So I very much have the men suck mentality and I never want to get married. I have reasons behind this specific to my family. Almost every marriage I have been exposed to the women are miserable and they suffer and subsequently their kids suffer (and yes I am included in this) and it is the husbands that are making everyone miserable.

However, my grandparents were the definition of love. Each brought kids into the marriage and then they had another 5 kids together (8 in total) and they were together for years and years and years. My favorite story is after my grandfather retired he joined a social group purely because my grandmother was apart of it and he wanted to spend more time with her. And my grandmother was pissed because she said that was her thing to spend time away from him but he was just happy to be with her and see her and spend time with her. The group didn’t even matter to him.

So my only exception to the men suck and I will never get married is if I find someone like my grandfather who will love me no matter what after years and years and years and will still want to spend time with me (even if it isn’t something he wants to do)

I love that the doctors choice in friends is brilliant, kind, will sacrifice themselves for the universe, compassionate to a fault, and his type in romantic partners is I carry a GUN and am INSANE and have committed untold WAR CRIMES

everyone always commenting on how sweet percy is for dropping super romantic comments about annabeth, or their cutest moments together and funniest convos. and don’t get me wrong, i’m just as much a sucker for those as you guys are

but for me, it’s the little things that show how much he loves her that makes me so obsessed with them. like in chalice of the gods, he borrows her hat to complete the quest and afterwards, he puts it back to her size for her. it such a small thing to do - something annabeth likely won’t even notice - but it’s so effortlessly thoughtful. not to mention that despite how rushed he was when he put it on, he paid attention to what size it was for her much smaller head.

annabeth is a strong, determined, intimidating - many even say scary - young woman. and percy knows that better than anyone. but like… he takes care of her. he takes cares of her in both big ways and little ways that no one ever has for her, i just- UGHHHGH
