The way Solas breaks character halfway through ranting about how much Falon'Din sucked and nobody notices is absolutely hilarious.

I cannot believe that I never noticed that Elendil tests if Miriel is blind before he brings it up directly, by leading the horse closer to a tree and watching to see if she avoids the low branch (that he ducks to avoid) 🤦♀️

hey Welcome Home community what are our thoughts on the fact that Wally, Julie, and Frank's neighborhood pages say the word "handler" instead of "puppeteer"?
the only commonality between the three of them is that they only require one puppeteer (as opposed to multiple, as i'll show with the other neighbors) -- so i suppose the phrasing could just be due to that? and while i have found a couple of instances in real life where the world "handler" is used in reference to puppeteering, it just seems oddly specific. why not say "operated by one puppeteer", to match the rest of the neighbors?
also?? these sentences are all exactly the same, with just their names switched out???
and despite details like Frank's rotating head mechanism, there's no mention of what actual type of puppet each of them are. Wally's page talks more about Home than it does about him -- but we technically know he's (presumably???) a hand-rod puppet because of the real life Wally puppet. Julie's page says absolutely nothing about her puppet aside from the final detail about the handler.
the only exception to both of these words is Poppy, whose section describes her puppet type (being a walk around puppet), but doesn't mention the amount of puppeteers needed to operate her. although i suppose this could be due to. the fact that she has no live-hand counterpart and we're just meant to make inferences

maybe with the ending.. make it be like the link between Breezepelt's leaving to join Kin and his POV in AVOS? of course from Nightcloud's perspective but
like. she would be injured and recovering away from the clan. but they would be unaware that she is alive and like in canon assume she died and hold her a vigil. Breezepelt, who is already at low point, taking it very badly - yes he was pushing her away bc he was hurt and angry and started taking it out on her, but.. it's still his mom. his Mi. and she is dead? or is this stupid clan just going to believe this to make it easier? are they really giving up on looking for her, or her body??
i can see Nightcloud being the one of very few, if not THE Only one, things that kept Breezepelt in WindClan at this point. and without her, what's the point? it's not like anyone else likes him. the link is gone and they buried it in a bodyless vigil. so it's what pushes him to actuall take the step and leave.
not sure how well it would align with the timeline and events. and how soon Darktail was assembling cats from other clans like Breeze. but i think it would be interesting and heartbreaking if at the end of her SE, Nightcloud just arrived back to WindClan and asks where Breezepelt is and someone tells her.. he either was missing since this morning or just left the clan earlier the same day. like, just have them miss each other by a hair.
I'm thinking that the second-to-last chapter is her with Pickle, having a bit of a sabbatical to unpack everything that happens through the story. Mostly because I want to throw her into some kind of pretty garden as a nice setting for this lmaoo
A LOT of BB stuff is being added to Nightcloud's Pannage that wasn't in the main series; Hillrunner's abuse, her mentor Addersong, several expanded little background characters now complete with their own side conflicts. I think what I can bind all these things with is Nightcloud considering what a Clan means.
Because of her new reputation, I'm noticing I'm writing scenes where she's intentionally doing and saying things to try and sway them. While also grappling with her resentment towards them, and things she can't change.
There's a bit of a melancholy air so far, so I'm starting to feel like the best ending is just having a bit of space to herself to think. Ultimately, she decides that it's more than Breezepelt or Crowfeather that binds her to WindClan. It's the life and connections she COULD have.
WindClan cats are also quite religious next to other Clans, so I really do mean "sabbatical." I'm going to have Addersong die of old age shortly after they reconnect, so she's in Pickle's Garden talking to her new friend, choosing cats she's lost to pray to as patron spirits to give her the traits she feels she needs, and just recovering both physically from injury and spiritually from turmoil.
So all that to say; it works well that by the time she gets back, Breezepelt has joined The Kin. He was one of the first to join when he started calling for members anyway, so having Night be gone for about two or three weeks sounds appropriate.

"I will be waiting for you." + aya & bram? :')
i usually commit to doing these in the Order in which i get them, but after how devastated i am ovet the latest chapter i couldn't wait to do fluff with these two, soooo
‘I will be waiting for you.’ Bram had said, solemn as one could be, when Aya had mentioned the event and invited him over. ‘I will arrive even before you finish your classes and get ready for the competition, so do not fret. I promise.’
The girl had then made him seal said promise by interlocking her pinky finger with his, a gesture he still had to fully comprehend at that point. But Bram did know it meant commitment, plus even without having gone through that small ritual… there was no way he was going to do anything but keep his word. Especially when it was her.
So there he was, about thirty minutes before the whole ordeal started, already having claimed a front row seat to watch Aya play martial arts.
If he had to be honest, the atmosphere right then wasn’t exactly of his liking; he was surrounded by strangers, some of them made him extremely uncomfortable (also awkward, though he wouldn’t admit that) when trying to initiate conversation, not to mention how noise seemed prone to keep escalating until the children made their entrances and everything actually began. Still, hell would freeze before he dared to disappoint Aya, so Bram would gladly endure all of it.
Besides, he didn’t have to wait much more time alone, since a few minutes later a white and reddish tornado dashed towards his direction and latched onto him in a deep embrace when reaching him from the flank.
Needless to say, he instantly reciprocated.
“You’re here!!!” Aya’s voice sounded filled to the brim with joy, to the point of tearing up even. And precisely, once she pulled away and properly sat on the empty chair beside him, one could see crystal clear how her eyes were indeed watery.
“Of course.” A soft smile appeared on his face, a privilege so far reserved only for a select few. One was obviously her, his princess, and then there was no one else but his dear old pal. “First of all, I gave you my word, which means nothing in the world would make me miss this. And most importantly, I did it because I wanted to. For you.”
She then took his hand with one of hers, wiping the now falling tears with the other, and nodded in a determined demeanor.
“Thanks. Now I gotta go, but I’ll see ya after winnin’ this.”

So, because I was talking about this a bit with friends, I wanted to ramble and make a post
So, my Durge and my Tav have interconnected stories/backstories. And I've seen it pointed out that in their little prologue and in general, Durge calls themselves The Dark Urge and of course, given Durge's are namable, they're never referred to directly by name. Which the irl reasons is- you can name them whatever you want. But in universe, giving the impression that The Dark Urge is likely a title. Similar to when Sceleritas calls them Dark Lord etc. And any other name is likely given by their foster family/name before they officially was found and brought in by Bhaal's cult.
But my tav- Petra, knows him by his given name, not his title. She knows him as Silas. While they have an age difference, they were at the same orphanage for a time. And the first time they met after each leaving the orphanage, is before the flayers- where his name was stripped away, due to her own enchantment/magic- he doesn't remember her, but she remembers him. And the Urge is already whispering in his ear when he sees her and her lover, two people committing the greatest crime- doing absolutely nothing at all.
Then she says his name, without really thinking- just "Oh, Silas?" And his ear prick up, a name he hasn't heard in years- the name of a version of him that no longer exists. The little boy who didn't understand the urges pulling at him. The version of him who couldn't understand why blades called to him or why blood felt warmer than a hug. The child who still cried when he was left at the orphanage. Silas who still tried to make friends and play games, trying to hide how afraid he was of the monster inside of him.
The version of him that is long dead. The version of him Bhaal killed.
And if they want to be a part of that life, perhaps they should die too.
Because The Dark Urge has long accepted the monster he is, revels in it because that's what he's been taught to do or suffer the consequences. He embraces what Silas was terrified of- so he attacks them, because he can, because he must. Petra survives, just barely breaking away long enough to save herself after watching her lover die at The Dark Urge's hands.
And just a few short years later, his brain has been reduced to tadpole infested swiss cheese. He cannot remember his name, his titles, or who he is. Only knows that he's in danger, from the tadpole, from the world, from whoever hurt him, and whatever is whispering in the back of his skull. And this girl- Petra, seems to know him, but she doesn't say how or why, and doesn't acknowledge it. Only seems to hesitantly watch him, like she's waiting for him to make a wrong move, her hand always hovering around her weapon when he nears
Then she nearly gets struck down by a skeleton in this dusty old tomb and he yanks her away before a blade can pierce her belly. And she's caught off guard and looks up at him with confused eyes, surprised that it's him- "Silas...?" She says it without thinking, again, her muscles tightened and her brows narrowed.
And maybe he can be Silas again. It fits him, he wears it well, he thinks...
