Done doesn't have any other choice but to be the serious one of his batch.
Pierre is a dreamer. It has this weird intuition thing. Freckles is too nice. Macaron too trusting.
Done is their ori'vod, and as such, he needs to protect them. They almost lost Freckles because she's a mutie, and It because they're so weird.
And now, three of them are far away from him, part of a whole other battalion and fighting actively in the war. And Done, Done is stuck on Coruscant among the Guard, with only Macaron, his vod'ika, left for him to protect.
Done is probably a tad too overprotective, but he doesn't care. He knows all too well the fear of losing his siblings, and he won't allow them to die. Not on his watch.
One time I was explaining to my dad how unfair it is that every big city has at least a couple gay bars but there are only like 20ish lesbian bars left in the country and he responded with "That's cause gay men have a good party culture. Lesbians don't have time to party, they're too busy debating the sociological implications of things and studying for postgrad degrees" and as much as I wanted to tell him he was out of line for that, as a lesbian who spends all her free time on Tumblr debating sociological implications and messaging other lesbians in discord servers where everyone has a PhD or masters for some reason I felt like I might not be the best person to make that argument
[Clonetober 2022] Day 12 - the Path (running from the Empire).

Content Warnings: Canon timeline, post Order 66, mention of canon characters death.

They couldn’t save them.
Not General Aayla, not Commander Bly, not Freckles or Pierre or Done or Macaron.
It doesn’t like to think about it. About the chip in their brain the Force squished and the lights fading around them and tearing them apart.
About the loss of their siblings, their mentor, and who could have been their Buire.
But It can still save people; they can still take children by the hand and lead them somewhere safer, where they wouldn’t have to feel the galaxy being destroyed around them.
(One day, they’ll lead one of those families to one of their contacts on Alderaan, and the door will open on a lavender Twi’lek with a cautious smile and a house full of toys and children’s laughter. One day, they’ll enter this home, and It will be face-to-face with Macaron after years thinking they'd lost him with Order 66.
But this will be one day. Now, It keeps walking through the Path, and lets the Force guide them to those who need saving.)
