Rudolph the red nose reindeer... as the pleistocene Stag Moose, Cervalces scotti. He needs not a sleigh or companions, he can plow through the sky and snow allllll on his own.
Jerboa (I super regret making a domestic one instead of a desert one, so might draw a desert one at some point), I'iwi , Sand cat and M;antis shrimp. I hope you all enjoy them! Second batch is almost finished, but I'll wait 'till next week or so in order to post it.
The most challenting one was, of course, the mantis shrimp! I'm very aquainted with crustacean anatomy, but admittedly took several liberties there, a few of them in order to make the critter expressive, and others just to simplify. I wanted to make sure the biramous appendages had an emphasis to them, and I like the work on the antennae, but the walking appendages ended up looking way too much like toes I guess. Still, always worth trying and experimnting.
Just watched that Game Grumps ep where they were playin 102 Dalmatians on PS1 and I love the lil squirrel and her hilarious beehive prank on Jasper that I did a doodle
Forgot to announce this here but the first ten chapters for Drawing For Nothing have been released! For those who missed the last post, this is a free, digital art book for animated films that were either canceled or bombed due to complicated issues.

More chapters are to come. A few highlights in the next installation will be My Peoples and Larrikins.
Also, if anyone wants to help research, feel free to send a DM! We're also working on a new cover that will feature custom artwork of various characters from these movies. If you think you got what it takes to draw in the style of another artist, we would appreciate the help!
if you, like me, are asexual or acearo - I cannot recommend enough “Is Love The Answer?”
It’s a shojo manga by Uta Isaki. The space imagery, the artwork, the lovable characters, the explanation of a sexuality, and the relatability of it all made me cry by page 11.
It feels good to finally get some explicit representation of myself in anime/manga.
being obsessed with utena is so hard bc when someone references a motif that reminds me of it i can't just be like "have u heard of this obscure anime from the 90s about children being sexually abused" that's weird. if i make a reference to king lear and someone doesn't get the reference, that's on them for being ignorant and uncultured. but if i make a reference to utena and they just start blinking, it's not like the onus is on them here. if anything i'm the one who ends up looking like some kind of anime-obsessed freak. a weirdo who keeps snails in her pencil case, or what have you
