’s ear off when you got excited about something; and that tendancy gets cranked up to an eleven when your drunk. But nonetheless, he was jealous and it was high time that he squashed this guy and let him know who you belonged to. He took one last dreg of his beer and put it down on the countertop before he made his way over to you.
The guy you were talking to, noticed Noah immediately as he approched the two of you, and put his hands around your waist.
You let out a little gasp that he immediately felt in his dick. And you turned your face to his, giving him a big smile. “Noah!” you beamed at him.
Oh yeah, you were most definitely plastered.
He placed sweet kisses on your neck and you let out a soft moan. He was definitely hard now.
You seemed to break away the spell that Noah was weaving as you snapped back to attention and smiled. “Noah. This is my new friend, Jacob! I was just telling him about this new series of books that I just finished!”
“Oh yeah? And what does Jacob have to say about them?” Noah sneered behind your shoulder.
“I- I” Jacob stuttered.
Noah knew Jacob didn’t hear fuck all what you were telling him and that pissed him off further. That pang of jealousy grew in his chest at the fact that you even wasted a breath on this idiot let alone twenty minutes when you could have been with him, Noah would’ve held onto your every fucking word. Fuck, your the only reason he’s even read anything this past year.
Well Noah is going to fix that little mistake, maybe teach you a little lesson that the only one who is worthy of your time and your wonderful energy was him. He smirked to himself as the idea formed in his mind, he kissed your neck again and he could feel the shiver run down your spine. Oh no, you would certainly be pliant enough for him to steal you away.
“Well Jacob I’m sure you were absolutely wonderful company when you could actually meet Y/N’s eyes.” Noah snapped and Jacob knew he’d been busted, he would deal with him later but for now, he wanted you desperately to mark you up and remind you who you belonged to.
You furrowed your brow at Noah’s comment but he didn’t give you time to speak as he said goodbye to Jacob and pulled you closer to his chest to lead you away from the party and up to his room. Let Lee and El deal with the mess, he’s got more important things to take care of tonight.
By the time Noah had gotten you upstairs, plying you with kisses on your neck, jaw and sucking your earlobe as he whispered dirty things into it; you were a giggling mess as you flopped onto his bed. A sight he revels in every time he sees it; and one day he swears he’s going to keep you there.
Noah comes closer to the bed and puts his hands on your thighs, and you ceased your giggles to watch as his hands trail up your thighs.
Noah let out a low hum. “I love you in my bed.”
“Oh yeah? You planning to have your wicked way with me, Noah?” You giggled, still too drunk to sense the danger you’re in and how he was planning on doing exactly that and then some.
“You seem to forget that you’re already in my bed, Y/N.” He purred as he leaned over your body and placed a chaste kiss to your lips. Before you felt the grip of his hands on your thighs tighten and pull you harshly towards him. “I can do whatever I want with you.” He smirked as you pulled him back down to your lips, giving him a deep and passionate kiss while Noah worked on the button and zipper of your jeans. But not before he rubbed his fingers against your clothed core, the tight denium rubbing against your clit in a delicous manner.
“Oh button.” Noah moaned. “ I can already feel you growing wet through your jeans.”
His fingers, pressed harder agaisnt your core, eanring a low moan from you. “Please Noah please.” You begged so sweetly that Noah was simply itching to give you what you want and rip off your clothes and bury himself inside of you. But he had a plan.
“What do you want, button? You have to use your words.”
“Touch me please.”
Noah chuckled. “ I am touching you.”
You whined and thrusted your hips up into his hand. “Without my clothes.” You whimpered.
“You’re so naughty, baby. Alright. I’ll give you what you want, becuase you asked so sweetly.” He said kissing your neck before he finished undoing your zipper and yanked your pants off, finding that your were bare underneath your jeans. “Oh, you really are a naughty girl.” He groaned as his thumb went to your swollen clit and rubbed small circles, watching in delight as you writhed underneath his minstrations.
Noah sucked marks into your neck and collarbone as he pushed two fingers into you, make your back arch as he curled them in a ‘come hither’ motion. “You going to come for me already?”
“Noah.” you moaned.
“Come for me princess. Make a mess of my fingers and show me that you’re all mine baby.”
His words were enough to push you over the edge and Noah felt you deliciously clench his fingers as you came undone under him. He stroked you softly through your aftershocks, watching as you slowly came down from your high.
“Are you ready for me, button?”
“Yes, Noah please.”
You didn’t need to say anything else as Noah pulled his fingers out of you, and began to strip and you doing to the same. Quickly ripping off your shirt and watched as Noah pulled off his jeans and boxers before he was completely bare to you. His cock was hard and resting against his stomach as he came back closer to the bed. He admired you the same way you were admiring him, as if it was the first time again.
“You’re so beautiful.” He purred, crawling up your body, lavishing you with kisses as he positioned himself at your entrance. In the next moment he was inside you, filling and stretching you out.
***
You didn’t know how much time had passed nor how many orgasms Noah had pulled out of you since you started. What you did know is that you had grown oversensitive after the third one, but Noah hadn’t stopped. He had you on your hands and knees now; stomach pressed against the bed as he thrusted mercilessly into you, lavishing your back and shoulders with kisses and harsh sucks that you knew would leave marks all over your body; and you had a feeling that Noah wanted it that way. He whispered soft and dirty things in your ear as he thrust into wildly, hopefully meaning that he was close to his own release and he would release you from this sweet torture that you had no idea why he was inflicting on you in the first place.
You felt tears start to fall down your cheeks at your approaching orgasm and how the barrier between pain and pleasure was becoming blurred, with each new orgasm.
“Please Noah!” You cried. “I can’t take anymore.”
“Yes you can baby.” He kissed your shoulder. “Do you know how upset I was that you were wasting your time talking to that idiot when you could have been with me?”
“W-who?” You moaned out as his middle finger went back to your clit earning another fresh batch of tears from you.
Noah chuckled. “Doesn’t matter now sweetheart. But I want you to remember this that I am the only one who deserves your attention, your love.” He said sucking on your other shoulder until he was happy with the mark he left there. “I hate sharing you with the world, button. Nobody deserves your love but me. And nobody, nobody can make you cry such beautiful tears like I can. So remember that the next time you decide to give your attention to someone else.”

When he opened the door, i saw a Jacob with his hair messed up, the jacket only hooked on one arm and he was so tired that he couldn't even take the keys out of his pocket.
y / n: hey-I whispered stroking his cheeks-hard day?
Jacob: You can not imagine, it seems that I have shot the titanic in a single day.
y / n: Let's go upstairs- you hugged him and separated a little-and you, to the shower
Jacob: only if you come with me-He wink while smiling at his dimples.
*********************************
Jacob went into the bathroom while you took out the sheets for the bed, you were stretching them on the pillows until- "y / n"
Ty/ n: yes? -Asked on air
Jacob: I've been waiting 10 minutes for you, come on, come with me-I bet whatever you want He was pouting.
Ty/ n: okay, now I'm going
As soon as you open the bathroom door, a heat overwhelmed you, but it was a pleasant sensation, you undressed under the watchful eye of the boy and entered the shower to end up surrounded by big arms.
Jacob hugged you hanging on his chest as he let his head fall on your shoulder, your fingers began to caress his brown hair while your other hand caressed his back, he felt like he was in heaven, it was a strange feeling like A warmth in the chest, clearly what he felt was love, because none of his previous girlfriends had cared about him like this, waiting for him awake, you leave small kisses on he’s chest when sleeping,caresses his hair when he is tired, ask him if he has eaten and what such is his day, all those little acts made him fall in love.
And by God, who wouldn't fall in love with him? He is attentive and at parties he always has an eye on you, when he sleeps he hugs you if you have nightmares or fear of storms, he will caress your back until you fall asleep, he kisses your cheeks all the time, if by chance in the day you have not seen the tea will make a video call to see you.
This is how you both felt, as if the other were a break from reality, a safe place.
after the shower you both dried and put on your pajamas, the shirtless man and his boxers and you with one of his big shirts and shorts.
As you lay in bed he hugged you and you hid your face at the point between his shoulder and his neck, both falling slowly asleep.

Part 1
Summary: (Y/n) and Lee are best friends but Lee warns his brother away from her, she’s been through a lot and her mental health is suffering. Lee thinks Noah is only going to make (Y/n) worse after what she has suffered, but Noah can’t stay away from her and (Y/n) feels drawn to him.
Enjoy.

Tumblr media
"Lee, it's fine, trust me. It was just a kiss and it wasn't as if he knew it was gonna be me walking out there." (Y/n) linked her arm through Lee's as they slowly made their way into the sea of students dispersing out to the car park ready to go home.
(Y/n) knew her best friend was trying to sound nonchalant and as if everything was okay about the kiss but she could see that inside he was fuming. He was angry his brother had gone and kissed his best friend, in Lee's mind Noah could have done something different, he could have made some excuse or taken (Y/n) back behind the curtain. He could have done something to stop it from happening, especially when he knew how much being in the booth would have made (Y/n) anxious.
Lee just wanted to make sure that it didn't embarrass or make (Y/n) feel uneasy, he knew she used to have a crush on Noah to have him be her first kiss can't be easy.
"You sure? I mean, I told him to stay away because you're not interested-"
"Stop blabbering, just forget about it okay, it's over and done with." (Y/n) knew she would eat her words soon enough because she wasn't telling Lee the truth. It wasn't over and done with because the kiss meant something and both she and Noah knew it. But Lee was persistent and he wanted Noah to stay as far away from (Y/n) as possible, if she told Lee that the kiss meant something and that she didn't want Noah to stay away from  her it was only going to to cause arguments that none of them wanted to deal with. It was better to keep Lee ignorant and in the dark for now.
"Right, are we heading home?" Lee started to guide them both over to his car parked over to the left but (Y/n) lightly shook her head causing Lee to pause in his stride to his car. "Do you want a lift somewhere else?"
"I think I'm gonna take a walk into town."
"You sure? Cause I can drive you there or we can go to the arcades if you want some company." Lee's lopsided smile made (Y/n)'s heart drop to her stomach. Here he was trying his best to help her and offer support and companionship so she didn't have to be alone and she was going to lie to him and refuse his help.
Lee had been her strength when she didn't have any, he was her guiding light when she got lost and he was there through everything when he didn't have to be. (Y/n) would never be able to thank Lee enough for everything he did and continued to do for her so lying to him was very hard and it was something (Y/n) had never done before. But if she wanted to be with Noah, lying to Lee was something she was going to have to do a lot more often.
"I'm sure, I want to be out on my own for a while. I'll call you later, promise." (Y/n) nodded reassuringly at Lee so he didn't start to panic or think something was wrong because nothing was wrong.
There was hesitation in Lee's eyes and he could feel his heart hammering against his ribs because he didn't want to be that overbearing friend that didn't trust (Y/n) or always assumed the worst or assumed that she wasn't okay or able to be on her own. But he couldn't help but panic about her when he knew that she didn't want to be on her own after Andrew died, (Y/n) had always either been home with her dad or round at Lee's place because being on her own left her with her demons. She let her thoughts get the better of her when she was on her own and it allowed her to panic freely without control.
But Lee had to trust her.
He had to trust that (Y/n) knew what she wanted to do and knew how to take care of herself and when to let people help her if things got too much. When she had her breakdown last year she let people help her willingly because she didn't want to suffer. If anything like that were to happen again he knew she would ask or let help be given to her.
"Alright, just don't do anything I wouldn't do."
"So, basically do everything then." (Y/n) shrugged her shoulders with a playful grin when Lee's jaw dropped and his head started to shake with a small laugh leaving his lips. He pointed at her warningly before he headed to his car and (Y/n) turned on her heels to start walking down the path away from school.
She couldn't meet Noah on school grounds because people would see and if Lee saw or found out all Hell would then break loose. (Y/n) made her way out of school grounds and started to round the corner near the playing field before Noah's dark silver car rolled up beside her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Lee thinks I'm going to hurt you." The small smile that Noah wore on his face was one that didn't hide the concern he held in his eyes when he looked at her.
"Lee thinks that about everyone." (Y/n) slowly dragged her fingers through the sand, tilting her head down so she could watch the grains of sand fall through her fingers rather than look at the expression on Noah's face as he sat beside her on the beach. There was something so calming about the feeling of the sand falling through her fingers, it was like (Y/n) could imagine that the sand was her worries and insecurities and she was letting them slip away and disappear.
"Do you think he's right?"
"I mean, everyone is bound to hurt you at one point or another, whether it's on purpose or not. You might hurt me, Lee might hurt me, I could hurt either or both of you. If someone is close enough to hurt you it means they're special."
(Y/n) knew everyone hurt someone at some point in their lives, she would end up hurting Lee and so would Noah if they decided to make a relationship out of this behind his back. Lee could always do something that would hurt (Y/n) and so could Noah, but if they did something that really got to her or cut to her core then it meant they were close enough to her to hurt her. It meant they were special, and if (Y/n) tried to stay away from everyone she thought would hurt her then she would never have anyone close to her.
"My mum hurt me when she died, she was special to me." (Y/n) stopped running her fingers through the sand when she felt Noah's hand resting over her own.
"I want to be special to you, (Y/n), but I don't want to hurt you."
"I don't think you could hurt me, Noah Flynn."
There was something sad in (Y/n)'s eyes that made Noah feel his heart dropping to his stomach like a stone. It was as if (Y/n) thought he couldn't hurt her because she had been hurt too badly already, like she was a china doll that had already been dropped and smashed and couldn't be broken into any further pieces. Her mum had died and shattered part of her and then Andrew passed away and broke what little there was of her left. If Noah did hurt her (Y/n) knew it would barely scratch the surface and that in turn, hurt him.
"I hope not, you're far too special to risk breaking, (Y/n). But if we're going to do this, we can't tell Lee which means, not telling anyone else either."
"I know Lee's protective but you really think he'll be this upset?" Part of (Y/n) wanted to tell Lee because keeping secrets from her best friend was tiring, just lying to him today was more than (Y/n) wanted to handle. She couldn't imagine how she was going to feel when she had to start properly lying to him about going out and being with Noah.
She knew Lee would be angry with them for wanting to get into a relationship but she didn't know if it was worth all the sneaking about.
"(Y/n)... when we were younger I promised Lee I wouldn't get close to you, he wanted something, a friend, that was just his. Then I promised him I wouldn't go near you or try anything with you because he thinks I'm going to break you. If we tell him Lee will be the one to break."
"Okay, Lee doesn't know. You know he's just looking out for me when he says he thinks you'll break me, don't you? He doesn't think anything bad of you, he thinks he has to protect me from myself."
(Y/n) leaned her head forward so she could rest her cheek on Noah's shoulder before she reached across and took a chip from the bag resting on his lap. She hadn't eaten lunch at school but she was starting to get a bit hungrier now, a reason she knew Noah bought the chips and put them so close to her.
She wanted Noah to know that Lee didn't think badly of him, despite the fights and the arguments he always got into, Lee didn't think his brother was a bad person or a brute or someone who was dangerous. He thought it was his job to keep (Y/n) safe and sane and calm and he thought that if Noah got involved it would break the foundations that had taken so long to repair. It was more that he thought Noah would unsettle everything around (Y/n) rather than hurt her break her.
"I know my brother acts more of a keeper around you than a friend at times, he's hiding you away like you're allergic to the sun. He doesn't have to worry about protecting you all the time, you don't need protecting, especially not from me."
"That's not fair." (Y/n) took another chip from the bag and popped it into her mouth before she tilted her head up to look at Noah. There was a small, calming smile on her lips showing Noah she wasn't about to get angry or start a fight. "Lee saw me at my worst, Noah, he doesn't want to see me like that again, he's just trying to help. I wouldn't have got through last year without him."
"I guess it just bugs me sometimes, Lee warns me your fragile like I'm gonna storm in and crush you or something... I saw you that night, you know?"
"When?"
"I was driving mum to town when your dad called, about Andrew. We turned the car around, she called Lee and we headed over to your place... I stood in the doorway to your house, watched your dad struggle to get you downstairs and I wanted so badly to just take you in my arms and hold you. But then Lee appeared and the moment you saw him, it was like you knew everything would be okay. You let him take you downstairs and sit you down, you let him hold you and cry with you and I thought... why can't I do that? Why can't I help you or help someone like Lee?"
That scene was something Noah replayed over and over in his mind when he found himself lost or confused or stuck in a bad place.
He remembered that day like it was happening in front of him right now. Noah remembered his mother hitting him repeatedly to get him to take the next turning and go to (Y/n)'s house rather than drive her into town. He remembered seeing his mother sobbing for the first time as she called Lee and said something had happened to Andrew.
Noah drove all the way to (Y/n)'s house and stumbled up the path with his mother but when he got one foot inside the house he felt like he had stepped into another dimension. Noah saw (Y/n) screaming at the top of her lungs, he saw her dad fighting to get her to stop trying to go back to Andrew's body. They were almost falling down the stairs, one trying to go down and the other trying to go back up. And in that moment, the only thing Noah wanted to do was run up those stairs and pick (Y/n) up, he wanted to take her in his arms and carry her somewhere safe.
He wanted to hold her and tell her he was there and it was okay, she could scream and cry all she liked and he would just sit and hold her through it all. He wanted her to let out the storm raging inside of her and be able to say that he was the one who would help her. Noah had never helped someone like that before, the most he had done was help an elderly man in the shop. He wanted to do more than that.
He wanted to know that he could do more than just have flings with girls and play sports or have good grades. He wanted to be a good person and help in a way that counts.
But Noah only got to stare at (Y/n) in distress before his little brother came in like a force of nature and changed the atmosphere in the house. Lee bypassed his mother and his elder brother and made a beeline for (Y/n) when he spotted her. The hazel floppy-haired boy ran up those stairs like he was running a marathon and once he got to (Y/n), Noah saw it.
Noah saw the change. (Y/n) had been in so much distress but once Lee was there, that was it. She wrapped her arms around him and let him take her weight, (Y/n) let Lee effortlessly guide her down those stairs, both of them sobbing messes. He took her to the sofa and sat her down and held her like he was glue holding broken pieces together to fix her. Lee let her sob into his neck, he let her scream and hit him and fling her limbs all over the place but he calmed her down without saying one word.
Lee never said anything for the hour that he sat and held (Y/n) but it worked, just his presence calmed her down from a state that mimicked psychosis. Noah had never been jealous of anyone before but in that moment, he had been green-eyed with jealously of the ability his little brother possessed to help someone- to help (Y/n) like that.
"Lee didn't know what he was doing but he did something right... I hurt him Noah. He talked me down from a ledge, he stopped me from doing a lot of stupid shit and he sat there and let me cry without any answers for me, there isn't any manual on how to help someone like that, Lee did that all blindfolded. But Noah Flynn is different, he didn't hold me when I screamed, he ran in and defended me at school when someone started talking about Andrew or asking why I was a prude. You don't have to hold me when I cry in order to help me Noah."
(Y/n) knew over the past year she had pushed Lee to his limits without meaning or intending to do so. When she felt like jumping off the ledge and doing something rash Lee sat calmly and patiently and talked her down and brought her back to safety. When Andrew died Lee held her and calmed her down and cried with her. But Lee did all of that without a manual, he didn't know what he was doing or if what he was doing would help. That was what made him so special to (Y/n).
With Noah it was different but in a good sense. He didn't hold (Y/n) when she was in distress or watch her cry, he protected her from everyone else whereas Lee protected her from herself. Lee made sure she didn't do anything stupid and when (Y/n) first went back to school someone started asking about Andrew, where he was, why he wasn't there and they were trying to rile (Y/n) up because news spread fast when he died. Noah didn't think twice before he barged in and tackled the guy down to the ground.
When someone else tried to ask (Y/n) on a date and then said she was a prude, a stuck up fly on the wall who didn't hardly speak, Noah broke his nose and gave him a black eye for his trouble and almost got himself suspended in the process.
"Well whatever happens, I'm always gonna be here for you." Noah leaned his head down to steal a kiss from her lips before he took one of the chips and placed it between his teeth. He turned his head in her direction, smiling when she kissed him and bit down, eating half the chip resting between his teeth.
Noah wasn't sure if (Y/n) knew Lee had told him about her not eating, but right now, she seemed to be fine with him. Maybe he was having a good effect on her after all.
Face Painting (Noah Flynn x Reader)
Tumblr media
A/N. This is such a silly idea but it was in my head and I decided “screw it, I’m gonna write it”. So yeah. Here you go.
Requested: Nope
Word count: ~1600 words
Warnings: immature teenage boys, I think that’s it
PLEASE REMEMBER: I do not take requests anymore, so please do not send me any.
Enjoy :)
The carnival was in full swing, and crowds of students and families were wandering from booth to booth, giving clubs their money and playing fun and rigged carnival games. (Y/n) had a small line of people in front of her booth, mostly the younger siblings of her classmates, and couples who weren’t interested in the kissing booth two stalls down. The art club was doing a face painting booth, which made sense for them. She was working the booth from 8:30 until 9:30, and so far she had earned forty-five dollars, and she was only halfway through her shift. Things were going well.
She was in the middle of drawing a tiger face on a twelve year old’s face when she felt her clubmate Alyssa nudge her side. “Hang on,” she mumbled quietly, her tongue poking out the corner of her mouth as she finished tracing the last of the tiger stripes. Her friend continued to poke her in the side. She smiled at the little girl sitting in front of her and held up the mirror. “What do you think honey?”
The girl grinned. “I love it!”
“Awesome.” (Y/n) smiled. “Have a great night, enjoy the carnival!” She waved as the girl and her mother walked away. Once they had disappeared into the crowd she looked over at Alyssa, who was grinning and continuing to poke her side incessantly. “Oh my god what is it what do you want?” She laughed.
“Noah Flynn is in line!” Her friend was all but bouncing in her chair. “And Tuppen!”
(Y/n) raised her eyebrows and turned to look at the lineup of people, catching sight of the tall football player and his friend. “What are they doing here?” Her eyes widened when she saw an entire group of football players approaching them. “Alyssa, why are they all heading over here?”
Alyssa shrugged. “Maybe they want their faces painted.”
(Y/n) scoffed. “There’s no way that’s it.”
Her friend shrugged, and they both watched the group of athletes make their way towards the front of the line.
“Ladies,” Tuppen winked. “Flynn here would like to get his face painted.” He slammed his hand into the taller boy’s back, suppressing a laugh.
Noah scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Let’s just get this over with.”
“Of course.” Alyssa smiled at the two of them, while (y/n) rolled her eyes behind her friend. “But before I get you settled, would you mind if I ask what you’re all up to?”
Tuppen nodded with a smirk. “Anything for you lovelies.”
“Why are you all here to watch Noah get his face painted?”
“Well,” the broad football player rolled his weight onto his back leg, “Flynn here raised the least amount of money for our team, so we need you to paint this.” He handed (y/n) a piece of paper.
Her eyebrows darted up as she looked at the picture on the piece of paper. “You want me to draw this on Noah’s face?”
All the football players nodded, snickering.
She blinked, pursing her lips and looking down at the drawing in her hands. The boys wanted her to draw a series of penises on Noah’s face. It was juvenile and stupid. “You know this is a school fundraiser right? I can’t draw a bunch of penises.”
“A bunch of penises?!” Noah snapped, grabbing the piece of paper from her hands. “Are you fucking kidding me dumbasses?”
Every one of his friends laughed again.
(Y/n) sighed and shook her head. Teenage boys were idiots. “I’ll come up with something else to draw. Noah, give Alyssa five bucks and then sit down.”
Noah Flynn shrugged and walked towards Alyssa, who was waiting near the money box to take his cash. While he was distracted (y/n) opened the design book, flipped to the page she wanted, and showed it to the football players. “How is this instead of all the dicks?”
They all burst out laughing. “That’s perfect!” Tuppen handed her another ten bucks.
Noah came back and shrugged out of his leather jacket before sitting down. “Let’s get this over with.”
(Y/n) tugged her hair back into a ponytail and grabbed her face paints, sitting down across from Noah. The two of them were in a couple of the same classes, and (y/n)’s younger brother was on the football team, so she and Noah were on a friendly basis. They weren’t particularly close, but they had talked enough that she knew he was at a sports camp over the summer and asked him how it was. They chatted while she got her face paint together.
“Close your eyes and hold still okay?”
He nodded and shut his eyes. “So, how’s your night going?”
“Pretty good.” (Y/n) held his chin with her left hand and brushed a line of paint along his forehead. He tensed. “Sorry.”
“It’s fine.” He smirked, eyes still closed. “Did you get the chance to walk around before you had to start working?”
She shook her head, continuing to draw on his face. Noah’s eyebrows raised, and he cracked one eye open. “Did you?”
“Oh!” She felt her cheeks heat up. “Sorry, no I didn’t. But it’s okay.” She shrugged, then tapped his eyebrow with her brush. “Eyes closed please.”
He stuck his tongue out, closing his eyes again. “You didn’t have anything you wanted to do while you were here?”
“No not really.” She grabbed a different coloured pencil. “I was gonna pick up some kettle corn from my mom, but it’s okay.”
It took her almost thirty minutes to finish drawing, and the two of them chatted the whole time. (Y/n) had forgotten how friendly he was, and how charming. It was a reminder of why so many people had fallen for him over their three years in high school. She had never really found herself crushing on him, in spite of how kind and friendly he was. She wasn’t a big fan of the womanizing jock personality. He was pretty handsome though.
When she finished she couldn’t hold back a smile. “Alright, all done.”
Noah sighed, pursing his lips. “Show me the penises.”
(Y/n) bit her lip, holding back a chuckle. “It’s not penises.”
“Really?” He asked. She held up a mirror, snorting as she watched his eyes widen.
“Tuppen what the fuck?!”
The blond appeared, smacking both his shoulders. “It looks fucking awesome! Time for a picture.”
Noah turned his glare to (y/n), who was unable to suppress a laugh. It was hard to look intimidating when your face was painted to look like a giant rainbow butterfly covered in glitter.
His eyebrows raised, and he smirked. “You think this is funny?”
The entire football team was laughing a few feet away, and (y/n) took a deep breath, suppressing a giggle. “It’s funny Noah.”
“Oh it’s funny?” He asked, the corners of his mouth tightening as he struggled not to laugh himself. “You think it’s funny?”
She nodded, pursing her lips. “Mhmm.”
“You look fucking hilarious Flynn!” One of the other players shouted. “Thanks (y/n).”
Tuppen patted her on the back, hard, and she stumbled forward a step. Ow! Son of a bitch that hurt.
“Hey.” Noah’s playful smile dropped and he tensed, taking a step forward. “Watch it Tuppen.” Somehow he really could look threatening even covered in glitter and pink paint.
The other boy shrugged and walked away, looking unphased. Apparently Noah threatened his teammates frequently enough that it didn’t phase them anymore. (Y/n) watched them walk away, a little concerned.
Noah shifted his weight and turned to look back down at her. “When does your shift end?”
“In half an hour.” (Y/n) studied him. “Why?”
He shrugged. “No reason. See you around.” He waved, and (y/n) watched a little longer than she probably should have before she turned her attention back towards the line.
“I’ll take the next customer over here.”
(Y/n) was just finishing packing up the booth and grabbing her bag when she heard someone coming up behind her. “Sorry, we’re closed.”
“Damn, that’s a shame.” (Y/n) turned to look over her shoulder and saw Noah standing there, bag slung over his shoulder, face still painted. He smirked. “I was hoping you could add some more glitter.”
She laughed. “What are you still doing here?”
He held out a bag of kettle corn. “The kettle corn booth closed fifteen minutes ago, and I was already getting a bag for Lee so...” He shrugged. “Here.”
“Thanks.” She took the bag from him, flashing him another friendly smile and forced down the flurry of butterflies in her stomach.
He scratched the back of his neck and shifted his feet. “Hey, uh, I was wondering if you needed a ride home?”
He eyebrows raised. She hadn’t been expecting that. She didn’t know what she was expecting, but not that. “With you?” She asked stupidly.
He laughed. “Uh, yeah. With me. On my bike.”
She blinked. “Um...”
He bit his lip and took a step back, rubbing the back of his neck. “Sorry, forget I said anything.”
“No!” Her eyes widened as the words burst out of her mouth. “I’m sorry, I just wasn’t expecting you to ask me that. That’s all.”
He raised an eyebrow. “So… do you want a ride?”
She should say no. She knew what people said about girls who ended up on the back of Noah Flynn’s bike. It was his first step to getting into a girl’s pants. But… he was being really nice. And it wasn’t like he was asking her out or anything, he was just offering her a ride. What was the harm?
“Okay,” she nodded. “Yeah I could use a ride home.”
Noah grinned. “Awesome. Follow me.”
HEART'S PRICE - CHAPTER 22
Tumblr media
*Warning: Adult Content*
When Noah Hunter calls his brother, Alpha Dane Hunter the following day and tell him of his near miss, he asks almost the same questions Ambrose did...
‘What did he see?’ and ‘Are you sure the driver meant to hit me?’
The first answer is the same, being 'not much' but the second has changed.
With the fear and excitement long faded, he’s far less certain than he was.
“I don't know,” Noah says, scuffing at the dry lawn with his foot.
He’s outside and under the bright sun his tale of creepy feelings and vehicular assassins seems even less plausible.
Maybe Ambrose is right and it was just your everyday, average asshole in a hurry.
"It was dark and I was wearing dark clothes. Maybe they didn't even see me."
"Maybe," Dane agrees.
"But I know you, Noah. You're level-headed and you don't make shit up. If you think someone was stalking you and that someone tried to run you down, I believe it. But it's possible the two are unrelated."
"What do you mean?" Noah shifts his cell-phone from one hand to the other and kicks Dougal's tennis ball away.
He pounces on it and brings it back, dropping it at Noah’s feet.
"Well, the way you tell it, it sounds like two separate things, someone followed you by the lake and someone else tried to hit you with their car. One or both could be related to the case. One or both could also be something else.”
"Like what?"
Dane hesitates a beat and goes on with a careful tone.
"Look, I don't want to press you on shit you don't want to talk about, Noah but I have to ask. Is there any reason someone might have followed you here? Any reason someone might want you dead?"
Noah kicks Dougal's ball away again and again he brings it back.
He really isn't supposed to run yet, with his injuries still healing but he's one of those dogs who will drop dead of exhaustion before he has enough of chasing a ball.
It's cute but annoying.
Noah?" Dane prompts when the silence gets too long.
Of course he'd thought of Thomas Flynn.
He'd basically told Noah to die, after all.
At the time he'd thought it was just an expression of Thomas’s loathing for him or of himself for having had sex with him but now he was not sure.
Maybe Thomas really expected Noah to take his advice and kill himself and because he hadn't, now he meant to finish the job.
Noah couldn't imagine why, though.
He'd gotten everything he wanted.
He'd won.
Moreover, he wasn't a violent man.
Noah wasn't so naive as to think Thomas wasn't capable of murder, given the right set of circumstances, nearly everyone is but  he didn't think it was something he'd do except as a matter of utmost last resort.
More importantly, if Noah admitted that Thomas might want him dead, then Dane would want to know why and he'd have to tell him something.
He didn't want to lie but he wasn't ready for his brother to know the truth.
"No," he says at last. "There's no one."
Dane makes a noncommittal noise, obviously unconvinced but he doesn't press.
 "Alright. But if you think of anything, tell me. And call me right away if something like this happens again. I wish you'd called last night I would've come over and  sniffed around, if you know what I mean."
‘Dane must be out in public somewhere or else he'd be more direct.’
"Where are you?" Noah asks.
"Are you, er, working the case?"
Dane huffs out a breath.
"Not exactly. I just needed to get out of the house a bit. Julian's, I don't know. He's been a bit odd lately. I can't quite explain it."
"Is he alright?" Noah asks, worried the poison might've had some lingering effect after all.
"I dunno," Dane grunts.
"He's all, shiny and fuck. Must be a Fae thing. I dunno," he says again and sighs.
"Er, right."
Noah is not sure what else to say and a silence falls.
"Listen," Dane says after a pause, all business once more.
"I've been thinking about Thaddeus Barker, about how he disappeared during his party and no one seems to have a clue where he's gone. I'm thinking, maybe he never left."
"But  the police searched his house, right?"
"Yeah, I searched it too. But you said you heard something in the wall, right? We weren't able to find any sort of hidden doors or passageway, but I'd like to look again and I'd like to bring Ambrose Thorne this time for observation."
"What? Why?"
"Because I think there's shit he's not telling us," Dane growls.
"I'm sure there is," Noah retorts, feeling suddenly defensive and thinking of what Ambrose had told me about Jack.
"But that doesn't mean it has anything to do with the case or is any of our business."
Noah hears Dane take a breath and can almost see him scratching his head or his jaw as he chooses his words.
"You're right," he says, "But I can't afford to make assumptions either way. Look, I'd like to have you come along as well, you're better suited for, uh, exploring small spaces but I'll understand if you want to step away on this one."
"Step away?" Noah repeats.
“Yeah. You know, if you don't think you can be objective, if there are feelings involved."
"F-Feelings?" Noah splutters.
"What kind of feelings?"
Of course Noah knows what Dane means and it doesn't help that he looks up and sees Ambrose walking towards him from around the side of the house.
He's wearing a white v-neck tee with blue denims and his long hair gleams dark red in the sun.
Ambrose waves and smiles, seeing Noah is on the phone and as he bends to greet Dougal and ruffles his ears, the young man’s heart does a weird tripping thing in his chest.
Ever since the night before, when he'd stood so close and Noah’s senses had been filled with him, he'd been struggling to think of anything else.
Turning his back on him now, Noah hisses into my phone.
"I don't have feelings, Dane. I'm fine. Just tell us, tell me, when to be there."
Dane pauses and Noah get the sense he's weighing whether to take his younger brother at his word or take him off the case but at last he says only,
"Tomorrow afternoon, four o'clock."
"Fine. I'll see you then."
"Good. In the meantime, Wolf or not, stay out of the fucking woods and don't go out after dark on your own."
"Fine," Noah repeats.
"I won't."
He hears Dane sigh again.
"Good. At least I know you listen better than Julian does," he says.
The rest of that day and the next pass without further incident.
Ambrose is surprisingly enthusiastic about returning to Barker's house, his only complaint being that they haven't done so sooner.
"I'll be very surprised if we find Thaddeus living in some secret room, though," he tells Noah as they drive over there to meet Dane.
"He has an almost pathological need for attention. I doubt he'd be able to stay out of the spotlight so long, even if his life depended on it."
"Maybe the news coverage has been enough," Noah suggests.
Thaddeus' disappearance has gotten a lot of attention over the past few weeks, stoked and sustained by gossip and salacious details of his hedonistic lifestyle 'leaked' to the press by his numerous acquaintances, including past and present lovers.
These last seem to come in every size, shape, color, sex and gender and Noah has to admit that, if nothing else, Thaddeus spreads himself around equitably.
"Maybe," Ambrose concedes.
But in my experience he needs to be in the thick of things, the one directing where the spotlight shines."
"How old was Thaddeus when he took part in the ritual?" Noah asks, as the architectural abomination of his house comes into view.
"Oh, thirty-two, I think."
"How's he managed to be so, er,  'active' for all this time? Wouldn't someone notice a guy who doesn't age?"
"Mm," Ambrose intones and nods. "So they would and they have, from time to time. Thaddeus generally fakes his own death in one way or another, has some plastic surgery done and then re-emerges with a new name and a new face but the same old game."
"Could that be what he's done now? Vanished from his own party, Bilbo Baggins style?"
"Possibly," Ambrose allows.
"He has no real regard for anyone but himself, and I wouldn't put it past him to take advantage of the situation, except for the portrait. Unless..."
Noah follows Ambrose’s train of thought and restrains a gasp.
"Unless Thaddeus himself is the thief. You think maybe he's done all of this, just to disappear?"
Ambrose remains silent while he pulls up and parks beside Dane's vehicle.
He cuts the engine and then they sit a moment before he speaks again.
"It's a curious thought, I admit," he says,
"And it fits with Thaddeus' style. But I think if he were behind it, he'd put himself last, you know? The big finale, the last curtain call. More than that,  I never got the sense he has anything against the family. In fact, of all of them, he may be the most enamored of his gift able to glut himself in his vices without a care or a thought for his body, soul, or reputation. No..." he concludes, shaking his head,
"Whoever's doing this hates the Oakfields and Thornes with a deep passion, hates them specifically for what they are, and for what they did, all those years ago."
"I don't suppose there's any use asking who might fit that description?" Noah asks.
Ambrose turns to look at Noah, a surprisingly somber look on his face.
"There's only two I can think of, who hate them so. One is dead, and the other..." he quirks a brow and gives me a crooked smile.
"Well, the other is me."
With that Ambrose opens his car-door and steps out.
Noah follows, mulling this over.
Dane peels himself away from his car, where he's been leaning with his arms crossed and walks towards them, offering Ambrose a grim-faced handshake.
Ambrose accepts it with his usual smug humor.
He's neither as broad nor as tall as his brother but Noah has no doubt he's at least a match as far as strength of will is concerned.
Dane might have him beat when it comes to brawn but I'm pretty sure there's no contest in the brains department.
"Detective Hunter," Ambrose says, letting the burr of his accent roll his tongue a little more than usual.
"A pleasure, as ever."
"I'm sure," Dane answers, dropping his hand.
Dane is intense and pure-hearted but these qualities also make it difficult for him to hide his true feelings.
To compensate, Dane tends to wear what Noah can only describe as his 'cop-face.'
It's not a particularly friendly expression.
From the slightly sardonic curl at the corner of Ambrose's mouth, Noah can only guess what he might be thinking of it now.
"Brother," Dane says, nodding at Noah.
"Thank you for coming."
"Of course..." Noah trails off as the passenger-side door of Dane’s vehicle opens and Julian steps out.
‘Dane wasn't lying but shiny is an understatement. Julian Hart is radiant. He is moonlight and amethysts, diamonds and velvet, shadows on snow, he is roses and silk. He's...’
"Well now," Ambrose Thorne drawls.
"And what, pray tell, do we have here?"
