#oc: winry

so! winry!!! is another persona oc!!!!! i actually came up with her concept before asuka's, about two years ago

around then, me, my bf, and our buddies came up with self-inserts of ourselves to fit into a persona universe, except it's entirely its own thing unrelated to the actual games' storylines. we do take more world concepts from p2 than any other game, though, with philemon and nyarlathotep being the bitches they are. my character ended up being winry :D

winry's a normal and innocent college-going gal, or was until she got falsely accused of assaulting a certified creep. it was self defense, but noooo, she's a woman in the year of our lord and savior 1999, nobody caaaares

putting the less important part of her backstory aside though, she's very silly. loves pirating anime, and i'm talking the physical shit. how she gets it? nobody knows...but she can and will force you to watch all of evangelion in a single night. she's very normal about that show.

ofc she's also a persona user! her persona's alice, straight-up the design from SMT and everything. there is a reason for that. and her arcana's death. there's also a reason for that. she likes to fight with a plain-old sword hehe

eventually the concept turned into that of generally just ocs that we'd all rp the storyline for. buuut since we're all busy people that never happened, so the deal's moreso something me and my bf talk about now and again, since winry and niko (their oc) were ofc together...kinda

see, winry's stuck in a time loop. in the first timeline, she and niko were very close friends, perhaps more...until all of a sudden, niko dies soon after a very heated argument. logically, she's convinced it's her fault. so logically, she agrees to turn back the hands of time to find a way to save him. and again. and again...it's an endless loop where her most treasured person dies, over and over...

after that first timeline, she lost her original persona and gains alice instead, forfeiting her fool arcana for death. quite the edgy backstory, but i do like it.

so basically the story's about winry finding a way to save niko, and making other friends along the way! i think about it v much

His name is Hailwind and he's something of a sculptor/healer-- he's just really good at shaping ice. He made Frostbite's arm and maintains upkeep on it. (If you are interpreting Winry Rockbell vibes-- yes.)

Did a redraw months ago during a stream where I spun the wheel to see what year I will land on to redraw one of my old art pieces. 2016 landed and so I redraw one of my FMA works [even though recently I checked I guess this was from 2014 but DA wont show me the image.. which im mad about.] Either way I wanted to redraw this piece since its been a LONG time.

I will still find it funny someone got so stupid mad at me, being a lil white knight trying to 'protect their senpai's' by angerly going at me for making Alchemy High when its been around much longer. [and I have old fanart to prove that from other older fma members and artists].

I am bringing this back in a way to make the story , however its gonna be much different. I would go for uniforms BUT I decided, lets just do regular like - highschool and collage shit where they can wear whatever the hell they want?

Even though the story is mostly going to be focusing for the collage story but have flashbacks with the highschool and other variety stuff since I do want to focus on the whole group being Adults in collage. they knew eachother for a long time now [mostly Ed, Al, Winry and Emmy and probably Thanos?] and they still have their hobbies and other stuff they enjoy. Edward still heavy on the heavy metal rock punk, same somewhat for Winry.

Emmy enjoys it too but dresses in pastel. So she somewhat a pastel punk maybe? Alphonse I feel he- would dress somewhat like a hipster maybe. I just imagine him wearing a vest often like their dad. Thanos very much into rock and punk. Emmet Im not sure what he'd be into as of yet.

I do wanna do more sketches of them thats for sure so more are coming on in. :P

Also for Thanos [top left] I decided to go with him being Half Ishvallen and Half Xingese like I have mentioned in the past which I feel be a interesting change for him. Still need to work on his toyhouse profile though.

I thought it would be a good idea to put all of my Fma au Art that I have so far together! I hope everyone likes it!

The science of alchemy has a history of being used for nefarious purposes. But when secrets are revealed and weapons are drawn, it’s only a matter of time before powers such as Amestris, Creta, and Xing take part in Alchemic War.

An unexpected nationwide event has caused disaster and crisis across Amestris. It’s as if the ground itself began to crumble, like its hollow beneath. Nobody knows how the chain reaction of seismic events was started. However, some sources have stated the presence of a series of underground tunnels beneath Amestris territory.

The Fullmetal Alchemist has not yet returned to Central. He is currently attending to his automail engineer, whom is suffering from grievous injuries caused by the recent incident. It will likely be some time before the news of his brother’s supposed death reaches Resembool, but he is likely worried sick about him.

Slave #23 has returned home.

Laboratory 5 is only occupied by those who know of its secrets. Most of which are presumed dead to the general public.

Adult subjects:

Jerso (Last name unknown)- Human Chimera (Toad and Frogfish). Joined the military at age 19. All previous records have been effectively erased.

Zampano (Last name unknown)- Human Chimera (Razorback Boar and Hedgehog). Joined the military at age (Redacted). All previous records effectively erased.

Child subjects:

Alphonse Elric- Suit of Armor (Human soul sealed inside). Claims to be 14 years of age. (Physically died at age 10). (No military records found).

Nina Tucker- Human Chimera (Great Pyrenees). Experimentation began at age 5. (No military records found).

Name Unknown (“Violence” or “Lesser-Wrath”)- Homunculus (Artificially-created human). Age unknown. (No records of subject’s existence found).

The Mustang Unit has been forcefully disbanded. After their leader caught a glimpse of the happenings beneath Central City, he was promptly stripped of his rank and title. Only two of his former colleagues are still on duty in Central, but they will likely not cause any trouble. Riza Hawkeye is under the watchful eye of the Fuhrer, and Maes Hughes poses no threat to exposing what’s truly happening within Central.

Before the incident, the biggest news was that of the alchemist killer. The narrative was that he was an Ishvalan man with an X-shaped scar on his forehead out for revenge on the government that massacred his people.

However, now that Amestris has settled a bit more after the incident, the scarred man has returned, and he’s not alone. Word has spread of a second Ishvalan accompanying “Scar” (as the public has called him). This new accomplice is said to be missing his right arm. Some have also said that he may be the brother of Scar. However, this is all just speculation.

Since this reemergence, more uprisings have occurred in prominently military-occupied areas of Amestris.

The nationwide transmission circle has been activated too early. Father’s strength has been depleted by this incident. However, the homunculi have a new ally. One whom has lived almost as long as he has. One whom has created her own homunculi. One whom has opened the portal of Truth, and knows many of its secrets.

The boss has been reintegrated into Father’s ranks, much to his dismay. His greed and hunger for more has always made his position less than favorable for him. But this time, Father and his new supporter have taken extra measures to make sure he stays in line. He still acts like himself though. A suave, smug, piece of—

for vin, there's erm. a lot of those. literally any moment where he feels embarrassed works

for winry, prooobably the first time she witnessed niko die. they were fighting :] and niko just fucking died out of nowhere :] and then she started a time loop to save them :] :]

7. What's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them?

the main thing about winry that's changed is just...her age. when i first came up with her (and my pals came up with their respective ocs) she was a high schooler, but that's been changed to her being a college student bc like...i don't see the appeal in writing kids these days. it's not really my thing unless it's for fanfic

oh god, where do i start with asuka. she was originally literally my self insert, and a lot more outwardly rude and standoffish. and at first her special deal was that she became self aware of being an oc and has an existential crisis😭yeah i had to change all that

vin. oh my god vin. vin's the most drastic out of all of them. i first came up with him at 15 as a fan character for a different anime/manga i will not name as i do not want to be associated with that crowd. imma call him beta vin bc at that time he had a completely different name

beta vin was supposed to be this bad guy that manipulated another one of my ocs into giving him inside info on the good guys. he was also supposed to be hella gay for this other bad guy character but then that character turned out to be genuinely terrible and a relationship between them would Not work so i scrapped it.

but here's the thing it wouldn't have worked out anyways bc the friend i discussed ocs and shit with at the time (who is now cut off) sorta just pried me away from the mere concept of pairing two men together; instead i had beta vin's childhood friend who's supposed to be dead be brought back by basically literal necromancy? so he could get with her instead. which was really stupid bc this character was also originally supposed to be male but i was led into making her a girl through pretty convoluted reasons.

it's okay though bc that character is being used for entirely different (more original) means and she's also a lesbian now <3 her girlfriend's a lookalike of vin in terms of design (and there is reason for that but. that's a whole other can of worms i don't think i should spill) but i don't really plan on changing it bc i like it a lot

14. How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?

winry does Not want to be perceived by anyone but niko. she wants to do her shit and figure things out completely alone. unfortunately her story's pretty much an anime so she's gotta learn about the magic of friendship

i was gonna say vin wants to be respected if not feared, but then i thought for a second. no. no he does not. his whole schtick is that he tricks people and pisses them off. he wants to be seen as a prick, a troll--some asshole who won't leave you alone. a bastard who plays with his food.

asuka wants to be known, loved. she wants to be seen as normal as anyone else, as an actual human being deserving of attention, bc she doesn't really get that outside of when she acted on stage in the past. she wants to be pitied, she wants to be saved--she wants a friend, if anything. a friend who understands her, shares her interests, all that.
