Part 25. Best Friend Erasure (Oni-Chan 2.0, part B)
< First | < Previous | Next >
Description below the cut
Catwalker approaches Ladybug as she stands on a roof.  She points off in a far away direction.
Catwalker: Ladybug!  Oni-Chan is back, and this time her powers are—
Ladybug: I need you to go to one of the rooftops way over there and stay right there.
Catwalker: Are you sure?  I could do more here if I—
Ladybug: Just.  Go.
Catwalker: ...Yes, Ladybug.
Ladybug swings towards a rooftop where the other heroes have congregated near a Find Adrien billboard.  Viperion looks up at Ladybug.
Viperion: Ladybug!  Why isn't Catwalker with you?  Did you talk to him about... that thing I told you?
Ladybug: We talked.  He wasn't hiding what you thought he was.
Viperion: Oh.
Ladybug stands in a ‘take charge’ pose right in front of the billboard with Adrien’s face.  Most of the heroes gather in to look towards her, but Carapace looks off towards the direction Catwalker took instead.
Ladybug: And everybody, gather around! You should all know this.  Catwalker is on probation until further notice.
Viperion: Probation?  Isn't that kind of extreme?
Ladybug: I have my reasons.  He's keeping his miraculous, but you're the people I'm going to rely on to beat the akumas.  For now, consider him an observer and just ignore him.
Carapace starts using his shield as a phone to text his girlfriend.
Carapace (texting): Rena, why is Catwalker allowed to keep his miraculous?  We *have* to stop him from causing more damage.
Rena Furtive (texting): I'm watching him, don't worry.
Cut to Rena hiding on a rooftop as she uses her flute simultaneously as a telescope to spy on Catwalker and a phone to tap out a reply to her boyfriend.
Rena Furtive (texting): But if you want to try to get more info out of him as Carapace...?  I'm sure Ladybug wouldn't mind...
Carapace leaps towards Catwalker, who looks at him suspiciously.
Catwalker: Carapace?  What are you doing here?
Carapace: Ladybug said you were alone, and I thought you shouldn't be.
Catwalker: You should go back.  Ladybug needs every hero she can get.
Catwalker perches himself on the ledge of the building he’s atop of.
Carapace: Then why did Ladybug send you all the way out here?
Catwalker: She needs me.  I just... need to wait here.  Until she comes up with a plan for how she can use me.
Carapace: If you want to help, we can always work to protect Adrien Agreste.
Carapace opens his arms wide and tries to give a disarming smile, but he can’t help but show his underlying malice.
Carapace: If you know anything at all, I'm all ears!  Even if it's something you need to keep on the down low, I can be your confidant.  I'm a hero, after all!  You can trust me to keep secrets.
Catwalker, completely uninterested in going through another round of ‘my best friend pretends to like me when I know he’s secretly mad at me’ points his finger in accusation.
Catwalker: I see what you're trying to do and I'm not going to fall for it.
Carapace: Whaaat?  I'm not trying anything!
Catwalker: Nino.
Carapace: How did—I mean, who's Nino?
Catwalker: You forgot to tell Adrien that he shouldn't reveal secret identities to anyone.
Carapace, completely off put, tries to make this new bit of information add up.
Carapace: He told you about me?  Why would that even come up?  Unless...  Did he tell you he had a superhero for a best friend to try and convince you he didn't need you?
Carapace points an accusatory finger at Catwalker. Catwalker tries to placate, but he’s distracted by a burst of red light in the distance in the direction of the other heroes.
Carapace: And then you forced him to leave when he didn't want to and—
Catwalker: You have it all wr—Oh no.
Oni-Chan rapidly teleports between temporary heroes (all of whom had just been staring towards the giant face of Adrien) and hits them with her sword in quick succession: Vesperia, Viperion, King Monkey, Purple Tigress, Polymouse, Pegasus, and Pigella are all frozen before they can do anything to fight back.
Oni-Chan: You!  Won't!  Get!  In!  My!  Way!  Anymore!
Oni-Chan lunges for Ladybug, but she manages to swing out of the way with her yo-yo and escape, unable to be tracked because she was the only member of the group who hadn’t been staring at Adrien’s face.
Catwalker: Come on!  Ladybug needs our hel—
Catwalker leaps into the sky to follow Ladybug, but as he is in midair, a green sphere forms around him.
Carapace: Shell-ter!
After the sphere hits the ground, Catwalker looks up at Carapace, who stands at the edge on top of the nearest building tauntingly.
Catwalker: I don't want to fight you.
Carapace: Good!  Because you won't be able to fight anyone!
Catwalker: Look, we're both heroes right now.  We need to be able to work together to help Ladybug.
Inside the sphere, Catwalker kneels and looks down dejectedly.
Carapace: Ladybug doesn't want your help!
Catwalker: Maybe not right now, but—
Carapace: Why did you think she sent you so far out of her way?  She can't even stand to look at you!  No one needs you.  No one wants you.  You should just give up your miraculous and save us the troub—
Carapace’s attention is caught by something happening across the skyline of Paris: with the Agreste mansion at the epicenter, a flurry of black ribbons launches into the sky, each one racing toward a Find Adrien billboard.  Where each ribbon touches, the place where Adrien’s picture should be has been replaced by an empty white void.
Carapace (to himself): What the...?  ...the Adrien billboards...  All the pictures of Adrien...  He's gone.
Carapace points down at Catwalker accusingly and brings his shield in close.
Carapace: Why couldn't you have just done nothing and let his real friends help him?  Some magic ribbons just wiped Adrien from existence!
Catwalker: That's impossible.  A sentimonster probably just got rid of the Adrien ads.
Carapace: You don't get it!  He exists nowhere!  And I'll prove it!
Carapace uses his shield to navigate to the pictures on his phone.  His hand touches at the shield when it displays a picture of Nino and Adrien smiling together, nothing erased.
Carapace: I'll show you how this picture of the two of us is—
Catwalker: Wait.  Carapace, you need to drop it.  Now.
Carapace (to himself): Huh...?
Catwalker: Adrien is alive, I promise—
Carapace (to himself): He's still here with me...?
Catwalker: —but she's going to find you if you keep looking—
Oni-Chan pops in and out of existence just long enough to stab Carapace in the back, sending his body off the edge of the building.  Below them, Catwalker looks up and destroys the sphere around him.
Oni-Chan: Begone!
Carapace: Ack!
Catwalker: No!  Cataclysm!
Catwalker leaps into the air, arms reaching towards Carapace’s petrified body, all while the shield Carapace dropped in the commotion falls next to them.
Catwalker: I've got you!
Catwalker tearfully embraces the frozen Carapace from behind.
Catwalker: I am so sorry.  For everything.
Catwalker continues to hug Carapace tight as a flood of emotions spews forth.
Catwalker: I never wanted to hide behind a mask, especially not with you, Nino.  You've always encouraged me to be myself.  Even though I've never been able to fully show you everything I am, you accepted the 'me' I could give.  It meant so much to know that you cared, not just about the idea of me, but the real me.  And now I'm less 'me' than I've ever been.  Maybe it would have been better if I did nothing. But when she tried to kill me, I just... ran.  Ran and insisted I was fine like I always do.  And now you're the one paying for my rash decisions and I feel so powerless to stop it.  I hope one day you'll forgive me.
Catwalker places Carapace’s body upright and touches his back in a gesture of farewell.
Catwalker: I wish I could talk to you for real.  But I can't.  I can't leave when I might be needed.  Even if everyone hates that I'm here, I've got to help however I can.
Catwalker gives Carapace a fist bump in one final promise of their friendship.
Catwalker: I'll come home as soon as it's safe again.  I don't know how long it'll take, but I promise I will come back.

(Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir x reader)
This was highly requested! Thank you all for the support. The fact that KKFIL got so much support shocks me! I appreciate all of you!

"You're pathetic." Plagg said ever so bluntly in-between his chews. He took another bite of cheese, crumbs falling onto Adrien's newly cleaned desk, "Just admit that you like them and move on."
Adrien grumbled in response, "I don't like them, Plagg."
Living with the kwami of destruction always presented a challenge. There wasn't a day that passed by without the mischievous cat trying to pull some dirty prank behind Adrien's back. At first, he didn't mind it. It added something new to his day, and it was usually harmless.
But apparently hiding his phone or ruffling his hair before a photoshoot wasn't enough for Plagg anymore, because as of late, he's been turning off Adrien's alarm so he doesn't wake up for school on time. So now he was stuck in this position, shoving everything in his backpack last minute while trying to rush out the door.
Right now wasn't exactly the best time for him and Plagg to be having a conversation about his upside-down love life.
"You don't like them?" Plagg pushed, "Sure, and cheese is my worst enemy."
"Look Plagg, it's too early for this conversation."
"So let's end it right here with you admitting that you like them."
"Get in my jacket or I'm throwing out the cheese you stored in my desk." Adrien opened up his jacket as Plagg let out a shrill gasp before immediately flying into his pocket.
"For the record, this is called manipulation."
"You're insufferable sometimes."

Monday.
Adrien walked into the classroom ten minutes late, and he'd never forgive Plagg for ruining his perfect on-time attendance.
He huffed and sat down next to Nino.
"Woah, dude, you look like shit. Totally unexpected from the model of the class."
Adrien smiled at Nino's bluntness, "I had a bit of a rough morning." He made sure to subtly flick his pocket as he said that. He felt Plagg pinch his side in retaliation.
"Yeah, I can tell." Nino shook his head, turning his attention back to the teacher. Adrien wanted to follow suit, but he couldn't help but notice you.
You sitting in your desk.
You looking wonderful as ever.
You…staring…right at him.
He smiled and waved.
You waved back.
And time stopped.
He wished he could sit next to you. Ask about your morning, hold your hand under the table, and pass notes throughout the class, giggling every time you nearly get caught.
But, alas, he wasn't sitting next to you, he wasn't holding your hand, and passing notes from this distance would be a guaranteed detention.
Life was cruel and unfair sometimes.
"Psst." He raised a brow at you, silently asking you what you needed. You smiled, looking a bit bashful as you put your fingers to your lips and blew him a kiss.
Maybe life wasn't so cruel and unfair.

Tuesday.
"Are you ok? You look tired."
Your voice was something Adrien would never get tired of, and it was just the remedy he needed after dealing with an akuma who had a…not so melodic voice.
The fight was harder than he had assumed it would be. A few scratches littered his arms and legs while stubborn strands refused to stick with the rest of his gelled and styled hair. Though most of the ringing had gone away, his hearing hadn't quite recovered yet. He questioned the miraculous ladybug and why it decided that fixing a civilian's ripped tie was important, but Adrien (the person who helped stop the villain) would have to suffer the rest of the day with hearing loss. It needed to get its priorities straight.
You looked him up and down, your nose scrunched at the sight, "Did you lose a fight to a pigeon or something?"
"Very funny." He reached to scratch the back of his neck, but quickly remembered how Plagg had made fun of him for doing that when he got nervous the night before, and quickly put his hand down. "I tripped. I can only imagine how happy my father will be when he sees me." Adrien laughed, "I have a photoshoot after school. He's going to kill me."
You smiled awkwardly, "And you're laughing about that?"
He paused, realizing how strange it must've seemed for him to be laughing at the idea of upsetting his father and maybe another day, he would've been more worried than joyful…but…
A part of him felt like sticking it to his dad. It was something he never would've considered doing before, but dressing up in a cat costume everyday can change a man.
"Well, good luck with your dad." You pressed a kiss to his cheek and turned to leave. He could still feel it on his cheek, his face growing increasingly warmer.
"You like them~" Plagg whispered.
"It's completely platonic."

Wednesday.
A festival was in town.
Adrien didn't exactly get permission to go, so he had his good old friend, Chat Noir, help him get to where he needed to be. It was a risky game he was playing, but he couldn't miss seeing you.
You ran into his arms the second you saw him, hugging him for longer than necessary (not that he was mad about it).
You walked through multiple booths, picking up small snacks.
Soon a dance broke out, and Adrien couldn't resist asking you to dance.
He bowed deeply, grabbing your hand and pressing a kiss to it. "Would you like to dance?"
You looked bashful.
It suddenly didn't feel so platonic anymore.

Thursday.
You were trapped in a closet with him.
Chat noir had run in to detransform, not realizing that you had already occupied the space.
He tried to quickly turn back and leave, but the door handle broke in his hands, leaving the two of you in the closet alone.
"So…you like jazz?" Chat asked. He felt like banging his head against the wall. Talking to you was so easy as Adrien, but it was difficult as Chat Noir.
How could pretend like he knew nothing of you when all he did was think about you?
You gave him a very confused look, "Uh…is the akuma gone?"
"Yeah! And so is the doorknob!"
The joke didn't land as well as he wanted it to. You just nodded and shifted back and forth on your feet. He was terrible at this.
He knew the two of you couldn't stay in there forever, but the only way you could get out was if he cataclysmed the door….
But in order to do that, he'd have to detransform.
"Do you mind closing your eyes?"
"Uh…how come?"
"I need to detransform."
You stared at him for a few more minutes. He wondered what you thought of Chat Noir. He had never asked you about it before.
He could only hope that you liked him.
You finally closed your eyes, and Chat whispered the magic words that rid him of his magic.
Plagg shook his head disapprovingly at the blonde, though Adrien wasn't sure what the cat wanted. There was nothing else he could do, and he knew you would be trustworthy.
He fed Plagg quickly.
"I just wanted to say…"
Adrien froze, scared you would someone know it was him if he breathed too loudly.
"I'm very grateful for what you and Ladybug do for Paris…really. Thank you."
Adrien smiled, relaxing slightly. He wished to respond, but without the quantum magic to mask his voice, he knew speaking would only screw him over. Thankfully, you seemed to understand that, as you didn't say anything about his silence.
He waited for Plagg to finish eating before transforming back.
He cataclysmed the door and stepped to the side, "Victims in distress first!"
You smiled and stepped out, he followed quickly.
"Thanks again."
"There's nothing to thank me for, all I did was get you stuck in a closet."
You laughed, "I meant for stopping the akuma…and getting me out of the closet."
You smiled, and Chat could've sworn his heart stopped. He wanted to kiss you now more than ever.
Not on the cheek.
Not on the hand.
A real kiss.
Chat couldn't do such a thing, but he knew someone who could.

Friday.
It was raining.
Neither you nor Adrien brought an umbrella.
The smart option would be to seek shelter immediately, but instead you ran in the rain.
Adrien had offered to walk you home, and during the walk, rain poured down on you. It wasn't cold or uncomfortable, but freeing. Your clothes stuck to your sides and your poor shoes would struggle in the puddles, but you didn't care. You didn't care because Adrien had grabbed you by the hand, leading you down the street in a fit of giggles.
Each drop of rain let out its own ring, like the weather was singing its own love song for the both of you.
You twirled and spun, grabbing both of Adrien's hands. He seemed flustered, but he effortlessly followed your movements.
Perfectly in rhythm, you and Adrien were stuck in your own world.
"I love you."
You stopped, face heating up as you locked eyes with a now embarrassed Adrien.
"What?"
"I…I love you." He repeated. Despite his stutter, his voice was confident. He couldn't be more sure of his words.
You smiled, "I know, I heard you the first time."
You leaned forward and pressed your lips to his.
Finally, your first real kiss.

The Higashi base was alight with celebration; they had got what they wanted from the Port Mafia even if they had to take it by force. Reika the leader of the group sat in her spoils all of the jewels and money that she had conned out of the Mafia now hers to do what she wanted with. Akuma, her tall right hand man, walked into her office, holding a black envelope “What’s that?” She asked. “Letter from the Mafia.” He answered, she took it from him, opening the letter and reading over the words. It was a gentle threat hidden in an ultimatum, to bring back the things they had taken and be left alone or not and see what happened next. “We don’t need to worry about them, there’s no way that they can find us here.” She waved off the letter, throwing it onto the desk amongst the stolen goods that lined it. “You shouldn’t underestimate them.” Akuma warned her, voice soft as if someone might hear him. “We beat them once, we can do it again, they’re weak and they deserve to disappear, the same as my sister.” Reika sighed as she leant against the heel of her hand. If you looked closely enough you could see the shock in his eyes but he didn’t dare voice it, a childhood of friendship with the three sisters taught him better than that. One thing was for sure though their oldest sister, Aku was not weak, her ability with spiders made her formidable and the Mafia were the ones that beat her but even that was a fight of epic proportions but she wasn’t talking about her, Reika was talking about her middle sister Satsui who had died at her hand when she took on the Higashi. “We should expect a real fight from the two that we faced the other day, the girl is the shield and the boy is the wildcard. We need to be careful with them.” Reika ordered, Akuma nodded in response and then left to prepare those strong enough to fight.
For the next 2 weeks nothing seemed to come of the message from the Mafia, the group continued as normal and thrived in the small town that they had set up in. The day exactly 2 weeks after the letter was sent was when trouble started, there were a couple of people on guard and the first thing they saw was the red glow before long it turned into a silhouette of a man and then standing before them was a short man with a hat on and a taller woman with a pair of sunglasses on. “I wanna talk to your leader.” The male said, all members of the other gang lifted their guns “come on don’t do anything stupid.” They didn’t seem to heed the warning. Instead, someone shot at the woman, the bullet definitely hit the target but she didn’t seem bothered by it. “That's not going to work.” the male smirked as he activated his ability, he kicked the closest subordinate to him, sending her flying into a group, activating his ability on contact using her body to crush her other subordinates. The female that came with him stabbed the male closest to her before pulling back and throwing the knife into someone else across the was, easily knocking out the male she stabbed she then moved to retrieve her knife elbowing the male in the nose, knocking him out before taking the knife from his shoulder dodging the wooden crate that her partner sent her way allowing it to hit the true target a male aiming a gun at her.
“Miss Reika, they are here.” A subordinate informed Reika who was still safe in her office. “Good, Akuma, go and check the trap.” She ordered.
The two mafia members walked into the main hall where the female member was able to see all of the badly hidden traps around the area and stopped “what?” The male asked. “There are so many traps, go and see the leader, I’ll deal with everything out here.” She said as her eyes cast around the room lingering on the underside of a table and the top of a door on the left. “Are you sure?” The male asked “Chuya I’ll be fine.” She promised. “You better be Fuyuko.” He said as he turned towards the door that led deeper into the compound.
Reika stood with her men waiting for the intruders to make their way in “if any one of you abandons this fight I’ll kill you myself.” She warned them all as they heard footsteps coming down the hall. The door imploded in revealing Chuya who was standing with his hands in his pockets, eyes falling on the leader standing behind all of her subordinates. “What are you doing hiding in here?” He asked, she smirked. “Hoping that you’d come alone so that we can have a proper fight without the dying distraction.” She answered, in reference to the subordinate that she had tried killing before, Chuya ignored the comment and turned to the men that stood in front of her. “This is not a fight that you started, you probably don’t even know what all of this is about, so if you run now I promise that you will live.” He said they all hesitated to move and Reika smirked “she doesn’t care about you, what are you sticking around for? Just go by the end of this you’ll be dead with her if you stay.” They all seemed to finally see the truth behind his words, each trying to be the first out of the room, Chuya could vaguely hear her yelling threats at them as they left. Chuya just smirked as he looked at her. “No surprise they left, you’ve never given them reason to stay have you?” “It doesn’t matter I don’t need them, they don’t deserve my respect if they’re going to run away like weak little children!” She argued “They are just like Satsui, weak and useless, the only reason that any of this happened was because Satsui couldn’t protect Aki from you Port Mafia scum!” Chuya thought that he recognised her, she looked familiar from the moment that he saw her but he couldn’t put his finger on it until now, he had killed the woman that she was talking about, her sister back when Dazai was still with them, he remembered that day, Fuyuko had been injured keeping him busy while Dazai disabled him. “Then again Aku deserved what she got if she couldn’t protect herself, I guess.” “What the hell is wrong with you? You say you love your sister and then tell me that she deserved to die. Tell me that once you beat me yourself will you?” Chuya glared at her as she smirked at him. “You should quit worrying about people that are already dead, that girl that you came with, think that she’ll be okay on her own?” As if to emphasise a point there was an explosion in the distance “you know Akuma was so angry at her, he wanted her to suffer knowing him he’ll have some of the men that went with him shoot her until she’s unable to stand and then there’s the bombs.” She smirked as she dropped the remains of the letter that they sent to his feet “do you think she can survive all that?” “You’ve seen her fight before, do you honestly think that will be enough to kill her?” Chuya asked. “Or were you not paying attention.”
Reika moved forward after that, realising that he taunting was not getting the reaction that she wanted, her fans fainting hom in her hands as she attacked Chuya. Chuya attempted to break them, noting quickly that they seemed to be made of some kind of metal, something strong, he wasn’t going to be able to break them with his hands alone, they seemed sharp too, he needed to be careful. He quickly stepped back but he felt the panel behind fall under his weight and the box across the way open revealing throw needles that launched from the box, Chuya was able to dodge them easily. Using his ability he jumped up attempting to stab down at her, she blocked it with the her fan, holding him off for a couple of seconds before he overpowered her, his knife burying itself in her shoulder, he pulled it out attempted to go for the neck nex but she managed to kick him away before he got too close, her fan followed the kick attempting to cut at his face, Chuya dodged backwards just managing to pull his head under the attack and away from danger. “So you're the one that killed her.” Reika glared at him as if realising something for the first time. “So that means that if I kill you then I will be stronger than both my sisters.” “Beating me here will prove nothing, if you couldn’t beat your sisters while they were alive then you will always be weaker than them, but I can assure you that you won’t be beating me here.” Chuya promised. Reika reached under her dress, something that Chuya had realised earlier had to have been hiding something. There was no way that you’d wear something like that to a fight, the beautifully made dress reached down to the floor, it clung to her body until it got to her hips, the skirt flowing out slightly. The object she pulled from under the dress was a gun, she shoot at him, he dodge out of the way catching her step on the button under her foot, he dodged backwards behind the box shielding himself, while activating his ability to turn them back on Reika, she used her fan to block the incoming needles. Chuya remembered seeing Fuyuko fight Kouji who used the same weapons, wood was enough to stop them then, the wood that made up this box was thick, it would be enough to act as a barrier while he used his ability to lift the nearby needles to send at Reika. It only took a little while for her to become overwhelmed the needles buried in her legs and shoulders, her blood soaked her dress as she staggered, Chuya took the opportunity to move forward and well aimed kicked to the chest staggered her further, quickly followed by a punch to the face which finally sent her to the floor the gun falling from her hands and clattering across the floor. One final kick should knock her out before it could land; he registered the sound of gunshots, his ability activating in time to send them back at the attacker, Akuma who ducked out of the way of the bullet heading for him.
“Where is she?” Chuya asked, referring to Fuyuko. “She died obviously, why else would he be here?” Reika pulled herself onto her knees “what will you do now… Without your shield, what hope do you have, your stature is greatly disadvantaged in this fight.” “Are you done talking?” Chuya asked. “You know she’s the one who gave him the scar right, if you’ve underestimated her then you will never beat her.” “What!? how can you still defend her!?” Reika asked as Akuma helped her stand, she shrugged him off as she turned to Chuya. “I will never stop defending her, dead or alive, but let’s not worry about that right now so let's put all of our attention right here, I’ll show you a real fight.” Chuya smirked, discarding his coat and rolling his shoulders as lowered himself slightly to stay more stable. Reika moved quickly activating the trap again, another set of needles flying from their place hidden in the wall, Chuya easily used his ability to block the needles, his coat flying up to slow or completely derail them. Reika ran at him again this time attempting to use his fan to attack him, changing the target of his ability he reflected the needles aiming them at Reika as they stabbed through her arms and sides Akuma pulled her behind him lifting his gun to aim it. By the time he was facing Chuya again he had moved forward landing a punch on his face, knuckles connecting with his bottom jaw, without giving him a second to react Chuya landed another punch to the chin before kicking him off balance as well. Reika moved from behind him when he stumbled she punched Chuya who turned to her kicking her, she dodged before cutting his leg with the fan, Chuya smirked as he grabbed her arm twisting it and causing her to drop the fan before kneeing her in the stomach and winding her. Chuya was about to land another blow when she activated the trap again, Chuya used his ability to fly, landing a safe distance from the attack but Akuma grabbed him throwing him to the floor, he groaned as he rolled over, Akuma lifting his gun and Reika aiming to throw her ramining fan at his neck his ability activated as the bullets and fan flew towards him, the pulse of gravity sent the attacking objects and the attackers flying. “You thought that you were going to win, when you fight like that, cheap tricks will get you nowhere.” Reika pressed the button in response to the mockery but nothing happened.
“That won’t work, the traps are disarmed.” A soft voice spoke from somewhere in the room, it was a voice that Chuya definitely recognised, Fuyuko. “Why aren’t you dead!?” Akuma yelled as he tried to find her in the dark corners of the room. “You really thought that you’d be able to kill her, I’ve seen bigger things try and fail.” Chuya shrugged as Fukuyo came to stand next to Chuya “are you okay?” “My arm might be broken, it’s definitely bleeding but otherwise fine.” Fukuyo answered. “Sorry I’m late.” “Late? You are right on time.” Chuya answered. “Anyone still-” “Don’t bother there’s no one left conscious to answer you, it you two and that’s it.” Fukuyo shrugged. Reika pointed her gun (which she must have picked up at some point) at Chuya, Fuyuko hardening her skin before running at Reika pulling out her knife at the last second to stab her in the shoulder, right under the wound that was there. Reika then kicked Fuyuko away causing her to slide back slightly but not lose balance, she saw Chuya move only to be intercepted by Akuma as he did.
Chuya was knocked backwards by Akuma who looked down at him “what are you still fighting for?” Chuya asked “She’s the only friend that I have left, you killed one of them and the other, the other she killed herself.” Akuma answered. “If you were really her friend you would have stopped her a long time ago, you should have seen that this path was only going to get her killed.” Chuya argued, both of their attention was drawn to Fuyuko throwing Reika against the wall, Akuma attempted to move towards them but Chuya kicked in the back of the knee causing he’s legs to buckle under him Chuya then kicked him in the chest causing him to fall to the floor using his ability to add weight to the kicks as he continued “you should know by now that the only reason that you stand with her is if you wish to die.” “Why is that different from leaving her?” Akuma asked, Chuya delivered one last kick, Chuya could see that Reika had managed to somehow drop a number of boxes on Fuyuko’s head from the shelves above them, Fuyuko had hardened her skin to stop most of the injuries. Chuya moved quickly flying towards Reika punching her, Akuma moving to follow his staggering giveing Fuyuko the chance to lift and throw a box in his direction. Fuyuko’s eyes caught on the floor where a gun lay discarded, she dove for it and grabbed it then ducking behind a box at Akuma pulled out one of his other guns. They both begin exchanging shots while Chuya kicked Reika using his ability to break the fans before twisting and delivering another kick knocking to the floor. “Why do you care about her so much?” Reika finally asked, looking at him. “She’s been with me since I joined the Mafia, she was the one that allowed me to have this life and despite everything we’re together, I care about her because she’s the only one in the world that understands me.” Chuya answered. “You should understand that, don’t you care for him?” Chuya jutted his head in the direction of Akuma. “Shut up!” Reika yelled as she attempted to punch Chuya, missing him completely as he wrestled her back to the floor easily, he kicked down which she dodged, she tried kicking him again, but he blocked it before finally bringing his foot down on her neck causing her eyes to tear up as she curled in on herself.
Fuyuko could still hear the shots ringing out around her only noticing a little too late that the heave iron on the box was about to fall through, she managed to activate her ability to stop herself from receiving any life threatening injuries but she was still dazed by the hit, catching the shadow on her left she hit out with the gun knocking the person back both of them lifting their guns at the same time pointing them at each other, a stalemate. “Shoot her!” Reika spluttered out as she continued to try and catch her breath, Chuya remained quiet ready to move at any moment, but he waited for a sign that Fuyuko needed him first. Fuyuko kicked at his leg, Akuma shot at the leg that made contact with him causing her to fall slightly, he tried to bring the gun down on her head but she lifted her hand and blocked it, he noticed the knife in her hand, she then attempted to stab him but he easily blocked and disarmed that attack too. “See I won’t ever let you or the port mafia when, I will find stronger people and take everything from all of you.” You explained. “You think you can beat all of them, you realise that the Mafia will continue to kill your men because they already have the strongest men.” Chuya answered, his mind recognising the smell of gunpowder, his eyes moved back to Fuyuko who was taking the lighter out of her pocket. “You should both run.” Fuyuko said softly as she dropped the cigarette to the floor fire lighting. They watched as she pressed a button and then there were explosions that sounded, they seemed far away “while disarming your traps I set traps of my own.” Akuma started to panic, Reika grabbed his arm and dragged him out while Chuya made quick work of getting to Fuyuko using his ability to get them both out of the building before the explosion could take hold. “Don’t you think that you went a little overboard?” Chuya asked. “You don’t think it looks pretty?” Fuyuko asked with a small giggle, he rolled his eyes but continued back to base.
“Do you know if they are dead?” Mori asked as he looked over everything that they had brought back from the base. “We didn’t.” Chuya answered honestly “but at the very least the only two left are them, it will take them a while to get everything they need to challenge us again, we will have to watch for them.” “Chuya, you should know that the girl is awake and recovering well.” Mori said “both of you go and rest.”
Chuya and Fuyuko leave and make their way to the infirmary, Chuya walking over to his driver while Fuyuko’s eyes caught on Alexist who was sleeping in the bed next to him, Fuyuko walked over to him tickling his face and causing the boy to smack at his face waking himself up, he looked around confused for a second. “What are you doing?” Chuya asked “stop bothering the people that are recovering.” He slapped her upside the head as she giggled. Alexist looked at Chuya for a second as something seemed to be going through his head before he bowed his head. “Nice to meet you sir.” He finally said “sorry I didn’t realise it was you, whenever anyone talked about you I pictured you taller.” Fuyuko laughed even harder at that and was quickly followed by the girl in the next bed over. “Alexist, I still have your sleeping bag in my office. I will return it to you tomorrow.” Fuyuko said. “Thankyou.” He said “do you have the time to help me tomorrow with my Japanese?” “Yeah I can help you tomorrow if the nurse doesn’t tell me off again.” Fuyuko mumbled as she glanced over at the nurse who was in the habit of throwing her out because she hardly took to resting well and encouraged others to deal with it the same way, no matter their injuries. “Huh?” Chuya grunted in question and Fuyuko smiled . “Japanese is not his first language, he needs help sometimes.” You explained and Chuya nodded as he turned to his driver. “And you, are you okay?” He asked. “I’m fine, I promise sir as soon as I am able I will follow you anywhere.” She promised.
They both left after that “are you okay after everything that happened?” Chuya asked. “Did you get your arm checked?” “It’s nothing just a deep cut, I’ll be fine, what about you?” Fuyuko asked. “You think they’ll come back?” Chuya asked. “She’s definitely not done with us.” Fuyuko answered. “Mm, she said that we killed her sister, do you remember the lady with the spiders, the first time that I used corruption?” Chuya asked. “Yeah I remember.” She nodded. “That day is hard to forget.” “The guy might be able to be persuaded if we ever meet again.” Chuya explained. “He’s loyalty is weak, especially after everything that happened today.” “He’s still dangerous, we’ll have to watch for both of them.” Fuyuko sighed. “Mm.” Chuya hummed. “Come on, we need to write the reports and then go and get some rest.” “Yeah I guess you're right about that.” Fuyuko nodded both of them making their way to Fuyuko’s office to write to reports before heading home.

“Go away, old man,” groaned a frighteningly hungover pirate captain, who was still face down on the floor of his quarters. Sheets with too many smells had already been stripped from his bed, but the night had held too much liquor for him to replace them on his own, so he’d slept on the rug.
“I’d love to,” Benn snorted, rolling Shanks onto his back. “Is my captain done drownin’ his sorrows?”
“Dunno what you mean.”
He cringed while he pushed himself up to lean against the wall, and couldn’t meet his first mate’s eyes.
“You’re too kind hearted for this, captain,” the older man sighed. “Why don’t you find a sweet, little barmaid to dote on like a respectable pirate, eh? What about–”
“I don’t want bunnies. I want…” Shanks growled, but his anger fizzled out at the thought of predators and prey.
“Nah. The Great, Red Haired Shanks just wants ungrateful brats that leave him crying on the floor a few times a year.”
The Great, Red Haired Shanks pulled himself to his feet, only to stumble over to an uncorked bottle in the corner, taking a grateful swig when he found it full.
“Just had too much fun is all,” he laughed, the bitter taste drowning out the sweetness of the wine.
“Well, next time that creepy asshole gives my captain too much fun, I’m gonna make sure it’s him that’s crying, ya hear me?”
“Sure, old man,” Shanks snorted, letting his first mate guide him to the shower, still downing that wine to fight off images of wicked, beautiful eyes. He wondered how long it would take this time for the cruel hint of gold to leave his mind.
The Great, Red Haired Shanks didn’t need bunnies or hawks. He just needed the sea, his crew, and another fucking bottle.

“It’s been some time since our last session. How have you been feeling, Y/N?”
Dr. Vorsan’s pale eyes always felt sticky. Puddles of too much glue, waiting to capture anything you let slip from your shaky fingers, your trembling lips.
Breathe.
“I’m feeling well, Doctor,” you lied, keeping your voice soft. “I’m sure you've heard about my recent behavior… I believe the experience has offered me some much needed clarity.”
Everything about this man was pale and watery, and you reminded yourself not to frown at his beige suit. It would have seemed like the doctor wanted to fade into the background, if every boring detail about him hadn’t been so exquisitely tailored.
“That’s good to hear,” he praised, though the emptiness in his voice had you fighting to stay present. “Why don’t you tell me about it. You’re going through a lot of transitions, Y/N. Major life changes, even positive ones, can cause a lot of strain. Have you been feeling strained, Y/N?”
“Mmssorry,” you slurred, fighting your lips that had already frozen, not even five minutes in.
“You stated that your time with the Cross Guild brought you clarity,” Dr. Vorsan noted. Those sticky eyes seemed to warm while your body left your control, until you couldn’t meet them anymore, couldn’t look higher than his elbows. “By putting yourself in such a dangerous–”
“I wasn’t–”
You were heavy and loose now, your whispered denial draining the last of your energy.
“You’re in a safe place, Y/N,” he promised while he pulled a shiny, gold pen from his jacket, propping up a notepad on his knee. “Do you know where you are?”
He asked again, voice so soft, until you nodded in agreement.
“Good, Y/N. Just take some deep breaths, and we can stop whenever you need to. We’ll help you get clarity, so you can stay well. Do you want to stay well, Y/N?”
“Y-yes, Doctor.”
“Wonderful,” he purred, scratching a note onto the top of his page, the movement of his manicured hands holding your gaze. “Why don’t you tell me about the clown?”

“With Sylvad’s cowardly level of security, I believe this would be too risky to use, but you should take it, in case the opportunity arises.”
“It’s so small,” Shanks hummed, inspecting Mihawk’s earpiece transponder snail, its tiny eyes blinking up at him slowly. “Maybe if I–”
“Save it,” Crocodile ordered, pushing away his untouched meal before closing the ornate shell container in Shanks’ palm, shutting those little eyes away. “Right now, the safest way to save our girl is for you to marry her. Don’t put that at risk by acting suspicious.”
Shanks stared at the closed shell before tucking it away, looking up to find his old friend winking at him.
“Don’t fret, love. We can have a belated bachelor party when you return,” Mihawk teased, combing his fingers through that bright, red hair.
“But Buggy—”
“I’m not thrilled about it either,” Crocodile sighed, standing to usher the other man out of the suite, “but it’s our best chance. That’s your mission. We’ll be listening, we have the location, and we can reach out to your crew if we need to share something vital. Can you do this?”
The two men stared each other down again, the swordsman’s hand dropping away to give them space.
“I’ll bring her back,” Shanks swore again, offering Crocodile his hand. The larger man shook it, but the press of time killed their peaceful moment.
The Emperor made his way into Adam’s room, waiting for Buggy’s permission to speak, but his clown looked pained, and Shanks couldn’t wait.
“What’s wrong, Bugs?”
Buggy’s hands were cramping from recording the pros and cons of the men that might marry his star. His throat was tired from swallowing nasty fears and guilt at the thought of Y/N actually finding someone she wanted to be with.
“You’re leaving,” he whispered, letting out a sigh when Shanks nodded. Strong fingers were so gentle as they brushed hair behind his ear, pens not doing enough to hold up all of that blue.
“I’m gonna fix this, Bugs.”
“She doesn’t believe…”
Though jealousy had turned him into someone he didn’t recognize, now when he saw that look of love in Buggy’s eyes for Y/N, Shanks wanted to burn all the oceans to bring them back together.
“She loves me, but she thinks it’s over, Shanks. My star’s really looking for someone else.”
“That’s not gon–”
“Make sure it’s you, alright, shithead?”
Buggy pressed his last piece of hope into Shanks’ palm, before letting himself hold and be held by this beautiful man that had been so many things to him over the years. He sank to the floor, allowing soothing kisses to be left along his unraveling hair while slow, exhausted tears escaped him.
Shanks opened his mouth to comfort, to promise, to share, but Buggy reached for the notepad again, mumbling about her “favorites.” After a rushed, bittersweet kiss, the red headed pirate was on his way, met by his golden eyed lover in the hall.
“Making sure I don’t run off with all your booze,” he tried to smile, feeling the weight of distance already crashing over him.
“Something like that,” Mihawk teased. “I thought I’d send you off.”

“How was your session with Dr. Vorsan,” Uncle Cedrick taunted, filling the dining room with ice.
“It went well.”
You’d managed to bring yourself back, to find your body and voice again before dinner, knowing that he’d be waiting to poke at you.
“Excellent,” he purred, killing your appetite again. “He’ll be staying until the wedding, just in case you need the extra support.”
“Thank you, Uncle,” you hummed, forcing down a bite.
“So polite,” he laughed, touching your moms chin to lift her face up. “See, Delaine. A little time with the doc, and your daughter’s already feeling better. Maybe she’ll even stop asking her mama bird to chew up her food soon.”
“She can stop after the wedding,” you said coldly, not enjoying the cruel laugh he gave at her expense.
“Such a high maintenance bride,” he taunted, towering over you all when he stood from his seat, offering you his arm. “Come on, smarty. Let’s take a walk.”
Kat started to argue for you, but it was a pointless battle, so you left the other Sylvad ladies at the table, letting Uncle Cedrick guide you out to the lavish courtyard.
“I know you’ve been reviewing the details with Kat, instead of your mother, but I expect you to be prepared tomorrow. You know the rules of the game?”
“The suitors have a month to win me,” you recited while he led you through the tables, dragging you to the beautiful, carved bench where the introductions would be held. “They’re not allowed to fight amongst themselves unless it’s for the game, and they have to leave grudges aside until after someone wins my heart. They’ll all have time with me as a group and in private, and they can woo me however they like, so long as it doesn’t endanger me, or take me off the island.”
The pride in his smile wasn’t for you, but he beamed it at you, nonetheless.
“Since you’ve been doing so well, I’m sure you can remember a few more rules. Think you can handle that, smarty?”
“Yes, Uncle,” you agreed, sending your rage down into the stone beneath you.
“You need to remember that choice is a fucking luxury, Y/N,” he threatened, brushing the hair back from your face while he leaned too close, his cologne filling your lungs. “After the fiasco you could have caused, and after all these years of abusing my patience, you’re lucky I’m letting you play this little game at all.”
His hateful words were drawn out with lazy pleasure, and he kept his fingers in your hair, stroking you like a pet. Like his pretty doll.
“You’re going to give all of your suitors a fair chance. They’re here to enjoy themselves, so I won’t have you chasing anyone off too soon. You’re going to whittle them down slowly, and carefully, and with my approval. Your final two suitors will be offered a deal, and if they don’t accept it, they won’t get my blessing.”
“So…”
“So, do whatever you need to do to convince the men you like the most to take that deal.”
Nodding so you wouldn’t spit, you seethed when he tugged at your chin the way he’d touched your mother’s earlier. Your eyes were forced to his, and the stars above seemed to burn like acid as your face tilted up toward them.
“I’ll do anything to protect this family,” Uncle Cedrick vowed as he rubbed his thumb across your snarling lips. “If there’s a man that can offer a better deal, then he’ll get my blessing, no matter your preference. So get ready to use this smart, little mouth of yours, niece. I wonder if you’re a good enough whore to convince anyone to stay? Though I have to confess, after all of your tantrums, I think my spoiled brat of a niece might deserve a man that can put her in her place.”
He laughed at your stifled hatred, wiggling your face before releasing you.
“Give them all a chance to win you,” Uncle ordered, satisfaction dripping from his parted lips.
He enjoyed watching you suffer. Enjoyed it in a way that made your skin crawl, but you could never fully hide your rage from him, no matter how skilled you became. He could fucking sniff it out.
“If I catch you sabotaging any suitor’s feelings for you before I’ve given the approval to drop them, then I’ll make sure you get some extra special time together. It’s only fair.”
All of the acceptance you’d been building up was crashing down around you, and you held in your tears, not wanting to see the pleasure on his face if he tore them from you.
You wanted to run away.
He found me. He could have had Karai Bari wiped off the fucking map, and Buggy…
“Well, niece, do you understand? Or do I need to—“
“I’ll fuck the one’s I like to make them take your deal,” you growled, almost losing your vision from the rage that was coursing through you. “And I’ll fuck the one’s I hate so you won’t know which piece of shit to trap me with.”
Cedrick Sylvad threw his head back, bellowing his cruel laughter up to the twinkling sky.
“Oh, this is going to be fun,” he wheezed, before leaving you there with a dismissive wave of his hand. “Don’t stay up too late, niece.”
He didn’t leave you with a guard. There was no need.
I’ll never get away. These are my choices. Pros and cons.
The silent courtyard felt like a cemetery while you struggled to move, to head off to bed, and end this shitty night. Your fingers found their way to your locket, the touch of warm metal helping to calm your breathing while you stared at all the cold, shining stars above you.
“At least I have all those pretty daydreams,” you whispered, feeling like an empty doll as you floated off to bed.

“Hawk Eyes.”
It had been a couple of years since Mihawk had stepped foot onto the Red Force, but his body had memorized every step toward the captain’s quarters, and they walked there without a thought.
Until a tall, scowling man blocked his path.
“Good afternoon, Benn. How—“
“How about you get the fuck—“
“Hey now,” Shanks laughed, stepping between his first mate and the swordsman, who’d raised a brow at the threatening tone. “We’re good, Benn! He’s just seeing us off.”
“Well, I’ll see him off a fucking cliff if he makes you—”
Shanks cut him off, pulling Mihawk into his quarters while Benn narrowed his eyes, his arms flexing as he crossed them over his chest.
“If I make him…” Mihawk asked, focusing on the hint of pink that was blossoming on Shanks’ cheeks.
Cute.
“Benn, get the crew ready. We’re heading out soon.”
“Aye, captain,” he agreed, still leaning toward the swordsman through the doorway. Benn jerked his head to the side as unruly strands of long, gray hair escaped his tie, getting in the way of his glare. “If you ever make my captain cry again, I’m gonna turn those pretty, gold eyeballs into pretty, gold earrings, ya hear me?”
“Thanks, Benn,” Shanks shoved the man out, locking himself into his quarters with his wicked, old friend whose mouth was hanging wide open. He might have laughed at the sight if he hadn’t wanted to crawl under the floorboards.
Fuck you, Benn…
“Cry?”
Shanks had watched those lips move. He’d heard that voice speak.
Yet his mind couldn’t connect that trembling word to the deadly rival before him.
The sweetness that had echoed through Mihawk’s bones with every step beside his lover had curdled again, guilt and shame scraping up his throat, strangling the words he’d hoped to share.
I don’t deserve it.
“You’re shaking,” the red haired pirate breathed as he reached for one of those dangerous hands. Everything was unsteady. Nothing in this world fit anymore, but Shanks tried to laugh it off. “Is Dracule Mihawk feeling jealous? I never had you pegged for the marriage type.”
“No,” he choked a laugh, brittle and stinging as he sat on the bed. The same, old bed they’d shared countless times. “I’m so sorry, Shanks.”
Those words again.
This “vacation” of his had felt like the most outrageous, delicious dream held hostage by a nightmare, and Shanks felt a sudden terror that he was about to wake up to find it was all gone.
In case it was about to disappear, Shanks sat beside his vicious, old friend, and pressed a kiss to the man’s temple. Mihawk wrapped his arms around him, clinging, feeding into the unreality of this soft, lovely dream.
“Are you alright, Hawk,” Shanks breathed.
Instincts would have sent the swordsman out the door by now. Every thought pushed him out, guilt, and fear, and lies, no longer strong enough to outweigh the need to keep holding Shanks against him, to keep inhaling his comforting scent.
The need to run was fueled by his new piles of shame. An unconscious demand to leave. Leave. Leave.
“I’m done…”
“What’s that,” Shanks tensed at the whisper. He fought his rising dread, tracing his fingers through that pretty, black hair. As they always had, Mihawk’s hypnotic eyes made his world pause, yet in this moment they seemed like true magic. The swordsman had once been blank, unknowable, giving no depth, though Shanks had reached and delved as far as his old rival would let him.
Now those golden eyes were hypnotizing not for their blankness, but for the swirling depths that pulled him in. Pools of molten metal, pain, and need, and other things Shanks couldn’t think clearly enough to try to understand.
Mihawk couldn’t understand how this beautiful, glorious man could still stand to look at him, let alone offer him comfort. He almost talked himself out of the room again, but vowed that he was done being a coward. He would fight. He would never run.
Never again.
“I know I…” Mihawk started, losing his train of thought while he stared at his old friend that could have been something so much more.
What’s the point of being safe if I can’t even…
“Hawk?”
 “I love you. I know it’s too late. I’m sorry, I–mmn!”
All that dread exploded, leaving Shanks absolutely fucking high. None of this could be real, but what a dream.
“Took you long enough, old friend,” he purred. Mihawk whimpered beneath him, shaking under his touch after Shanks had pushed him onto his back, kissing him as though he’d disappear if he stopped.
“I’m s-sorry, Sha–”
“Are you lying? Manipulating me?”
He gripped Mihawk’s face, wanting to throw this fear off the ship. Gods, he wanted to believe it, to feel it.
Mihawk let out a breath, a weak sob, as the gold of his eyes was dressed with diamonds. The monster was even more hypnotizing when he cried.
“I’m not lying,” he confessed. Memories flooded the swordsman now, filling the air around him with regret, and with the hope he was fighting to keep. He reached up, cupping Shanks’ face while he blinked away his salty fear. “You loved a coward, old friend, but I’m done running. I love you. I’m so sor–”
Shanks couldn’t tell if he was laughing, or crying as he fell onto the wicked, intoxicating man beneath him.
“I love you too, Hawk. I still love you. Could never stop.”
“Shanks…”
“Say it again,” Shanks breathed while he kissed along Mihawk’s throat, dizzy while one of his dearest fantasies played out before him.
“I love you, Shanks.” Mihawk shivered, clinging, reaching, falling to pieces. Shameful parts of him still screamed to run, still thought so many cruel, ungrateful things, but there was nothing like the satisfied sounds his lover made when he said those words. “I have loved you in my cowardly heart. I’m sorry I– fuck!”
The red haired pirate fisted his hair with vicious force while he rutted his clothed cock against him, chuckling as he watched those hypnotizing eyes flutter with need.
“Why are you sorry?”
“I…”
Mihawk was already lost in him, and Shanks let that sweetness pour over his body, his breath relaxing as he decided how to take care of his lover.
“You’re sorry because you didn’t say you love me, right,” he purred, kissing tingles into Mihawk’s skin as he breathed along his temple to his jaw. The swordsman gave a weak nod, and a little whine, so Shanks nibbled at his ear, telling his boy how to please him.
“I don’t wanna hear another ‘sorry,' you hear me,” he threatened, tracing his thumb along Mihawk’s hip, dipping down into those low riding pants. “You’d better keep telling me what you should have back then.”
“Shanks,” Mihawk moaned, undoing the lacings of his own clothes before clawing at Shanks’, desperate beneath the sway of that crooked smile. “I love you.”
The Emperor of the Sea forgot.
Nothing to do. Nowhere to be.
Shanks just had to make this man say those words again and again. It had been so fucking long. They touched and kissed every inch of each other in their mad rush to claim every moment before the dream faded away, until the swordsman looked over his shoulder, begging so pretty. So perfect.
“I need you, daddy,” Mihawk relaxed, ready. “Need you, love you, want… mm, please…”
“I need you too, bright eyes,” Shanks hummed, fingers finding their way in, cool lube easing the stretch while he made his lover moan into the wrinkled sheets. “I need my pretty boy to let me love him. You finally gonna let me, Hawk?”
“Please,” he begged. The press of Shanks’ cock teasing at him was too much, and he writhed, shoving himself back until he cried out, earning the full force of that powerful body.
“Look at you. Knew you’d be so good for me, baby.”
His fingers caressed while he pressed that pale skin into the mattress, and Shanks let everything go, praising, taking, and hurting his lover until they both went fucking mad. Mihawk let himself feel safe in the pleasure and the pain.
Safe.
His lover made him cry, and bleed, and come, before laying his own claim. Shanks’ heavy cock filled him, on and on, leaving Mihawk twitching and whining. There they stayed, breathing, sweating, and whispering those words until they remembered.
“I’ve gotta go, Hawk... Will you still love me when I come back,” Shanks asked as reality returned, failing to hide all the true fear in his voice.
“My lover gone away to sea. I shall await thee,” Mihawk hummed, moaning when Shanks pulled away, his body still craving his touch.
“Are you writing love poems already?”
Mihawk could have stayed in that bed for days, but she was there in his mind. Still trembling from love and pleasure, fear followed him while he helped Shanks clean the evidence of their selfish lust, low chuckles still warming the air around them through it all.
“I’ll write poetry for you, my love,” he breathed, eyes fluttering at the new touches he’d earned. “But you’re right. You need to leave.”
Demands felt wrong, so the swordsman finished drying and dressing his lover, until the Emperor pulled him close, their foreheads pressed together while he tried not to succumb to his own selfish terror.
“I love you, Hawk Eyes,” Shanks let out one more time, while the memory of empty eyes burned through his soul. Y/N had helped both of his lovers, had helped him find them again, to hold them again, had helped them open up.
I owe her everything.
“I love you too, Red Hair,” Mihawk gave a true smile, shaky though it was. The voice calling for him to run was easily ignored with the gratitude and desperation rolling through him now. “Please–”
“Don’t worry, baby,” Shanks laughed, kissing those lips again before leading his deadly lover off the ship. “If I can win over Dracule Mihawk’s icy heart, then there’s no beast I can’t charm.”

“I’m fine.”
“Liar.”
Kat managed to pull a laugh from you while servants buzzed around, swarming like bees as you waited in the courtyard for your new life to begin.
Whenever a big tree fell on Sylvad property, it would be easy to cart it away, to sell it into little pieces, but this courtyard was built to show off one of your favorite family traditions.
The last few generations of Sylvad’s had refused to let a fallen tree be scurried away like something to be ashamed of. If a tree fell on a Sylvad estate, it was to be celebrated to honor the hard work and creativity that made your family’s name synonymous with power, wisdom, and enough wealth and status to rival nobility.
You sat on one of those dead trees, the trunk carved into a formidable, layered bench along the base of the manor, while the lantern lit courtyard stretched out toward the forest. On and on the bench seemed to go, covered with lifelike, and even life size animals trying to spring into your world from the fallen wood.
Childhood memories trampled over you for a moment, just like your little body had once tried to climb and claim this wonder of the forest. The obedient bees brought you back to the present, doing some last minute touch ups to your hair and makeup while they fluffed up your giant gown.
Asking why you were in a white dress before your wedding day had sent you into rigid silence once the rest of the ensemble was forced onto you.
Don’t bite the help. Don’t bite the help… Do deer bite people?
“I’ll be right over there all night, okay,” Kat’s voice pushed through the mass of bodies. “Make that face if you need me to step in.”
“There’ll be no need for that, ladies,” Uncle scolded, his presence scattering the hovering pests around you. He beamed at your sister while he patted her cheek, before sending her to sit with your sulking mother. Kat gave you a weak smile, leaving you on that extravagant bench while your uncle managed to sit beside you without mussing your dress.
The music may have been pretty. The lanterns lighting up beneath the golden, darkening sky might have been enchanting.
It was even possible that one of the men in that crowd of guests breaking through the treeline onto the stone pathway would make a lovely husband.
You tried to breathe, tapping nervously against the locket you’d stuffed into the corset of your dress since it hadn’t “fit the theme.”
What a feeling it was to finally know that love was real. Yet, such was your fate that you had to keep killing and burying the futile wish that you could have kept it for yourself.
All of these men are here to own me. Every single one.
“Don’t forget to smile, dear niece,” Uncle taunted, leaning close enough to warm your cheek with his words. He laughed at his little joke, while you tried to obey.
You were the white stag.
You were his helpless prey, whose sole purpose was to be hunted, mounted, and displayed. Nothing more than a tasty trophy.
The stupid, white antlers in your hair felt heavier with each moment while you watched your hunters stalk ever closer. The men had separated from their guests who were being seated so that everyone could watch your uncle’s little show, while the suitors formed a line.
“If you–”
“You already won, Uncle,” you cut him off, eyes scanning the edge of the forest while more figures appeared. “I’ll be well behaved venison from here on… what the f–”
“Smile.”
No fucking way.
Kat had followed your line of sight, and if your face matched the look on hers, you needed to shake it off now. The last thing you needed to do was offend one of these men that could squash you like a bug.
Sis was right. We should have asked for measurements.
Swallowing manic laughter at the thought, you split into pieces, becoming the hunted. The truest part of you watched the show from a deep, dark hole within while you smiled at Uncle Cedrick, although your body couldn’t hide the shivers that broke through.
“Smart girl,” he hummed, curdling your stomach before he pressed your hand into an old man’s wrinkly grip.
Your suitors had arrived.
“Giberson, lovely to see you. Let me introduce you to my niece. She’s—“
“The Cross Guild’s young CFO, if my sources aren’t mistaken? I can’t imagine there’s another Y/N Sylvad gallivanting about.” Giberson caught you off guard, and you were a deer in the headlights when his scratchy, white mustache tickled across your fingers.
His words had left you frozen, and he released your hand, seeming a little wobbly while he balanced with his jewel encrusted cane. The old man adjusted his pin striped hat, making his tall body seem even lankier in the matching suit.
“I shouldn’t be surprised,” Uncle Cedrick laughed, clapping the old man on the back. “You probably know more about the competition than I do. So, have you decided to join the game, or will you just be staying for the entertainment?”
This old man is one of the Emperors of the Underworld…
Giberson’s dossier had been the lightest you’d received, yet somehow that made him more frightening, along with his epithet; The Concealer.
“Hopefully I’ll have more luck at this wedding than I did at the last one I attended. Bodies just don’t recover the same when you get to be my age,” Giberson chuckled as he tapped his knee with his cane a few times. “Still, I may be old, but I can’t resist the offer to join in such a delightful game.”
“Happy hunting, good man. I’m confident that some time in Y/N’s company will put some pep back in your step,” Uncle encouraged, pulling an intricately carved arrow from a quiver at his back, adding to the vision of the dark hunter he exuded tonight. He handed it to you, giving you the illusion of choice.
You’d been told not to stand unless you absolutely had to, so you looked up at him through your lashes. Your painted doe eyes needed no help looking helpless, but you obeyed just the same. Giberson smelled of whiskey when he leaned down to accept the arrow from your grasp, a satisfied smile on those aged lips.
“Just watch out, little lady. These young boys aren’t done fighting yet,” he stepped back, nodding subtly over his shoulder. “It would be a shame to see such a precious thing get caught up in the crossfire. I’d rather like to avoid that fate myself this time around.”
“Not to worry, Giberson, we’re all here to enjoy a more civilized kind of battle. Although, the betting pools have already added a few extra categories for all the possibilities this month presents.”
The men ignored you now, but you had to keep your face mildly pleasant while you reminded yourself not to scratch it, so as not to risk fucking up the subtle deer makeup across your nose and cheeks.
Humiliating.
You were the only animal at the banquet. The only thing on the menu. Everyone else got to be human.
Well, maybe not everyone…

“Are these supposed to be this fucking tight? This can’t be right…”
Shanks tugged and pulled at the dove gray pants he’d been gifted by Sylvad’s attendants, his head snapping up at the choked sound coming from his first mate’s throat.
“What’s wrong?”
Benn had changed quickly, the banquet already getting started when the two of them had stepped foot onto the private island. The older man had lucked out, easily fitting into the borrowed suit that was such a dark blue it was almost black, although he’d rolled up the sleeves, and traded the jacket for his purple cloak. Having some breathing room around his muscular arms made him seem slightly less annoyed since their weapons had to remain on the Red Force.
Benn was too distracted to care about their weapons at the moment though, wheezing while he watched his mighty captain try to stuff all of his bits into those tiny pants.
“Did you try the other pairs?” Benn failed to hide his laughter, having to clear his throat and look away.
“They're all the same size– He can’t really expect me to wear this?”
His eyes were wide, unconsciously shaking his head while he gaped at his reflection.
The tight, gray breeches seemed designed specifically to showcase every curve of his cock and balls. The soft fabric was tucked into black, knee high boots that a certain swordsman would have coveted, but Shanks felt like he was going insane with the urge to light the borrowed clothes on fire.
“No. I’m not going out there like this,” Shanks resisted.
“You said you’d do anything for her, captain. Don’t you wanna get on the uncle’s good side?” Benn’s laughter vanished while he draped a black cloak over his Captain’s shoulders, fastening the high collar around his throat. His thick fingers trailed down over the frilly, white shirt, checking the small, black vest that was little more than a girdle, before tying off his captain's sleeve. “This bunny of yours worth the tight pants?”
“Emperor Shanks, sir,” came a soft voice beyond the door. “The banquet is underway, is there anything I can assist– Oh I– Oh…”
He forgot what he was about to ask this poor girl when he opened the door, because the look on her face gave him everything he needed.
“You doing alright, darlin,” Shanks purred, touching one of the girl’s bright, red cheeks.
Benn chuckled, pushing through the doorway, and onto the stone path, ordering his captain to hurry it up.
“Y-yes, I am, sir,” she trembled, letting out a giggle when Shanks winked, and the sweet sound brought him back.
“Good girl. Why don’t you show us where to go?”
~~~
“You always strut, but I can’t remember the last time I saw you strutting like this,” Benn smirked.
“I can’t help it! These boots have heels.”
Shanks stuck out his tongue before they passed beyond the denser trees.
“You have been invited to join the game, Emperor Shanks.” The servant bowed her head while she gestured toward the center of the decorated courtyard. “I’ll lead your guest to his table now, unless you’d rather not accept the offer?”
“Why not,” Shanks beamed at her, though the sight of his competition made him fight not to sway on those uncomfortable heels.
“Looks like you and your tiny pants might be outmatched, captain,” Benn whispered, patting him on the back before following the pretty girl to a table full of enemies.
Shanks had barely made it here in time, and felt a twinge of guilt return while the last suitors moved out of the way, but the sight of her stopped the blood in his veins.
Twilight had crept into dusk, and the dancing light of the lanterns bathed her painted skin, her white dress, and ethereal antlers, seeming to glow from within. Y/N shone like a wounded star, bleeding out her light for all of these monsters to drink.
“The clothes suit you well, Emperor,” Cedrick purred, making his niece flinch. She hid herself away before Shanks could decipher what he’d seen behind her mesmerizing eyes.
“I had no idea that fashionable friends could be so generous,” he charmed, stalking closer and closer until he caught her cold hand in his. “Or that I’d have the pleasure of meeting such a gorgeous, little bunny again so soon. Sorry, you're a gorgeous, little doe, aren’t you?”
She stared while he pressed his lips to her knuckles, and he took in every detail, wishing he could just grab her and run.
She’s not wearing Buggy’s locket…
Before new anxiety could set in, Shanks had to swallow his rage at the sound of that voice.
“Either would make for a good hunt. The nice Emperor asked you a question, Y/N,” Sylvad taunted, tapping her thigh with a decorative arrow.
“It’s alright, bunny.” He gave her a crooked smile while she gave him nothing, so he turned to the smirking piece of shit by her side. “From what I’ve gathered, we might get to spend some more time together soon. Do I have that right, new friend?”
“I treat my friends very well, but family is everything,” Cedrick vowed. “There'll be plenty of time to discuss details later, but if you’d like to accept the offer to join this little game, then you may get to enjoy more than just our famous Sylvad hospitality.”
Shanks bought himself some time by letting his eyes rake over her again.
I’m a villain. I’m not here to rescue her.
“How could I resist?”
“Go on,” her uncle beamed with triumph, shoving the arrow into her hand.
The woman that had captured the hearts of the only two people Shanks had ever truly loved met her Uncle’s cruel gaze before looking back up at the Emperor of the Sea. Her eyes fluttered while she offered him the arrow, keeping her hands close to her face so that he felt her breath on his fingers as pulled the symbolic weapon from her grip.
His lips parted as he became trapped in her eyes again, although that haunting pull had been replaced by a desire so hot, it rivaled the stars. Y/N's bare need felt like a gift from the heavens.
“Thank you,” he breathed, twirling the arrow in his fingers while he bowed his head at that fallen star, before winking at her captor.
“Happy hunting, Shanks.”
~~~🌲🌲🌲~~~
Giberson had finally stopped gossiping with Uncle Cedrick, so you became the prey again, smiling up at your next suitor.
Suitors.
You couldn’t help glancing toward Kat while her favorite pick stepped up alongside his brothers.
These men should have been intimidating, and they had been, for a moment.
Yet now, the three princes of the Germa Kingdom were all staring down at you like hungry puppies.
What the fuck?
“Welcome, Ichiji, Niji, Yonji. This is my niece, Y/N. It is an honor to welcome you to our humble estate.”
“The honor is ours,” one of the princes crooned, laying a kiss with almost too much pressure against your knuckles.
Ichiji. The red head is Ichiji.
Your mind rattled through everything you could recall while his green and blue haired brothers took their turns, their loose shirts and billowing capes moving prettily in the light breeze.
Somehow the word “prince” had made their blatant lust seem shocking, and you almost laughed at how fucking naive that was.
They were here to buy you, just like all the rest, and their royal hands lingered on your skin when they accepted their arrows.
~~~
“There you are, old friend!”
“Cedrick. It’s good to see you.”
“Mr. Iceburg?”
Excitement tore through you, and you almost leapt to your feet so you could hug your dad’s old friend.
Your uncle’s old friend…
Iceburg, the Mayor of Water 7, and the CEO of Galley-La.
You’d had an embarrassing crush on the man, even before he brought all of those shipbuilding companies under one name seven years ago, creating his own empire. Water 7 was your company’s most powerful, and profitable connection, so you’d spent a lot of your childhood on that watery island while your dad made deals with this handsome entrepreneur.
He’d always been kind, and funny, and had never ignored or patronized you like so many of the other business contacts dad had made you spend time with.
“Well, Y/N, don’t you look stunning,” Iceburg hummed, leaning down close to kiss your cheek. It was something he’d done many times, but your skin still flushed with heat as it always had. “I hardly recognized my little numbers girl.”
With your mouth hanging open, you felt like a child come face to face with her dream, only to find that the dream carried a bitter aftertaste.
But it still looked fucking good.
Your eyes traveled up and down his tall frame, snagging on the black, leather pants tucked into knee length boots. He had rarely buttoned his shirts all the way before, but now the loose fabric of his rust-colored tunic hung wide open, and you found yourself blinking up at the lovely frame it made around his tanned skin, and dark, blue chest hair.
“Don’t keep our dear friend waiting, Y/N,” Uncle Cedrick urged, tapping your hands with the arrow until you snapped out of your teenage fantasy.
“May I,” Iceburg asked, his eyebrow raising just a bit while he watched you nod.
He’s here to buy me. He wants to buy his friend’s daughter. Wants to…
His thumb traced over your wrist before he pulled away, the rough touch of a carpenter's hand making you shiver.
“See ya, girlie,” Iceburg winked, wrecking you for the next hopeful.
~~~
Luckily the next hopeful didn’t matter, although it felt like you’d just lost a safety net.
“I do apologize,” whined the most ‘boring’ candidate, Mr. Halvens. “I’m afraid I will have to decline. There are certain elements here that I cannot have my name associated with.”
“Not to worry,” Uncle laughed. “You’re welcome to stay for the banquet, although I'd recommend keeping your voice down if you plan to disparage my other guests again.”
The poor man went pale, and you were disgusted with your urge to laugh at his pathetic scrambling when your uncle’s laughter rolled over you first.
~~~
“Prince Fukaboshi,” you projected, staring up at the massive merman. There was a ring of what looked like a bubble around his waist, and his blue, spotted tail seemed to float just slightly above the ground.
You had prepared yourself for a merman.
Not for a fucking giant.
“I am looking forward to winning your heart, Miss Sylvad,” he charmed, although the effect was strange from almost two stories up. Fukaboshi's regal voice rushed toward you when he leaned down, and you tried to smile under that sharp face, that cloud of light, blue hair.
The arrow seemed to shrink once his fingers pulled it so carefully from yours, before he joined his guests at the edge of the courtyard. You could still feel the prince's gaze, like a cool weight over your skin.
~~~
How the fuck…
The fact that the next suitors weren’t even the tallest people you’d met tonight was insane, and you had to fight not to let panicked laughter escape while you were introduced to these two brothers.
“Thank you so much for coming. This is my niece, Y/N. I know she’s been looking forward to meeting you both, Cracker, and Katakuri.” Uncle Cedrick smiled at the frightening brothers, seeming almost giddy when he handed you their arrows.
Cracker leaned down first, and he had to be a couple of feet taller than… He also carried a fierce scar on his face, scraping across his right eye. When he grinned, his bright, pink irises seemed to eat you up, a near manic look behind them.
You couldn’t make sense of his clothes, so you tried not to look at the giant fucking crackers hanging around his belt, or at his light, purple hair that was tied into long buns that seemed to be crackling with fire.
Katakuri was even taller, almost as tall as the merman prince, but he went to a knee to get closer to you. His clothes were all leather with scratches and spikes artfully placed to look even more ready for violence. Pink tattoos kissed along his bare chest and arms, and the color went well with his crimson hair and eyes, but you couldn’t see more of his face below the fur scarf he had wrapped up to the bridge of his nose.
His eyes were intense, knowing, and the sheer size of him amplified his frightening, but lovely, features.
“Pleasure to meet you, Y/N. I hope that our families can join their strengths soon.”
The Charlotte brothers left you breathless while the courtyard buzzed with the sounds of guests enjoying their drinks as they waited for dinner to start, celebrating the thought of you being claimed by one of these lucky suitors.
~~~
Twilight had crept into dusk, and you let yourself take a breath, knowing that the line must be coming to an end. Everyone in your mom’s book was already here, plus Iceburg, and there couldn’t be too many last minute…
Shanks?
The Emperor of the Sea stood framed by the growing night, dressed like a wicked horseman on the hunt. He stared at you as though he were surprised to find you there.
As though this fucking traitor hadn’t broken his promise as soon as Uncle Cedrick had shown up. The image of Shanks leaning close, smiling, and flirting with your uncle at the Cross Guild’s party felt like molten metal through your gut. Then he’d run away. You’d seen him, that stupid, red hair slipping through the crowd, fleeing the vow he’d made to you.
Liar. Liar. LIAR!
Somehow you stayed very deep inside yourself after Uncle’s voice made you flinch, even while this filthy leech touched your hand. You couldn’t hear what he was saying while he talked to his new best friend.
You’re just another bitch for my uncle’s money, aren’t you? Disgusting trash.
You almost laughed. Almost let it out.
Uncle Cedrick tapped your thigh with the arrow, and the visceral image of shoving it into one of Shanks' poisonous, “soft,” brown eyes felt intoxicating.
Pathetic. You’re just like all the rest. The Great Red Haired Shanks is no hero. Just another piece of shit that would betray his love for some berry.
Rage and nausea battled for more space within you, until your uncle shoved the arrow into your hand, and you remembered.
I can't let Uncle see how much I hate him.
A wave of desire and power burned through you, and you let yourself feel nothing but need while you offered Shanks that weapon instead of using it against him. It felt as though you were possessed, but you welcomed the chaos of mindless lust, relishing in it when those soft eyes went dark before he finally got the fuck away from you.
Did he just fucking thank me?
Uncle started to address the crowd, and you knew you should be listening. You tried to be here, to survive.
Traitor. Liar. Leech. Trash.
Breathing felt impossible. Your corset seemed tighter now, making the hidden locket dig into your skin, reminding you that Buggy was all alone.
There had never been a chance for you to have true love in your life. Not the cursed heiress of Sylvad’s. Not with your Uncle’s plans.
Your sweet, lovely clown deserved better.
But Shanks betrayed you both. He'd abandoned Buggy after one conversation with Cedrick Sylvad, just as weak and worthless as your first two "loves."
Uncle offered you his hand, and you stood without knowing what was next, but all that came next was applause. Happy, little vultures excited for their next meal.
“Did you hear me,” he hissed at you before shrugging for the crowd. “I think our white stag is feeling a bit skittish, but that's nothing a little chase can't fix. The first hunter to catch her claims the first date!”
Chase?
“Run along now, niece,” Uncle Cedrick smirked, nodding toward the trees. Night had officially fallen as he led you down that stone path, the eyes of all the hunters following your every step toward the darkened forest. “You’ve got a ten minute head start, Y/N. Better decide which arrow you'd rather be pieced with tonight.”
Blood Tainted Chapter 1
When Gabriel stumbles upon a hidden section about the Butterfly Miraculous within the Miraculous Grimoire, he learns of a way to infuse his Akuma with the powers what he believes to be myths and legends. Little does he know that those myths and legends are true, and with such power comes with sacrifice. Those imbued with the power of these magically enhanced Akumas, also suffer from the weaknesses the creatures possess.
With a blatant disregard of the risks that such a power holds, he performs the ritual by sacrificing some of his own blood to feed the Akuma.
His next villain will possess the power of the Vampire, hunger and all.
Little did Gabriel know that not all magic can be fixed with a Miraculous Cure... and that eventually his actions will have serious and permanent consequences. ===================
Ignores the events of S3 finale and beyond except that Master Fu does pass the box onto Ladybug.
AO3 Link || Chapter 1 (HERE) || Chapter 2 (Unwritten) || Chapter 3 (Unwritten)
Despite Halloween not being a major holiday in France, Ladybug noticed a certain trend among the recent villains she and Chat Noir faced off against since the start of October. Inspiration taken from those classic fantasy monsters and things of legend. A werewolf last week, a demon a few days later, and a dragon just a few days ago. A significant deviation from the normal super powered humans that most of Akuma victims fall under. Unfortunately, Ladybug couldn’t tell if this was a blessing or a curse in disguise as she dodged another attack from an innocent civilian. She wasn’t quite sure what prompted today’s Akuma victim to fall prey to Hawk Moth’s corrupted butterflies… what she did know is that mass mind control was one of the Akuma’s powers. “Why did it have to be mind control.” Ladybug grumbled as she jumped out of the way of another civilian.
“Purr-hapse it’s because no one wanted to listen to them?” Chat Noir offered, using his baton to sweep the civilians away from them. He hated fighting against villains who could use mind control, knowing that most times he would fall prey to their powers. He had absolute faith in Ladybug to break him free of the villain’s control or if she was unable to then the Miraculous Cure would fix him right up. Unfortunately, there is no aid for the disgusting feeling that came after being mind controlled. The feeling of being invaded, a loss of control, the guilt of being turned against those who you swore to protect. Chat Noir shook his head, he needed to stay extra focused. He had to pay extra attention to Ladybug, to ensure that she never fell under the Akuma’s influence. If she were to go down… he didn’t want to think about the consequences. “I want to know where he found so many victims at this hour! I thought people were supposed to be eating dinner right now. Like we should be.” He mumbled the last part, knowing that their dinner was currently growing cold back at their shared apartment. “Eight years of this and Hawk Ass still doesn’t respect dinner time.”
“Relax kitty cat, we can stop by our spot after this. I’m sure that Darel will make a feast for us in exchange for a couple of stories. To answer your other question, the Akuma probably started building their army at the grocery store. There are always people there.” Ladybug spun her yo-yo around to create a shield as she glanced around the battlefield. Things were looking bad as more and more civilians appear with each passing moment. It was becoming painfully clear how the Akuma tried to defeat them… swarm them with civilians. “Any clue on how the Akuma gets them under their influence?” She jumped away from another attack, just to find herself stumble into Chat Noir’s back. Ladybug swung her head around looking for any spot to give them any sort of leverage. “Kwamis. We need a plan. There are too many of them and we can’t hurt them.” This was yet another reason why she hated Akumas with mind control. Civilians get dragged into the fight with no magical protection and she knew that she had to hold her strength back to avoid hurting them. Making an already difficult fight that much harder.
“No idea bugaboo. The only idea I have right now is to throw our paws into the air and see where that takes us.” Chat Noir glanced at the feathered wings on his back and the insect wings on her’s. This was one of those rare times where they needed to retreat and get their bearings. The situation was growing worse by the second and they had no idea where the Akumatized villain was, let alone where the Akuma was hiding.
“Got it.” Ladybug nodded her head as she tensed up her shoulder muscles ready to fly away on her partner’s signal. They only had one shot of getting a clean getaway, the surprise of their wings being functional only worked once a fight after all. While she knew that her yo-yo is technically a faster escape on a moment’s notice, it was also vulnerable to getting intercepted by the enemy.
“Leaving so soon? What a shame, especially after my thralls worked so hard to make you feel welcomed.” A new voice spoke up drawing the attention of the two surrounded heroes. The mind-controlled civilians moved to create a pathway for the Akuma to walk towards the two heroes. He was dressed in a black suit, with a blood red trench coat. His fingernails were painted black and sharpened to a point. His canine teeth and ears sharpened to a point, though the most striking change was his eyes. They were pure red, a stark contrast to the otherwise pale face. A smirk was on his face looking at the two heroes. “My name is Vladheart. Now, would you be so kind to come over here and hand over your Miraculous? I’m quite famished and you two smell… delightful.”
“Using defenseless civilians to tire us out is a low-“ Ladybug snapped back, locking eyes with Vladheart. The moment she did, she felt like someone was reaching out to her mind, searching for a way in. Her skin crawled at the feeling and a knot formed in the pit of her stomach. With no experience protecting herself against mental attacks, Ladybug had little defense against Vladheart’s powers. She found it harder to concentrate on things that weren’t Vladheart. Her raging thoughts were starting to slow down as the world started to disappear around her. A haze formed over her mind as the only feelings she had was this overwhelming need to serve Vladheart. Sometime during this, she stopped spinning her yo-yo as the weapon fell to the ground with a quiet thunk. Her eyes glazed over as she stood there awaiting her master’s next order.
“Come over here Ladybug.” Vladheart beckoned her to his side with two fingers, the smirk on his face never wavering. He could feel his powers reaching out to her mind and cementing his control over the spotted heroine. Once he had her Miraculous in hand, getting Chat Noir’s ring should be trivial. After all, everyone knew that Chat Noir would do anything to protect his partner. Which meant that he should be completely defenseless against her attacking him… especially if she was in civilian form. “Hawk Moth wants your Miraculous and I want a snack.”
“Yes Master Vladheart.” Ladybug replied in a monotone voice letting go of her yo-yo string and taking a step towards Vladheart.
“Ladybug??” Chat Noir cried out in surprise as he felt her leave his side, a knot forming in the pit of his stomach. He knew that he needed to snap Ladybug out of whatever spell Vladheart had her under. He knew that he couldn’t cast the Miraculous Cure to dispel the magic controlling everyone’s minds, only she could. His eyes narrowed, getting his partner back to her senses was of utmost importance. Though he was already thinking of a backup plan if he couldn’t snap her out of it. Scarabella was one Voyage away, and while he would hate to ruin her vacation, the future of Paris was at stake. A small chuckle escaped his lips at the pun.
Shaking his head, he knew that this was not the time to get distracted. He knew from personal experience that the longer he was under an Akuma’s spell, the harder it was for him to break free. Using a combination of his baton and wings to push away the latest round of civilians trying to pin him down. He spun around and ran after Ladybug, as soon as she was within reach he tightly grabbed onto her shoulder, stopping her from walking any closer to Vladheart. He had to use more force than he usually did to keep her from moving, to the point he knew his claws were digging into her shoulder. He felt bad being so aggressive with Ladybug, but this was no time for games, he had to use any trick he remembered to snap her out of this. Placing the baton back on his back, he used his other hand to force Ladybug to turn around and face him.  “Come on LB, you are stronger than him. Snap out of this.” He told her, digging his claws ever so deeper into her shoulders. “I’m sorry if this is hurting you, but I need you to wake up.” His eyes focused on her glazed over ones, mainly to avoid falling under the same spell controlling his partner.
“You are delaying the inevitable Chat Noir. She’s my thrall now, isn’t that right Ladybug? Come over here and give me your Miraculous.” Vladheart licked his lips in anticipation, his fangs fully extended and on display for both heroes to see. “When Hawk Moth offered me the power to show people Vampires are real, I wasn’t expecting to get the full package. Bloodlust is a worthwhile trade if it means I get to show those who mocked me the truth.”
Ladybug knew that she needed to obey her master’s orders without a second thought. Though a firm grip on her shoulder was making it difficult to carry out her master’s latest order. A building pain in her shoulders kept on distracting her from her task to hand over her Miraculous to her Master. Her instincts were yelling at her to get away from the source of pain. Eyes narrowed in irritation as she looked to who was not only stopping her from going to Vladheart’s side but also causing her so much pain. Seeing those neon green eyes lifted a bit of the fog from her mind. She could partially understand what this cute blond-haired cat man was saying. ‘Snap out of this’. The pain grew in her shoulders as it was becoming harder to focus on her master’s command and not on the source of this pain. ‘Wake up.’ The boy said again, his words a welcome distraction from the pain. She blinked a few times trying to understand the meaning behind what he was saying. What the cat boy was saying, the words Chat Noir coming to the forefront of her mind.
Chat Noir was that his name? A wave of pain shot through her head.
Chat Noir, no that definitely is his name. The fog clouding her mind continued to fade away.
Chat Noir, her partner! A stronger wave of pain shot through her head, though she would not falter.
Focusing on his face, Ladybug fought back the last slivers of fog covering her mind as she started to come back to her senses. She shook her head out of reflex, she could already feel a massive migraine forming. “Kitty?” Confusion was evident in her voice as she gently held the side of her head. “What happened?”
“That should be impossible! She should be mine! No one could call me a delusional if I had Paris’ shining heroine under my complete control!” Vladheart screeched in anger. “Bring them both to me my thralls! I will personally ensure to make them both mine!” The horde of mind-controlled civilians doubled their efforts to restrain the heroic duo. “I. Will. Prove. Them. All. Wrong!”
“Good to see you back.” A snicker came from Chat Noir’s lips as he snatched up her yo-yo from the ground. Using his wings he pushed a few civilians away from them and placed Ladybug’s yo-yo into her hands, before picking her up bridal style. “The only person I’m loyal to is milady right here.” He shot a wink at Ladybug, knowing making eye contact with Vladheard was dangerous. He bent his knees before jumping into the air using his wings to fly them away from the Akuma and his thrall below. His focus was to get them to safety and make sure Ladybug was alright.
===================================================================================
He could only keep them airborne for a few minutes and he could feel himself grow tired, he glanced around for a secluded rooftop to land on. Once he found one he slowly lowered them to the rooftop and gently helped Ladybug stand up. “How are you feeling Buginette?” He tucked his wings behind his back to give her more space if she wanted it.
“Ugh. I don’t know how to describe how I’m feeling.” Ladybug mumbled; her fingers wrapped tightly around her yo-yo not looking at him yet. “I feel dirty, like I need ten showers and even then, I’m not sure if I’ll feel clean.” She continued, deciding to focus on the distant skyline rather than her partner’s face. This was one of the first times she’s fallen under an Akuma’s control, so the entire experience was new to her. Well… minus the aching shoulder, which she wasn’t sure where that came from. She didn’t remember landing badly tonight, maybe it happened while she was under Vladheart’s control. “Oh, and my shoulders aching.”
Chat Noir placed his hands on Ladybug’s shoulders and gently squeezed them in an attempt to comfort Ladybug. “I know what you mean, you feel violated. Dirty that someone was able to get inside your head and make you do things you didn’t want to.” He spoke with experience, his gaze focused solely on her; he knows exactly what she is describing. The moments after waking up from whatever twisted world the Akuma villain put him in. Reality comes crashing in with fear and guilt right behind. His mind conjuring the worse possible outcomes to fill the blank in his memories, Ladybug’s reassurance after the fight helped quite his worst fears. “It will pass with time. The only good news is you didn’t get very far, and I haven’t seen anyone recording the fight.” He knew that Ladybug was Paris’ shining star, and if people learned that she fell under the Akuma’s spell… well, he didn’t want to think about how much faith Paris would lose in her. He was already known to be the one prone to getting enslaved by Akumas, so he didn’t care if the news got another clip of him being controlled. He would do anything to make sure Ladybug stayed safe, he had full faith that she would save him after all. “Ah, the shoulders were my doing…. Sorry. I thought that pain might help you wake up from whatever he did to you. Anything else?”
“Confused mainly… I remember telling him off for using such cowardly tactics and then nothing.” Hearing that Chat Noir was the source of her aching shoulders, Ladybug’s lips formed a little o. “Don’t apologize, the pain did help snap me out of it.” Ladybug reassured him, looking up to her partner in concern in her eyes and a reassuring smile on her lips. She knew that getting injured during Akuma fights was part of the superhero package. She raised an eyebrow when he mentioned that she didn’t get very far. “What did I do?” Unease filled her body as she gripped her yo-yo tighter, at least she still had her Miraculous which brought some comfort.
Chat Noir glanced back to where they came from, it seemed like no one was following them. “Not much, you tried to walk over to Vladheart’s side and hand over your Miraculous. Though I stopped you before got too close to him.” He explained, seeing a rooftop entrance they could hide behind and rest. He gestured to her to follow him as he walked to the backside of the entrance and sat down, hidden from the view of others. Ladybug followed right behind him, taking a seat next to him. “You did call Vladheart master though. Seems like we have a vampire situation.”
“Vampires? Great… at least they fit in with the theme of most of the other Akumas we’ve fought this month.” Ladybug groaned, running a hand through her hair in frustration. “Can we go back to fighting Akumas like Mr. Pigeon again? I know how to deal with those kinds of Akuma without having to do outside research.”
“While I purr-sonally wouldn’t mind going back to the easier fights, un-fur-tonately we need to defeat Sir Bites-a-lot first. The last thing we need is for the entirety of Paris to have a snack paw-blom and the blood bank goes empty. It would be claw-ful if we risked our necks like usual just to find everyone wants to take a bite out of them instead.” Chat Noir smiled at her; he could see the tension in her frame hopefully his jokes could get her to loosen up a bit. He scooted closer to her and extended one of his wings, wrapping the golden and red feathers around her shoulder blade. This was one of the times he wished his wings were larger so he could wrap her up in the soft feathers.
A quiet groan came from Ladybug’s lips as she listened to his consistent stream of puns. His puns were so bad, but she couldn’t keep the small smile from coming onto her lips. “Put a stake in it. The vampire puns were sooo bad kitty.” She knew that despite verbally denying her appreciation of his puns. Listening to him joke around and throw puns helped her calm down and keep a level head during tense moments. Feeling his feathers brush against her suit didn’t hurt either.
Hearing Ladybug pun caused Chat Noir to sit up straighter, careful not to hit her with his wing in excitement as his ears and twin tails perking up in response. “Milady you punned!” Pure joy radiated from him as the biggest grin came onto his lips.
Realizing what she did, Ladybug covered her face in embarrassment. “It was an accident!” This was why she never replied to his jokes with puns. She knew that the moment that he learned that she enjoyed his puns that she would hear no end to it. “This doesn’t mean you can double the puns at home kitty!”
Chat Noir’s grin grew in intensity as he watched Ladybug’s reaction, a giggle escaped his lips moments later. “I knew it was only a matter of time be-fur you joined me in the joys of puns!” He gently poked her in the side to try and get her to lower her hands.
The poking worked as Ladybug took her right and playfully swatted the offended claws away from her side. “Chat!” She giggled as she attempted to keep away from his pokes, though her feeble attempts only spurred him to increase the intensity of his attacks. “Chat! Chat! Chat! Stop it!” She now needed both hands to keep his poking fingers away from her vulnerable side. Unfortunately for her, he was faster at poking her side then she was to swat his hands away. Her giggles grew in volume with each successful hit he got in. “Okay, okay, okay! I admit defeat! I did pun now stop it!”
With a smug look on his face relishing his small victory, Chat Noir pulled his hands back. He tilted his head to the side with concern on his face. “Feline better milady?” He knew that the best way to deal with the uncomfortable feelings of being mind-controlled was to spend some time with Ladybug either inside or outside the costume. It was his way to remind himself what normal feels like. It helped him separate his feelings that were the result of the Akuma’s influence and his personal feelings.
Ladybug nodded her head in agreement. She still felt disgusting and in need of several long showers after this fight, though not nearly as intense as when he snapped her out of it. “I am, thanks kitty.” Though that made her wonder, was this the same tactic he used to cope with the feelings of being under an Akuma’s control? She could recall all the times he insisted on a dual ‘patrol’ after those types of attacks before they found out who was behind the masks. Though when they were together for patrols it was less ‘patrolling for danger’ and more ‘playing tag across the rooftops and hanging out like normal teenagers’. “Is this why you always want to do a dual patrol after those types of attacks before the reveal?”
“Yeah… It helped me remember what were my feelings versus what the Akuma made me feel.” Chat Noir explained, looking Ladybug in the eyes a soft smile on his lips. “It meant a lot to me that you were willing to drop whatever civilian plans you had those nights to help me sort out my thoughts.” He placed his hand on the rooftop, recalling the days where it was difficult to contact her if there was no danger.
“We are partners now and forever regardless of the masks and magic. Don’t you ever forget that Chat Noir. Like you told me before, it’s you and me against the world.” Ladybug noticed Chat Noir’s hand on the rooftop, and she placed her own on top of his. Slowly working her fingers to fit in between his. “If you ever need me, I’ll come running at a moment’s notice. Even if I must move heaven and hell to do so.”
Hearing a reminder of how much Ladybug cared for him brought with it a renewed sense of energy. The exhaustion from flying them to this rooftop is now gone. He wrapped his fingers as best as he could around hers. “Always.” Chat Noir nodded his head in agreement, speaking of them against the world… they still had a very dangerous Akuma on the loose. “We need a plan to deal with Vladheart and not fall prey to his mind control. Any ideas?”
There was the million-dollar question, how to take down an Akuma they couldn’t focus on. “It was his eyes, once I looked into them, I was a gonner. Though…” Ladybug trailed off, her eyebrows narrowed in thought. She knew that snapping out of Vladheart’s influence was easier once she recognized Chat Noir was holding onto her. “You made coming back to my senses so much easier. Being able to focus on you, on our bond helped me fight through his control.” She fiddled with the ribbon in her hair, trying to find a way to keep Chat Noir close by her side mid fight.
“So, if we stick close together, we might be able to snap each other out of his control if we mess up and make eye contact?” Chat Noir took his free hand and placed it to his chin in thought. “I could see that working, but the only time we fight back-to-back is whenever we are pinned and on our back feet.” He pointed out a hard frown on his face. “I don’t think that is a good way to start a fight.”
“Right.” Ladybug nodded her head in agreement, he made a good point. Her fighting style was so different from his, so if they needed to stick together one of them would be at a serious disadvantage. She suffered from being too close to the enemy, he suffered from being too far away from the enemy. If only there was a way for them to be close to one another without impacting their ability to fight… She continued to fiddle with her hair ribbons for a few moments trying to find a solution. Her eyes widened as an idea came to the forefront of her mind, this was by far her dumbest plan that didn’t involve a Lucky Charm. However, this was the only plan that she had now. “This might be a stretch and blow up in our faces, but I think I have an idea. Take one of your belts off.” She instructed him, wiggling her hand free of his grasp and using both hands to get the ribbon out of her hair, mindful of his wing still wrapped around her shoulder.
“Alright?” Confusion was evident on Chat Noir’s face as he glanced down to his stomach and started to fiddle with his belt tails. He retracted his wing to give them both more space to fiddle with their costumes. After fighting with Ladybug for eight years, he normally felt like he had a good idea of what Ladybug was planning before she explained it. This time she had him stumped, it was rare but not unheard of that she needed one of his belts as part of her plan. Once he got the first tail off, he placed it on the rooftop and turned his attention to the remaining belt. He fiddled around with the positioning for a few moments before finding a way to have it rest naturally around his waist. “In the mood to see a blast from the past?” He chuckled, picking up the discarded belt and offered it to Ladybug. It felt weird to only have one tail now, but he knew he would get over it in a few minutes. “So, what’s the plan?”
“Well… we’ve worn our current costumes for about a year now kitty. So, everything feels normal, right? Which means we should be more aware of any changes to what we are wearing? Let me see your right hand and spread your fingers apart.” Ladybug explained with a single red and green ribbon in her hand. Chat Noir complied without question offering his right hand to her. Her eyes were immediately drawn to his Miraculous. “I can’t speak for you, but I know I’m hyper aware of anything that’s near my ears and to a lesser degree my neck. So… if we wear something that comes from the other’s suit near our Miraculous it might help us stay grounded.” She explained wrapping the ribbon around his finger, tying it in place with a neat little bow right above where his Miraculous sat.
Chat Noir hummed in thought, until Ladybug mentioned it, he never thought about which hand he gave to others. For his friends and those he trusted, he would give them his right hand but to everyone else he would give them his left hand. “I see where you are coming from. I can’t remember the last time I’ve given a stranger my right hand…” He flexed his fingers to ensure that the ribbon stayed in place. “Alright scoot over here LB, let me know if this is too tight.” Ladybug scooted over to Chat Noir with her back turned to him to give him easier access to her head. Despite the rough looking texture, he knew that the belt had the right level of flexibility. Placing the center of the belt around her forehead he ran it behind her ears and tied it at the bottom of her head. He shut his eyes focusing on the image of bobby pins, his fingers wrapped around the section that he wore around his waist. “Fabrication.” He whispered and felt the material shift in his hand. Opening his eyes, he saw that he had a small pile of bobby pins in his hand and the useless section of tail was gone. He carefully pinned the belt into Ladybug’s hair ensuring that he didn’t accidentally poke her with his claws. “Okay that should stay.”
Ladybug swung her head around to see how well Chat Noir’s handywork stayed in place. Satisfied that the improvised headband was going nowhere she stood up. “I want to try this from a safe distance away from Vladheart, so we have time to retreat if it doesn’t work. I’m just worried about time. The longer we let him build his army, the harder getting his Akuma will be.”
“I think this is one of those times we have to take a blind leap of faith and trust in our bond as partners.” Chat Noir reassured her, pushing himself up into a standing position and offering his hand out to her.
Taking the offered hand, Ladybug pulled herself up, her eyes falling upon her partner’s face for a moment before she nodded in agreement. “Right. Believe in ourselves and believe in each other.” Her gaze shifted to the Parisian skyline knowing that it was time to take down the vampire once and for all. “Know anything about vampires that might help us out?”
Chat Noir shook his head sadly,“ not much, just what is written in fiction. Never occurred to me to ask your mother about the magical world during our training sessions. Stake through the heart to kill them, can’t be in sunlight, can only feed on blood, and we know our friend can control others through direct eye contact.”
“I can’t blame you kitten; I didn’t think to ask her either. In hindsight I should have after the dragon Akuma showed up. After three back-to-back magical inspired Akumas screams ‘Hawkass is following a pattern’.” She sighed; things were easier when she was under the impression that the only magic in the world was Miraculous. “Do you think that Hawk Moth found out about the Magical Dimension and that’s why he’s focusing on sending Akuma inspired by magical creatures?”
“I don’t know Bug. I don’t want to think about what he would do if he knew about the Magical Dimension. So, I’m going to pretend that this is the result of being October and that means tourists and exchange students have monsters and magic on their minds. Well… until proven otherwise.” He only knew a little bit about the Magical Dimension, mainly from the stories that Sabine told him during training or from the few times Sabine took them over there. Those trips were mainly to gather reagents or to meet people the former Black Cat holder deemed important to his or Ladybug’s future. He wanted to learn more about this other world but knew that he would have to wait until Hawk Moth was defeated. Time moves differently between the two worlds, and it was too risky to be over there while Hawk Moth could strike at moment’s notice.
“Good idea, I’m stealing it.” Ladybug knew that the idea of Hawk Moth knowing of the Magical Dimension was a serious threat. However, that was a problem for future Ladybug. Present Ladybug needed to focus on defeating Vladheart, capturing the Akuma, not hurting any of the enthralled civilians, making sure she didn’t get enthralled again, AND somehow avoid getting bitten. “For Kwamis sake, I need a vacation after this.”  Ladybug grumbled rolling her shoulders and spreading her ladybug wings. “Ready to go kitty?”
“Always.”
Fear Me Pt. 2
Previous
Marinette glared up at the open window at the top of Agreste Manor where a purple butterfly flew out of.  The only reason she was here was to do a stupid project with the kid.  She was not here for this.  She was tired, on her 8th cup of coffee in the last 2 hours, and Lila had spun the bathroom incident into some big story; so the school was currently at her throat.  Marinette took a sip of her 8-shot coffee and let out a small pained groan.  First she was going to finish this project, then she was going to take a LONG nap, then she was going to kill Gabriel Agreste.  Well, maybe not kill, but brutally maim.  So ignoring the chaos that was going to occur in the next 10 minutes when the Akuma latched onto the person she made her way into the stupid mansion.
It took her 18 hours after finding out Hawkmoth’s identity to prepare for the final battle.  She refused to let Chat Noir join this fight.  She had a feeling that if she let him come things would end very badly.
It was easy to sneak into the mansion, she had had to sneak through way worse or more convoluted security than this.  Finding the lair was a bit harder, but when she focused on where the magic was most concentrated she discovered the jewels on the nightstand right next to where Gabriel lay asleep.  There was another source of magic from somewhere else in the mansion as well, she’d have to check it in a bit.  Quietly she walked towards the dresser and snatched the miraculi.  It wasn’t some grand battle, it wasn’t anything bloody, but she was about to make it that way.
Casting a spell that would keep Gabriel asleep she began her work of carving the curse wounds into his skin.  He would never be able to use or touch a miraculous again, and everyone would know who he was and that he was a cursed being.  This was revenge for both Nooroo and Duusuu.  When she was done she snapped her fingers and watched as he woke in excruciating agony as the ruins burned and seated into his skin.  He turned his head and looked up at her as she stared down at him, a cruel smirk playing at her lips.  She turned and saw Adrien in the doorway, he must have woken up to his father’s screams.
She could feel miraculous magic wafting off of him now that she was really focusing on him.  She looked down at his finger and saw the cat miraculous on his finger.  Swiftly she moved towards him and took the ring before he could even blink.  And before he could turn around to call out to her, she was gone.  The sound of police sirens filled the air and thus concluded the end of Hawkmoth’s reign.
Mrs. Agreste’s body was found in the basement and given a proper funeral.  She was now allowed to rest in peace and Adrien was finally able to truly mourn his mother.
————
4 months later
Marinette was back at the Temple of Order.  Her mission was completed, it was her duty to return to her people.  When she returned she had been told of the fall of her sister tribe.  A sudden spike of fear and dread filled her at the thought of her beloved falling with it, but she was relieved when she was told that was indeed alive and living with his father.  She was to leave to find him in 1 week.  Master Fu was soon to pass from this world, and he was going to make her the next guardian any day now.
When Marinette was called to her master’s bedroom she knew what was about to happen.  No matter how much she tried to prepare herself, she wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the man who had raised and taught her.  Kneeling at his bedside, silent tears slipped down her cheeks.
“Ah, Marinette, Wǒ xīn'ài de nǚ'ér.  Are you ready?”
“No,”
Marinette sobbed,
“I’m not ready, Master.”
“No one is my dear, but it must happen.  I Wang Fu relinquish my title as Guardian of the Miracle box of Balance and gift it to my apprentice and daughter, Marinette Chunhua Fu.”
Marinette could feel the energy change in the room as the magic transferred and moved around them.  Marinette gripped Fu’s hand in her own as it slowly became cold.  When all was said and done Marinette looked upon her master’s face.  His eyes were closed and a small smile graced his lips as he fell into eternal slumber.  The burial ceremony hit her hard, but when it was over she was given a bag filled with all of her neccaties and all of the things that Fu had passed onto her.  Then she left her home and left towards where she was told her beloved would be.  Gotham City, New Jersey.
————
Standing in front of the manor doors Marinette blinked at the door tiredly.  It had been a very long flight and walk.  Her feet hurt and she had had to fight if more than a few assailants on her walk here.  Finally she knocked on the door and waited.  A few moments later the large door was opened by an older gentleman.
“Hello miss, how may I help you?”
He said with a heavy British accent.
“Hello, may I come in, I’m looking for someone.”
“Of course, please come right on in.”
“Thank you.”
Marinette said with a breath of relief.  Instead of waiting in the foyer like she expected, she was brought to a sitting room with soft plush couches, an unlit fireplace, and a small coffee table in the middle of the room.
“You my set your things down and take a seat while I gather everyone.”
“Thank you, and could you please just grab Damian?”
A soft smile graced the older man’s lips and he nodded.
“Of course miss.”
He said with a small hint of joy in his voice.
“Thank you sir.”
“Alfred is just fine.”
“Only if you call me Marinette.”
Marinette retorted with a small smirk.
“As you wish, Miss Marinette.”
And with that he disappeared.  Marinette sat down and nearly melted at the warmth and softness that surrounded her.  Suddenly all of the exhaustion hit her full force and despite her attempts to stay awake to see her love after so many years, blackness consumed her vision and she fell asleep.
Damian rushed into the room, running faster than he had for anything causing him to almost run into different things multiple times.  When Alfred had told him that Marinette was waiting for him in one of the main rooms he didn’t even realize he had gotten up until maybe a minute after Alfred told him.  A few of his siblings had been with him and were very confused at his reaction and had tried to follow him.
Once Damian saw her he quickly ran up to her and grabbed her hands.  She didn’t respond which immediately sent panic through his system until he realized that she was just asleep.  She must have been up for a very long time as he stared at the bags under her eyes.  Letting out a breath of relief he gently moved some hair behind her ears and placed a gentle kiss to her temple.
“I missed you Angel.”
He whispered as he carefully lifted her into his arms letting her head lean against his shoulder.  Marinette stirred slightly, her eyes fluttering open just a crack.
“Mon Demon?”
She mumbles quietly.  Damian smiled gently and leaned his head against her own.
“I’ve got you my Angel.”
With the Marinette snuggled deeper into her shoulder going completely lax in his hold with a peaceful smile on her lips.  When he turned around he saw the shocked looks on his siblings' faces.  Going back into his neutral facade he cleared his throat,
“I will explain later.”
And with that he turned away heading towards his room with his beloved once again in his arms.  As he walked the lights gleamed off of something in her hair and he was delighted to see her still wearing the clip he had gifted to her, and later had engraved.  Sadly he could no longer wear the bracelet as his wrist was now too large, but he always kept it with him in some way.
Carefully he pulled back his covers before placing her down on the bed.  He placed the blankets all the way up to her neck and chuckled softly as she snuggled deeper into them.  He quietly walked around the bed and sat right next to her and began his meditation.  He would protect and stay with her.  Nothing would ever separate them again.
Marinette was officially done with Hawk Moth interfering in her life. She could take him interrupting school, or her time out with friends (which had become increasingly awkward as of late anyway), or even her moments of being bogged down with projects.
But interrupting her one-on-one time with Luka? First their movie date and now their moment of getting ice cream together? Absolutely not.
As far as she was concerned, this meant war. If Hawk Moth wanted to shove himself into her life like a nosy busybody who couldn’t go five seconds without trying to take away her means of happiness, then fine.
Two could play at that game, and she was feeling petty enough to make the next move. She’d had to mull over the subject for a while to figure anything out, not to stop him for good exactly, but at least put an annoying dent in his plans, much like he always did with her.
She had an idea by evening, and got to put it into action right after school. She was saying good-bye to a few of her friends, and had hopped onto the back of Luka’s bike afterwards, her hands carefully on his waist while he rode off along the sidewalk.
A flicker of black and purple caught her eye, and instead of the usual dread or panic, she grinned to herself.
“Luka! Stop!”
He stiffened, but obeyed, putting full force on the brakes and screeching the bike to a sudden halt.
“What’s wrong?” he asked in concern.
Hurriedly getting off the bike, she took off her helmet and handed it to him. “I’m sorry, will you wait here for a few minutes? I promise I’ll be right back!”
Knowing she had to be quick, she didn’t wait for him to reply. She placed a hand on his shoulder, leaning in to place a long, meaningful kiss on his cheek.
If he had prepared a reply, the kiss stopped it, and she ran off to the nearest hiding place while he stared blankly ahead at nothing.
After ducking into an alley and taking a quick look around to ensure it was safe, Marinette opened her purse to let out Tikki, as well with the other kwami necessary for her plans: Kaalki.
“Let’s do this!”
— — — — —
Soon after Pegabug had entered the scene, giving chase to the akuma, Chat Noir wasn’t far behind. Part of her questioned how he’d gotten there so soon, but she squashed the thought just as quickly as it’d come so as to not dwell on the potential identity questions.
“Love the new look, m’lady. What’s the occasion?” he asked in his usual flirtatious tone. “Or did you dress up just for me?”
“Not now, Chat,” she replied shortly, adjusting her sunglasses as she neared the butterfly in question. “I need you to do something for me.”
“Of course! Anything.”
“When I give the command, grab the akuma.”
“I—” He blanked. “Grab it?”
“I’ll explain later,” she assured. Squinting at the butterfly, which seemed to be on a straight path, she felt the moment hit like the epiphany of her Lucky Charm. “Now!”
Slightly panicked, but not asking anything more, Chat Noir sped forward. He dropped to all fours to pick up speed, then leapt for the butterfly. In a swift motion, he trapped the akuma between his hands, and Pegabug reeled her hand back as she felt the charge of her power.
“Voyage!”
The portal launched from her hands, manifesting right in front of Chat Noir. He went through and she followed behind him.
On the side of the portal, she landed politely on her feet while he crashed onto the floor, though he managed to keep the akuma contained in his hands.
A startled Wang Cheng stood up from his chair, looking between the two in surprise, but he calmed himself soon after. “It is time?”
“Yes,” she confirmed, walking over and helping Chat up due to his inability to use his hands.
He shook himself of the impact, then glanced at Wang, Pegabug, and finally the night sky out the window. “M’lady, if he means time to explain why you catapulted us to China, then I’m all ears.” His fake cat ears twitched in emphasis.
“Not exactly, but we can do that too,” she assured. Closing her eyes, she whispered a quick, “Kaalki, divide,” to allow the horse part of her transformation to drop. Pulling out her yoyo to grab a treat, she offered it to Kaalki to let her recharge before addressing the issue properly.
“Chat, you remember Wang,” she stated, walking alongside Wang as they traversed the rooms of the house. Hearing Chat’s footsteps behind her, she continued, “We saved him after he was akumatized into Kung Food.”
“Yeah, I remember,” Chat confirmed, still just as puzzled as before.
“Well, he’s the only one I know who’s out of the country.” She grinned slyly. “And out of Hawk Moth’s radius.”
Chat tilted his head. “Radius?”
Ladybug waited to answer until she saw the little habitat that had been set up, exactly as she’d asked for. Wang opened it for her and stepped aside, then gestured to it, which gave Chat enough of a hint to approach and outstretch his arms so they were inside the mini enclosure.
He hesitated, but released the akuma and recoiled quick enough for Ladybug to snap the habitat shut, thus sealing the butterfly inside.
“The butterfly miraculous has limits,” she explained, pointing to the trapped akuma, “and this is one of them. Hawk Moth can’t sense or do anything with this akuma from this distance, and he’s only allowed one at a time.”
“Meaning...?”
“Meaning that he can’t make another until this one breathes its last breath.” She tossed a grateful smile Wang’s way. “So please take good care of it, sir.”
Wang bowed his head in respect. Chat, meanwhile, was gaping.
“Wait, so that means—?”
“It might not be long,” she admitted, “because we don’t know how old this butterfly is, but—” She raised a finger as she made her point. “—as long as it lives and kept in that habitat, he can’t akumatize anyone.”
With a confident walk, she made her way back to the room they’d originally come from.
Chat, still in a state of shock, followed after and kept pace with her. “What about sentimonsters?”
Ladybug shrugged. “Mayura can still send them if she wants, but it’ll go just as badly.”
“Why?”
“For one, sentimonsters follow the orders of the one with the object, and no akuma means that Hawk Moth doesn’t have any control. For two, if I can teleport the feather away before Mayura can de-power it herself, then she’s stuck with no sentimonster for even longer than the akuma. Feathers take a few months to wear out, and I think they know that. Once they realize the risks, I don’t think we’ll be seeing any sentimonsters all by themselves.”
Stopping at the spot where she’d made the portal originally, she tossed a smile Kaalki’s way and outstretched her hands accordingly, calling upon her transformation once again with, “Tikki, Kaalki, unify!”
Chat didn’t even flinch at the flash of light, staring at the floor instead as he scratched his head. “But—uh—” He paused, needing a moment to come up with more questions. “what if Mayura makes her own sentimonster again?”
“Then I’m sending it to the moon,” she answered nonchalantly. “If they want to waste my time like this, then I’m not messing around anymore. Either they come fight me themselves or I’m keeping every akuma and feather I can here, where they can’t do anything with them.”
He opened his mouth, perhaps to throw out another argument, but she’s stumped him. His lips pursed as he seemed deep in thought, which evolved into a pout as he asked, “So, I guess we won’t be spending as much time together?”
“What?” Pegabug raised a brow, thrown off by that being his concern.
“A-ah—” He seemed to catch himself, waving his hands in defense. “Nothing, m’lady! You’re a genius, as always, and we still have patrols!”
“...Thanks,” she said neutrally, her mind on anything but him even as he tried to flirt.
After all, there was someone waiting for her back in Paris.
“Luka!”
Marinette beamed in both gratefulness and relief as she saw Luka still in the same spot as before, and even in the same position as well. She ran up to him, grabbing his shoulder again with one hand while she took her helmet back with the other.
She kissed his cheek again, a little more lightly than before but with just as much affection. The contact seemed to bring him back to life, his smile returning to his face as he settled his hands back on the bike’s handles.
“Did everything work out alright?” he asked.
“Mhm. I was just—” She paused, a lie almost reflexively coming out of her mouth before she settled on the closest thing to the truth she could, deciding that he deserved as much. “—taking care of something. Hopefully it works out.”
“Knowing you, I bet it will,” he assured with a fond look.
She beamed at him and put her helmet back on, settling herself behind him on his bike so her hands could rest on his waist again. She heard the ‘clink’ of the kickstand as Luka nudged it up with his heel, and then they were off again.
Happy thoughts of Hawk Moth screaming in his lair as he discovered her plan slowly transitioned into blissful imaginings of all the uninterrupted dates she could go on now. Out of sight, out of mind, just as Hawk Moth deserved to be.
Con Man's Daughter
Posting this because there isn't enough biodad! John Constantine content.
(Part 2)
-----
I feel like this should be a Damianette story or just platonic relationship after Jon got aged-up to seventeen and Damian wanted a friend his age but doesn’t want to admit it.
So basically there is this big bad in Gotham using magic that Batman was fighting at the time and enlisted John Constantine to help out.
John realizes that the villain is using a Miraculous.
“Oh. I think I know how he gets his powers. And lucky for you, Bats, I know an expert on this special brand of magic.”
And he did the smart thing and called up Marinette who at the time was already Guardian and was looking for other lost Miraculouses like in the Treasure Hunter AU I wrote.
He calls her at a really bad time. She was in the process of being chased by the guardians of the place. Monsters and evil spirits.
“Hello, Dad. What do you need and can you do it quickly?”
“Hey, sweetheart, it’s me. How is my little cupcake up to these days?”
“You called at a bad time.” Gunshots.
“WAS THAT A GUN I HEARD? WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU, YOUNG LADY?!”
“Somewhere in Japan. Getting a Miraculous. And why can’t you call me to check in on me and not ask me to help you with whatever mess you got yourself into.” More gunshots sounds and it was telling that Marinette was using a gun.
“Where did you get a gun? And don’t you have school?”
“It’s summer break. Don’t worry Maman and Papa know. Well, the fact that I am in Japan anyways.” Marinette sounded a little out of breath. Roaring and horrifying sounds at the other end. “Can we do this later?”
“As it happens, there is a villain going around Gotham with what I think is a Miraculous.”
Swears on the other end.
“Oi. Watch your fucking language, young lady.”
“How about a No and move the fuck back, old man. I am coming over right now.”
“Old man? I am not that old-” as a magic blue portal opens up in the Bat Cave.
And a red Chinese dragon comes out with someone riding it.
Its rider was a black-haired girl. She had a trench coat similar to Constantine's. I imagine her with a fedora. Like Carmen Sandiego style but not red. Sometimes red but only when she has to steal it from a museum or high security places and she leaves a name card with the name Carmen Sandiego. A sword strapped to her back and a dagger to her thigh.
She had a gun in her hand which she used to shoot the monsters as it was halfway through the portal and yelled out the spell to close it.
“Brilliant entrance but you are in lots of trouble, little lady. What were you thinking about going to another country unsupervised? And isn’t there still a butterfly problem in Paris?”
“One, I wasn’t unsupervised. I had Tikki, a billion years old being and a sort of god. Two.Well, it got boring trying to track Hawk-bitch down. And I found this legend about a guy with a Miraculous who disappeared in the temple and thought hey, more miraculous could mean another edge to defeating Moth-man.”
More bickering and John grounding Marinette who was acting very nonchalant about it.
Okay, at this point, I should say that Batman and Robin are in the background trying to make some sense.
Batman is surprised to find out that Constantine has a daughter who is also involved in magic like her Father but an apparently more specialised kind called the Miraculous. He is a little miffed that he didn’t know about John having a daughter. He did consider it weird at first that she had a slight french accent unlike her father’s Liverpool accent although she pronounced some words like he does.
He also connected some dots that she is also the Parisian heroine, Lady Rouge who Wonder Woman introduced to the League a while back and had declined to join the Young Justice or Teen Titans until everything in Paris was resolved.
Damian on the other hand was suspicious of the new arrival and came to the same conclusion as his father about the daughter thing.
Batman after a few minutes, clears his throat.
The Constantines stop arguing.
“Bonjour. Batman. Robin. Pleasure to meet you. I am Mari Constantine and yes, I am this homeless looking man’s brilliant daughter.” “Hey”
“Well, Mari. Your father thinks you can help us with this new criminal turning Gotham upside down. Literally in some cases. He said that you might be able to help us.” Batman said as he pulled up zoomed in picture of the Miraculous.
Mari looks through the Miraculous grimoire and tells them all about it and power-ups, basically the most effective thing to defeat the guy is to get the Miraculous off them. Plus a spell that would make the Miraculous ineffective if casted within a certain radius of it.
“Thank you for the information, Mari. Constantine, let’s go.”
Mari made to follow them.
“You young lady are grounded and staying here.”
“I don’t need another supervillain using the Miraculous which are my responsibility as Guardian to retrieve them for their own misuse and wreaking havoc on the city. And what if there is an akuma in Paris? I can’t go there if I am grounded in the Batcave although it is a cool place to hang out.”
“You can portal back to Paris but you are not going to follow me. Understood?”
“yes. crystal”
“Good. After me and Batsy get the Miraculous, you can do your Guardian duties.”
Damian snickers. Until Batman cut his mood short, “You are staying behind too. Robin.”
“But Father, why? I am much more capable than Constantine.”
“Hey!” Both father and daughter.
Damian is staying behind too because of the Miraculous power or other reasons and keeps an eye on Mari.
Damian stays behind and there were some protests about mari mad about having a babysitter and Damian doesn’t want to be a babysitter. Despite the two of them being around the same age.
“I got an eye on you so no funny business.”
“Okay, Dad, I am not going to have sex with Robin.” Mari said with a shit- eating grin. Robin definitely didn’t blush.
“I hate you sometimes.”
“I love you too, Dad. Go save the world. Byee.”
John eyes her suspiciously because she is not one to give up that easily usually.
He casts a spell to watch her as they leave. and which she totally knew about.
“So...I have one question.”
“Tt, ask and don’t bother me anymore.”
“Is Batman Bruce Wayne?”
Damian looks up, totally caught off guard.
“I am going to take that as a yes.”
Puts sword at her neck. “How did you find out?!”
“Opened up Google Maps and saw that we are under Wayne Manor. Connected the dots. Also I already knew when Dad made a bet with me once to find out Batman’s secret identity but he never did confirm it for me. And can you please not tell your father about this? I don’t feel like being interrogated by the Bat in the future yet.”
“Father must know about this.”
“I saw you looking at Scarlet here. An animal lover then? You can give her some belly rubs. She deserves it after helping me outrun those monsters.”
His silence was brought. To pet a dragon.
One thing after another and he ends up bringing out his pets-Jerry the turkey, Goliath the dragon-bat, Titus- and her introducing him to her other pets like a hellhound, griffin and other mythical creatures who mostly roam free but come to her when she calls for them and also the kwamis, at least the ones who came with her.
After 30 mins have passed, “So Robin how do you feel about disobeying our fathers?”
“I am in.”
“Depends. Are we going after the (villain's name) ?”
“Yes.”
Awesome montage of them getting rid of the spell John casted and flying out of the Batcave on their respective giant flying pets to the villain’s base.
Meanwhile, their fathers are not doing so well and are trapped in a death trap. John can’t say the spell because the villain made him unable to talk.
“At least, the kids are staying put.”
Cut to Damian and Mari jumping off their pets and onto the roof. Taking out the guards posted there and going into the building all sneakily and also taking out the guards that come their way.
They dropped into the room where their fathers and the villain is.
“Why am I not surprised?”
Villain starts an evil monologue about his mastermind plan to which Damian cuts it short by trying to cut him down with his katana. Mari goes to deactivate the death trap.
They are evenly matched with Damian’s training and the Miraculous.
Mari steps in as Damian was about to be killed. Taps on the shoulder of the villain and when he turns around, gives an awesome right hook that knocks him out.
Takes away the Miraculous and curses him. Wiped the dude’s memories of it.
“When I said stay in the Batcave, I meant stay behind at the Batcave. What point of being grounded, don’t you understand?”
“You mean, Oh, Mari, light of my life, my wonderful daughter, thank you for saving my ass. You are the best.’ by that, right?”
-----
Mari and Damian exchanged numbers and email addresses.
As she was about to leave the Batcave, “It’s been nice meeting you, Mr. Wayne.” and leaves with a wink.
John ‘ungrounds’ her for the look on Batman’s face.
-----
After this, Marinette and Damian become friends who bitch and vent to each other about their alter egos and various villains of their respective cities. (In codes, just in case) They also share updates about their pets and love of drawings.
They have that type of friendship where they trade favors. Mari calls Damian to Paris sometimes to help out with the akuma of the day and Damian sometimes calls her in when Bruce doesn’t let him go investigate a case so he can sneak out by magical means or as back up for when his brothers were too annoying to deal with.
It’s summer break so no missing school.
John and Bruce are aware of their friendship and some of the shenanigans the pair gets into behind their back.
-----
-----
Right. how this all started...
John and Sabine first met when the latter was still in college somewhere in France. John was tracking down a demonic entity which was targeting Sabine for some reason and she was the next target.
John saved her life and exorcised the demon. There was a heat of the moment thing and they had a one-night stand. There were a few more flings and hook-ups after that night.
And nine months later, Marinette Cheryl Cheng-Constantine was born.
When Sabine first found out, she called John to come over and he thought that it was a call for another hook-up and was very surprised to find out that it was not and that he was going to be a father.
They both like each other but do not want to be in a relationship together so they both remained as friends and John agreed after some strong-arming at the very least to meet his daughter before he goes to do his job. And pay for child support. And help Sabine during her pregnancy.
Pregnant Sabine was someone you don’t want to mess with. And John has never met a demon or anyone scarier than her.
He was at first not into meeting his child and there was a self-pity party he threw himself with how the child was going to live a bad life because he was the dad and how he destroyed every good thing in his life.
That’s why he is going to meet the baby once and leave maybe a letter and the occasional birthday present and stay out of their life. Forever.
The day Marinette was born and it took one look into her eyes for the HellBlazer to fall under the spell and all of his plans to stay out of her life to burn away.
At first, he tried. He really tried but he couldn’t do it.
Lasted 4 months before he came back, wanting to place protection spells on her and sigils around the house to keep away the forces of Heaven and Hell and other entities so they won’t use her against him as a bargaining chip.
Sabine calls him to babysit. He could have refused and Sabine would have easily found a babysitter. He moans and whines about how he is a great mage and not a bloody babysitter. Sabine retorts that it is actually called parenting since he is Marinette’s father. He grumbles but in the end, agrees.
The great John Constantine is wrapped around the little girl’s finger.
He was around for some of Marinette’s firsts. Her first word was John”.
It made him cry. He wasn’t a good man and he doesn’t deserve someone this precious. His daughter doesn’t deserve someone like him as a father but fate made it that way and what can you do about it.
After an exhausting week of doing the usual and coming back from Hell, he saw that Sabine had sent him a video. It was Marinette taking her first steps.
Chas swears that in all the years that he has known John Constantine he has never seen the man look so happy.
------
When Tom came into the picture, John was there to take care of a toddler Marinette while Tom and Sabine went on dates.
Insert John threatening a much bigger Tom while holding a baby Marinette with wide eyes and hugging a teddy bear with the same coat as John’s. (It was something Sabine brought on a whim and to tease John when he came around.)
Tom is supportive and treats Marinette like his own flesh and blood.
John resolved to leave for good now that Tom would be there to be a father figure for Marinette.
That plan fell into the drain the moment he was going to leave for what was supposed to be the last time before Sabine pulled him back and knocked some sense into him.
His face was a big giveaway. Sabine knows that despite his claims of being a terrible father for Marinette, he was a good one and damnit she was going to make sure that Marinette would get to know her actual father.
Tom later made an awkward talk with John about how he was not going to replace John’s role as Marinette’s father.
Marinette was the flower girl at Tom and Sabine’s wedding. John was there too.
During bedtime, John would read her stories and use his magic to make it come to life. Although he would feel a little drained afterwards, it was worth it to see her smile.
Sometimes he told stories about his tamer adventures. (After cutting out some of the inappropriate bits)
------
When Marinette was about 5 or 6, Sabine was out on an errand and Tom was at home with Mari and helping her with her homework. There was a crash downstairs at the bakery. Tom went down to check it out to find John lying on the ground.
With a weak cough, he said, “Close the door. Close it.” Before losing consciousness
Tom did before a man with pitch black eyes slammed against it.
Thankfully John had installed heavy wards around the bakery when it first opened.
They held against the demon on John’s tail. Tom brought John inside and unsure of what to do, grabbed a rolling pin on the counter.
The man outside started pounding on the glass door and every time his hands touched the door, light glowed outwards, showing the invisible magic barrier around the bakery. Sparks and steams fizzled with every pound.
Despite the reddening and burns of his hands, the not-human didn’t slow down.
“ʝօɦռ....ʏօʊ ӄռօա ȶɦǟȶ ɨȶ'ֆ օռʟʏ ǟ ʍǟȶȶɛʀ օʄ ȶɨʍɛ ɮɛʄօʀɛ ɨ ɮʀɛǟӄ ȶɦʀօʊɢɦ ȶɦɛֆɛ աǟʀɖֆ. օռƈɛ ɨ ɢɛȶ ʏօʊ,” He laughs, the sound sends chills down the large man’s spine, “ȶɦɛʀɛ ǟʀɛ ֆօ ʍǟռʏ ȶɦɨռɢֆ ɨ ɦǟʋɛ քʟǟռռɛɖ ʄօʀ ʏօʊ.”
Tom knew that Marinette’s father was a con man. Come on, Master and Practitioner of the Dark Arts and Occult. But he was a good father nonetheless despite all his flaws and Sabine liked him enough so that was good enough for him.
Before today, magic was just the sleight of hands and use of fancy tools to sell the illusions. Now, with a could-be-a-demon knocking on his door to get to the father of the girl he sees as his daughter, he’s not so sure.
“Tom? Qu'est-ce qui se passe? (What’s going on?)” A little voice came from the stairs, “Dad!” Marinette padded across the floor to the body of her passed out father.
She shook him awake and there were a few soft slaps to the face.
“Dad, what’s happened?”
John mumbles, “Demon…. possessing some rich guy….. Exorcism…. Doesn’t like me very much…Don’t worry...wards going to hold.”
John manages to stand before falling down and Tom catches him before he hits the floor. He has a concussion. Tom turns to Marinette, “Go, Hide and don’t come out until It’s safe.” which she did
Unfortunately, a while later, Sabine returns from her night out and the demon upon seeing Sabine. “ɛӼƈɛʟʟɛռȶ..”
The demon possessed Sabine and the previously possessed dude hit the sidewalk with a thud.
“ɨռȶɛʀɛֆȶɨռɢ....” The voice coming out of Sabine didn’t sound like her mother which scared Marinette a lot. “օքɛռ ȶɦɨֆ ɖօօʀ օʀ,”the demon pulled a knife out of thin air, ,“ȶɦɨֆ ɮօɖʏ ɢɛȶֆ ɨȶ.”
Tom hesitated until the demon put the knife on Sabine’s neck and put enough force for a thin line of blood to be shown.
He opens the door and the demon knocks him out. Stepping over his unconscious body and looking down on it, “ʄօʀ ȶɦǟȶ, ɨ ǟʍ ɢօɨռɢ ȶօ ʟɛȶ ʏօʊ ʟɨʋɛ ʊռȶɨʟ ɨ ǟʍ ɖօռɛ աɨȶɦ ʝօɦռ, օʄ ƈօʊʀֆɛ.” and cackles. The sound was so wrong and unnerving and little Marinette tried very hard for her sobs not to be heard.
Too bad the demon had super hearing. “Come out, my little blossom. Maman is home. Why don’t you come out and give me a hug?”
It sounded so much like her mother and she nearly believed that it was her mother and not some entity in control of her body.
But she knew better from John’s stories of dealing with demons and how they would use the voice of loved ones to lure them out and into a trap. (Definitely not something one should tell as a bedtime story but Marinette was very different and had an unconventional childhood with John Constantine as her father.)
Wait...she got struck with an idea but she wasn’t sure if it would work.
Before she could do anything, the door of the cabinet she was hiding in was opened and she was dragged out.
The demon lifted her a few feet above the ground by the collar of her dress.
It heard Marinette saying something. “աɦǟȶ ǟʀɛ ʏօʊ ֆǟʏɨռɢ ƈɦɨʟɖ, ֆքɛǟӄ ʟօʊɖɛʀ?”
“Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica.” Marinette was now screaming the words at the top of her lungs. She repeated the spell over and over again with fierce determination.
John, being his paranoid self, taught her the spell for an exorcism, just in case. Demons spared no one, not even a girl.
It screamed “NO….” as Sabine’s body contorted in strange angles before a dark shadow seemed to be dragged down into the ground. It made a desperate attempt to possess John before it was pulled away and disappeared. There was no sign that there was a demon attack.
After John woke up, he managed to piece together that his 5-years-old (Sorry 5 and a half) daughter sent a demon back to hell.
He was a very proud dad. (He was a tad worried about the consequences from this event and demons hold one hell of a grudge. He wanted his daughter to live a very safe and happy life. The bakery’s wards also need an upgrade.)
He also got the job of explaining what he actually did to Tom. And lots of reassuring.
Sabine, on one hand, was not happy that Marinette knew how to do magic. That is until John told her that he did it just in case so she can protect herself and later it was agreed that Marinette can learn some Magic spells and charms to better protect herself and when she is older, she can decide if she wants to continue or not.
My-Crack-Ulous: FOP Crossover
*Coughs* Ahem.
Fairly Odd Parents.
Oh, but not what you think! We’re not getting Cosmo and Wanda for a sad Marinette or Adrien. Oh, no...that would be easy.
No, no. Instead, we’re getting Norm the Genie.
Norm the Genie who wants to be free of his lamp but needs a magical stooge to trap in his place and, hey! Kwamis are magic, aren’t they? Not that he knows much about them since they predate the known universe and even Norm isn’t that old, but still!
So somehow Norm’s lamp ends up in Paris. And just happens to end up in Lila’s hands.
Lila, of course, tries to use it to her advantage.
It goes about as well as you should expect...
____________________
It took a few years before Norm’s lamp found itself back in the human world. And of course, it was only a matter of time before it ended up in someone’s hands.
Granted, he hadn’t expected to end up in Paris, France.
Or for his new beneficiary to wear an incredibly unfashionable jacket and have sausages in her hair.
Oh wait, that was her hair. As sausages. Gross.
“So you’re a genie?” She asked.
Norm had to avoid rolling his eyes.
Teenagers. They thought they were so special, so smart. That if something were to happen to them, that it was only for good and because they deserved it somehow. And for how smart they liked to think they were, none of them ever really questioned what the catch was. Or if their wishes were something they should make at all.
This one was no different.
“And you can grant me any wish?”
“Yep.”
“ANY wish?”
“I just said for the seventh time, yes. Any wish. Three of them. Rule-free.”
Not that she knew what Da Rules were, but meh. Details.
“Then I get sucked back into the lamp.”
Of course, he didn’t mention his propensity to twist the wishes for fun. Seriously, if these people were stupid enough to just take advantage of his powers without considering consequences. Or the complete lunacy of just expecting a magical creature to grant them whatever they wanted for no reason just because they ask for it.
Seriously, these chumps never learn.
Now all that remained was for this latest chump to start and he can begin his fun of finding the best ways to twist her wishes for entertainment…
Lila smirked.
“Well then…I wish for Ladybug to be beaten and forced to bow before me!”
Pause.
Norm raised an eyebrow.
“Wait—seriously?”
He shrugged.
“Okay.”
Suddenly, there was a POOF!
And when Lila blinked, there before her was the image of red with black spots.
Ladybug.
By which is meant the lowercase insect “ladybug” kind instead of the uppercase superhero “Ladybug” kind, much to Lila’s disappointment.
As if to further insult her, the bug proceeded to point in her direction, in a facsimile of a bow.
Lila stared.
Norm sighed.
“Ya know, kid, normally people don’t make it this easy. I barely even had to do anything. I feel kind of cheated.”
“WHAT IS THIS?!” Lila demanded, gesturing to the insect.
“It’s your wish. Duh. I mean, I knew people made stupid first wishes but...wow. This is actually worse than the sandwich.”
She wasn't even going to ask.
“My wish was about Ladybug! Not just a normal ladybug! I’m talking about the superhero, Ladybug!”
Norm shrugged. “Well you should have been more specific.”
She practically growled. “Who else would I be talking about?!”
Norm, for his part, was less than impressed.
“I’ve been in a lamp. How should I know?”
Lila huffed before storming over to her computer and turning it to face Norm, showing a picture of a heroine in a red leotard with black spots in mid-swing between buildings.
“THIS is Ladybug. A magical do-gooder who protects the city from Hawk Moth. I want to see her destroyed. Brought low in every way that matters and forced to beg me for mercy.”
“I see.” Norm said, not really getting it at all.
Kids these days, was he right?
“So grant my wish.” She demanded. “I wish for Ladybug, the superhero, to be beaten and kneeling before me.”
Upping it, wasn’t she?
He shrugged. “Fine.”
POOF!
Some distance away, in the middle of an akuma fight, an injured Ladybug was sent flying back into a delivery van full of discarded papers to be shredded for recycling, scattering the papers around her. Winded, she fell into a kneeling position. It just so happened that one of the many papers that on the ground right in front of her was a poster of Lila from one of her photo shoots with Adrien.
Ladybug took no notice of this, being much more concerned with the akuma attack. She quickly pushed herself up and leapt back into the fray.
Lila and Norm watched this on a television from the safety of her apartment some distance away.
“What the hell was that?!” Lila demanded, spinning on Norm.
“Your wish.” He answered bluntly. “She’s beaten. She kneeled.”
“But not to me!”
“Technically, she did.” He corrected her, gesturing to the TV where the now rumpled and sad-looking poster of her image rested where Ladybug had once been. It seemed the hero had even stepped on it once as she took off. Norm bit down the smirk at the unintended irony.
Lila glared at him.
Then she seemed to realize something as she suddenly gained a thoughtful look.
“Can I wish for more wishes?”
Oh, NOW she starts asking smart questions.
Norm stared at her, considering.
He should lie.
He really should lie and say she couldn’t.
From what he’s seen of her so far, this girl seemed a few wires short of a Crock-pot, and speaking of, he was starting to get some flashbacks. His previous time working with Crocker reminded him full well why it was a bad idea to let the humans know they could wish for additional wishes. Plus this girl was already giving him the feeling that the sooner he was away from her, the better.
…but he had spent years as a urinal cake and given what Lila had told him about magical-based superheroes, well, how could he turn away from an opportunity?
“Sure.” He finally answered, much to Lila’s glee.
“Then I wish for three more wishes!” She exclaimed. “And for my first wish, I wish that Ladybug—the superhero Ladybug whom you just saw would be forced to kneel before myself—the me that is right here before you.”
Lila smirked, figuring that it was specific enough that there was no way this could be turned against her.
How little she knew.
The POOF of Norm’s magic was immediately drowned out by complete chaos as something came crashing through the wall and into Lila’s bedroom.
Lila screamed as she was blown back, and covered her face in a limited ability to protect herself from further onslaught.
Coughing could be heard, but it wasn’t just Lila. She dared to peek through her hands and…
Of all people, it was Ladybug crouched on the floor of her room, coughing and waving away the dust and debris.
And sure enough, her position of trying to regain her bearings had her turned in Lila’s directions, head bowed and on her knees. Just as Lila had asked for.
But not in the way she had wanted.
Norm had conveniently vanished from sight, so there was no one else for Ladybug to see besides Lila. Realizing where she was and who she was in front of, Ladybug couldn’t hide her initial scowl before she was able to mask the expression and focus in on the task at hand.
“My apologies, civilian.” She bit out. “Akuma attack. Just stay here and stay safe for now. This won’t take much longer.”
And without another word, she shakily got to her feet and turned back to the attack.
Given Ladybug’s state, Lila could have been in a perfect position to try to interfere. Grab her. Maybe even get her earrings.
But the crash had sent Lila herself falling back, and she was even more unsteady than Ladybug.
She tried to push herself up, but realized that in the chaos, some debris had landed on her leg, preventing her from moving.
Of all the rotten luck!
Ladybug left without further ado and Lila was stuck in her room with a hole in her wall and no way to move from her spot on the floor.
Conveniently, Norm reappeared once she was alone.
“Soooo…just a suggestion, kid, but maybe you should try wishing for something else. Something that doesn’t involve superhero ladybugs.”
“Shut up.” She groused as she struggled to push the broken bits of her desk off her leg and grunting in pain.
Norm, of course, did not shut up.
“I take it you want to use your second wish to restore your room? And your third to wish for more wishes?” He asked, but it was clear he wasn’t actually asking.
“Yes!”
The sooner the better.
With another POOF, her room was restored and her leg, while still injured, was no longer pinned. Cautiously, she rose to her feet, hanging onto her bed for stability.
As if to further mock her, it seemed that Ladybug had successfully defeated the akuma as the Miraculous Cure swept through the area, restoring everything else.
Norm blinked in surprise.
“Huh. Didn’t know that could happen. Well, that was a waste of a wish, huh?”
Lila twitched.
__________________
“Okay. Okay.”
She had thought about this long and hard.
Much to her frustration, it seemed wishing anything against Ladybug directly was doomed to failure. Lila attributed it to Ladybug’s magic and natural luck. There could be no other reason for it. Lila’s phrasing and intentions had been fool-proof.
Norm’s smirks and passive aggressive comments didn’t mean a thing.
As such, Lila reluctantly turned her focus away from her arch nemesis to the more civilian side of things and decided to target someone who had no such protection.
The only one to figure out she was a liar: Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
She didn’t know how the other girl knew so quickly. Or what led her to the truth.
And Lila didn’t particularly care.
Marinette was just another thorn in her side. Not nearly as irritating as Ladybug, but still enough to want her gone. And since Lila had a genie and three more wishes to use to her advantage, it seemed Marinette would serve as the perfect way to test it.
And so, Lila made the first of her next three wishes.
“I wish that Marinette Dupain-Cheng was forced to leave Francois Dupont.”
A bit on the extreme side, admittedly. If she was being honest, Lila would have preferred to keep Marinette around and wish her to be miserable in some other way instead. But she had the power of a genie at her command and given Marinette’s annoyingly clever and intrusive nature, it would likely only be a matter of time before she caught on to Lila’s new advantage and tried something to relieve her of it.
So the brat had to go.
And oh, what a wonderful scene it was when two serious and official looking men stepped into the classroom to ask for Marinette to go with them to the Principal’s office. The goody-goody left the room looking scared. Everyone whispered and looked to each other in confusion, questioning why and what happened. Who were those men and what could they want with Marinette?
Lila practically felt downright giddy at the sight! She couldn’t wait to see the other girl in tears!
It was almost two hours later when Marinette was brought back to the room by Principal Damocles. Both looked pale and fatigued. But Marinette in particular looked almost tearful.
“Pardon us, Ms. Bustier, but Marinette is just here to gather her things.”
Lila had to hold herself back from grinning and instead put on a fake look of concern.
“Oh no! Marinette, are you all right?”
"Girl, what happened?" Alya asked, worriedly.
“What did those guys want?” Adrien questioned in concern.
Marinette shook her head. "I'm being transferred.”
Here, Lila did smirk even as everyone else around her gasped in dismay.
Damocles patted Marinette’s shoulder, his fatigue giving way to cheer. “Those gentlemen were representatives of one of the most highly acclaimed private art schools in Paris, and they came to interview Marinette for a place in their program!”
"WHAT?!"
Any smirk Lila did show immediately dropped.
“They saw my hat at the fashion show and other designs from my website, and once they heard that I was complimented by Audrey Bourgeois, they decided to offer me a scholarship to come to their school." Marinette explained, looking a mix of excited and anxious.
“That’s wonderful!”
“You deserve it, Marinette!”
“That’s right! It’s a great honor!” Damocles continued. “Of course, they were rather insistent about arranging the transfer, but it’s early enough in the school year and—”
Lila didn’t pay any attention to anything further of Damocles’s prattling and barely even noticed the way everyone else in the classroom cheered and showered Marinette in congratulations and praise.
Nobody paid much attention to Lila for the rest of the school day. Which was just as well, as it allowed her to skip out and storm back home.
Where she found Norm. Sunbathing on her balcony. And messing with her laptop.
He only noticed she was there when she slammed the door open.
“What?” He snarked. “Not what you wanted?”
“Undo it. NOW.”
“You sure?” He asked. “I mean, she’ll still be gone. There’ll be no one to call out your depressingly obvious lies. And with her not being around as much, your little followers are bound to lose touch with her over time and be all yours to screw with.”
“The point is for her to be miserable! UNDO IT!”
The next day, it was with some disappointment as Marinette informed her classmates that while the school had wanted her, the school only had limited slots and apparently the men who came to interview her hadn't been aware the vacancy had already been filled.
"It was still a bit too early for me to start there anyway." Marinette added. "I double checked, and they're a fully fledged lycee. They were apparently figuring I could skip ahead a grade and start there sooner."
"Weird."
"But impressive!"
"Yeah, you totally deserve it, dudette!"
"You'll just have to try for next year." Alya said, moving to wrap an arm around Marinette’s shoulder. “But I’m glad you’ll be with us for a while longer.”
Marinette smiled back, happy and relieved. “Yeah!”
Lila glared at the happy group from around a corner.
So this fell through. But next time would work.
She was smarter than some shut-in genie. She was bound to find a way to make a wish that would give her exactly what she wanted.
And when she did…
Lila smirked.
Ladybug would be as good as gone.
Miraculous Ladybug and the Valiant Annuler     By: Haphira
27. You Need ME as Much as I Need You. - Chat Noir makes good on his promise.
Another swing of the yoyo had Ladybug dancing on the edge of a roof, periodically looking for Chat Noir to show up, she wasn’t counting on the new heroes to step in but man, did she need some help. Ladybug let out a low growl and pulled her yoyo back after it bounced off of the Akuma’s weapon.
“Chat Noir, where are you?!” Ladybug bit out, taking another look around before she saw him land on a roof top not too far away. The relief that flooded through her lasted only a moment when she saw Chat sit down and lounge back on his hands, doing nothing but watching the fight.
“Chat Noir, what are you doing?” Ladybug screamed at him. His cat ears flicked in her direction in interest but quickly went back to a neutral state. Chat Noir didn’t make a move to help. Dumbfounded Ladybug tripped and landed face first on the roof. She heard the Akuma getting closer. The usual spiel about handing over the Miraculous fell from his lips.
Ladybug pulled herself up and faced the Akuma again, not bothering to look at Chat Noir who was watching everything in a polite interest. Ladybug thought the urge to hit him before was bad, now she wanted to strangle him. This was what he meant about needing him as much as he needed her.
Ladybug bit back a scream and focused on the Akuma, she called for her lucky charm which was a stuffed toy turtle. She knew she needed Luka’s help but wasn’t sure how to go about getting it. Looking down onto the street Ladybug spots a camera crew, perfect.
Ladybug quickly changes direction from where the Akuma was trying to hit her and swung by the news crew. Tossing the stuffed toy at them she said, “Hold onto this for me for a minute?” Then she swung back up onto a different roof top and ran away from the Akuma.
Praying her plan would work, Ladybug took a glance back and saw that the crew had filmed the news reporter holding the stuffed toy. Now all she had to do was buy some time. Ladybug ran through the park, dodging blows from the Akuma and running circles around him. The Akuma was a stage hand that had gotten chewed out by the manger before they could explain the reason why the set wasn’t completed a few days early.
Ladybug could relate to that which was part of the reason she was going kind of soft on the Akuma. She knew the pressure and responsibility carried when working on something for someone else on a deadline. Shaking the sympathetic thoughts from her head Ladybug scanned the horizon for a figure in green, she saw the turtle hero’s head pop up above a roof top and Ladybug nodded in acknowledgement.
Ladybug kept her guard up and circled around the Akuma until his back was facing the spot where Dìonadair was. The counter on her timer ticked down one, four minutes left. Ladybug charged the Akuma and glanced up at the Turtle hero when she was just about to hit him. Ladybug wraps her yoyo around the Akumatized item and flings it up in the air. Dìonadair throws his shield at the Akuma, knocking him out of the way of the akumatized object and catching it himself. Dìonadair breaks the item and the butterfly is quickly captured by Ladybug landing next to Dìonadair on the roof top.
“Thanks for showing up, I was in a pinch.” Ladybug huffed, still annoyed at the Cat holder.
Dìonadair stealthy glances at Chat Noir who was scrambling up from his sitting position. “You look like you needed it, I’m just glad I could help.” He replies softly. Ladybug smiles back.
“Until next time!” Ladybug leaps off the roof with the beeping of her earrings for a second time, she lands with a flourish in front of the news crew and start asking lots of questions.
Ladybug hold up a hand, “I don’t have time to answer questions today, I just need my lucky charm back.” The reporter hands the stuffed toy back quickly after hearing the beeping of her earrings a third time. Two minutes left, Ladybug yells her signature line and the ladybugs clean up any damage that was done. With a smile and wave Ladybug yoyos to the top of a building and disappears.
Chat Noir attempted to follow her but was stopped by the Turtle hero.
“Hey, let me through, fake, I need to talk to Ladybug!” Chat demands. Dìonadair just shakes his head and waits a moment. Chat was losing his temper.
“Hey! I said, move it! Fake hero!” Chat Noir attempts to shove the hero out of the way but finds himself unable to move Dìonadair.
“Wha-”
The camera crew caught sight of Chat arguing with the new Turtle hero and zoomed in on Chat Noir’s angry face.
“Ladybug owes me answers, she never said anything about new heroes! Do you even know how to fight?” Chat demanded, stomping his foot in anger. The Turtle hero says nothing and stares impassibly at Chat Noir.
“What? Are you dumb or something? I asked you-” The next thing that Chat Noir knew was the ground rushing up to meet his face. At the last moment he felt his body flip slightly and landed on his back, Chat stares up at Dìonadair with disbelief.
“What was that for?! How dare you!” Chat Noir started to yell at the stoic hero, slowly getting up from the ground. The whole time, everything was filmed on camera. Dìonadair just shakes his head and leaps away in the middle of Chat Noir’s rant.
“-some idiot hero- HEY!” Then Chat Noir yells after the Turtle hero then noticed the news crew filming him and so he angrily leaped away to de-transform.
Marinette watched from the shadows after her timer went up, hoping that the news caught how unheroic Chat Noir had been, she hoped that it would get the public on her side. Giving a sigh Marinette headed to the bakery to relax for the rest of the evening.
After giving a hug to her parents Marinette flops into her chair and grabs a sketchbook, intent of drawing something for the evening but as soon as she puts the pencil to the page, nothing comes to mind. Frustrated she turns on the news to see if they did a report on Chat Noir. After pulling up the news web page and waiting for the latest video to load, she grabs a cookie from one of the nearby hiding spots in her room.
When the video played, it showed her yelling for Chat Noir and his arrival on the old building across the way, then it cuts to her and Dìonadair fist bumping and Ladybug jumping away as Chat Noir reached the rooftop she was previously at. They had captured Dìonadair stopping Chat, and Chat’s angry and rude dismissal of him, Dìonadair didn’t react even when Chat tried to push him out of his way. The camera caught Dìonadair flipping Chat mid-sentence, the whole time Dìonadair’s voice was never caught on tape. The camera goes back to an angry Chat and his mean look at the reporters. The video ends with reporters speculating if Ladybug and Chat had a lover’s spat and dismissing Dìonadair completely.
Marinette between angry, exasperated, and annoyed, the crew obviously only wanted views but as Marinette scrolled through the comments, she saw quite a few in support of her and Dìonadair being better heroes than Chat has been as of late. Marinette smiles and finishes her cookie before being called down to dinner. Marinette closes her sketch book, taps a finger on Tikki’s head and heads down to the dining room for dinner. The rest of the night passed slowly but calmly. Marinette wondered at one point if this was the calm before the storm, but she had no way of knowing how right she was.
End of all things [1] | Chat Noir x witch!reader
Fandom: Miraculous Ladybug (Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir)
Summary: Y/N had been Chat Noir’s friend and moral support for a long time now. Even though she had magical powers too, she never liked getting involved with akuma attacks, but now, as Hawkmoth’s gotten control of the miraculous of creation, she couldn’t stay indiferent anymore. She had to save her friend and Paris!
Genre: Mostly angst? A little fluff
Warnings: canon typical violence, mentions of death/dying
A/N: This was requested, but as I was writting it, it got very long and I’ve decided to post it in 2 parts. I’m not gonna post the request just now, so as to not spoil the rest of the story but Part 2 will be coming out on friday!!!
Part 2
~~~
Chat was pacing around the room, waiting for you to be done with your potion. You had heard from your parents that there had been a new akuma attack today, but as the news reported, the two parisian heros took care of the problem in no time. For this reason, Chat’s presence at your house felt unusual. Normally he would stop by when he needed to rant, when he was in need of comfort and reassurance but the fight today went well, so what could possibly be bothering him?
“Ok, I’m done” you said, screwing the cap on the little bottle and placing it on your shelf “Wanna talk?” you asked, to which Chat gave you a shy smile
“Yeah, a little”
You made your way to your bed, motioning for him to follow you. You got under your covers and passed him his favorite plushie, a cat to no one’s surprise
“So what’s up? Is it about the fight today?”
“Well no it’s more like a...personal problem?”
“Oh…”
“Claws out” in a rush of light and electricity, the infamous hero vanished before you, transforming into Adrien Agrest
“Well, what is it?”
Adrien revealed his identity to you months ago. You first met him as Chat, but when you really got to know each other, he decided you needed to know all of him. Well, he needed you to know all of him.
You listened to him rant until way past midnight. Until you were both too tired to stand up straight, so you laid down in your bed, covers up to your necks, muffled stories told in between yawns. You listened carefully, giving him your full attention. He fidgeted with the collar of the stuffed toy and you used your magic to make 2 hot chocolates. Eventually, everything that needed to be said, was said. You offered Adrien to watch a movie, since that always cheered him up, but he refused
“It’s late and I have a photoshoot early in the morning. My makeup team will be angry with my dark circles anyways, better not make it worse” he joked
Adrien transformed back into Chat and you cast a safety spell on him, which you did every time he left your house late at night. He always teased you about being ‘too protective’, but deep down he found it sweet how much you cared and wanted to know that he would get home in one piece.
“Night Chat” you said, wrapping your arms around the hero
“Good night Y/N!”
The next few days went by quietly. You hadn’t run into Adrien at all, but you texted a bit back and forth. Sunday evening however, things took a toll for the worst. You turned on your tv, ready to catch up with your show when you heard Nadja Chamack’s voice doing the news report
“It seems as though Rena Rouge and Chat Noir are struggling to stay on their feet! They have taken shelter under a fallen bus, leaving Ladybug alone to defeat Hawkmoth'' your pulse skyrocketed. As you watched the screen you could see Chat and Rena off to the side, struggling to catch their breath. Rena seemed to be in pain while Chat was trying to help. Ladybug was using her yoyo the best she could in order to protect herself from the supervillain, who was wielding his cane like a sword over her head. The fight was clearly going in Hawkmoth's favour! You grabbed your jacket and ran out the front door and onto the empty streets of Paris, towards the Eiffel Tower, where the fight was taking place.
People screamed at you from their balconies to go home, warning you about the fight and the danger you were putting your life in but you didn’t care. All you could think about was how they needed you. Chat needed you! Every late night talk and every inside joke shared between you two replaid in your head like a broken record. Behind Chat’s tough mask, his alter ego of hero and protector, was the fragile figure of Adrien Agreste. The young blonde boy who cried during romantic comedies, who liked to have his hair braided and forgot how to speak when someone complimented him. If you didn’t help, the heros would loose and he would most likely die! Alongside Ladybug and Rena who, even though you didn’t know their real identities, were still young girls. As you ran down the street, you heard kids crying inside one of the homes. You ran past but at the last second you heard Nadia’s voice coming from their tv
“Ladybug was akumatized”
You approached the Eiffel tower from the side, where you could see everything going on. In front of the tower, right next to Hawkmoth, stood Marinette Dupain-Cheng, dressed in a tight, dark red suit, darker than Ladybug’s. Black butterflies replaced the dots of the heroine's suit and the purple butterfly mask of Hawkmoth’s control was shining over her face. Marinette was Ladybug! She did, in fact, get akumatized. On the other side, you saw Rena and Chat, struggling to stay up right. They were obviously in a lot of pain and extremely tired, but Hawkmoth was merely mocking them.
“After all this time” Chat spoke up, but his breaths were shallow and rapid “I thought you’d know one thing about us! We don’t give up without a fight. Never will. Especially not against you” and with that, the two ran at each other.
“It doesn’t have to end like this, you know?” he said “We don’t have to fight to death. I wouldn’t want to have that on my conscience. All you have to do is give me your miraculouses willingly. The town will be safe, you will be safe! It’s the most heroic option you’ve got. You won’t be any good to Paris if you are dead”
You knew this was not just another fight between them. This was it. Either the heros won or everything they’ve worked for would be lost. Hawkmoth would win and get his hands on both miraculous and god knows what kind of destruction that would bring not only upon Paris, but the world. You focused all your energy in one spot in the air, right between where Chat and Hawkmoth were supposed to clash but before they could reach each other, you sent a wave of energy that blew both of them apart, like a bomb. Hawkmoth flew back into the Eiffel tower while Chat hit the pavement with a thud. Confused and certainly disturbed, both of them began looking around for an answer as to what happened when, finally, Hawkmoth’s eyes landed on yours.
“Aha, miss Y/L/N. What a spectacular honor to finally meet you!” you didn’t reply, instead you stood tall, maintaining eye contact
“I know a lot about you. Seen a lot. Felt a lot of your emotions. None of them can compare to the powers I’ll have with the two miraculouses. With Ladybug’s earrings and the guardian under my control, I’d say my mission here is almost over’’
“Y/N get back!’’ Chat screamed but you were too involved now to run. This was your fight too.
“It is time you give up Hawkmoth. Paris is not yours, neither are the miraculouses. We will destroy you, no matter what it takes!”
“Listen to yourself, kid! <<Destroy me>>? The most you can do is pull a rabbit out of your hat…” before he could finish his sentence, you snapped your fingers in his direction and instantly, the ground around beneath Hawkmoth and akumatized Marinette, fractured. From within the cracks, many tangled plants came out, encapsulating the 2 villains. You sprinted towards Chat and Rena, ignoring the signs of struggle coming from the prison of weeds.
 Alongside the two superheros, you hid inside a corner coffee shop, which was now empty.
“Y/N, you need to leave!! You are putting yourself in too much danger!” Rena told you, as she collapsed to the ground from exhaustion
“Stop with that already! I am here and I’m not going anywhere!”
“Yes you are!” Chat looked at you. His voice was calm and yet, his eyes were filled with disappointment “You are not a superhero. This is our job!”
“You need help”
“No we don’t!” Chat had never, in all your years of friendship, raised his voice at you, let alone yell “ You need to stay safe! You could die! Hawkmoth doesn’t care about anything if it helps him get what he wants! I am ready to take that risk. Rena is too” you both turned to the red headed hero, only to see her slowly nod “But I can’t allow you to take it”
“You can’t tell me what to do”
“I don’t want you to die!” he screamed again “I love you and I will never forgive myself if you don’t come out of this alive!”
Before you could say anything, you saw Hawkmoth and his minion, through the cafe window, cutting through the last of the plants and escaping your trap. You grabbed Chat’s arm and pulled him to the floor, from where you could not be seen
“We’re in this together now” you said in a stern voice, looking the blonde kid right in his eyes “Whether you like it or not '' this time, he simply nodded.
You stuffed your hands into the pocket of your jacket and pulled out 3 little bottles, containing a mate, green liquid. You had prepared one for each of the heros, now you’d only need two.
“Here, drink this!” You handed each of them one “Regeneration potion. Should put you back on your feet.” as soon as they finished drinking the brew, you could see color coming back to their faces
“Where’s Marinette’s akuma??”
“Her necklace” replied Rena “It’s a gift from her kwami”
“Got it. You deal with Hawkmoth. I’ll bring Marinette back!”
Chat and Rena exited through the front door, grabbing Hawkmoth’s attention. He called out to Marinette to attack, but before she could take a single step in your direction, you had snuck up behind her. Using a simple invisibility spell, you managed to exit unnoticed behind the two heros. It finally felt like the fight had truly begun. From the corner of your eye you could see Chat and Rena doging Hawkmoth’s attacks while you, were doing your best to get your hands on the stupid necklace! Even though she couldn’t see you, Marinette seemed to almost always know what your next move was. She would expertly block all your attack and would keep you an arm’s length away at all times. Finally, you had enough and in one swift motion, you pinned her back to your chest, ripping the necklace away. A wave of black and purple took over the both of you and when it vanished, all you were left with was a half unconscious Marinette in your arms. You dropped her to the ground slowly as she was coming back to her senses. You wanted to talk to her but your thoughts were driven away as you heard Chat scream bloody murder.
On the opposite side of the platza, you saw Hawkmoth rip Chat’s ring off his finger, forcing him to detransform. The exhausted figure of Adrien Agreste fell to the ground with a thud. Hawkmoth had, indeed, gotten his hand on both the miraculouses.

pov: one does not simply fake date Sero and NOT start catching feelings
genre: fluff
PART 1 HERE
🅂🅈🄽🄾🄿🅂🄸🅂: almost everyone in 1-A passed the final exams. You know that at that point your life's gonna change. Just not in the way you expect.
You are just a fool who keeps pretending that you're loving me

There are times in your life that you sit in a daze, wondering if you're really a functioning human being that knows how to make solid decisions. As much as you like to pretend that everyone has done their fair share of stupid decisions, they probably wouldn't make the same choice as you did which is: fake dating Sero.
How'd that happen?
Bakusquad asked you a favor. Turns out Sero hit his head one too many times during the final exam. Sero thinks he's dating you. What kind of reverse amnesia is that?
And now you're here at training camp, trying to avoid him as best as you can. Why are you avoiding him?
---
"Hello, Sero." You approach him timidly. His friends asked you to come with them because Sero's getting released from the clinic, and then afterwards, they'd celebrate.
"Sero?" His tone exasperated and he stares at you adoringly. "If this is about me sleeping on Midnight-sensei's lap, then I'm sorry, cariño. Next time, I'll just let Mineta get hit by the pheromones.I didn't know it bothered you."
You coughed awkwardly. Right. "Yeah, um it does a little bit."
"I'm gonna make it up to you." He gives you a half-moon smile and you can't help but return it with one of your own.
He kisses your hand. His soft lips on your skin had you disintegrated. You don't know how to explain it exactly but it's like melting. Melting but more violent. Blissful. Your cheeks warmed. You couldn't look at him. You walked back all the way to class with Sero still holding your hand. Still not saying anything.
He squeezed your hand gently, his thumb exploring your palm.
"Mi amore?"
"..hmm?"
Sero lets go of your hand but not completely, he holds on to the tip of your fingers, loosely, he's not ready to let go. "Let's hang out later?"
You nodded.
"I'll miss you."
You stop nodding halfway and finally met his eyes in confusion. "But we're classmates."
"Still not stopping me from missing you all the time."
Kami. Your heart just exploded. You made an excuse that you were going to the rest room. Once alone, you bring the back of your hand to your lips, just to have a vague knowledge of how he felt when he kissed your hand.
---
Being Sero's girlfriend meant having an open invitation to hang out with Bakusquad. They try to include you in conversations but as a shy person, you could only take so much social interaction. You were glad Bakugou doesn't even try to converse with you. With his personality, for sure you'd start crying. In consolation, you have Sero to entertain you. Not his full attention, but under the table his hands find ways to entertain you.
You sipped your ice coffee quietly. Mina and Kirishima are asking Bakugou how to solve a certain math problem while Kaminari is talking with Sero about the new Akuma Killers movie. A hand brushes yours. He discreetly takes your hand onto his  thigh and then he makes a fist, bouncing up and down. You understand the gesture: rock, paper, scissors.
"I'm so excited! Have you seen the trailer?" Kaminari gushed, waving his phone at Sero. "They really placed huge money on effects! And the way the fight scene flowed! I kept replaying it."
Out of the corner of his eye, Sero smiles at you. You flush under his glance. You play with him. He wins the first round. He flicks your hand as punishment. The second round you won.  You flicked his hands harder than he did yours. It became a contest. Midway, you realized how he was still able to manage keeping up with you even though he's still in conversation with Kaminari.
Your lips pouted. The next round you won, you pinched his skin between your fingers hard enough to mark. Sero yelped. "Ow! Gently! Gently!"
You smirked in satisfaction, taking your hand away from his thigh but he grabs it and laces his fingers with yours. Doomed. That's it. You're doomed to hand holding whenever Sero's around. He lets out a happy sigh.
"Oi."
You and Sero turned to look at Bakugou.
"You better be sticking to hand-holding under this table and nothing else." Bakugou grumbled.
---
"What do you remember?" You ask Sero.
"I remember almost everything except some parts like how we got together are blurry." He scratches the back of his head. "I do know that I've been so much happier ever since we started dating."
"Okay."
Sero takes you to an empty classroom, you sat on the desk with your brows scrunched up trying to figure out what serious talk you're going to have. He calls your name. "I remember... we paired up with each other during one of Present Mic-sensei's classes."
You grinned, nodding. "Yeah."
"So... as a reward, call me by my first name?" He leans his palms by the edge of the desk you're sitting on. "..while looking directly into my eyes. Don't shy away now, mi amore. No one's here."
"I– Hanta." You blushed hard because the tape quirk user stares into you so intensely that it's starting to hold your breath hostage.
"I also remember that one time I was having a hard time writing a report in the library and you helped me for a few minutes." He leans forward. Slowly. "This time no stuttering."
You blinked, arms starting to tremble not in anxiety but in anticipation. "Hanta."
"I remember helping you clean up a fallen trashbin. It wasn't your fault but you cleaned it up anyway." He inches forward, giving you ample time to voice for him to stop. "I need you to say my name five times, cariño."
You took a shuddering breath, your throat bobbed and for a second Sero breaks eye contact to follow your throat's movement. "Hanta." You whisper. "Hanta." His face is close enough you feel the fan of his breath. Oranges. "Hanta. Hanta." His eyes flicks to your lips. "Han..." You trail off when he finally, finally pressed his lips on yours.

ML Fic: Soulmate Survey Part 35
(Master post)
(Insert excuse on why it took so long) (Insert comedic joke on why I didn't update sooner) (plea of trying better) (Heartfelt compliment on why all of you are awesome and patient)
Okay so now that we got that out of the way. But in all seriousness. Thanks for your patience and I hope you enjoy.
If you do enjoy the fic, please Comment and reblog. Reblogs are like Gold on Tumblr and being a writer and posting to Tumblr is difficult. So every little bit helps.
Alright so now lets get to it.
_____________________________________________________________
The nurse heard the commotion going on in the halls. She knew that shortly after Chloé left, things outside the office became… restless. She turned off all the lights and locked the door to the nurse’s office. She did her best to stay quiet and not draw attention to the room. She knew those akuma were out there and she needed to focus on stabilizing her patient.
“I hope that Chloé managed to get that message out.” The nurse whispered to herself.
The woman felt weird pinning her hopes of escaping this place on a spoiled teenager, but at this point, beggars can’t be choosers.
She heard someone approach the door. The nurse felt her blood turn to ice. She refused to move a single inch. She hoped and prayed that the person would go away. She could hear the screams of students outside. She knew the akuma, whoever they were, were out there, and they were taking anyone they could find. Right now, all she could do was pray they don’t check.
“Please… for all that is good… let them leave.” She prayed under her breath.
After what felt like an eternity, she heard the sound of footsteps away from the door and everything returned to eerie silence.
She felt her essence sigh in relief.
She got up from the ground and went to go attend to the unconscious woman in the cot.
“Its strange for someone so young to be so exhausted… but then again, when I get into the line of work I am hoping for, it is likely I will be seeing a lot of cases like this.” Angela joked, trying to keep herself in good spirits. “Society is such a mess.”
Angela checked Nathalie’s pulse. It was present, but it felt off. It was weaker than she was expecting from someone of her age. Perhaps she has a much more serious medical condition. Angela would probably recommend that this woman see a professional when this is all said and done. Though for now, she was stable and calm, which was a very good sign.
The nurse considered that maybe she wasn’t getting an accurate reading, was something off with the assistant’s breathing? She would need to check. The nurse grabbed a stethoscope and moved closer, getting ready to check again.
“Ow!” She yelped as she felt something grab her arm. Nathalie had awaken and she had a firm grip on the woman's wrist.
“What are you doing!?” The surprised assistant exclaimed
“You're awake!? Oh, thank goodness.”
“Awake?”
“Yes, you passed out at a most stressful time. Right now, I recommend we keep our voices down.” The nurse hushed.
‘S***’
Nathalie mentally cursed to herself. She knew it had to be Masquerade. Her little episode resulted in her being far too late to get in and out without issue. She was planning on getting Adrien out of here before things went south.
She got up from the cot she had been laying in.
“Hold on a second.” Angela called out. “You need to stay and rest. I am glad you are conscious. But that sudden fainting spell could be indicative of…”
Nathalie did not have time for this. She gave an ice-cold glare at the nurse.
“If you intend on making me stay here, you will need to do so by force!”
The nurse felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. This woman’s eyes clearly showed intent on fighting. Angela was not a fighter, she helped people, not hurt them.
“You are my patient, and there is a lot of danger outside. You are in no condition to go out there.”
Nathalie had to respect the woman’s guts for standing up to her, despite the nurse’s knees shaking as she maintained eye contact.
“Okay, so how will we deal with the akuma breaking in then.”
“What!”
Angela turned her back to Nathalie, who took full advantage, giving the school nurse a fierce chop to the neck. Causing the nurse to drop like a sack of potatoes.
“Rest up.”
Nathalie put the nurse in the cot that she had previously been resting in.
“Seems I don’t have time to be subtle. Duusu.”
The blue Kwami popped out.
“Nathalie! Do you want to play?”
“Yes Duusu, the game is find Adrien and get out of here.”
“Horray!”
“Duusu! Spread my feathers!”
_____________________________________________________________
“Get down!” Ladybug dived into Chat noir, helping them both avoid the pause symbols and deadly bubbles headed their way. The akuma on both sides of them managed to avoid the incoming attacks they had sent towards the heroes.
“Thanks LB.” Chat noir thanked. “While you are the second person I want to be dancing with. We can't keep dodging forever. Even if their moves are predictable. Maybe those masks are the key to stopping them."
“Hardly a dance, its ettiquette for the boy to lead if it is. And I don't think so. Those masks appear to be unbreakable and impossible to remove” Ladybug said as she pulled her partner quickly back up, both noticing the akuma were ready for more.
“We still haven’t tried cataclysm.” Chat noir comments as he runs and jumps over a trashcan to avoid getting nailed by Bubbler’s attack bubbles.
“Right, but that would leave you exposed. Call it a hunch, but we will need to save it for later.” Ladybug responds as she jumps away and opens a door to block several pause symbols. "Besides, do you want to be mask-less at this Akuma calamity?"
“I was going to say it was more like a Masquerade ball. And no I would not."
Ladybug rolled her eyes at the lame joke, but still had a bit of a smile. Lightening the mood.
"Silly kitty"
"But seriously, we need a plan. If we can’t free them, what can we do?”
Ladybug focused for a moment. She noticed the way they were attacking, it was predictable and slow. Normally the akuma change up their attacks, or at least seem more aware of what the heroes are doing. The akuma were acting a lot more like controlled puppets. Much like when she had to deal with Puppeteer. Seems this akuma had some drawbacks that could be exploited. This was where Ladybug realized there was a way to deal with them.
“We disarm them. Break Bubbler’s wand and I will terminate Lady Wifi’s phone plan. Their reflexes are way more sluggish than usual. My bet is that having so many servants is starting to have a drain on the effectiveness of her forces. We just need to act quick.”
“Alright, sounds good to me.”
“On my mark we charge.”
Ladybug kept an eye on both akuma, after they sent a flurry of attack, they would usually have to take a moment to recharge. Bubbler would need to dip his wand back into his bubble pack and Lady wifi would have her hand cramp after sending 10 swipe symbols and would need to pull her hand back.
“Now!”
Chat noir and Ladybug both pounced at the two akuma, moving fast enough that their foes couldn’t retaliate as the heroes swiped the weapons from their respective wielders.
“Sorry to burst your bubble.” Chat noir joked as he snapped the bubble wand.
“And you’ve reached your data limit for the month.” Ladybug chimed in as she crushed Lady Wifi’s phone.
Both akuma began swinging their fists at the heroes, trying to turn the fight into a bare-knuckle brawl. But Ladybug’s assessment was correct, their attacks were too predictable. Ladybug caught Lady Wifi’s fist and flipped her over her shoulder to the ground.
Chat noir ducked under bubbler’s punch and slipped behind him. The cat used his staff to swipe at the feet of the forward moving akuma and knocked him mask first onto the floor.
“Alright, their disarmed. Now what?”
“Move him over here.”
Chat noir picks up the akuma by his bubble pack and throws him over to ladybug like a curling stone.Ladybug uses her yo-yo to tie the two dazed akuma back to back.
“Let’s put them somewhere where they won’t cause any trouble.”

“Next!” Masquerade called out in annoyance.
She had gotten her akuma servants to capture as many teachers and students as possible. She had the element of surprise and with the amount of akuma she had at her disposal, it was easy to capture several. Though she figured none would escape and cause panic, Timebreaker was guarding the parameter and kept her informed of any people she ‘Tagged’. Horrificator finished sealing all of the exits so no one would be able to come in or out.
She figured there was a good chance for adding more akuma to her rank. The problem was, most of the akuma sucked. She ended up developing a system for them. If they turned out to have no useful ability, she would humiliate them, have reflekta turn her into replicas of herself and then have Princess Frangrance spray the rejects to turn into obedient servants, this way she had something useful out of them. Make them get snacks or whatever. There were multiple uses for mind-controlled students and teachers. So far, she didn’t find a single one worthy of her time.
“I SAID NEXT!” Masquerade shouted louder.
Masquerade sized up the black-haired girl that one of the Reflekta duplicates had pushed forward. She recognized the shy smile from television. She was one of the weather girls on the KIDZ+ network. That was a contest Lila would have KILLED to have been a part of. She mentally told herself she would have won if she had entered.
“Your Mirelle aren’t you?”
“Y-Yes, please don’t hurt me.” She pleaded.
Masquerade rolled her eyes.
“Let’s, see what the deepest parts of your mind hold.”
“Stop!’
Masquerade stopped to turn to the person that shouted.
“Well, well, well, seems we have both weather girls that go to this school.” Masquerade commented. “What a coincidence.”
Masquerade’s eyes went to the honey blonde weather girl. The akuma had to respect the fierce glare the girl was giving her.
“Aurore don’t.” Mirelle tried to plea.
“Fragrance, shut her up.”
The perfume akuma moved from the wall and sprayed the shy weather girl.”
“No!”
Masquerade felt her bracelet glow, indicating that there was an akuma victim present.”
“So, stormy weather, does this rain on your parade?”
“Don’t call me that!” Aurore spat with disgust.
“That loss still bothers you. How the city voted and you were blown out of the water.”
“I know your trying to get under my skin, it won’t work.” Aurore said. “I’ve dealt with Chloé, and she is way meaner.”
Masquerade kept her smile.
“You’re right, that wouldn’t bother me. The comments by everyone else questioning why you are there would. All of those people wondering what the point of that vote was. So now you have to constantly push harder and harder to prove you deserve to be there with Mirelle. It has become your obsession; the way people perceive you. You need to be the perfect weather girl, with the good looks and the good grades. You can’t let anyone begin to doubt your ability.”
Aurore felt her heart shatter at the comment. It was like this akuma had reached into her chest and pulled her heart out. She could see her biggest fear.
“Shut up! I am good enough! You can’t tell me otherwise.”
Masquerade felt a twinge of annoyance, but a sinister idea came into her head. She touched the perfume bottle charm, her colors shifted to match the color scheme of the Perfume akuma.
“Mirelle, tell her what she needs to here.”
The controlled weather girl felt something intrude in her mind, for a brief second, she winced, before turning into a creepy smile.
“Mirelle?”
Aurore felt her skin crawl as she turned to see her coworker and friend staring at her, a creepy smile on her face.
“You aren’t good enough. You were never good enough. You tried so hard to be charming and cute, but the network thinks your redundant. They were going to get rid of you as soon as they could. I hear they are aiming for the end of the month.” She sing-songed.
Aurore dropped to her knees. Her confidence shattered. She broke down, tears streamed down her face. She covered her hands to cry. To hear her say those awful things, was it true? Was she gone? Was all her work for nothing?
Mirelle’s creepy forced smile stayed, but from the corner of her eye, a single tear began streaming down her cheek. Unbeknown to Aurore, Masquerade was using the controlled teen like a ventriloquist dummy.
“Excellent work.”
Masquerade shifted back to her original colors and grabbed a mask from her dress before she flung it right at the depressed weather girl. She took joy in watching it clamp onto her face like an alien face-hugger. There was a brief moment of struggle, but Aurore was no more. Stormy weather had taken her place. Masquerade laughed as a new charm appeared on her bracelet.
“Finally, some better servants. And these powers are no joke.”
Stormy weather raised her umbrella at Masquerade.
“Oh? Are you trying to resist?”
The akuma’s arm was shaking, but then dropped. Her body becoming inactive, like a toy robot with its batteries removed.
“And there goes the last of your resistance. Now go out and find Ladybug and Chat noir. Lady Wifi and Bubbler haven’t returned.”
Stormy weather nodded and headed out of the classroom.
Masquerade noticed the cowering captured students and took a moment to appreciate the power she wielded. Sure, she would have preferred to have been loved by the school, but being feared is a close second.
Her joy was cut short when something pinged into her mind.
Requirements met for new akuma. Confirm merge?
‘Merge?’
Masquerade tried to figure out what that meant. What was merging.
‘The components for the akuma Oblivio are now available, would you like to merge the two akuma to make new akuma?’
“Oblivio? I don’t remember an akuma by that name?” Masquerade said to herself. “Well, if two people are needed to make it and it is making something new, it must be good. Confirm!”
A new charm appears on her bracelet, one in the shape of a question mark.
"Creating Lady Wifi, Bubbler, Oblivio fusion.'
“I wonder what this will bring.”
_____________________________________________________________
Hawkmoth got felt a sudden shift in the mood of his akuma.
"So Lila found a way to merge akuma with multiple different forms into one. And now she is able to create a completely new akuma. Perhaps Ladybug and Chat noir have finally met there match."
The butterfly villain rubbed his hands smugly as he continued observing. Though part of him wondered if Nathalie was able to secure Adrien safely.

“Okay, these should work.” Chat noir exclaimed as he opened two empty lockers.
Ladybug removed her yo-yo that had tied the two akuma together and shoved the two of them inside each locker before slamming it shut.
“We need something to lock them in for a while.” Ladybug exclaimed as she held the doors closed. The akuma started trying to break free. Moving in any way they could to bust out.
Chat noir looked around, looking for something to shove in front of the lockers.
“Ugh, there is nothing to barricade them with!” Chat noir exclaims.
“Just seal the doors.”
“Right!”
Chat noir put his hand on the lockers where the doors would open, he focused all his strength into his hands and crunched doors by the lock, making it impossible to open in the conventional way.
“That should hold it.” Chat noir exclaimed with relief.
Ladybug slid down the door as resistance finally ceased.
“I think they realized they can’t escape.” Chat noir eased.
Ladybug got up from the floor. They give each other a fist bump on their success.
“Well thankfully that deals with two troublesome akuma. Now we need to get to Lila before we get overrun with them.”
The two heroes quickly leave the locker room.
"By the way, you mentioned earlier I was the second person you wanted to be dancing with. Who is the first?"
Chat noir felt a faint blush on his cheeks.
"How about we talk dances later." Chat noir dodged the question.
Both heroes hurrying down the hall to try and get to Masquerade.
But after they left, the lockers they had left the akumas in started to shake wildly…

“Heads up!” Viperion exclaimed as he pulled Ryuuko out of the Akuma’s range. The vanishing miracular was a far more difficult opponent then both reptilian heroes were expecting. The akuma vanishes just before Ryuuko could retaliate.
“Every time we lose sight of her, she vanishes and I can’t get a clean hit!” Ryuuko grumbles.
Viperion looks around frantically.
“Yes, but I do believe we have some interesting intel. The akuma seems unable to use both her powers at the same time. She needs to turn visible in order to try and attack us with those Tonfa of hers” The snake hero explains
Ryuuko backs up, looking around to see if she can notice anything that could help her locate the sneaky servant.
“And whatever its other power is seems to involve using those Tonfa. Call it a hunch but we can’t let her use it on us.” Ryuuko discussed her instinctual feeling.
“Guard my back, she can’t sneak up on us if our backs are covered.” Viperion instructs. “Her strategy is very straight forward. We just need to wait for an opening”
“Got it.” Ryuuko says just as she notices something from the corner of her eye. “There you are.”
Ryuuko makes a charge at what appeared to be a wall, but her sword contacted Miracular’s tonfa. Forcing her visible again.
Viperion took noticed of the poor stance that Miracular had while blocking Ryuuko. He wasn’t an expert but even he could see that an unexpected hit would knock her off her feet.
He threw his lyre right at the akuma’s knees and made contact, the force causing her to buckle and Ryuuko disarmed the akuma by parrying her tonfa.
Viperion caught the weapons and broke them over his knee.
“Well that takes care of her weapons.”
Ryuuko noticed the akuma tried to get away but she dove tackled her before she could turn visable.
“Nice work. But what are we going to do to stop her from getting in the way?” Viperion inquired.
Ryuuko band the akuma's face repeatedly against the floor in order to break the mask. Sadly there was not even a scratch on it.
"Well this mask is durable. Might need to lock her somewhere."
The snake hero thought for a moment. he remembered back to a previous akuma attack. Chat noir had put him in a locker to be safe. He still remembered the playful wink the cat gave.
"Any ideas Viper piper?" Ryuuko inquired as she maintained her hold on the akuma.
"Huh? Oh right. Why not take to the locker room and throw her into a locker. She isn't super strong so we could easily just toss her in and lock it. Also, what is with the nickname?"
"I heard that giving people nicknames helps endear people to you."
"Okay, well you can keep trying, but I don't play pipes. What other ones do you have."
"... That was the only one I had... Ill try and come up with more as we go."
"Looking forward to it ... Dra-girl"
Ryuuko paused to look at him as she stood up with the akuma.
"Yea... It felt wrong as soon as I said it. Lets just go."
_____________________________________________________________
Chloé had given most of the akuma she encountered the slip. Not from expert hiding of fighting skill, she simply walked passed them. A normal individual would realize how amazing it was that as long as you don’t freak out, the akuma basically don’t notice. But to Chloé, it felt insulting. Did the akuma seriously believe she was not worth chasing?
“Un-be-lievable.” Chloé huffed. “Most of these akuma would have been chasing me like crazy by now.”
She grumbled to herself as she made it to the front entrance, which she realized had been slimed on.
“EWW, they got that nasty slime monster on their side.”
The mayor’s daughter felt a mix of disgust and annoyance. With this door sealed, she would need to get to one of the other exits, on the other side of the school.
“This would be a really good time for Ladybug to show up and let me be Queen bee.” Chloé stated aloud.
But the area she was in was practically empty.
“Figures.” Chloé sighed. “Why do these gross rejects always have to make things so annoying!”
Unfortunately for her, her complaints did attract some attention from a group of Reflekta copies roaming the halls.
“We order you to come with us!” The three reflektas sang in unison. Chloé didn’t know or care if the original was among them.
“How about no.” Chloé scoffed. She pushed one of them down and walked past them. The other two rushed to her to capture her. But Chloé easily knocked both of the reflektas down easy. The servants were not use to walking in heels. They may be controlled, but Chloé can tell when an amateur walking in gaudy heels from a mile away.
“You 3 need to learn how to walk and a lesson on fashion before you can even THINK of taking me hostage.” Chloé flipped her hair and smugly continued walking, as the three reflektas tried to get up.
Hidden from view, hiding in what appeared to be an abandoned janitor’s cleaning cart, an old man popped his head out slightly.
“Ladybug does need all the help she could get right now…But would she be the right choice?”
_____________________________________________________________ (End of Part 36.)
What other akuma will be joining Masquerade's ranks?
Will Ladybug and Chat noir be able to face the old and new threats?
Will Mayura cause more problems or solve em?
Also, what do you think this new akuma fusion will look like?
I would love to see your takes.

Now that Wishmaker is out, how would you rewrite that chaos? The Lukanette need is strong.
"Did anyone else see me?" Marinette asked, her hands shaking as she put on the mask she'd made with her newly-given knitting powers. They were sitting down in a shadowed alley, free from anyone's curious eyes.
"No," Viperion replied, his voice breathless from the revelations he was having rather than the fly to their hiding spot. "Just...just me." He glanced down at his wrist, noting the unticked snake bangle. "...I'm sorry."
"Huh?" Marinette's gaze darted over to him, then to his miraculous. A flicker of understanding passed over her expression as she whispered a small, "Oh."
Guilt tore up his stomach, even knowing deep down that it wasn't his fault - the akuma had surprised them, giving no time for him to use his power - but he'd been brought in to use Second Chance in the first place, and yet...
Marinette's hand fell upon his wrist, making him look up. She smiled at him, her eyes reassuring.
"It's okay," she said, though her voice wavered. "It was only you who saw my face, and even if you'd used Second Chance, you'd still know anyway."
He could tell that she was still processing, but let the subject go for now and smiled back. There were more important matters to attend to.
They must've been on the same wavelength too, as Marinette pulled away and sighed, thinking aloud, "I have to figure a way to be Ladybug again. The akuma could just be destroyed, but I need Miraculous Ladybug to turn everyone back to normal."
Viperion nodded, briefly giving her a once-over. Her power and wings were useful, but unfortunately didn't help them with the current situation.
It was also distractingly cute, and he couldn't fight that way.
"Wishmaker said that he wanted people to live out their childhood dream," he murmured in thought.
Marinette brought a hand to her face, pinching her cheek in contemplation. "Maybe...maybe if I live it out then, I'll change back?" She considered it a moment longer, then groaned and stood up, starting to pace around the small area they were in. "But we don't have that kind of time! Yeah, my earrings aren't here so Shadow Moth can't make a wish, and I could definitely make enough of a living with my new knitting powers, but that would take years, and—"
Suddenly, she stopped and looked over at him, catching Viperion briefly off-guard since he hadn't said anything. Her eyes scanned him up and down, mental gears turning in her head even if he couldn't tell what she was thinking.
"...That's it!" she gasped, hurrying over to him. She knelt down, clasping his hand in both of hers as she rambled, "Maybe I just need to live out my dream to the fullest!"
He blinked in confusion, unsure of where she was going with this.
"Part of my dream was to eventually make a wedding dress and tuxedo for me and my future husband!" she exclaimed. "If I do that, I might turn back into Ladybug!"
"Ah—" He shut his mouth before anything else could come out. He couldn't deny that it was a solid plan, but he wanted to tread carefully given his feelings, not wanting to make her feel awkward. "That's a great idea." He tried to grin reassuringly, though it came off a little crooked. "Should I go find Adrien?"
"What?" She shook her head. "No, it has to be you!"
He gaped, his heart doing confused flips in his chest. "Why?"
"The guy I always dreamed of marrying when I was little," she began, eyes practically sparkling, "he was exactly like you!"
— — — — —
Marinette hadn't exactly caught onto what she'd said until it already left her mouth, but the way Viperion's face turned red had definitely given it away. Things had gone quiet after the fact, with him sitting a couple meters away while she knitted away at the tuxedo; the tuxedo for him.
She found herself blushing faintly at the thought and immediately forced it down, reminding herself that she didn't love Luka, but Adrien. They were made for each other, like everyone said, and she—
She closed her eyes and took in a steady breath, knowing that she was getting off track. Things were complicated enough with all her thoughts and fears about the future, especially now that Viperion knew her identity.
Though, strangely enough, she didn't feel as nervous about it as she thought she would've.
Her gaze darted over to Viperion, who was keeping lookout and patiently waiting for her to finish with her knitting. He thankfully didn't seem closed off from her at all, and it just served as a reminder as to how mature he was.
Without thinking, she found herself speaking up. "M...my parents..."
He looked over at her, his senses still apparently tuned for her despite his keeping watch. She averted her gaze to the knitting needles working their literal magic into the tuxedo.
"We saw a lot of movies where the girl gets the prince in the end, so they made sure to teach me that love wasn't about money or power or fame or anything like that." She bit her bottom lip, Adrien briefly flashing to mind. "So, I imagined me as the knitting fairy, and I'd make clothes for the whole world until I found him." She peeked up at him. "Someone who wouldn't laugh when I fell on my face. Someone who'd be there for me and think of me first. Someone who wouldn't scold me for everything I did or make me feel bad for it. Someone who'd see more than just clumsy, nervous Marinette."
As much as it hurt to admit, the description didn't fit Adrien. Unless they found each other by coincidence - something that actually happened today, oddly enough - he didn't go out of his way to spend time with her; it was her putting in the effort.
"And..." She trailed off momentarily, lost in her thoughts. "after we fell in love, I'd give up my powers and live happily ever after with him, because we didn't need powers to be happy and it wasn't my powers he fell in love with in the first place."
She'd finished the tuxedo at that point, courtesy of her knitting powers, but her hands dropped to her lap afterward, not making any further movements as her thoughts took over.
Out of the corner of her vision, she saw Viperion take a quick look outside the alley, then get up to move over to her. He sat next to her, picking up one of her hands and letting it rest in his palm.
"I think your dream is really beautiful," he told her gently.
She scoffed, blushing in embarrassment at what must've been fake praise. "Chat made fun of me wanting to be the knitting fairy."
"He was wrong," he retorted immediately. "Your dream might not be realistic, but that doesn't make it any less nice, and there's nothing wrong with dreaming of the perfect guy."
She met his gaze, the softness in them having not lessened even since their break-up, and found the strength to start working on the dress. Being with Luka - dating or otherwise - had always been so easy, excluding all the factors outside of just them being them. She could vaguely imagine her younger self clinging to Luka, claiming him as hers and insisting that he marry her when they grew up.
But things weren't that easy. Nothing was. Marinette had spent her whole life fighting for what she wanted, needing to prove herself to people in order to be accepted.
Fighting for years to smile against Chloe's bullying, because no one would do anything about it. Fighting to be acknowledged by her parents as someone who could do things and didn't need their protection. Fighting against herself to be the one who didn't make all the mistakes or have to be the one to apologize in the end.
After becoming Ladybug, her future became even cloudier and the fighting continued. Waking up in the morning was even harder thanks to late-night patrols, getting through tests seemed impossible due to having less time for studying, and even maintaining a romantic relationship carried the struggle of not being able to tell them her identity.
Marinette stared at the shimmering pink and white fabric beneath her fingertips, it shaping and forming to her will. The occasional sparkle or flash from a beam of sunlight that happened to shine through reminded her of the day at the TV station, where Luka had confessed and she could see only him for just a moment.
"I'm sorry."
Viperion hummed in confusion, raising a brow at her.
"I made everything complicated for you—us," she explained. "All the time, ever since we met. I even got you akumatized, twice."
"Twi—" He blinked rapidly, then leaned closer. His hand came in contact with her cheek as he directed her gaze back to him. "You mean Silencer? How was that your fault?"
"I challenged Bob Roth, and when he grabbed me, you got upset. It pushed you over to the edge."
"You were defending me and my music," he argued, a sternness in his tone that wasn't there before as he put his hand to his chest, "and my emotions are my own. I'm the one who gave into Hawk Moth, not you."
"But..." She sighed, conflicted. "Even later, I kept my identity from you when we were dating. I made us both miserable because of it. I was so upset that I ended up yelling at my friends and they all got akumatized, and then I went and gave my identity to Alya anyway."
His eyes widened for a fraction of a second, though he quickly schooled his expression for reasons she didn't know. His gaze strayed momentarily before he looked back at her, asking, "Would you be upset at me for feeling happy for a moment, knowing that you were just as miserable as I was?"
"W-what?" She shook her head; if anything, knowing that he'd also been miserable made her happy as well, probably in the same way as it was for him. It meant that they both cared about it. "No! Not at all!"
"Then I don't blame you for your emotions either."
She pouted at him, but he merely smiled in response. She knew this wasn't a matter he was going to budge on, but it was difficult for her to understand when she was so commonly blamed for things. That was Luka though, she supposed, always forgiving and able to see through her faults.
She remembered her dream husband again and tried to act like her full focus was on the dress so as to not give her thoughts away. She'd only drawn the unnamed man once or twice, and it was just occurring to her that he had black hair and blue eyes as well. Having not understood the concept of kids looking like their parents in their own way at the time, the child version of her had thought it'd be "fair," because then their children would look like both of them no matter what. It was strange, just how much the "simple" version of her love ideals lined up with the boy sitting in front of her now, even with his temporarily green eyes.
Friendship had become something very precious to her ever since the day she'd gotten her miraculous, maybe even more than love itself. Despite the complications and their brief time dating, she was friends with Luka above all else. No matter what happened in regards to the romantic aspects of their relationship, their friendship remained unchanged, like they really would be friends even if they had the worst break-up in the history of Paris. It was comfortable, to the point where she felt embarrassed for ever avoiding him in the first place.
She was reminded yet again of another stark contrast with Adrien. She hadn't been scared of starting anything with Luka, yet Adrien was a constant cloud of dread above her head, the fear of being rejected or being made fun of holding her back from doing what she wanted.
If her child self could see her now, she'd be confused. Marinette could hear her now, asking why her love - or at least, what she believed to be love - caused her so much stress. That was never what she'd wanted; in fact, it had been the exact opposite. Crushing on Adrien had done nothing but humiliate her, the little girl inside her covering her eyes from the sight. Her time with Luka, on the other hand...
"It looks beautiful."
Marinette jerked her head up to see Viperion's approving gaze, then looked down to the wedding dress in her lap. It was finished, pink with flashes of white and blacks; exactly the kind of dress she would've wanted when she was younger, though obviously with an older touch.
"Thank you," she hurried to say when she realized that she hadn't responded to him. He chuckled in reply, though it was good-natured.
He reached for the tuxedo she'd set aside, but stopped halfway as if realizing something. He looked to her, then the dress, then back to her, asking carefully, "Do you want me to keep watch while we put these on?"
It took her a moment to realize what he meant; that he - wearing a bodysuit - could easily slip on the clothes over it, but she didn't have that sort of luxury due to her dress. She managed to summon enough of her inner Ladybug to focus on the importance of the task over the potential embarrassment, giving him an appreciative nod.
She trusted him not to look.
As she went to the darkest parts of the alley to change, Viperion heading in the opposite direction, her mind drifted back to the past again. The little journey there, even if it'd been unwilling on her part courtesy of the akuma, had been a nice change from constantly worrying over her future. As important as it was to focus on what she wanted to do and plan accordingly, the past was equally as important. It shaped her into who she was now and offered insight on herself that she couldn't have gotten otherwise.
"...Lu—I mean, Viperion?" she called just as she finished putting on the wedding dress.
"Yeah?"
She turned to face him, then giggled when noticing that he still had his back turned to her. "You can look now."
He hesitated, then slowly shifted to face her. He was mostly dressed, but was in the process of buttoning up the tuxedo, his hands fumbling with one of the buttons as he took her in.
She approached, gently brushing his hands aside as she started taking care of the few remaining buttons. Not wanting to delay talking to him like before, she figured now was the best time as any to say what was on her mind.
"I still don't know what I want for my future. I feel like a lot of doors are opening and closing every day, and whenever I want to try one, there just ends up being more doors, or it's already closed when I get there. There are too many possibilities and I keep being afraid that I'll trip on the one I really want to go to." Her gaze left the button she was holding so she could meet his eyes. "I just know that I really want you to be there for all of it... i-if that's what you want." Wanting to make sure instead of presuming like she tended to do, she asked cautiously, "Do you?"
His face didn't show a visible reaction, but she heard the slight sound of him swallowing, synced up with a single blink. Afterward, he absolutely beamed at her, the smile more blinding than the light being cast against his back.
"I do," he replied,
In time with his words, the final button was slipped into place. Marinette felt a warm sensation run through her body, starting from her feet and then making her shudder as it moved its way up to her head. Her body was turning white, just as before when Wishmaker first shot her, though Viperion's tuxedo had joined as well.
There was a flash between them, and she found herself back as normal, wingless Marinette when it faded.
Viperion, now lacking what she'd made for him, still looked just as happy to see her.
"I-I did it!" she gasped, genuinely surprised that it worked. "We did it!"
She threw her hands up in the air in celebration, but snapped back to reality as she remembered that she still needed to turn back into Ladybug and take care of Wishmaker. She opened her purse, easing as she saw Tikki already munching away on a macaron.
"Marinette?"
She looked back up at Viperion, noticing that he still had something to say. "Yes?"
"I might not be able to make enough sense of your inner music to tell you what you'll want, but I don't think you have anything to worry about. I know that whatever you decide to do is going to be as extraordinary as you are."
She stifled a squeak, blushing at the sudden compliment and thankful that Tikki was still chewing the last bits of the macaron. "A-ah, thank you. You too—with the extraordinary thing, not your inner music, because I can't hear that even though I'm sure it's really amazing!"
Had it been anyone else, she might've prayed for a hole to swallow her, but it was impossible to feel weird when he smiled at her the way he did.
Once Tikki had gotten her fill, Marinette transformed and they began to leave the alley together, though Ladybug stopped partway as she remembered something; something she'd done many times before and felt it time to get back to doing.
Viperion raised a brow at her sudden stopping, then stiffened when she leaned towards him and kissed his cheek. She flashed him a smile, noting silently that she missed these little exchanges between them, then leaped away to head back to where Wishmaker was likely to be. Viperion followed suit, but a split second behind his usual speed.
She was sure he'd be smiling back if she looked, but she didn't have to; they were connected, maybe not by some sort of magic thread or cosmic force, but by them and the relationship she hoped that they would continue to build in the future.
And whenever they got back to the fight, just in time to see Chat Noir allow himself to be hit by Wishmaker's attack, a few more doors would close and her future would start to look a little different than what she'd considered that morning.
Not necessarily in a bad way either.

Behind enemy lines
Maribat: Robibug, Daminette, Robinette, Damibug
Part 10
“I... uh... have to make a video... for my friend’s blog! Yeah! You know, Ladyblog! Haha!” She obviously lied.
“Let’s say I believe you.” He said. ‘Which I don’t’ was left unspoken. “How did you enter this roof, when the entrance is locked from inside the building.”
He didn’t actually know that, but her reaction would tell him if she did. And as much as Damian preferred to be strait forward, sometimes it was good to know how to bluff.
“I uhh... was too close to the akuma. So... uhh... Ladybug came to rescue me from that fire balls... And then... uhh... she left me here for safety reasons...”
So she did use some devise to get here. Though Damian saw Ladybug leaping towards the akuma on his way here a bit ahead if him, but Marinette’s tone gave out a lie.
And Ladybug was probably away to get some help after seeing the akuma. There wasn’t much she could do with her yoyo against this one.
Robin called her lie, saying Ladybug wouldn’t leave her here.
“I... uhh... asked her for it? And her powers would probably bring me back down anyway after the fight, so...” Marinette replied.
Did she even believe her own lies? Maybe she was in this gang of gangsters only recently and there was a chance to rehabilitate her? — Damian thought, surprised with what hope he thought about it. It shouldn't bother him that much!
But in any case, as long as she was an enemy and she was here, it meant that Shadow Math needed her to help that akuma somehow. So he needed to get her out of here in order to stop what ever she was doing.
“Right.” He said, not hiding his doubts. “Did you make your video then?”
“Sure!” Marinette exclaimed, shaking her phone. “All done!”
“Then you have to leave.” He said firmly. “I’m not gonna leave a civilian near the fight.”
But when he pulled her to him to bring down from the building, it all started again. She wrapped her arms around Damian’s neck, and his heart treacherously began to beat faster in response.
Her closeness was hard to ignore! Only half of his concentration was on his actions, because another half was working hard on not letting Marinette see that her influence was working on him.
So this pheromone, or whatever it was, was probably sprayed on her skin or hair, or somewhere, and was active when a person was close to her to confuse them.
But if his calculations were right, she didn’t know that he was Damian! It meant that Marinette affected not only him, but everyone, so that no one interfered with her plans.
A familiar feeling, which of course was only similar to jealousy and not jealousy itself, took possession of his mind for a moment on the idea of someone else loosing their mind next to her the way he did, but Damian threw these thoughts away quickly.
This was crazy! He must think about how to prevent her from influencing him, and not be jealous of those who fall at her feet! Which he wasn’t! Not jealous, and definitely not falling at her feet!
Damn it! His brothers would kill to hear his thoughts now...
“Put this on.” He commanded, giving her a helmet.
Marinette looked like she didn’t want to do as he said, but she probably didn’t want to blow her cover, especially that she said that she already made her video. So she took it and let him help her get on a motorcycle.
“You better hold on.” He warned, trying to sound harder than he felt right now, still being influenced by her seducing powers.
He could resist her! Damian had been trained for this for years! He just needed to focus. It was necessary to take her away so that she wouldn’t get onto this roof again to do her villainous deeds.
When they were moving through the city, Marinette clung to him so tightly, as if she was really scared. And Damian forgot that she was an enemy again.
He was seized by the desire to protect her, to take care of her. He even made a few deliberately sharp turns to provoke her to tuck into him tighter, grabbing his waist with her thin hands.
The feeling of her closeness made Damian feel more of a hero than when he struck a victorious blow to his most powerful opponents. Just because she snuggled up to him, waiting for protection...
But it doesn't work like this in real life! One person cannot turn the whole experience of your previous life upside down! No matter how right it felt, Damian knew it was a hoax! It's just her effect again powders his brain.
Damian stopped in front of the bakery, and Marinette jumped away quickly.
“How do you know where I leave?” She asked... surprised? Impressed?
“My job is to know.” He couldn’t suppress a smirk from the thought that he impressed her.
But he quickly came to his senses and rushed back to akuma.
Ladybug and Carapace arrived soon ofter him.
When Robin saw the turtle-themed hero, Ladybug’s plan became clear to him. He took up a strategic position taking his distance behind the enemy, waiting for the other heroes to attack from the front, defending themselves with Carapace’s shield and distracting akuma’s attention.
Robin waited while they worked their way through the falling lava-balls, forcing the akuma to shoot at them, aiming at the shield. Then he shot the rope, tying akuma’s hands, and threw the batarang at the flamethrower. Lava-shooter?
It broke and the dark butterfly flew out. And while Ladybug was catching it, Robin went to his way back too school.
His job there was done.
*
Robin leaned against the half-open window, making sure that those in the room didn’t see him.
Marinette’s presence near Akuma battle made him decide to investigate the situation more attentively. And it didn’t have anything to do with the fact, that he was thinking about Marinette more times then it was absolutely necessary. She was his main link to Shadow Math for now after all, so this was the reason for his... close attention to her!
He scanned all the walls of the bakery and, finding no signs of the presence of external surveillance cameras, crept up to the window of Marinette’s bedroom to get some information on her involvement.
“So, when will you finally tell me about this new guy, Damian?” He heard instead, easily recognizing the journalist’s voice from a lot of the reports he saw.
“What about him?” Marinette asked back evasively.
Damian could hear that she was hiding something. Would she tell her friend about what methods she was using against him? That would be a good thing for him — easier to find a remedy.
“Oh, don’t give me those innocent eyes!” Alya exclaimed. “I saw you blushing.”
“I... wasn’t...” Marinette protested weakly. Oh, she was playing her role well! — Damian thought.
“Mari, I know you too well, girl!” The journalist insisted. “You like him, don’t you?”
Damian swallowed and felt the warmth spreading in his chest on the idea. He didn’t notice how he held his breath, waiting for her answer.
“No, I don’t...” Marinette’s voice didn’t sound confident, Damian noticed with a kind of desperate hope, unfamiliar to him before. “He just caught me when Chloe pushed me... that’s all...”
“And you are sure that his green eyes — just the way you like — don’t have anything to do with it?” Alya teased.
“I... That would be too soon, Alya...” Marinette sighed. “Adrien is just left, and I... with everything that happens, I don’t think I have time for a romance anyway.”
“I noticed you removed Adrien’s schedule and all the rest.” Her friend said.
Damian tensed. Here we go, evidence, he thought. So she is some sort of coordinator in their gang, she had Shadow Math’s son schedule. Of what? Obviously something akuma-related.
Why does she deny everything about Damian though? Maybe it means her friend is not aware of all of her affaires.
“I guess you’re right.” Alya said. “And what about Robin?”
“What does he have to do with this?” Marinette barked.
“Not with this of course!” The journalist replied. “I mean, he showed himself very heroic recently.”
“I know.” Marinette sighed again. “But I think it might make him even more dangerous for us.” Her voice became more restless. “Today he saw me next to the akuma, and maybe even heard me talking to Tikki. We should think about how to deal with the situation. I don’t want him snicking around anymore.”
Damian felt a heaviness in his chest from the realization of his own righteousness.
So, he WAS right about her cooperation with Shadow Math! All signs pointed at it.
And Tikki? What kind of a code name was that?!
But anyway, she wanted him out of the picture. That was exactly what he expected to confirm coming here!
Why then it felt as if his heart was squeezing painfully now that he knew for sure that they were enemies? Probably the way she manipulated people was still working at a distance of several meters, or the effect was staying for some time.
In any case, Damian had heard enough for today. He will decide what to do with this information later.

Chat Noir x Reader Part 2
Tumblr media
I didn't bother to fight back, it was almost like Chat telling me that he hated me drained me of all of the energy I had and more. I saw as the Akuma delicately landed on my collar. the collar never was a part of the main costume but instead, it was added by me because I liked the look of it.
the Akuma vanished and Hawk Moth's voice filled my head.
"Dark Fang, I am hawkmoth. I will grant you the power to make the world that had wronged you countless times your own playground."
I felt the clothing that I wore disappear into new tight clothing. my tube top turned into a strapless bra with a ribcage design.  a corset pinched my sides gently and was blended into a short puffy black skirt. I had no shoes only thigh-high socks. and my hair was no longer long and puffy but instead a short bob. the leather band of the collar was turned into just a string that held a now white metal disk with the name, 'Togo' engraved on the back. I touched my hair, feeling a different sensation on my scalp, there were now soft ears atop my hair.
it was now that I took in what Hawkmoth said. "the world that had wronged you countless times" he was right. I was nothing but good to other people and all I got was nothing. the world took my family away from me, the world took Chat away from me, the world made me who I am but the world hates who I am.
I stand up, rain and hail falling harder that it starts to break car windows. the world needs to start over again to fix what has been down. people have ruined the world, humans have stained the world with the worst things imaginable. everyone except Adrien. Adrien did no wrong. he doesn't deserve to be punished. I swiftly make my way to Adrien's home. jumping up to a long-forgotten open window. I run through the halls till I reach Adrien's all too familiar door.
I open it to see him with his hands tangled in his blonde locks as he sat at his desk.
"Adrien," I spoke up, causing him to shoot up from his original position at his desk.
"Togo? what are you doing here?"
"I'm not Togo, I'm Dark Fang now."
"You're akumatized?!" his eyes widened.
"Mmmm." I hummed taking my seat at his bed. "And you know what? it's you're fault." I smiled at him.
"What did I do?"
"You told me to tell that guy that I loved him," I paused to stare at the scared look on his face. "He hates me now, he said that he loves Ladybug too much." I got on all fours on his bed and crawled my way over to him, causing him to back up.
"(Y/N)!?" he pushed the chair in front of him.
"I'm not going to hurt you, Adrien, I'm going to save you."
"I don't need to be saved by a villain." his voice now stern.
"But we could watch the world go back the way it was before!" I started to get angry at him, my voice getting rougher. I mean why would he rather die with all these people who do wrong, than come and stay safe with me.
"I'm not going anywhere with you!"
"Fine, hope you have fun drowning Adrien." I unemotionally said. I blew harsh winds so strong that they broke windows all over the world. rain rushed into the room as I jumped out of his room and onto a nearby building. I watched it from the Montparnasse Tower. thunder was now heard everywhere, and the only source of light for this half of the earth. I sat and watched as the world flooded below me.
I stuck out my hand in front of me and grew a single intense red rose out of it. I picked the flower from my palm and rolled it in between my fingertips.
"Togo! You need to stop this!" I heard Ladybug shout. I increased the wind at her, blowing her off the tower.
"Togo! Don't take it out on her!" I heard Chat shout at me, and his feet running after Ladybug. I looked at the rose then at the now flooded city below me. the rain stops as the sun comes out, the sun evaporates the water below us. the heat is ineffective to me, but when I look at LAdybug and Chat Noir I see that they are sweating so much that they could barely walk at a normal pace.
I raise my hand at them and flick cool air in their direction, I kept the air blowing at them to keep them from dying. they were the only friends I had, even if they did hate me.
"Why are you helping us?" Ladybug asked, swinging her Yo-yo ready to attack in case I did. her lucky charm long forgotten in the corner of the rooftop.
"You are my only friends left, thought we could share this new world."
"We aren't your friends anymore." I looked at Ladybug, then at the chat. his face showed that of regret. he must have known that he was the reason for this right?
"When I don't need you here anymore," venom leaked off of my words. I clenched my fist tight, taking the air away from her. her hands flew up to her neck, her yo-yo falling to the ground. I quickly used my wind to blow it to me. the sounds of her choking on her blood filling lungs were getting annoying but I knew it wouldn't be long before those sounds would stop.
"NOOOOOO!!!!!!!" I heard Chat scream his lungs out, he quickly caught Ladybug's head when she fell. I saw the tears fall down his face. the love of my life was crying over the death of another girl. the love of my life was crying over the death of another girl because of me. I caused those tears. I'm the reason for his pain. the pain he put me through, I am now putting him through.
suddenly I stopped seeing the world in black and white, the good and bad. I saw what I saw before, shades of grey. I had managed to fight off the Akuma with my feeling, I felt tears falling on my face upon seeing chat noir cry and Ladybug dead. the only friends I had besides Adrian and Marinette. I knew I wouldn't have much time left, but I couldn't break my Akuma because then it would go to Chat. I had to try the lucky charm.
I looked in my hand with my blurry vision, it was her yo-yo. I used the yo-yo to try and grab the lucky charm that lays on the other side of the building, I knew I didn't have the time to walk across. the lucky charm got to me. I could only pray that it would work for me too. Ladybug and I both have the power of creation after all.
"Stop! You'll never-" he cut himself off once he saw me. once he saw how broken I was, how I was showing emotion, and how the tears that spilled from my eyes and onto my cheeks were genuine.
"Pray that it works." I stared into his eyes and I knew that once I said that and once he saw the lucky charm in my hands he knew what I was talking about. "My collar, Lucky charm!" I shouted, throwing the object into the air. I saw ladybugs shoot out. the mess I made disappearing.
Black and White.
I saw as ladybugs repaired the beginnings of the new beginning.
"Cataclysm!" I heard from behind me, I turned around to see Chat holding out his hand. he reached out and before I could move he caught my collar. I fell to the ground, suddenly feeling dizzy, while I watched my clothing slowly disappear and turn back to what it was before. I looked around me to see Ladybug and Chat staring at me.
"I'm so sorry, and I know that no matter how much I say it nothing will get any better." my voice was shaky and broke during the sentence.
"It's ok Togo." Ladybug kneeled in front of me.
"Don't call me that, I don't deserve it," I said, standing up, keeping my head hung low.
"Then what do you want us to call you?" I heard Chat say from in front of me.
"You won't be calling me anything kitty." I smiled up at him, "besides I have to go now. Meet you guys at our spot? regular time?" I asked hopefully. they nodded and I fell from the building. my wind gently carrying me down to the ground. I ran to an alley.
"Balto, stop running," I mumbled lowly. I walked back to my flat near the Eiffel Tower. I quickly grabbed the box that my miraculous came in. "Goodbye friend." I smiled at Balto. a gray wolf kwamii. I slid the bracelet off my wrist and placed it in the box. I left my home, making my way to the spot we always met at, with no intention of meeting them.
~~~~~~~~~~
the walk home felt like decades. I tread up the stairs of the building I lived in. I took out my keys and unlocked my door. I turned on the lights to my empty home. I walked over to my room, wanting nothing more than to sleep.
I pushed open my bedroom door, the lights still on from when I left. but this time something was different. there was an all too familiar black kitty in my room, rummaging around my desk drawers.
"Kitty?" I clearly didn't think of my words carefully.
"Ahh!" his head quickly shot up as he pushed the drawer closed. "Togo, there you are."
"I told you to stop calling me that." I slumped on my bed still facing him. "And how do you know who I am!?" my eyes widened once the situation dawned upon me.
"A little birdy told me who you were." he rubbed the back of his neck. "Anyway, brought something of yours." he sat at my desk chair, placing the box I just got rid of on my desk.
"I returned it."
"And I'm returning it."
"I don't want it."
"Why not?" we were glaring into each other's eyes.
"Did you not see what happened today?"
"We all have those days."
"No one has this kind of day. I was weak and vulnerable. I killed Ladybug!"
"Dark Fang killed Ladybug."
"I am Dark Fang! and it's not like either of you guys want me to be on your team anymore anyway. You hate me and I'm not your guys' friend anymore."
"I didn't mean that." he walked over to me, taking a seat next to me on my bed.
"Sure seemed like you did."
"I was just angry that you were right is all. Ladybug doesn't like me back but I still keep trying no matter how little hope I had. I just hated that you always had that hope, you never once had a bad day. at least that's what I thought."
"it's always been Ladybug and Chat noir. there was never room for me."
"I do like the sound of Chat noir and his two ladies." he wrapped his arm around my shoulders, the touch setting flames to my skin. "Don't you?"
"Only if I can be your only lady," I replied cockily.
"Sure, but would you love me because I'm your best friend or because I'm Chat Noir?"
