Rabbit rabbit, Happy August! Here's all the Art Fight drawings I drew in July. :D As per usual my goal was to whatever characters looked interesting, with no particular theme or care any for team in mind. I like to use Art Fight as an excuse to draw characters I normally wouldn't. My comfort zone is furries so while I did pick an draw a few of those, I also drew feral bodied characters and what Art Fight calls "Simple Shaped Characters". Which I feel like is sort of a misnomer, because I find characters that don't rely on anatomy I can reference outside of what their creators have drawn to be a pretty big challenge! I wanted to take the time to hit a few of my faves, which I made sure to do, and mutuals too. Beyond that I spent most of June looking up key words that interest me on Art Fight's Tag Search [ "neopets", "90s", "rainbow", "thylacine", "stars", "worm on a string", among many others] and bookmarking anyone that looked interesting. I then saved all the refs of people I wanted to draw with the character ID in the file name. One step I didn't do this year that I will for sure have to do next year is to then double check those IDs once the event actually stars. Lots of people hide their characters last minute, right before the event starts! Or say they will participate and then don't. Which is okay, it just means I need to be better about checking next time. This meant I drew two attacks that couldn't be submitted to the site [And a third that when I messaged the person saying, "oops I drew a hidden character of yours where would you like me to send you the drawing?" they un-hid the character for me. So kind!] but I've included them here anyway. I think 18 [plus one sketch I didn't get done in time] is a pretty admirable number of attacks considering we also had a two hour move this month, and some events to attend!
Just like last year I learned a lot! Last year the chief lesson I walked away from Art Fight was speed. I am not, and have never been, a quick artist, but in 2021 I was a "It takes me several days to finish a sketch" artist. I used to be very persnickety about that step of the drawing process and it soaked up a lot of time. Through wanting to be as efficient as possible with only a month to participate I learned to use my sketch a way to just get the idea for the drawing down to be refined as I go, instead of getting a "perfect" sketch down. Made me a much more efficient artist! This year I really had the "finished is better than perfect" mantra I've been trying to use drilled into my head, as I attempted to tackle anatomy and poses that where very unfamiliar to me. Particularly simplifying anatomy into something more cartoony makes figuring out what markings go where a challenge. But it doesn't matter! I'm not getting graded, and this is for fun. Should this spot be over here or should it be a smidge to the left? Slap it in between the two points and move on. Finish your art!
👊 ArtFight. https://artfight.net/~viva_la_topknot   👊  Other ArtFight attacks.🎨 General art tag.

~ “I have you whipped baby girl and I love it.” He bites your neck as he slips his hand in your panties.
~ “God damn you are soaking wet (Y/N).” He pulls his hand out of your panties showing you his hand completely covered in your juices. (Like I said a fucking puddle)
~ He licks your juices off his hand.
~ “Oops.” You say not so innocently. “What can I say you turn me on so much Satoru.” (But who wouldn’t be that way like seriously!)
~ Satoru's hand travels back down into your panties.
~ Inserting two fingers making you moan out as the thrusts them in and out of you.
~ He kisses you one last time before trailing his lips down your torso again, making you shudder.
~ He nips and kisses your inner thighs while he continues to pump his fingers in and out of you.
~ Every little touch is leaving you breathless as he works up every part of you.
~ He wants to make your body beg for him.
~ He finally decides to take your panties off tossing them on the floor.
~ He pulls back marveling at how beautiful you are right now. (He always does this when he gets you completely naked he worships your body)
~ To him you are perfect in every way possible.
~ He loves to lightly touch your most sensitive parts making you squirm beneath him. (Like lightly run his fingers down your sides or gently grab at your butt, it drives you mad how just a simple touch turns you on so much)
~ He finally goes down on you encircling his mouth around your clit as he fingers you again.
~ Instantly you cum squirting into his mouth.
~ He keeps licking your clit getting every last drop from you.
~ “Satoruuuuuu!” You cry out in pleasure as you grind on his face, tugging on his soft white hair.
~ Your head rolls back into the mattress as he continues to finger you going deeper with every push.
~ He nips at your clit making you squirt again.
~ “F-fuck Sa-to-ruuuuu!” You cry out in pleasure.
~ He finally comes up with a huge smirk plastered to that gorgeous face.
~ “I think that is the wettest I have ever made you baby.” He says smugly before he kisses you deeply.
~ He bucks his hips pushing his bulge against your wetness.
~ Your hands move down tearing his pants and boxers down.
~ He gently rubs his tip at your slit teasing you. (This man could edge you on for hours without even realizing what he is doing to you (yet))
~ You moan out as he continues to tease you making your body tremble beneath him.
~ “You don’t get him quite yet baby girl.” He whispers into your ear slipping just the tip in.
~ “You’re so meannnnn!” You wine out as you smack his arm.
~ “Don’t worry love he will be in you soon enough, but first” He traces your lips with his thumb. “I want you to use that amazing mouth on him.”
~ He stands up and you get on your knees.
~ You lick the pre-cum off slowly sucking the tip as you look up at him. (That turns him on so much when you look him in the eye while sucking his dick)
~ You keep looking at him as you deep throat his entire length taking him by surprise. (He's not the only one giving it their all tonight)
~ You continue to lick and suck deep throating him every so often making him as hard as a rock.
~ “F-fuck (Y-Y/N-N).” He moans out as you go faster while you play with his balls.
~ You suck him for a while, he finally pulls you off.
~ “Baby girl I could have you suck him all night, but I want you so badly now.” He says eagerly as he throws you on the bed.
~ You wrap your legs around Satoru. “I’m ready for you to take me Satoru.” You whisper into his ear.
~ He has made sure over the past few months as the two of you have explored each other that you were ready for tonight because you knew Satoru wasn’t going to be gentle, but you want it that way.
~ He kisses you passionately as he slips in.
~ Moaning into your mouth as he fits inside you feeling the tightness of your pussy makes him shudder.
~ His kisses go from long and passionate to sloppy and needy as he snaps his hips into you.
~ He didn’t realize just how good you would feel on his cock.
~ He feels like he is losing himself as his kisses become more and more sloppy.
~ Satoru is completely lost in your pussy.
~ His thrusts are erratic and slow because he feels like he is going to cum already.
~ He finally catches himself and starts fucking you hard.
~ “F-fuck you’re so tight, baby you feel so good on him…. I almost lost myself in your amazing pussy (Y/N).”
~ “Sa-to-ru! Just like that oh-oh my God fuck that feels so goooooooooood!” You moan out as he pounds into you.
~ “Yeah? You like that baby?” He asks as he lifts your legs up in the air going even deeper inside you.
~ “Take him all this dick is all for you!” He shouts out as he rails you.
~ “F-fuck Sa-Satoruuuuu I'm-I'm cuuuuummmmiiiiiinnnnnggggggg!” You moan out as your pussy sucks his cock in squirting all over the two of you.
~ “I want you to ride him baby girl.” E says as he pulls out and lays down on the bed.
~ In a flash you’re on top of him rubbing your clit on his cock making him moan out.
~ “Ohhhhhh f-fuck (Y-Y/N-N) you naughty girl teasing me like this.” He says looking down at your soaking core as you squirt all over him.
~ “Baby please put him back in…. He’s getting cold.” Satoru begs you. “He needs to be inside you.”
~ You smirk at him. “Of course baby because you asked so nicely….. Just answer one question for me, okay?” You say as you buck your hips making your slit rub all over his cock.
~ “Yes I’ll do anything!” He moans out.
~ “That’s a good Satoru.” You lean into his neck. “Do I have you pussy whipped already my dear Satoru?” You ask him as you mount him.
~ “YESSSSSSS!” He moans out as you slam down on his cock making it echo.
~ “I love your pussy so much (Y/N)! I-I can’t get enough of her!” He wails out gripping your sides as he snaps his hips into you.
~ “F-fuck Sa-to-ruuuuuuuu!” You scream out as you bounce up and down on him.
~ Mr. Cocky is losing his cool as he pounds deeper and deeper into you, your tight pussy is just too much for him.
~ He's going to cum any minute now.
~ His deep thrusts are slowing down.
~ “Are you going to cum for me baby?” You say in a sultry voice as you run your finger down his chest making him shiver.
~ With one final snap of his hips he thrusts deep into you cumming.
~ Your pussy clenches around his throbbing cock as you release your final orgasm.
~ You collapse on his chest still connected to him your breathing heavy as you find his lips wrapping your arms around his neck pulling him in for a deep passionate kiss.
~ You lay there in stillness holding each other close.
~ Finally you catch your breath. “Satoru baby that was absolutely amazing!”
~ He rolls you over so he is on top of you.
~ He leans into your neck. “Yes it was my love.”
~ You fell his member become hard again as he bucks his hips.
~ “Are you ready for round two?” He asks smugly.

“Corn Syrup, Like in Carrie” | The Mikaelson Boys
Hey my lovelies this is my fic for @hellotvshowtrash ‘s March Prompt Challenge— I hope you all enjoy and especially you, Ash! I literally wrote this in a few hours so I hope it isn’t terrible; I wanted to make sure I actually submitted this month though because you put a lot of hard work into making fun things for us. I haven’t written for these boys in a while so this was nice :)
Description: Y/n drags Kol into a plan that is more dumb luck than actual planning— is it even a question that he would be willing to help?
Pairing: The Mikaelson Boys x Female!Reader
Warnings: Mentions of blood and death but in a casual, funny way (sadistic but funny), this might be the grungiest thing I’ve written to date
Word count: 1.99k (it’s literally 1999k, I pushed this as far as possible)
Tags: Fluff, a lil angst if you squint (squint is used loosely here)
Prompt: “This plan of yours is going to get us killed. Of course I’m in.”
Kudos if you get the picture easter egg!
Tumblr media
“You want to do what now?”
She huffs but the wicked smile on her face carves through the annoyance— of course she isn’t actually exasperated with him.
“You heard me Kol— I want to scare him!”
The brown eyed vamp rolls his eyes but his own grin is just as cunning. She can see the spark in his eyes, that little glint that lets her know everything she needs to know— lets her know that he’s in.
All in.
“You know that’s impossible darling,” he toys, his smirk too coy for a man over a thousand years old. “Klaus doesn’t get scared.”
She laughs— that’s what he thinks.
Kol’s brows push together, the glint growing alongside his smile, his sharp teeth poking into his lip. “I know that look— that look is never good.”
She meets him where he leans against the countertop, hopping up beside him and wrapping her arms around his cool shoulders. “Oh it’s good alright, Kol-y. I think you’ll like it very much.”
He turns towards her, running his nose across her jaw, peppering a few kisses against her skin before tilting his face up. “Well out with it then, darling— what’s the plan?”
She giggles, pressing her lips against his quickly before pulling back, pecking the vampire’s nose when he scrunches it. She shakes her head at his puppy dog eyes— easily distracted, that one is.
She leans down, whispering her idea into his ear, her chest blossoming with warmth when he shivers against her lips. She can’t tell if it’s because of how close she is or because he likes her plan— both, most likely. When she finishes speaking she nips his ear, tugging gently before releasing him. He groans when his ear meets the cool kitchen air, twisting to push between her legs.
He leans down, pressing his lips against her again. She can taste the mischief on his lips, tangy and sharp— someone has been eating blackberries again.
“You’re a menace darling.”
“Hmm—” she hums her agreement against his berry lips— “I learned from the best.”
He chuckles and this time she shivers, his lips trailing down her neck. “Is that so?”
She pushes against his chest, trying to regain some of his attention. This is important. She slips her fingers into his soft hair, knitting them between the strands and tugging until his baby browns meet her gaze. He sighs, his smile less menacing and more longing than moments ago. He raises his brow, his eyes flitting to her neck before going back to her eyes— are you going to speak or can I go back to what I was doing?
She huffs.
“Are you in or not, Mikaelson?” She grinds out as he tugs against her hand, just barely nipping at her sensitive skin.
He groans when she pulls her throat away from his ministrations, finally standing straight again. His hands slide up the sides of her neck, smoothing against her jaw, fingers hooking behind her ears.
“This plan of yours is going to get us killed, darling.” His soft grin sharpens as he speaks, the glint resurfacing in his eyes. To her it makes him look beautiful. It makes him look dangerous. “Of course I’m in.”
** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** **
“Alright,” Kol announces, his cheerful voice drifting from the entrance to the compound to where she lays in a heap next to the couch. “He’s coming down the street now— I can hear him on the phone. I think he’s talking to Elijah.”
She can’t see the vamp but she knows that the mirth in his voice is much too extensive considering what they are about to do. Oh well. She raises a hand— she can’t speak with the blonde who’s now on their street hearing— signalling for him to get into place—
—and for him to dump the bucket of corn syrup, red dye number five, and just enough of her blood to make it smell real all over her body.
It goes on warm and sticky, scarily similar to actual blood, drenching the t-shirt she has decided to sacrifice. It’s for a good cause, she has to remind herself. Her skin itches where the mixture clings to her and she has to keep from giggling, her shoulders shaking. This had better work.
Kol’s boot nudges against her butt, tsking as she swallows another giggle. “Get with it darling— he’s almost here.”
She nods, splaying her limbs out in a way she imagines a dead— or almost dead— body would look. She doesn’t have to imagine too hard.
“Good job,” Kol whispers. “Billy Loomis would be proud.”
She smiles quickly at the reference— part of her plan was making him watch Scream with her.
“He’s here— let’s do this—“
The end of his sentence is cut off by a yell— his yell. They have to cover the sound of her heartbeat somehow. She can only keep her heart so steady and she’s not trying to give herself away before the fun has really begun. Thank heaven Kol has a good pair of lungs— and that he doesn’t need to breathe.
“Yeah I just go ba— Kol?” Like with Kol, she can’t see Klaus but she can hear him and the way his voice falters in confusion.
“Brother—” the way Kol’s voice hitches at the end of the word makes her almost break character. Someone sign this man up for an Oscar immediately— “I don’t know what happened. I left to get some of that ice cream she’s always talking about and— and—”
Klaus doesn’t speak but over Kol’s scarily astute acting she can hear commotion on the other end of his cellphone. Elijah— jackpot.
A double prank.
“Elijah give me a minute— Kol, what happened?”
Klaus’ heavy boots thunk against the concrete, the vibrations radiating through her cheek where it presses against the ground. His steps are almost as thundering as his voice, both echoing through the open space.
Kol plays along with his brother’s anger, matching it with his own. “I just said I don’t know!”
“What do you mean you don’t know! Look at her and tell me what you see—” his words stop, the air punctuated by a loud crack, no doubt the sound of his Iphone shattering into a hundred pieces.
Oops.
Suddenly there are hands on her back, nudging her softly, pulling at the sticky fabric of her t-shirt. You’re going to have to do better than that to wake the dead, babe. His hands get steadily more frantic— and more slimy— dragging the blood concoction into her hair as he checks her scalp and neck for injury. She holds her breath as his hand wraps around her jaw, lifting her face gently.
“Fuck, Kol, why is she bleeding so much?”
Kol only screeches in answer— again, she almost loses it. Klaus must not like that answer very much because he curses under his breath. Well, under his breath is a relative term. She is sure the entirety of Bourbon street hears the F-bomb he drops. The word is accompanied by the sound of her shirt being ripped in two. Here we go.
She feels a whoosh of air against her now revealed skin, steeling against the shiver that creeps up her spine at the cold air. Soon there is another pair of hands on her, sliding down her slick arms. She can picture the dyed corn syrup staining Elijah's dress shirt and the glare in his dark eyes when he realizes she has teamed up with his brother to wreak mayhem.
“What’s going on? What happened?” His sultry voice is worse than the cold air— and much harder to stave off.
“I don’t know—” both Klaus and Kol speak in unison, Klaus taking over for the both of them— “but there isn’t time to find out right now.”
Before she has time to process his words her body is being flipped over, her back pressing into the icy, sticky concrete. It takes all of her strength not to squeal at the contact. She hears a noise much too juicy for her liking before a warm artery is pressed against the seam of her lips. Perfect!
“C’mon love, please—”
When her mouth fills with a thick, metallic substance she breaks, springing forward and coughing wildly, making sure to swallow a good amount before hacking the rest up. She runs an arm across her eyelids, trying to unstick them but only managing to coat her eyelashes even more.
When she finally manages to peel her eyes open, spitting the last of Klaus’ blood out of her mouth, she is met with the faces of two shocked vampires and one vampire who is laughing his ass off. Kol’s laughter is infectious— especially because she’s been holding back giggles since the start of their ruse— and soon she is joining him, laughing so hard she falls backwards again into the goo.
For a moment there is silence— only the sound of her and Kol’s laughter— before it gives way to Klaus’ deathly calm voice. “What the hell is going on here?”
She pushes herself up on an elbow, flashing him a scarlet drenched smile— she would give anything to see her crimson teeth right now. She runs her tongue over them to enhance the point.
“Did I scare you?”
His eyes flash with black. “Did you scare me—”
“Yes, you scared us!” Elijah’s red hands wrap around her forearms, hauling her into his chest without a care for his white shirt. “May I ask why?”
Elijah’s chest shudders, his arms curling around her waist. He wasn’t lying— he’s terrified. He smells like cooking oil and metal but she doesn’t care— he’s too warm for her to mind. His lips press against her forehead and she almost feels bad.
Almost.
A hand wraps around her hair from behind, yanking her back from his brother’s chest. “What Elijah means to say is can we demand why? Why you would try something like that?”
She dips her head further back, squinting up at the furious blonde. “Oh you already know why, love.”
He rolls his eyes, his jaw clenched but leaning down to brush his cheek against hers regardless. “Indulge me anyway.”
She tilts her head, skimming her tacky lips against his stubble. “To make a point.”
“Oh yeah? And what point might that be?”
“That I am fragile—” she pulls upright, turning in Elijah’s arms and dropping the cheshire grin— “that you can’t protect me all the time—” she pushes forward, crawling onto Klaus’ drenched lap— “that I need to be like you.”
He sighs, his forehead dropping against hers, his hands curling around her jaw. “This again?”
Her arms hook around his neck, fingers tangling in his blonde hair. “You know I’m right.”
Klaus’ shoulders slump, his golden eyebrows knitting together. “Does it have to be right now?”
“Your blood is already in my system.”
“You’re going to be the death of me, you know that?”
She smiles back at him, leaning in for what she hopes is one last human kiss. “Shouldn’t I be the one saying that?”
He only sighs, shaking his head as Kol laces his fingers with hers. She turns to the brown eyed vamp just in time to see him pass her a mischievous wink.
It is the last thing she sees before the world around her goes dark.
** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** **
She wakes feeling significantly less sticky than she had when she blacked out— and significantly more hungry. She can’t remember the last time her throat was dry like this. Is she catching a cold? She shifts slightly, her elbow piling into a pillow underneath her. The pillow grunts.
Not a pillow.
Kol rises beside her, pressing a hand to her chest until she falls back against the mattress and then rolling on top of her, sinking his face against her neck. The words he mumbles into her skin make her dead heart stop in the best way.
“I told you that plan would get you killed.”

Wonder Egg Priority: Post-Mortem Spoiler-riffic Thought Dump (Repost)
Since I accidentally deleted the old post, might as well!
Tumblr media
Quickest Summary: After her friend commits suicide, Ai Ohto enters a world where she’s promised if she protects the souls of other teenage girl suicide victims from the monsters that embody the horrors that drove them to their deaths, her friend will come back to life. During her journey, she meets three other girls fighting to save their loved ones and begins to form a bond with them.
Yeah so. This show. Sure had potential. The subject matter was dense (self harm, suicide, abuse, marginalization, transphobia, corrective rape, sexual assault, mental illness are just the beginning of the list of issues depicted), the animation was beautiful, and I’m someone who truly loves stories where one wrestles with symbolic and fantastical representations of social and psychological issues,  who loves a magical twist on heavy struggles, it was catnip for me initially. The issue of suicide/depression/trauma/suicidal ideation and how it interacts with girlhood  and adolescence is something that really hits close to home for me. It was clear from the beginning the show had so much potential- the system run by these creepy robot guys exploiting girls trauma and convincing them if they racked up enough wins like a video game they can, y’know, undo suicide is a fascinatingly fraught and rich set up that could have the potential to say powerful thing about the social systems that entrap us, Utena-style. It was also clear that the show had potential to fall apart under too many ideas and horribly mishandle the heavy subject matter and end up being another story by that enforces harmful myths and stereotypes about girls. BOY HOWDY GUESS WHICH ONE IT CHOSE.
The show has some genuinely powerful moments in early episodes (I’d say episode 7 was is maybe where you’d want to stop if you wanted to watch the show and get some enjoyment out of it) and the girls it introduces were all immediately fascinating and had some fantastic moments and the potential to be such great characters- unfortunately, it squandered pretty much all of that by the end of the show, when it introduced a brand new antagonist and a whole host of sci-fi concepts at the last minute with no space or ability to actually explore any of it. (A ROBOT IS SUPPOSEDLY MAKING GIRLS COMMIT SUICIDE Y’ALL IM SERIOUS). The girls who’d made progress on their character arcs were all abruptly retraumatized in a way that felt cruel and didn’t serve the story because again, no time to explore it!
Tumblr media
Importantly, one of the central driving mysteries of the show- why Ai’s friend committed suicide- had the most disgusting, insulting answer it was possible to have. I’m not going to bother to dance around it- we had a teacher who was framed extremely creepily the entire show. He crossed definite lines- he drew paintings of his female students and submitted them to art competitions and drew a picture of Ai, in particular, AS AN ADULT WOMAN (???), with the title ‘latent heat’ (which is as one reviewer put it is the absolute worst thing he could have called it my soul wants to leave my body), and told her she would be hot like her mom (who he was dating) when she grew up. Those aren’t even red flags okay, that’s like….like…Akio Ohtori’s red car has pulled up in the station (I’m just making Utena references to cope shhh).
Ai’s central conflict was she had a crush on Sawaki but also was suspicious he might be a creep who did something to her friend Koito to contribute to her suicide. The conclusion is, nope, Koito is actually KER-AY-ZY and was in love with Sawaki and when he rejected her she falsely accused him of raping her while threatening to jump to her death and but OOPS that silly girl slipped and died! Oh and she’d totally done this before, driving another man to suicide with a false accusation, because this show supposedly exploring the issues of teenage girls is officially pivoting to “yeah but what about the adult men they’re the REAL victims of those malevolent fifteen year olds” now.
Of course we get this all from Mr. Sawaki, Koito doesn’t get a voice or to tell her side of the story here, because who the fuck cares about that I guess! We just accept Sawaki’s word- Ai doesn’t question it, Koito doesn’t get to say anything because she got amnesia or whatever when she got bought back to life and Ai can’t talk to her and Ai also specifically says she was wrong for being suspicious of a teacher made of red flags. I cannot overemphasize how fucked it is that this show is essentially saying young girls who get bad vibes from adult men (or hey, adults in general but this show only cares about men!) shouldn’t like, listen to themselves and be cautious. What a truly dangerous message to send.
(Also, if Koito made such a fuss, why did Ai never hear about it when she got back to school? It should have been pretty obvious whether she fell vs jumped to onlookers if Sawaki could apparently tell, why did no one say that to Ai? And when he was dating her mom did Sawaki bother to mention “oh yeah your daughter’s best friend, who died, you know the reason she’s a traumatized shut in right now, well she accused me of rape and then that’s why she fell to her death but I promise i did not rape her  also she totally fell she didn’t jump :) I did hug her once which was definitely inappropriate considering what I apparently knew of her history but im a nice guy i swear :) anyway I’m so down to date you and be part of your family I’m sure it will help your daughter recover this a great idea”. Imagine a mother listening to that story and being like “yeah this is fine”.
In the Anifem podcast covering this trashfire, Cy Clewis, who taught in Japan, mentions how when she was teaching there, she heard of a teacher who was caught recording elementary school girls in the bathroom, and he didn’t even lose his teaching license, he just could no longer teach in that city. In a world where these kind things happen, where men still easily escape consequences, THIS is the story show told to tell, and I just want to emphasize how fucked that is.
So yeah, I could talk about other aspects of the show, (the way characters like Momoe and Kaoru in particular are handled is something I encourage you to seek out trans takes on, listening to the anifem podcast is a good start! But hey, at least this picture is super cute I’ll always like it:
Tumblr media
LET YOUR FLAG FLY MY GUY)
But does it really matter. That one issue pretty much represents how hard the show fell apart and how utterly it fails in caring about its teen girl characters (plus two teen trans boys) and the reality of teen suicide, how utterly it falls apart in both emotional and narrative logic. I’m tired, so the only other thing I’ll say about I find interesting about this show is it COULD be a study in directors, writers and animators clashing. Nojima, the writer, went on record saying he truly DOES believe teen girls don’t commit suicide for the “logical’ reasons men do and are more impulsive (i know, i hope he steps on a lego, DON’T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB AND GO INTO PSYCHOLOGY), yet the director might not. The animators framing Sawaki as super creepy (Atelier emily goes into it very well) and including a lot of depth to a clumsy story may also be them either having different ideas or actively disagreeing with the writer’s vision.
And let’s not ignore how the show was a disaster for it’s poor animators and it’s possible staff may have even been hospitalized. I should mention this was a 13 episode anime with two recap episodes (one of them being 25 minutes of the 45 minute special that was released three months after episode 12).
Basically, the egg is on everyone’s face, and I feel so sorry for everyone involved (except Nojima because he’s pissed me off). I hope things get better for the anime industry and future ambitious projects like this value the health of the staff and stick their landing.

╰☆☆☆☆╮
No matter how hard you tried, the efforts you put to prevent you from coming back, you always found yourself going at the local café every single week. You didn’t understand if it was the atmosphere or the warmth of the place, but you always found yourself there. The fact that it was located just down the road gave you the excuse of hanging around there more often than you should.
You could be busy, studying for finals or hang out with friends, the café was always hidden in the corner of your mind. As soon as the street works ended, your neighbourhood became the most tranquil place you’ve ever lived in. All your neighbours were friendly and polite, sticking a little note in the lift to warn the other neighbours of a potential party or loud reunion, helping each other at any occasion. Some residents, including you, owned a pet, and you were grateful that none of them was a pain in the butt for the rest of the building. When you told your friends how quiet and different it was from your former apartment, they never believed you.
While some of them would have killed to study or sleep at a place like your current one, you always found yourself going back to this local café. This little, Japanese-like coffee shop became your new obsession over the months, randomly finding it once while you wanted to go to a flower shop at the end of this street. The employees were welcoming and caring, completely catching you off guard as you were used to going to Starbucks, where some baristas and waiters could use a good lecture about politeness and respect. In the small coffee shop, their goal wasn’t to make the most money possible, it was more to please people and make them discover new coffee or pastries flavours. Everything was homemade, and that’s what encouraged you to become their number one fan. The workers, especially one, started recognising you by dint of your regular appearances at the shop, remembering one of your visits.
“Morning Y/N! Caramel macchiato, as usual? Nothing else?” Kevin, the barista, greeted you with a smile, which you returned alongside with a nod.
This barista was a social butterfly, always striking up a conversation with everyone. And he didn’t care, he just kept going, even if the customers were rude or remained quiet. You were admiring because you were among the people that stayed reserved yet polite when he started talking to you, but his ease made you comfortable enough to joke and laugh with him, striking a conversation with him whenever you had the chance, quickly becoming friends over your many visits.
“Yes, please! I need a lot of caffeine today,” you murmured, and he sadly chuckled, understanding your great need for energy. “Rough night?” he asked, and you agreed again, chuckling as you realised how lame it was. “I assisted my dog being in pain while giving birth,” you explained, and the barista’s eyes widened, his mouth falling agape in excitement. “But that’s amazing! How many did she have?” he seized your credit card without even telling you the price of your purchase - in his defence, you were so used to coming here that you knew the price of your order by heart by now - and typed on his screen, closing the cash register in a slam as it randomly opened.   “She gave birth to four healthy puppies, they’re so adorable,” you replied, and the man in front of you smiled as brightly as you were.
“Those are great news! Oh, by the way, would you like to have a taste of the discovery of our pastry chef? You should have seen how happy he looked when he finished the batch this morning,” he explained, and you followed him to the window display, indicating with his finger what resembled a mille-feuille. “That looks nice, I’ll have one, then,” you stated as you were to hand him your credit card again, which he hesitantly took before looking at the back office. You asked him if something was wrong, but he shook his head with a smile and gave you a tray with your drink and the pastry. “Have a great day Kevin!” you thanked him while he washed his hands, head turning to you before shooting you a friendly wink. “You too, Y/N! And you can always tell me if you need someone to take one of the puppies, I’ll gladly adopt one. I only have to talk with my girlfriend first,” your eyes turned into crescent moons filled with joy at his words, and you lifted your thumb excitedly. He quickly waved before serving the next customer, his signature undying smile plastered on his face.
Comfortably sitting down at an empty table, you took off your coat and gulped a sip of your drink, your mouth salivating at the sight of the food. Grabbing the fork, you slid it against the pastry and brought it to your mouth, the sugary taste melting against your tongue. You ate more and more until you finished, almost tempted to go back to Kevin and ask him for another one. But you ignored your love of good food and started getting to work, getting a book and your computer out of your bag, touching up your project that you had spent a lot of time working on. It was one of the last things you had to do for university, and you were delighted to get it done to finally move on.
“Is everything okay?” You recognised the voice of your favourite barista, smiling as you watched him clearing your tray. “Yeah, thanks! Actually, can you tell the chef that it was amazing? I loved how incredible it tasted,” you explained, and Kevin smiled brightly, nodding. “I promise I’ll do it. Jacob gets so happy when he receives recognition, I’m sure it’s going to brighten his day,” nodding at you, he took your empty tray back to the counter.
Quickly saving your paper on your computer, you turned your head to the side to stare at the barista, smiling as you noticed him disappearing in the back as he called his friend’s name.
“Jacob!” Kevin spoke as he wiped his wet hands on his apron, his friend slightly flinching as the voice filled the silence he was used to working in. “Are we out of something?” the baker worriedly asked, and Kevin shook his head, a chuckle escaping from his mouth. “No, no, I’m just doing my job, being a messenger,” Jacob slightly frowned and stopped spreading yolk on the biscuits. “One of my friends, Y/N, came and ate the mille-feuille you made this morning. She said that it was excellent, and she wanted me to tell you,” Kevin explained, and the baker blinked a few times, the tip of his ears getting progressively red as he processed his friend’s words. “Thank you, I appreciate it,” the baker replied with a smile, peeking out of the back office to try and get a look at the customers. “Is she still there?” he asked, and Kevin peered closer, shaking his head as your seat was now found empty.
Jacob nodded and went back to work, a bit disappointed to not have been able to see you, hence the pout forming onto his face, but he was touched that someone complimented him on his skills. Of course, it was his job after all, but it always felt nice to receive compliments and validation that what you do is fantastic. Jacob wasn’t the most confident person in the world, so your words only brought him the daily dose of happiness and the credits he deserved.
You came back the next week, the atmosphere of the café had changed into something quite hectic, almost stressing you out when you came here to relax and chill out from your day at uni. Now that your project was done and submitted, you had some hours to kill before meeting up with some friends. Without even noticing, you arrived in the middle of rush hour, people jostling one another to get some pastries or a quick coffee before going back to work. You had to put back into place a businessman that tried to overtake you to place his order, feeling your heart hammering in your chest while doing so. The excuse of being in a rush didn’t persuade you, riposting that you also had to go somewhere so he went back behind you, breathing out of frustration to make you feel guilty, but it didn’t work. You only rolled your eyes and waited, smirking to yourself as the man behind you gave up and left, cussing.
A hand settled the pastries in the window display in a rush, people massing together to decide on their order. Kevin was all over the place but still an angel, a tired yet bright smile adorning his face. Once it was your turn, a man walked behind your friend and recognised the thin hands that placed the pastries in front of you a few minutes earlier. “Jacob? We ran out of chocolate chip cookies, we need a new batch asap, bro. We’re selling them like hot cakes.Y/N, hi, the usual?” Kevin said, and you looked up at the name, the baker stopping in his tracks and nodded, a tired look on his face. Kevin seized the opportunity to grab a chocolate croissant from the tray his friend was holding, wrapping it in a napkin.
Your eyes connected with Jacob’s for a second, his light brown pupils holding something warm and gentle towards you. He wiped the flour off his apron before quickly looking back at you, pushing the strands of hair away from his eyes before replacing his baker cap. He looked in great need of sleep, the bags under his eyes enhancing the empathy you had for him. He was handsome and adorable at the same time, your heart not being able to choose what side to fall for. The baker tiredly nodded at his friend’s request and disappeared, hearing him hastily get back to work.
“Oh uhm, yes, please,” you stammered, and Kevin smirked, humming in agreement, and typed on his screen. You shyly cleared your throat as your friend probably understood your train of thoughts since you weren’t so discrete in observing the baker, but thankfully, he didn’t raise it.
Once the rush hour had calmed down, and the coffee shop quieted down again, just like it was when you came last time, Kevin took his break with Jacob. The manager took over, leaving the two employees time to take a much-needed break and breathe for a while, gathering enough energy to make it to the end of the afternoon.
“It was her that complimented your mille-feuille,” Kevin revealed as he motioned to your table with a nod, where you were happily calling a friend and munching on the pastry the barista had placed on your tray.
Jacob followed his friend’s finger, and an honest, tired smile emerged on his face when he noticed how bright and sunny you looked. You looked so soft and nice to have around, making the baker wonder how it was to have a conversation with you. Eyes turning into crescent moons as you laughed at one of your friend’s joke, you failed to notice the employee looking in your direction, his colleague observing him out of the corner of his eye while sipping his iced americano.
“She’s pretty, right?” Kevin mumbled, but Jacob didn’t hear him. “What did you say?” The pastry chef mindlessly asked, gaze trailing on your figure. “Y/N. She’s pretty, don’t you think?” Jacob’s eyes widened and stared back at his friend, who was giggling. “It’s okay, I’ll keep it a secret,” the barista nudged his tired friend in the ribs, finishing his drink. “You better,” his colleague finished his coffee, throwing the paper cup in a bin before going back to work, leaving a chuckling Kevin behind. Why do I feel like cupid out of a sudden?” the barista mumbled to himself, a smirk appearing on his face as he stood up and went back inside.
The next week, as you hung around, you felt the same way of tension as soon as you stepped into the café as last time. Jacob was surprisingly serving customers, juggling between the coffees and the pastries baking in the back office. “H-hi!” you greeted Jacob, and he slightly froze at your word, greeting you with a bright smile. You were surprised when he didn’t even ask for your order, getting straight to work and wishing him a nice day as you walked to your usual seat. However, as you took your first sip, you felt your stomach churn and a disgusting taste landing on your throat. Shivers travelled down your spine as you swallowed the bitter liquid you recognised that belonged to the iced americano. A wave of memories invaded your mind as you remembered how terrible it tasted once you took a sip from your ex’s drink, who was addicted to this type of beverage.
Jacob got your order wrong, and you swallowed thickly several times, pondering if it were a good idea to add more stress to the poor baker’s shoulders by pointing at his mistake, but you couldn’t bring yourself to drink this no matter how hard you tried. You stood up and walked to the side of the counter, waiting for the people to get served before you caught the baker’s attention. You started to calmly explain the uncomfortable situation you were in to the barista, his ears became bright red as another customer came and seemed to have your drink in your hand. The customer got extremely mad as he was apparently in a rush, yelling and cursing at the baker.
“You are paid for doing this, how could you make an order wrong? It’s not that difficult!” the man exclaimed, and you noticed Jacob’s eyes darkening. You knew that he wanted to talk back to the customer, but he didn’t plan on getting fired, so he just listened and nodded. “Jacob, don’t worry I can wait, serve him first,” you said before walking back to the table after offering him a smile, noticing him nodding again and take the two drinks that you and the other man laid on the counter.
The baker cleared his throat as he arrived a few minutes later with your correct order and a slice of chocolate cake.
“I’m sorry for giving you the wrong order. I am the only one here because Kevin is on holiday and my manager was supposed to come, but he left me in the lurch. So… I’m a bit stressed out,” Jacob explained quickly, earning a reassuring smile from him. He swallowed thickly but felt a wave of relief crash onto him as you didn’t look mad at all.  “It’s okay, Jacob, it’s human to make mistakes. If it were another drink, I wouldn’t have said anything but I really can’t drink strong coffee. Thank you for the pastry, and uhm… good luck for today?” you said as he stood up, his tired eyes shining with thankfulness as he got back behind the counter. You quickly enjoyed your food and left after trying to wave at him timidly, but sadly, he didn’t notice you.
When you visited the café on the other days, he disappeared again in the back office, Kevin taking back the lead. There, with your caramel macchiato in hand, you started daydreaming about the pastry chef, his dreamy hands and beauteous face. You imagined romantic dates and activities you could do together, such as baking you new pastries before offering them at the coffee shop or even spending a day at the park together, a lost yet gentle smile on your face.
Everything about him made you dream. He exuded comfort, fondness, and warmth, his eyes always pearly with delight. Even a blind man would not have missed how amazing and passionate he is when it came to baking. You once overheard a conversation between him and Kevin, talking about a new receipt he found on the internet and how excited he was to try it out. His soft voice never failed to make you smile, his fluffy hair making you wonder how soft it was and how good it’d feel if you carded your fingers through his locks as you hugged him.
It was undeniable and inevitable, you had tried to deny those feelings during the past few weeks, but you couldn’t reject the fact that you had a massive crush on Jacob. Kevin gently teased you about this when his friend appeared, making sure to say his name aloud to catch your attention when you sat at a table, only to watch him quickly find a hiding place. You also wished you would see him more often, feeling quite defeated to see him escape your gaze as soon as he saw you. With the number of times you came to the coffee shop and saw your friend, your crush’s brief appearances weren’t enough to fulfil your little heart’s happiness. You wanted more of him, but, much to your dismay – and secretly Jacob’s – you didn’t know what to do.
“Ah Y/N! I talked with my girlfriend today, and I was wondering if I could adopt one of the puppies? I showed her the pictures you sent me, and she is all over the moon for this one,” Kevin said as he placed your order on the tray, quickly getting his phone out after checking whether some customers were waiting or not. “Yeah, no problem!” you smiled as you recognised the crazy, adventurous one. “I asked the vet, and he told me that they are old enough to be adopted. Is it okay if you come with your girlfriend within the next few days? I can’t wait for you to have one, they are precious!” you exclaimed but calmed instantly, heart hammering in your chest as your lovely baker appeared from the back office, visibly in a bad mood. He didn’t even glance at you, his attitude sent a pang in your heart, but Kevin just shook his head, winking at you. “Can we come tonight to your place? I’m excited to meet my future baby boy!” Kevin made sure that his friend heard, noticing that he was listening carefully yet discreetly, hence his movements coming suddenly to a halt. The barista gave you a knowing smile and kept on chatting with you as if nothing happened.
That night, someone knocked at your door, and you excitedly walked to the main entrance, happily greeting the couple, and welcoming them in, eyes widening as Jacob had tagged along.
“What a great surprise!” you awkwardly mumbled, and he nodded, his smile outshining the sun as you let them all inside. Kevin and his girlfriend were quick to follow the yaps of your dogs to her newborns, leaving you with Jacob, who was quick to grab your wrist gently to make you stay with him. You mindlessly smiled, but deep down, you were sure that Kevin did this on purpose.
“I couldn’t help but hear your conversation with Kevin, and I’ve always loved dogs, and since yours gave birth, I wanted to see them,” he explained, and you smiled, heart hammering in your chest. “Yeah no worries, you are welcome here! Let’s go see them before they steal all the puppies.”
With Jacob on your heels, you went to the spare room that became your dog’s nursery, the couple already cooing at the black puppy as you slowly opened the door.
“Look how proud she is,” his girlfriend said, looking at you with twinkling eyes. Your dog walked up to you, tail wagging as she got all the attention on her and the puppies. Since your dog only allowed you to reach inside the box, you were quick to lift the only black puppy out of the four and placed it in your friend’s arms. “I named him Squishy, I had no inspiration for the names,” you giggled as Kevin pet its belly, the puppy trying to lick his finger.
You brought everyone to the living room, where you offered your guests some drinks and started talking together. Your friend’s girlfriend was adorable, over the moon with the dog, just like Kevin had predicted it. Jacob was more on the reserved side, just like at the café, your dog climbing up the couch to rest her head on his thigh, asking for caresses. You felt a sense of betrayal rushing through your veins as she preferred a perfect stranger over you, retrieving her head every time you tried to pet her. Your dog looked at you almost with a mocking look, as if she wanted to show you that she dared to go up to him, unlike you.
It was getting late, but you were having fun, the couple confirming that they adopted the puppy. You helped packing everything necessary for the puppy and got ready to leave, thanking you for your kindness and hospitality. You were happy but felt a bit sad that someone already adopted one of the puppies. It was hard not to get attached to those cute little creatures, but you were reassured that he’d be treated like a king by living with your friends.
Jacob, on the other hand, was stuck on the couch as your dog prevented him from doing the slightest movement.
“She is quite stubborn,” Jacob shyly giggled as he tried to move his leg, only to have the dog whining and yapping. “Luna, stop! Let Jacob go, now!” you walked up to the couch, and she fled, strolling away from you each time you tried to get closer to her.
After many unsuccessful attempts, you managed to lure her into the nursery, shutting the door shut and she barked, but the apartment was quick to fall in silence.
“Finally,” you said as you went back to the living room, where Jacob was quietly admiring the photos on the wall. He gave you a quick smile and went back to his observations, you standing next to him with a slightly embarrassed smile. “It was nice to come here, but I’ll still reconsider my choices. I don’t want to decide on a whim, I wanna make sure that I’m settled and ready to welcome a puppy.” You nodded at his words, throwing him a reassuring gaze. “I completely understand, Jacob. You can take all the time you need. I’m planning on keeping one anyway, so if you change your mind, you can always come and visit,” you said, and an awkward silence installed around you two, Jacob scratching his neck as he avoided your gaze.
“Y-you know. I enjoy… what you bake, really, and I can’t wait for your next pastries,” you shyly mumbled to the man in front of you, who looked up with red adorning his cheeks. “I’m touched by what you’re telling me, thank you so much,” he said and quickly looked outside before inhaling and turning back to you.
“I’m going to go, but… I was wondering Y/N… y-you know, you’ve been friends with Kevin for a while and come around the café regularly, so I was wondering if we could also hang out, but you know… only the two of us? Maybe without Kevin?” Jacob was finding his words, thickly swallowing as he tried his best to tell you what he wanted. You giggled at the way he said things, imagining Kevin on his own while you were together. “Sure! Sure thing! You probably have a hectic schedule, but we can find something that works for the two of us?” you suggested, and he smiled, taking out his phone from his jeans pocket, holding the device with a nervous grip.
“Can I get your number, then? It’s gonna be easier to communicate rather than you coming around the café all the time. I- It’s not what I mean though, I really like having you around the shop, but you know, it’d be easier for the two of us,” you both shyly giggled as he messed up, the tip of his ears glowing bright red.
You were quick to enter your number in a new contact, confirming it before returning the phone to its owner, who gave you the warmest smile you had ever seen on his face.
“I’ll call you tomorrow then,” Jacob said as you walked him to the door, him thanking you just like your friends did. “Drive safe,” you whispered, and he nodded, giving you a soft smile before getting closer to you and softly pressing his lips on your cheek.
Your eyes widened at the sudden display of affection but smiled, feeling a wave of embarrassment invading your body. You waved at him until the elevator arrived, closing the front door with your heart pounding in your chest, doing a little dance of joy in the corridor as something concrete was starting to form between the two of you.
And the best was still yet to come. ♡

5. “I will support you even though I’m far away.”
2. “I can’t let us fade away.”
(Fluff)
1. “You’re the best part of my life.”
Tumblr media
word count: 1,2k words
You looked down at the envelope in your hand. The things written on the paper will change your life forever. You weren’t ready to open it, but not gonna lie, you really waited long enough to know the result of your hard work.
You open the lid nervously, taking out the white official paper inside before unfolding the paper to see what’s written on it.
‘Dear Ms. Y/l/n,
I am delighted to inform you that the Committee on Admission has admitted you to the class of 2021.’
You squeals in happiness when you finished reading the first sentence of the letter. “Mom! I’m admitted!!!” You run out of your room to your mom who’s cooking in the kitchen.
After a mini celebration with your family, you went back to your room, looking back at the letter, feeling proud. Sketching buildings and houses have been something you’re good at, and one of the reasons why is because of your desire to build a dream house for your family to live in. You want your family to live comfortably and happy, with your own design.
While you daydream about what’s going to happen in your upcoming life chapters, a notification pops up from your phone. You peeked into it to see who texted you and you smiled. It’s him.
Jaehyun <3: Hey, are you free for a date night?
You: “Hey baby! Yes, I’m free and I have something to tell you ~
Jaehyun <3: I’m excited! I’ll pick you up at 11, love. See you later ~
“I miss you so much!” Jaehyun hugged you so tight that you have to hold your breath with a smile drawn on your face. “Stop, I can’t breath!”
“Oops, sorry. I can’t help it.” He puts his hands back on the steering wheel and you leaned forward to give him a kiss. After all, you both can only date in his car to avoid getting caught by paparazzi and being careful not to hurt his fans.
Now that his car is parked in the middle of the park, he leaned closer to you while playing with your hand, squeezing it a little bit and your cheeks
“So, what is the thing you want to tell me, hm?” He asked.
You sighed. You were actually afraid that this might not end well because pursuing your dream job means leaving him and that you will be miles away from him without being able to come back home often.
“Well, the thing is... this.” You take out the letter you brought along to show him nervously, a small smile drawn on your face while expecting his reaction.
“Hm?” Jaehyun opened the letter you passed to him and a minute after he read the first paragraph, his eyes lit up in happiness. “Baby, you got admitted!” Before you got to reply he engulfed you in a hug again, slightly moving your body along with him in excitement. “Y-you’re happy?” You asked, voice muffled by being pressed to the crook of his neck.
“Of course! I know this means a lot to you. Going to this university is a dream and now you’re going for it! I’m so happy for you.”
For a moment, you feel like all the worries you have been thinking of were useless. Of course, he would be supporting and happy for you and stuff, but the fact that you both are going to be far away from each other still bothers your mind.
“Thank you for kindly supporting me, hon, but this means I’m going to be far far away from you.” You uttered sadly and he quickly sighed.
“I know. Remember when you first told me that you’re applying and I whined and told you I’m gonna be so sad if you got admitted? I am now. I feel like, you’re already going even though you’re still here with me and your departure will be in like two months?”
You can’t help but feel sad at what he said. A drop of tears slip out of your eye and you quickly wiped it off your cheeks and he immediately panicked. “Oh no, I made you cry! I’m sorry! This waas supposed to be a happy moment for you but I ruined it! Shit, I’m a terrible boyfriend,” he ranted.
“No, Jae. You’re the best part of my life. You’re not a terrible boyfriend. I love you, a lot.”
His look soften when you confessed just like that. He pats your back lovingly while you try to wipe the wetness on your cheeks. “It’s okay, we shall make sure that we will cherish every moment left to make up all the time we’ll be away from each other.”
He runs his fingers through your hair, brushing them against your hair to feel your beauty longer than he usually does. You smiled while keeping the eye contact before speaking out to him, “I will support you even though I’m far away. I will always be your number one fan, Jae.”
“I know it, I know for sure. We’ll keep in touch, right?”
You nod, and when you both hug it makes you sadder than it was already been that you cried on his hoodie that night, feeling sad and happy all mixed together, with him by your side.
The last two months ended with you two spending time more often than usual. His manager made it possible and he was being considerate enough to make his schedule worked for both of you to hang out. He meets you after his drama filming and often offers you to help you preparing your things before you move. Everything was going well and for a short moment, it made you forget that you’ll actually be leaving your family and loved one in a few hours.
Jaehyun stayed by your side before you have to check-in. He waited next to your family while you talked to your other family and friends, him being covered in a mask and a hat. He promised himself not to cry on the day when he would send you to the airport, but he thinks he’s going to fail. And he’s right.
“Aw, look at him, he’s already crying!” One of your family points up at him and he immediately wiped out the tears, embarrassed that your family gets to see him cry.
You smile bitterly as you approach him to give him a tight hug. He hugs you tighter, inhaling your scent before he’s going to miss your presence in the time beings. “I’m going to miss you, for real.” He mumbled against your hair, feeling a little bit relieved when your family left you both to give more privacy.
“Believe me, I’m going to miss you too, more than what you can imagine. Promise me to always work hard and achieve what you dream of, Jaehyun. We’re going to support each other, right?”
He nodded, as he rubs his hands against your back lovingly, before the announcement played on the background, reminding you of how little time you got before actually leaving the country to pursue your big dream.
“I can’t believe you already have to leave,” he sniffles. You laugh in tears, “Yes, I have to, by now. Stay healthy, baby. I’ll call you when I arrive.”
“Goodbye, love.” You waved to him as you drag your carrier with heavy steps, entering the other side while making sure you still see his figure through the transparent automatic slide door until he vanished completely out of your sight.

Hey are the requests open? If so, can you do a a-z nsfw for Lucifer? If they're not open then please ignore this. Anyways, I love your writing and I'm looking forward to more 😊😊😊
I’ve never done one of these before so I hope it’s okay. Also I struggle to take anything seriously so of course there’s gonna be some dumb shit in here. Anyway, hope you enjoy and thank you so much!
Warnings: NSFW, mentions of murder
Tumblr media
NSFW A-Z: LUCIFER
A = Aftercare (What they’re like after sex)
Lucifer can be rough - he's known to be a sadist after all but that doesn't mean he doesn't know how to look after you once he's had his way. Softens his voice, asks if you're okay, if there's anything you need. Will clean you up and praise you for how well you did. If it's him needing the aftercare, he's very quiet, playing over what just happened. Appreciates a drink and gentle caresses to bring him back down to earth
B = Body Part (Their favourite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
I think that Lucifer has quite a lot of insecurities - being told you're perfect all the time can make you dwell more on your flaws (or what you deem to be flaws.) But one thing he does like is his eyes. He knows he can make you lose yourself in his eyes with a single look. One look from across the room and he can have you begging for him within moments. On you he loves your hands. He doesn't let many people get close, let alone touch him, but your hands can ease his pains and make him feel loved. Massages, caresses, the way you hold his head against your chest at night, or the way you grip his cock so eagerly once he's riled you up. Also ties into a little somethin' I'll mention below in the D section eh ehhhh. (Oh and your mouth is a close second. (And not just because you called him baby boy once and had him malfunctioning for a whole hour.))
C = Cum (Anything to do with cum basically… I’m a disgusting person)
Lucifer doesn't like the thought of cleaning up, so prefers to cum inside you - it's his main way of showing that you're his. But accidents happen and there have been times he's slipped out at the last minute and coated the skin of your stomach/back and for a moment he found himself admiring it - like a new way of marking you as his. Oh he also likes painting your tongue with his cum too because watching you swallow it makes his pride bl o s s o m.
D = Dirty Secret (Pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
Dirty to him anyway - he actually likes submitting to you. (Once you two are quite established.) Shock horror! But you're the only one he trusts to completely let loose with, and sometimes when you have this much pressure on you it's nice to let someone else take control. BE HONOURED. OH and the hand thing. He will fucking worship your digits. Kiss 'em, suck 'em, nuzzle 'em. OOF.
E = Experience (How experienced are they? Do they know what they’re doing?)
He's been around for a long time, so it goes without saying he's had plenty of experience. He's well versed in the basics and is quick to pick up on every little thing you like to use against you (in the best way possible).
F = Favourite Position (This goes without saying. Will probably include a visual)
Likes being able to see your face, to watch every little sound escape your lips, every little sign of pleasure. Feeds off of it. But is not averse to shoving you face first into the mattress and fucking you senseless until you can barely utter a word. So y'know depends on his mood really.
G = Goofy (Are they more serious in the moment, or are they humorous, etc)
Serious. But dumb shit can happen during sex and even the Mighty First is not immune to this. Will laugh stuff off and get things quickly back on track by muttering naughty things in that delicious voice of his. If you insist on being jokey he'll insist on making it so you can't do anything but moan ;)
H = Hair (How well groomed are they, does the carpet match the drapes, etc.)
He's a busy guy, but he makes sure to always be groomed. This does mean that things get on top of him and well...don't blame the overworked tired bean if he gets a little unruly down there sometimes, okay?
I = Intimacy (How are they during the moment, romantic aspect…)
He's almost always quietly praising/encouraging you - in between the teasing of course.
J = Jack Off (Masturbation headcanon)
He's a stressed mess, he needs to release his frustrations somehow. Does it less so since you came along, and honestly didn't masturbate too often before, but when he does it's a scene. He takes his time, making sure to work up to a glorious finish so that he can truly relax afterwards.
K = Kink (One or more of their kinks)
Probably has a Sir or Daddy kink. Kinda likes choking you as well. One time your hand slipped from his chest to his throat without you thinking and that's when he realised he kinda likes being choked too oii oiiii.
L = Location (Favourite places to do the do)
His freakin' giant glorious bed because he's old and has back pain. Also bending you over his desk after rather troublesome days works too.
M = Motivation (What turns them on, gets them going)
You teasing him throughout the day. "MC you're eating that corn too sexually I'm going to have to teach you a lesson later." "Did you just call me mum? I don't care if it's an accident, I'm going to have to punish you later." "Did you just breathe? That's it, you asked for it." In all seriousness he rarely shows his want for you on the outside, but inside he'll be raring to ravage you. Depends on the day - one day you could have him popping a boner simply by rubbing your foot against his calf. The next, stripping naked and grinding on his face might not even make him blink.
N = NO (Something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
"Roleplay as Satan for me, Lucifer." You're probably dead before you even finish speaking those words, sorry I don't make the rules. (Oh wait I kinda do right now oops.)
O = Oral (Preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc)
Prefers to give as he likes having the power over you to make you come completely undone. Can feel a little vulnerable receiving - maybe he got bitten by a devious ex lover, who knows, but once you get going and his confidence with you grows he likes nothing more than grabbing the back of your head and urging you to take more of him.
P = Pace (Are they fast and rough? Slow and sensual? etc.)
He can be both. Fast and rough are his go-to, and when he does go slow, his thrusts are still usually on the harder side.
Q = Quickie (Their opinions on quickies rather than proper sex, how often, etc.)
He loves taking his time with you, as he likes driving you crazy for him but if the mood calls for it he has no issues with bending you over his desk and taking you right then and there. Will probably take extra care of you next time.
R = Risk (Are they game to experiment, do they take risks, etc.)
Damn straight he's down to experiment. Is curious to see how far both of you can go and what you're willing to do.
S = Stamina (How many rounds can they go for, how long do they last…)
Only one round, his back hurts too much. I'm kidding, he can go a few rounds, and can last a long time. There have been a couple occasions he's cum rather fast - either when drunk, or it's been a while since the last time. Gets very embarrassed over it but knows it's natural and happens sometimes. (That’s not the norm though, he promises.)
T = Toy (Do they own toys? Do they use them? On a partner or themselves?)
He got a bit crazy when you came along. Anything you like the sound of, he has. Already had blindfolds and things to bind you with - rope, ribbons, string cheese, you name it. But now you're here he has a whole collection of toys to tease you with. Even has a favourite vibrator he loves to leave strapped to your thigh so you can't get away from it. Ah, good times.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
Biiitch. BIiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch. This monster is the biggest tease. "Hm...I'm not sure you deserve my cock today, MC. Now now, begging will get you nowhere." (It probably will eventually, just saying. ...Maybe.) He'll leave you on read for days but magically turn up just as you're about to pleasure yourself like "nuhuh bitch, not today."
V = Volume (How loud they are, what sounds they make)
Fairly quiet - any sounds he does make are low in his throat, deep. Loses control closer to reaching his climax - gets breathier, speaks a little louder and noises are more frequent. Buuut once he did manage to wake up everyone in the house but that was because you'd been teasing him all day, you hadn’t slept together in like a week, and he'd been drinking and-- the list of excuses go on.
W = Wild Card (Get a random headcanon for the character of your choice)
Was once convinced to try out women's underwear once after a conversation with Asmo and was pleasantly surprised by how nice his ass looked. Will never EVER tell anyone this though, not even you and shit I shouldn't even be writing this he's probably gonna-- Oh heyyy Lucifer, nothing to see here I was jus--*gurrKH*
X = X-Ray (Let’s see what’s going on in those pants, picture or words)
Decent length, decent thickness. Just enough to take a bit of work to fit in but not too much that it's uncomfortable, y'know?
Y = Yearning (How high is their sex drive?)
Not very high, definitely not above average. Can definitely go without, but his mind might wander.
Z = ZZZ (… how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
Depends how tired he is, and how much is on his mind. You'll probably be the one to fall asleep first most of the time, which is great because he's good at giving after-sex cuddles. Plus your steady breathing makes it easier for him to sleep as well so...win win?

“See! You’re having a good time!”
The music pulsated through the streets, and Lexa didn’t care that her sister was gloating because she really was having a good time despite all intentions otherwise. The sun was bright and glaring without a cloud in the sky, and downtown was brimming with all colors, alive and vibrant, celebrating. And she as swept up in it, proud and overflowing with the music and freedom of being completely herself and being completely unknown in the crowd.
It’d been a hard fought battle for her to agree to come with her sister to Pride, but she didn’t have anything else to do, and because of Anya’s need to be an overachiever, something they both ascribed to genetics, she was going to be doing an internship and leaving soon enough, thus cutting their summer together incredibly short. The guilt and her sister’s incessant need to prove a point brought them downtown for the day, and Lexa was almost okay with it.
“I knew you would like it,” Anya gloated, dancing around with her sister in the pulsating group of bodies at the concert in the park.
“Is it always like this?”
A gaggle of scantily-clad men moved through in nothing but speedos and suspenders, and Lexa let one of them grab her and twirl her around. The entire day, she’d been absolutely adored and adoring of everyone around her. An inundation of love and support was enough to make her unsure of how to go back to real life.
Her sister watched as Lexa danced, hands up, smiling wide and overjoyed. She enjoyed the fact that her sister came out to her and she could actually do something about it. Though straight, Anya spent her first two years of college taking a crash course in gay when her random roommate was a very out and very proud girl who liked to use Anya as a wngman. She was incredibly helpful in coming up with things to help Lexa feel normal and supported, and Anya was going ot be the best big sister possible. She was that type A.
“Pride is always like this,” Anya promised. “And you get to be super gay anytime you want. Isn’t that great?”
“You’re worse than mom and dad. They’re like oddly proud to have a gay kid.”
“Nah, just because you’re you.”
“Shut up,” Lexa rolled her eyes and moved, wiggling around, goofy and carefree.
For the entire day, the sisters moved through the crowds, checking out vendors, eating delicious food, listening to speakers, and got decked out in glowing necklaces and rainbows painted on their faces. It was exhausting to be so gay, but Lexa finally understood what she’d been missing in her fear of joining the GSA, and her fear of being out at school. She hadn’t thought about how wonderful it would be to not have to worry about hiding, or at least, not actively living.
“Thank you,” Lexa offered, as the pair stood on the side of the road for the parade. She hugged her sister as the sun began to set between the tall buildings. “This has been the best day of my life.”
“You’re a sap.”
“I am not.”
“You are.”
“I’m not,” she smiled and danced around, her sister not used to such a carefree girl in front of her. “I’m just super gay-- Oops, I’m so sorr--”
Lexa stopped moving after bumping into someone behind her, not paying attention and living her life too widely and too queerly for such a confined area. She gaped and stared at the body she bumped into, more mortified than she’d been in her entire life.
The body came attached to a pretty face. A familiar face. A face with bright blue eyes, and a mischievous grin and a messy bunch of wavy blonde hair. A face that had a tongue ring. A face that was attached to the girl who protested the Sadie Hawkins dance, the pep rally, and last year single handedly turned the swimming pool pink for women’s history month. This was the same face that Lexa couldn’t help but stare at anytime she walked by in the halls at school. This was the face that didn’t even know she existed.
Clarke Griffin stared back in equal parts amazement at the girl who did the bumping. In all of her wildest dreams, she never imagined Lexa Woods, class president, Academic Decathlon team captain, Student of the Quarter, perfect attendance-winning, overall adorable nerd, would be standing next to her at Pride. And not just standing-- dancing, covered in rainbows, and smiling in something other than a primly put together button up shirt with a schedule strapped to her chest.
“Clarke,” Lexa gulped, unable to say anything else, unable to hide her fear and confusion. “I-I-I… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to bump into you. I was just… um… ”
“It’s okay. Kind of close quarters and you were just being super queer,” she returned gracefully as she eyed the entire being of Lexa on summer break. “I didn’t think I’d run into anyone here. I thought everyone left for summer.”
“What are you doing here?”
“Oh, I’m always recruiting people for my zine. Intersectional politics and good music with a queer tint. Honestly, it’s whatever anyone submits. We set up a tiny booth,” Clarke explained, rambling slightly. “And I’m kind of gay.”
“Kind of?”
This was incredibly new and important news to Lexa, even if she didn’t know what to do with it.The entire school knew that Clarke ran with the same crowd, a crowd Lexa didn’t know anything about other than idle gossip. And it always looked like she was very close to Bellamy Blake. Romantically close.
“Bi.”
“You have to go?”
“No-- no… I’m bisexual.”
Lexa felt her face burn and she wanted to melt into a puddle, right there in the early June evening. Maybe disappear into the sewer and wash away into the sea for the rest of time. But she didn’t. Instead, she just stood there, in front of the biggest badass tough guy hot girl she’s ever seen in her entire life.
It was the longest they’d ever spoken, and she’d ruined it in under three minutes after learning that Clarke was gay-ish.
“That’s cool,” she finally managed, earning a small smile.
Clarke pushed some hair away from her face and scratched her neck, using the pause to look at Lexa’s legs. She couldn’t help it. She didn’t try too much.
“Is this your first Pride?”
“Is it that obvious?” Lexa sighed, bashful at her display.
“No, you look cute. I like the festiveness.”
That didn’t help anything at all. Lexa looked around for her sister who made herself busy talking to other people and not at all available to bail her out of saying anymore words.
“I’m gay,” Lexa finally blurted after a prolongued moment of silence.
“That’s cool.”
“Thanks.”
A shout reached them over the noise of the parade, and both looked in that direction.
“I have to um,” Clarke looked over her shoulder at the group that was calling her name. “I have to go catch up with my friends.”
“Right, yeah, definitely.”
“It was good to see you, Woods,” she grinned as she backed away. “I hope I get to bump into you again.”
“Right, yeah! Me, uh. Me too,” Lexa nodded.
With another wave, Clarke was gone, swept up by her friends as they moved through the crowd. Lexa caught the look that Clarke gave her over her shoulder and she smiled because she got a look back. It might not have meant anything, but it still felt kind of good.
“Your first Pride, and you’re getting chatted up by a grade A hottie. I’m impressed,” her sister slung her arm over her shoulder.
“That was just a girl from school.”
“She was not what I pictured for your type.”
“I don’t-- I don’t have a type,” Lexa furrowed.
“Everyone does. It just so happens that yours seems to be punk baddies with probable daddy issues.”
“There’s no way you could know--”
“She was digging you too, by the way.”
“There’s no-- I don’t-- She wouldn’t-- That was-- No,” Lexa shook her head.
“Trust me. I’ve seen gay relief, and that girl was gay relieved you were gay.”
“That’s not a thing.”
“Don’t be mad because i have my ear to the ground in the gay community,” Anya shook her head. “I’ll have you know that Kaitlyn said I’d make a great lesbian.”
“Please let me die right here.”
XXXXXXXXXX
The library on Fourth Street was nearly always empty around the end of lunch time. It seemed to empty out come the hottest part of the day with the normal crowd of parents and kids looking to stay busy during the long summer hours came in for story time and craft projects.
With no particular impetus to move quickly, Lexa pushed her cart of returns through the aisles and rearranged any messy or disorganized stacks she found. But her head wasn’t particularly in it.
Instead, Lexa thought about Pride, and replayed the entire interaction with a certain mild degenerate who had a pretty smile, who called her cute, she realized, halfway through overanalyzing it again for the hundredth time. All she could wonder was if this is what having a crush felt? And if so, was it possible to have crush after just three minutes? Nothing really prepared her for this. How could it? He didn’t have time for a crush. She only had to focus and get into the school she wanted. And then she could be who she thought she might want to be.
“Hey Woods.”
Lexa stopped as she turned to the next aisle, only to find the exact subject of her internal debate. There was a book tucked into her elbow as she retracted an arm reached out to grab something on a top shelf. Lexa looked to her bare arms, and then to her hips where a flannel was tied, and only subtly hiding her short shorts and some of the long legs and Lexa was gay.
“I know it’s a library, but I’m sure you can talk a little bit,” Clarke smiled.
Sunglasses tucked and holding her hair up out of her face, the girl had a motorcycle helmet tucked into the same elbow as the book.
“Hey,” Lexa managed.
“You work here?”
“Yeah, just doing some little things, stacking, kids story time and stuff.”
“Sounds fun,” Clarke nodded. She leaned against the shelf behind her and watched Lexa push her glasses up on the bridge of her nose. This was the Lexa she was used to seeing, and it did nothing to make her less interested, which was insanely weird.
“Here for anything good?”
“Uh, just some of the summer reading for Lit. And I’m kind of interested in a few SAT practice books. I took it already, but there’s one more that I can take before applications are due, and I’d like to see if I can do a little better.”
It certainly wasn’t the reason Lexa expected, but she should have known better to expect anything from someone she really didn’t know other than through stories of stories of stories from other people.
“Sounds like you have a busy summer planned.”
Clarke laughed and ducked her head and Lexa tried not to be entranced by the action.
“Have to keep busy between the protests and debauchery.”
“Right, same.”
“Everyone kind of left for the summer, it seems. It’s kind of nice, isn’t it?”
“I was thinking the same thing,” Lexa agreed. “I miss my friends, but I’ve gotten a lot of things done.”
“I’m sure you’re already done with the summer homework.”
“No… well, just most of it.”
“We’re two weeks into summer break, Woods,” Clarke pretended to admonish. Lexa shrugged, slightly guilty. “We’re going to have to find something to keep you busy.”
“I think work will take care of that.”
“You’re forgetting that I saw you at Pride. I know that you know how to have fun,” she teased, wiggling her eyebrows slightly. “And I know that you find me absolutely irresistible and cute.”
“How could you possibly know that?”
“So you admit it then?”
“What? No,” Lexa shook her head and pushed her cart down the row, looking for the place to put the next in her pile.
But Clarke wasn’t ready to leave, and she hung around, pushing off of the shelf only to follow Lexa and hover closer than Lexa could almost handle.
“You checked me out at Pride.”
“I did not.”
“You did. I saw it. And you let me know you were interested in girls. If you didn’t know yet, I’m a girl, so the math seems to be adding up.”
“Correlation does not imply causation,” Lexa responded quickly. “Your logic is not at all close to sound.”
“So you don’t like me?”
“I don’t even know you. If anything, I just find your face and,” Lexa moved her hand in Clarke’s direction, “that, all, pleasing.”
“Good to know.”
“Who even walks around telling people that they find them attractive. It’s maddening to have that much confidence.”
Lexa jammed the book into the shelf as Clarke leaned beside her, grinning that grin that meant she was amused. That was also maddening. All of it suddenly was maddening, and Lexa missed the quiet of her shelves and wished she could go back in time and not let herself go to Pride. Then she wouldn’t have to see Clarke Griffin.
“I like to have a healthy opinion of myself.” Lexa snorted. “And you should have one of yourself. Want to know a secret?”
It was the smile that did it. And the eyes. But Lexa looked at Clarke and softened somewhat. It was due to the proximity, she told herself. Nothing else that she could control.
“Sure.”
“I didn’t really need these books,” Clarke offered. “I mean, I could have just ordered them online like a normal person. And I live closer to the Redwood Branch.”
“Then why’d you come here?”
“Hard to imagine you’re the valedictorian,” she chuckled. “I came to see you.”
“Me?”
“Yeah. I saw you at Pride and was intrigued. Thought I might feel it out a little bit.”
“Why are you telling me this?”
“Why not, Woods?” Clarke sighed. “I’ve got nothing but time and… well, I didn’t know you were into girls.”
“How can you be so just… How can you just say what you’re thinking?”
“Lots of practice,” she smiled.
“I could never imagine just… just… just…” Lexa waved her hands around slightly as she tried to explain what she couldn’t. “I couldn’t just do that. What if it went badly?”
“Is it going badly?”
“No, but-- wait. Maybe. What I mean is…” It didn’t help that Clarke was leaning closer and Lexa was stuck in the stacks with a girl that was flirting with her and she’d never had that before and it was way better than she could have ever imagined. “Wouldn’t ou have been embarrassed if I just ignored you or something?”
“Oh yeah, big time,” Clarke nodded. “But my dad used to tell me to do one thing every day that scared me. Figured I’d get it done before dinnertime today.”
She was charming and honest and refreshing and unlike anyone Lexa had ever met. It was a whirlwind.
“I have to finish this before my shift ends,” she tore her eyes away from Clarke’s and looked back at her cart.
“Right, yeah, definitely,” Clarke agreed.
“I should do that.”
“I should go check these out.”
“Maybe I’ll see you around this summer.”
“Yeah,” Clarke grinned. “Maybe.”
Lexa stood there as Clarke turned back toward reception.
“Clarke-- I um,” Lexa watched as she turned around. “I’ve never flirted… with anyone, really.”
“That is surprising news.”
She could tell from her tone that it wasn’t news, and Lexa pursed her lips and set her jaw. She stood a little straighter, steeling herself.
“I hope I see you around.”
“We do seem to keep running into each other.”
With a final smile, Clarke winked and disappeared.
XXXXXXXXXX
Standing outside of the house on the corner, Clarke looked at the perfectly trimmed hedges and the flag that hung by the door. The lawn was manicured and neat, the house was beautiful, lit up and glowing with life inside in the waning light. It was in the suburbs and insanely suburban. A tire swing hung from a giant oak. A basketball hoop hung over the garage.
For the life of her, Clarke wasn’t sure how she ended up here, except that she made herself stand awkwardly in front of Lexa Wood’s house. Three years ago, she met Lexa as a freshman, and instantly had a crush on the girl who argued with her in history class. But Clarke also decided to avoid having a crush on the cute girl who pushed up her glasses and tried very hard to be absolutely perfect.
She still kind of always had a crush, despite her refusal to admit it. For the past three years, Clarke tried to make Lexa smile from time to time. She’d do something stuipd and make sure Lexa was watching.
But Pride was one of the few times in the past year they’d spoken. And Clarke was certain that now was her chance, so she took it. And after the library, she spent every day for a week and a  half showing up at the library. She brought Lexa lunch a few times, followed her around the stacks, chatting and fully developing a crush. It was easy to do. Lexa was funny, and serious, and witty, and quiet, and smart, like ridiculously smart, and she wasn’t afraid of Clarke, or intimidated. She debated her with vigor, had opinions, had plans, and more importantly, had dreams.
Clarke knew why she was standing on Lexa’s front porch, and she knew why she was slightly nervous to knock, she just hated someone being able to do that, in equal parts as much as she craved it.
She took a deep breath and reminded herself that this was good before she knocked.
“Hey,” Lexa greeted her, smiling and pushing up her glasses as she does her best to not look winded from running to the door.
“Hey,” Clarke sighs,  matching her grin, forgetting all of the thoughts of before. “You look really nice.”
“Thanks. I, uh, you too. I like the black eye in particular.”
“Oh, this?” she motioned toward the eye that had a little bruising. “Just, um. Bopped myself in the face while working out.”
“What were you doing? Boxing?”
“Krav Maga. My partner got a little overzealous.”
“Goodness.”
“I’ll try to be extra charming to make up for my disfigurement. I hope your gentle eyes can make it past my horrible appearance.”
“I’ll do my best to look past it.”
“Good,” Clarke smiled and handed over a helmet. “Are you ready for the first date?”
“As ready as I’ll ever be.”
They walked toward the motorcycle sitting near the curb. Clarke pressed her palm to the flat of Lexa’s back. She handed over a helmet and Lexa looked at it curiously.
“For your protection. Have you ever ridden on anything like this before?”
“I’ve driven go karts.”
“Not the same thing,” Clarke chuckled. “Here, I’ll help.”
The helmet eclipsed her, but Lexa tilted it upwards so that Clarke’s skilled fingers could tighten the strap beneath it. She lifted the visor and watched Clarke work.
“I feel like a badass.”
“You are.”
“Do I look the part?” Lexa asked, smiling slightly as Clarke hopped on the motorcycle and put on her own helmet.
“Very much,” she promised, flipping down both of their visors. “Hold on tight.”
The date wasn’t anything fancy, but Clarke was hoping it was enough. They drove to the park, with Lexa’s arms wrapped tightly around her, and she took the long way, nice and slow, just for that reason.
The park was busy, fully of people ready to enjoy the evening and a movie. Clarke unloaded a blanket and her backpack full of snacks, fully prepared to show off her dateable skills. From what she knew about Lexa, she assumed it was her first first date, and she was going to set the bar extremely high.
Before the movie started, they talked about nothing in particular, and Clarke was careful to get in a little teasing, which Lexa returned, smiling the entire time, challenging her. During the movie, Clarke let Lexa lay her head on her lap, and shivered because she gave her the only sweatshirt she had.
Even after it ended, they remained, hanging out in the twilight and talking, hovering, close and unsure and happy. Later into the night, after another trip back to Lexa’s, Clarke bashfully stood on the porch and earned a hug and completely bungled the kiss, unable to read Lexa and unable to make herself that brave.
“Did you have a good time?” Clarke ventured, leaning against the railing.
“I really did. Thank you.”
“Maybe we could do it again sometime.”
“I’d like that.”
“Good.”
“Good.”
“Great,” Clarke grinned.
“Great.”
XXXXXXXXXX
It was almost like a game at this point, for Lexa to stumble upon Clarke somewhere in the library during her shift. Rarely was it in the same place twice, and rarely was it when she was expecting it, though she found herself always looking forward to the smile and girl that sometimes brought her snacks.
For the first month of summer break, Lexa didn’t even realize she’d spent most of it talking to or spending time with Clarke Griffin. It just kind of happened, and she found herself getting attached. She found herself flirting, or so she thought. She definitely found herself flirted with, which was still so wonderful.
Clarke wasn’t what she’d thought. She was insanely frustrating and still too hot for her own good, and smarter than she wanted anyone to know, while at the same time being absolutely addicted to her moral code and her’s alone.
In a month, Lexa learned that Clarke was not in a gang, despite everyone thinking it was a gang, but rather had a close knit group of friends that occasionally contributed to shenanigans of a disruptive nature. She learned that she was a hell of an artist, sketching things here and there, and when they ventured out on a hike or spent time lounging around, showed her sketchbook very timidly. She learned that Clarke’s father died three years ago, and that was where she disappeared to freshman year. She learned that Clarke liked to work on her motorcycle herself instead of taking to a shop because she wanted to feel closer to her father. Lexa spent an entire afternoon learning parts of the bike and helping with an oil change.
For an entire month, Clarke pushed Lexa. She pushed her to go on dates. She pushed her to jump off of the old bridge foundation at the river when they went swimming. She pushed her to watch a few movies she wasn’t sure of. She pushed her to egg street signs for the first time ever.
“Excuse me, but I’m looking for a book about a cute librarian who has a crush on a girl named Clarke. Know where I can find that?”
Lexa smiled despite herself as she turned the corner in one of the farther aisles in the library’s second floor.
“I was just thinking about you.”
“All good things I hope.”
“More or less.”
That seemed like good enough for Clarke who returned Lexa’s smile. The two stood there, close in the tight aisle, but used to the proximity.
“I was wondering if you’d like to come over tonight. We could watch a movie and you could read my essay and give a million edit suggestions. I’ll even let you use your red pen.”
“It shows up better.”
“Yeah yeah,” Clarke humored her.
“I’ll be over after dinner then.”
“Good.”
“Were you leaving already?” Lexa furrowed as Clarke shoulder her backpack and shifted instead of getting comfortable or even grabbing some of the books to help her put back on the shelves.
“I have to see a guy about a thing.”
“Just a drive by today, and no snack?”
“Like I would ever leave you wanting,” Clarke tsk’d as she dug in her bag and pulled out Lexa’s favorite assortment of gummy bears. “I know what you like, Woods.”
“You’re spoiling me. I’ll have to start working out more often or I’ll be too slow for track.”
“You’re fit. I mean, you’re--”
“Perv.”
“Sometimes,” Clarke shrugged.
Lexa held her bag of snacks in her hand and smiled at them softly. She saw Clarke’s shoes nearly touching her own, and when she looked up, she realized how close they truly were. But she didn’t move. She just stood there and tried to figure out what Clarke’s eyes were saying, because they were furrowed until they weren’t, and then there was a peace there, a decisive calm.
Lexa felt a hand on her shirt, grasping it near her heartbeat. Clarke paused before she did it, waiting for Lexa to pull away, asking for permission. Only when she got it, did she lean forward and kiss Lexa enough to take her breath away. The only thing Lexa could hear was the blood thumping in her ears, but she ignored it and kissed Clarke back eagerly.
“Thanks, Woods,” Clarke murmured after a few seconds. “I needed that.”
“Yeah, no, yeah.”
“I’ll see you later.”
“Right, later, mhm,” Lexa nodded and ran her thumb along her bottom lip as Clarke moved, leaving her rooted and blushing.
“If you liked that, we could do it more often,” Clarke offered as she walked backward out of the shelves.
“Sounds very good to me.”

Beautiful Mistakes
AO3 @tsshipmonth2020
Masterpost- Previous- Next
Summary-  Remy can't think before he has his coffee and that causes problems for him and his soulmate.
A/N- Slightly altered so that the marks disappear a few minutes after they’ve been received.
Day 9 Remile- Whatever you draw on your skin shows up on your soulmate
Emile could feel the slight itch on his cheek that indicated a message from his soulmate had appeared. He flushed with embarrassment but kept his composure. He quickly scrawled on his wrist.
Not now, Rem. I'm with a client.
He turned back to his patients with a smile and his wrist itched as Remy replied.
Oops
"Doc, you okay?"
"My apologies, my soulmate likes to send messages when he wakes up. Except he works… at night," Emile sighed, affectionately yet exasperated.
"Well the flags look cute, I guess as long as you're okay with your patients knowing..." Dot smiled and nodded encouragingly.
Emile paled, "he didn't…"
"I think he did," Larry replied.
Emile put a hand to his cheek, "it's a pride flag isn't it?"
"Oh don't worry, Doc! It's so cute! Larry, isn't it cute?"
"He's going to be rather upset with me. I can't check it, and he's not out at work yet… but enough about me, back to Dorry! Or if you prefer, Larrydot?? " Emile grinned despite the looks of confusion the couple were giving him. His cheek and wrist continued to itch but he insisted on staying focused on the session.
By the time Larry and Dot were leaving, the itching had crawled up his forearm. Remy must be rather upset.
He checked his watch. The next appointment was in 20 minutes. He could take 5 to read through the tirade and would still be able to review notes for the next couple. He rolled up his sleeve to see a block of text that grew more frantic the farther it got up his arm.
Babe check out the drawing!
I worked hard on that girl pls appreciate me
Em i have work in an hour
Look. At. Your. Cheek.
This isn't funny!
Okay it was supposed to be funny but i can't have a gay flag on my face at work they will kill me!!!!
Bitch
Bitch
You don't love me im gonna die because you don't love me
No one is gonna believe me if i have to lie about this
Please????
>:[
Emile chuckled and wrote back quickly.
This is your fault for drawing on your cheek. You know I work and can't check messages right away.
He checked the time again and pulled out his phone, opening the camera app. He admired the little gay flag crossed with a pan flag. He took a quick selfie to preserve the drawing on his phone. It really was sweet, if unfortunately timed. Luckily, most of his clients would be fairly understanding. Remy's coworkers on the other hand would not.
The tirade on his arm had faded and  been replaced with a new line from Remy.
Don't judge me I didn't have my coffee yet girl
Emile chuckled and pulled his sleeve back down, finding the file and notes he had for the next couple's session.
Remy sat in his car, obsessively checking the mirror until the flags on his cheek faded away. The last thing he needed was to get outed by a soul mark. He was usually late anyway because of the line at Starbucks, what harm would one more day do?
A lot of harm, apparently.
His boss was waiting by the loading dock, impatiently tapping his foot as Remy strolled up.
"'Sup? What are we-"
"Don't even bother clocking in. You don't do shit here and this is the fifth time you've been late this month. You're done."
Remy sputtered, "this is homophobic!"
His boss stared hard at him, eyes narrowing, "You're lazy and you're gay? You're FIRED!"
"Whatever! Your loss, you prick!" Remy turned and flipped the man off as he walked back to his car. He got in and locked the doors, taking some deep breaths. He considered writing to Emile, but decided this was probably an in-person topic.
He restarted the car and drove home, mentally preparing for a lot of explaining.
Emile was surprised to see Remy's car in the driveway when he got home and more than a little concerned. He parked and hurried inside. He found his soulmate sitting in the dark, sipping coffee, and scrolling instagram.
"Remy? Are you okay?"
"Got fired."
"Oh my stars! What happened?"
Remy gave an exasperated sigh, "he didn't like me being late. He also blamed me being gay so idk maybe there's a lawsuit there."
"Was it because of the flags? I tried to check as soon as possible…"
"No… I'm usually late anyway," Remy sank deeper into the couch and Emile moved to sit down next to him, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Maybe it was time for a career change. You can find somewhere more accepting with less crazy hours."
"Maybe I'll become a stripper. They make good money right?" Remy mused, leaning into Emile’s side. The other man wrapped him in a one armed hug.
"While I am sure you'd be a natural, I'd be very concerned for your safety as a sex worker, dear. What about something you're passionate about?" Emile tried to be encouraging, numbers running through his head calculating exactly how long they could live off a single salary.
The outlook was not super promising.
"Don't worry, babe, I'll do some research tonight and fill out some applications. Promise," Remy gave Emile a smile that was skin deep, "what do you want for dinner? I'm starving."
After a week of Remy submitting applications and hearing nothing back, Emile was about ready to suggest the exotic dancer route himself. It wasn't that they were under financial stress (yet), moreso that Remy was a lot more rambunctious being cooped at home during the night. He kept waking Emile up too early and the loss of sleep was starting to affect his clients.
"Hey Doc? You're kinda unusually quiet today…"
Emile shook himself back to alertness, "sorry about that Elliott, where were we?"
"Um," they tapped their fingers together while thinking, "I think I was talking about how my soulmate never writes back. They check every message but I never get any from them. It doesn't… feel good."
"Remember what we've said before, Elliott, your worth isn't based on your soulmate. Whatever reason they choose not to write back, the fact of the matter is that you're still an amazing and powerful person in your own right."
Emile was interrupted by an itching on his wrist. Remy would usually still be asleep by now it was late enough in the morning.
He resisted the urge to check the mark as he spoke with Elliott and he could feel the itch crawling up his arm.
After the session, Emile quickly pulled up his sleeve, praying for good news.
I GOT IT!!!
Finally got an interview for tomorrow!!
<3 <3 <3
There were several more hearts and Emile allowed himself a small smile of relief. He doodled back a heart or two for Remy before returning his focus back to work.
They could celebrate when that interview turned into a position.
He greeted the next couple with a broader smile and a tad more exuberance, much to their dismay.
Remy was nervous. This job sounded too good to be true and they'd practically hired him on the spot. He wasn't about to let his soulmate down though.
He followed the man down the hall, sipping his tea for comfort.
"Honestly just don't let anyone eat anything inedible or hit each other and you'll do great," the man smiled, showing Remy into a room with a dozen kids and two other frazzled looking adults.
Piece of cake right?
Emile was in the middle of a session when he felt the itch on his cheek. He tried to smile through it, but then he felt more itches on his legs and arms and nose. His clients were too preoccupied actually talking through their issue with each other so Emile checked his arm to find a rainbow of scribbles that kept growing.
He put a hand to his face to cover his nose and cheek. What had Remy gotten himself into?
Pretty soon his clients were used to seeing Emile with colorful marks all over his face. He explained that his soulmate worked with kids and almost everyone nodded knowingly. He did ask that if they ever saw an inappropriate drawing they let him know so he could check it right away.
Some days he would draw little cartoons for the kids to fill in. They loved that and he always sent them little hearts back when they did a good job (they always did a good job).
And most importantly, Remy was having a great time with his job and got to be home at nights, so they saw each other a lot more often. They both enjoyed that.

Duality, Chapter 3 (Crygi) - Metaluna
Chapter summary: *Stefon from Saturday Night Live voice* this chapter has everything, awkward morning afters, time jumps, anniversary sex, and fluff
A/N: I am SO sorry that I keep forgetting to submit to here, especially if you only read fics on here, but as a reminder all of my fics on ao3 (this has two more chapters oops)
When Crystal woke up, there was a quilt delicately draped over her body. The events of the previous night were foggy. As she thought about it further, she wasn’t sure if she was remembering correctly. Crystal remembered going home with Gigi, and remembered having sex. Amazing sex. But, halfway through, she could have sworn that Gigi bit her leg, and upon thinking even further, could have sworn Gigi said she was a vampire.
Impossible.
Crystal sat up and looked around. It was still dark outside, meaning she could probably step away, unnoticed, and could try her best to forget about the fact she may or may not have slept with a fucking vampire. She carefully put her dress on, looking at the torn-up thong on the ground, with a sigh. It was her favorite. Crystal realized Gigi was nowhere to be found, but the door was shut, and she could see the light coming from underneath.
Crystal knew her plans of sneaking out without Gigi noticing were slim, but she tried to formulate a game plan. She looked out the window, but then remembered they were on the third floor. For a second, Crystal tried to determine how injured she would get if she jumped out of a third story window.
There was no other way than to just walk through the front door. It was a one-night stand, what did Gigi expect?
She slowly opened the door, and saw that Gigi was sitting on the couch, petting a cat, watching a movie. Crystal knew it was stupid, but she tried her best to sneak behind Gigi, who appeared to be engrossed in the movie
Gigi turned her head as Crystal swore silently. “You’re awake.”
“Uh-huh. I was just leaving…”
“Why?” Gigi asked, genuinely curious.
“You’re joking, right?” Gigi raised an eyebrow. “You don’t have a lot of one-night stands, do you?”
Gigi shook her head.
“Well, generally, one doesn’t stay and chat afterwards. In fact, ideally, the person who the apartment doesn’t belong to can wake up before the other person, and can leave, never to be seen again.”
“What do you remember about last night?” Gigi asked.
“I remember you tearing my thong off of me. I remember that the sex was incredible . But, I remember something weird… But I probably just had a dream or something.”
“What do you supposedly remember?”
“You had… fangs… You asked for me to consent, like, a lot, which is great. Consent is key. Anyway, you said you were… a vampire. Which, like, isn’t possible. Vampires aren’t real.”
“They’re not?”
To Crystal’s surprise, after Gigi smiled as two fangs slid down from where her canines were.
“What the fuck?” Crystal whispered.
“If you’d like, I can make you forget about everything. This past night, my vampirism, me as a whole…”
Crystal bit her lip as she weighed the pros and cons. The pros included she’d forget about vampires existing. The cons were that she’d forget quite possibly the best sex she’d ever had, and that she’d forget about vampires existing.
“No…” Crystal trailed off.
“Are you certain?”
Crystal shook her head. “But uh, I think I’m going to leave to process this.”
“That’s understandable.”
“Do you uh, want my number? Honestly that was great sex. I’m down to fuck again.”
Gigi smirked. “I’m glad to know that it was good. I’ve unfortunately been in about a twenty-year dry spell.”
Crystal was taken aback. “When I process this can we maybe talk? About… things? If you want? Or you can just fuck me again… If you want.”
“Are you serious?” Gigi asked incredulously. “You’re asking me to fuck you again when you passed out once you came last night?”
Crystal flushed. “You’re right. Do you want my number or not?”
“I wouldn’t be opposed,” Gigi said, petting the cat next to her as she handed Crystal her phone.
As Crystal handed back her phone, Gigi stifled a laugh. “Your name is not Crystal Methyd.”
Once again, Crystal flushed. “My parents hate me… Anyway. This was… something. Call me. If you want. Or don’t. I’m sure you’re busy… With whatever it is you do.”
“Servicing dead bodies?” Gigi smirked, repeating Crystal’s comment from the previous night.
“Yeah. That. Okay, bye.”
Gigi didn’t know how a human was going to react when told they just had sex with a vampire. She thought she was going to have to glamour the girl, thinking that she would be traumatized. To Gigi’s surprise, Crystal not only was calm about the entire situation, but also seemed intrigued. Again, proving Crystal was not like other humans.
Akasha meowed as she rubbed her head against Gigi’s hand.
“I know, Akasha. For the first time in nearly a century, I’m at a loss.”
In an attempt to get her mind off of Crystal and the events of the night, Gigi decided to watch The Lost Boys . She began thinking more about Crystal, not realizing that the movie had ended.
Shutting the TV off, she looked at her phone. It was still on the contacts screen. Crystal wrote her name as Crystal Methyd with the blood drop emoji after it. She decided to text her so Crystal could save her number, at least that’s what she told herself, even though she didn’t fully believe it.
Hello. This is Gigi. I just figured you would want to have my number, too.
Checking the time, it was only five in the morning, meaning Crystal was probably asleep. Considering Gigi drank enough blood to nearly kill Crystal, she more than likely would need to sleep it off.
To Gigi’s surprise, Crystal texted back ten minutes later.
oh hi! it’s good to hear from you! tbh i thought you were gonna ghost me
Gigi wasn’t sure why Crystal didn’t capitalize anything in her sentences. Why wouldn’t anyone use proper grammar? It’s not like it was hard.
Are you feeling okay? You should probably get some sleep. If I’m being honest, I took a little bit more blood than I intended. Heat of the moment.
omg i cant believe a hot vampire almost killed me purely from being too horny. anyway yea i just happened to wake up for a sec and saw the notif
I… honestly don’t know how to respond to that, because you are 100 percent correct. Which I hate.
lmaoo usually i take at LEAST two days to text a girl, and at minimum three to ask her out. but, do you wanna meet up later?
Gigi was genuinely shocked at Crystal’s confidence.
That sounds wonderful, I had nothing planned today.
how about the park? what time is good for you? also wont you like burst into flames or something if it’s daytime?
…I don’t sleep. Also, you can’t believe every myth about vampires you hear in popular culture. I don’t particularly enjoy the sun, but I’ll be fine.
omg, good to know.  so, i feel really tired which now i know is because your horny vampire ass lost control. can i text you when i wake up?
Gigi rolled her eyes.
I’m choosing to ignore the middle part of that sentence. Yes, text me when you feel up to it.
Part of Crystal didn’t want to text Gigi once she woke up. When she thought about the fact that she had sex with a really fucking hot vampire, she couldn’t believe it. It sounded insane. Another part of Crystal wanted to text her back asking her to Men in Black her so that she couldn’t remember the night. The last part of Crystal wanted to text Gigi back, talk to her, and hook up again. The sex was incredible, and she felt selfish for falling asleep before she could fuck her back. It was only fair for them to hook up at least one more time.
She wasn’t going to do it. She was going to just try to forget the one-night stand and go on with her life. Crystal had work to do for the museum, especially if she was going to impress her boss, Sasha, enough for a promotion. Becoming the creative director of the Chicago Museum of Visual Arts was more important than sex could ever be.
Just as she decided she wasn’t going to meet up with Gigi, she overheard her roommates argue about dishes. It wasn’t arguing, it was more of a screaming match. Crystal rolled over in bed and used her pillow to muffle the sound, which didn’t work.
She sighed as she picked up her phone.
hey! just woke up, i feel like i have the world’s worst hangover. anyway, do you wanna meet up in like an hour?
Gigi texted back quickly. Crystal was always impressed with the perfect grammar and capitalization Gigi used. Who had the time for that? Definitely not Crystal.
Yes, that’s the after-effect of having been fed on, unfortunately. I hope that it was worth it, though. I’ll see you in an hour.
Usually, Crystal was an extremely confident person. She had to be in order to move up at the museum as quickly as she did. But, while she was getting ready to meet with Gigi, she felt like crawling into a hole. Everything in her closet was suddenly ugly, and every way she did her makeup looked bad.
Eventually, Crystal gave up and wore minimal makeup and a flannel.
The park was walking distance from her apartment. Since it was September, the city was cooling down, not enough to be freezing, but enough to need a jacket. Crystal thanked herself for wearing a flannel.
Because she lived so close to the park, she got there before Gigi did. She almost sat on a bench directly in the sun to warm up, but then remembered Gigi saying that she didn’t like the sun, so she decided on a bench under a large tree.
Crystal checked her phone. It was noon. Where was Gigi?
Just as she started to feel discouraged, her phone vibrated.
Hello, sorry. My cat decided to vomit on my rug, so I had to take care of it. Be there soon.
Gigi made good, and showed up to the park ten minutes later. She found Crystal, and sat down on the bench next to her.
“Is your cat okay?” Crystal asked.
“Yes, she’s fine.”
“Good.”
There was an awkward pause.
Gigi began running her fingers up and down the necklace she was wearing. “I’m sure you have a lot of questions.”
“I don’t really know where to start,” Crystal said.
“Nothing is off-limits, if it gets too bad I’ll just glamour you, and we can start over.” Gigi waved her hand in front of Crystal’s face.
Crystal didn’t say anything.
“I’m kidding.”
“Oh.” Crystal could appreciate a dry sense of humor, but damn. “Okay, first question. Do you do that with all the people you… eat?”
“Well, to start, I don’t eat people, I feed from them. Secondly, no. You’re the first.”
Crystal felt an odd sense of pride. “Really? Why?”
“Honestly, I have no idea,” Gigi admitted. “I don’t know what came over me. Usually, I bring people back to the funeral home, feed off of them, kill them, and dispose of the evidence.”
Crystal was shocked by how freely she was talking about murder. “Oh! That’s another question. Why do you work at a funeral home? Like, why work at all? Don’t vampires just brood about their existence, or something?”
“It may not seem like it, but brooding for nearly a century gets old after a point. Back in the eighties, I decided I was too bored brooding, and a funeral home just seemed like a good fit. Having the blood from the bodies is a plus, too.”
“Wait. How old are you?” Crystal asked.
“I was born in 1905.”
Crystal was shocked. “I know I like older women, but goddamn.”
“Thanks,” Gigi said dryly. “If it makes a difference, I was twenty-two when I transformed.”
“Well if you look at it like that, I’m older than you. By four years. Random one, but can you read minds?”
“I can’t personally, but it’s possible, yes.”
“Wait, what?”
“Vampires can form a psychic bond between themselves and a human, but it’s not very common. I don’t personally know any vampires who have done it. We tend to not get that close to humans, myself included,” Gigi said looking away from Crystal.
“Next question. What was so different about me? Like, you say you don’t get close to humans, but here we are, in the middle of this park, talking about how you’re…” Crystal realized she raised her voice a little too loudly causing a woman who was walking her dog to look at them.
“A funeral director?” Gigi said, trying to recover. “I’ve tried racking my brain around everything that happened, and I have no idea why I took you back to my apartment, and I don’t know why I let everything else… unfold.”
“Oh,” Crystal said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Not that I regret it, not by any means.”
“You did say you lost control in the heat of the moment. Let’s just say that I’m so intoxicatingly attractive, you had no choice but to be engrossed by me.”
Gigi rolled her eyes. “Sure. Let’s go with that.”
“Can you turn into a bat?”
Gigi sighed and rested her head in her hands. There was something special about this girl.
One year later
Crystal rubbed her hands together as she blew in them in an attempt to create heat. It was late, past midnight, but it was she and Gigi’s favorite time to walk in the park. It was almost always empty, which they appreciated.
“It’s so cold,” Crystal complained. “You’re lucky you can’t get cold.”
Gigi rubbed her own hands together and rubbed Crystal’s upper arms.
“Stop! You aren’t helping. You’re always cold, and you’re making it worse.” Crystal led the two of them to a bench.
“This is the bench where I told you everything,” Gigi mused.
Crystal rested her head on her girlfriend and smiled. “I can’t believe it’s been a year.”
“Happy anniversary, darling,” Gigi said kissing Crystal’s forehead.
“Happy anniversary, baby.”
Since there wasn’t an official date that Gigi and Crystal started calling each other girlfriends, they decided to go with the date Crystal learned everything.
“You were just complaining about how cold I was, and now you’re pressed up against my body.”
Crystal held her hand up as she shut her eyes. “Shh, don’t ruin the moment, babe.”
Gigi rolled her eyes as she held Crystal’s hand. “I never in my undead life thought that I would be in love with a human.”
“Not trying to be gay, but I’m so proud of how far you’ve come this past year.”
“How so?”
“Well, the second time that we hung out you went on a tangent about how you hated basically ever human you’ve ever met but me. Oh, and in general, you’re just a lot nicer to humans that aren’t me. Like, remember that time we went to the mall and that lady cut you off and you looked like you were going to kill everyone in the mall? Like, fangs out and everything?”
Gigi rubbed the smooth pendant of her necklace. “I don’t recall what you’re talking about.”
“Liar. You’re playing with your necklace. I know you, baby.”
Pursing her lips, Gigi tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “You do.”
“Crystal! Fuck! ” Gigi moaned as she reached climax, her hips rocking as she sat on her rightful throne, Crystal’s face. As Crystal skillfully flicked her tongue over Gigi’s clit, it took everything in her power to not crush her girlfriend’s face with her thighs.
Coming down from her climax, Gigi  adjusted herself so that she was straddling Crystal.
“Do you want to go for round six?” Gigi’s tone was innocent, but her smile was sinful.
Crystal shook her head. “I want to be able to walk tomorrow.”
“Fair enough,” Gigi said as she laid her head on the pillow next to Crystal. “I love you, darling. Happy anniversary.”
“Happy anniversary,” Crystal said tenderly kissing her girlfriend.
Gigi bit her finger and drew blood as she rubbed it over Crystal’s neck where she’d fed from which caused the puncture marks to disappear as if they’d never been there. “I know you like having the marks on your thighs.”
“They’re like souvenirs!” Crystal said happily tracing one of the marks on her left thigh.
“You are so strange.”
“You love me.”
“You’re right,” Gigi said, kissing her girlfriend.
Crystal yawned. “How much blood did you take tonight?”
Gigi looked away, licking her finger.
“Baby!” Crystal whined.
“You certainly weren’t complaining when my head was between your legs, darling. Especially during round three.”
Crystal yawned again, nestling into Gigi’s arms. “True. I love you.”
“Love you, too.”
Gigi usually only waited for Crystal to fall asleep before she went into the living room. But, Crystal looked so peaceful so she stayed a little longer, just taking in the sight of her beautiful love. Eventually, she carefully crept out of the bed and kissed Crystal’s forehead. Ensuring the blankets were on just as Crystal liked, Gigi quietly shut the door.
It’s not that Gigi particularly liked watching TV and movies as much as she did, but she had nothing better to pass the time. Scrolling through Netflix, she settled on The Haunting of Hill House.
Silently critiquing inconsistencies in the funeral home in the show, she heard Crystal open the bedroom door.
“Darling? Could you not sleep?”
Crystal didn’t reply, but instead ran into the bathroom and shut the door. Gigi heard Crystal turn the bathroom fan on. Try she may, Crystal couldn’t silence the sound of her vomiting from her girlfriend’s heightened hearing.
Gigi knocked on the bathroom door lightly. “Crystal?”
No response.
“Crystal, are you okay?”
Crystal only groaned in response.
“Can I come in?”
No response.
“I’m coming in.”
Gigi had seen a lot of things in her life that should have made her sad that didn’t. Seeing her love laying on the bathroom floor resting her head against the toilet seat was extremely upsetting. Crystal groaned again, which caused Gigi to kneel down by her.
Stroking Crystal’s hair, Gigi said, “What do you need me to do?”
Crystal groaned again before looking at Gigi. “Heidi was out sick with the flu the other day, and I’m just remembering now that we shared a sandwich.”
“Oh, darling, that’s probably why you’re so exhausted.”
“I’m sorry I blamed you,” Crystal mumbled.
“Shh, it’s okay.” Gigi effortlessly picked Crystal up and carried her to bed.
“My hero,” Crystal said, swooning dramatically.
“Do you need anything?”
“Water.”
Rarely did Gigi use her vampire speed. Most of the time, it wasn’t necessary, especially recently. But, this was necessary. She returned before Crystal could blink.
“That’s new,” Crystal said as she graciously took the glass.
“I don’t do that often. It’s not needed.”
“Getting your girlfriend water was a circumstance of needing to become The Flash?”
“Yes,” Gigi said as she got into bed with Crystal and covered them with the blankets.
Crystal sat the glass on the nightstand as she fell asleep in her girlfriend’s loving embrace.
It took Crystal barely ten minutes to fall back asleep. It was six in the morning, and Gigi knew she wasn’t going into work. She had a sick girlfriend to take care of.
Gigi scrolled through her contacts until she found Jackie’s number.
Jackie answered the phone instantly. “Gigi? Is everything okay? Do you need me to come in early?”
“Everything’s okay, no not unless you want to. But that’s not why I’m calling. I’m calling because I have a very sick girlfriend who I need to tend to. I’m not going to be coming in today. Do you think you can handle yourself?”
“As long as there’s no one that needs any reconstruction work.”
It was enduring to Gigi that Jackie referred to the bodies as people.
Gigi sighed. “Okay, if that happens, call me and I’ll come in.”
“Tell Crystal I say feel better soon!”
“Of course.”
Now that work was taken care of, Gigi had to go to the grocery store. Before she and Crystal started dating, Gigi hadn’t stepped foot in a grocery store in nearly a century. In the past year, she’d become well-versed on where everything was kept. After picking up all the ingredients she needed, she returned home, hoping she still knew how to be a good little housewife-to-be.
Before becoming a vampire, Gigi already had an incredible memory. Vampirism only heightened it, meaning Gigi could remember almost every recipe that her mother taught her how to make. Even though Crystal didn’t cook often, she still had a nice collection of pots and pans.
Gigi was so engrossed in cooking, she didn’t realize Crystal had migrated from the bed to the couch.
“Babe, what are you doing?” Crystal asked as she sat up on the couch.
“You need to eat.”
“It’s only eight, and the last thing I want to do is eat.”
“It’ll take some time for the soup to cook.”
Crystal raised an eyebrow. “Baby, I love you, but you haven’t cooked anything in like ninety years, and now you’re making me soup from scratch?”
Gigi sat on the arm of the couch as she stroked her girlfriend’s hair. “I think that you’re forgetting I was in training to be a housewife.”
“God, I can only imagine how adorable you must have looked in a poofy dress and apron,” Crystal said before she fell into a coughing fit, somehow still managing to laugh.
“You’ve called me many different names this past year, but I think ‘adorable’ is a first.”
“Honestly, I’d pay a lot of dollars to see what you looked like as a human.”
Suddenly, Gigi got an idea. “Hold that thought.”
Gigi went into the bedroom and laid on her stomach. Using her phone’s flashlight, she first saw her and Crystal’s box of sex toys, but deeper under the bed was a much smaller box. Stretching as far she could, Gigi reached the box.
Before leaving the bedroom, Gigi made sure to take one thing out of the box before returning to Crystal.
“You said you wanted to see what I looked like as a human?”
Crystal nodded. “I’d literally pay to see it.”
“Well, pay up, love.” Gigi handed Crystal three framed photos from when she was a human.
“How did you get these?”
“A few months after I was turned, I snuck into my parent’s home in the middle of the night.”
Crystal gasped and put her hand over her mouth. They were definitely her girlfriend. Her facial expression mirrored when she had to interact with humans she found annoying. Gigi’s eyes were what were the most unmistakable part of  the photo. Even though they were in black and white, somehow Gigi’s eyes still had the sparkle that Crystal adored. Despite the photos being in black and white, it was still easy to see that Gigi was wearing light colors, something that didn’t normally happen.
The first photo was Gigi and a girl who looked just like her.
“Is that Nora?” Crystal asked. It had taken Gigi quite some time before she talked about her human life, but one night, Gigi and Crystal spent the entire night up until the early morning talking about her human life.
Gigi nodded.
“She’s beautiful.”
The next photo was a family photo. Crystal smiled as she saw that Gigi looked just like her mother. “You all look like each other.”
“That’s what everyone always told us.”
The final photo made Crystal gasp audibly. “Holy shit.”
Crystal wasn’t entirely sure if she was seeing what she thought she saw. The man in the photo with Gigi, who she presumed was her fiance, was a face she’d seen in her middle school history books.
“What?”
“You were engaged to James Rossini?” Crystal asked incredulously.
Gigi nodded.
“Did you know he was one of Chicago’s biggest mobsters back then?”
Gigi shook her head. “He and his father were always very secretive about what they did for a living. Nora ended up marrying his cousin. He mainly kept the books and didn’t kill anyone, which is why you’ve never heard of him.”
“God, I can just see you as a fancy schmancy mob wife, babe. In a huge mansion surrounded by nice things,” Crystal said.
“Well, now I buy myself nice things,” Gigi said looking around their apartment.
Crystal couldn’t stop staring at the photos. It was as though she saw a side of her girlfriend that she never thought she would ever get to see.
Crystal managed to doze off again, but was woken up by the sound of the oven timer. She peeked over the couch and saw Gigi was smiling at the photos before she got up to check on the soup boiling on the stove.
Every so often, there were moments where Crystal could see her girlfriend’s vulnerability. They were extremely rare, but when they happened, it was as though she was looking at a different person. Gigi’s coldness towards most people was an act that Crystal could see right through, even if Gigi wasn’t aware of it.
“Are you hungry, darling?”
“A little,” Crystal said sitting up on the couch.
Gigi brought over a bowl and the ginger ale that Crystal swore could cure cancer.
“I used to make this all the time when my family members were sick. I’m sure it’s not nearly as good as it was when I used to make it regularly.” Gigi took the seat on the couch next to Crystal.
Crystal blew on the soup on her spoon to cool it down. She was nervous, since she had absolutely no idea what to expect. Gigi watched in anticipation as Crystal had her first bite.
“Oh my God, babe, it’s so good.”
Gigi’s face lit up. “Really?”
Crystal nodded. After finishing the bowl and setting it on the questionably assembled coffee table, she kissed Gigi. “I’m glad you can’t get sick.”
“Me, too.”
“I love you, my good little trophy wife.”
Gigi rolled her eyes. “I am not.”
“Wife” was a word that Gigi never thought of when she looked at Crystal. Anytime it would come up on accident, the subject would be changed.
“You’re pretty good at taking care of the living, too,” Crystal mused. “Who would have thought?”
“Not me.”
In that moment, Gigi swore her life was perfect. If only it would last forever.

Instead of positing that the Batkids are singular in their expressing affection for each other and thus Dick likes Damian best and Damian only likes Dick and Jason and Tim get along but not with anyone else and Cass is conjoined at the hip with Steph and Duke is like “exists” except for when he doesn’t....
WHAT IF.
INSTEAD.
I submit to the committee for their consideration, the following:
Imagine if the Batkids, ALL OF WHOM can be prickly and hot-tempered and passionate and mercurial and above all else, are ALWAYS whimsical as fucking hell (look, fandom may make fun of Dick’s costumes the most, but Jason once wore a helmet shaped like a condom, Tim’s tried to pull off WINGS, Damian thinks a hood magically adds three extra feet to his height and makes him as Intimidating as he desperately desires to be, there is just NO excuse for the gimp mask Cass wore as Black Bat, and Stephanie, I love you sweetheart, but stop trying to make eggplant happen, your Spoiler costume is purple. Deal with it. And as for Duke, yellow’s a good color for him and it makes him pop amidst his siblings’ Fifty Shades of Lurking In The Shadows, but of all the ways for him to emulate Bruce with his costume, did it really have to be the freaking BAT EARS on his helmet? Duke. Sweetie. Baby. I’m begging you. You’re better than that).
Oops, I got lost in my own post again.
Oh right! My point was, look, all the Batkids by virtue of what they do which is only by virtue of who they are, are whimsical as hell. And ADHD, if you ask me. And dramatic, if you ask anyone who is not currently being threatened to say otherwise by Damian or Jason at swordpoint or gunpoint.
Rather than insisting on each of them only ever having one sibling and one sibling only that they get along with at any given moment - what if instead we were to imagine them with an ever shifting, never predictable, occasionally inexplicable tangle of alliances and feuds among themselves. Changing direction at the speed of light so that one day Dick and Jason are as close as brothers can be and the next day its back to Blood Feud and they won’t say why to anyone else but then their reason probably would sound stupid as hell to anyone else even if admitted, so who cares, really.
So instead Jason throws in his lot with Damian, because Damian normally is closest with Dick but hell hath no fury like a baby brother scorned, and everyone knows Damian is also on the outs with Dick right now, because the Littlest Bat doesn’t do subtle and makes sure everyone else knows that GRAYSON KNOWS WHAT HE DID even if they don’t have a clue.
Meanwhile Tim is on the hunt for an ally, and looking to poach Steph from Cass for temporary use as a ringer in his own mini-war against Duke, who totally threw him under the bus to save his own ass with Bruce, although admittedly, this is a time-honored Batfamily tradition. “Solidarity against the Batdad...unless there’s a chance for one of us to get off scot-free,” is how the maxim goes.
(Its been suggested there might be a flaw somewhere in that thinking, but each time it gets brought up in the rare Batkids United meeting that manages to make it at least thirty whole minutes under a flag of truce, the whole thing seems to dissolve into an every Batkid for themselves fracas that leaves them all scrambling out windows before Jason sets off a literal grenade, because “overkill” is the one concept that persists in eluding Jay’s grasp.)
Meanwhile, Cass lurks in a darkened room somewhere, sinisterly stroking Alfred the cat, which is a habit she picked up because she thinks its hilarious that nobody can decide whether to blame that on Stephanie’s repeated viewings of Austin Powers or Damian’s general Damian-ness.
Who is Cass currently gunning for and why? Nobody knows. She likes it best when they never see her coming until its too late. Mostly because that means there’s not enough time for them to express genuine remorse for whatever they did, which she’ll inevitably read their sincerity on and thus call off the hounds because its never as fun at that point.
And she does like her fun.
I’m just saying, there’s SO MUCH MORE POTENTIAL in the Batkids’ various dynamics than the traditional takes that are largely limited to being Damian + Dick, Jason + Tim, etc.
Like, just imagine the possibilities in various Batkids plotting amongst themselves in small groups of three or four against one sibling for some common reason......and then midway through Plotting, Tim realizes wait, shit, he’s actually in the wrong Plot and totally forgot he’s Currently Ticked at Dick and Steph for something and he decides to throw his lot in with the opposition instead....except he better make it quick as the second the others all realize he’s flipped, they’re off and after him because he must be neutralized before he can make it to the other siblings with his crucial Insider Information.
Somewhere, Bruce sighs. “It makes me very uncomfortable when you all so readily use terms like ‘neutralize’ about your siblings in these fights of yours.”
“Well its not like you were any happier the last time we tried to clarify what we were actually going to do when we said that,” Jason throws up his arms in exasperation. “Honestly, there’s just no pleasing you.”

NCT 127 helping you study
(a/n: i did my best but i apologize in advance if there are inaccuracies in certain fields of study, i also acknowledge that the lengths of these are hella inconsistent. oops.)
Taeil
He thought it would be a good idea to have music playing in the background while you tried to study. Tried. You kept getting distracted by a particularly good lyric or interesting instrumental arrangement until you were eventually about to crawl out of your skin. He was sitting across from you at the dinner table, your papers scattered everywhere, scrolling through his phone.
“Taeil, turn that off please.” You said it softly.
“No.”
You look up at him now.
“What do you mean ‘no’? Yes. Turn that off,” you laugh it off, but you’re the slightest bit annoyed. This is one of the biggest exams you’ll have this semester, and if you don’t straight up ace it, you’ll be struggling for the next few weeks. He shakes his head.
“Taeil-”
“I read somewhere that if you can associate sounds or music to words, it helps to memorize them. I’m trying to help.”
“Oh.” You pause. “Well, maybe try it again later, for now I don’t even have my definitions down.”
He finally looks at you.
“Fine.” The music stops and you fall back into a peaceful silence.
Tumblr media
Johnny
“Alright, who painted ‘Composition with Red, Blue and Yellow’?”
“Mondrian. Come on, at least give me something difficult, I’m trying to pass this final,” you whine, head hanging over the side of your bed. Johnny sits at your desk across the room.
“Okay, how about some added incentive?” Your study sheet falls from his face and you realize you haven’t actually looked at him in about a half hour.
“Yes?” You lean up onto your elbows.
“Every answer you get right now is a kiss you’ll get later.” He cocks his head. You don’t even have to think about it.
“Deal! Come on, next question.” You plop back down. A few minutes later, after a lightning round of names and dates, colours and details, you sit up to find him writing on your notes.
“What are you doing? Those are important.” You frown.
“I’m keeping a tally so I don’t forget one later. We are at...” He smirks without looking up and counts his marks on the page. “Seven, so far.”
“Ah,” you blush, “carry on, then.” You think to yourself there’s no way in hell you’ll ever be able to focus on that particular page of notes again.
Tumblr media
Taeyong
You were supposed to memorize the entire periodic table and you were absolutely overwhelmed at the prospect. This was one of those moments you wished you had some superhuman photographic memory that would require minimal effort on your end. Taeyong had you study piece by piece over a long period of time. At first, you hadn’t even noticed he was doing it - he was being sneaky.
“Hey, what’s the first row of the periodic table?”
“That’s a weird question.”
He shrugged.
“I don’t know, I just had a weird flashback to science class in high school, it was up on a wall next to my desk. I think it starts with helium, right?”
“Hydrogen and helium, technically, yeah, but that’s not really how they’re grouped.” You explained.
“Oh? So how are they grouped?”
“Well, you’ve got your metals, halogens, stuff like that.”
“Huh. And what are they?”
That’s when you started to catch on. You cocked your head at him.
“Which ones? There are a few different types of metals.”
“Well, whichever.” He shrugged, still playing his part perfectly.
Tumblr media
Yuta
It wasn’t an exam, per se, but you had to put together a final portfolio for an art class, one you hated. It was supposed to be basic drawing techniques, but the professor was all over the place; not all that surprising for an art professor, but still annoying to follow. You were sitting on your living room floor, papers strewn everywhere, barely knowing where to begin. You had a drawing of a flower that was nice and simple, you had gotten the shading right, you liked it enough. One was of a hallway; same deal, the technique was alright, you set it aside, but you had to pick a total of ten drawings. You had dozens, some of the same thing over and over again because you, or the professor, were never satisfied. When Yuta walked into the apartment and found you in that state, he started by sitting quietly beside you on the floor.
“What are we doing?” He murmured after a minute.
“Freaking out.”
“I see. Anything I can help with?”
You didn’t answer, but held up a decent-enough drawing of a hand.
“Do you think the details on this are okay?” You asked. He looked at you and then the drawing. He liked pretty much anything you did, but he knew you needed brutal honesty if you were ever going to be finished with this. He took a long, deep breath.
“So, the index finger on this one looks a little wonky, I think this one,” he reached for another drawing of a hand, “has better lines, better dimensions. All the fingers are good.”
“Oh, I hate the thumb on that one, though…”
He shrugged.
“This one?” He picked a drawing of a desk under a window. “The light looks really cool.”
Tumblr media
Doyoung
For your final assignment, you were to make a long, detailed marketing proposal to your class. If it was picked up, you passed, if not, you had an opportunity for a do-over, and a private presentation to the professor alone. You didn’t want the second option, you had other things to do after passing this class that did not include a one-on-one meeting with your middle-aged professor some time after the end of classes. You had been reciting the whole thing to yourself for days, you had prepared a PowerPoint presentation and a ton of visuals to aid you, but you needed a second opinion. You had gone out with Doyoung a handful of times, you both figured it was a matter of time before things between you were made official, so you had him over, sat him down, and launched into your presentation. At the end, you took a breath, then asked:
“How was that?”
He gaped at you.
“Well, hot, we’ll start there.”
“No, Doyoung, I meant would you go for this idea if you were the CEO of something?”
“Honestly, yeah. You made some good points, you had valid, real reasons for what you wanted to do and how you wanted to market this thing. I think it works.” He shrugged.
“You’re a business major, you better not be bullshitting me.”
“You’re a marketing major, you could probably tell if I was.”
Tumblr media
Jaehyun
You had given Jaehyun a key to your apartment months ago. He let himself in regularly, and a lot of the time, he was there when you got home from school or work. This time, though, he walked in to you sitting on your living room floor, laptop on the coffee table, facing the couch. There was paper all over the floor, some crumpled, some ripped, some simply abandoned. He had to tiptoe and side-step all the way to you. Your hair was a mess, which he would’ve found endearing if your eyes hadn’t been bloodshot.
“What are you doing?”
You nearly jumped out of skin, startled.
“Fuck, when did you get here?” You asked, eyes wide.
“Just now. You know you have a desk.” He nodded to the wooden furniture in the far corner of the room. You sighed.
“I couldn’t sit there anymore, I was going out of my mind.”
“Well, what are you doing?” He asked again, picking up notes on the couch to sit, facing you.
“My final portfolio for my fiction class is due tomorrow and I haven’t worked on anything in weeks.”
“You’re always writing.”
“Yeah, I’m always writing, but I had two of these stories workshopped months ago and I hadn’t looked at them since. God, they needed so much work, Jaehyun, I can’t believe I actually submitted that. Plus, I was missing a good ten pages for the portfolio, which I’ve written now, thank god, but I have so many drafted versions, I don’t know which one I want. I wrote seven different endings. I’m not even sure about my characters’ names. Or if I want them to be named, nothing’s coming out like I want it, I don’t know what I’m going to do-”
“Okay, slow down, slow down,” he moved to sit on the floor now, facing you at eye level. “How long have you been writing?”
You looked down at the time on your laptop. You frowned, confused.
“That can’t be right.”
“When’s the last time you ate?”
“There’s no way-”
“Alright, go take a nap, I’ll order some food.”
Tumblr media
Winwin
“I need you to play judge.” You told Sicheng.
“Judge?”
“Yeah, sit,” you placed him at the center of the couch, and looked around before handing him a spoon. “Tap that on the table if you need to interrupt me.”
He stared at the spoon.
“Isn’t that for weddings?”
“So, I’m basically defending a client accused of theft and-”
“Don’t I get, like, case notes or something?”
“So demanding.” You rolled your eyes but went for your notes. He looked them over for a few minutes before leaning back comfortably.
“Proceed.” He declared, voice loud and clear. You smiled before launching into everything you prepared for your final. He did a fine job of rebutting if possible and interrupting when necessary, though you had to stop him from objecting! about anything he disagreed with.
Tumblr media
Jungwoo
As an education major in your first year, your big final assignment was to prepare an elementary-level language class to teach your fellow university-level education major peers. To prepare, you had Jungwoo come over and told him he’d be playing the role of a seven year old, which pleased him.
“I’m a baby, you know that. This is perfect,” he grinned, sitting cross-legged on the floor in front of you.
“Yes, now shut up, we’re learning vowels.” You said in your regular voice before switching to the over-enunciated, slightly higher-pitched voice of a first or second-grade teacher.
Tumblr media
Mark
“How’s the essay going?” Mark asked, coming into your dorm room. He plopped down on your bed behind you.
“Well, so… get this,” you swiveled around in your chair to face him, leaving behind you a handful of novels, two different notebooks, and your phone open to pictures of your friends’ notes. “I’m supposed to write a compare-and-contrast essay about James Joyce and Samuel Beckett, of all people.”
“Is that so bad?”
“Mark, have you ever read Beckett? It’s like an acid trip in slow motion. You finish it, you have straight up no clue what you just read, but now you have to write about it.”
He frowns.
“And that other guy?”
“Joyce? He’s okay, I’m just glad writing about Ulysses isn’t a requirement. There are just certain things I’m not willing to put myself through.”
“Well, mind if I keep you company?” He leans back on your bed.
“Go ahead, just try not to distract me too much, I want to get this done today.”
“You won’t even know I’m here.” He puts his headphones in and lies back against your pillow.
Tumblr media
Haechan
This boy had arranged a whole game night just for you. He had friends over, set up a whole tournament bracket in which he was, of course, your partner, and he made sure even if you didn’t end up winning, you would end up learning, memorizing, and having fun getting ready for your most dreaded final. Food was ordered, drinks were made, and finally everyone involved in this evening was sat around the dinner table, in a heated trivia competition.
Some days later when your exam came around and you saw the first questions, your mind flashed back to Haechan shouting the answer at the top of his lungs and standing up so fast his chair fell backwards. It had been a ridiculous, slightly stupid idea, but damn if it hadn’t worked like a charm.

Good Omens prompt, if you want and it actually sparks inspires a story: Crowley 'rises'–he becomes an angel again, but it's not something he asked for and, even though he has complicated feelings about it, it's not actually something he wants. (Alternatively: Crowley's eyes have become human looking for some reason. Again, not what he asked for and, even though he hates his eyes sometimes, the change is not actually something he wants.)
(plz ignore the fact that i’ve had this prompt for... i dunno, three months?  i’m blaming school, but with finals finally winding down, i can get back to writing as much as i want to, and really, i’ve thought about this prompt a lot since it was submitted!)
decided to go with original prompt of crowley rising, because i do have some thoughts on that.  this ended up longer than i intended, probably because it’s the first thing i’ve written (aside from essays for school) for like... two months?  so i guess my brain was just like “ALL THE WRITING LET’S DO IT”.
anyway.  here’s some dumb stuff about crowley “rising”.
--
Aziraphale was humming slightly to himself as he ascended the stairs to Crowley’s apartment, bottle of wine tucked under one arm, and a pair of tickets to the London Philharmonic in his pocket.  He had phoned Crowley earlier in the day to ask if he would like to spend the evening together, and unsurprisingly Crowley had agreed, suggesting that the angel arrive at his place around six and they’d have a drink or two before heading out.  Aziraphale was rather looking forward to it.
He was five feet away from the demon’s front door, however, when he froze.  Something was pinging his internal alarms, and it took a few seconds for him to recognize what it was.
Angel.
There was an angel in Crowley’s apartment.
The bottle fell from his arm and before it even touched the ground, Aziraphale was bursting through the door, aglow with fury and hand raised as if about to attack whoever had the outright gall to dare to even think about stepping inside---
But there wasn’t an angel anywhere to be seen.  There was just Crowley.
Crowley, on the floor of his living room, curled up in the fetal position, groaning.  “A-angel,” he managed, rolling onto his back with a shaky sort of laugh, “fucking finally, thought you’d be here sooner.”
Aziraphale lowered his hand slowly, and looked around hesitantly, as if expecting someone to leap out from behind the furniture.  There was an angel in here somewhere, but---
His eyes fell to Crowley, who was clutching his sides as if in pain.  “Well?” the redhead prompted, a bit terse.  “I could use some help.”
That did get through to him; Aziraphale hurried over, and fell to his knees next to the demon.
Oh.  Oh.  It had taken longer than it should have, but it finally settled on Aziraphale what had happened.
“Are you injured?” he asked, very softly, his hand shaking as he reached out to touch Crowley.
“No, you know I’m not,” Crowley bit out through grit teeth.  “Can you just help me onto the couch?  Floor’s shit for rolling around in pain.”
So he did, carefully lifting Crowley into his arms and settling them both on the couch, where Crowley immediately curled around him, burying his face in Aziraphale’s stomach with arms around his waist.  Aziraphale let a moment or two pass, but he couldn’t let this sit.  “My dear, what happened?” he asked as gently as he could, stroking Crowley’s hair.
“M’sure you can tell,” came the muffled answer.
“Yes,” Aziraphale agreed weakly, looking down at the other.  “You’re... well, you’ve... I suppose the opposite of Fallen would be Risen.”
Crowley grunted in acknowledgement, but said nothing.
“That doesn’t explain...”  Aziraphale frowned a bit.  “I didn’t think that could happen.”
“Apparently it does.”
“And... what, er, what precipitated this event?”
“Fuck if I know,” Crowley snapped bitterly, the effective somewhat dampened by his muffled tone.  “Was just getting ready, went to get my jacket from the bedroom, and then---” he mimed something with one hand, something like an explosion, “---found myself in agony on the floor.  Been like that for, I dunno, ten minutes before you showed up.  Worst of the pain’s gone.  Heh, who knew it would hurt just the same as Falling.”
Aziraphale was silent this time, combing through Crowley’s hair slowly as he tried to reconcile the situation.  This wasn’t supposed to happen.  This, “Rising” or whatever, it simply didn’t happen.  There wasn’t a single recorded case of it.  Until now, he supposed.  He also couldn’t quite determine how he felt about this.  He loved Crowley, and that love wasn’t strictly affected about what sort of aura the other had.  Crowley had always been very clear on the matter of Aziraphale Falling - which is to say, absolutely not if I can help it - but the reverse had never been a relevant concern.
Until now.
“You thought I was being attacked, huh?”
Aziraphale blinked, and looked down to see Crowley looking back up at him.  The demon--- the former demon was stretching out a bit as if the pain was finally leaving him properly, and was laying his head more comfortably in Aziraphale’s lap.  “Sorry?”
“You came bursting in here,” Crowley explained, motioning vaguely with his hands towards the front door, which was, in fact, still standing open, “looking like you were about to smite something.  You thought I was being attacked, didn’t you?  Sensed an angel in here, and you panicked?”
“It wasn’t an unjustified reaction,” Aziraphale pointed out.
“No, no I suppose it wasn’t,” Crowley agreed.  He sighed, reaching up and touching Aziraphale’s face.  “This has never happened before, has it?” he asked in a way that suggested he already knew the answer.
So Aziraphale didn’t bother answering.  “How do you feel, my dear?” he asked instead.
“Pain’s mostly gone now.  Seriously, didn’t think it would hurt like that.”
“I meant---”
“I know what you meant.”  Crowley frowned.  His hand trailed over Aziraphale’s cheek, thumb brushed over his lips, and finally wandered up to his eyes.  “Did you know you have a little gold halo around your pupils?”
“Crowley,” Aziraphale said patiently, “don’t change the subject.”
“Because I didn’t,” he pressed on firmly.  “I’d never seen it before.  But I can see it now.”
Aziraphale closed his mouth, stifling the further admonishments.
“You smell like sunlight, too.  Did you know that?  I didn’t know sunlight had a scent, but it does, because that’s what you smell like.  I can still smell... you, y'know, same as always.  But there’s more to it now.  And there was always this... this wave of something coming off of you that I could never place, but I know what it is now.  Do you know what it is?”
“Love,” Aziraphale mumbled.  He was a little surprised at what Crowley seemed to be choosing to focus on in this moment.
“Love, angel.  I can feel your love now.  But you know what I can’t feel anymore?”  Crowley dropped his hand.  “Your desires.  I can’t tell if you want to kiss me, or if you want a drink, or if you want me to stop talking.  So you want to know how I’m feeling?  Awful.”  He shifted a bit, and heaved himself up so he could sit next to Aziraphale.  “I feel awful.  I don’t need to be able to see your halo to know you’re beautiful, and I never needed to sense your love to know it was there.  But I’ve spent six thousand years being able to sense what you want, and figuring out how to make you happy like that.  And now?”  He flung his hand out in a dismissive gesture.  “Gone.  Now I’ve got to guess.”
Aziraphale looked at him carefully, a little confused, a little concerned, but mostly curious.  “Crowley, my dear, you are the first demon possibly ever to Rise, and all you can talk about is me?”
Crowley looked back at him, stubborn and a bit defensive.  “I didn’t ask to Rise,” he said tersely.  “I didn’t want to Rise.  What I wanted was to spend a very nice evening with you, drinking with you, seeing the stupid orchestra with you, getting dinner with you, coming back here and making a mess of at least one piece of furniture with you, and then falling asleep in bed with you.  You know, for someone so intelligent, you can be awfully dense.”
“Excuse me?”  Aziraphale attempted to look affronted at this last remark, but it was rather mollified by Crowley’s apparent plans for the evening.
“You heard me.”  Crowley sat back into the couch cushions, crossing his arms across his chest and glaring across the living room.  “I don’t want this.  I never wanted this.  I didn’t want to Fall, but I did, and so I made the most of it.  And now She takes it back?  ‘Oops, sorry, nevermind the excruciating pain you went through during the Rebellion, I see you’ve managed to make a good go of it, but really, here, time to bring you back to Heaven.’  Bullocks to that, I don’t want it.”
“You’d rather be a demon?” Aziraphale asked, unsure if he was shocked or not.
“I’d rather be exactly the way I was, doesn’t matter that it was as a demon,” Crowley explained.  “I was happy like that.  With you.”
“Oh.”  Aziraphale carefully put a hand on the other’s leg, and offered a hesitant smile.  “I know there’s a lot to figure out with this, my dear, but... but I’d like to think... we could still be happy.  Could we?”
Crowley’s tense demeanor fell a bit, and he looked over at the angel.  The other angel.  “Long as we’re together,” he said, his lips twitching, “of course we’ll be happy.”

The Miys, Ch. 46
I’m on a roll!  Yet another chapter beta’d by @parisconstantine (in which I learned about French terms of affection), and I’m already 1600 words into chapter 47.  I’m not sure if the next chapter will be a long one or if I’ll end up splitting it into two parts. Time will tell on that front.
Oh! Oh!  Sam and Simon both get last names in this chapter!
This covers the first six hours of the Food Festival, so minor mentions of food.  I can’t think of any other warnings beyond that, but if you find something please shoot me a message so I can update it.  I’m learning every day about things that trigger people, so sometimes I miss things that aren’t glaringly obvious.  However, I’m always willing to learn.  At the end of the day, this is very slice-of-life, after all.
Edit:  I am reposting this, for 2 reasons.  Most importantly, I included some characters in this chapter who I need to attribute to their rightful creators.  So, Thank you @charlylimph-blog for Ivan Thorson and Coffee Williams.  You are an incredible writer, and I didn’t want these two to languish in obscurity after all the hard work you put into submitting them for the last contest.
The second reason is just because I posted it too early and wanted to put it out there for the people who look for my chapters on Tuesdays.  I love you all!
“Okay, everyone for Alpha Shift, sound off.”
“Tyche Reid, Admin Observation, is online.” I could hear the smirk in my sister’s voice.
“Antoine Costa, Support Personnel, online.”
“Sophia, do I really have to do this?” a familiar voice wheedled.
“Yes. I need to know who is my eyes and ears on the ground.”
“Ugh. Zach Khan, Support Personnel, online.”
“Derek Okafor, Civilian Observation, online.”
“Sam Richardson, Civilian Ob-observation, o-o-online.” I couldn’t help grinning that Sam agreed to help out.  Usually, he kept out of any operations on the ship, but he was the original tester for Antoine’s project, so he had just assumed he would be part of today’s actions.
“Maverick Okima, Support Personnel, online.”
“Alistair Worthington, Resource Adjunct, online,” my assistant dutifully called off in a bored tone. Only I could see the sardonic look he shot me.
“Sophia Reid, Resource Command, online,” I breathed in relief.  “Thank you, everyone. You have two objectives today: first, a general assessment of the low-stim session so that we know what we did right and what we can improve on in the future; second, getting feedback on how Mr. Costa’s dampening and proximity updates to the translation chips are working, again with a goal for future enhancements.  Tyche Reid has graciously volunteered to be our control on the chip project, so she will be providing only a baseline evaluation of the low-stim session and the quiet rooms.”  In reality, my sister wasn’t volunteering so much as refusing to get the upgrade until I agreed to do the same.
“Soph, if you are going to keep being so formal, we may as well shut this down now,” my sister huffed. “Mr. Costa my foot.”
“I’m trying to be professional,” I grumbled back. “This is an official Council operation, to be saved for posterity.”
“Do you truly believe that Xiomara will tolerate being referred to as ‘Miss’ or ‘Councillor Kalloe’ for six hours, Sophia?” Antoine asked smoothly.
Fighting back a chuckle, I refused to concede his point. “That’s Simon’s problem, not mine. She and I are on shift in the festival at the same time, so Simon will be running the show from here.”
“And you have deluded yourself to believe that Mr. Rodriguez will continue to address everyone formally?” Alistair scoffed. Et tu, Brute? I had argued with him for weeks to call me Sophia.
“If you start calling me Mr. Okafor, I’m going silent until this is over, Sophia,” Derek threatened.
I threw my hands up defensively, even if most people couldn’t see me. “Fine! I get it, I get it. I’ll chill out with the names, but I am going on record that it was under duress and threat of operative failure.” I shook my head and took a deep breath. “Okay, so, back to the point.  Tyche, your job is providing an assessment of the low-stim Festival session, as it appears to someone without the implant upgrades.  Derek and Sam, your jobs are to evaluate the session with the upgrades.  I need all three of you to report back two specific things: what worked better than your past experiences, and what still sucked.  Maverick, Zach, and Antoine: you are there both in your capacities as support personnel in case something goes horribly wrong, and to make sure I hear about anything they don’t realize shouldn’t be happening.  Everyone clear on your jobs?”
I got six affirmative answers before continuing. “Okay, other than that – have fun!  Try new foods, let me know what to try when it’s my turn, just enjoy yourselves as much as possible!”  With that, I left the group channel open and watched the map of the festival.  The three teams were entering from different points to ensure that, between the six of them, everything could be evaluated. In theory, everything should go off without a hitch.  The vendors were already briefed to be prepared for attendees during this session to provide a list of flavor and texture aversions, and Miys was already stationed in security alcoves to ensure that the vendors were complying and attendees weren’t abusing it.
It was only fifteen minutes before we got our first update.
“Team Try New Foods, reporting early success,” Zach Khan’s voice broke in. “Kosher food stall was an overall hit, the Jainist stall admitted they had nothing that Derek could like except papadums, and Derek tried both falafel and chicken tikka masala.  Jury’s out on the masala, but he likes falafel.”
“I really thought falafel would be too squishy,” I admitted.
“Apparently not,” Zach chuckled. “He said it’s like a meatball, but no meat.”
“I mean, yeah,” I agreed, still dazed. “That’s cool, though.  And the Jainist vendor didn’t give him a hard time about the list?”
“Nope,” he popped the last letter, something he tended to do when he was really excited. “Just smiled, read it, and apologized that everything he had was either spicy, sour, or squishy.”
“How did the Kosher and Halal vendors react to the list?”
“Thoughtfully,” Derek interjected. “The Kosher vendor clarified if I like onions, and the Halal vendor just wanted to know if I meant pepper-spicy or herb-spicy.”
Awesome. “Good job, guys. And congrats, Derek, on the new foods.  Keep it up and let me know.”
Thirty minutes later, not everything was sunshine and rainbows, though. Sam and Maverick had so far reported three vendors whose stalls were too pungent to approach, and Alistair was already in contact with and arguing about the need to keep the dishes covered during the low-stim session. “I understand that the smell is what draws people in, usually, ma’am, but you agreed to keep all smells to a minimum for the first six hours. That includes keeping the atmospheric scrubbers engaged and keeping the dishes sealed.” When the woman on the other end started to argue, he swiftly cut her off. “When you signed up to be open during this session, you were given a list of the restrictions, and you signed off on it. Low Stimulus, and that includes stimulating the nose. You can either seal the food, as you agreed, or we can have your stall closed down for the remainder of the Festival, per the agreement you signed.” With that, he disconnected sighed before turning to me. “So rude,” he informed me with a shake of his head.
“Which stall was that?” I asked, wrinkling my nose in dread.
“Fortunately, just the seafood stall,” he explained. “Along with the Cajun and Jamaican stalls.  So, pungent, but no one has reported nausea as of yet.  Miys is already in the area, trying to dissipate the odor.”
“As long as it isn’t the Japanese stall,” I gulped. They had insisted on serving natto, but explained that it would be sealed in individual portions throughout the festival, and only opened by the person eating it.  While I couldn’t exactly argue, I didn’t have to be happy about it.
I heard from Tyche right at one hour into the event.
“Soph,” my sister practically shouted at me. “Do you want to explain to me why one of the Quiet Rooms looks like you robbed my quarters?”
Oops.  Forgot about that. “Tyche, they’re designed to be relaxing, quiet, and provide low stimulation.  I can’t help it that your quarters are practically a smooshy cave.” Three, two, one…
“A hammock!?” she demanded. “Why don’t I have a hammock?”
“Make up your mind, Tych. Are you offended that the room looks like your quarters, or jealous that it’s better equipped?”
“Both. Definitely both,” she asserted. “Ooo, you included the sound scrubbers we had installed in your quarters, didn’t you?”
“I knew it!” I almost shrieked. “I knew it sounded muffled in my quarters since I got back!  That was completely uncalled for, you brat.  You know I’m hard of hearing!”
“You also have an implant in your brain that directly translates language into your auditory cortex, so it’s not like you couldn’t hear us,” she pointed out. “And all your alerts and alarms were already calibrated for you to see them as well as hear them. What I don’t understand is why you never had Miys fix your hearing.”
“Are you kidding?” I scoffed. “Loud noises are bad enough as it is.  I can’t imagine how it would be if I could hear them better.”
“Aaannnnnnd that’s why we put the scrubbers in your quarters,” she finished. Well, walked right into that one, I admitted to myself. “This room is nice, by the way, once I got over the shock. Quiet, relaxing on the eyes and ears. How buff are the atmo scrubbers? It’s like my nose just quit working, but I can still breathe.”
“Really buff,” I clarified. “I’m not sure how many food and personal odors are going to be at the main event, so I erred on the side of overkill.”
“Do all the quiet rooms look like this?” Antoine asked, his tone full of curiosity.
“They do not,” I grinned. “Antoine, you’re going to love this, I think.  There are five different themed quiet rooms, and two of each for a total of ten. You two are in one of the Dark Rooms.  The Green themed rooms are furnished with plants and small fountains.  Medium theme looks more like my quarters, with lighter grays and some purples thrown in. Cool theme is mostly blues, with diffuse light to give an underwater or polar night kind of feeling.  Finally, the Light themed room is whites and pale yellows, with indirect light to create a feeling like a sunny day.”
A hum of approval. “I think that makes the most sense,” he agreed. “Not everyone finds the same things soothing, but I think you created enough variety to cover everyone.”
“So, how is the event going for you guys?”
Tyche sighed. “It’s going okay, but I’m not entirely certain that’s not because of who I am.  I haven’t seen any flashing lights, no loud music is playing, so that’s good.  The vendors have been very deferential, which I didn’t think to expect, honestly.”
“I don’t think that’s because of you,” I hummed. “Derek is having a similar experience, honestly.  Sam has reported some vendors with fragrant stalls, but that’s been addressed.  Alistair, anything else?”
Without glancing up from his data screen, he shook his head. “Other than the incident with the smells, nothing negative reporting yet. Derek and Zachary have dutifully sent in additional reports regarding the reactions of each vendor to the food preference lists, so far the balance is in the positive. Samuel and Maverick are reporting similar responses.”
“And the upgrades?” Antoine asked hesitantly.
“So far, nothing major…” Alistair trailed off.  “Support personnel are reporting receiving proximity alerts from non-clients, and I’ve received several queries regarding if that is normal?”
“It’s expected,” Antoine sighed. “We are working on an algorithm that would reduce the alert volume for support personnel who are on duty and in the presence of their respective clients, but it wasn’t ready in time for this event.  But, yes, it is normal and to be expected.”
“Understood. Request approval to release a mass communication to all registered support personnel?”
“Approved,” Antoine and I answered immediately.  I continued. “Alistair, do we have any reports regarding the effectiveness of the dampeners?”
“Yes and no,” he stated. “General reports indicate conditions that are difficult to separate from the intended atmosphere of the event.”
“Tyche, are you still on Level Fourteen?”
“Yeah, why?”
“If we send you the reports from any participants in that area, do you have time to corroborate?”
“I mean, I do, but I thought I was supposed to be participating?”
“Sorry,” I winced in contrition. “You’re right. I just… got ahead of myself. Yeah, it can wait until after your shift at the event.  Just make sure you’re recording your observations so you can do an accurate comparison later, okay?”
“We’re both recording full video, Soph,” she assured me, a rustling noise in the background. “I’m about to head back out into it, but I promise to keep my eyes peeled.  I’ll keep shooting reports to you as I make my way through the vendors, okay?”
“Sounds good,” I exhaled, leaning back in my seat as she disconnected.  Watching the map for a few more minutes, I saw all three teams circulating through the event.  Sometimes a team would stop at a Quiet Room for several minutes before continuing.  Small reports were trickling in, some from the three teams, some from vendors, and others from support people who were simply attending the event in a professional capacity.  However, no further urgent matters were reported aside from Derek and Sam finding a handful of new foods each.
Finally, we were approaching the end of the low-stim session.
“Alpha Shift teams, relief teams for Beta Shift are on their way,” I notified them once we were fifteen minutes out from the end. “Beta Shift teams, please report when you are online.”
“Amelie Marechal, Crowd Control, reporting online and heading to rendezvous with Derek and Zach,” a cheerful voice chirped not two minutes later. I managed to smother a chuckle as Alistair scowled at me, remembering our conversation the day before.
“Coffee Williams, Crowd Control, reporting online and arriving to relieve Costa and Reid” came the next, this time a smooth baritone.  I hadn’t spent much time around the man, but Antoine assured me that he was perfect for diffusing difficult situations.
“Ivan Thorson, Crowd Control, online,” followed quickly after.  “Heading to meet with Amelie and relieve Tyche and Antoine.”
The next two Beta Shift members left me speechless. “Conor MacMaoilir, Crowd Control, online and relieving Maverick and Sam.”
“Grey Hodenson, Crowd Control Command, online. I’m with Conor and we are relieving Okima and Richardson.”
Alistair managed to sneak in a couple surprises of his own, apparently.  When I glared at him, he merely smirked at me before tipping a non-existent hat towards me.  I barely caught Mr. William’s teammate checking in before I managed to recover. “Sophia Reid, Alpha Shift Resource Command, reporting for hand off to Crowd Control Command. Grey, confirm handoff?”
“Handoff complete, Sophia,” came the familiar, neutral voice. Finally, they cracked and I could hear a smile in their next words. “Please take care to get some rest between now and Delta shift.  We expect that shift to be crowded, and you will be Resource Observation. Also, I would like to request that you do not allow Xiomara to kill Simon?”
“Hey, that’s a tall order!” I objected, only half-joking. “I’ll try, no promises. And I promise to get some rest.  First, I need Alpha shift teams to come debrief in my office, then I’ll take a rest interval for Gamma.  Deal?”
“Mr. MacMaoilir and I agree that is sufficient.”
“Maverick, make sure she gets some sleep, or I’ll let Tyche give you what for,” Conor interjected. I didn’t even try to suppress the groan that followed.
Introducing the two of them had turned out to be a terrible idea on my part.

Your name: submit What is this?
"Alright Tin-Man, what is it?"
They're in the hallway now, mainly so they can escape the renewed noise of the common room. As soon as Bucky had spoken, a hush fell over the room. It was weird for him to speak to Stark, and Bucky was known for being aggressively independent, never asking for anything even if he needed it. He was glad they had moved to the hallway, he was a little embarrassed, but he still wanted to ask.
He turned to look behind him, the door to the common room was ajar, and he could see Steve and Natasha lurking on the other side, he huffed and turned back to Stark.
"I need a jet" he spoke with no preamble, better to get it over with.
Tony raised an eyebrow, surveying him slowly as if searching for bad intentions. There was a glint in his eyes that looked teasing, but that might have been his imagination. Or maybe that was just a Tony Stark thing, a permanent teasing look.
"What for?" That was almost definitely fake innocence Bucky heard in his voice. Bucky grit his teeth, he hated when Stark acted like he knew something that he didn't, but he really needed this.
"I want to..." he sighed, ran a hand through his hair,
started over "Y/N has to leave for her hometown in a hurry. I'd like to take her, it's kind of an emergency." Bucky doesn't remember ever speaking this many words in a row to Tony Stark.
Tony's smirk widens and Bucky suppresses a growl.
"You have to forgive me if I don't trust you with a jet, old man. But-"
"I'll pilot the jet" The two men turn to look at Natasha, who is standing behind the open door and next to an open-mouthed Steve. She shrugs before speaking again, her voice nonchalant. "I was looking for an excuse to go outside anyway. Besides, everyone keeps telling me about the girl James is crushing on, I'd like to meet her."
"I'm not crushing on her" Bucky murmurs, but he's secretly doing somersaults on the inside. His chest is tight with excitement, and he can't help the small smile that blooms on his face.
"Well look at that" Tony exclaims. He looks at Natasha, then at Bucky. "Fine then, but bring it back in one piece" he aims this last part at Natasha, who only smirks and motions for Bucky to go with her.
Steve shakes his head with a smile and goes back into the common room.
-
"So" Natasha's tone is deceivingly nonchalant "Y/N"
Bucky hums noncommittally, helping her adjust the controls on the jet before takeoff. She flops onto the pilot's seat like it's a living room couch.
"Yeah, spill. I've been trying to set someone up for ages, but Rogers won't cooperate" she grins. "Tell me everything"
"There's nothing to tell Nat, she works in the tower" she perks up at that, ooh-ing at him, he ignores her "She's nice." He finishes, wanting her to stop looking at him like that.
"Oh, c’mon James, she has to be something more than nice if I'm flying this jet"
He gives in, knowing there wasn't a point in trying to keep something from her "She's kind, and hilarious, and frankly adorable. She sees me as Bucky, y'know? Not a monster, or a teammate, or a soldier, or even an avenger. I guess I kinda miss people looking at me like a person" he huffs, looking away when he sees Natasha glancing at him with those dewy eyes she looks at him with sometimes, when he's being particularly depressing.
She hums, then turns on the engine.
-
Nat makes fun of him when he realizes they took off without knowing where you lived. Luckily, they were already close by and arrive in a matter of minutes.
He looks for you as they land, and he finally sees you, bursting from the side of the building, your face frozen in a shocked expression. He knew you hadn't believed him.
"She is pretty" Natasha comments, a smile pulling at the corner of her lips as she opens the door for him.
You give a loud, incredulous laugh when you see him, your wide eyes glimmering with childish astonishment. Bucky's heart expands, pumping wildly in his chest at the sound of your laughter, it's the first time he's smiled this big in a long, long while.
He basks in your gleeful expression, and feels weirdly proud of putting that look on your face. When he takes your bag you seem to not notice, and remain standing outside, gawking at the sleek aircraft.
"What a cutie" Natasha smiles, and Bucky's glad to get the approval of one of his best friends, he beams at her and she gives a surprised laugh. "Oh boy, you really are a goner aren't you?"
He ignores her, and places your duffel inside a compartment near the floor.
"You coming?!" He shouts, cupping his hand next to his face so he's heard over the sound of the roaring engine.
"Oh! yeah! Hah! Oh my god" Natasha snorts behind him. You give an excited wiggle and there's a nearly painful tug to his chest. You step onto the aircraft, looking around with your mouth half open, Bucky can see you taking everything in, looking at the inside of the jet like you're in an art gallery. When you take off you squeak softly in excitement, then in fear when Natasha speaks from the pilot seat and startles you.
"Hi" she grins "nice to meet you, I'm Natasha. I'd shake your hand but we'd probably crash if I do that." Your eyes widen, looking at Natasha curiously and maybe a little nervously. "I've heard a lot of good things about you." She says pointedly. Bucky gives her a warning glare that he knows she caught, even if she doesn't turn his way.
"You have?" Your voice comes at an unusual high pitch "I mean, nice to meet you too. Thank you so much for doing this"
Bucky can't tell what's wrong. Maybe it's nothing, or maybe it's the stress of the day that's getting to you, but your voice is a little strained when you talk to Natasha. And your eyes look almost... sad?
He moves closer to you.
-
You arrive at your hometown almost two and a half hours later, and Bucky's a tad disappointed that it went by so quickly. He isn't about to say anything to you though.
The ride was quiet at first, but Nat had made an effort to spark a conversation (thank the heavens for her, he'd have to buy her one of those gooey brownies that she liked when they got back). It had worked, because soon all three of you were talking and laughing. He enjoyed the way your expression changed when you listened to them tell stories of their past missions, looking almost like you were watching a super interesting movie unfold right before your eyes. You'd relaxed around Nat too, and he breathed out in relief when he caught you giggling uncontrollably at the Budapest story.
"I'll have to meet Clint someday" you gasped, holding on to your stomach.
Natasha made a considering noise "Oh, he'd love you. Maybe I'll invite you guys for coffee someday"
You choked on your next breath, your mouth dropping open with a faint pop. You were about to speak but were cut off when Natasha spoke again.
"We're here"
You stood up in a flash, and Bucky handed you your bag while Natasha landed the aircraft at the hospital's parking lot.
Nat reached upwards and flipped a switch, which caused the door to open with a sharp hiss.
"You guys saved my life today" you said sincerely, shouldering the duffel. You grinned up at Bucky, stepping closer and then immediately stepping back. "Um, can I hug you?"
Bucky's breath punched out of his lungs. He couldn't believe you. You wanted to hug him, and that was a surprise on its own. But the fact that you asked? Search his face kindly to check if he was comfortable? It made his heart ache with a sudden burst of... something.
He couldn't speak, so he only nodded at you. You stepped forward again, confidently this time, and wrapped your hands around his waist in a tight embrace.
You were warm, and soft, and your shampoo smelled like coconut. Your bag hit him in the ribs, but he couldn't care less. It felt like comfort, something he hadn't had for many years, not for real at least. He shut his eyes tightly and tried as best as he could to absorb the feeling through his skin.
You pulled apart after a long moment, one that felt too short anyway, and smiled at him before shouting your goodbyes to Natasha and then sprinting off the jet.
"Wow" breathed Natasha.
"Yeah" Bucky said back.
-
They watched you be greeted halfway through the parking lot by a tall, dark skinned man who swept you into a tight hug before ushering you inside.
"She has a soulmate" Bucky blurts without thinking, keeping his eyes on the glass door even after you disappear from sight.
"What?!" Natasha snaps her gaze to him "that him?" She points towards the hospital entrance, then flips the switch that closes the door.
"I don't thinks so. I don't think she's met them actually, she wears a leather cuff because she doesn't like her words." He sits down on the floor and leans on a wall.
"Well that sucks"
He hums in agreement but doesn't say anything. He's thinking about that man he saw you hugging, he really had no idea who he was, or who you were, for that matter. He didn't actually know anything about you, and who knows, maybe he was your soulmate. It wouldn't make a lot of sense for you to not live in the same place, but it was still a possibility. Maybe it wasn't him, but you could have already met them and just hadn't told him anything. Jealousy churned uncomfortably in his gut and her frowned at himself.
"Why haven't you said anything then? Is it because you're embarrassed?" Natasha says, interrupting his train of thought.
"I'm not embarrassed" He really wasn't. He was against telling the team at first because he knew they wouldn't leave him alone about it, but he had never been embarrassed of liking anyone, and wasn't about to start now. He wanted to tell you, the problem was that he couldn't. It was just better for everyone involved if he kept his feelings to himself.
