Who else wants a Buck x Rocker fic?

If you’re paying attention, you can see the 118 firehouse putting out a fire from an explosion in the early days of SWAT. (Though the 20-David team is on the scene.)

Maybe they meet when fire and paramedics are called to one of Rocker’s scenes, and Buck’s still 1.0, so he flirts excessively, but Rocker’s a professional so he doesn’t engage, but Buck can see a smile poking at the corner of his lips, so he continues good-naturedly whenever they see each other.

Rocker is professional because he works in a different kind of dangerous job, and he’s protective of his team because they somewhat of a family, but Buck understands because the 118 is his family.

Buck cools down the flirting when he meets Abby, but he grows as a person as Rocker watches and the two become friends beyond somewhat-coworker-friends.

Bombs start showing up across the city, and the two boys worry over each other, and Buck ends up under a fire engine. Maybe Rocker is there — working — so he has to ignore Buck’s screams to focus on the bomber.

Maybe that’s when they start dating.

Buck learns what it means to worry over someone every day and learns what it means to have someone worry over his well being and his job.

They keep meeting up on scenes, and Buck will flash him a big grin when he sees Rocker is there, and Rocker will now return it with a shy grin. They both get teased every time by their respective teams making them each blush.

It can be hard with two crazy schedules to find time to spend together, but they make it work, enjoying the good days and holding each other up on the bad days.

With the chaos of the their respective careers, their relationship is just peaceful for them both.

You know from time to time I find myself thinking about nonviolent commutation? Like the story and everything and how well it's written and just??? (Also I JUST realized a week or so ago the same comes from the spiderverse song??? That's wild I love the song Im listening to it a lot lately???)

And one thing that sorta came to mind? Was like. Can you imagine Jess has Miguel watch her baby for a while? (Maybe even just for a mission) Who's much smaller and calmer then Mayday and just mainly sleeps in his arms. And he's never held a tiny tiny baby in his arms for this long, little baby hands reflexively grasping his large fingers and babbling? And he just gets caught daydreaming, how cute a baby would be with Druz's nose and hair, and then he thinks about how Gabriel's eye color would be something he'd like to see again and keeps going until he goes bright red because he had been unconsciously mixing their traits for a baby??? Where did that come from?!

The thought alone is so cute, omg! Can you imagine how small the baby would look in his big arms?!?! And two, Miguel thinking about a baby with some of his and dulzura’s physical traits (also, Miguel thinking about wanting to see Gabriel's eye color again - you've gone straight for my heart with this one!😭 We all know NC!Miguel loves and misses his little brother sm and I bet he'd cry if he got to see that beautiful shade of brown in his child's eyes, reminding him of his little brother - I'm gonna go cry, brb), and then realizing he’s been thinking about a baby from you and him? I need to take a moment to process this cuteness!!

After Eden, he gave up on meaningful relationships, hence the Fuck Boy™️ attitude. But imagine him and reader going from Hate Sex to ‘Hate’ Sex and slowly learning to depend on each other to the point that Adam randomly goes into Reader’s room, flops down, no words, just there.

Not for sex. Not to rant. Just to be there in the same room with you. Because you’re a safe space for him and he’s learned to accept that.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? Okay, so I wouldn’t say it’s considered ‘iconic’ but my sisters and I loved it so I’m going with it.

Bride Wars (THIS MOVIE SHOULD HAVE ENDED WITH THE TWO BRIDES GETTING MARRIED AND I WILL DIE ON THAT HILL!!!

Alex is Olivia (Kate Hudson’s character, she’s a lawyer so it’s perfect!)

Henry is Emma (Anne Hathaway’s character, she’s a teacher and I think that’s kinda perfect)

Pez is the famous wedding planner that is TOTALLY playing matchmaker (high key has sneaky vibes in the movie and they should have just made that a thing in the first place)

Hunter is Alex’s coworker that gets roped into being Man of Honor (he would totally fuck up the reconciliation moment at the end 😒)

Plot wise it would follow the movie pretty closely, except for the way it ends. When Alex tackles Henry, naturally it needs to be into a cake (not how it happens in that scene in the movie, but I must!) then they’ll both end up dumping their fiancées and getting married.

The manga industry, especially JUMP, needs to hurry up and do away with weekly scheduling for mangaka. There needs to better regulations put into place for their health and safety because this is pitiful. Two weeks - monthly updates should’ve already been the standard for the manga industry at this point. These money grabbers will only continue to put the lives of these artists at stake for the sake of capitalism unless some serious changes are implemented.

nanami kento, who hates dating, and didn’t do much of it in his early twenties. but now, he’s almost thirty, watching all the people he works with settle down, have kids, and he thinks he wants that. so he might as well try.

so satoru sets him up on a few dates — friends of friends, he calls them. and at the end of every one of the dinners, kento goes home empty, exhausted, because he knows what they want is not the same.

still; he thinks maybe he’s being a little self-destructive, maybe too picky, maybe he just got so used to being alone. with satoru’s insistence, he gives all the women another call, invites them over to his apartment.

the first time was a disaster… kento had barely set the dinner on the table before his cat had hissed at her, scratched her down the arm in a thin gash. and though it did draw blood, it was hardly enough to warrant that reaction.

he didn’t even try to stop her as she picked up her bag and left, huffing like she’d been morally offend. kento, though, could only smile to himself in amusement.

because maybe kento was a poor judge of character, a man who was secretly hoping nothing would pan out — but his cat could certainly tell the good from the bad.

it became a little game to him, after that. seeing if anyone could win his pet over, and if they could, perhaps they were the one. his darling animal was a fickle thing anyway. a bit too defensive, quick to bite anything threatening after years on the streets.

naturally, no one came back twice.

he was close to giving up, accepting his solitude because he was tired of empty conversations over dinner. but then, he ventured out over the weekend to a new coffee shop, during hours he normally didn’t spend out of his home, and met you.

though you only talked for a moment, kento felt like maybe he’d known you in a past life. a part of him thought maybe it was strange, the way he kept coming back to talk to you, catching you at the end of your shift to see if you wanted to grab a coffee sometime.

by the second date, kento started to think you could turn out to be his best friend.

by the third date, kento wondered if soulmates were real.

on the fourth date, almost two months later, an appropriate time to get to know someone when you were as reserved as kento, he invited you over for dinner. it was, perhaps, the final confirmation he needed to let himself be with you.

he let you through the door, smiling softly as you told him about the book you were reading, and hung his coat on the rack. a moment later, you stopped, distracted, hands covering your mouth in a gasp.

“kento! she’s the cutest cat i’ve ever seen, you didn’t even show me pictures!” you exclaim, and, a few feet away, crouched down. “look at her pretty eyes…”

“careful,” kento said, “she’s not very—“

but the cat approached your outstretched hand, sniffed once, before letting you scratch her under her chin, purring loud enough for kento to hear across the room.

“shes such a sweetheart, you told me she was mean!” you smiled, making a cooing noise as you threaded your fingers through her fur. “kento’s a liar, isn’t he… you’re so precious.”

a few moments later, she snapped her jaw at you in a biting motion, and you only laughed, withdrawing your hand. “alright, i get it, i won’t bother you anymore.”

though she still brushed against your legs, just as she did kento’s, and seemed to communicate some sort of message to him.

“do you want any help cooking?” you ask, tucking your hair behind your ears. “i’m a disaster in the kitchen, but—“

“sure,” kento said, his chest tightening as he blinked back at you, only in his apartment for minutes and already looking as at home there. he wondered if it was possible to fall in love so quickly. “but only if you want to.”
