I dont think I'll ever get over Tech's face during his and Omega's talk.

The way he was so open and genuinely showed Omega he was hurt by her words, and thought hard to articulate what he really wanted to say. He didn't understand at first, at first it didn't make sense why she was so angry. But once he did, once he realised it why she had a hard time, he tried.

He didn't know exactly how to say it, because he's used to his brothers knowing- but you can hear him use less neutral "We'll move past this" language to "It's hard. I dont always like how i do it, but I care."

He reaffirms that he understands he doesn't have a conventional way of showing his love, but he still loves infinitely, like she does.

It makes his line "there are many like us" line mean so much more. Because this is him saying I love you. This is him showing her he looks up to his brothers- he sees them, he always looks to them and he adores them. They've always been the most important thing to him, and with Omega he learns to show that. It's beautiful, it makes me sob.

I could write so much more on him.... on this scene, on all his scenes. I am him and he is me, it's so- I can't describe how nice it is to really see yourself and know that it's okay. That people understand and even enjoy those qualities. Getting mushy but he really does hold a special place in my heart.

Ohhhh yes I have so many thoughts. Firstly for the vibes I have one ultimate Brainrot Song For They which is The Cult of Dionysus by the Orion Experience.

Before I was actually shipping them they already all occupied the same place in my brain because they make a neat little box of relationships- Nessa and Orome are siblings, Tulkas and Vana are their spouses along with functionally being the "youngest" of the Valar (Vana the ever young, Tulkas the last to come to Arda), Orome and Tulkas have overlapping Domains of hunting and fighting and chase after Morgoth's beasties, Nessa and Vana are considered the weakest Valar and are associated with flowers and general disney princess vibes. That's the basis I was working on.

So it started with... probably Tulkas/Orome but Nessa/Vana wasn't far behind. Tulkas/Orome is peak "construct intricate rituals to touch other men by 'wrestling' in the forest" and also I thought their character vibes suited shipping very well (Tulkas "canonically laughs in battle" Astaldo and Orome "canonically constantly pissed off" Aldaron). Even the Tolkien Gateway article directly contrasts the two. I'm working with what I've got.

Nessa/Vana have textbook fairycore forest lesbian vibes. Making each other flower crowns and braiding each other's hair and dancing in a lush clearing with birds and butterflies and bees and delightful woodland creatures (not to mention Vana's plausible association with fertility ;) Quoth Tolkien Gateway: "Vána robed Nessa with her flowers for [Nessa's] wedding." Could this be gal pals? Sure! But where's the fun in that when it's super gay! This is the least feral pairing simply because of how they relate to each other, but they're also the most shameless.

Of course the problem is that I'm a chronic canon-shipper unless I Physically Cannot Stand it, and I do very much like Orome/Vana and Nessa/Tulkas because you get fun hunter/gardener and dance/dojo vibes respectively, so I fix this the same way that I fix every problem: polyamory!

Orome/Vana has definite Hades/Persephone vibes to me, but wilder and without the whole. Kidnaping thing. Yavanna even slots nicely into Demeter's role but again, no kidnapping. She's much more chill with her brother-in-law. I have many inarticulate vibes about Orome's Domain of the hunt and dying opposing and complimenting Vana's Domain of new life and fresh growth, and how hunters weren't supposed to kill deer in the spring. Because of this, I think Vana is one of the few Valar who has no subjugation(?) at all to Orome's Domain despite the clear nature overlap (others who wouldn't are Varda, Namo, Vaire, Nienna, and Aule, but that's because their Domains don't really overlap with his at all, except for Namo who as Death would overpower Dying.) They are, functionally, each other's force-pairs in Newton's third law- the equal and opposite reactions.

My love for Nessa/Tulkas is more characterization related: to me, they are the epitome of those 20-something Fitness Couples who keep those super detailed daily planners with spots to fill in how much water you drank, who make really healthy delicious looking meals with seemingly no effort and constantly drink various smoothies but like. Fantasy Flavor. Their idea of a hot date is to spot each other at the gym, and martial arts sparring. They would go feral for Capoeira. Crucially, they thrive off of this. Their relationship is astonishingly healthy and peppy and they serve as each other's hype-man. My vibes-only Valar-in-modern-society AU has them opening a strip mall dance class/dojo place.

So we have the siblings, and the spouses, and the spouse swap (which has some very funny crack potential, I specifically find it amusing to imagine Nessa calling dibs on Vana and tossing Tulkas to Orome before stealing her away (they are both very amused, Orome is vaguely aggravated because she could just ask for time with their wife)

Tulkas/Vana starts as something like a relationship of convenience, along the lines of "Hey, our spouses are busy chasing each other around like idiots for Sibling Shenanigans, want to make out?" but ends up as something not quite romantic but past... FWBs I guess lol. A foundation of their relationship is committing to the bit- If Nessa and Orome are arguing it's even odds as to who will side with who, but if either of them has an argument with Tulkas or Vana it is the other's sworn duty to side with their bestie, no matter how utterly stupid. They will "Yes-And" each other's stories into eternity, even if it's a blatantly untrue excuse. This drives their spouses absolutely insane because "I know you're lying, and I know you know I know you're lying, and I know for a fact that you weren't doing something as dumb as convincing Aule to put smiley face shapes in rocks" but they will double down. (The one time they did this to Yavanna while on a warpath was unintentional and terrifying once they realized, but they committed and got her so frustrated and confused that she bluescreened and stormed off, forgetting why she had been interrogating Vana in the first place). Basically, they bring out the idiot in each other, and despite having very little in common they get along very well. It is also important to me that I see their typical physical forms as being a massive, firey, golden-veined stone giant (Tulkas), and a young, uncanny, bug-eyed and golden-haired hobbit lass (Vana). To the Valar this doesn't really register as strange beyond vague inconvenience for interacting, but to any elves who see them hanging out together it Very Much Is.

To use the terms I used in Appointed, Orome and Vana are Counterpoints, Nessa and Tulkas, Nessa and Vana, and Orome and Tulkas are Harmonies, and Nessa and Orome are Tone-mates and Harmonies. Tulkas and Vana are not quite Harmonies but they harmonize regardless. Don't mind if this makes no sense lol.

Jimmy, Tweek, Clyde and Bebe take a shortcut through the North Park Funland, an abandoned amusement park stocked full of fun and definitely not infested with the undead. Clyde and Jimmy are infatuated with the empty park, thinking it’s awesome they have this entire place to themselves. Bebe is indifferent and cool-headed, while Tweek is constantly paranoid for every step he takes.

explanations:

Everything lined in red is not actually there. Bebe, Jimmy, Clyde and even Tweek don’t see these, but rather it’s a manifestation of Tweek’s anxiety and paranoia. The entity in the mirror house, the hunter watching the group, Craig, Clyde and Tolkien being deceased, Tweek’s tears, the flashes of him being dismembered, the figure watching Tweek sitting on the bench, Bebe being eaten alive, the smoker tongue/zombie figures about to attack Jimmy and Clyde while they enter the gift shop.

The last scene with the art styles switching is supposed to be Tweek spiraling into an even worse panicked state, things becoming disoriented and abnormal. Clyde has an X over the eye that is no longer there instead of an eyepatch because Tweek is thinking back to when he first lost it, with the thought that the same fate or even worse could happen to any of them at all times if they weren’t careful enough.

The second part of the styles switching is a flashback of Tweek’s memories before the apocalypse started, walking in the school hallway. Bebe is scribbled out because he didn’t know her well back then and Clyde has his other eye. The scene fades out, thus ending the animatic, leaving Tweek’s feelings unresolved and seemingly unending.

Jimmy and Clyde barely take notice of Tweek’s mental state, and Bebe tries to help but doesn’t fully understand what Tweek needs for support. He’s keeping a lot of his feelings internal, rather than normally yelling and expressing his emotions due to not wanting to attract a horde and killing himself and his group.

what was the point of this animatic:

to shine a light on how tweek is handling his anxiety throughout the apocalypse, and the negative effects it brings to him mentally

survivor! scar on snout is based on one of the cut arena sprites for player 1, it has a little.. scar? notch? line? there. survivor passage symbol on head as well and freckles :) some brown to match monk sorta. spikey fur!

overall more rounded than survivor, to reference the monk passage symbol which is also on their head. a little dewlap to reference gourmand - i think gourmand and survivor and monk are related. lighter yellows to reference survivor!

third sibling!!! the little orange line on their head is actually karma 7 (i realized survivor is karma 5 and monk is karma 6- so why not go with the theme?) and a sorta partial saint symbol on their head, missing the middle line. yellow/red accenting color to reference monk and survivor sorta. blu :)

nightcat is some sorta weird echo thing. to me. little wings for the fun of it. i dont have much on this design honestly other than i used dodge A Lot. the accenting pink on the dark purple parts was originally an accident but like? it vibes.

wanderer! cause actually why not. the white symbol on their chest is a half of sig's symbol, i'd like to think sig helped suns make wanderer. if you put its head symbol together with nightcat it makes the scholar :) blue accenting color is close to the negative/opposite colors of nightcat.

i dont have many notes for this biggol guy. sorta looks alike survivor and monk i suppose. feathers! theyre sorta rose colored i think. idk. it looks nice. simple patterns cause gourmand is a symbol guy

artiiii. i wanted to put an accent color on arti but it was so Hard because i was Stubborn and Needed That Damn Cyan on it. markings based on a siamese cat except for the ones on the arm and legs, theyre sort of tabby based?

green pup is tabby based in markings, pink sorta looks like flower petals. blue pup is siamese cat based in markings and the yellow? idk it looked nice

RIVULETTT. i love rivulet. i made the bright sunset gradient contrast by adding some darker but still vibrant blues and purples to the design, as well as a cream. there's also actual gills udner the display frills (which also got a color update to match instead of being an offbrand bi flag). also webbed fingers!!!

vibrant fuckin purple because it looks nice actually. made it have some cream-pink-purple thing as underbelly instead to make it look nicer. head markings are based directly on suns :) biggol Orb Eyes to Stare In Your Soul. accenting colors sorta match rivulet? idk? they just look nice without contrasting too much. also whiskers. and tall. and thin with long ass grabbers

i kept getting "portal colors" and "aroace flag" and like YEA YALL ARE RIGHT ACTUALLY i just wanted to fit blue and orange on it though lmao. anyway pretty simple body markings to make up for the Six Fucking Accent Colors. three forehead dots are yellow while there's an x on its back and head thats blue... to imitate the rot :) why? figure it out yourself

Collector analysis again! but small.

So, i believe that Collector does not enjoy turning people into puppets. i saw this idea thrown around a bit, and i think i agree with it. He uses more as a "punishment" than anything, really. but a harmless one; one he finds will keep them safe and sound.

Like with Lilith and Hooty! Lilith called King her nephew, something that Collector was not fond of. so, while sending a moon toward her to puppetify her, Hooty jumps in and gets hit instead. so Collector goes back for a second shot to actually get Lilith like intended.

I also was wondering if Hooty didn't do anything wrong, why didnt Collector fix it? Well, i figure theres two reasons for that. One: He needs puppets to play pretend with, and/or Two: Hooty helped Lilith when she had done something wrong(in his eyes).

He has an angry expression while doing this, yet a calm one when explaining how they're safe and not hurt. That Is His Form Of "Discipline". for now, at least.

or with Terra! whenever she insults King, that's whenever he turns her into a puppet. Angry expression, yet again, and his words: "you're not being very nice right now".

And to add on to this being discipline, Terra says this:

"Play along, and you won't get turned into a puppet. do your role correctly. " Also, when he holds up the moon, her reaction is anything BUT glee and cheerfulness. So, he knows it negatively affects people(this was also shown with Lilith's reaction to Hooty).

it also vaguely reminds me of whenever the Collector was in the mirror thingy. he was trapped and couldn't really do anything since he was a shadow. and these people, as puppets, are technically trapped and can't do anything. this one is a stretch, i think, but it makes some sense.

and onto how he speaks about Eda in this scene...

He's speaking about replacing Terra for the "real thing" because who can play Eda better than Eda herself? He clearly has a liking to Eda. He kept Terra around longer out of anyone because she's playing the role of Eda. He tried his best to explain her role to her—multiple times. When he's describing Eda to both Terra and King, he's very passionate about it. Smiling and excited! But he can't play with her because he thinks that she's still the owl beast. I think the awe comes from how King spoke about her to explain "The Owl House Game." Because he clearly had to speak about her to explain the game, as he did with Luz. i wouldn't be surprised if thats how King originally described Eda to Collector, and they just ran with it. or maybe they made that connection themselves based on how King spoke about her! both are plausible.

However, this admiration would not stop him from disciplining her. He says this:

He may have been talking about the Owl Beast in specific, but either way, he was meaning Eda.

Now, i can't say for certain why everyone else was turned into puppets(other than the other adults, because I'd say that was because they were attacking along with some of the students). But these were also his spies, not him himself. though that's what we saw.

And given that this kid would turn someone into a puppet for saying the wrong word, anything was possible! (i saw like two people say he did that because he saw "nephew" as a threat because of Belos and Hunter)

But he obviously doesn't like doing it, and typically only does it whenever he's angry or feels threatened. But hey! it seems to be better than what the other Collectors would do! as seen in the book, i feel like if they were to do something like this, it would end with a lot of actual harm and probably even murder. which does make me nervous for the next episode, but!! we'll see what it actually means, probably

her head was spinning, her stomach cramping, and the acidic fluid was slowly crawling up her chest to her throat. she managed to swallow it back down and open her eyes, looking around at the basic room. she'd never been here before. she didn't recognize it at all.

she attempted to sit up, immediately hearing a protest from across the room. "i wouldn't do that if i were you," anakin said.

she groaned and laid back, rubbing her eyes and looking over at him. "what?"

"its not smart to try to get up right now," he said softly. "you're hurt."

she sighed and immediately felt the pain in her thigh return. "i'm fine," she lied.

the corners of his lips curled up slightly. "oh really? tell your mind that."

"you're reading my thoughts?" she asked curiously. qui-gon had taught her how to keep people out of her head. she'd been using that technique ever since. how was he doing that?

he let out a chuckle under his breath. "because you're hurt," he replied. "it makes you more vulnerable. when we first met, i couldn't read anything."

before she even had the opportunity to reply, the door was opening and her mentor was entering the room. she feared what he'd say. maybe he'd never send her on a mission again. it wasn't her first, but she felt as though it may be her last due to this. and his silence was only making it worse.

"i'm sorry master," she blurted out immediately in defeat. "i failed you."

he moved to sit on the side of the bed next to her, a comforting smile on his lips. "no need to apologize. you did not fail me, dear. things happen and thats alright. not everything goes as planned. you handled it better than i could've asked," he said softly, holding her hand in his own. "i should've never sent you out there with no protection. because of my reckless decision, you got hurt."

maybe if i were a better fighter and less scared of the possibilities, i would've never gotten hurt and i could've completed the mission, she thought, completely forgetting the two could read what she was thinking.

obi-wan let out a soft sigh and squeezed her hand tighter. "anakin, may i have a word with serenity? alone please?"

he nodded. "yes master," he complied, stepping out of the room and shutting the door behind him.

"you did not fail me, serenity," the jedi said. "you are one of the greatest i have ever known. at your age, i couldn't do half the things you can. if i were in your situation, that hunter would've killed me. you can even ask qui-gon. therefore you should be proud, dear. you held your own."

she shook her head slowly. "if i didn't waste so much energy, i could've taken him and got the job done. i wasn't thinking and it cost everything."

"it did not," he reassured. "my top priority isn't finding some planet or meeting the prime minister, its about keeping you and anakin safe. and you're still alive, aren't you?" she nodded in response. "then you have nothing to worry about. you did better than i could've ever asked of you."

she squeezed his hand tighter and took a much needed deep breath. "thank you master."

he gave her a crooked smile. "now keep those negative thoughts out, alright? i'm proud of you, dear," he said before pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "anakin, you may come in."

the padawan quickly returned, once again closing the door behind him and returning to his spot by the corner.

"why did he come after me?" serenity asked suddenly. "the hunters. i thought they wanted senator amidala."

"it is clear that they've also taken a liking to you and your abilities as well," obi-wan said distastefully with a scowl. "that yellow mist was to weaken you. we're not sure how long it'll take to wear off, but the nurses gave you something to help bring it back up faster. and until we can confirm your safety from these hunters, anakin will be stationed with you to keep you protected while you heal."

she dug the heels of her hands into her eyes and groaned. "i'm fine master. i feel normal."

"i can read you, reni. you're not fine," he replied like a parent.

she huffed out a frustrated breath, immediately regretting that decision when she felt a burn slide along her throat. she immediately sat up despite the pain in her body and headed towards the bathroom. leaning over the toilet to vomit up the contents of her stomach. she felt a comforting hand on her upper back and another holding her hair away from her face.

she felt like she wanted to cry. she wasn't sure the last time she genuinely did cry, but her fear of throwing up was really hitting her like a bus right now.

once she felt somewhat okay, she used a paper towel that was laid out to wipe her mouth and lean back against the wall. she watched as obi-wan entered the bathroom while anakin continued rubbing soft circles with his palms.

"you feel fine, right?" their master teased softly.

she nodded, stomach turning again. "i do. i just have a fear of vomiting," she admitted embarrassingly.

"you're meant to fight in some of the most difficult situations and you swore yourself to the jedi code for a lifetime but you fear vomiting?" he said with a slight grin, trying to hold his laugh back.

she once again nodded with a straight face. just thinking about it was enough to cause her to hurl over the toilet and let out whatever was sitting uneasily in her stomach. anakin held her hair away again, lightly patting on her back this time to try to get everything out to spare her from this pain again.

she wiped her mouth once more and leaned back, closing her eyes and taking deep breaths. she absolutely hated this disgusting feeling. "i don't think i have anything else left in me right now," she mumbled weakly under her breath.

"do you want to lay back down?" anakin asked softly, offering a hand for her to take, which she gratefully did with a soft 'yes.' he carefully pulled her up and escorted her into the bed with a hand on her lower back, making sure she didn't fall or anything on the way.

"i'm gonna go get you something to eat, alright? you need something in your stomach after that." obi-wan said. "watch over the room anakin, i will return shortly." and with that, he disappeared out of the room.

the padawan trailed over to the singular sofa and took a seat to give his legs a break. "you shouldn't beat yourself up over this too much you know," he said softly. "one time when i messed up so bad, he banned me from going on missions for three months until i finally got over myself and admitted that it wasn't my fault," he explained quickly. "the sooner you admit that it wasn't your fault, the faster this journey will continue for you."

"three months is harsh," she chuckled softly. "is that why he took me on missions so often for a while?"

anakin couldn't help but let out a laugh. "probably." the room fell into a comfortable silence now. he looked over at the bed she was laying in then towards the door their mentor would be walking through soon. "he seems to really care for you."

she was a bit caught off, trying to comprehend what he was talking about. "what?"

"master kenobi," he said clearly. "he seems like he has a soft spot for you." he shifted slightly in his seat and got a bit more comfortable. "how'd you two meet anyway?"

"i could ask you the same," she replied with a slight grin.

he smiled and breathily chuckled. "i'll tell you if you tell me," he offered.

uhh heres a good place to start for lore-grounding! alexander graves is a ghost from the 1500s who now serves in the court of the queen of monsters, notably being the only male member of the high court. hes far from a strong fighter, though his strengths are that as a ghost he cannnot die- and that for a ghost, hes VERY good at pretending to be alive

he has a confident, well-spoken air about him but its not hard to pin him as a more introverted, even shy person under it. the sort of person who would prefer keep their head down and go back to their business quietly, but one who holds the people close to him in an adoring regard. (hes NOT in the high court for his power after all- his value is in his kindness) hes been a diligent seamster since a young age & in-canon most of the clothing designs of characters under the queen can be credited to him lol

marcus deangelo THE BIRD BOY OF ALL TIME is alex's notably more introverted angel son. he tends to take the role of the silly goon/errand boy in the queens court & forms a light-hearted team rocket-esque duo with the plague doctor to take back pandora's box, stolen from the queen & brought to the monster hunters

marcus is an immediately curious character because he fits the high-energy genki archetype like a glove & has nothing but positivity for others- but his philosophy towards his own life & future are absolutely bleak. and the thing to pin about him is, he isnt really all that dumb- its more a mix of lack of worldly knowledge & this ascetic fold of catholicism where Bad Things Happen To Me Because I Somehow Deserve Them so he has LITTLE self-preservation & accepts misfortune without a fight

alexander holds the same self-poisoning principles, but marcus is the only one naive enough to say the quiet parts out loud. its not something the man ever pushed upon his sons but rather something they adopted themselves after seeing it from their role model. congrats to them for inheriting all their fathers positive traits AND his negative traits theyre both adopted btw

I am a big fan of Pinocchio, most of DOAHC is based on Pinocchio and I once did a well known sonic comic based on Pinocchio, but when I heard this movie came out. Holy shit-

I watched it and I fucking loved it!

The characters looked like their cartoon originals and yes, Robert Zemeicks (if thats how you say his last name) actually upped the intensity of the donkey transformation scene.

I was gripping onto my bed when that scene happened!

The CGI was perfect, especially the blue fairy looked beautiful-

First off, I like the original concept of the blue fairy from the 1940 movie. She's beautiful, majestic and pretty cute. But the live action version of her goes to a whole new level.

You know they did well with the CGI and they just make her more mythical, elegant and beautiful all at the same time. Even if she doesn't match up to your expectations of the original blue fairy, I still think she's more beautiful than the original.

So, say what you want about the remake.

I'm keeping my vote.

Had another late rise today. I hope I find the strength to wake up at 11am again soon. Today was good because I was not at jury duty. Thats all I can really ask for

I'm gonna start trying to learn one kanji a day on top of practicing my kana and numbers, and first one I picked is probably more complicated than I should have chosen, but I have a history with chinese characters so the complexity of the particular kanji isnt really a concern for me

Today I went with 願 (ねが ne ga), because I was going through my lessons again and like the first thing they teach you is introduce yourself! Say "onegaishimasu" and then I look up to read the kana and it says お願いします, and I'm like come on bro. So I learned that one. Maybe thats how I'll choose, I'll just go by whatever pops up next in my lessons lol. Its 19 strokes but I sat there and did it over and over for like 10 minutes and I think i got it. I actually like learning stroke order and stuff. I always preferred writing chinese over speaking it

I really need to get back to streaming, which i say all the time, but speedrunning and goofy challenge runs would be good for streams. Im trying to beat Onimusha without upgrading weapons or using healing items right now. The trick with that is if you kill enemies with an issen strike they always drop health souls, but issen are very hard to pull off. It forces you to really learn every enemies attack animations well, which is something I love doing

A big point of contention with me and my friends rn is they dont get how I can just sit and play Monster Hunter for multiple hours at a time. My brother has admitted many times now thay he is never paying attention when we play, he just auto pilots fights because he doesnt find enjoyment in fighting them once hes basically seen everything they can do. But like thats the fun, is learning how kill things faster and more efficiently. I can play for hours on end because its fun to react to something a monster did and cause it to fall out of the air mid jump because you knew your weapons hitboxes well enough to hit it backwards while it was above you. And then he points out thats the fun of fighting games and asks why i dont wanna play those anymore, and I'm like because I fucking hate other humans and the way their minds work lol. I want to abuse a poor helpless CPU player that cant even stand on two legs. The lizard men in Onimusha raise their little cleaver and I go haha idiot, and I instant kill their ass. Thats what sparks joy for me. Thats also why I've been playing games alone for two months I guess hehe

Anyways, thats not really me complaining exactly, I'm trying to be aware of my negativity you see, thats all to say that I love the slop Capcom puts in my trough. It's good slop. I'm also so fucking excited for Splatoon 3 Side Order (i guess) but more importantly HYDLIDE 3 COMES OUT TODAY YAHOOOO

the way the whole scene plays out with the rabbit guy does such a good job addressing the concept of predestined shounen power or someone just being lucky enough to have been born of great warriors, aka gon & killua! gon is slightly different since he lived in nature all his life & learned how to hone his senses to levels that were supernatural before the show even got into the hunter exam let alone nen but he also has ging’s legacy to uphold, esp since everyone & their mother seems to know about the two of them. in regards to the behavior of the chimera ants & the process of phagogenesis, the ants are only born with their particular views on society & power bc they’re getting it from the humans the queen digested; every prejudice, every feeling of entitlement, except made worse when put through the black-and-white filter of animal survival. predators and prey are natural elements of any food chain & thus free of any moral failure, but ingesting humans also gave the ants the anxieties humans have over falling short where others effortlessly succeed. it made them aware of their place in the food chain & gave way to ambition, frustration, hatred, sadism, and eventually subservience, which is what the rabbit guy went through.

my point in how it relates to gon & killua is that while we know the ants inherited the most toxic parts of humanity, we learn from the apex himself that it is entirely possible to unlearn these things & open your heart, even if it makes you vulnerable. the only other option is to stick with seeking power for power’s sake & closing your heart. gon’s upbringing differs from killua’s because he was not raised in prejudice, while the zoldycks actually foreshadow the ants: a tight-knit family of killers that believe themselves to be above everyone else, & have the power to “prove” it. this is continued with the phantom troupe. and what begins cracking the foundation of all three units is not just love, but the Choice to love. its easy for gon to love, because mito and the rest of whale island loved him. to killua, its like swallowing poison, and much like his training, he swallows enough of it that it starts to change him. whats even more interesting is that as the new zoldyck generation continues to be born, the less interested they are in sticking by their family, because no one is born hard. no one is born with hate in their heart. they have to learn it. (kalluto’s a somewhat grey take on that since hes the second youngest & was forced to spend way too much time with kikyo, but thats because he was undertaking two forms of molding: to be a killer & to be the daughter she wanted.)

the ants are born into a mold, only knowing to follow the basic instincts of eat or be eaten. as they get more self-aware, they start having emotional responses to that, and a resulting desire for individuality. these feelings get sent into turmoil when they get threatened by ants who are much stronger & in a higher class than them, & they learn defeatism when they decide there’s no point in seeking improvement. a lot of the adults kinda echo this when they see how powerful gon & killua are, but they don’t feel defeated in the end. most if not all of them are like “ykw? i haven’t trained in a while. i should go back to that. this new generation of hunters has inspired me.” you have to be open to change, or it’ll literally kill you.

 this applies to gon’s fate because for all his patience & kindness, he rarely allowed himself the catharsis of pure, unfiltered rage. he was justifiably angry at many of his enemies, but he never wanted to hurt anyone just for the sake of inflicting pain. he unfortunately needed moments like that, because little moments of change matter just as much as the larger scale ones, even if they give way to negative feelings. in the same episode, the lion guy sees how powerful the main trio are & makes his squad retreat, admitting that they’re vastly outclassed, but now are blessed with the ability to learn from this mistake. gon did not ever allow himself to fail or fall short -- we see during a scene from the hunter exam arc where hes gritting his teeth & crying bc he wasn’t strong enough to complete some kind of task. gon was raised with love, but is now too deep into the world of his father, a world where inflicting & experiencing the most brutal pain is the only way to sharpen yourself. we see through killua that its not. we see through meruem that its not.

gon’s whole arc depicts him progressively losing the purity (not naivety!) he tried so hard to cling to, an innocence that he may actually believe to be a fault. “if i harden myself & go through the toughest training & witness things no child should have to see, ill be worthy enough for my dad. but i couldn’t save his friend, an extension of him, the only real link ill probably ever have, so it goes to show that i have been unworthy this whole time. the last thing i can do to uphold this legacy even a little bit will be to die fighting the thing that killed him. dad would want me to.” gon, a child, will slit his own throat before he kneels to a higher power, before kneeling to anyone who isn’t ging. and that is the tragedy bc its the one thing he can’t change, or unlearn, or whose toxicity he cant even admit to. my dad hits me because he loves me

What I like about them

high int low wis build. stupidest cheeto puff but i say it affectionately. anyway its like. shes trying SO HARD. its obvious she is doing her best throughout the entire show but shes like. A fucking realistically written character who is misguided and MASSIVELY FUCKING UP AT EVERY TURN. but she's TRYING she's trying REALLY HARD. she WANTS to be a good person she WANTS to help eda she WANTS to fix things!!!! unfortunately for her shes narratively doomed.

What I dislike about them

high int low wis build but like. negative. shes so fucking smart but she totally lacks any common sense. she would not be able to do half the shit she does if she weren't *really* smart, but also she simply would not have done half the shit she does if she weren't *really* dumb. schrodinger's intellect

ALL of elsewhere and elsewhen. like yes girl. punch that bitch in the face. be incredibly suspicious all episode and still be susceptible to manipulation because you're still healing. realize you've hit your lifelong 'nearly killing your niece' quota and that eda will actually genuinely maybe murder you if you let her nearly get killed again.

Least favourite moment

hm. now like she definitely has a lot worse moments but i gotta say keeping up afearances. like girl no. that's an 8 year old. stop projecting your insane mommy issue game onto an excited 8 year old. he did nothing. i want to grab her and shake her back and forth like a maraca jesus CHRIST.

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more

HER SCOUT YEARS!!! Put her on that fucking mountain. Girl vs allconsuming guilt vs the cult she just joined who will WIN. i DONT KNOW BUT THE GIRL WILL DEFINITELY LOSE HOLY **SHIT!!!!** Also just her time in the coven in general.... i would KILL for a spinoff i know its not happening but AHEEHEE....

SO! That mask she has in s1! The one she wears literally twice! That gem on it is the same type of gem that Odalia has on Amity. She hates it and goes out of her way not to wear it.

despite it being the boiling isles with an insanely warm climate when shes in the coven she literally just straight up doesn't have any short sleeve shirts. this is thanks to her being deranged.

so. ears. witch body language. et cetera et cetera. lilith has the resting bitch face of a lifetime* but she never got a handle on that.

RELATED: she got into shit really often when she was a scout for Literally Just Stimming because Its the emperors coven and the emperors coven is the probable literal least welcoming place for autistic people on the entire isles. shes resorted to just messing with her hair because she can totally excuse it with like ohhh my hair was messed up blah blah. i do this actually but just because not because of any elaborate plan to get away with stimming in public.

in s1 shes on anxiety meds but they're like the most fucking insanely outdated prescription ever. hasn't gotten adjusted since she was 18. same with her glasses. in s2, however, eda manages to badger her into seeing a healer (hypocrite, eda has not seen a healer in 30 years either) and she gets her meds & glasses prescription updated. still on anxiety meds, also on antipsychotics now. a little bit of why shes so much more stable** in s2b! yes girl, get on meds that actually work for you! holy shit why have you not seen a doctor already!

butterfly heart, watching the strings that controlled him for sudden movement, 

so high strung i walked a tightrope n he walked securely on the ground, 

my throat screamed as i begged god for sleep each night, lying next to him

as his breaths, even and whole, unbothered, watched over me, 

a nervous, flighty hope in the moments that he almost was kind. 

when we half laughed for just a moment, when his hand lightened its grip and

something soft was draped over his claws and he held me, in that 

shipwreck bed, in that cavernous hole, in the sheets that held my screams. 

i loved him like a burning house and everything i owned burned with it

Now that we know that Dream and Tommy ARE going to be on a team (THANK YOU SCOTT FINALLY WE LOVE YOU), what would you said the best approach they should take in regards to leadership, training, etc? Basically what do you think could lead them to a win?

hm ok take this w a pinch of salt tho bc we don’t know if they’re adding new/readding any old games:

games they should avoid: DEF buildmart, holy fucking shit at no point should they EVER play this game, idc SKIP IT!! istg i WILL trend neg this team has some of the biggest build mart haters n im worried bc there are several teams w no strong pvpers so build mart is possible it CANNOT be played esp not second half oh jesus. mcc17 CC is worse than mcc16 PP at buildmart too

ig they could also skip HITW? idk, now’s not the time to put dream’s HITW destiny to the test. game’s still too glitchy, unpredictable. and what follows will be my advice for the other games ig?

sky battle: this game is a potential record breaker for them if they play it right but im conflicted on How they should play it. imo dream needs to stay w his team and not do PP16’s strat bc the lava bucket has been removed so the whole taking a team out early thing is not gonna work. they need the whole team to stay together or they’re getting owned which happened low key, dream only got 5th bc he’s a very good pvper, he should’ve been doing better than that tbh n would’ve if he didn’t send bad off for 1v4s And if he didn’t rush off for kills n tunnel vision on george (when he didn’t kill h n went for george anyway only to get owned by captainsparklez bc low health that PAINED me)

sky battle part 2: anyway as for tommy… usually they are on opposing teams n tommy’s rushing in at the end thing frustrates dream but would it be what they need to get a huge lead this time? tommy is v much agent of chaos wild card w his plays, and it makes me wonder if dream should play into it/come clean up after, aka dream follows tommy’s lead and is his right hand man rather than the other way around. i do think they need to be careful early game tho, looking out for sapnap/george/tubbo, fruitninja, quig, punz etc. keeping together n not taking risky kills early is something they should do esp in round one. idk what else they can do tbh

battle box: my advice will be very map dependent n idk the map yet, but they need ponk n karl to defend wool (fill in everything except one) and dream and tommy either need to take one lane each, rush together for kills, or bow from afar. hopefully luck is on their side too for this

tgttosawaf: tommy ponk and karl NEED to listen to dream and NOT punch anyone. oh my god i am on my knees. the punch tier lists r very funny but they need to listen also dream and tommy need to do bridging n karl n ponk hopefully can follow thats all i can hope for. n dream needs to get out of his own head about terra swoop force the more scared he does the worse he will do

parkour tag: p straight forward. dream runs 4 times, tommy runs 4 times, ponk runs once. don’t get tagged n tag the others fast etc they have the potential to do even better than PP16 did bc i think tommy’s a p good hunter

sands of time: they need to prepare ponk to explore n what to watch out for, n make sure karl is up to date w everything sand keepers can and need to do in SoT bc he should be sand keeper. dream and tommy need to be careful n also maintain communication

survival games: stick together, idk the map but they shouldn’t go where it would be hard to reach other teams (imo roof strat wasn’t a good idea for pink last mcc) but they also shouldn’t risk confronting a full team etc etc, dream and tommy need to be on the same page

ace race: dream needs to aim for 1st, he needs to hit those skips that noxcrew hopefully won’t try to nerf even more since they’re hard to hit anyway, i don’t think the others should try the skip, tommy could get top 10 if he keeps his cool bc he has the mechanical ability for it, i think ponk has top20 potential, and karl can hopefully get top 25

grid runners: hm not much to advise on here, they know the maps now, so they p much know what to do but there could be new stuff ig? not a big threat they should do okay

dodgebolt: UHHH BE CAREFUL. dream don’t fall into the lava. same strat dream always does. order is prob dream tommy ponk karl. i hope they don’t go against a strong dodgbolt team

I know some people prefer consistent content but I like to take it as it comes and sometimes life happens and other projects need to take priority. 

So right now, I consider this to be a mid season break. Techno going into the prison was like the midseason finale for the Dream Prison Arc and Wilbur and Ranboo’s stuff was like their midseason finale and the Red Banquet where the egg was contained, was a midseason finale and alllllllll the mini episodes we’ve had since there are like specials etc. 

You know, like how in Dr Who you can go a few years without a solid season but get a special at Christmas and New Year? You know like that. 

So like all other programs, stories, videos I watch, I am coming up with ways in which the next bit could go. Some are a bit out there and definitely not happening, others I could see happening. 

This is long and pointless and full or errors both grammatically and spelling wise but I had fun thinking of what could happen next. Read if you want.

Dream escapes prison with Technoblades help. A server wide man hunt comes for Dream but unlike his videos he had stolen the spare armour in the prison and so is pretty OP making it easier for him to put distance between his enemies and himself. 

Technoblade returns to the artic and him, Phil and Will come to an in pass, a slight disagreement. Philza whilst having sided with Dream before, knows he’s not a good guy. Only used him to help destroy lmanburg for his own morals. It was not because he agreed with Dream. In his eyes, he was using Dream for his own goals. Plus, now he’s seen the aftermath of Dream’s terror on the citizens he realises the man perhaps shouldn’t be set to run entirely free. This slightly goes against Techno’s beliefs but the main issue of tension between them is Technoblade willingly placing himself in danger when he didn’t need too and helping release the man who tortured Tommy and clearly has something going on with Ranboo thats bad. 

Wilbur is angry because Techno won’t say where Dream has gone due to an agreement between the two and Technoblade is a man of his word. Wilbur wishes to thank and meet the man who saved him. This also worries Philza because he’s worried he’ll revert back to the man he saw the day he blew up L’Manburg. Over all tension between the three

Niki and Wilbur finally meet and it is as heartbreaking as it is beautifully tragic. Wilbur apologises but misses the mark, misses what hurt her which hurts her more. There’s an explosion with their argument that leaves a stunned silence. Niki asks Wilbur to leave. He does so. 

This leads to a Wilbur and Ranboo conversation where Ranboo tries to reason with Wilbur about Niki’s side. Wilbur brushes it off because much like the blue counterpart we all miss, he’s not a fan of the negative emotion. He tries to focus on the business etc and let’s slip that Dream has escaped somehow. Ranboo leaves. Wilbur is confused but distracted by a confrontation with Quackity.

Ranboo then starts his stream and he’s in the fucking panic room and he’s panicking because there are signs so many signs and they don’t make sense. Theres lesson rules, asking about the missing journal and it’s like every issue he’s ever faced is staring right back at him because Ranboo has never really resolved any issue, just pushed and moved on. He’s tried but that usually failed and for a while he’s ignored all the issues and here they are in front of him, all at one. A big volcanic eruption of anxiety and stress, and it ain’t sitting with him. 

Dream appears. But is it really him? We never know because after a conflict and a back and fourth about everyone in Ranboo’s life eventually landing on a threat about Michael and Tubbo, he blacks out and the stream ends. 

Quackity is livid with everything thats happening, the careful empire he’s building is falling apart and he’s shifting the blame around from person to person. He manipulates everyone around them into believing this is somehow their own fault and that they must make it up to him because he has been nothing but kind and loving to them. He gave them a place, a roof on their head when they had nothing. He misses out the parts where he insulted and or destroyed their homes, but it works and his employee “family” become the main bounty hunters for Dream, with Bad and Ant tagging along since they’re guards. 

Now the streams relating to the manhunt displays everyones wants. They’re all doing this wanting something, and whilst it’s to gain Quackity’s favour back they’re all doing that for different reasons. Their motivations are somewhat different even if on the surface they are the same and so on the man hunts, because there will be many, this is slowly picked apart and through that the manipulation of Quackity is revealed and then we see a parrallel between Quackity and previous people in power where they start to get desperate to keep control over the thing they’ve created. Because that’s been one of (not the only) issues with every leader on the server, the control and their feeling of lack of, even if thats not truly the case. But you get these moments between all the characters where they’re trying to outwit one another, trying to figure it out without blatantly saying it. Maybe Foolish does. He’s a bit of a himbo. 

Ponk always said he’d leave the door open for Sam and I truly think something happens, whether it be a look in the mirror with one of his guards going too far with someone or a conversation with Quackity where Quackity holds the mirror up to Sam maliciously, that causes him to hit the rock bottom and just break and I want that breakdown in front of Ponk. And I want Ponk not necessarily to give him the second chance off the bat but give him that peace offering, give him that hand to pull him up. I want him to take Sam to Niki and explain to Niki we’ve done bad things in the past, this is a safe haven and I believe Sam needs help and a place he can truly feel safe and for a moment Sam does and this begins his raid to redemption in gaining back the trust of the people in his lives. He becomes Tubbo 2.0 spying on Quackity like Tubbo did for Wilbur, but maybe less... bad.

But what of the Fiances? Wellllll,. With Dream escaping him and George meet in secret. George confesses he doesn’t believe it’s real and for a long time has been struggling with reality. He misses the early days, misses when they’d just have fun. Dream says he was having fun and George says I wasn’t. Dream shows true regret for George but says its too late now, can’t change the past. George agrees. Dream asks him what he’s going to do and he simply replies with “Sleep” Ending stream. 

Sapanps stream is a lot more WE ARE GOING ON A DREAM HUNT WE’RE GOING TO CATCH A BIG ONE, I’M NOT SCARED. vibes. He’s gearing up, he’s suiting up and he’s saluting pets on the way. He made a promise and with everything else going on in his life, he’s ready to throw himself into a distraction. He tries to convince George to help him but he waves him off saying, what’s the point? and mumbles something about divine powers and dreams which Sapnap just shakes off. He tries to find Karl in Kinoko but instead comes across Quackity. They have a blow up about how They abandoned each other, both did wrong but neither see the other side of things and eventually he tells him to leave. Quackity says okay, and the place blows up. Foolish cries in the corner. All that heard work but the boss said so. Sapnap ends the whole thing saying at least he’s there for Karl and Quackity pauses and is like why? And Sapnap is all like you care. Just go, you’ve done enough damage, I can’t have you damaging him too. And after a little more but but but between the two, Quackity goes. Sapnap leaves the place to burn, going to find Dream and hopefully Karl on the way. 

Karls in space. That’s where his latest travels have taken him and where the other side decided was his time to visit. Here I see a Wizard in Oz scenario where solutions to some issues will be revealed for Karl in relation to the other side. When it comes to his Dream SMP stuff, he starts confusing names and people more and Sapnap is worried about him, considering keeping him in a safe place. The only place that survived was the library with Karls books. Karl says he’ll stay there. Thats where the answers are anyway. Sapnap is unsure and gets bad vibes but is distracted by a lead on Dream and agrees, he tells him he’ll be back soon. 

They don’t see each other for a long ass time 

I’m not sure on the egg stuff but I do feel Niki and Puffy should have a conversation about all the shit thats happened and Puffy trying to help Niki and vice versa. I feel like Puffy should reach out to Foolish and try and comprehend what the fuck is he doing with Quackity. They have a little argument but it comes to a point where Puffy realises she cannot shield Foolish from harm and that her son ,just make his own decisions. All she can do is guide him where she can and hope that when it comes down to it he will make the right choice. She hopes she didn’t fail this dependant like she did with Dream her duckling. Though only she sees it as failure. 

Jack and Niki finally talk. She goes searching for some things and comes to his new place, he tells her to fuck off and that he doesn’t need anyone. They all abandon him. Niki pretty much does the verbal equivalent of slap some sense into him as she and him discuss how he is not the centre of everything, how he is not the sun. She was hurting, and he didn’t bother, no instead they just fed off each others anger and once he couldn’t feed of her or anyone else he isolated himself. She tries to convince him there are better things in life, there are better ways to place your energy etc. A lot of healing talk with Jack being stubborn. Eventually Jack finds himself at the door of Quackity after sticking to stubbornness, not quite ready to heal and he becomes the next member of Las Nevadas. A big blow to Wilbur too. 

They finally destroy the egg with magic. I dunno how but either destroy or hatch. Either or would be great. Red comes out the thing and I want a gay ass villain please. Bring it Red. Let’s go. Invite him to the server, bring the fire, bring the plant power Red. He can be the villain that unites everyone in a begrudging way. Like they all hate each other but fine i guess we’ll team to stop Red and Ant. 

Skeppy’s dead. 

Tubbo and Ranboo have a fight but Ranboo says “Weren’t we enough?” and it’s in relation to him and Michael (this happens before panic room). Thats when Tubbo realises where the wires got crossed and he immediately rectifies it but explaining he’s happy with the two of them but he wanted a job, something to work towards. Family wise he’s got it all, he’s content with it all but he wanted a project and one that didn’t incite violence. Fun rivalry sure, but he’s done with violence, he’s doesn’t want to add to the nightmares he already has. He wants competition but not one that will put all he loves in danger. So they talk it out and Ranboo feels more confident and Tubbo asks him to tell him if he ever takes anything too far because he can get a little carried away sometimes. Ranboo agrees and then they have a cute playdate with Michael. Then Ranboo does the thing with Wilbur and ends up in panic room.

Tommy and Tubbo discuss everything and lay it all out on the table because Tommy doesn’t want to be on the other side again with Tubbo. Tubbo doesn’t understand why everyone is making such a big deal about his burger business and Tommy tries to explain the issues with Quackity and the level of intensity he’s seen with Wilbur but Tubbo just laughs it off. They eventually talk about Ranboo and Tommy relents saying he likes Ranboo although he does sometimes get jealous of how Tubbo seems to have it all. Tubbo tells Tommy of his nightmares and so does Tommy to Tubbo. They come to an understanding with each other and understand that no matter how long they go apart, there is always a space shaped to fit them perfectly in their lives for them. Tubbo and Tommy then go play some pranks. 

Wilbur is unhappy with the pranks and gives a lecture and they get into a fight. This leads to Wilbur talking man to man to Quackity. Theres some weird sexual tension. Once again they’re trying to outwit one another. That when we get to the crazy stuff. 

And here’s where I get crazy with my stuff. 

Ponk is digging in his lil cave when he accidentally breaks through to a random room buried deep underground. Tommy’s there trying to scam him out of something he has. Tubbo and Ranboo too. When they get to this room Ranboo thinking it’s the panic one and freaks out, but the others calm him down. Ponk thinking theres diamonds in the room storms ahead setting off some traps but surviving. Tubbo opens one of the chests and just says theres a bucket in there. Ponk pulls it out and says it has a named fish in it. 

You see where I’m going. 

They empty the bucket whilst asking what the fish is called. They are interrupted by a voice. It’s Sally. 

Dream had captured her and bound her to a bucket and put her in the chest and hid her from Wilbur. 

She has been released. She freaks out over how much time has past because for her nothing has changed at all. She thought it might have been a couple of hours or something since Dream pulled that prank on her but clearly not. 

They all catch up and the season ends with Sally and Wilbur meeting in front of Quackity, Dream in the shadows and Sally and Wilbur turning to see Fundy who just freaks the fuck out. 

Oh and just a side, Callahan is the last member of the syndicate and God of the server and is having fun playing with the mortals. 

And then I have the next season planned out and how I’d end the whole thing but like until then. This is it. Mid Season to finale. How I picture things happening. 

None of this will happen but isn’t it fun to imagine?
