People have brought it to before but im still obsessed with the fact that Holby staff actually live in or around the same town and surely bump into each other outside of work. Home For Christmas (760): My first advent calender fic! River/multiple Doctors, mainly 13.

When The Doctor Comes To Call (696): One of my first River/13 oneshots but a bit of River/11 thrown in.

When the Wind stands fair (489): My first River/13 multi-chapter and library fix it.

World Enough, And Time (485): A pretty elaborate River/13 fic in which River had a child with 12 on Darillium but hidden it from him and gave it to Vastra and Jenny before heading to the library. Only, the baby gets kidnapped and 13 is the one who deals with the fallout.

5. Do you respond to comments?

Absolutely! When someone took the time to comment, it's only polite to at least say thank you!

I think probably Drowning and Fracture.

Almost all of them have happy endings, I couldn't possibly pick!

Not really, thankfully.

Yes. .... occasionally... spanning quite a range of femslash.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Yes, though I wouldn't call them crazy. I like writing AUs of other worlds, i.e. Liv/Helen versions of Chess, Bodyguard, Lord of the Rings, Tár, Hijack, London Has Fallen... But actual crossovers would be writing Happy Valley/Collateral together (cause it just makes sense!). I also once wrote a pretty mad crossover of multiple Big Finish ranges (8DA, Gallifrey, UNIT, DoRS, War Master...) and put them in the Land of Oz so that was fun.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don't think so and hope it stays that way.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No. I could translate them myself into German but don't really see the point when most people read English anyway.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yeah, done quite a few with @calunalilly now, like our most recent project, a Doctor Who-Lord of the Rings AU :D Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

Liv Chenka/Helen Sinclair. There is no contest. 179 of my fics are them and will continue to write for them!!

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Years ago I had started a Liv/Helen Hogwarts AU The Shape Of Things To Come but as it's since become unacceptable to engage with that content anymore. I doubt I will get back to it sadly which is a shame cause I hate leaving something unfinished but alas.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue I think? Seems to flow very easily but action too, I think, when I want to take the time for it. I'm always surprised afterwards with how exciting it is :D

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Writing enough grounding around the dialogue. I have to remind myself to do that half the time.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

If there is a point to it, sure, but not just to show off you speak multiple languages lol.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Harry Potter.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

That's a tough one... there are a lot I am very proud of for different reasons.

A Numbers Game for probably being my biggest achievement to date in terms of length and complexity. I spent so much time on that fic and love it!

What The Future Holds packs such an emotional punch, I cried writing it. And it's the only way I can make sense of the ending of Stranded and fix it properly.

The Bodyguard and the following sequels just work so so well as an Alternate Universe, I'm super happy with how it all came together and it just works.

But I think, overall, my favourite thing I've ever written and that I'm proudest of is Romance In D Minor. Just in terms of how well it's written, I've really thought about it, structure, pacing and it's just- Yes. It's the one.

Hey how are you what are u thought on last night episode

Hello!

I thought Casualty last week was good - the car pile up was done really well, and really impactful. After Teddy's recent storylines, it was nice to actually empathise with him again and feel sorry for him. Loved Iain and Jan caring for him. Although, pls can we get more of Jacob.

Although other than the action scenes, I thought maybe they tried to stuff too much plot into 1 episode (?) Especially as it's main focus should be Charlie.

Stevie's story felt very skipped over (annoying because Elinor's performance was amazing). Mel and Harry's storyline was rushed and easily forgotten about, and they brought Zoe back for her not to really do much to be honest :(

The ending was good, but I think we can all remember 5 or 6 Casualty/Holby cliffhangers where a character is stabbed and then the credit's roll, so it didn't really feel fresh or original.

I'm excited to see how they deal with Charlie's exit, as it's a huge moment for the show, but unfortunately I just felt the episode on Saturday went over way too much and ended up not giving things the time they needed

I will always love the show though and it's going to be a sad end of an era with Derek not on our screens anymore!

Don’t know if anyone else has seen but instead of going on IPlayer after they air on Saturday night, Casualty episodes are going on IPlayer at 6am now which I don’t know how I feel about. (They also don’t seem to be leaving IPlayer after a year anymore!)

I wish I could pretend I’m joking when I say that I will probably start waking up really weirdly early on Saturdays now, especially if episodes have my favourite characters. So that’s not great for me but on the other hand, if I watch Aftershock at 6am I might get over it in time to spend Sunday doing my last minute before the deadline essay writing after all.

This is gonna sound silly but I do wonder how this will affect the fandom? If there’s anything I miss from 2018 Holby-blr it’s that a lot of people would post live reactions as the episodes aired and people already don’t really do that as much in the Casualty fandom (I know they do it on Twitter but I very rarely agree with anyone on CAS Twitter) but now it’s like, if people do watch it early then the reviews won’t even be coming in at the same time (she says, as if she didn’t regularly post her reviews multiple days late).

Bernie knows where home is now.

I know I know....

Zoom, Booze, no Doom - Belated Anniversary

Hello everyone,

here we go - finally there’s time and energy to say:

Happy Birthday, Berena fandom Zoom!

“I’ve actually never watched Holby,” I confessed at one point, while already part of the fandom.

“We should do a Berena group watch with the fandom friends,” @danceswithcows01 mused.

Soon after everyone was more or less advised to stay at home and a virtual group watch didn’t seem so weird anymore and we started

Zoom, Booze, no Doom

- a weekly Saturday evening meeting for everyone who wanted to see our two favourite doctors pining, kissing and being loveable idiots.

The initial plan was to stop after “For Eternity”, and sure, we did stop the first rewatch at that, but we still all stayed home most of our time.

So we met a week after and watched Silent Witness. Inspector Lynley. The Grid. What The Butler Saw. Doctor Who. Berena again, doom included. The Cazalets. Bramwell. Serena’s Holby scenes. By now there was a list of what we watched to keep track of things.

Me, doing something almost every Saturday for two years in a row? Honestly, I don’t know how that happened. It’s still great fun though. Something steady in curious times, even if life gets back to be a bit more normal again.

I’m also pretty sure that the Zoom has changed how this fandom interacts with each other. Which is great to see, sometimes even in person.

I should stop my musings now though, before you all go TL/DR on me. 😅

Let's all rejoice while we can, because this is the second week in a row that Faith Cadogan has been completely absent from Casualty! Okay, now that I've celebrated that, I'm going to talk about my thoughts. I don't know how much detail I'll be able to go into, because I'm very tired and I don't feel well today, but I'll try.

I thought tonight was very good! It centred on a lot of my favourite characters - even if it did, sadly, have no Jacob - so that was great as well.

Max gets more reminiscent of Henrik by the week! They're so similar it isn't even funny anymore. Being mean to get people to leave him alone, refusing assistance when he needs it, etc. And that's not even getting into the whole absent father thing.

Despite all of this, Max mostly endeared himself to me more tonight, even if he wasn't being nice much of the time. He's such an interesting and complicated character and I'm so sad he'll be leaving so soon. I'm also very sad that his backstory, at this point, will probably just get a bit of quick exposition and then be forgotten about like Gaskell. Sigh.

Nigel Harman's performance was brilliant as ever, and Anna Chell and William Beck acted very well alongside him too. I loved how Dylan stood up for Jodie and expressed how worried he was about Max. It was great to see Dylan get something to do tonight.

Also, tonight reminded me that I hope Casualty lets Dylan be a dad someday. It feels like the right progression of his character arc.

Although, now that I remember, wasn't there supposed to be a conversation about Donna? Did I miss that? Again, I'm very tired so I might have done.

Speaking of brilliant characters that remind me of Henrik, Stevie was great tonight as well. I loved how kind she was to Kofi. I thought that was handled so sensitively and done so well, and without asking the audience to pity him, which was good. I hate it when shows try and invoke a pity response like that. Sympathy is one thing, but pity is another, and I thought tonight made that distinction so well.

I also thought the parallel between her and the man with apparent PTSD was interesting. It reminded me a bit of the scenes on Holby where a porter picked up on Luc's PTSD because he knew what it was like himself.

Rida is lovely, Rash is lovely, their scenes together are lovely. What more can I say? I love their interactions. They're great together, even if the thing about Rida having left the door open at the flat earlier felt a bit contrived as a reason for Rash to worry.

Since when is Teddy and Paige's engagement back on? I don't get why it's back on. It just feels like they're staying engaged not for character reasons, but for 'making the show more dramatic' reasons, and that frustrates me.

Next week, it seems we're going to have to put up with Faith again. Sigh. Not having her around was nice while it lasted.
