and when i return, you will carry out my prophecy, son of NVIDIA.
some new lore for origins!Tom cause something about archetypes of characters born and tethered to a fated purpose theyve been unaware growing up- that ultimately contradicts everything they love and care about is really just *chefs kiss*

heyyy coolcat! my brain keeps thinking about capsize & tom and ianite & tom. there’s something strategic about how both of them go about interacting with tom.
when ianite says ‘heroes’ (plural), I personally never take it to mean that she’s including tom in that. but then she’ll single him out; be it calling him pathetic for dying by his own blade, or that she doesn’t care what happens to his god, puny even after he killed dianite. when capsize dies however, ianite calls him hero, calls him green man, appeals to him through his connection with capsize. while this could characterize her as manipulative, I think it also shows how intelligent she is.
While I do take capsize to have been more genuine in her approach to tom, she too is smart for having put her focus in cultivating a positive relationship with him. Even if she didn’t realize just how important he would be in all of that, even if she hadn’t gotten to witness the ending to her mission. I take her to be more genuine, because when she gifted him his fish back she had no idea that he was the literal key to getting ianite’s heart back.
Okay yes, I agree with this so hard. There's something so interesting about the way that interactions work with Tom & Ianite and Tom & Capsize.
Because like Ianite clearly doesn't like Tom very much. Like it's fully reasonable that she wouldn't since he's the champion of the brother that imprisoned her and stole her heart so there was always going to be dislike/uneasiness there (though still calling him puny after he kills Dianite I think is a bit much). And obviously the dislike is very much mutual since Tom clearly wants to fight her and is very much loyal to Dianite. So it makes sense that she is typically insulting him. Like you're very much right, I tend to feel with Ianite it's The Heroes + Tom.
Except for the meeting after Capsize is killed by Furia. For the first time Ianite calls Tom a hero and doesn't insult him, because Tom is actually willing to help when it comes to Capsize. And I'm absolutely sure Ianite knows that and knows she can get him on side. And yes I agree that this is more intelligent than manipulative. Though, there definitely is a way to read this as Ianite being purely manipulative, if you read her words as about being unable to save Capsize without leaving her unable to recognise them all as meaning Capsize would've become ended up a zombie there and Ianite always knew they would not be able to save her.
Now, I don't really subscribe to this headcanon, because I think Ianite genuinely thought she could save Capsize. I don't think she would have tried reviving her in the finale if she knew she couldn't, because regardless of what the heroes wish, Capsize was her friend and she wouldn't make her suffer needlessly. I mostly just wanted to say that there is a possible reading of Ianite saying that there's hope to save her to try and get Tom on side.
And also I bring it up because in my own personal headcanons, Ianite does lie a bit about Capsize's state here, though out of kindness rather than trying to manipulate them. As, within the universe of my post timeline, Capsize is already dead at this point (so she can't hear her crying) and was not being kept in the same place as she is, but both the lies are in an attempt to spare them from the knowledge that they could've rescued Capsize if they hadn't come to see her. In general, I do think Ianite can kinda manipulate via omitting information (both here and later with the alts), I think she does it out of genuinely wanting to stop more hurt that would otherwise be inflicted.
And off that very long discussion/ramble and onto Tom & Capsize: I absolutely agree that Capsize had a more genuine approach than Ianite. She does clearly know what she's doing in becoming friends with Dianite's champion, trying to get him on side in order to get him to help save Ianite rather than hinder as Dianite would likely prefer. But seeing how Capsize interacts with Jordan, there is no way she would've been so nice to Tom if she didn't genuinely like him. Regardless of her original intentions, Capsize sees Tom as her friend and as one of the heroes.
Their interactions are so genuinely nice and like, and it kinda sucks that Tom agrees to go save Ianite so he can save Capsize. He ends up killing his own god. He helps save Ianite. And the person he originally wanted to help dies anyway. Like there's something really narratively unsatisfactory about the whole situation because Tom gives up the most and gets nothing back? (Like yes he technically becomes a god, but nothing comes of that in canon.)

based on a very long tangent discussion with @baronetcoins: swap nvidia from mianite with the binary monster in qsmp. give chayanne the nvidia sword. and then watch him unleash hell.

You know, I’m not very far in on my path to catch up with Phil’s qsmp series (only his third stream) but I’m already a big fan of him squaring up with the binary code dude and hope that that keeps up lmao
Also I don’t know if any mianite fans are still out there (or in this fandom!) but like why is this just giving me straight up nvidia vibes?? Like nvidia wasn’t even like an actual npc on mianite but oh boy! I also personally think that binary guy should also get a sword that crashes peoples games when he hits them, you know, as a treat ;)

a brief history of the starborne kingdoms
as detailed by Ianitian court historian Montpellier J. Conway
((Because of how the principle of relative universes works in my SMP Multiverse headcanon, most of it reflects relationships and characters in Mianite S2, but isn't exactly the same. It doesn't require knowledge of it ofc aside from some of the associations with the names C:
ALL OF THIS IS A HEADCANON (more an AU probably, unless you change the names). feel free to adapt or work elements into your work, but please give credit if you do <3))
------------------------------------------------------
The Aether stars. a vast realm worlds above the overworld, bordering on the walls that separate one SMP timeline dimension from the others, kingdoms of voidwalkers, starbornes and other galactic celestial inhabit the endless sky. And with them come a rich history, that despite their pacifist ways might imply, one full of betrayal, war, alliance and most of all, power.
Botan's Kingdom
Prior to Dianite's rule over the Aether Stars, the kingdom we now know as his once belonged to his father, one of the first red starborne, King Botan, and his late wife, Queen Akemi. The two had three children- Mianite, Dianite and Ianite- and of the three, the middle child Dianite was born red, indiciating him as the crown prince.
Botan's kingdom would be unrecognizable to starborne of this era, as the era of this kingdom is most commonly marked as an era of violence. Botan was known for his ruthlessness in favor of keeping his starfolk safe, and often turned to permadeathing stars through a destabilization of their central cores, in order to rid of unfavorable allies rather than relying on starborne's tendency toward pacifism and diplomacy.
Due to the nature of this practice of this Botan found an ally in King Ullskae, of Vhidhea.
Kingdom of Vhidhea
Used to describe a system neighboring the homeplanet, Ullskae's kingdom encompassed the water planet of Vhidhea itself as well as the surrounding resource rich Ruxomar system, consisting of such planets as Katisi and Dagrun.
Unlike your typical nebula-like starbornes, Vhidheans have a tendency to appear more gelatinous in structure, their bodies composed of a type of psuedo-plasma that allows them to change form, pass through the forms of other celestial beings, and corrupt to collapse stars- a natural ability they possessed and passed knowledge of onto Botan.
For those on the main planet, this variety of starborne become known as moonbornes, for the most powerful of Vhideans (such as Ullskae and his daughter Khalani) became able to control the forces of gravity as well- be it tides of a celestial ocean, or an added form of control to pull apart starforms on top of their corruptive abilities.
Alike to Botan, Ullskae ruled the his kingdom alongside his council with an iron fist, the warlord royals of Vhidhea often perceived as gods, as he at the time possessed the greatest power and resources across the galactic aether. His daughter Khailani and her significant other at the time, a corrupted starborne by the name of Anphidhea, had an infamous reputation as the head of Ullskae's army for keeping their citizens in line.
Eventually, tensions began to rise in the Ruxomar system that set off a series of events which ultimately led to the downfall of Vhidhea.
Uprising Era and The Catalyst
Under the leadership of a pair of weapons developers from Dagrun and their ragtag army of starbornes, the NVIDIA Uprising takes place soon after Dianite's coronation as crown prince. Weary of Ullskae's rule, Ruxomar soon sought to drive the kingdom of Vhidhea out of the system, and seek independence as their own sector of the Aether.
After quickly being overwhelmed by Khalani and the Vhidhean army, the leaders of the rebellion turned to Prince Dianite for aid. Because Botan was in close allyship with Ullskae, it would have been unfavorable to him to take the side of the rebels against Ullskae. A long debate was had behind closed doors until a compromise was reached. Botan and his army would not get involved, but Dianite and his siblings were allowed to assist with minimal resources, as Botan saw the potential in Ruxomar possibly becoming under his control if his son could win the war for them.
As the uprising continued, the losses began to outweigh the cost of fighting to keep Ruxomar, and Khalani soon convinced her father to withdraw control of Dagrun. However before a treaty could be signed, a hooded assassin slays Ullskae, permadeathing him by shattering his core in their fist- leading Khailani to rise to the throne. Her first act was naming Ruxomar an ally and independent sister kingdom.
Having spent most of her time in the army and seeing the error in the violence of starborne, Khai sought to usher in an era of diplomacy and pacifism- a belief that greatly conflicted with that of Anphidhea and the Vhidheans who had still believed in Ullskae's principles of rule.
Disagreement between Khai and Anphidhea (who as her then fiance sat in the place of a king) over several years escalated into the Vhidean Catalyst, in which Anphidhea and his supporters staged a coup and pushed Khailani off her throne and homeplanet, evacuating many starbornes to the moon planet of Urulu- ultimately tearing the kingdom in two.
Under the direction of Anphidhea's chief advisor Declan and former general of the Vhidhean army, Bellinite (distantly related to Dianite's family), a psychological war was waged between the two factions, with small fights breaking out led by Bellinite from Khai's side.
Anphidhea, unbothered by Khailani's futile attempts to regain her kingdom and not interested in startin an all out civil war, set his sights on something bigger. He believed if had Ullskae had been more driven, Vhidhea could have had control over not just Ruxomar- but the entire Aether. His first step? Overtaking Botan's Kingdom.
Botan growing old and close to a permanent supernova, was not interested in getting involved in another war, but was willing to assist Khailani in ridding of Anphidhea knowing his kingdom was at risk as well, and together they would have enough power to take on the kingdom dubbed "NVIDIA". Responsibility falls onto Dianite's shoulders as Botan insists a binding marriage ritual take place between him and Khailani to seal their alliance, much to Dianite's dismay, considering he was already in a secret relationship and that he had been her enemy during the uprising.
However, after realizing an apotolesmic connection existed between the two, Dianite agreed to the union, and the two agreed to a platonic marriage, where they'd still be able to see other folk. Following a brief ceremony, preparations are made to strike, and on the anniversary of the Uprising, Dianite, Khailani and his forces storm Vhidhea. The long and ferocious battle ended with Dianite and Khai opening a minor rift that locked Anphidhea away in a pocket void.
As the dust settled, a majority of Anphidhea's forces dispersed into the greater Aether, NVIDIA becoming more of a mild nuisance than anything else for years, withsome reconvening into the force we know today as the DMCA Agency, for the purpose of bringing their king back to them. The planet of Vhidhea was re-inhabited and rebuilt following Anphidhea's exile, but the castle grounds fell into a state of disrepair and now lays a wasteland.
And with Botan's grandiose death, Dianite and Khailani laid their weapons to rest and rose to the throne as the King and Queen to bring forth the era of starborne we are familiar with, and soon after bringing to light Dianite's son- Jordan Sparklez- as the Prince of all starborne. Mianite and Ianite, and Ia's husband Spark took Dianite's side as high nobles in charge of assisting with infrastructure and rebuilding the parts of the Aether, and Mot, a once exiled royal guardsman, took over as Dianite's chief advisor.
The story from then on as the prince grows up till now is far too long to share at this time, but holds truths that will reveal itself in good time. Rumor has it Anphidhea escaped his pocket void, but where he is now remains unknown. And what happens next, again, only time will tell.

UR A MIANITE FAN!?!? Idk how I didn't realize this but I would love 2 hear ur thoughts if u wanna share any......
I AM!!!!! you didn't realize bc it just never really came up! i have a deep but casual love for it haha
I could probably talk abt it all day but i shan't. first of all, didn't start watching until it "ended", and by the time i found Sparklez vids on it, the vods were gone which i mourn every single day. But still, I watched his cut down videos first bc they were easier to digest for teen me and man i loved it. I'm really tempted to watch Syn's pov but im not sure (I love tucker but idk i cant get into his solo pov)
It was my first introduction to smps and i love how small and close the group was. I love big smps dont get me wrong but there was something comfy abt less than 20 people goofing around. It was funny watching the laws slowly start being writing bc of the shit they did lmao (but god do i love the purges- étoiles you would have loved them)
Ianite is a total babe and god bless jordan for coming in and oc-ing his own god hell yeah, i don't think the series would have turned out the way it did if he didn't do that.
some things i hold dearly to my chest and think about all day: "WOAWOAWOA- PROBLEMS-", the purge, such cute omg, dine at nite (literally i love it so much), noodleshoots (i name all my crossbows this thank you nadeshot), the wizards, when furria stopped being a feared villian and just became Some Dude for a few streams, the strip club, the lava wall and trap, the taint, the BUILDS, NVIDIA!!!!!, the chicken prank, omg there's so many i'm missing-
I will say, I rewatch the first season much more than the second mainly bc the amount of mods they added kind of turned me away back then, but i am a changed person and i plan to watch it more thoroughly. I really love the switch of roles between dianite and mianite too, felt right. I love the third season soooo much too, totally a standout in my book ;)
and yeah i was a dirty, dirty syndisparklez shipper (still am honestly- i think it's funny)
So! i love mianite a whoooooooole lot :D
Go watch it if anyone hasn't! CaptianSparklez's vids on it are cut down but missing a lot of context for some stuff (still a great watch), but I heard good things abt SynHD's vods! Idk how much Firefoxx streamed but I know she has vods too and she was a breath of fresh air with all the guys lol (the jaiden of her time)

sometimes i forget how wild the mianite era was so. here are some favourites since we're talking about mianite tonight! this is mianite propaganda btw. you should watch it.
tom mistaking the annie song "hard knock life" for "hard butt life" and somehow seeing nothing wrong with this. "hard butt life" becoming a bit which eventually resulted in the four of them getting lifetime supplies of charmin toilet paper
jordan having masses of signs written in lawyer-speak outside his vault because people kept coming up with ways to glitch into it. i promise you this server had NO respect for "lore" or "morals"
that one purge where the quartzhouse became completely overrun by mobs and tom spent like 20 minutes dying over and over and over
that other purge where one of the wizards was messing around and killed another, so he technically was on the scoreboard, came last because he only got one kill and was then punished for it
that one picture of tucker with the chipped tooth that was just... everywhere you looked
speaking of that pic of tucker: mianite purge highlights my beloved over-edited absolute messes of videos
jordan's ever-expanding list of nicknames: glitter lap, sparkly dick, sparkly pants, et cetera
repeatedly doing meth and cocaine and every other hard drug imaginable in minecraft on stream. bolded for emphasis captainsparklez did not do actual meth on stream
#SteveFor1D, when zayn had just left one direction and the 1D fandom was incredibly confused and/or angry about who the hell steve was and why there was a minecraft farmer man in the tag
jordan singlehandedly spurring on the plot because he couldn't choose a god and made his own OC instead. dare i say this was the predecessor to wilbur just really really wanting to do breaking bad/hamilton roleplay
them having so many issues with nvidia graphics cards that seven years later i still cannot ever see nvidia without laughing
that time tom spawned a mini me which he decided was his son jeffrey... jeffry.. however he spelled it, and promptly forgot his son's name every time he was mentioned. then the others decided to kidnap jeffrey and ended up having to rename him, causing jeffrey's skin to change into a male stripper skin. that sure was a thing that happened
everything mot screziato had going on

"From the wizards who harness the power of stars to create something from nothing, to sentient asteroids capable of conjuring fires that would burn even the strongest of people, there are many beings which reside in the stars who hold many secrets. It's just up to how deep into space you're willing to gaze."
these were originally going to be standalone pieces but i realized. I'm gonna tease starborne kingdom of dianite stuff with this instead 👀

this might be too niche but does anyone remember on mianite how they would have the purge every week or so where they could kill each other and rob bases and how they had rules set up in place where you couldn't break blocks to get into a base and instead they had to make these super neat redstone vaults but eventually they got sick of that and started just digging holes in the ground in random places and storing all of their stuff there. and how the purges had different themes so sometimes they would all be kitted out in full enchanted diamond and sometimes it would be wooden sticks with knockback. and how one purge in specific someones internet was so bad that nvidia had its own kill counter? yeah i remember.
