Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller (DOS, Take-Two Interactive, 1994)
Battle a fascist theocracy that claims to be able to send criminals to hell. Stars Dennis Hopper and Grace Jones. You can download it here, or download it pre-configured to run on modern versions of Windows here.
having a hyperfixation on games with small fandoms is actually the worst because what am i supposed to do when i've *literally* watched every playthrough of it that's on youtube and played it myself nineteen times and basically know more about it than the developers themselves ???????
Hello all who follow me!
I'm here to shill on tumblr since she doesn't have one.
Are you a fan of horror? fmv horror? at dead of night to be exact?
Well even if you answered no to any of those questions, you're still coming! You don't get a choice.
A friend of mine, Huld (Known for playing Jimmy Hall in ADON and Simon in Contradiction) is streaming semi regularly on twitch and she is doing a big marathon stream on the 24th Feb! 9am til 9pm (UK time)! Ve will be playing Contradiction and At dead of night back to back, which are both games she stars in (And if you follow me, you've seen art of)
So come to https://www.twitch.tv/iamhuld and support her fundraiser for her transition and hopefully others if she hits her goals!
Jokes aside, I'd appreciate anyone coming just to say hi. I've been working with her behind the scenes and Ve is working so damn hard. Even if you cant make it to this weekends charity stream, just pop her a follow and come say Hi. I'll probably be there if you are so inclined.
If you can't come to the stream but still wish to donate, here is ve's gofundme- Link
Mobile Suit Gundam is one of the most influential anime series ever created, establishing many of the conventions of the mecha subgenre. In the forty-plus years of its existence, there have been dozens of series and spinoffs, but they generally boil down to political drama involving Earth and its space colonies, featuring a super powerful giant robot called a Gundam. Among the many, many video game tie-ins, one of the most unusual is this CD-ROM FMV title, a co-production between Japanese studio Bandai and American developer Presto Studios, the team behind The Journeyman Project titles. It was originally developed for the short-lived Apple Pippin platform, which Bandai was an ardent supporter of, but was also ported to Windows and Macintosh platforms, as well as the Japanese PlayStation.
New Life/Game Dev Goal: Get successful enough off of other game dev projects to afford to make a retro-styled FMV game (think Harvester--super cheesy/low quality with random local theatre actors)
I think I could pull it off if I had a good enough story; it would just take a lot of work/money lol
Wacky Races: A Tsuyoshi Takashiro Digital Film (Classic Mac, Future Pirates, 1997)
An FMV game based on the classic Hanna-Barbera show.
It's on IA here, but I can't get it to work for the life of me. Instead, download it from here and unzip it. Drag the .iso file onto the emulated desktop here once it's finished starting up. Then, before you double click the Wacky Races icon in the window that appears, click the second icon on the strip on the low left and select 640*480 on the menu.
Spoken dialog is in Japanese, so here's the skinny. Dick Dastardly plans to cause havoc in ten different lands. To get passes to those lands, watch RacesTV and bet on racers to win, two at a time. One of multiple CGI mini-episodes will play, with ten different possible winners - if either of your chosen racers won and you don't yet have their pass, you'll earn it. You can use the passes in Trip mode, a first-person point-and-click adventure game, to visit the ten lands in your very own wacky vehicle, the T-Bone Wrex (complete with manipulator arm for those pesky inventory item puzzles). The IA link has a scanned manual - you can run the images through Google Image's reverse image search and select the Translate mode.
