I'm a sucker for aus. That tangled au has got me curious 👀👀👀👀

Hi friend! Tangled au is a long multi-chap fic that takes place in a canon blend between soc and Disney's Tangled. It has Wylan as Rapunzel and Jesper as Flyn, Jan Van Eck as mother Gothel, and (in some ways) Kaz and Inej as Pascal and Maximus.

The idea is that Marya and Jan were once the ruling monarchs of Kerch, before Jan's betrayal. Marya is still the queen, but as far as she's aware both Jan and Wylan have been missing or dead for around a decade.

Wylan in the au lived as the prince of Kerch until that time, but doesn't remember any of it (so I suppose there's a bit of an anastasia vibe going on there) before the age of 8 because of Reasons™ I won't disclose (not becuase I don't fully know what they are yet... what who said that?) so as far as he's aware, he's lived in the woods with his father his whole life.

Wylan and Jesper meet through pretty much the same circumstances as in Tangled, with Jesper being chased by stadwach and climbing up the tower to hide. Wylan inlists his help in going to see the 'floating lights' while his father is away on business, and insuing adventuring, hijinks, and romance occur.

A big part of how it will branch off from the movie is because of the added connections with Jan and Marya. Gothel in the movie has no relation to the throne, she's just a bitch, but Jan was once king, and even though he brought his exile on himself he blames Marya and Wylan for his lack of power. I guess that the most exciting thing about this au to me is how much I plan on diverging from the set story path. It gives me more problems to solve down the line but also A LOT more to play around with.

Alright, Bowuigi AU idea.

The AU? It's called groovy. What is it based on? Scooby Doo and the ailen invaders. Spoilers for that movie, BTW.

It starts out with Luigi falling into a pipe and getting stranded in the middle of nowhere. Mario is with him, but he goes off to find civilization alone. Luigi is told to stay there, but he wanders off. He (somehow) comes face to face with a Koopa troopa. He's scared and the Koopa chases him around for a bit.

Luigi somehow finds his way to Mario. Mario is talking to Peach. Luigi trys to tell Mario and Peach about the Koopa but only Peach believes him.

Peach brings the two home for the night, even allowing Luigi to sleep in her room. In the night, Luigi gets kidnapped by some Koopas, hijinks insue at the Koopa Kingdom. Luigi passes out from stress.

He wakes up to the most handsome man he's ever met. His name is Bowser. (Of course, Luigi doesn't know about Bowser being Bowser, and Bowser is human for the time being.) They flirt, they hit it off, the green man is crushing, hard.

But unfortunately their time has to come to an end. Luigi finds his way back to the Mushroom Kingdom, completely star struck. He tells Mario and Peach about the most wonderful man he's ever met. Mario is amused, Peach thinks this new guy's sus.

The next day, human Bowser comes to Luigi. They have a cute little date that Luigi keeps messing up. We start getting a few hints that Bowser might not be what he seems. They sneak into the Koopa Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Mario is getting worried. Peach finally puts the pieces together and is just like, "we need to go, now!"

Luigi and Bowser overhear rumors of trying to overthrow the king. They get caught! Luigi trys to show off to Bowser, but Bowser ends up scaring off the Koopas with, you know, being the king, but lets Luigi take the credit. Luigi still doesn't know!

Mario and Peach get captured by the koopas who want to overthrow Bowser. Luigi and Bowser find them and Bowser has to reveal his true self to fight off the evil Koopas. Luigi lets Mario and Peach go, but Bowser's getting pretty beat up. He goes to save him even though he's kinda scared of him.

It works! The evil Koopas are thrown in jail. Peach is kinda shocked, but okay with it. Mario is overly supportive. Bowser's like, "you still love me even though I'm not the man you fell in love with?" And Luigi's like, "of freaking course I still love you!" Blah, blah, blah, it's what's on the inside that counts. Wrap up the story right after that.

I know that's not the movie ended, but the movie made me cry and I want fluff. If someone doesn't write this, I'll write it myself.

Okay- But Danny Phantom where the Fentons *knew*

Look. That's their son- they knew from (maybe not the first, but definitely the second or third) time they saw Phantom up close that it was related to Danny in some way. That was their *baby*, flitting around and firing extoplasm bolts- or something that looked like them so of course they were going to get to the bottom of it after they went home and peeked into their son's room to make sure he was breathing. It took a while to actually confirm if he was or not.

Cue some sort of build up with Danny "revealing" he was Phantom. And his parents just going "oh honey,,, we've been knew."

Hijinks insue, I'm sure there's some exchanging of money between hands? And lots of yelling "Why did you still try and shoot me then!" "We thought maybe if we prove that it was dangerous you would stop doing it! And didn't realize you were so determined we decided just to keep playing into it."

Jazz is *not* happy they kept up the ruse- and Danny is not happy about nightmares about his parents rendering him apart and killing him. But eventually they talk it out and some ground rules are laid down and it's alright.

With some added "oh come on I'm the Ghost King you can't send me to bed at 10!"

"Youre the what now?? Ghosts have a heirarchy?? But what about the - bloodlust and the razing off the earth? Daniel Fenton you aren't allowed to raize the earth until after college alright! ,,, Wait does this mean we're ghost royalty? Could we tell ghosts to sit still and let us study them?"

A very long time ago, I received a lovely DM from @marziemoo when they asked about what are some recommendations for wlw/sapphic books about or written by authors of color. I apologize that it has taken me so long.

Allow me first to give some caveats:

I am very, very, very white. I am NOT a person of color. Please take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I take FOREVER to read books so, the ones I have read is small list but I have included ones that I researched and ones that have been on my To Read List for a while.

I tend to read mostly fantasy, so this list will comprise mostly of fantasy because that is what I read. I'll try to diversify with other genres. Everything except "The Jasmine Throne" I have not yet read.

Tasha Suri is a South Asian author whose work "The Jasmine Throne" depicts the story of an imprisoned princess and a priestess who hides from her past. It's passionate and powerful.

Warning: this book does depict or implicate harsher subjects and themes such as sexism, human sacrifice, and contains violence.

Kalynn Bayron, a black author. "Cinderella is Dead" tells the story of Sophia, who is forced with other girls to be forced into marriage two hundred years after Cinderella and her tale died. Sophia is joined with Constance, the last descendent of Cinderella and her step-sisters, to bring down the king. I haven't read this one yet, but it sits on my giant pile of To Read stack

This book by Leah Johnson tells the story of Liz Lighty, a midwest black girl. She's hoping to find financial aid so she can attend the college of her dreams. In order to do that, she has to become prom queen. Along comes Mack, the new girl, who is also vying for the prom queen crown. Sounds like rivals-to-lovers to me? I don't really read contemporary fiction, but the story premise is cute.

In Chinelo Okparanta's book, Ijeoma grows up as her nation gains independence and by the time she's 11, civil war breaks out. Ijeoma is sent away to safety where she comes across another displaced child. Friendship blooms and becomes a star-crossed romance. Again, I don't read a lot of contemporary fiction, but I might had this one to my reading list myself.

With the world's survival at stake, two teenagers are selected to journey to the Fairy Queen to fix it. Kaede and Taisin are drawn together during the mission. As members of their party succumb to unearthly attacks and fairy tricks, the two come to rely on each other and even begin to fall in love. This is a prequel to Malinda Lo's series, Ash.

so- Au where Kokichi is a detective in training, but is being mentored by Shuichi's uncle.

Shuichi's uncle decides to have him meet Shuichi because he figured it'd be nicer for him to have someone more his age to talk to, and upon meeting the two have a major gay panic because wtf why is he so cute??? But they don't try and even such as flirt on the account of one: it's a professional setting and neither want to make a bad impression- and two: they're both so dense they couldn't see the signs of feeling if it was written out for them.

Now Uncle on the other hand? he picks up pretty quickly that Kokichi's down bad for Shuichi, and he knows Shuichi reciprocates because as soon as the two were alone he ranted for a solid hour about how hard it was to supress his gay panic around Kokichi. Uncle really thinks they'd be a good fit for one another after a little while, and decides to try and nudge them in the right directions.

As you can probabaly imagine, hijinks insue inwhich Shuichi's uncle descovers just truely how both oblivios and stubborn his nephew and new student are about love- but also we thought it's be halarious that after months of failings by uncle, Kirigiri who also works at their office gets them together with a few words, leaving poor uncle so fucking tired and confused.

i skipped a few things that were said, mostly cause they were our own opinions on the hijinks and i think it's better when y'all make your own chaos up. just know ours were progressively more cartoonishly outlandish and exasperated uncle fails

Your baby Raz asks are reminding me of that one trope of characters dealing with some sort of de-aging thing. Maybe some villain trying to use Time Bubble like a fountain of youth and trying to use it to rapidly age people, only to try that on Raz before running, and the Junior Agents are left with a baby Raz, who they don't really connect that it's Raz until they start interacting and his gremlin energy comes out.

That kind of AU would be ABSOLUTELY hilarious

I can imagine when Norma or someone is like "Who's baby is this?" And then she suddenly realizes that it looks like an Aquato baby, so she goes to Adam or something to ask him about it and he's like "HOLY SHIT IS THAT RAZ" and she's like of course it's not Raz, Raz is like, 10.

But then, she's like "holy shit it is Raz" and then hijinks insue
