Hello to all my new followers from Twitter :)

If you're new here (or just coming back and trying to remember how everything works), here's a few quick tips!

Likes mean basically nothing in terms of engagement on Tumblr, so if you want to boost a post, reblog it!

Same with replies - they're great for interacting with ppl but they don't really do anything to boost a post. Reblogging is the only way anybody who follows you will see the stuff you like.

If you reblog a post and add tags, everyone can see them - including the OP.

Reblogging is NOT the same thing as reposting. Reblogs are good - use them!

Tumblr doesn't really have an algorithm. All the posts on your dashboard are chronological based on the ppl you follow. You can into settings to toggle this and customize what you see - I recommend turning off the "Based on your likes" feature.

Blaze posts are posts that users have paid to be promoted on everyone's dash. Sometimes they're weird, sometimes they're funny. Sometimes, it's just an artist trying to boost their art a little bit more!

Tumblr collects almost no information about its users. This is why ads are not really targeted and why there's no true algorithm - bc tumblr doesn't know who you are! This is a good thing and we like it that way :)

Your blog has a queue. You can use this to queue up reblogs and posts, and tumblr will post them automatically for you based on a cadence and time frame that you determine. So if you're worried about spamming followers with a flood of reblogs, use your queue instead!

You can make individual posts on your blog private, and then unprivate them at a later time if you wish.

Don't censor words here! You will not get shadowbanned for discussing sensitive topics (another great thing about not having an algorithm). If you're talking about something heavy, put a CW/TW in the tags!

We also have community labels now, for things like mature content, violence, etc. Make sure to use them when needed!

Artistic nudity is now allowed on tumblr (as long as you use the community label for it). However, porn is still technically banned.

Please, please PLEASE put some content on your blogs so we know you aren't a bot :)

Watching Ash’s journey end on Pokemon has me remembering a quasi-SI fic that I was talking about with a friend for AGES.

It was one where the MC ends up in the body of the female protagonist of the Black / White pokemon games like 2 days before they’re set to get their pokemon. At FIRST they’re like “Oh wow this is great! I finally get to live the dream of being 10 and having UNLIMITED power via my legion of SWORN FRIENDS. I can’t wait to live in a Pokemon world! I love it-”

Then her mom services her a Miltank steak and suddenly she has a whole ETHICAL crisis. Like POKEMON ARE NOT FOOD THEY’RE SENTIENT WE CAN’T EAT THEM OH GOD. Like it’s just been hand waved away in the canon of the show / games but there are plenty of dex entries about how delicious certain pokemon are.

So she’s like “I am now a militant vegetarian.” and picks Tepig because well...he’s a pig he can sniff out truffles right? That’ll be useful for living a vegetarian life from now on. There is a lot of “Oh god, am I becoming PETA?” and “I’ve become what I most feared in my previous life, a Militant vegetarian” sort of comments all the time.

She considers becoming okay with it and then sees adverts for a ‘Togepi omelette’ and is just like BRB going to go cry in the woods for the next 6-8 hours.

While she’s in the woods she runs into N and the entire plotline of the B/W games gets thrown off because she’s just like “Hey, do you wanna help me find delicious non-pokemon alternatives for food?” and N is so immediately on board with that that he’s already forgotten that Team Plasma exists.

The thing is MC is so fucking weird. She has no idea about the actual customs / cultures of Unova and she seemingly changed OVER NIGHT but N has no fucking idea about that. Everyone he’s ever met in his entire life were either pokemon or Team Plasma so he’s just like “Yeah she’s normal.”

Meanwhile Cheren and Bianca are just like “This SCOUNDRAL has brainwashed our BFF” because MC was just living her life as a blank slate and then one night just “How can you eat that?! That’s not FOOD that’s a MILTANK!” erupts from her house.

It’s not until waaaay later when Team Plasma grunts are just like “WHAT DID YOU DO TO LORD N?” that they think oh wait shit maybe she brainwashed him?

N’s just happy to have such a nice friend who shares his passion for Pokemon rights.

guys maybe aaron wasn't dejected and trying to stay distant from his team because of a pact with andrew or because he hated them. maybe he was just taking organic chemistry and had to study really, really hard. that class is difficult!

idk about yall but one of my most ever favorite aftg headcanons is that Andrew is really good with kids, and in the future when Aaron and Katelyn settle down and have kids, their kids will absolutely adore "Uncle Andrew", and he'll happily suffer through whatever sort of play the kids want to do with an as genuine and un-menacing smile on his face as he can manage, whenever he and Neil (and Kevin) come to visit

HC that Nicky struggles with chronic depression and Erik is the only one who sees how dark it gets. When Nicky doesn't feel the need to clown around for an audience he just crumbles.

Ever since I came out as nonbinary, my mom's favorite joke to make is that I'm her favorite child, bc she can never get in trouble with my siblings for it since now my sister is her favorite daughter and my brother is her favorite son.

her second favorite joke is that she's collecting kids of all genders, like Pokémon 👍🏻

In the future when Andrew and Neil are happy, in love and married, Andrew would often use divorce as a threat. He is of course not serious. He won't say out loud that they are forever. 

But Neil felt in the way he would sometimes stare at him unblinking, soft, unguarded. The look that says: “Nobody will take me away from you and nobody will take you away from me. I will hold onto you with legs and arms and if I lose those I will use my teeth, I will be feral, I will be brutal, I will let out the monster they thought of me to stay with you.”

Anyway he usually threatens Neil with divorce, whenever Neil is impossibly irritating. He of course knows Andrew doesn't mean it. And Andrew exists in a perpetual state of irritation because of that. On one hand he likes that Neil realizes they are serious and Andrew will never walk away.

On second hand, Have dare Neil not take his threat seriously??? How dare he roll his eyes and scoff with a smile??? How dare he dismiss Andrew with a wave of hand and “yeah yeah sure darling”????

That being said, it irritates Andrew so much that he decided to do something about it, to wipe that smirk off Neil’s face.

And now whenever Neil and Andrew are arguing and Andrew threatens with divorce the next day Neil is forced to do the shame dance of calling their lawyer and being like 

“No, no, do not process that petition for divorce Andrew sent you. I know he wrote in his email that this time he is serious. Yes I know he wrote that he is “Serious serious SERIOUS” I know he wrote that three times and this is something he doesn't usually do. I know. He also sent you second divorce papers this morning? in fax??? we don't have a fax machine??? … no, no, don't process these documents either.”

All while Andrew sits nearby, looking at him smugly in silence.

just watched Breakfast On Pluto (2005) for the first time and it was beautiful 10/10. but more importantly now I can't stop thinking about Kevin watching it and being completely destroyed by it, just a sobbing shaking mess,, like it's about an Irish transgirl that's never met her mother or known her father but desperately wants to and spends the movie searching for them and is finally found and saved by her father in the end,, tell me that that wouldn't break Kevin Day
